    Editorial Review

Want to show your friends how well you know them? Take out the PersonaliTease party game and have everyone guessing who answered questions like "What do you enjoy doing, even though you know it's wrong?" One player--the "emcee"--collects answers from the group, reads them out loud once or twice, and waits for everyone to guess which answer belongs to which player. There's plenty of bluffing and second-guessing involved here, and (fortunately) little opportunity for hard feelings to develop, as can sometime be the case with other games of this kind. The game can go as quickly as you like, or linger for a long evening of discovery if you want to really explore the mysteries of your friends' minds. --Rob Lightner ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great group game! (5+ people)
Good questions without getting too personal. Good play, you can play as many rounds as you have interest for. The more the better (found that with 4 players, it got a little easy to guess who answered what). Quickly, one person is the "host" for the round, the others answer a question, pass their answers secretly to the host, who then reads them off while the others try to guess who answered what. Surprising how many you get wrong, great way to get to know people.

5-0 out of 5 stars So fun at parties
I have become the game guru of my neighborhood since getting this game. Everybody loves it and wants to play it at every get-together. It is fun in mixed company or on a girls-night-out. Even shy people seem to come out of their shell playing this game. It's a great ice-breaker game that helps everyone get acquainted and comfortable. Great fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Way to Get to Know your Friends and Family
This is a great game to break up any boredom or add zest to a party. You will be amazed at what you will learn about your friends, co-workers, or family.Game is easily adaptable to the type of questions you would like to ask as well as the numberof questions you will include in your game.If you like to laugh....this is the game! ... Editorial Review

Author and relationship guru John Gray comes down to Earth with Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: The Game, a fun and funny boxed "home version" based on the book that has spent so many years on The New York Times Best Sellers list. In the game, it's Venusians vs. Martians as each team tries to guess how other players will respond to multiple-choice questions in seven categories, including "The Dating Circuit," "Communication," and the sex-related "In the Flesh."Women try to match how a male opponent might answer a query from the Mars deck such as "The hardest thing for a man to admit is that he's: a) broke b) impotent, or c) aging."Similarly, the women's Venus deck poses questions such as "For me, it would be most difficult to ask for a a) date b) loan, or c) promotion" and "The sexiest man wears a) a silk shirt b) a T-shirt, or c) his heart on his sleeve."Provocative, humorous, and stimulating, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: The Game makes for a fun hour of interpersonal interplanetary interplay.--Tony Mason ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This game is so GREAT!
The thing about this game is that it is designed for couples to get to know their partners better; but what HAPPENS is that couples get together and end up ARGUING, practically throwing dishes, and it's absolutely hysterical. All you do is laugh, the whole time, and it's so delicious to listen to your friends arguing, too! Amazing the secrets you can glean!I give this game three thumbs up for being very amusing, unique, and fun to play!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game
This is a great game for couples. As a younger couple that has been together for 3 1/2 years we really enjoyed it and learned alot about each other. It is great for three couples and can be played over and over.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun way to get to know a mate (or potential mate) better!
My husband and I played this game with a couple of friends I was fixing-up.The questions sparked revealing conversations -- things you might be cautious talking about early in a relationship -- but because it was a game, it was "ok" to talk about those issues. It's a great way to learn more about the people you're playing the game with - even if you've known them a long time.We played for four hours and could have played longer. If you're looking for a hysterical game with non-stop laughs, this isn't the best choice. But if you're looking for a pleasant evening with friends - with lots of good conversation - I haven't found a game better than this one. ... Read more

Scattergories is a fast-paced word game that's a real crowd pleaser. Each player takes a categorylist with 12 categories--such as vegetable, state, president, things you throw away--and must write down thename of one item that fits into each category. Sounds easy enough, but each item has to begin with aspecific letter that is determined when the 20-sided die is rolled. For instance, you roll the letter "R." Youranswer list for the above categories might look something like this: rutabaga, Rhode Island, Roosevelt, rubbish, etc. You have to think fast, because a round lasts only 3 minutes! Players score points for eachunique answer. --Alison Golder ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for quick-thinking players
Scattegories is so much fun! Even though it's a word-based game, you don't need a huge vocabulary to play. The categories are pretty well-known and general. The hard part is coming up with the right word in time!

