    Editorial Review

This 15-inch soft, stuffed Madeline will appeal to younger girls who might have trouble dressingthe smaller, 8-inch Madeline doll. The larger Madeline is made of flesh-toned cotton with embroideredfacial features, and dark red yarn hair. She's wearing her traditional outfit from the books, with theexception of her dress having a Velcro back closure. Over her dress, Madeline wears her favorite blue feltcoat, which has big, shiny black buttons that little girls can handle themselves. Her outfit is completed withwhite tights, nonremovable white socks, and black felt shoes. The top collar of her coat is inconvenientlysewn shut with a few tightly sewn threads, which can be carefully removed by an adult. Madeline's hat isalso sewn loosely to her head and can be removed easily.--Marcie Bovetz ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A consistent favorite
We bought the Nona 15 rag doll friend of Madeline for our then 3 year old daughter last Christmas. This year we had to add outfits and accessories. The doll is a favorite that gets tucked in almost every night. The soft body makes her easy for little hands to dress, change outfits, and snuggle with. Some of the smaller items like the little shoes or gloves may need some adult help to be put on. The outfits are very well made and durable.Overall I am really pleased with how well this toy has held up and held interest.

5-0 out of 5 stars SHE'S MADELINE AND SHE ROCKS!!!!
I LOVE THE SHOW AND I LOVE THIS CUTE LITTLE DOLL! I THINK IT WAS A GREAT IDEA AND I THANK WHOEVER CAME UP WITH THIS DOLL!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute, Huggable, and Great for Motor Skills
This soft doll is a great introduction to dolls for a toddler. The clothes you can buy for it are adorable, and my 3-year old niece loves changing her clothes for every occasion.

The doll is big enough that young hands can handle taking the clothes on and off. If your youngster already has the Madeline books or video, then she will enjoy the doll even more.

The face on this doll is very appealing, and there are no hard edges to detract from its "huggableness."

I was impressed with the quality of the clothes sets. My niece may be too young to appreciate the detail of the ribbon flowers on the tea dress or the ribbon trim on the ballerina dress, but I'm not! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Her First Barbie
I myself am not a Barbie collector but always loved them as a child and loved the Tales of Peter Rabbit also. When my husband and I saw this item in an ad we knew we had to have this beautiful Barbie for our newborn daughter as an Easter gift. I was very pleased when it arrived. She is beautiful. I love the classic Peter Rabbit design on the dress and the mini book is cute. Barbie is proudly displayed (in her box) in the nursery for my daughter to treasure forever. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This talking book comes with an interactive "magic pen" that works like a hand-held computer mouse pointer. Children can opt to turn the paper pages and listen to the story read with different voices for each character. Or they can interrupt the read-aloud session to play with the magic pen (permanently attached with a wire). They can point the pen tip to any word on a page and hear it pronounced, or touch a picture and hear a sound effect (such as "Strike one!" for the baseball bat). Very similar to the popular Living Books computer games, this 10-by-11-inch book is more portable than a home computer. Stories in this set include Lil's Loose Tooth, Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, and Winnie the Pooh in A Sweet Good Morning. The set also includes a paper piano keyboard and map and human anatomy games.--Gail Hudson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I would pick this over the writer's Leappad
I have both a LeapPad+Writing and regular LeapPad like this one, and I can honestly say that the extra writing feature is not worth the extra money.Stick with the LeapPad regular and get a lot of LeapPad readers.Make sure that you don't buy this if you have babies that tear things up, though. My son has all the LeapPad books, but half of them are unsalvageable because of my toddler that likes to chew on EVERYTHING.The LeapFrog customer service is awesome, though... they have replaced my books for $10 each so I don't have to go out to buy new ones!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Toy I have ever bought
I bought a pink and purple LeapPad for my daughter when she was three for Christmas. She is five now and still plays with it every single day. Everytime a birthday or Christmas rolls around she asks for more LeapPad books. This toy has been a godsend during car and plane trips, hotel and restaurant entertainment, and any other situation when children need to sit still.

She has learned the alphabet, numbers, spelling, and reading from countless hours on this pad. She owns several books and each get used all the time. I think this is honestly the best toy invented in a long time. She has been able to figure it out because it is well thought out for the young user. They can hit the stop button with the pen to stop it, or hit the Go button to continue each story. Each book also has games and other activities, so they are well worth the money. It is impossible for my daughter to get bored with it because each book is countless hours of reading, games, music, and excitement.

I encourage all parents of young children to buy this LeapPad. It is well worth the money. It is a toy that they will not grow out of in a short amount of time because the books range in ages.It is not only educational but very durable. Our LeapPad has been dropped countless times and is still intact. The only complaint I do have is that it tends to consume batteries quickly and you need a screw driver to take off the cover to put new ones in. Other than that, that is the only negative I have to say about the LeapPad.

2-0 out of 5 stars Toooo sloooowww for my boy
My boy has the attention span of a 4 year old. Why? Because he is 4 years old. He has no patience for the slow pace of age-appropriate leap pad materials. The learning games are too short, too slow, and too repetitive for him. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great For All Ages!
I just recently added Daphne to my Barbie collection and I am so glad I did!She is one of the most beautiful Barbie dolls I have ever seen!

