    Editorial Review

This electronic writing desk teaches kids the alphabet, letter sounds, letter formation, spelling, and word creation in a fun, interactive format. Kids can choose from sixgames: letters, a letters quiz, phonics, a phonics quiz, spelling, and "create-a-word."In the letters game, children push a letter to hear its name and see how it is formedon the LCD screen; players can also write their own letters on the "magic" writing screen. In the spelling game, children learn to spell simple words. In the phonics game, childrenfirst hear a letter and then are given a short word as an example. Along the way, thealways-helpful LeapFrog "coach" offers lots of cheerful hints so children won't getstuck in any of the exercises. Additional features include an automatic shut-off, anoversize pullout handle, a variety of comical sounds for incorrect answers, and atwo-position volume control. --Tami Horiuchi ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic learning tool!!!
My first son received this when he was 3 and loved it..it really solidified what he knew about letters and helped him to learn the difference between upper and lower case. Now, my second son, who just turned 2, knows all his letters simply from playing with this desk, and I am amazed! He played with it and still plays with it constantly, and just from playing with it was able to learn them all on his own...which is great for me, a mom of three, who doesn't always have the time to sit down with him. This toy occupies him for hours and is so educational, and I know that as he gets older, he will love using more of the many options it offers. This is such a great learning tool, I would buy another if this one broke tomorrow!

5-0 out of 5 stars My sons new favorite toy...
I ordered this for my 4 year old son last week and ever since I gave it to him he loves to practice his writing on it.This desk has a lot of different activities on it that the child can play with and still have fun learning.Like the other reviewers, my only complain is that it times out too quickly. But still it's a great teaching tool for kids learning to write letters and words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Preschool Learning Tool
My son is 4 years old and in preschool, this product has significantly helped him to not only recognize the letters in the alphabet but also how to write them.My only complaint is that it "times" out too quickly and asks them to play again later.Other than that, it is an excellent product. ... Editorial Review

This talking book comes with an interactive "magic pen" that works like a hand-held computer mouse pointer. Children can opt to turn the paper pages and listen to the story read with different voices for each character. Or they can interrupt the read-aloud session to play with the magic pen (permanently attached with a wire). They can point the pen tip to any word on a page and hear it pronounced, or touch a picture and hear a sound effect (such as "Strike one!" for the baseball bat). Very similar to the popular Living Books computer games, this 10-by-11-inch book is more portable than a home computer. Stories in this set include Lil's Loose Tooth, Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, and Winnie the Pooh in A Sweet Good Morning. The set also includes a paper piano keyboard and map and human anatomy games.--Gail Hudson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I would pick this over the writer's Leappad
I have both a LeapPad+Writing and regular LeapPad like this one, and I can honestly say that the extra writing feature is not worth the extra money.Stick with the LeapPad regular and get a lot of LeapPad readers.Make sure that you don't buy this if you have babies that tear things up, though. My son has all the LeapPad books, but half of them are unsalvageable because of my toddler that likes to chew on EVERYTHING.The LeapFrog customer service is awesome, though... they have replaced my books for $10 each so I don't have to go out to buy new ones!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Toy I have ever bought
I bought a pink and purple LeapPad for my daughter when she was three for Christmas. She is five now and still plays with it every single day. Everytime a birthday or Christmas rolls around she asks for more LeapPad books. This toy has been a godsend during car and plane trips, hotel and restaurant entertainment, and any other situation when children need to sit still.

She has learned the alphabet, numbers, spelling, and reading from countless hours on this pad. She owns several books and each get used all the time. I think this is honestly the best toy invented in a long time. She has been able to figure it out because it is well thought out for the young user. They can hit the stop button with the pen to stop it, or hit the Go button to continue each story. Each book also has games and other activities, so they are well worth the money. It is impossible for my daughter to get bored with it because each book is countless hours of reading, games, music, and excitement.

