This is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth pegboard set with big, colorful pegs that are ideally sized for small fingers but too big to swallow. Designed to build eye/hand coordination, fine-motor skills, math skills, and color recognition in 2-to-5-year-olds, the Tall-Stacker Pegs & Pegboard Set includes 25 colorful pegs, a crepe rubber pegboard, and suggested activities for parents to help get children started. --Chris Livesay ... 4-0 out of 5 stars mom_of 16month_old
I purchesed this toy from an educational store looking for something to travel with and something without batteries. We bought it 2 months ago when my son was 14 months old and he liked it right away. It only took him several hours to figure out how to stack them. He plays with them every day and his color preferences are showing up while he plays with the pegs (he picks out all the orange ones first). He works both hands on his own when trying to stack the pegs. I think it has helped him in learning how to hold crayons. The only dislikes I have with this toy is the foam mat and the thin plastic wall in the center of the pegs. My son is still at that age were he bites everything and sometimes I think that if he worked at it enough he could chew a corner of the mat. We had one of the center hole walls break the other day and found the piece on the floor. So I would inspect them every so often. Also, try to teach your kids to hold the pegs down low as to not poke themselves in the eye when trying to stack the pegs with out the mat. It happened to our son--nothing severe just alot of crying. Overall it's a great toy and worth the money. I would definately purchase it as a gift for other children as well. Our son gets very excited when I ask him if he wants to play with his pegs. :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun but a little flimsy
My 21-month-old loves stacking things and sticking things into other things. So this toy was perfect for him, except that the base should be made of something a little more sturdy. It's rather flimsy rubberized material. He can't play with it in his crib or on my bed. He has to place it on a table or something else with a hard surface. Other than that, he seems to really like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for the kids
I bought this because my son used to play this in OT sessions. He loved it and it really helps him to concentrate, use both hands (motor skills).

I will recommend this to everyone (1+year kids) ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Pretending to be a grownup is a favorite pastime of toddlers everywhere. And with this Sizzle 'N Glow Grill from Fisher-Price, the budding chef in your family can enjoy an afternoon of barbecue fun while safely "cooking" up a variety of faux favorites, including pretend hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken legs. An adult will have to help with assembly, but once set up the grill is very easy to use. Two AA batteries (not included) are all your pintsize gourmet will need to power up the grill's glowing briquettes and authentic cooking and sizzling sounds. Along with realistic accessories like a flip-down warming rack and a storage tray, the grill comes with all the requisite cooking utensils. The Sizzle 'N Glow Grill can be safely used inside the house, or little ones can set it up on the back patio so they can keep an eye on Mom or Dad when they are cooking on the "real" grill. --Chris Burns ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bummer
This grill was for our 3yr old son who absolutely loves it, however, it arrived broken. The batteries hold is broken, so it does not sizzle or glow.I called Fisher-Price, but they no longer make this grill and had no more in stock so they could not send me a new one.My son still enjoys playing with it, but it's no fun paying for toy that doesn't work like it is supposed to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend
I bought this grill for my 2 year old's birthday after reading the reviews and definitely agree that this is the grill to buy.We had the grill assembled together for my son's birthday party so the kids would have something to play with. All the kids from age 2 to age 5 enjoyed playing with the grill and naturally because of the age group they were fighting over who was going to play with it the most. The grill is sturdy and does not fall over easy but is light enough for my son to move around. My son is that age of imitating everything we do and he really loves to use his grill and act like daddy cooking.I highly recommend this grill over the others.

2-0 out of 5 stars Hard to Pedal and Steer
This tricycle is not worth the money, especially for younger kids.neither of my children could steer or learn to pedal on this, we bought the plastic bikes, and off they went!Maybe this is a good bike for the child who know how to pedal and ride, but definitely not worth it for a first bike!!

5-0 out of 5 stars This thing rocks!
Bought this trike for my 18 month old daughter. At first she would not ride it, because it was not like her stroller (in her words "not stoller").After running into another kiddo cruising through the neighborhood on one, she quickly changed her mind.

