    Editorial Review

This limited-edition Game Boy Color console in the color of kiwi comes with a free copy of the game Pokémon Crystal. Quantities are limited, so catch yours while you can!

The Game Boy is that small, colorful handheld video game system that's clutched by folks playing it everywhere. Popular within a wide age group, including a good number of airport-lounging power executives, the Game Boy has a true hard-core fan base that comprises millions of kids around the globe.

Nintendo's Game Boy debuted in the late 1980s, and has since sold more than 60 million units worldwide--far outpacing other handheld game systems. With a catalog of more than 1,000 games and dozens of add-on peripherals, the Game Boy is a monster of a handheld game system, and a remarkably affordable one at that. Early March 1998 brought the release of the Game Boy Color system--an upgraded version of the original. It's equipped with an 8-bit CPU, which doubles the original Game Boy's computing power. The small LCD screen can display up to 56 colors simultaneously--out of a 32,000-color palette--delivered via boosted video-processing memory that provides remarkably sharp and vibrant graphics.

The hundreds of available games vary from tremendously compelling to instantly forgettable. Quality or not, the entire library of games designed for the original system is playable on Game Boy Color, but buyers should note that not all Game Boy Color games will work on the original Game Boy system.

The Game Boy Color system is available in an exotic array of colors and special editions. Accessories and add-on peripherals abound, enhancing the playing experience with everything from vibrating feedback to in-game bumps and crashes, extra battery power, and even a clever camera package that allows players to capture, tweak, and print images. ... buy this game and Game boy color in a bundle to save a lot of money great for kids of all ages

4-0 out of 5 stars Best ever --- that is, until Ruby/Sapphire comes
Pokemon Crystal is a great game and with a GBC included, this is gonna be fantastic. Pokemon Crystal is just like its predecessors Gold & Silver.

    Pros:
    - The ability to choose to play as a boy or a girl
    - Defending Pokemon perform animations when sent into battle
    - New Suicune side-plot
    - New Unown side-plot
    - Game intro is different from Gold & Silver, and IMO more entertaining

    Cons:
    - GBC/A only
    - Like G/C, only has a certain amount of Pokemon
    - Not as good as the upcoming Ruby/Sapphire versions

Overall Crystal is near perfect but still has the same flaws as Gold & Silver versions. I suggest saving money for the Ruby/Sapphire versions coming early 2003.

5-0 out of 5 stars good overall with one exeption

A run-in with an evil curse leaves everyone's favorite big-headed bird in danger of being turned to stone. The only way to lift the curse is for Tweety's friends to find five magical gems scattered around the world. Tweety & the Magic Gems plays like a virtual board game and lets you play as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, or Porky Pig. Using the Game Boy Advance Game Link cable and separate Game Paks for each player, up to four players can compete to save Tweety. ... Read more

This game really rocks! My sister got this game a few months ago, but it was in Dutch. Even though the game was in Dutch we still were able to understand the concept of the game. You get to go around the world looking for 5 gems. You can play as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosimite Sam, Porky Pig, Marc Anthony,( he's a dog like the one in Tom and Jerry)or Sylvester the cat. This game is great for everyone, but little children will love it.

3-0 out of 5 stars A general overview
This is a game only for the car (Unless you get carsick.) it is very time consuming, and you should only rent it for long road trips. Also, contrary to what most say, there is a way to save. if you just turn it off while playing, the next time you start the game, you continue from where youwere exactly.

    Editorial Review

The PlayStation2 takes the Gran Turismo franchise to new heights in thethird edition of the venerable racing series. The graphics are sure to grabyou--the cars and tracks are awe inspiring, and there are some incredible lightingeffects. This game is much more than eye candy, though.

The gameplay in Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is the same as its predecessors;fans of the previous games will feel right at home, while newcomers will be ableto pick things up easily. There are more than 150 cars from which to choose, andplenty of tracks upon which to race them. Arcade mode works well for a quickfix, while simulation mode provides outstanding replay value. The sound effectsare impressive--each engine has a unique sound, and tire screeches fromdifferent cars sound noticeably different. The soundtrack is a good mix oforiginal compositions and a wide variety of recording artists, including MotleyCrue, Raekwon, Jimi Hendrix, and Snoop Dogg.

One minor flaw with the game is its relatively predictable artificialintelligence. Computer-controlled cars follow distinct lines, and you'll be ableto pick up the patterns after a few races. Considering how far the graphics havecome since the original Gran Turismo, it's disappointing that the AIhasn't progressed similarly. Despite this, GT3 remains an outstandinggame. Few games offer its combination of high quality and immense variety.--Raymond M. Padilla

    Pros:

    • Incredible graphics
    • Excellent physics and controls
    • Great soundtrack
    Cons:
    • Predictable AI
    • No Porsche or Ferrari licenses

5-0 out of 5 stars Only GT4 is better!!
The only driving simulator that is better is GT4. If your expecting an easy arcade like racer with Lambo's and dressed up import's go try NFS or some other title. Gran Turismo is the measure by which all racing game's are compared to, and justifable too. Realistic graphic's and physic's are great. Expect to take a lot of time learning to drive. This is not a casual racer. Only two comment's/annoyance's are the music and number of car's. 1. Cars: Or should I say lack of car'
    s. I think there were more car's in the original Gran Turismo(not sure I could be wrong). Also I think that more of a variety of car's. After winning the 50th Nissan Skyline(not sold in USA) it get a bit annoying, lol. This is fixed in GT4 so don't worry too much(number of car's). 2.Music: Aside from Lenny Kravitz and Motley Crue the sound is pale in comparison to GT2(The best of Gran turismo soundtracks). This also goes for GT4(apart from Van Halen's-"Panama"). It seem's as if they spent so much time and effort on other area's and music was an afterthought. In the first two (GT and GT2) soundrtack's they were an integril(I know I spelled that wrong, lol)part of the experience. Only serious racer's and car nuts need to apply.

1-0 out of 5 stars I MEAN NO STARS!
    This game has bad graphics.
    It has sucky cars.
It is so hard to play on different tracks.
The cars dosn't even have a driver in it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The King of All Racing Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been a fan of Gran Turismo ever since it's debut. The game is so addictive that I have played it for 10 hours straight! The graffics are stunning and the courses are well made. My favorite part about the game is that they brought in F1 racers. I smoke the competition every time I use my 900 horsepowered monster! Over all this game is AWESOME! ... Read more

Fully licensed by the National Lacrosse League, BlastLacrosse is the first and only lacrosse game for the PlayStation. All nine teams--complete with official uniforms and rosters--from thisindoor lacrosse league are in the game. The gameplay is heavilyinfluenced by the NFL Blitz series, known for its fast-pacedarcade-style action. Teams get hot after scoring three goals in a row, givingthem an advantage until they're shut down. Also similar are thedramatic comebacks and lead changes that are a regular part of thegame.

