Electronic Monopoly Average Customer Review: Toy US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review This handheld version of the classic Monopoly game comes complete with everything you need, even opponents! You choose up to three opponents out of five, each with a different skill level. There's also a banker--Rich Uncle Pennybags--who narrates the game as you play. Electronic "friends" aside, Monopoly Handheld plays just like the boardgame. In fact, the familiar game board is right on the face of the unit, so you know where you stand at all times. --Alison Golder ... Read more Reviews (42)

Electronic Handheld Concentration Average Customer Review: Toy list price: $29.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Test your memory and problem-solving skills with the ElectronicHand-Held Concentration game. Based on the long-running hit TVgame show, the game asks you to match words based on their position ina grid, then solve the liquid crystal rebus puzzle using the graduallyuncovered answers. It's a challenge, though the interface is easyenough that all but the most ham-fisted can navigate their way through. The display could be a little sharper, but it's still clear enough foryou to make out the elements you need to solve each puzzle. This isgreat for long trips or for commercial breaks--just remember yourplace! --Rob Lightner ... Read more Reviews (5)
The rebus puzzles are enjoyable and add to the adult value of thegame, but the only aim in solving them is to stop your opponent fromearning points, as they earn no points themselves. All points are formatching words revealed for a moment under each numbered tile. This isanother plus for kids as they are not penalized for not being able to solvethe rebus puzzle; they can beat you without it. The game can be played in1-, 2- and 3-player variations. In the 1- and 2-player versions, onecomputer player joins in. The computer player does not cheat... rather itmakes mistakes just like people and occasionally gets a correct match, too.Sometimes the computer will just a make a "lucky guess" and getone out of thin air, just like you will. Sometimes it "explores thepuzzle" to open up parts of the rebus that haven't been revealed. Andsometimes it "learns from you," making a match which you justrevealed in your last move. This emulation of human behavior adds interestto the game and keeps you on your toes. Another reviewer complained of amissing sound control; Tiger must have listened because mine has one. Youcan turn sound on or off anytime, which is nice. The unit also has anintuitive contrast control dial, unlike other Tiger games which use buttonsto control contrast (and only at certain times during the game). You canpick this up and play without instructions as gameplay is very obvious andeasy to follow. You can also play this with children, even if they can'tsolve the rebus puzzles -- since they are not penalized for that, as Imention. Complaints? The Bonus Round is quite hard, especially since thecursor always moves back to square #1. It does this in the main game too, which is my other complaint. After you pick #5, for example, it would benice if the cursor stayed in that area, instead of making you move it from#1 every time. What would I add to the game? A high score board withnames would be nice, since names are easy to type on the keyboard and addto the competition value among multiple players in a household. An optionto increase the pacing of the game, to make it even more challenging. And amore obvious cursor; sometimes it is hard to tell which number is selected. In dreamland, this game would be great in color and with fancy, TV-stylegraphics. I understand that Tiger is coming out with 3 additional puzzlecartridges, as they have done for Wheel and other games. I enjoyed thismore than their new Wheel Deluxe, which I bought for a friend and playedwith for 5 minutes. Concentration is both easier (requires no skills) andharder (requires your FULL attention) than Wheel.