Now we can't keep her off of it... woe is me when we go through the garage to get to the car! There is no glue stronger than my daughter's grip on the handlebars of this trike.

She is now 26 months old, and we've twice made the requisite adjustments to the trike (very quick and easy if you take the safety handle off and flip the trike over). She has become very confident riding it with "no touch the bar, daddy" supervision... even with the occasional two-wheeled turn while going down the neighbor's hill.(Don't buy the hype... sharp turns at speed will cause this trike to overturn, just like any other trike will.)

Best of all, a few spins around the block gets her tired, and with good timing, that means more time for daddy and momma to be together ;-D

1-0 out of 5 stars difficult to assemble, broke
This trike was complicated to assemble. The handlebars keep breaking loose from the front wheel due to a poorly designed attachment mechanism. Some of the plastic assesories quickly broke off but they were not much use anyway. ... Read more

A simple, metal-framed trike with a neat and unusual feature: awell-designed dumper bucket at the back. The wide tires are solidrubber, mounted on wheels 8 inches in diameter at the front and 6 atthe back. The dumper has no latch, but sits in a closed position eitherempty or full until tipped at least 30-40 degrees; then it flips almostupside down to release every grain, pebble, block, or piece of candy. The seat, which sits about 10 inches high, is not adjustable.--Richard Farr ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Sturdy Trike
We bought this trike for my daughter's second birthday. She will be five soon. She liked the trike, but had a bit of trouble learning to pedal because the pedals are toward the front and you have to push forward, rather than being on top of the pedals as with a traditional trike. She did learn eventually, though. Her favorite feature was the little dumping cart in the back. She spent lots of time loading and unloading rocks, sticks, etc.My son, who will be two shortly, LOVES this trike. While he has not yet learned to pedal, the seat is low enough to the ground and he can scoot around using his feet. He like this much better than his plastic ride-on toy because the seat and steering make it feel like a real bike, but he is able to control it.It is also a tough little trike.Ours has been well used and still looks like new.It is stable and built to last.Children will be riding this same trike for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome trike
I bought this trike for my 18 month old for Christmas. The two little boys down the street have the same one and it still looks great even though they have both played with it every day for 3 years! My daughter liked theirs so much, I didn't hesitate to buy it for her. It is wonderful! I love how sturdy it is and I have not had any trouble with the handle bars--neither has my neighbor. My daughter is a little to small too peddle, but she has fun sitting on it and pushing it with her feet. It won't be long though! If you are looking for a durable and fun toy for your little one--you found it!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great quality tricycle
We purchase this trike for our son when he was 2 years old.He loves it and the little storage in the back for all of his treasures!I don't find it tips any easier that others, as if you are a daredevil and turn quickly you're going to tip, no matter what trike you're on.This spring we've adjusted the seat for our growing boy, and he still loves it, although he's looking at the neighbor's big boy bike with envy! When we bought this trike I debate between this one and one with the handle.I'm glad I skipped the handle, as I mop in the back bucket of this model is perfect for a little push when your beginning pedaller needs some help, andthey don't need help very long! This is a great trike at a reasonable price! We liked it so much we bought it for our niece for her birthday! ... Read more

Just about every child loves to dribble and shoot basketballs, but not every household with children has the right space for a court. This freestanding basketball hoop might be an ideal solution. Since the height of the hoop can be adjusted according to your child's height and skill level (the hoop goes as low as 42 inches and as high as 5 feet), this is a great investment for children as young as 3 years old. The large backboard (22 by 28 inches) helps keep the ball in play. You can make its heavy-plastic stand even more stable by filling the hollow base with sand or water. Wheels on the bottom make it especially portable. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite for 2 years
We bought this for our son when he was 2. He uses it EVERY day and he's now 4. Assembly was no problem and we adjust the hoop height all the time, so the little brother (now 2) can play, too. So easy, so low maintenance, everyone loves it! The net has finally given way, but that is to be expected. (You can still play with it......) I am stunned that ppl have had problems with it. This is the easiest, best toy we have!!