Players will react strongly to Scott Farrell's commentary. Some willlove his frequent one-liners and comedic timing, while others will hateit. There will be no argument over the game's shoddy graphics, however. The players are extremely blocky and lack detail. The game's controlsare a mixed bag. While running, passing, and checking are fairlysmooth, controlling a player's shot can be challenging.

Technically and aesthetically Blast Lacrosse is an average gameat best. However, it offers the unique experience of a novel sport.Gamers looking for something different will want to consider thistitle. No other game will let you play out your dream of becoming aRochester Knighthawk. --Raymond M. Padilla

Come on this game didn't go big dawg. Do not by this game cause its a fool. First all the lacrosse sticks don't look real. I mean look at the cover who would be able to cradle a ball in taht small of pocket. Also, they should have college teams to cause they are the shizzle. Also, I think they should have made real lax pads made my real companies. Like the shaft saying stx kind of like how they have in tony hawk 3. Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Video Game (14 June, 2001)

    Editorial Review

The world's favorite plumber makes his first appearance (alongwith playable characters Luigi, Peach, and Toad) on the Game BoyAdvance, and, for the most part, Mario's arrival is welcome indeed.

Super Mario Advance is primarily a slightly tweaked port ofSuper Mario Bros. 2, the (still) very popular side scroller fromthe days of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). So expect plenty of running, jumping, and hurling of items at many a foe.

The game's graphics and sound have been a given a nice overhaul fromthe original game, and are clear and bright enough to please old-schooland new fans alike. While Nintendo did a good job shrinking the visualsdown to handheld size, the tiny GBA screen can get very busy at times, making accidental death due to sometimes less-than-precise controlsfrustratingly frequent--at least in the beginning. Most gamers shouldovercome such mishaps with a little patience.

Also included is the still fun, if forgettable, original MarioBros. game from many eons ago. Up to four players can engage in acoin-collecting battle mode or the classic mode. Super MarioAdvance isn't the game to show off the power of the GBA, but it isa long, fun title that will satisfy today's gamers with a taste fromthe best of Mario's past. --Mark Brooks

    Pros:

    • One of the best NES games is faithfully ported
    • Upgraded sound and graphics
    • Gameplay is easy to get into
    Cons:
    • Somewhat loose controls
    • Neither fresh nor original for those who've played the NES version

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST GAMES THAT EVER EXSISTED ! ! ! !
I love this game. I personaly think this is one of the best games of all nintendo platforms. I can't get tired of this game no matter what. You should buy this one aling with SUPER MARIO WORLD, the sequel to this game from the SNES platform. I suggest you buy this one immediatly. I really do. Go buy this one. Donkey Kong Country 2 is another great choice of a great SNES video game. BUY IT NOW !

4-0 out of 5 stars The Second Mario Dream
I often have been enjoying a lot of classic video games from the 80's that have really been resurfacing over the past few years. It really is wonderful to see older games feel fresh and newly exciting again. That truly has been the case for one lucky plumber, Mario. Nintendo really has done a remarkable job of reintroducing Mario games to the Game Boy Advance audience. It has done very much wonders for a lot of people, who are now enjoying the feeling of the most groundbreaking entertainment that has ever brought games to the home. Nintendo did it originally with Super Mario Brothers, and their sequel was opposite any of the classic Mario stories that had ever been told.

Super Mario Advance: Super Mario Brothers 2, is a restored version to the classic video game from the late 80's. The game features your option of one of four characters to control, Mario or Luigi, Toad or Princess Toadstool. The game is located through seven dream world stages and 20 different levels. The gameplay focuses in on a nightmare Mario has as he and his pals stop Wart and his henchmen including Birdo, Mouser, Fryguy and many shyguys from ruining the dream world Mario is stuck in. The game doesn't feature the traditional Super Mario gameplay, where instead you dig deep to pick up items to hurl at your opponents.

Yet, with all the goodsides, there really are a few downsides to this game. The graphics do seem a little bit out of tune, unlike their original NES gameplay, or even the remastered gameplay from the 1993 Super Mario All-Stars compilation for the Super Nintendo. Another problem is the controls. They sometimes can make it very difficult for you to hurl bombs and vegetables when need ed at your foes. Sadly, that does bring unfortunate problems in gameplay at times.

All in all, Super Mario Advance: Super Mario 2 is a great exciting twist to the original Super Mario Brothers saga. For anybody who hasn't tried this Mario game, it really just is worth it for the Game Boy Advance. It really is a surprise that just is a delight.

    Editorial Review

One of the best things about the Game Boy Color is that it'sbasically an original Nintendo Entertainment System that can fit inyour pocket. What this means for gamers is that many of the great gamesfor the classic system are being ported to the Game Boy Color, givingus a chance to re-play (or in some cases discover) the best game titlesfrom the '80s.

Nintendo's own Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is among the first ofthese conversions, and it certainly remains one of the best. Actually, calling this game a conversion really doesn't do it justice. Thisversion actually contains more levels than the original game, includingthe entire Japanese version and a slew of extras (such as a two-playermode).

The controls in this game are easy to grasp--even for novice gamers. All Mario can do is jump (and shoot fireballs with the right power- ups), but it is amazing to see how much gameplay can be squeezed fromthese simple actions when the controls work in direct harmony with aplayer's thoughts. The only element of this game that could have beenbetter is that the Game Boy Color's screen isn't quite large enough toshow the entire layout of the original game screen, so players mayoccasionally need to press up and down on the control pad to see someoffscreen action. While this can be distracting, it ultimately hasminimal impact on gameplay. If you are looking for the quintessentialside-scrolling platform game, you can't do much better than SuperMario Bros. Deluxe. --T. Byrl Baker

