5-0 out of 5 stars AWSOME G.I.JOE CREATION
This box is awsome! It comes with alot of acesories. The bad thing is sometimes when the box flips over and you have your things inside, they might get mixed up with other things. But who cares,it has alot of room for things and comes with some acesories.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Buy
This is a fairly good item that every serious GI Joe collector should have. One such locker can hold 2, 12" figures and a ton of different accessories.

Thanks to this little box I don't have a single lost or broken piece and my figures look brand new!

The accessories accompanying the item are very realistic and look just like the real weapons and equipment.Very educational and true to the military.

The only defect I had was a loose barrel on my M16A2, - rather than that it's a good deal and a great addition to any GI Joe collection.

    G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool GI JOE Locker!
I got this for my birthday and it now holds all of my GI Joe's
special equipment. It is cool because it has a special 'lock' on it which keeps it from opening unless I want it to.I have carried it with me on alot of different trips and it is still in very good shape.Any kid with alot of GI Joe stuff would like it! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

As his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry approaches, 15-year-old Harry Potter is in full-blown adolescence, complete with regular outbursts of rage, a nearly debilitating crush, and the blooming of a powerful sense of rebellion. It's been yet another infuriating and boring summer with the despicable Dursleys, this time with minimal contact from our hero's non-Muggle friends from school. Harry is feeling especially edgy at the lack of news from the magic world, wondering when the freshly revived evil Lord Voldemort will strike. Returning to Hogwarts will be a relief... or will it?

The fifth book in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series follows the darkest year yet for our young wizard, who finds himself knocked down a peg or three after the events of last year. Somehow, over the summer, gossip (usually traced back to the magic world's newspaper, the Daily Prophet) has turned Harry's tragic and heroic encounter with Voldemort at the Triwizard Tournament into an excuse to ridicule and discount the teen. Even Professor Dumbledore, headmaster of the school, has come under scrutiny by the Ministry of Magic, which refuses to officially acknowledge the terrifying truth that Voldemort is back. Enter a particularly loathsome new character: the toadlike and simpering ("hem, hem") Dolores Umbridge, senior undersecretary to the Minister of Magic, who takes over the vacant position of Defense Against Dark Arts teacher--and in no time manages to become the High Inquisitor of Hogwarts, as well. Life isn't getting any easier for Harry Potter. With an overwhelming course load as the fifth years prepare for their Ordinary Wizarding Levels examinations (O.W.Ls), devastating changes in the Gryffindor Quidditch team lineup, vivid dreams about long hallways and closed doors, and increasing pain in his lightning-shaped scar, Harry's resilience is sorely tested.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, more than any of the four previous novels in the series, is a coming-of-age story. Harry faces the thorny transition into adulthood, when adult heroes are revealed to be fallible, and matters that seemedblack-and-white suddenly come out in shades of gray. Gone is the wide-eyed innocent, the whiz kid of Sorcerer's Stone. Here we have an adolescent who's sometimes sullen, often confused (especially about girls), and always self-questioning. Confronting death again, as well as a startling prophecy, Harry ends his year at Hogwarts exhausted and pensive. Readers, on the other hand, will be energized as they enter yet again the long waiting period for the next title in the marvelous, magical series. (Ages 9 and older) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good
The 5th Harry Potter Book was good-yet did not measure up to the first four for these reasons:

    a. Harry was real whiny! Where did our adoriable little boy go?What made Harry so likeable in the first four books were his sweetness- and slight sarcasm. He was funny, natural, and seemed like the kid next door that you could talk to, yet might tease you lightly. Now Harry has really become a teenager (his years as 13 and 14 were just prelimainary), and a cranky, irrating, sharp, smart-mouthed one at that.I do understand what he was going through, and how it must have been twice as hard, as half the wizarding world think he's nuts, and he doesn't have any parents, yet I wish that he would cut out the drama- and now I really do understand what my parents must go through everyday. In this book Harry additude was just to-hellish.

b.The length. Now, I am no stranger to long books-I have read books longer than the Harry Potter books (people must remeber that they are double spaced, and in big font), yet the irrating thing about the lenght of this particualar book was that a lot of it were totally uneccesary-it seemed like JK didn't want to diassapoint fans with a short book, so added a lot of unneccesary points to this book.In fact, the first and the last couple chapters were all you needed to be perfectly set for the next book(which I am waiting for feverently!)