To play Scattegories you choose one of 12 different games, each with 10 separate categories. So the categories in one game might be, for example:

    * Things you find at the beach
    * Famous people

And so on for 10 in total. You then roll a die that has letters of the alphabet on it to determine which letter all of your answers have to start with - and no repeating words in the same game! You get bonus points for multiple word answers that all start with the chosen letter. For example an answer for "Famous people" might be Ronald Reagan (2 points). Like I said before, there's a lot more pressure when you can hear the timer ticking down! Whoever gets the most points wins the game. Sometimes it's fun to make up words and see if you can get everyone else to believe you.

Scattegories is an easy game for almost anyone who can read and write. It's good with groups or just two people. You can even play it over the phone if you really want to. Highly recommended for people who like board or word games.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great in Teams!
I'm always intrigued when I read of folks playing this game as individuals . . . I've only played it with teams (usually of 3 players each).

I host a potluck dinner and "game night" at my home every couple of months . . . sometimes a mixed group of singles and couples, sometimes friends bring their children, sometimes just a group of women friends . . . after dinner and chat we move on to the game for the evening . . . we have tried several different games, but have settled on Scattergories as one of our favorites --- it is easy to play in teams and the answers are creative and fun (with few blank spots when the timer stops!)

Each team designates one person to write while all the team comes up with answers . . . some teams have one person start at the bottom of the list while another starts at the top and they meet in the middle . . . we have found that with team play some like to move away from the table for the fill in portion of the game (into the family room, out onto the deck, etc.).

What's great about this game is that it's fun to play with all ages . . . the kids get to see adults having fun (and not taking themselves too seriously) everyone gets to play and no one is ever made to feel foolish or stupid.Even friends who think that they don't like to play games because they aren't competitive enough have enjoyed this game when played in a team.

5-0 out of 5 stars Even people who don't like to play games like this one!
There are a few people in our extended family who simply don't enjoy playing board games or even party games of any type. However, these same people have loved playing Scattergories. It is simple in concept but challenging to the intellect. Also, it just ends up being hilarious to hear the answers that people come up with. This is the game our family has enjoyed playing more than any other game.

A must have for your game collection! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

That iMAgiNiff was developed by two brothers (in Australia) makes perfect sense, because this is a board game you'll want to share with family and friends. It's simple to play. A set of names is chosen, usually the name of every player plus those of several absent friends. When it's your turn, one name is selected as the subject of the question. You pick a card--one of hundreds--that poses a question and six possible answers (for example, "Imaginiff _____ were a crime. Which would he/she be?"). Read the question aloud, plugging in the subject's name. Then read out the six answers (in this case, they range from "homicide" to "indecent exposure"). Each player picks an answer to fit the subject; those who have picked the most popular answer move forward. But though you win by advancing, winning is obviously not the point: laughter and arguments are. The questions on the cards range from the ridiculous ("Imaginiff _____ were a body part.") to the provocative ("Imaginiff _____ had to decide which of the following values is most important."). The game is a fun cross between Scruples and True Colors. --Elisa Murray ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for 2 players
I was looking for games that 2 people could play. The site states that it is for 2 to 8 players. It is not. When I got the game and started reading the instructions it became clear that you need at least 3 players. Then I looked on the box and it clearly states "for 3 to 8 players". I don't know how to rate it because we did not get to play it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kid's point of view
I am 14 years old and I played this game recently at a family reunion. We had a blast!Everybody joined in on the game: my grandparents, my uncle and aunt, my dad, my cousins, etc.Even my 6 year old cousin was able to play with us.This is a very sociable game.I would say that the only problem was that only 8 people could play!

5-0 out of 5 stars "The funniest game you can imagine!"
"iMAGiNiff" is a fun game for all. Great tool for learning more about your friends and laughing your head off at the same time!Truly a game that you have fun whether you win or lose--there should be more games like this! Having fun is the reason why we play games, after all.

