    Editorial Review

Play kitchens are favorite toddler toys, but they often take up atremendous amount of space. This scaled-down version provides all sorts of funactivities and fits neatly in even the smallest of rooms. The unit itself standsapproximately 16.5 inches tall, 22 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep. There's arefrigerator with a bright yellow door that has a shape sorter on the outside:insert the shapes, then push the button, and the shapes drop into the waitingpot just like an icemaker dispensing ice. Open the refrigerator drawer and justlook at all the (sticker) food on the pretend shelves! The red microwave andwhite oven have functional, bright green doors. A purple sink and countertopsport a white faucet and blue burner. Turn the yellow timer knob below theburner and the timer ticks and rings. Set the included, smiling orange fryingpan on the burner and the imaginary food immediately starts to sizzle. Place thesmiling green pot on the stove and listen to pretend water bubble and boil. Alsoincluded are an oversized measuring spoon and spatula, a phone with a wallbracket, and three plastic shapes for the shape sorter/ice dispenser. Let's getcooking! --Tami Horiuchi ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great starter kitchen
We bought this for our daughter's first birthday & she loved it.The shapes were a lot of fun to play with & she quickly learned how to push the button to make them fall out like ice cubes. She has lots of fun making soup & feeding it to me or herself.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for younger toddlers
We bought this when my daughter was around 10 months and it seemed very appropriate for her. She used the kitchen to pull herself up (I would have to hold it because of its light weight) and would walk around it. It really helped her get the walking/cruising thing down. She also liked opening and closing the doors and dispensing the ice cubes. The plastic shaped ice cubes were probably the best! She learned shapes and how to insert them and dispense them. She played with this toy up until she was 1 1/2 and then moved on to bigger things. It was not expensive and I feel we got some good use out of it. I would not recommned this for an older toddler but for new little explorers its great!

    Chicco Flip 'n Play Table
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Toy
    list price: $24.99

    Editorial Review

Variety is the spice of life, especially for toddlers. The Flip 'n Play table answers the call. It comes with a two-sided insert and stands 13 inches off the ground. The table's strong point is its vast array of features: a miniature rotary phone, a small flipbook of circus animals, three each insert number and letter shapes, a jingling flip handle, a clock with spinning hands, and a mobile of colorful, spinning "balls within balls." But that's not all. A lever easily activates a circular train track with attachable train. A button next to the lever sets off an authentic train sound. Flip the entire insert over and you have a building table for blocks of squares, circles, rectangles, pyramids, and cat and dog heads (all included). Your child can build a multiplicity of configurations. For even more fun, add to this play center from a wide range of available accessories. --Sandy Hirsch ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Table
It's got bells--and whistles! Plays train sounds and the clack clack bell sound of a train crossing. You wind up the track for the train manually, put the train on it and away you go. I LOVE the fact that this toy is not a battery-eater like most of his others, and that it does double duty as a block-building table, too! Alex at 17 months still plays with this; we got it for him at 9 1/2 months. He loves to take the top off and sit in it, or sit on the floor on his knees in front of it and use the inside area for a little table to eat a snack off of. He has his own table and chairs, but sometimes he prefers to use this. THERE ARE NO SONGS THAT PLAY, AND NONE WERE ADVERTISED, despite a previous reviewers comments. There are two versions of this table available--this one, and the so-called new, improved, electronic, musical version, which I think pales in comparison to this original. Who needs one more musical toy that does everything but allow the kid to use their imagination and play? Not me! And if you want a good old-fashioned toy, that your kid will love for a long time and that will stand up to that type of use, get this. You'll be glad you did. I only wish I could find more of the plastic blocks that come with this by themselves, rather than in playsets that are sold separately.

2-0 out of 5 stars too late for my 1 year old!
I think I missed the boat on this one; I bought it for xmas for my 13 month old and the only real play it gets is when my daughter and her 3 year old brother take off the "play top" and sit inside it!They think thats fun but thats about it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Toy
We bought this table based on other parent reviews, and though we couldn't find it locally the shipping cost was well worth it.
Our 11 month old twins love this toy, and when they get done playing with the activity center they pull it all apart and play even longer. The best part is it seems virtually indestructible, and only one small part uses a battery, the train track just winds up. We're very happy with this purchase. ... Read more

When little wobblers are bored with walls and sofa edges, andthere's no one to offer a hand, they can two-foot it safely across thatopen ocean of living-room floor with the help of the Step Start walker. This dual-purpose toy acts as stable support as they learn to walk, then lets them roll along when they want to ride. Once they are secureon their legs, the walker converts easily to a first ride-on toy. (Onlyadults can operate the wheel-lock mechanism.) 5-0 out of 5 stars Her first car.....
Yes, my daughter treated this as her very first car. She parked it, and was very territorial with it. This all lasted about 6-8 months. Now she just uses it as a secret storage. If we can't find something of hers, we can always look in the little compartment and find what's missing!! I love this item as she played with all of the features on it. She didn't push herself until she was almost 18 months old, laziness is my guess. I recommend this as an indoor ride on.