5-0 out of 5 stars Momma mia, what a come back!!!!!!
I was a vivid gamer back in the day, and Mario was always one of my all time favorites. I have long since moved away from the video game scene, but now and then I play the classics on the PC. And when I played this version, I was amazed at how great it had been revived to the GBA. The graphics are the same, the gameplay is the same, the sound is the same, but there is new extras and bonus stuff, a pathway to choose, multi player ect.. I have to say this is the best Mario Bros. (1) game ever! Even better then Mario All Stars (snes) version!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars the best
i had this game and its great i love the fact that it is exactly the same except for the fact that instead of 3 lives you start out with 5 and when you die you are asked if you would like to continue or start over. two great pros to the classic game which make it even better. also the new levels are challenging but great. i lost my copy of this game a fewyears and now i cant find it anywhere! :'(

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Mario Bros. Deluxe - A True Classic
Super Mario Deluxe was my first Gameboy game ever.It was my first video game ever.It was my best video game ever.Even after buying 16 other Gameboy Color and Advance Games, this is still one of my favorites.
I know what you are thinking: This is a Gameboy Color game!It must have horrible graphics and ridiculously simple gameplay.Well, you are wrong.Yes, it is a Gameboy Color game.Yes, I bought it 2000.But, it is a great game. The graphics are blocky (What do you expect from a Gameboy Color game?) but still pretty good, and the gameplay is anything but simple.
You play as Mario, and you have to collect gold coins, jump on enemies, and save Princess Toadstool, more commonly known as Princess Peach. Once you complete every level in Regular Mode, you have to go through the same levels again as Star Levels. They do have minor changes to make them harder, such as replacing Goombas with Buzzy Beetles, but they are pretty much the same as their regular counterparts. Also, as you complete each level in Regular Mode, it becomes available in Challenge Mode. When you complete a certain amount of the game, the You Vs. Boo Racing Option becomes available. (You can also race against a friend via a link cable.)After you complete more of the game, the Super Mario Bros. 2 Option becomes available. But, that is still not all.You get a table of ten high scores that you can combine with a friend's table. You unlock pictures for your photo albums and other features that can be printed with a Gameboy Printer (which hardly anyone has) and you can tell your fortune and record important events on a daily calendar.Whew, that's a lot of features!
As you can see, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a very complex game.It took me two months to complete the Regular and Challenge Modes alone, and I haven't fully completed any of the other modes.Super Mario Bros. Deluxe never gets old, though. When I brought it to school in 2003, four or five kids were swarming around me asking to play it, more people than were ever asking to play a Gameboy Advance SP game all at once.I have summarized my review in the following list of pros and cons:

    Pros:

It has tons of different features and modes.
It takes a very long time to fully complete.
Even after you beat the game, it never gets old.

    Cons:

    It has blocky graphics.
Many of the features require a Gameboy Printer, which not many people have. ... Read more

    The voice acting is funny.
The music is great (even the DK rap, and I HATE rap, but this one grew on me).
Three new Kongs: Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky!
The bosses are fairly easy (except for Boss number 3.
    I HATE HIM SO MUCH!!!!)
One of the new items is a "Crystal Coconut", which possibly pays homage to the TV show (which I think is GREAT).
It's fun just to explore the levels even after you've beaten them.

    CONS:
You have to beat Donkey Kong Arcade twice in order to progress (and it gets harder the second time.ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!)
The third boss is SO VERY HARD.It took me several months to defeat the guy, but fortunately I could get progress in the game anyway.Yippee!

This game is most definitely worth the cost, but you might want to find it at GameStop or someplace like that.I got it for seven bucks and it worked like it was new! ^_^

4-0 out of 5 stars This is...one helluva game!
What can I say? This game is HUGE, but it's fun. I was initially adamant at trying it out because I had been disappointed with Banjo-Kazooie the year before, but as soon as I got into it, I was hooked. This game is not for the weak of heart. It is about twice the size of Banjo-Kazooie. There are twice as many Golden Bananas as B-K had Jiggies. There are more than 3 times the amount of bananas (for Banana Medals) than B-K had Musical Notes. When you play a level in Donkey Kong 64 and then go back and try a level in Banjo-Kazooie, it feels terribly restricted. Yet the gameplay is still essentially the same. You move around the levels (you control five characters this time) and perform a variety of tasks, after which you are awarded a Golden Banana for your efforts. And then you lather, rinse, and repeat. Boss battles play an even larger part of a role than in B-K, where the only boss battle seemed to have been at the end of the game. Everybody have the same general moves, but they all must earn them independently from Cranky, Candy, or Funky with their specific coins.

And then there are the tedious aspects that everybody remembers in Donkey Kong 64. With five playable characters, Rare seemed to want them to work as a team, but sometimes that may be a bit of a bother. No, it is actually more of a big bother. Let's suppose there is a switch that Donkey must open. We can assume that the things behind that door are for Donkey Kong, but nope. Rare just made a Donkey out of us. It's for Diddy and Tiny! And then there are times when you are walking along collecting green bananas for Chunky but all of a sudden, the bananas change to blue! So then your only choice is to find a Switch Barrel and change to Lanky. It gets a bit tedious. And then there are the backtracking. You have to unlock certain characters in the beginning, and they are not all in the first level. So you must then go back and get their respective Golden Bananas in previous levels. Meh. All of this constant switching really takes away the fun out of the game, especially if you're playing it through for the fourth time. It's still worth it to play through the entire game at least once, although certain frustrating moments would make it acceptable to avoid the 101%.

But Donkey Kong 64 is still an amazing game. Even if you hate the repetition, you can't overlook the technological wonders Rare has instilled. The game had been one of the most stunning five years ago, as Rare was already setting themselves up as one of the experts in graphical achievements. Although each Kong look rather bland now, the game's visuals are certainly pleasing on the eyes. However, the same can't be said about the game's camera. The camera can often go crazy at times, especially during swimming moments or on Diddy's Jet Barrels. Those are times when I go on a cursing frenzy. There are other equally frustrating times. I suppose the camera had always been the death of 3D platform/adventure games. The game's music is terrific. Although people have a love/hate relationship with the infamous D.K. Rap, the rest of the game's soundtrack are lovely. Songs like the Main Menu music and Frantic Factory are catchy, while Fungi Forest can actually send a chill down your spine. And then there's the humor. Actually, some of the game's humor seems to be kind of forced, but then again, the same can be said about the humor in Banjo-Kazooie. Other parts are genuinely funny. However, as spectacular as the game is, the game's tedium and spotty camera keeps it from becoming a classic. It's too bad. Nintendo had such high hopes for this game. ... Read more

    F-Zero : Maximum Velocity
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Video Game (14 June, 2001)

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

If you like blazing-fast racing games (and have thumbs ofsteel), F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is one of the wildest rides yetfor a handheld system. Based on the famous Super NES game of yore, thefuturistic F-Zero asks you to pick from a starting lineup offour pilot hovercrafts that tear across flat but hazardous tracks. Yourgoal: compete for first place so you can advance to the next track anddifficulty level.

