Guess what! Dora the Explorer has jumped on the royal bandwagon! This intrepid explorer is now a fairy tale princess with magical hair that grows when the jewel in her crown is pressed with a wand. Dora talks and sings, too, in both English and Spanish: "Vamanos! Let's go to fairytale land! Will you brush my hair?" The 14-inch-tall plastic doll is not designed to be cuddled so much as played with and groomed. She is attired in a satiny yellow gown trimmed in pink and purple, and has a brush, barrettes, and magic wand. The magical tresses emerging from the hair-growing tube are quite realistic, although grownups, at least, might be a little unnerved at the sleek brown hair oozing in and out of Dora's head. Not as happy as I thought!!!!
We bought this for our daughter Brittney (39 months), she wanted it so bad, then after a few days she just stopped playing with it. I don't think she's into the hair brushing and that sort of play just yet. She still loves dora's house, and her other dora dolls which include star catching dora, cowboy dora, buenas noched dora, magic surprise dora and some other ones.

A review for my Sister
The first day my sister ever saw this item, she wanted it for her birthday, but she got it for Christmas. Thanks to our best friend, Pat, now living at Bethel Retirement Home. When my sister got this, she thought that Dora looked cute in the box. My sister really likes the song that Dora sings. One time, my sister combed Dora's hair too much and too hard. Then it didn't work. My father fixed it on the day he got batteries for my MindMania Spelling Clip. Last, my sister doesn't play with Dora oftenly. Dora uses 4 "AA" batteries (included.)- Cristian and Alejandra Mojica.

3 yr old likes maybe too much
Dora is still doing okay considering what she has been through since Christmas.Her pretty hair do was taken out of its rubber bands fairly quickly.She has gotten an unrequested hair cut, luckly not much was cut because I caught my daughter in the act.She gets played with somewhat often even by visiting children.I do sometimes have to take Dora away when the kids start fighting over her.She doesn't look as good as new anymore, but well loved. ... Cute, but falls apart
I only bought the swing for my daughter. I don't have the two other pieces. The swing is really cute, but it falls apart. I spend more time putting it back together than my daughter does playing with it.

My daughter loves playing with baby dolls but not with the swing in this set.The other pieces are alright but the swing falls apart very easy and it's hard for her to get the baby in and out.Buying the pieces seperate might be better so you don't get the swing.

Don't get the set because of the swing....

Great value . . but . .
I purchased 3 sets during Amazon's pre-Christmas sale, and they were very popular with 4 and 5 year olds.However, if I had it to do over I'd remove the ballerina shoes before giving this set to a child.Even adults have difficulty stuffing Madeline's feet into them; they are just cut too small.In fact, if you'd like to keep the black shoes and socks tacked onto the doll for awhile, I'd put the ballerina tights away for later.

Charming
This is an adorable doll and wish I could give it a 5 BUT.. as cute as all the outfits are, they are just to hard for a 5 year old to get on. Some are even tricky for me.So I spend a lot of time putting on and carefully trying to tie the ballet slipper ribbons and by the time I have got it, she is bored and wants the duck outfit on!Guess they made a choice between aesthetics and ease and you will have to do some serious assisting.Otherwise it is a very appealing, high quality and fun rag doll.The variety of clothes is very imaginative and the girls like her huggableness as a change from barbie style.I think I am going to hide the ballet outfit and relax.

I cannot wait to put this out for Christmas.It is adorable!She is very well made and soft,so great for small children.She comes wearing her navy polka dot dress w/matching hat and also comes w/5 extra outfits.A balletrinna outfit w/crown, a riding suit w/cap,a bathrobe w/washcloth and plush bar of soap,a doctor outfit w/stethascop,and a darling little ducky outfit.They are all really nice.Each outfit also comes w/a very sturdy paper board hanger and plasic dust cover..Everything is wounderfully made.If you are buying this as a gift you will need to get either a gift bag or box because when I received mine it was only sealed in a plastic bag,no box.A really cute item that your child can save forever! ... Great Fun for Little Money
We just retired our dirt devil after almost 2 years of very hard play. My son spotted it at a yard sale at the neighbor of my sister when we were there on vacation. I bought it used for $2 and he has vacuumed with me almost every time I vacuum for nearly 2 years. He is a very enthusiastic vacuumer and runs into my vac and walls rather hard. It held up well until just recently. It was two years old when we bought it. I don't understand the "flimsy" reviews. Ours was anything but. Good toy.