4-0 out of 5 stars It Gets the Job Done
We bought this for our son when he started cruising at about 8 months. At first he was only interested in the noise makers but as he gained confidence he started to really move around with it and now he LOVES it.It has also helped him increase his balance. The base isn't really wide enough for new walkers as they tend to walk with their legs wider apart but our son didn't have any problem working around that. You do need to be careful on floors that aren't carpeted since the wheels will move fast - maybe too fast for a little one.I chose this particular model because it's one of the few on the market WITHOUT noise and lights, etc.It was easy enough to put together but it does take some practice to make the conversion from ride-on to walker.Once you get it, it's a breeze - just make sure you test it with a tug before you let baby have at it.It's very cute and our son loves the toys on it and likes to make a game of "hiding" toys in the storage compartment.

Come on down to the Lil' People Animal Sounds Farm from Fisher-Price. There's a 12-by-12-inch, red and white barn that unfolds to create a down-home country scene complete with a pig, a sheep, a chicken, a horse, and a cow. Also included are a scarecrow, a farmer kid, and plenty of farm implements to keep him busy. 4-0 out of 5 stars Cute and fun to play with...
My daughter received the farm for her first birthday, she turned two this week and she still loves to play with the farm. She often takes the animals out of it and plays with them with her other animals, then puts them "night night" in their stalls. This toy is a great gift for girls or boys!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy
My son got this for his 2nd birthday and he LOVED it!It was a huge hit with him & his then 9 month old brother. It's been 6 months since then and they still play with it daily. The pieces are holding up really well, despite how rough my boys are with it!
We've been very happy with this toy!

You may think a school bus's most important characteristic might be safety, but in this case, it'spure friendliness. This 18-inch-long yellow school bus is fronted by a happily smiling face whose eyesblink charmingly when the bus rolls forward. Inside there are seats for three passengers and a bus driver(included), and a space for a wheelchair-bound rider. The bus even comes with a little wheelchair for thelittle people to ride in. My son played with this toy a lot!As he is not easily occupied, this is a big compliment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Talk about Durable!!
We purchased this toy about 1 1/2 years ago and it is still working GREAT! It is so durable that my 3 year old son has ridden on it several times and we have had no problems! It is 1 of his favorite Fisher Price toys and we will probably be purchasing another one just in case this one does fall apart one day! But I actually think he will become too old for before it does fall apart! I have recommended the bus highly to other parents and friends.

    Toy

    Editorial Review

"Buckle up!" chirps a young voice when little drivers twist theplastic key to start their See Me Go! Driver. Designed for small lapsand big imaginations, this 1-foot-long, battery-operated dashboardincludes a chunky steering wheel, horn, turn signal, rotating rearviewmirror, and gearshift. But a number of other creative features set thisone apart from similar models. By turning the ignition key to thesmiling face icon, drivers will hear voice responses like "Let's go tothe park!" or "Let's go to school!" when they push the six activitybuttons on the dash. Twisting the key to the music note elicitsfamiliar tunes when the same buttons are pressed. Flashing turn signalarrows, a hidden volume control, and a plastic doggie that can barkalong with the tunes give this toy a high mark on the amusement scale.--Liane Thomas ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Big Hit
I gave this toy to my son when he was 4 months old.It is by far his most favorite toy and keeps him entertained for great lengths of time.He loves all the lights and sounds that it makes and as parents we have not tired of the sounds yet either, as we have with some of his other toys. It is very sturdy and even copes with large amounts of drool and banging. He loves the dog attachment which has stood the test of time with progressions from teething through to constant banging, tugging and pulling. This is a great toy and I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun While It Lasts
My son adores this because it simulates one of his favorite things - cars.

Unfortunately, only two buttons still work on the toy and this is his second one. Even the ones I've tested in the store seem to have this problem.