2-0 out of 5 stars How many four letter words do you know????
I must have used more than 500 new and created four letter words to put this thing together and it's still not finished.I hope it's worth it for the 15 minutes that my son will probably play with it.I cut my finger and my boy actually cried while I was attempting to attach that impossible backboard.I had no idea it took a masters degree to put it together!!!

    1-0 out of 5 stars doesn't last
Just like D and A's mom and Dad - I found it very hard to remove the second post to install it but we did finally get it out and then back in.I had to replace the hoop strings with real ones the second year. The biggest problem was that when I filled the base with sand that did it - the post bent over from that addition. Now we can't even use it at all because it leans over so far and the cracks in the base - it is going to fall apart any day now. ... We've had this toy for four months and it has been played with quite a bit by our two preschoolers! However, the knife broke within the first week of use. The kids found a plastic play knife to use instead and don't seem to mind.

5-0 out of 5 stars my 20 month old son loves this toy
This set of little pieces of wooden food attached with velcro is endlessly interesting to my son, he plays with it at length and returns to it after other activities. We were somewhat concerned about the safety of hime using the wooden knife, but it seems blunt and curved enough to not be a danger.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value
This is undoubtedly the best spent 50 bucks of my three years being a mommy!I shopped around for a few months before snatching up this table for my son for Christmas, and it is wonderful.I am so happy not to have paid over 100 bucks or more for the same quality I saw at other retailers...THANKS!! My son and I both love it!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Buy!!
I read about several play tables online before purchasing this one because it was considered to be sturdier.Boy is it ever.My daughter has used it for over a year as a base for her little people. There is plenty of room to store pieces she isn't playing with underneath it, as well as the many bins are useful for keeping her people, vehicles, and accessories separated and out of the floor.I have also seen her take everything off of it and use it as a dance floor, and now her TV sits on a portion of it.This is the sturdiest piece of furniture I have seen in a long time.I have a feeling she will be using it for many more years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value
I recently purchased this table when I saw the incredible sale price at our local Toys R Us store. It was easily assembled by one person, with clear instructions included. The table is quite sturdy, holding trains and a 32 pound child.A little wood glue was added to each of the pre-drilled assembly holes. We also purchased the Thomas Water Tower Figure 8 Set with Figure 8 Expansion Track Pack. This set does fit with inches to spare, when track is assembled according to included layout design. We also added several Thomas accessories: Clock Tower and Sodor Scrub and Shine.Actual play area of table is: 32" x 45 1/4".We are very satisfied and would repeat this purchase. In fact, may purchase another and use a bridge span to connect the two. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with this one.
My daughter loves The Wiggles! She received the guitar as a gift for Chanukah & played with it endlessly for a few weeks. Now it's sitting in her toy box, & she hasn't touched it in months. The buttons that you press play a portion of the characters' own songs.(i.e., Dorothy the Dinosaur - Romp Bomp A Chomp)It doesn't do more than that.

I like The Wiggles. They teach manners, health, colors, numbers, etc.The toy just isn't worth the money.I expected better than I got.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's just like Murray's guitar.
This musical red instrument looks just like Murray's guitar from Playhouse Disney and Wiggly movies.

It plays different songs whenever you press their button and sing along with the Wiggles' voices recorded. That's why I love it a lot.

You can "Play your Guitar with Murray" any time.