5-0 out of 5 stars This Barbie Is Rooby-Rific!!
My 2 1/2 year old daughter is the world's BIGGEST Scooby Doo fan who at around Christmastime also became very into Barbie, so this was the ideal gift for her.(Probably why she got 3 of them!Hehe..)Anyway, I think Barbie as Daphne is great. Her outfit is too too fab, I especially love the fact that the boots hinge at the heel making them easy to take on and off even for the littlest hands.Daphne has really gorgeous waist length red hair with cool pink sunglasses perched on top.She comes with lots of great accessories which may be more important for those collectors who plan on leaving it in the box as there's no way your child will be able to keep track of a flashlight the size of a tic tac. There really isn't much to say about the included plush Scooby doll, Mattel could have improved upon that detail some, maybe as a posable plastic figurine or something but.. oh well.Overall I highly recommend this toy for any Scooby or Barbie fan young and old alike. If you are a MIB collector, this would be a wonderful addition to your collection as the box is quite attractive with it's spooky 3D cut outs and nicely displays all of the accessories as well as Daphne and Scooby.I only wish Mattel had made the rest of the gang available, I'd buy them all..

In a welcome departure from the usual all-glamorous Barbie doll, Spanish Barbie isboth glamorous and useful as she teaches your child rudimentary Spanish. Press a button on herback, and she recites numbers, colors, days of the week, and simple phrases in English, followedby Spanish. She comes equipped for the job with an easel, a set of colorful, illustrated flashcards, a small notebook, stickers, and even a Spanish test. She is fully articulated andis stylishly dressed in a flowered print skirt, a pink tank top, a denim jacket, andchunky pink sandals. Muy bien, Barbie! --Diane Tuman ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars DUST COLLECTOR
This item looked like fun when I bought it but very quickly fell apart. The pieces would not stay together and therfore...the kids had no interest in playing with it.It made more of a mess than it was worth and it now collecting dust.

3-0 out of 5 stars falls apart
This toy falls apart too easily. I would say dont waste your money. The only good thing about it is when you press the button and the bob the builder song comes on which my 2 1/2 yr old enjoys. But thats not worth the 15 bucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars A WONDERFUL TOY !!!!IT IS SUPPOSE TO FALL DOWN!!!
I just purchased this for a gift for my little boy who just celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday (Dec. 8, 2002)!And He LOVES THIS TOY!I bought it even though recent reviews said that it fell apart....Well, it is SUPPOSE to fall apart!Bob is suppose to build it back up when it falls apart. My little one didn't get frusterated with this.He can even put the pieces back to where they go...WITHOUT assistance. So parents don't be disappointed when this toy falls apart. It is suppose to fall apart...that is the fun of it building it back up. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Likea McDonalds toy...
The only problem I have with these toys is that they look like something McDonalds gives away in their Happy Meals. They are small and really do not do much, not worth the money...

My sons are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 and love anything Bob the Builder....But, the two of then stand at the coffee table and play together and are very creative.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves Jumbo Talking Barney
My three year-old son has had this Jumbo Talking Barney for almost a year and it is still his favorite. He loves to wrap his arms around it and give it a big hug. Barney sits at the table with him, he goes on hide and seek adventures with him and of course, sleeps with him at night. My nephew saw my son's "Big Barney" and loved it too. We got him one for Christmas and he also enjoys playing with it. This Jumbo Talking Barney makes a great friend!

    Kick N learn Piano
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Toy
    list price: $24.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Parents who responded to piano lessons by kicking the instrument mayappreciate this toy as much as a baby will. Two ties hang it from the side ofthe crib, five "keys" on the soft cover conceal five buttons, and colored shapesabove each "key" light up when they are hit or kicked. In one mode, the five"keys" play individually, like piano keys; in another, they play a medley of 10tunes; in a third, they sound out animal names, numbers, and other concepts thatare keyed to the pattern on the cover. The Kick 'n' Learn Piano includes anon/off switch, auto off, and high/low volume control. Requires three AAbatteries. --Richard Farr ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the younger end of the age range
We got this as a shower gift. When my daughter was about three months old we would sit her up in the boppy seat in her crib and let her kick at the keys. She enjoyed the sounds and the music and it was part of her daily routine until she was about five months old. Then she started to get a little bored with it and started using her hands to make the noise. Finally she stopped playing with it all together by the time she was six months. Over all it's a nice toy.I liked the noises that it made and the music wasn't too bad, though after a while the same songs got to me.However, she has toys with more annoying songs, so I wouldn't let that stop me from buying it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good
I think that this is a great toy because it gives babies a chance to have fun, hear interesting sounds, and learn piano!!!:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent toy that grows w/ your child
I read a great review about this product in Parents so I had to check it out for myself. My daughter who was 4 months at the time I purchased this, absolutely loves this toy. It has 3 different levels of interaction: music, animal noises, and counting/alphabet. She will wake up in the middle of the night and start kicking away, and if it's turned off - she'll actually get mad that the music doesn't come on! I initially thought the price was a bit high for a "crib toy" but it's worth every penny!! ... Read more