I encourage all parents of young children to buy this LeapPad. It is well worth the money. It is a toy that they will not grow out of in a short amount of time because the books range in ages.It is not only educational but very durable. Our LeapPad has been dropped countless times and is still intact. The only complaint I do have is that it tends to consume batteries quickly and you need a screw driver to take off the cover to put new ones in. Other than that, that is the only negative I have to say about the LeapPad.

2-0 out of 5 stars Toooo sloooowww for my boy
My boy has the attention span of a 4 year old. Why? Because he is 4 years old. He has no patience for the slow pace of age-appropriate leap pad materials. The learning games are too short, too slow, and too repetitive for him. ... Read more

Second Grade: I Know Where My Food Goes

    Editorial Review

This LeapPad book offers more than a patented, multisensory interface that makes learning to read an active experience: it packs in an important science lesson. While kids trek through the digestive process with Sam, the main character, they will enhance reading comprehension, learn about the digestive system, exercise retentive skills, and learn new words.

It's simple to use (kids insert the cartridge and book into their LeapPads, and use the attached stylus to hear information), but this system is an innovative technology that provides entertaining, effective learning, designed by a Stanford-trained reading expert. As well, the system has been credited with the TMA's Educational Toy of the Year and People's Choice awards. The books are designed to correlate with national academic standards for the grade levels they target.

Two notes: Make sure the LeapPad book you get is appropriate for the child's educational level; this one should be a challenge for kids up to age 8. As well, know that some LeapBooks work on both LeapPad and LeapPad Pro, like this one, but some books only work with one system. --Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the CURIOUS and NOSE-Y
This book is recommended for 6-8 Years Old but I found that 4 year olds love this book, especially those interested in their INputs and OUTputs. This book speaks to them best and the drawings interest them more than the 6-8 yr old group.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this one!
We're big fans of the Leap Pad, as our daughter plays with it constantly and will sit for hours with it on a long car trip. This particular book, unfortunately, is a real dud.Very little interesting information, pointless games, and nothing to entice little ones to learn anything. It's definitely not sophisticated enough for the suggested 6- 8 year old age group, as our 4 1/2 year old is beyond its limited educational value.A real disappointment.

1-0 out of 5 stars Huge disappointment
We've had loads of fun and lots of learning with my daughter's Leap Pad and various books.I thought this would be a great learning tool for digestion with the same caliber of intelligence as the Mammals and Geography books. This was a huge disappointment with very little information regarding digestion and explained in very dumbed down terms. It seems the book was geared more towards the whiney kid in the story and silly bodily function sounds than in educating about digestion and/or nutrition. The games are pointless and interaction is minimal. My daughter spent a total of 10 minutes on this book and hasn't picked it up since, where she plays with her other leap pad books over and over and finds something new or engaging each time. ... Bright froggy green and sky blue, this lightweight butwell-stitched backpack is made just for carrying a LeapPad around in. There'sa special pouch with extra padding for the LeapPad, another that willhold up to four LeapPad books, and little net pouches for four LeapPadcartridges. Velcro fasteners make it easy for a child to secure theflap, which is emblazoned with the leapy frog himself. There areadjustable shoulder straps padded for comfort and a handle forbriefcase-style carrying. The shiny material is surface washable andresistant to stains. --M. Sullivan ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Needs a bit more padding to be perfect.
My 5yr old got the LeapPad writing system for Xmas, and we also needed a way for him to be responsible for his own "laptop computer".Pockets are large and wuite roomy to carry extra books & cartridges, and the two color options (boy vs. girl) is a nice touch.

The nylon fabric seems quite durable, similar to soft-sided suitcases. Will probably clean off easily too. The nylon seems strong enough to be able to hold its shape under "little boy" use for a while.

I wish it had some padding so that when my son wears it, he doesn't have such a hard object banging him on the back. He tends to run a lot. I'm sure he won't even notice all that stuff flopping around behind him, but it's something that wouldn't have been that difficult to incorporate into the design (I believe the Backpack I had some padding).

