Vintage Kellys?
Nah, more like Kelly is playing dress-up in replicas of big sister Barbie's vintage outfits.

This set is executed quite nicely.The face paint is simple and sweet, not too grown-up or dramatic.The hair is nicely done, although Mattel could have spent a little bit more time on the bubblecut.The outfits are very well made, as close to looking like the vintage dresses as I would expect in such small scale.

I am happy with this set (bought it for my daughter's collection) but I do wish they had varied the Kelly dolls a bit more.Throwing in a platinum and/or a titian hair colour would have been nice. ... Read more

I only gave it 5 stars for the Ken doll
The barbie doll is nice but not all that great.Her dress is gorgeous i'd admit but her face is a bit messy.She looks drunk or high and the very dark lipstick with pale skin thing is not working either.Her face is quite plain actually once you take away the dreadful dark lipstick.But her hair is gorgeous.Long, ash blonde, and flowy.Worth the buy? I don't think she is, but the ken doll is.

THe ken doll is gorgeous!Probably the best looking ken doll i've seen by far.Love the long brown hair, open shirt outfit, body built, face mold, and everything.He is worth the 80 dollars alone.

Ken & Barbie are the cover of a historical romance.
This is one of the few Ken dolls that has sex appeal.Perhaps it is the five o'clock shadow, or his swash-buckling black pants, the black belt and piratical soft cotton white shirt, or his long brown hair that looks like he just stepped out of the wind, or maybe the aggressive pose - whatever, it works.

Barbie is beautiful with her long flowing, slightly tousled blond hair, a look of vulnerability in her eyes and seductive pose, and the violet blue dress that falls off her shoulders.I've never read Jude Deveraux's The Raider, but this set makes me think that Ken is anatomically correct and their night has just begun.

Fun - just looking at the set is engaging.

Durable - mine will remain in perfect condition because I'm a collector.If a child plays with the set, the first thing to go will be the shoes, the rest will follow.

Educational - Can be used to teach a child about the clothing of the era, pirates, romance.

Hi,

I'm a Barbie Collector,and as soon as I saw this doll do a come back,I bought her.I have the orginal,but I couldn't stop myself from buying the reproduction.I just hope mattel doesn't stop them selfs short and also make the other malibus,like pj,and francie,ken,from that era.Malibu is one of the most favorites in the collecting line for collectors.Hope to see more of this line.

This doll is awesome! Her hair is soft and silky but not longer and easier to style like the original. Her bathing suit is cool- but don't try putting it on other dolls or it will become stretched out. One of the dolls legs became slightly loose and I am very carefull with my dolls. I suggest it be just for a kid or adult that likes to look at the dolls because the overall imagination that can be put in this doll is very little. Her face is also different from the original. An overall great doll.

Brazilian Barbie!!
This doll is amazing! Her hair, makeup and dress are SSOOOO cool! Well, for me, the most significant thing is that her story, written in the box, tells that she is a brazilian model, from Rio ( a carioca, as we say...), and the beach behind her is a real beach from here, the one in Leblon neighbourhood. Unfortunatelly, when she is saying goodbye to her friends, she says "Adíos", and that's spanish. Here we speak portuguese, and would say "tchau". But she's awesome anymay.

Beautiful vintage reproduction
This collectible barbie is one of the best that mattel has made that is still slightly affordable. She has the vintage "pout" face that all of the old barbies had. Her polka dotted, blue bubble dress compliments her georgous, blood red, pouty lips and light blue eyeshadow. Unlike the new barbies like my-scene, her makeup isn't overdone. Her hair is teased up into a big bun on top of her head and is covered with a matching blue veil headband hat. She wears a white, "fur" stole around her shoulders and carries a yellow purse. Everything about her is memsmerizingly beautiful! This barbie is not for children and if not handled with care, could break. Cute, Fun, and a favriote My Scene Doll
Barbie comes ot you wearing bell bottom jeans, a soft cream shirt, and a light brown jacket. Her eyes are blue, and her makeup is in brown tones. Barbie's hair is in a lovley wave, and is so soft and easy to style. Her extra outfit is kind of annoyingly "designerish" , but still nicley made. And Mattel's clothes for my Scene just keep getting better. Thisi s one of my favriotes!

