5-0 out of 5 stars awesome!!!
I would not have thought much of the item based on packaging but we received this as a gift and it is my 2 1/2-year old's favorite. She loves the thing. It is now one of our favorite gifts to give. I have not heard of any problems and all the parts are sturdy. It is very cute to see how every little girl 'knows' to sling it over her wrist (I don't carry my purse that way..) Although, we are as likely to find trains and matchbox cars inside as we are to find the lipstick. Definately a great little item!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
My daughter got this purse for Christmas last year when she was 18 months old. She is still playing with it all of the time! She loves to take her purse everywhere, just like mommy does! :) She is so proud of her purse that she is constantly showing it to people. Her favorite things out of the purse are the lipstick, keys, and card case. She loves to put her own items in the purse as well. This is a very cute set!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute, very cute
I wanted to get my only little girl her own purse, so she could be like mommy... I have 4 children, 3 year old b/g twins, and 8 month old b/b twins. she got this purse when she was 18 months and she has some new "favorites", but this was a hit anyways. She loves the lipstick, and the sunglasses case (we bought her disney ones) and the mirror. But there are better ones out there, we bought her some chapstick and a little better "plastic" lipstick to keep in there, we supervise with capstick. The keys and phone are the only things she didnt pay attention to, because we have better ones. SO if you dont have the things that come in this purse, its great, but we did... so I have bought her other purses, that she likes better ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet to sing, whether you know the tune or not.
A co-worker gave this to my little girl on her first birthday, because she knows that I make up tunes for just about everything. But to her surprise, I already knew the song from the fabulous Philadelphia Chickens CD. This makes the song that much better, I've found that my daughter's favorite songs are those that are reinforced in many different places -- at school, in books, out of Mom's mouth, out of other family members' mouths.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite of my own snuggle puppy
Ms. Boynton's books are a huge hit in our home.Snuggle Puppy was given as a gift to my now almost three year old for Valentine's day and it quickly became her favorite...we read it each night and she gets so excited to hear the cadence in the book, she moves in rhythm to the words as I sing song the story.I even found her asleep snuggling the book under her arm one night.I will be sad when this is no longer part of our bed time story time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Will create fond storytime memories
My husband picked this book out for our little one when she was 10 months old. She wasn't too interested so on the shelf it sat until she turned 12 months. It is now a fundamental part of our bedtime ritual. She even gears herself up for the end of the song by puckering up! I look forward to reading more of Boynton's books! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

As the theme to Clifford's Puppy Days puts it, "Love makes little things grow." Best known as "The Big, Red Dog," Clifford was once a tiny pup. Divided into "New Friends" and "Little Puppy, Big Adventures," the DVD features eight stories. Part One: Clifford (voiced by Lara Miller, taking over from John Ritter of the original series) has fun in the sun with Emily Elizabeth in "Keeping Cool"; Emily Elizabeth can't find her lucky sock in "Socks and Snooze"; the gang hears strange sounds coming from an apartment in "The Monster in 3B"; and kittens Flo and Zo raise a ruckus in "Cat-Tastrophe." Part Two: Clifford makes new friends in "Jorge and the Dog Run"; the gang forms a story group in "Clifford's Club House"; Clifford becomes an artist in "Paw Print Picasso"; and Emily Elizabeth learns about guide dogs in "Hup Hup." Clifford’s Puppy Days teaches tolerance, cooperation, and responsibility in a fun, big-hearted way. (Ages 3 to 7) --Kathleen C. Fennessy ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining book for even the youngest baby
I started reading this book to my son when he was about 8 weeks old. He's 8- months now and we read it nearly everyday. No matter how fussy or distracted he may be, he always stops, looks and smiles when I begin reading this book.He LOVES the animal sounds!

5-0 out of 5 stars Animal sounds
My son has loved this book since we bought it at around age one, to now almost 3. He liked making the noises that the animals say when he was young, now he tries to memorize the short rhymes and "read" the book himself. It is one of the best of this small red puppy series. Consider getting the plush puppy - I haven't seen him anywhere else and my son LOVES him (and he has held up well too!)