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a must have for the Leap Pad!
We got this backpack along with the leap pad and 6 other books and gave it to our son as an early Christmas gift.He loves it and the backpack is perfect! He can get everything out and play with his leap pad books and then he puts them all back up in the backpack and when we go somewhere he packs it with him to the car.I never have to worry about him losing his cartridges as they are stored safetly in the backpack pockets and everything is light weight and easy for our 3 1/2 year old to carry by him self.
    GREAT ITEM!

4-0 out of 5 stars Leap to Order
For the price this is a great accessory for your LeapPad!My son gets twice the number of cartridges and books it it with plenty of room to spare. We even have some ziplocks with extras that can fit in no problem. The padded straps are easy on the shoulders and everything is neat and safely transported from grams house to friends to the doctor's office and everywhere in between. If you travel with your little one and their pad this is a great help.

Oh and big deal about the color difference.IF that's such a concern that it warrants a trip back to the store you have WAY too much time on your hands. My advice: use that extra time to read with your child!Life is too short and childhood too precious.

The price is great and IT WORKS just as it should and more.Another great Amazon offering. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good, but Scholastic made a bad call...
As mentioned by a reviewer below, the book would have been better served with "private parts" not covered up by clothes.Sadly, this "covering up" only appears in the English version - the original French edition had all the anatomy uncovered by clothing.

Scholastic made the decision to censor the various "private parts" when they brought out this English edition. And that's a shame. The book is weaker and not nearly as informative as a result.Perols artwork is fantastic and the book is well-presented, but it's a shame such an editorial decision was made.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good book...but why so small??
My grandson enjoyed this book I had sent to him, but his mother and I were disappointed that the book was so small.I expected it to be bigger so that small children could look at bigger pictures.Bigger overlays on bigger pages would have a much better impact on young minds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply great!!
This book has been read over and over (and over!) by my 2 1/2 year old.It is an exceptional introduction to the human body. Most fascinating is the "see-through" section that shows front and back views of different sections of the body such as the skeletal, muscular, and circulatory systems, and every major organ.Very clever!Importantly, the figure depicted in the book is that of a small female child - kids can easily identify with this image! It provides technical/scientific information in a very user-friendly manner.I can't wait to get other books in the series.Highly recommended. ... Editorial Review

For the non-Australians out there, the Wiggles are a quartet of malesongbirds reminiscent of the Monkees, but aimed at the Barney-watching set. The Down Under foursome sings about mashed bananas and hot potatoes, dances with the energy of fitness instructors, and makes mild attempts at beingeducational. (Three of the four met while studying early childhoodeducation.) Their stab at multiculturalism results in the Jewish song"Havenu Shalom Alachem." Joining them are a big green dinosaur named Dorothy(seem familiar?), Henry the giant purple octopus, Wags the Dog, and a man in apirate suit called Captain Feathersword. The songs are catchy, the dancingvigorous, and the outfits colorful approximations of the uniforms worn by theoriginal crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. A couple of the haircuts looklikethey might have been acquired on the spaceship as well. The 15-song videoruns 33 minutes long and claims to be appropriate for ages 1-8, but will mostlikely appeal to preschoolers and kindergartners. --Kimberly Heinrichs ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Did not care for this dvd
I have only 2 dvd's and this is my least favorite.I would not recommend this one.The one we like is Wiggly Play Time, but that is the only other one I have seen.

1-0 out of 5 stars Completely Skippable
Our two year old loves the TV shows & his Wiggles CDs, but he is not interested in this DVD.It is simply songs strung together, with little or no dialog and no plot (which our child really enjoys, and frankly, makes it easier for me to sit through, strange as that may sound).
Most songs are performed on the same basic set, which is just a sky & clouds background.
Also, as many reviewers have said, the puppets are terrible. I think they will give ME nightmares. They are AWFUL!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars See why I deducted a star...
This is a fair DVD. Actually, it would be pretty good- my daughter LOVES "Toot Toot" and I bought this one thinking it would be similar yet with different songs. BUT, this video weirdly contains some segments of "animated Wiggles"- I think these come up when Jeff falls asleep and the other Wiggles are wondering what he sees in his dream world. The animated Wiggles are VERY HIGHLY annoying to me- they sing at high speed and sound like The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, Theodore!)....also the animations are bobbleheaded and just look plain scary, not at all cute.