To have any success in F-Zero, great reflexes and a memory fortrack detail are absolute musts. While the controls are responsive, ingeneral the frictionless racing means that almost all cars have asuitably loose feel to them, and require skilled pilots to handlecorners. Be warned that gamers with adult-size thumbs may be in for avery painful experience due to the constant mashing of the GBA'sshoulder buttons. When you get bored of racing the computer, you cantake on up to four opponents via the link cable--and unlike multiplayerGame Boy games, only one cartridge is needed.

While F-Zero features many tracks and skill levels, beyond thesimplistic (yet challenging) racing, there isn't much depth.Fortunately, the silky smooth animation and detailed graphics shouldkeep fans of speedy arcade racers taxing their thumbs long afterthey've brought home the checkered flag. --Mark Brooks

    Pros:

    • Ridiculously fast-paced arcade racing done right
    • Many tracks and hovercraft to choose from as you gain skill
    • Graphics give a good hint of the GBA's pixel-pushing power
    • Four-player racing is a blast
    Cons:
    • Extremely painful to the thumbs of adult-size hands
    • Lack of depth may be a turnoff once novelty of speed wears off

5-0 out of 5 stars My first GBA game
This was my first GBA game and I was stunned by the amazing graphics this game featured. It has the best control set-up out of any GameBoy game I've ever played. The race cars are cool and the tracks are amazing. The have obstacles but not too much. The snow tracks can sometimes be tough when you end up slipping on the ice. The key to getting the best turns is to press the "A" button repetatively while turning instead of holding it down. FOr more hits about racing, press the SELECT button at the title screen to access the secret tutorial. I would recommend this game because it is the best racing game I've played on the GBA.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good launch game brought down by apoor soundtrack.
While I still play this more than most of my Game Boy Advance games it is a little disappointing.Yeah yeah yeah the speed is excellent and its pretty fun but thats about it.Its really not as good as any of the other F Zero games Ive played and I think its because of a poor soundtrack.I really liked the music in the past 2 F Zero games but the music here was just too bland and it was mostly drowned out by the sound of the vehicles engine.I know that a soundtrack isnt everything but to me it adds more fun to the gameplay.Hopefully the new F Zero game coming out in September will be better but if you play your Game Boy Advance a lot and like racing you should still buy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars F Zero the good and the bad.
Well after about 3 years of waiting the sequel to F Zero X is finally here. Now that I think about it this game was like a tasty little appetizer to F Zero GX which is a game that came out last year.Where do I start?Oh the graphics.I happen to think that they are better than the ones in the SNES classic which came out in 91 but obviously not as good as the graphics in F Zero X or F Zero GX.Yeah I know F Zero X got a lot of complaints about it not being detailed enough but when you think about it the graphics were just really colorful and had some scenery that really stood out like the skull in Devils Forest, the statue in Big Hand or the space station in Big Blue.I still think the graphics in this game really look good for a portable system.Yeah they may not be gorgeous as the ones in Metroid Zero Mission but to me they still look great. And now for the controls. They are everything youd expect and want from an F Zero game.Really good and easy to use.The game really gets easier when you find out that you cant just hold the A button down at all times you have to repeatedly tap it.And it also easier when you get used to the fast paced speed and sort of memorize the tracks which is easy for me cause I have like a photographic memory. And for the hovercraft. You dont get to unlock as many vehicles as you did in F Zero X or F Zero GX but that doesnt matter. It admittedly loses a little replay value after you unlock all the cars but if replay value just means that it keeps you coming back for more then this game has great replay value.Yep this is one of the best if not the best racing game for the GBA because its one you will definitely want to play again. ... Kirby Tilt N' Tumble
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Game Cartridge (12 April, 2001)
    list price: $29.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Just when you thought you'd played it all, along comes something truly bizarre. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble isn't just a silly name thought up by Nintendo's central marketing--it's a title that explains how to play this game, as well as a caution against what might happen to you while playing. It's one of the most gimmicky games ever for the Game Boy, yet it works--brilliantly.

The plot has something to do with our hero, the pink puffball named Kirby, in his adventure to retrieve the stolen stars of his homeland. Like past Kirby games, there's plenty of surreal imagery that features clouds, lots of pastel colors, and plenty of cuddly bad guys.

Chances are you'll be mesmerized by Kirby's control scheme. For the most part, your tilting of the Game Boy unit determines the direction in which Kirby will roll. It's extremely simplistic yet so engrossing that even adults will risk embarrassment while shifting their entire bodies in an attempt to save Kirby from meeting his doom.

Even for a game based solely on level design, complaints here are few. Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble requires precise tilting and stable hands, so don't play it on the bus or train. It's easy to lose track of Kirby while tilting due to the Game Boy's inherent screen-glare problems, and that will cause timing problems. Those who think they're too cool for ultracute gaming should avoid this game. Everyone else, though, should get their hands on this one before it rolls away. --Mark Brooks

    Pros:

    • Completely different, yet easy to play
    • Detailed, surreal graphics
    • Very addictive

    Cons:

    • Touchy controls need steady hands
    • The Game Boy's inherent screen-glare problems make it easy to lose sight of Kirby

3-0 out of 5 stars I leaned the hard way
This is a really fun game, and the graphics and sound are great... only problem is that is is not GBA SP compatible (I don't know about regular GBA). It loads fine and looks good, but because it works on a motion sensor chip, and GBC cards point down, and GBA SP cards point up, up is down and down is up, and right is left and left is right. You COULD learn to compensate for this, but what a pain!

If, though, GBA regular loads cards the way GBC does, it should make a great addition to your collection. If you have GBA SP, and no GBC, I can't recommend it. Of course, you can get a GBC for $10. at GameStop, if you really want to play this particular game. It is a pretty nifty game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
I got this game and it is GREAT! The tilt control is awesome and it is very straightforward. Ten stars!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tilt N' Tumble - Continuous fun!
Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is now considered a bit of an "older" game now, but I decided to write this review up anyway, being the experienced gamer with this one game that I am.So, thanks for reading, and I hope this helps you.