These Boots Are Made for Walking! (Hey, Barbie Can't Walk!)
First: it's a shame it took the threat of competition from MGA Entertainment's sucessful Bratz dolls to Mattel's bottom line, for Barbie's creators' to create the wonderful "My Scene" collection.There were already a zillion Bratz knockoffs by the time "My Scene" arrived on the shelves last fall, so I won't wave my finger at Mattel with accusations of being copycats!

One area where the "My Scene" dolls are superior to Bratz is that the former have removeable footwear (as opposed to the Bratz' absence of feet without the "snap on" shoes).In the case of "Back to School Barbie," her turquoise boots were (for me) her most attractive feature.They have that flat-edged heel that's popular these days.

I didn't care much for the rest of the outfit, constisting of hiphugger (read: bellbottoms) jeans, short skirt, a flimsy corduroy jacket, and a sleveless blouse/necktie combo.I know the outfit represents what's in style these days, but I would've liked something a bit more coordinated.

The pieces of clothing are very hard to slip onto the doll, and I had a hard time keeping the collar of Barbie's blouse folded down.

Barbie herself doesn't look too bad, she's tanned with dark golded hair.

This isn't my favorite of the Back to School My Scene Dolls (I really like Nolee and Madison), but it's not bad either.

Pretty!
I bought this Barbie because I loved the little top with the blue tie and the miniskirt I saw in the box next to the doll. It's an extremely cute outfit!I love the jeans because of the colorful strip of fabric running down the leg, very unique.The blue boots are great!I don't like Barbie's hairstyle much, it looks just like the very first My Scene Barbie's hair.I prefer the straight style of Spring Break Barbie.But overall, a wonderful doll! ... I'd rather have a real doll with feet than one that is footless when you take it's boots off. This is the newest myscene fashion pack, and my fav.The first outfit comes with a turquoise colored mini with green talored belt with golden loop going down-ward, multi-colored sleeve-less tank, light brown boots, light brown jacket with lime green trim, and bright pink purse with blue bow and light brown ruffle with turquoise shdaes to complete the look.This looks like a weekend outfit to go out or just relax and look good.The second outfit come with a sassy red ruffle mini with pink bow accro the waist, sassy red ankle boots to match a pink tee with red radio on it, a dinem jacket with red buttons in the corner at the end of the jacket, a beaded fusha and purple bag, and fusha shades.This outfit is a little more girly but also very, very sassy (because of the boots and the skirt).And the last outfit (is my favorite) includes talored army pant with cute maroon tie at the top, brown striped tube top with lace at the top for one arm to go through (so that the shirt is a slant at the top), gold necklace (looks great with the top), dark brown boots, olive green and dark brown jacket and shiney gold bag to bring everything out and together.

Action figures need not apply! That's only because there's not a whole lot of action going on in this lounge set designed to accommodate Barbie and her friends from the fashionable teen-oriented My Scene collection. Not that they mind listening to a little music now and then. The large circular coffee table can actually be used to store full-size CDs and the included jack can be used to connect the set to a stereo and get the party in motion. A spinning disco ball adds to the scene and is illuminated by small red and green lights. The side of the lounge features a pull-out dance floor in case someone gets the urge to stop lounging and boogie a little. And perhaps that someone will be Nolee, one of Barbie's ultra-cool friends, included here. Nolee wears a green and purple party dress with a bit of lace frill and she does look a little sad lounging here all alone. Very, very nice.
I must say that I love this toy! First off, the sound lounge is great and lots of fun but sadly the dolls can't actually stand up in it. On the other hand, it is super-durable and my small cousin actually took it mostly apart then I reassembled it! It was fine. BUT it is very hard to get the table-top back on if you take it off. The quality of the music could be better, and I wish the batteries had lasted longer, but that's partly my fault for letting my siblings play with it. Did I mention the DJ booth? Second, the Nolee is gorgeous and her dress is perfect. However her earrings are not removeable unlike the others. Her hair is silky had she has beautiful makeup, although this time she has brown eyes instead of purple.... But if you buy it for your little girl around five you might want to wait a year. Basically,it's a great toy and your daughters/nieces/granddaughters will love it.