What's more important than my own opinion on it is this is for the kids, and my 1 year old won't watch the animated parts. The first time she saw them it scared her but now she just isn't interested. She doesn't understand why everything goes all frantic and high pitched. Not a hit with her. She's 1, so I can't say how an older kid would like this or not. I know it irritates me. I guess an older kid (3?) would probably be amused.

However: the rest of the video is really good, the songs are catchy and food-themed.Fruit Salad, Hot Potato, etc. This is GREAT. The animation only makes up a small part of the video, so other than that I give this video 2 thumbs up.

I like this DVD just not the animated clips. So I know not to buy the video that features the animations! ... Read more

The Wiggles are Australia's hottest children's entertainment andit's easy to see why. This 40-minute video is packed with 16 fun songsthat make children want to dance and, yes, wiggle.Greg Page, the main vocalist, has a pleasing, folksy voice reminiscent of Canada's Raffi.Murray Cookand Anthony Field accompany on guitar, Jeff Fatt accompanies on accordionand keyboard, and all three dance, wiggle, and teach kids song-specificmovements and lyrics. The songsthemselves have imaginative lyrics and catchy melodies, a fact that hintsat Anthony, Murray, and Greg's backgrounds in early childhood education.Costarring with this foursome are four lovable, costumed characters:Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, and Wags the Dog. The majority of the video features Greg, Murray, Anthony, and Jeff onuncluttered sets with simple background props that set the mood withoutdistracting viewers from the musical experience. The latter portion of the video features several liveperformances ("Wags the Dog," "Five Little Ducks," "Wiggly Medley") fromThe Wiggles Big Show. Another great video from the wiggles. My triplets (19 months) love this one along with Yummy Yummy and Toot Toot.2 of my children have very limited vision but love the songs and seeing the colors (if they'd wear their glasses they would see more!) My 3rd is special needs but she certainly loves this one.It has great songs and a great format.I'd definitely recommend this one!

5-0 out of 5 stars WIGGLERIFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!THEIR BEST EVER!!!
This is their best video by far.My 18 month old son love it from beginning to end.He sings, dance, and mock all the characters......it is sooooo funny.Everyone enjoy watching him perform with the Wiggles.

This is the first DVD I bought for him; and, every other after CANNOT compare. It is so disappointing. There are no plots, just dance, dance, dance. He's too young and gets frustruated with the others and the plots; he literally wants me to fastforward to a song or change it back to "Wiggle Time."

If anyone knows of another similar please let me know!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Songs!
The Wiggles: Wiggle Time is a great children's video with lots of catchy tunes and colorful scenes! My 17 month old loves it!He claps and bounces to the music! The tunes are very entertaining and the Wiggles are a group of very energetic guys with loads of enthusiasm for what they do!It's very infectious and I can see why they are very popular with the kids! This is my first Wiggles DVD and so far so good!

Some of the catchier tunes are Dorothy the Dinosaur and the Quack Quack Song and many more!I think the Wiggles have the right formula for wholesome entertainment..especially for younger kids!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute Book, Realistic Situations
In the beginning of Mayer's book, our hero looks straight at the reader, slightly lifts both arms, and states: "Sometimes I remember, sometimes I just forget."For example he (or she?-it's difficult to tell the gender in this "Little Critter" book) puts his dishes in the sink, but forgets to put away the milk.Humorous twists on the `I remembered this, but forgot this' motif lift this book above the ordinary. For example: "I didn't forget to feed the goldfish, he just didn't look hungry," and, after a bath, "I didn't use soap, but I didn't forget to.I just don't like to."His mother is alternately tired, frustrated, and amused, and the clever story ends on a warm note. This is a sweet and simple story that manages to cover many familiar situations with honesty and empathy for all involved. Watch for the little mouse friend on every page!