"iMAGiNiff" calls for 3-8 players ages 12 and up. This game isn't designed for young kids, but I have a six year-old daughter and she always wants to play along on games when we have our friends over but she rarely can. "iMAGiNiff" is great for kids! We just gave her a pawn and matching color cards and let her put down a number one through six and over half the time she got it right (said what most other people said.) We kept her tied with the winner so even though she didn't really "play" she felt like a winnner.Good, because she IS! She laughed and had as great a time as the rest of us! (Now when does that happen when kids play games?) For younger kids, this helps them learn their numbers and colors.Of course, this again, ISN'T designed for kids, it is for adults but the fact that your kids CAN PLAY along (if need be) without disturbing your fun is just brilliant.

I'll share a question where I was the blank: "iMAGiNiff" Kellye were something worn on the hand. What would she be?" 1 Brass knuckles 2 Silk Glove 3 Diamond Ring 4 Rubber Glove 5 Puppet 6 Mitten. [Quick, friends that are reading this, guess an answer.] One friend and my husband got it right and another friend answered puppet.Well, three, diamond ring was my answer after debating between picking brass knuckles since I am a kickboxer and would love to do a mean punch if I ever needed to and then rubber gloves since I am studying to be a nurse. But diamonds after all, are a girl's best friend! I didn't like the puppett answer (I am not one to be controlled, buddy!) but my friend explained he put that because puppets were fun and I was fun.So if you get a weird answer you can always ask them to explain. I was slowest putting down answers about everyone because I love to imagine! The one thing I don't like about the game is that when one puts down an answer about oneself, seems like that should be the definitive answer but it isn't, majority rules; paradoxically, this fact actually makes it all the funner because it helps you see how other people see you. I do hope the makers come up with refill cards to buy because we will be wearing this game out, everyone loves it.

This game is an Essential for get-togethers with your friends! Buy it now! You are truly missing out if you don't own it.

    Editorial Review

It's become the high praise of the day: "I'd sure like to have her on my Trivial Pursuit team." Life is never dull when there are people around who know what baking ingredient, sprayed at high pressure, the U.S. Air Force replaced its toxic paint stripper with. Or what male body part Mademoiselle magazine found to be the favorite of most women. The object of the game is to show off one's general knowledge--that is, it's to move along a circular track, answering questions, and to collect colored wedges for correct answers in six categories: People and Places, Arts and Entertainment, History, Science and Nature, Sports and Leisure, and Wild Card. The game includes a 20-by-20-inch game board, question-and-answer cards in two card storage boxes, dice, six plastic tokens, and 36 scoring wedges. For two to six players or teams. 4-0 out of 5 stars A little easy
Could just be because I'm a child of the era, but I find this version a little bit too un-challenging for my tastes. Still fun though.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's enjoyable -- but not quite as challenging.
This update to the Trivial Pursuit line attempts to modernize the questions -- and switches some of the traditional categories around in an effort to appeal to a broader audience. The "Arts and Literature" category is now gone, for example, swallowed up by a huge Entertainment section that skews heavily towards more "pop" references. Almost all the history questions are targeted at the latter half of this century -- making questions on things like American politics ludicrously easy for people who've been paying attention for the last two decades -- and "Science" is now less concerned with rare conditions and more interested in recent breakthroughs.

In other words, compared to the previous editions, this one will seem noticeably easier -- and much narrower in focus -- to real trivia hounds, but much more accessible to wider audiences. Given that this was a stated goal of the revision, however, it's no so much a problem as a "feature;" younger people used to feeling adrift in a sea of Baby Boomer references (like I was as a child) will probably appreciate many of the changes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of Fun, and Most of it is Spent Laughing
Cranium is the ultimate combination of every party game you love in one nice package.Acting, unscrambling, humming, drawing, there is always a new challenge to face that will have the entire group laughing.

You play the game in partners and will find the games level of difficulties ranging from spelling a word to 60's trivia. The competition is eased through the constant mishap whiletrying to complete the zany challenges which adds for a funner atmosphere.

The games design is modern and nicely done, and the replay value of the game is high since the card booster sets have been made and the first deck will last you a long time.Cranium doesn't get old fast, it's so entertaining I doubt it will ever get old.It is a must own game and definately the best of the new wave of party games.