Friends Look Alike
This is a great toy!! I as soon as i saw it, it reminded me of the FRIENDS Coffee house. I like how it is really durable and it doesn't fall apart. Everything was really easy to put together unlike other Barbie platsets. This is a great toy!! Every girl should have it.

SHOPPING SPREE
This is a cool shop for the girls to gust go and shop untill they drop!!it is not the best one of all the shops but it is still cool!!!It comes with cool accesories and a place to hange there clothes!!!If you have all these Little shops you could make a mall!!!!I think the girl need to hange out and this one is the right one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Class furniture and pretty good accessories.
I just bought my second one of these, which is the best proof the first one was great. My boutique needed more matching racks, though, and I wanted to do the armoire as a closed entertainment center with doors and the half-round chest as solid front, both in cherry-wood or mahogany-colored paint. Sheet plastic and paint for plastics, like Plaid brand, that's all it takes. The armoire has another incarnation now as Chelsea's wardrobe. There, the drawers look to work. Here, they are strictly decorative shapes.

The antique style cash register is so cool. If the drawer had come out (or those on the furniture), they probably would have doubled the cost of the set, so I'm not really complaining. But if you have two you can hack the drawer front off one and carefully excavate away the drawer front on the other, build the drawer, and have something in better quality. Can you tell I'm using these as a base for my own customizations?

As they sit, they are much classier than the stuff normally brought out for poor Barbie (all that low-rider pink furniture) and definitely beat stores that are mostly cardboard. Nothing could be called poorly done or cheesy. Articles for the boutique to sell like cosmetics bottles and jewelry (in colored plastic) are included besides a pair of shoes and what others have mentioned. At under $15, this is a complete steal-banditry. They are so inexpensive you can afford to hack them up for customs or just buy the whole series. The My Scene scene accessories have not disappointed me yet.

you are getting your money worth
This item totally suprised me.When I first saw it in the store I thought I was ony going to get the furniture. I never thought for only $$$, I would get the pair of shoes, the shoe boxes, and the shopping bags etc. I was so surprised that it came with all of the accesories that was on the box excluding the dolls.I was truely pleased with this product.I would not recomend for kids ten and under (safety hadzord). ... I can't believe I bought this!
My daughter absolutely loves her bratz, but I can't believe the pieces of garbage they continue to produce for these dolls, especially when you consider the price of them.My daughter has the limo, the FM Cruiser, the disco runway, and the spa.Unfortunaley she can't play with these items with out them falling apart.She spends more time putting the pieces back than she does playing with them.You would think that they would adapt the Snap and lock technology that Mattel uses on it's Barbie items.When you buy these bratz items don't forget to also purchase tape and crazy glue to keep your investment from falling apart on you.

Lots of Fun, but Pricey
I bought this for my daughter the Christmas before last, so she has had it for about a year and a half.
She still plays with it often, so I rate the limo highly on this point.Actually, the only faults I can see are the price (quite high) and the doors, trunk, hood,etc. come off too easily.

Let's face a fact: ALL the 3 "Salon 'N Spa!" are EXACTLY the same. Except 2 differents things:

It is 1 playset, divised by 5 "Fun Parts!" to play with. I didn't have any trouble at all by assembled the parts together and they DO stay together. But I will suggest to buy this playset only to display. That is beacause they are so many small parts that could easily get lost when you play with it.

Ok lets get strait to the point. ALL THREE OF THESE BRATZ SALONS ARE THE SAME!!! The only differences are the first one has dana in it the others have fianna AND they are diferent colors. I had this and the pieces got lost in a few days.The doll was good but her pants were way to short.If you want a good durable toy try My scene concidering two of my bratzs' heads popped off while I was combing the hair!! My scene is much better quality get those.