5-0 out of 5 stars Everyone forgets sometimes
This was a funny book. It reminded me a lot of myself and how I leave things on or don't put them away on accident. Another part that reminded me of how I am is how little critter said they didn't forget to close the refridgerator he was just not done eating. I always leave the t.v. on in a room and come back to it because I'm still watching it. This book I think was made to say that you never forget the important things and the things that really matter. It also lets kids know that everyone is forgetful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Read
This book taught kids it's ok to forget somethings in life, but it also teaches them they cannot forget a lot of things, like how much they love their parents. but if you forget minor things like washing the dishes it's ok. I enjoy reading Mercer Mayer books, he can really connect with kids and get on their level, I think kids pick up on the morals. You may get into trouble if you forget things, but all kids do.. ... This book is about a critter that lost his baseball mit in his messy room and needs to find it.... I would recommend this book to children ages 3-12, because they'll have fun finding out that they do almost the same thing sometimes.

This book teaches you that you should always keep your room clean and organized so you'll always know where everthing is.You should listen to your mom for tips too.

4-0 out of 5 stars You never grow out of this one
The boy in this book reminds me so much of myself. I always have a dirty room that my mom is constantly telling me to vaccume or pick up the clothes on the floor. Just like the boy in the book I lose stuff and end up finding it in my room somewhere, it's mostly clothes. I like the ending of the book it shows that you should clean your room. Maybe, no like him, though. He was stuffing things under the bed and in the closet. Lastly, this book has great pictures and I think everyone can relate to the boy in it.

I don't see all the hype in this portable gaming device. The games graphics are so terrible (So is Game Boy Advance). The only good Nintendo graphics is the brand new Nintendo DS which has Nintendo 64 graphics which isn't too shabby. But I really hate the Pocket and Color because it's a waste of money. Why would you get something in black and white with terrible graphics and then get one with only some colors (It's not that good) and plus the addition of bad graphics...now that's what I call a bad deal.

4-0 out of 5 stars great and fun
this isnt bad i have it and it works great i think this is better then alot of older systems like game boy or super nt but still its a good system.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok..... but not as good as ngpc.
I got this system last year and it worked fine until a month ago. then the sound blew out. Also the graphics on many games suck. Still it's a hardysystem and I would recommend buying it if you like a classic look in color, but if you want something with good graphics, nice small comfortable size, and a motherload of great games, buy an NGCP(neogeo pocket color). ... Pokemon Pinball

    Editorial Review

For those a little poky about catching onto the Pokémon craze, thisgame is a great way for the uninitiated to get their feet wet. Also, pinball fanatics shouldnot dismiss this as a kid's game, because it's a solid pinball game, regardless of thePokémon brand.

Two Pokémon-themed tables, Red and Blue, are here for players to bounce thePokéball around in hopes of catching up to 150 Pokémon monsters. Themonsters are collected by hitting targets on the pinball tables, and once collected, themonsters can be perused in the popular Pokédex format. Owners of the GameBoy printer can print their prize collections and mount their characters on the wall, if theyso desire. Unfortunately, the monsters collected in Pokémon Pinballcannot be traded with other Pokémon monsters from the Red, Blue, or Yellowgames, making this game a stand-alone product. A unique aspect of the game is that it hasa built-in rumble pack, which vibrates and shakes the Game Boy system as thePokéball bounces around the screen. --Jeff Young

    Pros:

    • A great way for non-Pokéheads to get into the action
    • A respectable pinball game
    • High replayability
    Cons:
    • Can't trade Pokémon with ones from the Pokémon Red, Blue, orYellow games

    3-0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars - a good pinball game
The video games in the Pokemon franchise are very hit or miss. For every Pokemon Gold or Pokemon Silver, there's a Pokemon Snap or Hey You Pikachu to bring the series back down. In 1999, Nintendo decided to try their hand at something a little different with the Pokemon characters - a pinball game. Is this one of the hits in the series, or one of the misses? Read on for my review.