    Now for the GOOD POINTS!

a.It's a Harry Potter book! That in itself makes it great-one thing I like about these books is that you can always expect a book which is a joy to read over and over again.

b.The other characters remained the same.Even though JK gave Harry a makeover, she wisely refrained from changing the other characters personality(though to be fair, Harry is the youngest of Ron and Hermione, which accounts for a bit of maturity)

    c. suspense.JK captures the element of suspense perfectly-which helped save this book. You wanted to keep reading(even if the part you were on was a bit dull) to find out what would happen next.

    d. Humor.JK knows that what makes her books so enjoyable is that their the complete package-which includes humor. She nevers forgets to add in quirky, funny moments which make the book really enjoyable.

e.Ties up lose ends.Harry is growing up, and this book gently shows us that the time is drawing nearer for Harry to meet Voldermort.Ahh.. the plot has thicked!

Must read for everyone-just prepare to be slightly dissapointed if you are a devoted Harry Potter Fan!And you know what... I think I'm going to go and read it again!

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the same as the other four...
Note that this book is very good, and had it not been part of a series, it would have easily achieved the precious five stars. It is part of a series, though, and so it only got four...

Before dedicated Harry Potter fanatics go bananas on me, hear me out. The first four books are astounding, and so is the fifth. So why the four stars? The fifth is just so different. The fifth seems as if it was written by a new author. Sometimes I wondered if the beloved children's series was still for children. The Order of the Phoenix is a darker tale. The language is sooo different. Harry's way, way, way too different: it's not the standard jump between 14 and 15, or the standard jump between losing someone he loves, or knowing the person who wants to kill you is on your trail and no one gives a hoot. He's just not the same, selfless Harry.

I give one reason for this. The story flows better for a movie. There's a little less magic, so to speak, take that both literally and not literally. More conflict, less of the issues that were left out in the movies. (Which are a complete injustice, by the way.) The fifth book, simply put, doesn't have the same charm as the other four. I hope to see it back in the next book. (By the way, even the, mildest Harry Potter fan should get this book. It is impossible to put down, and you don't even notice how different it is until you finish it.)

5-0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT!!!!!
i absolutely loved this book, and i dont understand why many reviews complained about the length of it, i actaully enjoyed reading it, and when i was finished with it i read it again, and again, and i couldnt get enough of it, i was dying to know what happens next, and im still dying to know what happens next that i cant wait for the sixth book to be released. i kept reading over the fifth book hoping to find clues as to what happens in the sixth book. i think Rowling is such an amazing and talented writer and she knows exactly how to keep her fans in suspense, and i know that im probably going to be shocked and surprised when i read the sixth book, coz thats what Rowling does, she keeps you in suspense for a long time, and then surprises you in her next book with the events of the story. For example in the fifth book, i was shocked when Sirius died and was very upset for the longest time that he was dead, although i have a feeling he will somehow return or maybe just appear in the next books, i was also surprised at how bad things turned out between Cho and Harry, and it just annoyed me when noone would believe Harry that Lord Voldemort was back. thats why i love reading these books, coz Rowling puts you in the mood of reading them and she knows exactly how to make you feel with every character...i hope the sixth book is as awesome as i expect it to be! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars simply the best...
cant help but to give two thumbs up...it's nice to read a story about a mother's love, great friendship, story with atwist and humor and most especially with a plot and setting that definitely would take your imaginations to the highest level in one package...so hold on to your seats and be ready for the stories that this extraordinaire would leave you spellbound!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars What can I say?
It's Harry Potter, what can I say? It's the series that got kids reading again.Everyone knows the plot.A boy wizard named Harry grew up with his cruel muggle (non-magic) aunt and uncle after his parents were killed in a car crash. At the age of 11 he's informed that he's a wizard, and that an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort murdered his parents and very nearly killed him.His aunt and uncle dissaproved of the world of magic and tried to keep everything a secret from Harry. He's taken away to live at a castle called Hogwarts, a school for young witches and wizards where he befriends the studious, proper Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasly, a poor boy who lives in the shadow of his brothers Charlie, Percy, Bill, and Fred and George. In book 1, Harry arrives at Hogwarts and finds that someone there is secretly trying to destroy him and is hiding a VERY big secret from the rest of the school.

In book 2, an unknown assailant is attacking students and everyone thinks Harry's doing it.We learn that no less than THREE characters are not what they seem.We are also introduced to Ron's younger sister Ginny, who has a crush on Harry.

In book 3, a murderous madman is on the loose and seems to be coming after Harry. But who, exactly is he?And the very LAST character you'd ever suspect of being evil reveals his true self.

In book 4, Harry is enrolled in the Triwizard Tournament, where three different magical schools select students to compete in daring, dangerous tests of school.Harry also attends the Quidditch world cup with the Weasleys and has a frightening run in with Voldemort and his servant in a graveyard. One character is tragically killed (I actually cried) at Voldemort's hand.

Book 4 is probably my favorite, along with 1, but there's really no such thing as a bad Harry Potter book. The movies are fantastic as well, and the sixth book is due out in a few months.