5-0 out of 5 stars My little musicians love this guitar...
This is a complete crowd pleaser. My boys are HUGE fans of the WIGGLES and they each receieved this guitar as a gift when they were about 3 years old and it's still on their Top 10 list of "favorite toys in the house"!It really has helped them (not that they really needed the help) to come out of their shells and take on a role of entertaining friends and family that come to visit. The guitars are very durable as I've seen them used in my household as a bat and weapon (yikes!) -- nothing has broken yet! There are quite a few of their favorite songs on it and the same buttons keep being used over and over again. If you can stand the repetition of the music and noise I suggest this for the little music lovers in your house. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great video - narrated by Alec Baldwin - not Ringo
This is a wonderful video to start your child on if you're not familiar with Thomas the Train. Alec Baldwin is the story teller and does such a marvelous job. I'm glad they finally got an actor to do the story telling! Anyway, the lead story tells about how James and the other trains are worried that the new hot air balloon will take away their passengers when, in fact, they learn that they have make MORE passengers because of the balloon. There's no name calling in this one, just a very nicely done video that all can enjoy. My little guy just loves it! It's very well done and the colors are so vibrant. Highly recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars James and the Red Balloon Is Awesome!
James And The Red Balloon has to be the best Thomas video I've seen in a long time. All the stories were great and they mostly taught the lesson of, Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover. The stories are very entertaining and funny too. Here they are:

James And The Red Balloon 5/5:
Thomas takes a hot air balloon and is very excited to see it take off into the sky. But James arrives and is afraid that the balloon will take away all there passengers. Now Thomas is not so excited anymore after what James had said, is James right? Find out in this story.

    Twin Trouble 4.5/5:
Donald & Douglas do pretty much everything together. But when they both get in an accident, Donald blames Douglas and says that he pushed him into the hay wagon. So the twins refuse to talk to each other and Donald goes to work somewhere else. But the twins soon start to miss each other.

Edward The Really Useful Engine 4.5/5:
All the big engines say that Edward is too old and needs to be retired. The news soon spreads to Sir Topham Hatt who immediately sends Edward away to help Stepney. But when Gordon stops on his hill, who should come and help him?

    The World's Strongest Engine 6/5:
Henry gets sent to the repairs after an accident with some freight cars and the only engine available to fill in Henry's spot is Diesel. Diesel is up to his no good tricks again, this time he wants to prove that he is the world's strongest engine
by pulling all the freight cars at once. But his trick backfires on him and he ends up in a sticky situation, where the true world's strongest must pull away all the cars.

    Rusty Saves The Day 4/5:
Sir Topham Hatt closes down Skarloey and Rheneas' line due to the bad condition of it. Then Sir Topham Hatt closes the Quarry for 2 weeks because they are blasting there. Rusty uses this time to repair Skarloey and Rheneas' railway, but the engines find out that it will take longer than expected. Can they fix it in time?

    Dunkin' Duncan 5/5:
Duncan gets to careless at the inclined railway and ends up in a embarressing situation where he'll have Sir Topham Hatt to deal with.

    "Down By The Docks"(Music Video)5/5:
A very catchy song about the docks, gateway to the sea.

Again, great Thomas video, I guarantee that you will like it too. I hope my review has been helpful. :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Very well done, thanks!
This is one of the nicest Thomas videos out there, in our opinion. It's just very nice how the engines work together, work out their problems together, and support each other along the way. It's particularly interesting when they show the breakdown train getting James out of the mud and onto the track again after those bad freight cars shove him off the track. They get taught a lesson in this video and it's quite nice. When the trains are getting prepared to meet the Queen, then the really shine.

This video is full of great lessons and very well done graphics. This is actually one of our favorites and it gets watched in our house quite often. My little one just loves it.Great video and a great price!

4-0 out of 5 stars Thomas fans, rejoice!
Here is Best of Thomas. Now the stories on here are good but there were alot more out there that should've been one this video. Let me start by saying that they didn't put one of the greatest stories of all time on here, Thomas Comes To Breakfast. That one was a perfect Thomas episode. Other ones that should have been on here include Thomas Gets Tricked, Trust Thomas, Thomas and Bertie's Great Race, Thomas Goes Fishing, Double Trouble, Better Late Than Ever, The Runaway, I could go on for ever but I'm sure you get my point. Thomas & Stepney and A New Friend For Thomas should not have been on here because Thomas is not the main character in both of these even though the title might have his name in it. I had to give this one 4 stars because of the numurous amount of Thomas stories that could have been on here and weren't. A part 2 of Best of Thomas might be needed. Anyway, this is a great video to buy because it does have some great Thomas moments. Here are the stories: Thomas Gets Bumped, A New Friend For Thomas, Thomas Percy and the dragon, Thomas Saves The Day, Trouble For Thomas, Thomas & Stepney, A Big Day For Thomas, Thomas Meets The Queen, and the music video "Really Useful Engine". And that wrapps up my review for Best of Thomas, hope it was helpful for you. :)