    PROS:
-Perhaps the greatest thing about this game is that you don't have to be a Pokemon fan to enjoy it.
-The game contains a good deal more depth than your average pinball game.
-There is an element of Pokemon capturing, which makes this a very interesting game.
-There are two different tables, one of which has monsters not found on the other and vice versa
-There are a number of bonus events as well.

    CONS:
-Let's face the facts, no pinball game can hold your attention forever.
-The rumble feature doesn't contribute anything to the game.
-There are only TWO tables - more would have been nice.
-Since this is a Pokemon game, many hardcore gamers may be reluctant to try it.

    OVERALL:
Overall this is a good pinball game, and one of the hits in the Pokemon series. If you've got a Game Boy, this here is a game worth checking out. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's sure to kill some time for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon Pinball
Okay, I am not a pokemon fan at all, but I have to say that I love this game. You can choose from two different tables, red or blue. This game can become very addicting. If you are a pinball fan and not a pokemon fan, you can still enjoy this game. I highly recommened it.

A basic bucket of large DUPLO blocks is one of the most engrossing andenduring toys a toddler can receive--and there's never too much of the stuff. This convenient green pail, complete with snap-on top and carrying handle, contains 79 big pieces. It includes lots of basic blocks in a variety of colors, but also two "cars," a giraffe, a human figure, and a flexing, multi-piecetunnel, perfect for making slides on miniature play structures. we love lego duplo, my son (just 3) already had the smaller green bucket and he got this for christmas to add to his collection.lego duplo is so versatile, its wonderful.about this set in particular i like the little vehicles which we didnt have.they can become anything with wheels! and of course the tubing that fits together and the ball that slides through it.i recommend this for any child who like to build things and use their imagination, it is something that will never wear out or go out of style, a truly great toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Duplo blocks are the Best!
We started buying and recieving Duplo blocks when my son turned one.We eventually turned an old coffee table into a large duplo table because they had become such a favorite at our house. There is no other toy that has held my son and now daughter (20 months) interest like these blocks. They end up playing with them almost every day and become completely engrossed in what they are doing.I would also recommend the Duplo animal sets and the Duplo train sets if you can find them. ... Sometimes the creative impulse can't be restrained, as evidencedby the countless juvenile masterpieces created on living room walls. TheCrayola Color Wonder Marker and Activity Tote will let the parents oflittle Picassos and O'Keefes breathe a little easier, knowing that theeight markers will only color on the special paper provided by Crayola. The 36-page activity book that comes inside the tough green 11-by-14-inchmesh carrying case has plenty of undersea coloring pictures andpuzzles to keep kids happy, and plenty more is available. The markersreally are amazing--they don't leave marks anywhere but on the uniquepaper, and they don't smell as toxic as other markers. --RobLightner ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!!!Must Have!!!!
The Crayola Color Wonder Markers are the best ever. I first bought these for my daughter on her first birthday she will be three in june. she loves the markers, activity books and also the finger paints. She has used both the finger paints and markers in the doctors office, at church, in the car (she has dropped the markers on the leather interior and it didnt stain), on our trip to disneyworld and so on. She even uses them on several different hardwood tables around the house without staining them. My child is very energetic and can get carried away while playing or coloring and has even colored on the floor, wall, door, sofa and dog all without staining them.My daughter has regular crayons and markers but rarely uses them, she prefers the Color Wonder Markers. This is a must have if you have toddlers and need to keep them entertained on the go or any time.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Daughter Loves Color Wonder Markers!
My daughter, now 18 months old, has been playing with these since she was about a year old and just learning to hold a pen. They draw much easier than crayons, and she can get a better variety of effects with less effort.

She is VERY good about just coloring on the paper, but I'm sure they've hit both the coffee table and our kitchen table (both real wood, but with a good finish on them) and we haven't had any problems with stains.

One of the things I like best is they don't break like crayons when they hit the tile floor.