5-0 out of 5 stars works of art
These books are the best I've ever read.I'm 25 years old and I find myself anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. After each book you really feel as though you've spent a school year with these characters. They are a must read for any fantasy fan.Surely these books will go down in history as classic works of great fiction. The author truly understands how to develop characters, you will find yourself genuinely caring about what happens to them.Congratulations to the author for creating a series that has been, and I'm sure will continue to be enjoyed by millions around the world. ... Pretty Brittany Murphy and prettier Ashton Kutcher make a surprisinglyenjoyable comic team in Just Married, a romantic comedy about a horriblehoneymoon. After a whirlwind romance, radio traffic announcer Kutcher and richgirl Murphy get married over the objections of her upper-crust family. Theirlove can overcome snobbery--but as the cuddly pair start to drive each othernuts over mishaps traveling through Europe, it starts to look like their lovecan't overcome intimacy. Just Married has a sprightly script that keepsone foot on the ground (unlike some recent romantic comedies that seem to haveno connection to reality) and one eye on the small ways in which lovers can geton each other's nerves. Kutcher (Dude, Where's My Car?) and Murphy(Clueless, 8 Mile) have a sweet yet volatile chemistry that keepsthe antics lively. --Bret Fetzer ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars painfully laugh free
I'll give the leads the benefit of the doubt that they're actually a lot better than this lame-o-flick deserves. Kutcher and Murphy are Tom and Sara, the mismatched couple that loves itself to pieces in this story which strains for laughs. After a whirlwind romance, Sara introduces Tom to her tony Beverly Hills family. They marry and the rest (much like their marriage) is quickly history. Things go bad from the wedding night (bloody noses, no sex) and only get worse. After Tom nearly burns down the French Chalet that Sara booked them into (after a fatal misunderstanding involving voltage differences in Europe and an electric sex-toy), and compounds problems by taking them to the worst hotel in Venice (cockroaches, dust and no sex), our heroes quickly realize that they are on the Honeymoon-from-hell. At first they gamely make a go of it, not realizing that they're only saving their tension for the perfect moment.

"Just Married" was a simple idea for a flick. People have been laughing at marriage for years. Maybe that's why the jokes seem forced - the sex-toy fiasco painfully illustrates how far the script will go to get a laugh, and we get that one early on. Every joke is actually half of a joke about Sara and Tom can't have sex, climaxing (really, no pun intended - I mean it!) when Sara tricks custom's inspectors into giving her hated hubby a full-rectal exam (cut to the scene of Tom walking bow-legged onto the plane; obviously he's the victim, but in the perverse logic of this unsexual non-comedy, you've got to wonder whether Tom is actually the victor - he at least got some.) The script can't get past a monumental plot gap: Tom and Sara really don't have anything in common - you'd think they'd have learnt and gotten past their foibles while they dated, but the story skips past much of that. Tom's the hero, but he's an idiot - the script makes him out as the ugly American, an utterly dated cliche (he's surprised that nobody in Europe watches American baseball; he's the kind of idiot who uses "American" instead of "English" when referring to language - as in "Why isn't there a sign in American warning against using US voltage sex-toys in France?"The laughs are far and few in between - the best ones involve cars (both the ridiculous sub-compact they rent in France, and the Dodge Barracuda (at least I think it's a `Cuda) that Tom drives - a monster which was probably meant to remind us about "That 70's show" but which looks like a prop from the "Phantasm" movies. If ever there was a flick that needed help from "The Tall Man", this is it.

    1-0 out of 5 stars No Stars....No Plot....No Point....
Somewhere, at some time in the past, someone suggested, coached or inspired Ashton Kutcher to pursue an acting career. That person should be located, brought out into the public square... and flogged....

One star because it's required for posting....and no soup...

    Editorial Review

The Lizzie McGuire Movie spins around the axis of Disney Channel starlet Hilary Duff, whose glossy good looks and rather mature figure are balanced by a sweetly bashful persona and an endearing klutziness. On a school trip to Rome, Lizzie is discovered to be the virtual twin of an Italian pop star named Isabella--and her dreamy former partner wants Lizzie to take Isabella's place at an award show to avoid a lawsuit. Only Lizzie's loyal best friend Gordo (Adam Lamberg) suspects that Paolo may not be all that he seems. The Lizzie McGuire Movie is competent fluff, but the most fun to be had actually comes from Lizzie's pesky little brother (Jake Thomas) and his Machiavellian friend Melina (Carly Schroeder), who plot to humiliate Lizzie for fun and personal gain. Also featuring Alex Borstein (Mad TV) as Lizzie's tyrannical principal and chaperone. --Bret Fetzer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This Is What Dreams Are Made Of
The Lizzie McGuire movie is aimed primarily for teen girls, but their mothers will enjoy it too.The effervescent Hilary Duff stars as typical teen Lizzie, who has just made a huge spectacle of herself at her eighth grade graduation.Luckily, Lizzie is off to Rome with her high school principal-to-be (Alex Borstein of Miss Swan/Mad TV fame) and a group of her new classmates, including snobby Kate and her best friend Gordo.