4-0 out of 5 stars Great First Book!
My daughter loved this book and she could make all the animal sounds by the time she was 16 months old. Now my son wants me to read it to him at least 5 times a sitting and he says bow-wow at the end. (He is 14 months old) I will get him the other 3 in this series for Christmas. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

The popular Clifford the Big Red Dog children's television series gets a slick makeover, without losing any of its charm or soulfulness, in the feature adaptation Clifford's Really Big Movie. More elaborate background animation and updated computer effects turn this Clifford adventure into a visual treat, perfect for a story in which gigantic Clifford (warmly voiced by the late John Ritter), plus poodle-pal Cleo (Cree Summer) and loyal mutt T-Bone (Kel Mitchell), run off to join a failing animal circus and win (hopefully) a lifetime's supply of dog food. (Clifford is worried his beloved human family is spending too much on his care and feeding.) A guest vocal cast that includes John Goodman, Wayne Brady, and Jenna Elfman turns up the juice as Clifford offers his services to a Big Top spectacular featuring a rollerblading dog, a cow on a high wire, and a juggling ferret. A sweet comedy for the whole family. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Clifford's Really Bland Movie
I took my three-year-old to see this at the cinema and I would like to make two points about that trip that reflect the quality of this film.
1, We were the only two people in the entire auditorium
2, He fell asleep half way through the film
He loves the TV show and I often sit with him to watch as it is an entertaining and informative show with no edge.
The lack of edge however, is one of the major downfalls of the movie. With very little conflict, the film struggles to keep pace over its (extremely short) running time. The educational factor of the show ("Read Books Kids!") is completely missing and the few jokes that appeared were pretty predictable. This may entertain an undeserning three-year-old but not mine and there is absolutely nothing there for adults. With the advent of the likes of Toy Story, I thought that this kind of bland rubbish had ceased to be made.
The plot has potential but the bland script and even blander characters scupper any chances of interest. The voice cast are generally poor (the show's cast seem to have been replaced and John Goodman is wasted) and the only character who shows any potential at all - a ferret - is an obvious rip-off of The Lion King's Timon. The animation is, if anything, of a lower standard than the show in places and the general feel is "why on earth has this been given a cinema release?" Many of these flaws may be diminished on TV but with high quality Direct to Retail animations coming out of Warners (Scooby-Doo especially), how did this stand out as being better?
    The word is BLAND.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best - we love Clifford!
My son loves Clifford, he is 2 1/2.He loves the PBS show, he loves the videos and he is simply stunned by the movie. It has much better animation then the typical show. The characters look a little diff. but that doesn't seem to matter to him.It has a great story, helps him learn a lesson, and John Ritter is great. If your child loves Clifford he'll love this!

5-0 out of 5 stars Clifford, Cleo and T-Bone Join the Circus on the Mainland
An excellent 74-minute episode of "Clifford" - the show works well as an animated feature-length film. "Clifford's Really Big Movie" uses more sophisticated animation techniques, so the characters look a little different than the TV show but the voices sound the same.

Note that most of the story in the movie takes place on the "mainland" (i.e., NOT on Birdwell Island) with a new set of characters that are part of an itinerant animal circus act.The plot revolves around an adventure with Clifford, T-Bone, and Cleo - the other "Clifford" characters (i.e., the residents of Birdwell Island, including Emily Elizabeth) are peripheral to the story. ... Editorial Review

Hey, even Michael Jordan was a toddler once. And just think of how many more millions he might have made if he had practiced on a hoop-and-ball set like this one when he was a height-challenged hoopster. With the Easy Score Basketball set those impromptu dunking clinics will be challenging, but no longer impossible. Future MJs can now practice their skills with ease, because the Easy Score adjusts to height, has a size-appropriate hoop, and is made of durable plastic. The over-size rim (1 foot across, with a nylon hoop) can be set anywhere, as it only rises from 2.5 to 4 feet high, putting lay-ups and treys just within reach. A sturdy 15-by-19-inch base keeps the basket from tipping; this is important for young hoopsters who get a little too exuberant. The set comes with a tot-sized (6-inch-wide) rubber b-ball.--Paul Hughes ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun while it lasted
My son got this when he was 3. My 5 year old daughter thought it would be fun to lay it down and sit on it like it was a horse or something. The basket cracked. Before that, the tiny red piece of plastic that is used to adjust the height was lost, so it had to be used at the shortest height. We found the piece, and my husband superglued the basket. It worked until the first slam-dunk. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best purchases we've made
I couldn't help but add my 2 cents worth. We bought this for our 14 month old son. He absolutely loves it. We have had it for three months and he still plays with it every day. Our 3 year old loves to get into the action too and Dad and the kids literally spend hours playing ball. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a great idea for inside physical activity during the cold months, ours was in the living room, it's nice because it doesn't take up too much space.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best Christmas present!
I bought thisbasketball set for my son's Christmas gift this year. My husband loves it as much as my son! When my husband gets home from work they spend at least 30 mins playing ball.It is easy to adjust and the ball is just right for his little hands. We live in an apartment so it stays inside and we don't have sand in it.This is hands down the most used toy in his very very very extensive collection! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Nice see-saw
We have ALOT in our backyard. Kiddie pool, sandbox, sand and water table, swing set, a custom built tree house, but we didnt have this. Our 3 year olds loved the see-saws at nursery school, that they got this one for their birthdays in February! It is VERY educational because it teaches cause and effect, cooaperation, and sharing. My twins love going back and forth and its very safe. They now know that this see-saw takes TWO people to ride, while the police rocker and doggie rocker in the basement were for one person. I hear them pretending its a ship and I've seen four kids on it at a time. We all love it and its a very nice looking see-saw too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun AND nice looking!
I noticed this when we got the matching sandbox/picnic table set and later got it for our toddler and baby. Our toddler thinks it is much more fun with two (not using it alone as some do).We have to hold the baby on right now, but in a matter of months, it is going to be even more fun!Giggles galore. :)