Back when GBA came out on the market and was all the rage, I was stuck with my little, hot pink Gameboy Color when everyone else had the sleek new model.I was also a kirby fanatic, and was desperate for a Kirby game.So after some research on the internet, I finally found one - Kirby Tilt N' Tumble.I was disappointed that it wasn't being sold anymore, so finally, for Christmas 2003 my parents bought it for me from eBay, unfortunately just the cartridge and no instructions or box.

I was anxious to get playing right away that morning, so I popped it in and found it was a very easy game to learn.I already new a little about the controls, tilting to move Kirby in the desired direction, and it was nice that whenever I had to learn a new move to advance, the game would pause and teach me.Eventually, I easily learned the whole game without any instructions!

With 5 goofy yet fun mini-games to play, 8 exciting and challenging words to explore, plenty of cute and cuddly bad guys and a simple, easy-to-follow storyline, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a game that doesn't lose its fun anytime soon after buying, versus other games that lose all the fun after you've beat the game. Why, I've owned it for a year already and there's still secret words and warp stars I'm discovering all the time.

Now, there are a few cons I'll warn you about before you go out and spend your money. This isn't the game to bring on that 10-hour car trip to visit Aunt Ruth, because the constant moving in vehicles makes it hard to control Kirby. As well, it's not the kind of game where you can lay back against the pillows, stretch out your feet and sip the lemonade, either. You're always swivelling your body back and forth, side to side, and so forth when tilting your little pink puffball. Not a big deal, but its not just hitting buttons like other games.

I don't have this problem too much, since I usually play in good light, but you may have a hard time keeping an eye on Kirby when you tilt the screen forward and lose sight of him from the light glinting off the screen.Annoying, yes, but the game is still worth it, trust me.

Overall, this game is definitely worth every penny you're paying for it.As long as you don't mind things being cute and cuddly all of the time, Kirby Tilt N' Tumble is a great gaming experience that will last for months and months after your purchase. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Rayman Advance is perhaps the first must-play Game BoyAdvance game available. It's a full conversion of the PlayStationclassic brought to life in vivid detail with level-by-leveloptimizations; gorgeous graphics; large, detailed, well-animatedcharacters; and that patented Rayman gameplay Ubi Soft has beendelivering for years now.

Those unfamiliar with the character and story should expect yet anothercute take on the 2-D side-scrolling adventure game, but Rayman easilystands alongside Mario in terms of brilliance. Rayman, a cute,big-nosed guy with pompadour bangs and an infectiously upbeat attitude, isthe Guardian of the World. Oddly, he has hands and feet but no arms orlegs to support them. That doesn't stop him from doing his thing, however. His powers include jumping, clinging to ledges, using his earsas a helicopter, and, most importantly, punching. A helpful fairy dolesout these powers to you as you complete tasks and progress in the game.Rayman's task, as usual, is to defeat enemies and free creatures(called Toons) caught in great iron boxes. Also, Rayman collects"tings," which he can use to barter with magicians as he rids hisbizarre little world of oppression from the likes of colorful bossesMoskito and big, bad Space Mama.

The most striking features of Rayman Advance are its graphicsand gameplay. The design is extremely creative; there are tons ofthings to bounce on, ride, and grab, and plenty of other tricks to do.It's the sort of game that always has you doing something new, which isno mean feat considering it spans 60 levels. Rayman is a first-rate 2-Dplatform game for all ages. Hey, pardon the pun, but, well, everyoneloves Rayman. --Andrew S. Bub

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT Game for ALL AGES W/ GREAT GRAPHICS
Rayman Advance is an amazing game for gba. Gameplay can be very difficult at times ( a good thing) and it takes a considereable amount of time to beat it. Stunning graphics are placed throughout the game and make it a lot more enjoyable. Plus, you get fun powers, bosses that aren't THAT hard, puzzles, mini games, and a great ending. To note on the ending, unlike many reviews, you CAN defeat the main boss. The VERY last level is challenging and loads of fun!!!! i reccomend this game to anyone!!!!!!!! IT IS WORTH BUYING!

3-0 out of 5 stars cute
rayman 3 is so much better than this pathetic exuse for a game. the music is really bland, and can get annoying, and sometimes things look didgital! the bosses are ok, exept, you never battle mr dark, the main bad guy. don't waste your m oney, and buy this game. buy r3. much better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Rayman for the GBA
Rayman Advance is exactly like the first one for the Playstation. The only thing different is that it has 10 fewer levels than the original, but it's no big deal, this game still has 60 levels. I must say that Rayman is one of the most colorful games I've ever seen. It also has the old school side-scrolling platform-type gameplay. This game will probably never get old to me, there is always something new to discover. This is one of the reasons why you should own a GBA. ... Read more

    Paper Mario

    Game Cartridge (09 February, 2001)

    Editorial Review

Nintendo 64 owners have been patiently waiting for a decentrole-playinggame, and, at long last, one has arrived in the form of the perplexingPaperMario. World-famous video game icon Mario stars in this unconventionalRPG,which was originally announced as Super Mario RPG 2. Don't be fooled by the cutesy visual exterior of this game, which borrowsheavily from the well-established Mario universe. Yep... it's the same lovableMario who dons his familiar red overalls and unkempt moustache. However, thecatch is that Mario now stubbornly appears as a two-dimensionalcharacter--despite the largely 3-D exterior gaming environments that surroundhim. When ourflat-headed friend turns around, his paper-thin presence becomes immediatelyapparent. It's a cool gimmick, but fortunately Paper Mario is far fromacut-and-paste cartoon caper.

As with most RPG titles, players must battle with several menacing enemies asthey travel from place to place on their quest. Each encounter requires gamersto strategically choose between various modes of attack. For example, Mario isparticularly handy with the hammer--thus you might opt to select hishangover-inducing hammer attack. As the adventure progresses, additionalcharacters willjoin your quest. Your ever-growing posse gives you more fighting power, aseachteam member brings new attack moves and powers worth mastering. To advancewithin the game, you'll need to pay close attention to your health meter, enemyhit points, and your ever-expanding attack options. The game starts withenemiesthat are easy to defeat, but it quickly becomes quite difficult to survivesubsequent attacks without careful planning.

Unlike most RPG games, each attack sequence is enhanced by a special actionfunction. Instead of passively sitting back and watching each attack moveoccur, the player can enhance your attack by pressing a button or moving thedirectional controller at precisely the right time. As someone who has rackedupseveral hours (and more than a few snoozes) during repetitious RPG attacksequences, the action feature is a welcome addition to break up the monotonyofmultiple attacks.