She has almost as much fun taking the caps on and putting them back on as she does coloring. The handy carry case ensures that everything is together when you need it.It's also very handy for sitting together on the couch and coloring. This has been one of her favorite toys.

The workbook that comes with it is definitely too big girl, but I go to the store and just buy the blank paper and let her go.It is more expensive than regular paper, but we make sure we use the whole sheet!

I would recommend this product to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best thing since sliced bread!
My daughter has been using these markers since she was old enough to hold one. She is 5 now and still never gets tired of coloring with these and as a mom I love the fact that there is no mess. I am a bit shocked to see all teh reviews about ruined wood. I have not had that problem so I cant say yay or nay to it.. However I think the product was designed for accidental over the page scribbles not for children who like to draw on everything but the paper. I have never had a problem with my daughter trying to use these markers on anything but the paper, and for the most part she lays down on the floor to color with them. The worst problem I have had is getting her to put the caps back on.HA HA!I would have to say ruined furniture (with the exception of coloring surfaces such as desks and tables)from these markers is not the blame of faulty markers but faulty discipline. If your child has a tendency to color on walls and other object other than where they are suppose to be coloring, I wouldnt buy these markers for them, nor any drawing utensils for that matter. But these markers are perfect for the child who doesnt color perfectly on the page, has a tendency to leave the cap off (no ink stains on the floor!)and enjoys the "magic" that it introduces when they first draw on the paper! ... Uno My 1st Card Game
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Toy

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Nickelodeon has made America's No. 1 card game even more fun for families and kids to play. Draw, match, and discard. But be sure to call "Uno!" on your last card. With images of Angelica, Baby Dill, and other rascally Rugrats cartoon characters on the cards, the game is faster and more fun than ever. The first one to discard his or her last card (and rack up points) can call "Uno" with a Rugrats twist, parodying Angelica ("Don't I look Uno?"), Chuckie ("Uno, little kid, Uno!"), or Tommy Pickles ("I got an Uno!"). They'll be in conniptions. --Ava Natov ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My How Fast They Learn!
The ORIGINAL UNO was one of my favorite games as a youngster. I tried of course playing with my son, but he just ended up frustrated with me. It wasn't that he didn't like the game it was that he just couldn't play. It was too much, too fast for him. Enter these cards! My First UNO with Rugrats made me want to try again. I thought hey, why not, it's only a few bucks. So home it came to give it a test run with my six-year-old officer (you'll see why I called him a officer later!)to be!

    Awww mom, not uno!!

Were the words I heard muttered from my son's mouth. I told him to be patient, it was a UNO even he might enjoy. NO way he states, that game is Boooooooooooooring (in his best Angelica voice). I whip out the red packaging with Tommy, Angelica, and Chuckie on the cover. His eyes get bright and he smiles. 'See', I state, ' Perhaps this will change your mind'. I pull the plastic apart from the cardboard backing, and release the package containing the deck of cards. 36 cards matter of fact, that are in fact bigger and easier to read. The rules of the game are pretty much the same, but of course a little easier.

The outcome? My son won (I took one for the team)and now loves UNO! Of course he has now become "The you didn't say UNO police!" See the rules state that if you have one card remaining and don't say UNO! the other player can call you on it and you have to choose 2 more cards.

    See how fast they learn?

4-0 out of 5 stars A good first UNO game
I bought this game for two reasons - I love games, and I have a 5-year old that I want to love games as much as I do.

To that end, I found that Rugrats Uno was a shoe-in. There are fewer cards than a normal Uno game, and the cards are bigger, so they're easier for kids to hold and see. The game has just the right amount of strategy for a 5-year old (e.g. he gets to think about what color he wants to call when he lays a wild card).

This is the first real card game he's played, and we play it plenty. The game says it can be played by kids aged 3 and up. I can't imagine Austen playing it when he was three, but maybe if you've got an exceptionally bright child.

5-0 out of 5 stars wait it later
I tried it the first time last Sunday. We are the foriegn students coming from tokyo university. I was taught it by a student from Swiss. I like it very much. Now i decided to buy one. ... Read more