4-0 out of 5 stars FUN!!!
Just bought this for our 2yr old...she is enjoying this even by herself. I didn't think I was going to get the handles snapped in place; finally did it...I need to get into shape!!! Our daughter sits in the middle...and we have done me on one and her on the other and she says "up" "down"...good learning. This is a teeter totter...you sit on it not stand on it like I read in a previous parent review.
I thought the price was satisfactory...sure we will get our money worth out of this one. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

When Christopher Robin asks Pooh what he likes doing best in the world, Pooh says, after much thought, "What I like best in the whole world is Me and Piglet going to see You, and You saying 'What about a little something?' and Me saying, 'Well, I shouldn't mind a little something, should you, Piglet,' and it being a hummy sort of day outside, and birds singing."

Happy readers for over 70 years couldn't agree more. Pooh's status as a "Bear of Very Little Brain" belies his profoundly eternal wisdom in the ways of the world. To many, Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and the others are as familiar and important as their own family members. A.A. Milne's classics, Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, are brought together in this beautiful edition, complete and unabridged, with recolored illustrations by Milne's creative counterpart, Ernest H. Shepard. Join Pooh and the gang as they meet a Heffalump, help get Pooh unstuck from Rabbit's doorway, (re)build a house for Eeyore, and try to unbounce Tigger. A childhood is simply not complete without full participation in all of Pooh's adventures. (All ages) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SO much better than the cutesy Disney stuff
Don't get me wrong, Disney has done some great things, e.g. Snow White. But their versions of Pooh (and some of the other classics) are missing so much of the original wit, humor, intelligence, warmth, and quality of illustration that A. A. Milne and Ernest Shepard created.Honestly, I think adults get as much enjoyment from the originals as the kids do.

This volume is a fine way to get the complete set of stories, plus a nice introduction with an explanation of the origin of Pooh, the inspiration for Milne and Shepard.

After you order this, get the original (illustrations & text) Beatrix Potter 'Peter Rabbit' volume, for many of the same reasons.Your children will love you for it now and thank you in years to come--and you will be in for a real treat too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding collector's book.
I got this for my wife (A Pooh fan if there ever was one) when she was six months pregnant with our son. She absolutely loved the classic illustrations, and reading through the book once myself the writing is quite good. I've been reading from this book to my now two-year old son about once or twice a week (I work nights =/) when I am able to when he is in bed ready to go to sleep, and we both enjoy the quiet bonding time while I read to him. He doesn't quite understand everything, but enjoys the rather bad attempts by me to give each character a different sound/voice/accent, but of course he can't tell it's bad. ;)

We keep this book out of his reach in a very special area, and plan to give it to him when he has his own child as a family heirloom. The book itself is beautiful, wonderfully crafted and illustrated, clearly worth saving for future generations. If you like Pooh and company at all, get it, you won't be dissapointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good to see the classics live on
There is no way Disney's b*stardisation of A A Milnes characters is anything even close to the original. These stories and poems are works of art and it bothers me that they are so degraded by association with an unorignal cartoon very much pitched at the commercial realm and the lowest common denominator. But the originals live on. Do yourself and your children a favour. Buy this book. Introduce them to good literature and stories of timeless (and ageless) appeal. Turn off the TV and read to them. Then, when they go to bed, read them for yourself. ... Read more