In Rome, Lizzie runs into dreamy Italian Paolo, (Yani Gellman) who is struck by Lizzie's beauty and innocent charm.Paolo wants her to fill in for his singing partner, Isabella (also played by Duff) to whom Lizzie bears a striking resemblance. But Ms. Ungermeyer is a strict chaperone, and anyone caught breaking the rules will be on a plane back home. Will Lizzie choose the daring route or the safe one, and what will the consequences be for her and her friends?

The pop songs in this music are upbeat and inspiring, as are the scenes of Rome.Lots of comedy and good acting with great messages for all ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars "This is what dreams are made of"
I love this movie. I loved at the end when Hilary sings. good movie.Oh, and Rome has pretty scenery.

1-0 out of 5 stars Yikes.
Wow, I must say that this movie has no redeeming qualities. First off, every actor is in desperate need of acting lessons, or, in lieu of acting lessons, a punch in the throat. Yes, the acting was that bad. The opening montage sets the pace for the rest of the movie, assuming you consider "Hey look, we're in a city, why are my ears assaulted by the screaming of demons?" to be a pace. This movie was horrible, and Disney has disappointed before, but this is one of their absolute worst. ... Read more

In the breezy Maid in Manhattan, a maid in a top-flight hotel(Jennifer Lopez, Out of Sight, The Wedding Planner) chances todress in a guest's clothes just when a handsome political candidate (RalphFiennes, Schindler's List, Red Dragon) walks in. Naturally, he'sbowled over and pursues her; he's initially drawn to her gorgeous good looks butsoon comes to appreciate her honesty and common sense. Of course, she can't lethim know that she's only a maid, and various high jinks ensue--it's all prettyformulaic, but lurking in the edges of this glossy, brainless romance are awealth of sly turns by Natasha Richardson and Amy Sedaris (as callowsocialites), Bob Hoskins (as a dignified butler), Stanley Tucci (as Fiennes'exasperated campaign manager), and many less familiar faces. All help to giveMaid in Manhattan the life and texture that has been processed out of themain characters. --Bret Fetzer ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars "Working Girl" (2002)
Since fourteen years had passed, Hollywood decided to recycle the successful "Working Girl" story once more. This time instead of a secretary from Staten Island, we get a maid from The Bronx. Both women have career advancement on their minds. Most of the action for both woman takes place in Manhattan where they work. They both pose as upper class woman, wearing someone else's designer clothes (in the $5,000.00 price range), as they set their sights on a handsome man whose out of their league. They both have a wisecracking friend to confide in & co-workers to cheer them on. All sorts of mistaken identity mishaps ensue for both working girls. "Maid In Manhattan" throws in an appealing, cute kid. Both films have happy, fairy tale outcomes where they get their men, & advance in their careers. The only thing is "Working Girl" (with Melanie Griffth) did this much better. The premise is tired & stale at this point. It all seems to make "Maid In Manhattan" look like a very long mediocre sitcom, & you can't help but compare it to all the other films it spawned from, which is very distracting

4-0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Modern-Day Cinderella Story
about an overworked, underappreciated Latina maid working in a prestigious hotel hooking up with a wealthy, uber-WASP senator, whose father was govenor of the state.

Please watch this flick, you'll probably fall in love with someone out of one's league in the future!

4-0 out of 5 stars "Maid in Manhattan"
Both Ebert and Roeper give "Two Thumbs Up!" to Maid in Manhattan starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes. Pat Collins says "The best romantic comedy since Pretty Women." I say,"It'll make you laugh and cry at the same time."
This movie is extaordinary and brilliant. You'll have to watch the movie for yourself to see what I mean. This movie is very different from other movies. Your going to laugh and cry your heart out.
Some good things about the movie was that Marisa Ventura(Jennifer L.)is a single mother who supports her 10 year-old son by working as a maid in Manhattan. One evening Marisa was trying on her hotel guest's clothes persuaded by her friend who is also a maid, when she met Christopher Marshall(Ralph f.)they spent the day together and fell in love.
Unfortunately, some of the bad things were that he mistaked her as a wealthy socialite. When her true identity is revealed, the issues of class threated to seperate them. Pretty soon, Marisa Ventura has to choose between love or her job. This movie has a unsuspecting ending and I never get tired of watching it. ... Read more