My other complaint: it is too heavy and awkward to rest in his lap while in his car seat.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun
My baby is 9 months old.. and absolutely loves this toy.We put it on an elevated surface, so he can sit and play with it.Great toy to take along on car rides... keeps him entertained the entire time. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Made in Italy, the Lights & Sound Festival Orchestra is a regular rock opera with a zoo full of animals. Each one of the orchestra members--monkey, cow, frog, pig, dog, duck, and bear--all make their own distinctive sound when the keys are played. There are also 10 musical instruments to choose from and 10 prerecorded melodies that can be learned by following the keys as they light up. If that's not enough, this electronic musical toy records up to 38 notes. The two birds holding the microphone and recorder are in charge of that production. 5-0 out of 5 stars 3 years and counting
My daughter recieved this item three years ago for her first birthday. Then she loved the colors, lights and sounds, and the fact that she could do it all by herself. Now she is "composing" and using the record feature. Although the sounds and notes may not be perfect it has never bothered anyone. Any toy that is still played with after 3 years is a winner.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very poor sound quality
I got this for my 2 year old, and he likes to play with it.However, be alerted that the sound quality is very poor. The animal sounds aren't "true", some are more like shrieks than roars or growls. The music part is very "tinny" also.He doesn't mind these things, but I do! The sounds are very annoying. Also, there's not a convenient handle for him to use.He has to carry it in his arms instead of by a handle.Honestly, I'd recommend looking for another brand of sound toy, like Play Skool or Fisher-Price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Animals need singing lessons
I purchased this toy for my 1-year old daughter's birthday and have been disappointed in it, especially after reading the other good reviews on this toy.The sound quality is poor compared to other musical "orchestra" toys that she has.If only I hadn't thrown the box away, I would definitely send this toy back.Don't buy it.Check out some of the better Fisher-Price musical orchestras instead...the quality is much better. ... Cookie Shape Suprise

    Editorial Review

Infants and toddlers will have fun getting their hands insidethis friendly-faced cookie jar. As soon as the toy was removed from thebox, our 9-month-old tester was intrigued. He grabbed onto thethree-dimensional shapes (or "cookies") sized perfectly for little hands tohold. After tossing and rolling the shapes across the floor, he satdown to check out the cookie jar. He learned to put the shapes insideand outside of the jar opening, which triggered the hidden sensor toplay the tune "Muffin Man." When he gets older he'll be able topractice sorting the shapes into their designated slots on the side ofthe cookie jar. Parents will appreciate the adjustable volume controland how easily the shapes store inside of the jar. Three AA batteriesare included. --Lauren Bernard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought this for my daughter when she was 7 months old...She love it from the beginning even though she didn't understand the toy... At around 9 months she started putting the shapes in place, even though I had to give her a little help with the heart....This is a really great toy because she doesn't get tired of putting the shapes in place and of listening to me or my husband throwing a party every time she does it.
I recommend this toy to anyone... In fact, I have bought it as a gift two times already. The only this that I would change it is that the border of the shapes in the cookie jar doesn't have the colors, and that will be great.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great toy, but not perfect!
My child and I both love this toy. This toy is very educational. The only problem I have with this toy is that the button where the shapes slide in stick causing the toy not to say the shape, number, etc..I have managed to improvise. If I were to do it over again, I would have still bought the product but would have saved the receipt to exchange it for one that the buttons didn't stick on it as bad.

5-0 out of 5 stars grows with age.
I have two boys who love this toy. My oldest is 4 and my youngest is 19 months and they love it when the cookie jar laughts when you put your hand inside and pull out the shapes. I love this toy my self the only thing that is difficult about it is the shapes are a little difficult to push through when you are a baby ( 6 months and under) Other than this fact it is a wonderful toy . ... Recalled Item - Grow to Pro Basketball

    Toy

    Editorial Review

Just about every child loves to dribble and shoot basketballs, but not every household with children has the right space for a court. This freestanding basketball hoop might be an ideal solution. Since the height of the hoop can be adjusted according to your child's height and skill level (the hoop goes as low as 42 inches and as high as 5 feet), this is a great investment for children as young as 3 years old. The large backboard (22 by 28 inches) helps keep the ball in play. You can make its heavy-plastic stand even more stable by filling the hollow base with sand or water. The set also comes with two sizes of inflatable balls, and holding cradles for each ball are built into the base. Wheels on the bottom make it especially portable. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN TOY
I have read the other reviews on here and dreaded having to put this thing together but it went together without any kind of problems at all.I read where people were banging on it with hammers and using tons of soap but we never had to use anything like that on ours it went together beautifully. It took about 10 min to get it together and my son has been having the time of his life with it. The small plastic basketball is great for toddlers because it doesnt hurt like a regular basketball and yet it is a great ball to play with even for the older kids. I was skeptical of this toy upon reading these reviews but I am happy we got it for him. He plays with it constantly and it adjusts really easy to go higher for his older brother and sister or lower just for him. I recommend this toy to ANYONE with a child who is a lover of balls!!! We have a great time!

I read all the reviews before I sprang for this toy and was ready for a challenging assembly process. But I have to say that the set can be ready to rock in around a half-hour (given that you don't have an excited two-year-old distracting you like I did). Some other reviewers had difficulty getting the posts in; not me.I don't know why the instructions recommend possibly using liquid soap to lubricate the pieces (sounds like an unnecessary mess); downward force and a little wiggling (per the instructions) got the job done in seconds.I had the most difficulty with the 2-piece rim assembly until I had a few moments of quiet to give the instructions a more careful look. Also, I'm very impressed with the price: ... for a toy we'll have a long time is short money. ...