Fans of the traditional Mario games will appreciate the return of familiarcharacters, such as Princess Peach and Luigi. Perpetual baddie Bowser evenplaysa key role in this addictive adventure. Best of all, there are plenty ofhiddenareas and extras to uncover. Paper Mario may boast elements of theclassic platform gaming genre, as well as the traditional RPG--but itultimatelycuts through all expectations to deliver an experience that appeals to bothcasual and hard-core gamers. --Brett Atwood

    Pros:

    • Weeks of gaming due to expansive environments
    • Hidden goodies to uncover
    • Classic Mario gameplay mixed with traditional RPG action
    Cons:
    • Highly addictive (prepare to lose some sleep)
    • Cartoon exterior may not appeal to some hard-core gamers

4-0 out of 5 stars A dumb gimmick, but a great game
Generally, seeing Mario's picture on a game is an indicator that you'll get a technically excellent game that won't show a lot of creativity ... Mario games are among the best in any genre, but they don't add much to the genre.

Paper Mario is an exception. It's a very innovative RPG, expanding on the "action combat RPG" concept from the SNES Super Mario RPG. Fighting is conducted on a typical RPG combat screen, but Mario can both power up his moves and deflect his opponents' through skillful timing. This lets them run an amazingly tight difficulty curve -- this is the only RPG I've ever played where gaining a single hit point can make a noticeable difference in your power level.

The game's writing is typical for Nintendo -- kid-appropriate but not boring for adults, with some sly humor at the expense of its characters. While for the most part it's a cute cartoon, there are moments of real fear and wonder.

The "paper" bit is the only downside, and it's not much of one. Really, it's just a silly gimmick, and adds little to the gameplay aside from the occasional visual joke. It acts as a separator, making it harder for the player to relate to the character ... not that that would have been terribly likely anyway.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Well, I won a free game rental at Video Plus, so I chose this game. Let me tell you, I was happy with my choice. I loved everything about it. I played for about 10 hours every day (I'm not kidding about that), and finished it before my rental period was over. I'm glad I managed that feat, because otherwise I would have wept when it was time to return it.

The worlds you'll travel to are so cool. I found myself exploring a giant toybox, a colorful garden, and a gorgeous desert palace, among many other environments. Since I didn't use a strategy guide, I was constantly wondering what would come next.

As I travelled the extensive world, I met many party members who would help me out, both in battle and in puzzles and exploration. Each partner has their own distinctive combat abilities, puzzle solving skill, and personality. For example, Watt, a sweet, good-natured sun ball that joins you in the Shy Guy Toy Box, can use electric shocks to attack in battle, and you can also use her to light up dark rooms. Parakarry, a distracted mail deliveryman, used dive-bomb attacks and could fly me across short gaps. The list goes on and on.

The combat system is a mix of action and RPG elements. You select commands from a menu to attack, but if you time your button presses carefully, you can do a lot of extra damage. Press A just as you rebound from your jump to do a double-jump; Rapidly flick the control stick to build power for a dive bomb; each attack has its own button combination, so you won't get bored.

Outside of combat, you can level up your HP and FP (FP are like MP), collect badges that make you more powerful, find Super Blocks to grant your partners new moves, and, most importantly, solve the perfectly-done puzzles. Each puzzle makes perfect sense; if you look carefully, you'll always find a way to solve it with a combination of you and your partners' abilities.

Finally, there are some little extras that can really make a difference. The graphics are bright and colorful, and look great even today; they make even minor characters memorable. There are a few sidequests, such as delivering letters and collecting Star Fragments to earn new badges. And after every world you complete, you'll get to play a short interlude where you control Princess Peach. It's these bells and whistles that really make the game unique and fun.

Buy this game immediately. It may be on a last-gen system, but the masterful gameplay and pure fun are timeless.

5-0 out of 5 stars its good!

5-0 out of 5 stars 18 Wheeler = A great game to play
18 Wheeler is a very fun game. It puts you in the mine as a real pro driver. You get to drive all over states. But the only problem with this game its too short. You'll get to earned money. You can get caught up with storms, crash into other trucks and cars. Most of all I think they made this game so that people will have a wonderful time. Play it with 2 players and really have a time with your life. Well enjoy your trip to Cally in a Cadillac.

3-0 out of 5 stars truck man
I love trucks so I thought it was a great game, but I was pretty dissapointed when I beat the game in less than an hour for the first time.I have played the game through many times, but now I'm sick of it.NOW! dont make the same mistake I made, I looked at the game on the internet and the graphics were outstanding, or so I thought, in fact I bought my dreamcast for this game, right when it came out. Rent the game for a couple of nights and I can asure you you'll have mastered this game and be very sick of it in a couple nights.I spent [$$$] on this game and its not worth it, but don't get me wrong this game is still very fun, maybe only at first

4-0 out of 5 stars Good fun, for about half an hour anyway...
18 Wheeler was a good game in the arcade, and now you don't have to blow a dollar a pop to play it.The Dreamcast version is everything the arcade version is, crisp clean graphics, smooth controls, and great gameplay make this one of the last good Dreamcast games, think of it as Crazy Taxi with a big truck.Only problem is, and its a major problem at that, is this game is real short, and there are no extras, something Sega should have incorporated for their home conversion.Other than that, this is a good DC pickup. ... Earthworm Jim

    Video Game

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

This is a good thing: Earthworm Jim has been lovinglyported and primed, and is now ready for action on the Game Boy Advance. The game is a fairly straightforward port of the old Super Nintendoversion, only with the exclusive Sega Genesis Intestine level added forgood measure. It provides weird, wicked, and hilarious 2-D actionthat's perfect for handheld gaming.

The story concerns the titular annelid, Jim, and his discovery of asuper-special space suit that lets him walk, jump, run, climb, andfight like a man. He's also got a machine pistol, and can grab his ownwormy body and whip himself around to reach high places. Decidedlywacky stuff. His enemies consist of psycho hamsters, crows (naturally),cats, and creatures made of garbage. His ultimate enemy is the evilPsy-Crow; he wants the suit from Jim and will stop at nothing to get itfor his evil queen.

Earthworm Jim remains one of the weirdest 2-D side-scrollinggames you'll ever play, mainly because of the sheer amount ofinnovation packed into each level. Jim will bounce on tire stacks, usezip lines, propel himself using machine-gun fire, and utter an emphatic"Dang" whenever struck by the enemy. Power-ups include special weaponsand health, as well as free lives, which you'll need becauseEarthworm Jim is also one of the hardest games you'll find onthe handheld.

