A stuffed animal can provide only limited educational value, so it depends on what your child makes of it.My son asks Tigger questions and he causes Tigger to respond with a nod or head shake. He makes Tigger bounce up and down and declares "Bounce, bounce, bounce!" Here are things that make this a fine toy: --spawns creative play (no electronics here, just whatever your child makes of it) This is a sweet, simple toy.Enjoy!

Winnie the Pooh Soft 'n Silly: Tigger Average Customer Review: Toy -- our price: $10.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Tigger is indeed a "wonderful thing"--a bouncy storybook tiger who embodies all the exuberance and glee of early childhood. Although children typically fall in love with Winnie the Pooh characters during their toddler years, this infant-safe velour toy makes it possible for babies to become enchanted with the critters of the Hundred Acre Wood from the moment they are born. This adorable Tigger is made of soft velour that's perfect to cuddle with, and with minimal polyester stuffing, he's easy to carry. The "silly" part is that he flops about and falls into funny positions when picked up and put down. Since he's surface washable, he can easily stay fresh and clean throughout the early years of hard loving. --Hannah Reynolds ... Read more Reviews (2)

Tug 'n Twist Tigger Average Customer Review: Toy US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Tigger is indeed a "wonderful thing"--a bouncy storybook tiger who embodies all the exuberance and glee of early childhood. Thisorange-and-black resident of the Hundred Acre Wood is ready to play. The soft, velour-covered animal has sensors in his ears, paws, feet, nose, tail, chin, and tummy--each with a unique sound effect. Once any of the 10 sensors are activated, Tigger starts a game in which he asks players to "tug" or "squeeze" any of those spots, and rewards successful play with "Tiggerific!" As the child improves, Tigger speeds up and makes the sequences of squeezes longer, similar to the game Simon. With unlimited combinations and the opportunity for challenges among friends, this is a game of skill that won't be forgotten so quickly. --Pam Lauer ... Read more Reviews (8)

Tigger's Honey Hunt Average Customer Review: Game Cartridge US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Anyone who has grown up without coming in contact with the Winnie thePooh stories likely suffers as a result a severe whimsy deficit. Whether throughthe original A.A. Milne novelsand stories, or the Walt Disneyfilm adaptations, themisadventures of Pooh, Christopher Robin, Tigger, and Piglet provide acompletely entertaining diversion from ordinary storytelling. The story in Tigger's Honey Hunt starts with Pooh, who is planning agrand party. But he can't begin to plan the bash without knowing that he hassufficient honey for his guests to enjoy. Bouncing along in his own inimitableway, Tigger pledges to help Pooh locate enough honey pots to get the party offthe ground. Crisp backgrounds, colorful worlds, and superb animation make this a fun rompthrough the Hundred Acre Woods. Gameplay mechanics are straightforward and aimedat the right demographic. For anyone but kids, however, this game plays too short and doesn't have enoughindividual play modes (little kids love to play the same game over and over, soa short game doesn't matter much to the under-8 crowd). The title misses PaulWinchell's deft voice-over talent, but there's only so much data that you canfit on a Nintendo 64 cartridge. Tigger's Honey Hunt really knows what it wants to be: a kids' game. Assuch, it succeeds in providing a darned good--if short--time. --ToddMowatt Pros:

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too Director: John Lounsbery Average Customer Review: VHS Tape (11 July, 2000) list price: $12.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review This third installment of the Disney Pooh series, first released in1974, is perhaps the liveliest, in part because the hyperactively bouncy stuffed tiger of the title seems tailor-made for animation. The story line, in which Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and company have to come to terms with the disruptive new presence in the Hundred Acre Wood, could almost be described as morally uplifting. And the character's theme song, "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers," is the only really memorable number in the entire series; your kid will be singing it for days. The throaty tones of Paul Winchell, as Tigger, are a definite asset--and voice choices are by no means a neutral issue. When Disney chose the familiar tenor of in-house voiceover performer Sterling Holloway for the title character, it was a good example of what the politically minded call an "appropriative" gesture: a way of enveloping A.A. Milne's great children's book hero, of transforming him instantly into a generic Disney character. (You would never guess from the Disney renditions of Christopher that in the books, originally published in the 1920s, everybody was British.) The marketing machinations came full circle when Disney purchased rights to the original drawings by illustrator Ernest Shephard; merchandise depicting the two versions of the characters are now sold side by side in The Disney Store, like so many cans of New and Classic Coke. --David Chute ... If you have a child that is 1-3 years of age, then classic Pooh videos are a must for your collection. Your child will fall in love with the characters, the songs, and the storyline. I really like the length of the videos as well (not too long, but not too short either...you parents know what I mean). Bottom line: This a good, wholesome Pooh adventure that your child will love!
The story really comes to life with the voices of Sterling Holloway as Pooh, Paul Winchell as Tigger, and Junius Matthews as Rabbit. Those are the classic voices. It contains a lot of action, from the beginning when they take Tigger on a long explore and lose him there, to the end when Tigger promises never to bounce again. This story willfascinate children of all ages. I love the story. If you have kids, you should buy them this story, and add it to your collection.

Winnie the Pooh: Tigger-ific Tales Director: Karl Geurs, Terence Harrison, Ken Kessel Average Customer Review: VHS Tape (12 February, 1997) list price: $12.99 -- our price: $12.34 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review In "All's Well That Ends Well," Tigger is up to his whiskers in birthday wishes from friends. "Stripes" features the character in a state of alarm when he loses his markings, and in "Luck Amok," he learns he has good friends. The accent is on Pooh's delightful friend in this video, and the programs are wonderfully written, charmingly animated, and strongly characterized. --Tom Keogh ... Read more Features Reviews (3)
I just love Tigger, so when I saw this title, I snatched it up, eager to share it with my son. Now, he loved it, so I would still recommend you buy this one. Just don't make it a priority. I, on the other hand, was sadly disappointed with it. "All's Well That End's Well" was terrible. If that was the only story I'd seen with Tigger in it, I would never allow my son to watch Tigger at all. It is only because I love him so much in all the other stories that I put up with it. Tigger is not likable in this one. He's whiny, selfish, greedy, and annoying. It's best just to fast forward through it. "Stripes" was by far the best story on the tape, and makes it worth buying. It was a clever little tale, with a nice song and a real message - it's what's inside you that counts. "Luck Amok" is okay. It's not the best Pooh/Tigger story I've seen in these "new" videos, but it's enjoyable enough. All in all, this video is worth buying. Your kids will love it, even if the first story sends you, groaning, from the room..
"Stripes," however, is one of the best televised efforts. There's a familiar, simple, underlying message; a new (albeit not fully realized) song; and an actual story arc. This is one that will entertain and teach children, and manages also to not nauseate adults longing for the "classic" Pooh bear.
