    Power Tools Set W/ Goggle
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
    Toy

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Just listen to the scream of the power-sound circular saw, the throaty torque of the power-sound screwdriver, and the whine of the power-sound drill. With this 10-piece play tool set, little workers get everything but the smell of the sawdust and the "ouch!" from a hammer hitting a thumb. The big, orange, plastic toolbelt (30 inches long) has designated spots to hang the five hand tools: a wrench, pliers, a screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a hammer, plus a place for a play saw (not included). With the toolbelt aslant on hips and the blue safety goggles in place, the youngest construction groupie is ready for power-sound play. Add a pretend board and a make-believe nail or two, and this tool set is guaranteed to help build real fun. The hand tools are approximately 5 inches long. --Ava Natov ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Belt to big for most toddlers
My son loves the tools in this kit and the belt too.Unfortunately the belt seems to have been built for larger children.Even at the smalled setting the belt will not stay on even my 5 year old.Sad news for my 2 year old who I bought it for.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it, but the helmet may be dangerous!
It has been the #1 toy for my 2 year old since we bought it 2 months ago.The power tools are great; he thinks he is using the real thing. The only concern I have is with the helmet which is supposed to be held on by an elastic string under the chin...My son's helmet slipped behind his head, the elastic string caught around his neck causing red marks and welting.I believe this may be a possible strangulation danger, so be careful.Previous versions of this toy came with a helmet that fit on a child's head just like a real construction helmet.I will be calling the company asking for one of these as my son loves to wear the helmet, but it will not stay on wihtout the original plastic string removed for safety reasons.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can We Fix It? Yes We Can!!!
My boys LOVE this set!We got it for them , and it's only recentlythat one of my sons has gone to bed without having to find his screw driver first. He honestly slept with it for months! The hammer too some nights :)

They were two and a half years old (twins) when we bought this set.The belt can still cause problems of fighting between them so we keep it hidden most days, but there are enough tools that they share and play with them quite well.

The electric screw driver broke about 4 months after we bought it, but if I remember correctly one of the boys was using it as a hammer - so I'd hardly fault the toy.The rest of the tools are still in great working order 10 months after purchasing them, and the draw string for sound effects is a great idea - they aren't constantly eating batteries this way.I think I can honestly say that there haven't been many days in the past 10 months that we haven't played with these toys. They even went on vacation with us!

If you have boy(s) that need to "fix" things all the time - you need this set. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

These high-quality tools for older kids bridge the gap betweentoys and the real adult thing--and are perhaps closer to the latter.Nonslip vinyl grips (or a rubberized grip on the hammer) coverwell-made tempered steel and fiberglass components. There's a claw hammer,Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, two types of pliers, diagonalcutters, and an adjustable wrench. Add a 12-foot metal tape measurewith lock, a pair of safety glasses, and what else do you need? Answer:a Home Depot apron--and they put that in, too. --Richard Farr ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Real tools for real kids
I got this set for my 2 year old grandson, who loves construction and its equipment and tools. The tools are the real thing, I little smaller than I would buy for myself, but just right for him. He has other toy tools, but these are his real tools, for serious work. Get some scrap pieces of lumber. Get some large nails, screws, and bolts and drill holes for inserting them in the lumber. The kid will work with them every day. However, a kid can hurt others and damage the furniture, so the tools should only be used with adult supervision.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
My husband and I use these tools more than we do our own! They are very well constructed and durable and the variety is great for the price. My 6-year-old loves to help out around the house and has tons of projects he plans to build.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not as durable as it looks
We had this toy for only 4 months before the first tool broke.I can't find any information on how to get replacement tools. There is no number on the workbench or information on the web.For [the price] it would be nice to have all the tools. ... Read more

The Home Depot Workman Tool Set - Jackhammer Set
Average Customer Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars
    Toy

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

The Home Depot electronic jackhammer is a realistic-lookingjackhammering machine. The set includes an adjustable hardhat, a toolbelt, safety goggles, pliers, Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, ahammer, a wrench, a saw, and the 13-inch jackhammer. The belt is a niftyplastic replica of a leather tool belt, with a nice touch: pictures of atool on each corresponding loop for matching. The chunky little toolsare just right for children's hands. Any budding road worker will beproud to carry this good-looking yellow and black jackhammer. But, itnot only looks good, it sounds good, too. Push the start button, whichmakes a cacophonous engine noise, and then squeeze the blue triggerbutton on the handle. The trigger button makes a fairly realisticjackhammering noise, which we found hard to resist hearing over and overagain. Each of these noises stops after about five seconds of play, and, thankfully, there is an on/off switch. It requires three AA batteries(included). --M. Sullivan ... Read more

My 2 year old received this from Santa last year and it's still around and played with!He uses them together as a set and as separate toys. The hard hat is necessary when he has to do any 'work'.The jackhammer can get a bit annoying with the sound but it is a wonderful toy especially considering the price. ... Home Depot Builders Set
    Toy

    Editorial Review

What are kids if not future homeowners? And to get them accustomed to the time-honored rituals of home ownership--including, but not limited to, biweekly trips to a rather large hardware chain store--you may as well acclimate them to the literal tools of the trade. This 50-piece, Home Depot-themed mechanic's tool set (be warned that logos adorn all of the implements) includes quite a spread: a hand drill with two bits, two screwdrivers, a wrench, a claw hammer, a wood saw, a folding ruler, a cutter, an adjustable wrench, a level, two pairs of pliers, a pipe wrench, a C-clamp, a tape measure, variable calipers, 10 nuts, 10 bolts, a T-driver, six nails, and six pieces of play wood. All of these plastic tools look and feel like the real thing, and many have moving parts. --Paul Hughes ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars real tools for kids
This is a great awsome exellent usful tool toy its real and its for kids and it is a real usefull, its not even a toy you could really use it. no essemble requird and with its really good tape measure and hammer, pliers, screw drivers, and more, its really usefull around the house and it comes with a tool box I rate this 5 star.

5-0 out of 5 stars great REAL tools for a child.
I bought this for my son on a recent trip to Toys R Us. This items was perfect because he had just spent the day before working on a project with his Grandad using my tools and they wee too large for him and he tired out very quickly. These are perfect because they are his size. Also these were great because everytime he saw Mommy or Grandad with their real tools and toolbox he wanted one of his own. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Also to the reviewer who complained that they wee real tools and who would buy a child them it does state that in the item description and it's never too soon to teach safety.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for kids
I ordered this tool box for my 6 year old son. Everyday he uses it to create something wonderful. The tools are real and fit perfectly into little hands. This is the BEST toy he has ever had. ... Read more

These are all very durable and batteries last forever. Quiet, too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Broken already
My son received this toy set for his birthday in August. It took about 2 weeks for him and his little friend to break the power screwdriver. We opened the toy to try to fix it and it's not fixable. We've had terrible luck with all the Home Depot toys. The plastic just doesn't hold up to little kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lack of durability
My son was thrilled to get this terrific set of power tools and play construction man and fix it guys with his friends.

Unfortunately the tools did not last more than a week. The power saw broke with the little piece becoming a chocking hazard for a little one.The power drill just makes noise but doesn't turn or screw in.

It didn't stand the test of two 4 year olds playing with it for one hour. While it was cool to look at and made great sounds, it was too frustrating to have it break in a week. ... Read more