In terms of innovation, creativity, graphics, and sound, EarthwormJim is head, stomach, and tail above most titles, but it doessuffer more than most from the Game Boy Advance's well-documentedlighting and screen problems. Because the enemies in EJ tend tobe small and fast, they can be hard to see without some lighting help.Regardless, this one remains a classic despite the intervening years.--Andrew S. Bub

    Pros:

    • Odd and hilarious!
    • Great graphics and characters
    • Classic gameplay
    Cons:
    • Small, fast enemies can be hard to see without proper lighting
    • Will be too challenging for some

5-0 out of 5 stars EWJ has done it again!
Earthworm Jim made his first debute on the Super Nintendo System and now he's playable on the amazing 32 bit GBA system.
    This game features:
    Exclusive mini games
    High quality graphics
    And impressive sounds.

What I didn't like about this game was:
The animation wasn't really as fun as it was on other consoles.
It can be a bit fustraiting sometimes.

But for me as an Earthworm Jim fan I'd recomend you to get this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game!
Earthworm Jim? Cool game! I've played it on SEGA, and it was purdy good! I like it! Now it's on GameBoyAdvance! Cool! EARTHWORM JIM! EARTHWORM JIM! EARTHWORM JIM! EARTHWORM JIM! EARTHWORM JIM! It's cool, that you can shoot from pistol and crack these pesky starlings with your head. And the bosses aren't so boring like in the other games. Cool!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition for your GBA
When I first saw this game on GBA I knew i had 2 get it because I had hours of fun playing it on Sega. The Pros of the game are: 1. Good, solid Graphics2. Smooth gameplay3. Great sound fx and background Music. 4. A simple but challenging game which makes it so you can play it for quite a while.
The only thing I didn't like was that you could not save your game so you have to start all over if you turn it off or quit. But overall, this game is funny, excitind, and a must have for your Game Boy Advance. ... Read more

Dodge ball, the schoolyard sport in which kids bean each other withrubber balls thrown at welt-raising velocity, really is the sport of bullies.Thankfully, Super Dodge Ball Advance presents an experience in which thewelts aren't included, while lots of fun and laughs are.

The game features two teams of squat, cartoonish, big-headed kids. Some are onthe playing field and some reside in the back zone ready to scoot up a lob andnail an opponent in the back or from the side. The animations, particularly whena kid gets squashed, are amusing, and, after all, are also the point of thegame. Amass points and win the match, then move on to the next horde ofbig-headed kids.

There are several kinds of throws you can make to surprise your opponents, including a cool corkscrew throw and a straight-up overhanded bean ball. As youknock teams out (no pun intended), you advance toward the world competition(shades of South Park here), where you represent your favorite nation. You can also link up with an opponent for a little head-to-head action, which isthe best way to dish out some virtual pain onto local bullies who lack your madvideo gaming skills. --Andrew S. Bub

    Pros:

    • It's virtual dodge ball! What's not to like?
    • It's one of the first sports games for the GBA
    • The graphics are perfect and the action is fast
    Cons:
    • The sound is a little grating

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game
Super Dodge Ball Advanced is a great game.In my opinion, its got lots of replay value.Sure, you can beat it in a half hour or less, but its a sports game, so you can keep playing. The graphics are average, but how good graphics do you need to play a dodge ball game anyway. The music is alright, but a little repetitive. The game can be either really hard or really easy and anything in between with the five difficulty settings and other settings too such as, how tough it is to throw a super throw. You can link up, but I never have so I couldn't tell you how fun that is.To sum it up here is a list of pros and cons.
    PROS-
    1. Good replay value
    2. Multiple diffuclty settings
    3. Average graphics
    4. Appropriate for all ages, but then again, what isn't
    5. Its dodgeball
    6. Game Link compatible
    7. You can name characters and teams even not your own
    CONS-
    1. Repetative music
    2. Unlike the NES game, there isn't a bean ball mode(mode that pits you individually against your teammates on a field)
    3. Also unlike the classic, there aren't any River City Ransom Graphics, instead people don't even have noses. If you never played River City Ransom, the old dodgeball game or World Cup just forget that con
    4. There is no team creator, which really, really sucks. That also ruins the whole point of versus mode too because you both have the same premade teams with just possible name differences.
    5. Too short of a game, needs more teams or something.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but shallow
This game is a blast but I must say its extremly shawdow.Fans of the old dodge ball game from an older nintendo system will probly love this game, I did but then I unlocked everything in a hour or so, sure there is more matches to play but its just a bunch of the same, I wore this game out in a day or two which is a shame because its a great game...just not enough substance.Get it if you pay $$$ or less definatly, think about it strongly otherwise.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun at first, gets old
This Game has a lot of the same characteristics of the original for the Super NES, which will make older gamers happy. But the game play doesn't change enough for my taste.Even the indroduction of new, more powerful teams didn't peak my excitement. In my view, it's worth renting, but because a good gamer could beat it in a half hour, it's not worth buying. ... Editorial Review

If you're still suffering the lingering effects of Pac-Man fever, you'llbe excited to hear that Namco's Pac-Man Collection repackages theinfectious original with three other Pac-Man-themed games in a new anthology forthe Game Boy Advance.

Pac-Man Collection contains the original Pac-Man, plusPac-Attack, PacMania 3D, and the never-before-seen-out-of-the-arcadePac-Man Arrangement game. Pac-Man plays like you remember, andlike Namco Museums's picture perfect re-creation of Ms. Pac-Man,it features spot-on control, graphics, cartoon cutscenes, sound effects, and, best of all, music from the coin-op (who can forget that opening theme?). Assuch, it's easily the best of this collection.

PacMania 3D is basically a 3-D version of the original, and is just aboutas uninspired now as when it came out. Pac-Attack is a cool variation onsuch puzzlers as Tetris and Columns, and as such it's perfect forhandheld gaming. Pac-Man Arrangement is an odd little game that playsmuch like the original but adds weird power-ups that, for example, make yougigantic.

Because Pac-Man Collection is a perfectly emulated package, there isn'tmuch to gripe about, save that Ms. Pac-Man is a far, far better game thanthe original, and you'll have to shell out more money if you want that one. Butfor retro gamers on the go who also want to track down ghosts and eat powerpills, this package is sure to sate your hunger. --Andrew S. Bub

    Pros:

    • Perfect graphics and sound
    • Perfect controls
    • Pac-Attack is a fun Tetris variant
    Cons:
    • It's missing the best Pac game, Ms. Pac-Man
    • Pac-Man Arrangement and PacMania 3D aren't really great games

    Editorial Review

NBA Street is the best arcade basketball title available. Period. Why? No refs, no clocks, no fouls. Players will knock you over, and theypractically live for blatant goaltending throughout the game. Realistic? No, butit's always fun--even if you hate basketball.