    4-0 out of 5 stars America's number 1# engine
Let me start of by saying that viewer selected doesn't mean they have to be great. Thomas's first ever episode Thomas gets Tricked wasn't even in it. I thought Better Late than Never, Thomas comes to Breakfast, Thomas Breaks the Rules, and Thomas and Bertie's Great Race were far better than some of these like Thomas and Stepney or a New Friend for Thomas. Were they really that good. Thomas was barely in both of them. Thomas meets the Queen didn't excalty focus on Thomas. Are these viewers really stupid becasue these epiodes weren't great. And I really think they shoulda kept the Ringo Starr narrations. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

There's rarely a warm seat in the house whenever the Wiggles command thescreen. This time Greg, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony host 50 minutes of flash andpizzazz in Hoop-Dee-Doo! It's a Wiggly Party. Over a dozen vibrant songand dance routines will inspire 2- to 8-year-olds to "Dance the Ooby Doo," "MoveLike an Emu," and embrace the true spirit of"Hoop-Dee-Doo!" As if thedelightful energy generated by these melodic gents and their usual cast ofextras isn't enough, huge kaleidoscopic backdrops groove along with each song. Then there's Captain Feathersword: often giddy to the point of falsetto, herethe good captain's comedic antics nearly cause his pirate buttons to pop. But,hey--it's a party! So fluff that feather sword, shine those dancin' shoes, andprepare to wiggle up an hour's worth of giggles, polkas, wobbles, and hulasteps. (Yes, "mums and dads" find Wiggles tunes irresistible, too.) --LianeThomas ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!
MY SON ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS TAPE. HE CAN WATCH IT OVER AND OVER (AND OVER), BUT THEN SO CAN I. THE SONGS ARE REALLY CATCHY TO SING TO. MY SON LOVES TO DANCE THE HOOP-DEE-DOO POLKA. A GREAT BUY!!

    5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!Broke my three-year old's Barney addiction!
Okay, I'm biased.Barney the dinosaur drives me up the wall.So I cannot express the relief I felt when my daughter, who at the time was three, discovered this particular Wiggles video.Watching them sing and dance to catchy tunes instantly broke her Barney addiction, and the Wiggles became her new favorite.

From Captain Feathersword to Henry the Octopus, the characters are quite original while remaining simple enough to entertain and relate to a young child. Also the tunes are catchy, and the acting good, and the dance and action scenes quite well choreographed. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

For the non-Australians out there, the Wiggles are a quartet of malesongbirds reminiscent of the Monkees, but aimed at the Barney-watching set. The Down Under foursome sings about mashed bananas and hot potatoes, dances with the energy of fitness instructors, and makes mild attempts at beingeducational. (Three of the four met while studying early childhoodeducation.) Their stab at multiculturalism results in the Jewish song"Havenu Shalom Alachem." Joining them are a big green dinosaur named Dorothy(seem familiar?), Henry the giant purple octopus, Wags the Dog, and a man in apirate suit called Captain Feathersword. The songs are catchy, the dancingvigorous, and the outfits colorful approximations of the uniforms worn by theoriginal crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. A couple of the haircuts looklikethey might have been acquired on the spaceship as well. The 15-song videoruns 33 minutes long and claims to be appropriate for ages 1-8, but will mostlikely appeal to preschoolers and kindergartners. --Kimberly Heinrichs ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Did not care for this dvd
I have only 2 dvd's and this is my least favorite.I would not recommend this one.The one we like is Wiggly Play Time, but that is the only other one I have seen.