I really love the salon!There's just so much to do with it!I especially love those little corners where my Bratz can have their nails done or their hair, while others can go have a smoothie at the health bar or chill in the jacuzzi.So many options!I can play with friends or alone and because it's not so small, it doesn't get crowded -- not unless you use more than 4 dolls.My only problem is keeping the acccessories from getting lost.The compartments don't close well.And because they're not segregated according to their corners, I have no choice but to dump them into any available storage.It's a hassle setting up when I want to play again. ... Dana, the pretty Bratz brunette, shows that she can be just as stylish in prom attire as in her crazy street gear. Shining in glittering makeup and removable jewelry, she comes with two pretty, formal dresses that can be easily changed. The mint green dress is cocktail length, with a ruffled underskirt and a glitter-encrusted, strapless bodice. The full-length, taupe gown is a flattering two-piece. Awesome Dana!!
Dana is one of the prettiest formal funk dolls. She has a beutiful dress with silver dots and it's pink! her after party is a pretty green short dress with sparkles! I highly recommend this doll! She's awesome!!!

Bratz Formal Funk: Dana
Dana is a new Bratz girl. She has long brown hair that is in a small bun with hair spray and the rest of her hair is curly. She has light blue eyes, but I do not like the stars in her eyes. They make her look like a Barbie!
Dana comes with two outfits. I got her for Christmas a few years ago and have collected all five Formal Funk Bratz girls, the Runway, and the Limo. Dana is the prettiest of the Formal Funks. Her original outfit is a pink shirt with diamonds on it. A long pink skirt goes with it. There is green underneath the pink layer. It has silver dots all over and a silver bow at the top. A glittery pink wrap, pink gloves, a flower for her wrist, pink prom shoes, a silver crown, and jewelry go with this outfit. Dana's second outfit is a short green dress. A green wrap, green shoes, a green headband, and more jewelry complete the outfit.
Dana also has several small accessorires: pretend makeup, jewelry, two purses (one is pink with silver diamonds, the other is green with a row of blue diamonds), a mannequin and stand to hold the outfit she isn't wearing, a photo book, and sticker photos of the Bratz at the prom. The photo book is actually sort of useless. All you can really do with it is display it with the doll.
I have all six Formal Funks (that includes Nevra) sitting on my desk. I also have a ball of gum I am making behind them, and a few days ago, my cat knocked the Bratz over and Dana and Jade fell into the gum! Gross! Luckily, they still look good, and they did not lose their hair.

Jade is my favorite Bratz girl. I don't understand why so many people like the others but hate Jade. I think she has the best clothes and hair styles.
Her clothes in the Formal Funk set aren't as good as her friends' clothes, though. My favorite of her outfits is the one she comes dressed in, a feathery light orangish pink dress that comes about to her knees. It is the shortest dress of all the Formal Funk original outfits. The feathery part is sort of strange, though. An orange wrap, orange prom shoes, a red purse with a long string, a slver crown, and some jewelry go with this outfit. The second outfit is a light purple dress with flowers and sequins on it. I don't like it as much as the other dress because the neck on it is kind of strange and the top always looks wrinkly. The accessories that go with this include pink shoes (some of my favorite Bratz shoes!), a yellow wrap, a purple cat purse, and more jewelry.
I do not like the new open mouths. The teeth look strange! The stars in her eyes sort of make her look like a Barbie doll, too. I hate Barbie! And the Bratz usually look a lot better.
There are also some bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and hair accessories Jade can wear. She also has gloves, a flower to wear on her wrist, a little book, and sticker pictures of the Bratz at the prom. I don't know why they made the books, you really can't do anything with them unless you stick the pictures inside and display them with the doll, but I used to set all my Bratz dolls accessories with them and it did not look realistic to have all the stuff by their feet. I sat the Formal Funk set on my desk in a row, but my cat keeps knocking them over! A few days ago I had a big ball of gum I am making sitting on the desk, and the cat knocked Dana and Jade into the gum! Gross! Luckily, they still have all of their hair.