Street has two different game modes--City Circuit and Hold the Court--yetthe differences here are minimal. Both feature three-on-three games of 21, inwhich you must assemble a squad composed of (initially) NBA players. Soonyou'll play against street legends (read: bosses) that, once defeated, can beadded to your team. Your ultimate goal is to defeat the biggest legend ever:Michael Jordan.

To survive the streets, you must learn which buttons to mash as you masterspecific stunts. This will add special points to your score and give you accessto different ways to score. Though similar to NBA Jam and its sequels,Street is deeper, and sports a surprisingly developed finesse game.

Street does commit some fouls, though, with its over-the-top, repetitivecommentary and lack of play modes. However, even if you hate arcade-stylebasketball, you'll find Street differs from the pack, making it a solidMVP contender.

    Pros:

    • Good controls and gameplay
    • Pleasantly cartoonish graphics
    • Arcade approach makes it fun for those turned off by very technicalbasketball simulations
    Cons:
    • Horrific commentary
    • Only 2 very similar gameplay modes
    • No 4-player support

    Editorial Review

When longtime Sega mascot Sonic the Hedgehog made his debut on the Dreamcast console in Sonic Adventure, gamers were stunned. Sega had not only used the game to show off the tremendous possibilities of the then-new hardware, but they had reinvigorated the platform-style arcade adventure genre with massive, intricate levels, gleefully distracting minigames, and even a new kind of virtual pet, called a Chao, that could be combined with other pets, traded with friends, and even exchanged over the Internet. Sonic Adventure 2 ups the ante of its predecessor with all-new puzzles and levels, and even faster action reminiscent of the early Genesis-era games. Knuckles and Tails are back, as are the Chao pets (who can now talk!). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Sonic Adenture 2, great game
This is one of my favorite Dream Cast Games. It has good graphics, but when they talk it's like wacthing a Japenese Godzilla movie being translated into english.

You may be either the Dark or Light with each differnt levels and story line. The characters you get are Shadow, Rouge, Dr. Robotink, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

You also unlock SoundTracks you can listen to in the Options menu. I never really pay much attention to this though.

My favorite thing in this game has to be the Kart Racing Feature You unlock in the Tails and Rouge chase level.

This is also for two players too.

You can also get new objectives inthe level you beaten in the extras menu.

Overall this is a cool game you must buy it when you get the chance.

5-0 out of 5 stars This Game is a 100% Definite Buy!
I hope this reveiw will be good to anyone who is thinking about buying this game. This was my first gamecube game I ever got, and i still play it.One of the best things about it is that there is always something to do, whether it is trying to get all "A"s on the stages, still trying to finish up Dark or Hero mode, then there is the whole thing with raising chao. But the game has a good storyline, and you can play from the dark charcters point of veiw ( Dr. Eggman, one of the only times you can play him!, Shadow the Hedgehog, like the oppesite of Sonic, and Rouge the Bat, someone which does the same thing Knuckles does in the game,) or the hero charcters (Sonic, Knuckles and Tails). The soundtrack is good and graphics are also very good. But going through raising chao is a whole nother story. You transport to Chao World, and you hatch an egg, and give animals and Chaos Drives found in the level. The change drasticly and start to be better at certain things, I won't say some of the things that can happen, and make the chao look cool, but a hint is, unless you want a neutral chao, try raising it with only one side of charcters, hero or dark. That is the great thing with Chaos, you can never beat that part of the game.I hope my reveiw was worthwille for Sonic Adventure Battle 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars If I had to live with only one game then its this one!
I must first admit that I am subjective as I have played Sonic games since 1991.Sonic is, without question, the greatest video game series created.Mario who?

I don't have a Nintendo Gamecube, so I don't know how well the "port" of this translated to the GC.I do have a PS2 and Xbox and anxiously await for Sonic Heroes.I also have a GBPAsp and play Sonic Advance (1 and 2) often.

Sonic Adventure 2 (and Sonic Adventure 1) are worth locating a Dreamcast for alone. With Dreamcasts selling now for only $25 at local game stores, you don't have much to invest to get this game playing. (If you don't already have a DC.)

Its not perfect, it does have some quirks such as the camera positioning sometimes during the game. While you do have limited control of the camera in real time, there are times in the game where you may have to make a "blind jump" because of the view angle.A "blind jump" is a jump over an obstable that can't be seen. You simply jump and hope for the best.

Regardless of this quirk, this game is the game I would want to be with if I could only have one game. With vibrant graphics, fast aracady game play, a 3D nostalgia of the excellent 2D scrollers of years past, this game could very well be labeled as "the best game ever for any console". ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Overrated
It's probably just me, but this video game doesn't fit my taste like the old-school games do.The 'excitement' found here is nothing compared to a wedding reception or a high-school prom (depending on what moves you make).Plus, only segments of the songs are included. This could be better if the whole song was played. At least that's my opinion.

I found it watching others participate, but I've been forced to give it a try to one of the 'slower' songs. Not many moves. Not too much fun.

This game seems okay if you want a good workout.I'm not bashing this game.In contrast, it might grow on me over time.Right now, I ... I may be too old-fashioned.:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweat to the Beat...
First off, let me get the one bad point out of the way. I don't like the music. It's okay and I didn't expect better from a dance game but it just isn't to my taste.

Okay, now all the good. If played diligently, this game will work on your rhythm, reflexes, stamina and timing. I even found it easy to push myself into playing 3 times longer after I started getting tired and actually felt like I was dancing after just a few hours. A few of the levels are easy enough for a beginner but I would recomend taking real dance lessons if you can get through the harder ones.

And finally the technical. This game has a wide range of options on how you can play with it's game, workout, lesson, and trining modes. Each with verying difficulties. Combine this with it's 25+ songs and you should never get board playing it.

It's an all around great game so get your hand out of that bag of crisps and dance!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this game to death!
This is one of the best games I've ever played. My brother got it for Christmas and I've already beat all 32 levels.(Only on easy, though.) Its really fun (and quite addictive!). If you're tryingto lose weight, theres a "workout mode" that tracks how many calories you burn. Its an awesome game! ... Read more