1-0 out of 5 stars Completely Skippable
Our two year old loves the TV shows & his Wiggles CDs, but he is not interested in this DVD.It is simply songs strung together, with little or no dialog and no plot (which our child really enjoys, and frankly, makes it easier for me to sit through, strange as that may sound).
Most songs are performed on the same basic set, which is just a sky & clouds background.
Also, as many reviewers have said, the puppets are terrible. I think they will give ME nightmares. They are AWFUL!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars See why I deducted a star...
This is a fair DVD. Actually, it would be pretty good- my daughter LOVES "Toot Toot" and I bought this one thinking it would be similar yet with different songs. BUT, this video weirdly contains some segments of "animated Wiggles"- I think these come up when Jeff falls asleep and the other Wiggles are wondering what he sees in his dream world. The animated Wiggles are VERY HIGHLY annoying to me- they sing at high speed and sound like The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, Theodore!)....also the animations are bobbleheaded and just look plain scary, not at all cute.

What's more important than my own opinion on it is this is for the kids, and my 1 year old won't watch the animated parts. The first time she saw them it scared her but now she just isn't interested. She doesn't understand why everything goes all frantic and high pitched. Not a hit with her. She's 1, so I can't say how an older kid would like this or not. I know it irritates me. I guess an older kid (3?) would probably be amused.

However: the rest of the video is really good, the songs are catchy and food-themed.Fruit Salad, Hot Potato, etc. This is GREAT. The animation only makes up a small part of the video, so other than that I give this video 2 thumbs up.

I like this DVD just not the animated clips. So I know not to buy the video that features the animations! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fish, Weather, Wild Animals, and ELMO!!
This is another in the series of three short vignettes, and they are wonderful tools to teach the young ones about various topics.Like all the others, it is very consistent, and Elmo is consistent in his approach to learning. The Wild Animals were a little "in your face" in the beginning, and the really young ones might be taken back, as well as "The Weather" portion where the Wind comes into Elmo's house and almost blows him away, but it's a generally cute video for those Elmo-tykes like my twin daughters, and...Elmo still makes me laugh!!!

    Highly recommended!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars so worth it
This was the first one I had bought for my daughter. She had started to enjoy Elmo and I thought I surprise her with this DVD.
She was 20 months old then. And it was a great investment. These Elmo's world DVD's are fun, encourage your child to act and think. Each child will get something different out of it and enjoy it on a different level and way. But these DVD's are worth the money and time spend. Your child will learn and enjoy his friend Elmo and it is such a nice way to let him or her wind down after a busy day of playing outside or just being gone all day. At first my child would just watch the DVD, then she would ask for her crayons to draw with as well and yes she is now actually singing and humming along with the music. Of course not accurately, but the idea has clicked in her head what singing is. AND when Elmo plays his good bye song on his piano my daughter gets her little toddler piano out and drumms and humms along by just pounding those keys. ( not a real piano of course we are talking that kiddy stuff you can buy).
So I would say this is a great investment and heads up to the company for creating this fun Elmo's world selection.

5-0 out of 5 stars We LOVE Elmo!!
We have three other Elmo videos, and this one is the best. Not only does my toddler love it, but I love it!It is a good video to introduce children to artistic expression. And it is very funny! The best part is when Elmo sings opera. It is hilarious!

5-0 out of 5 stars Each segment is great for kids!
This is a great DVD!Singing, Drawing and Telephones are the three segments in this Elmo's World DVD.Thanks to the Drawing segment, my daughter has really become more interested in drawing and coloring.I'd say that has been the most educational part of the dvd.Singing is fun, and the tunes are catchy. The telephone segment goes through a history of the telephone, which is highly entertaining. What kid doesn't like playing with telephones? Just make sure you have your play-phone handy so they can play right along with Elmo's World. If your child loves Elmo, this DVD is a great pick! ... Read more
