    Nite Brite Nemo
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
    Toy

    Editorial Review

A night-light, huggable plush, and best friend all in one. After a long day of ocean adventuring, Nemo is ready for some bedtime cuddling and pillow talk before taking a nice long nap. Squeeze his "lucky fin" and he'll talk. Tell him you love him and he'll respond, or sing a song and he'll join in. When Nemo starts to get sleepy, his eyes will glow softly and he'll soon begin to snore. This adventurous clown fish is sure to swim right into your child's heart! Requires three AA batteries (included). --Deb Oroszlan ... Read more

    4-0 out of 5 stars Night, Night. . . . Don't the sharks bite!
My daughter received this as a gift for her 1st birthday.I liked it immediately because it tied in well with the whole Nemo-themed splash party. As a toy, my daughter loves it.It's a bit heavy for her to carry and manuever with her small hands but the way her eyes light up when Nemo's eyes light up makes it worth the weight (no pun intended). It's so cute to see her come wobbling in the room with this huge fish in her arms so Mommy can make it say "Night, Night".And, the snoring feature is to die for!I have noticed that it responds to a child's voice better than an adult's.While this is fustrating for me, my daughter doesn't seem to mind.So overall, I would consider Nite Brite Nemo to be a bit pricy but a great toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars He just loves this....
My son turned 2 recently. He picked this out himself in the store. He had never seen the movie or even heard of Nemo. Matter of fact we could not leave the store without the fish. He has slept with it every night since he got it. I listen to him at night on the monitor. He sings songs with nemo and tells him night night over and over. He absolutely loves this toy....

4-0 out of 5 stars Nana Loves Nemo
Hi,my name is Austin and I am 3 1/2 years old.Nana bought Nemo Nite Brite for "me" but she plays with it more than I do.Not good as this is my toy and I love hearing Nemo talk and light up his eyes and laugh and say Nite Nite. I talk right back to Nemo and we both laugh and giggle.

Nana scored big when she surprised me with Nemo.It sleeps right beside me every night.Just me and "my" Nemo. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Fish are not, by their nature, a friendly sort of animal. They're slippery, not especially expressive, and there's that whole "can't survive out of water" thing. Fortunately the folks at animation studio Pixar, who have had previous success humanizing toys and bugs, have found a way of making it work with the title character from their dazzling film Finding Nemo. Nemo, in a fit of ill-advised adventuring, gets captured and transported to a dentist's office. It's up to his father to save him. This plush Nemo features a soft foam body along with hard plastic eyes and nylon fins. It's a very precise re-creation of the fish from the film--easy to love and cuddle. --Charlie Williams ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Jessie's Great
Great toy. Definitely recommend it. I have only heard seven separate phrases, though. This toy is just like Jessie from the movie, except she has belt loops and is missing her white hat band.Other than that, it's amazing the detail on this doll.Great for the collector and fan alike. The voice is very close to the original as well.My 2 year old is the big fan and takes Jessie everywhere she goes. Has been very durable so far.The monitor feature just repeats her phrases, nothing special, but it keeps children interested.Easy to turn it off.All in all I was suprised with the quality (great) and am happy to add this toy to her collection. We have Woody ordered and on his way as well! ... Toy Story 2 Buzz Guard