Disappointed
Well, had I taken the time to read the other reviews before I bought this toy, I wouldn't have purchased it. I liked the realistic look of this vacuum compared with others I'd seen, but my daughter gave up on it within minutes because, as other people have commented, it won't roll on the carpet. The wheels are really poorly designed and the whole toy is very cheaply made. I am returning it.

flimsy cheap toy
I just bought this toy today and I'm returning it tomorrow.It is the cheapest-made toy I've ever encountered.As soon as I took it out of the box, I could tell right away I would end up regretting this purchase.The one I got came with a dust-buster, which is even worse than the vacuum. Yes, it makes a loud noise and the front lights up, but it scratches the wood floors and is difficult to push across carpet.The front panel has already fallen off, and the panel in front of the "filter" won't stay on.My son loves it, but for the money ($30!!), there has got to be a better made toy vacuum.One last thing....they should NOT advertise that it really works.I wasn't looking for a vacuum that sucks up dirt, but the box says it does, and it doesn't even come close.Unfortunately, at the store, there weren't any other real-looking vacuums to choose from.Does anyone know where I can get a good quality, fun vacuum?? ... I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
I have bought this book 5 times!I don't even have children myself, but I keep giving mine away to the children of my friends.They love it.

I think it has a wonderful message...no matter how alone you feel, there is always someone out there going through similar things.(And as a pug owner I often hear how ugly some people think pugs are...so it rings a little true that way as well.)Children always have something that they don't like and that they think separates them from others, from being "normal" (whatever that means.)Braces, freckles, buck teeth, whatever.We've all been through the growing pains.It's nice to find someone with whom you share a commonality.It's reassuring.(And it helps you ignore the bullies!)

This book is a treasure!

I was appalled by the message of this book
The overall message of this adorably illustrated book is that you will find acceptance only with others who are EXACTLY LIKE YOU. Many other picture books successfully tell the story of an animal who pretends to be someone or something else just to find acceptance and then learns that being himself is just fine after all.The book, WIDGET, comes to mind.In UNLOVABLE, no one learns a lesson, no one changes an attitude, no one even finds friendship that is based on more than appearances.

An enduring favourite
My 4 yr old got this last christmas together with a few other titles. It's definitely his favourite and still keeps him occupied. There are nice counting and matching games and rhymes. It's pages are more interactive (more things to point to) than many other titles. Pooh's pronounciation makes him a little hard to understand at the beginning.

A good book for a preschooler
This book was one of my 3 year olds first books for her LeapPad, and it is still her favorite.She likes Winnie the Pooh, and it's filled with games that help her practice counting, find objects from tallest to smallest, matching, shapes, colours, music, and more.She plays with this book by herself and likes it better than most of the Leap Start reading books.It's educational, fun, and is a great introduction to a LeapPad for a preschooler.

Used lots, breaks up often
Our son, now 4, has played with this plane tons during the year that we've had it - a clear favorite and good fodder for imaginative play.Our only complaint is that it does fall apart (tail comes off, wings come off, wheels come off) easily and often.It's no problem to reassemble, but it's an occasional annoyance.

AWESOME Airplaine!
This airplaine ROCKS!My 4 year old got it for his birthday and he plays with it everyday!The detail is amazing and it is VERY sturdy.He has accidentally dropped it (he's remarkably good with his toys) and the tail and wings snapped off.But they just pop right back on!

I highly recommend this toy!

Wheels BROKE before 2 weeks had passed!!
My 5yr old son loves this toy. His younger brother likes it too, even though he doesn't get to play with it much. The large size and bright color encourages my 5yr old to play with it since it's one of the first toys he sees (the size makes it hard to store). He loves to "fly" it, and likes the small cabin accessories. Definitely encourages imaginative play.

I'm upset, though, that the front wheels snapped off quite easily. We hadn't had the toy more than a week!! Gluing doesn't work, as the front wheel needs to turn. I'm in the process of getting a replacement, so we'll see if the next one breaks as easily. A $40 plastic toy should be made not to break easily when an age appropriate child is using it. ... I am 11 years old and still love pollys! So fun for work or costume parties!
This toy is good because polly's need to go to work! They just can't party or shop all day. That's what my sister want them to do. I want to make them jump the grand canyon like evil canevil. I'm a daredevil just like my pollys. so make them go to work and then go to a costume party! great price. I got it for christmas. The boy is helpful because not every set make them. Go and buy it!