    Toy

    Editorial Review

If intruders don't want to get on Buzz Lightyear's bad side, then they'd better stay outside. And who better to protect yourgalaxy sector (or bedroom) than the leader of the Universe ProtectionUnit himself, featured in the hit movie? Standing almost 14 inchestall on his black-and-silver pedestal, our rugged plastic hero is abattery-powered (two AA demo batteries included) protector, as well asa swell conversationalist. His trio of voice sampler buttons elicitsanything from "I'm Buzz Lightyear; I come in peace" to activation ofthe motion control sensor. Get too close while Buzz is in activationmode ("The Intergalactic Security System will be armed in 5 seconds;please leave this sector!"), and he'll not be shy about telling youthat it's "Time to blast off!" He'll stay on the job, too, untildeactivated using your secret button code sequence. Not that he's alltalk: additional buttons activate laser sounds and spring-releasejetpack wings, too. Articulated arm joints and tilting face shieldsuggest that if there's anything Buzz can't do, one might have tosearch infinity and beyond to find it. --Tony Mason ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "He's for display purposes only." (Toy Story 2)
My son sees Buzz Lightyear as a living legend. He's watched Toy Story movies several hundred times, literally. Once he received this toy for his birthday gift, the moment of happiness was priceless! He never wants to leave the house. He just wants to stay home with his hero all day long. Without a doubt, this is seems to be a fantastic toy for youngsters... Or is it?
I notice how much my boy struggles to lift Buzz...it's a pretty heavy toy. The toy's weight isn't balanced correctly, also. His upper body is much heavier than the rest, so if you stand him up straight, you see Buzz sort of slowly lean forward or backward (like he's doing the limbo). Sooner or later his 'kneecaps' and 'ankles' will wear down from the upper body weight and he'll never stand straight again.
The toy, overall, is very dense. Just knocking it over while it is standing feels like a file cabinet is being tipped over. If it ever fell off of a kitchen table...
There's no OFF switch. You may have a heart attack on your way to the kitchen in the middle of the night when, in pitch black darkness, someone yells, "HALT!! ALIEN!!! I'LL BLAST YOU WITH MY LASER!!!" (Don't worry, it is possible to disable the Room Guard alarm...a "pass code" has to be entered, though)
My son loves the toy so much despite its flaws. He just won't let go of it and plays with it in any way he can, no matter how inconvenient. But in my opinion, I don't believe this is a sort of toy for kids, really. It seems more for the young adults or collectors to keep in dorms or offices. It's definitely not the type of toy kids can pick up and toss around.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son loves it!
We went to Disney World with my 2 1/2 year old son and he fell in love with Buzz Lightyear! We showed him the movie as soon as we returned and he has watched it every day since. We decided to give him this Christmas gift early and it's been well worth it.He has never been so excited about a toy. He loves it!!! He repeats everything that Buzz says and has to take the toy to bed every night. He also carries it around everywhere and when he doesn't have it he is asking where he left it. He has dropped it several times and the arm has fallen off, but it is easy repair. I love to see him so happy to have a favorite toy with a whole new vocabulary. Although I did not get this toy for Educational reason,I feel that he is learning.I would love to have this toy a 10 star for fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars To infinity and beyond!
My son loves this toy!The movie displays teamwork and friendship. It's fun to watch kids pick up on that and act out their own fun with toys like this one! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Should have been a board book
This book is cheap. Cute, but cheap. I was expecting a board book, and the content would have been just right for one. It's paperback, with two staples in the middle. I think $...would have been a fair price, especially since I had to reiforce our copy with tape before I could let our 20-month toddler have it. She does enjoy it, and the art is cute, but I felt cheated by the poor quality.

4-0 out of 5 stars I wish it was a board book!
My two year old loves Monsters Inc. Since we limit TV time at our house, I thought that getting him some books about the movie would be a happy compromise when he wants to watch, and I want to get him away from "the box."He was thrilled to read M is for Monster. The book is written from Mike's point of view. So it starts out with Mike at a drawing board saying, "A is for author. I write AND I'm cute." It goes on to feature several characters from the movie: Boo, Celia, George, Sully. The story itself is written in rhyme. The illustrations are simple but colorful. It's a great book. My only complaint is that it only comes in paperback. It's rather flimsy. I would love to see this as a board book. But even as-is, I think it's definitely worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars AMAZING ART DIRECTOR!!
A book all children should have.Children learn their ABCs and enjoy very well crafted artwork by Ricky Nierva, who is by far one of the most talented directors at Pixar. You can't lose with this one. Well worth the money. And if you're looking for a few other great titles, look no further than these, Buckland's Hot List: most creative, The Butterfly: A Fable (Singh); most engaging, The Alchemist (Coelho); most interesting, Life of Pi (Martel); most enlightening, 9-11 (Chomsky); most thrilling, The Lovely Bones: A Novel (Sebold); and finally, the most creative, engaging, interesting, enlightening and thrilling book of all, The Little Prince (Saint-Exupery). These are the books I'd recommend to my family, friends, students, and wife. There are many more, trust me, but these are the first that come to mind (for having left an impact slight or proud as it may be). If you have any questions, queries, or comments, or maybe even a title you think I should add to my list, please feel free to e-mail me. I'm always open to a good recommendation. Thanks for reading my brief but hopefully helpful review. Happy reading. Donald S. Buckland. ... Read more
