dissapointed fan...
i went to my cousins house and we played with this toy. after about 10 minutes, the door broke, not off, just cracked.i thought barbie toys were better than this, hope this helped.i would not get this toy for anyone under 10.and only if they are collecters and mature.and wont break things easily.
but this happened a whilt ago and i would get it only if i was careful.key word here people... be CAREFUL, you can still get it though!!!fun, it just depends if you take care of it

My daughter loves it!!!
My daughter loves playing with this.It can entertain her for an hour which at 3 years of age is a long time.Many of the rooms convert into other rooms.There is a swimming pool, a dessert bar, a dance floor, a photo lab, several beds for resting, etc.No one will be complaining of boredom in the barbie cruise ship for sure!

The only complaints I have is that 1) there are a lot of little pieces and I am constantly cleaning them up and 2) it is hard for her to open and close properly without my help - it she tries I often have to put some of the ship back together.

CUTE BARBIE CRUISER!!
Cute cruise ship....my girls love it!!Comes with a camera that activates great cruise sounds.Very realistic overall...pretty easy to assemble.My biggest complaint is the pool--when I tried to inflate it, I discovered that it had a hole. Incredibly disappointing...but overall, it was a great freebie (free during the 2003 Christmas season with a minimum Barbie purchase).

Barbie Nutcracker Craze Coloring Book
If your daughter is into the Barbie Nutrcracker craze, she will enjoy this coloring book although I felt it was a bit expensive for a coloring book. My 4 year old daughter was very happy for it and rushed off to start drawing in it. For all ages
Even though I'm almost thirteen years old I still love playing with dolls.Just because I'm older then most people who rate this item, the barbie house is perfect for all ages.One thing I really like about this house is that it's a traditional house.What I mean is I have been playing with dolls for a long time.Ever sice toy companies are changing the dolls into like fashion dolls. It has a lot of great qualities that come with the house. The house allows me to use my imaginastion to the extreme. I can honestly say that this is a must have barbie house!

Old but still in VERY good condition! :)
I was pleased when i got this for Christmas like when i was in grade one and now i'm in grade six! The elevator (which has been copied by the Bratz company) is a wonderful idea for the house..also, it was the first dollhouse that i have ever gotten with a door bell(another great idea!) Now that i have the Happy Family dollhouse, i can make-up a whole town of mattel creation!! Scince this dollhouse was created, there has been a castle, 2 smaller houses and the Happy Family house (My fave!)
I just love the bed and the quality of this dollhouse is GREAT! (Better than the Happy Family one) Here are some things it comes with:

Shampoochie is a total bore...a real "dog"!
Around Christmastime the commercials for Shampoochie started appearing....frequently. I felt my heart sink and a feeling of dread as my daughter said what i knew she would say "I want it!" I figured I could "forget" to purchase it and she would never notice,but she kept harping "I want it" whenever the commercial went on. Well, being a nice Mommy...I bought the much-wanted Shampoochie. It is almost February. Since Christmas Shampoochie has been played with ONCE. He sits in a pile in a toy chest. Oh sure, she had fun playing with it that one time...(although the "spray" didnt seem to work and the bubbles werent as full and frothy as the ads might lead you to expect). Shampoochie is the sort of toy that should be in the $10 and less pile....but becasue he's a MATTELL and a BARBIE inspired dog, he's expensive. I think tonight I will put Shampoochie in the bathroom. Maybe she'll bathe him in there. She sure as heck isnt using HIS little tub for anything!(P.s: my daughter (age 5) is sitting next to me chiming "His ears change colors! His ears change colors!" so if you want to pay close to $30 for the joy of seeing his ears change colors ONCE, knock yourself out.)

A hit with my kid...
We arranged for my 4-year-old daughter to get this from Santa at a Christmas party recently.It's not quite what I expected for the money... we can't get the dog's slippers to stay on her feet and the bubbles come out in tiny spurts.Having said that, however, I must tell you that those things don't seem to matter at all to my daughter.She absolutely loves it.She plays with it more than any other toy she owns.She loves to take the dog with her when she takes her bath and even insists on making a bed for shampoochie next to her own bed every night(the dog is perpetually wet from all the bathing so she can't sleep in my daughter's bed).So, I guess my opinion has to be tempered by the joy shampoochie has brought to her owner. I can't imagine a little girl not loving this.

Very lovely
I purchased this doll when it first came out but wasn't quick enough to get the Fairy Queen...
She is a very nice doll although her hair gets really messy since it's in that little ponytail. Her wings don't really stay up but oh well. I also got the outfits of when she's the baker's daughter and when she has supper with Daniel but the former is too tight and it ripped so she can't wear it :(

Overall tho, I reccomend (sp?) this doll.

Love Barbie-Odette is a very beautiful one, but the wings have rather pointy tips on them and a 3 year old may poke an eye or hurt themselves on them another way. The crown is flimsy and it broke in half and is still attached to its head. My daughters love them despite it all.

Great toy
This tent is fun, easy to set up, and easy to stick back in the box. My five year old loves it.

Fun But Not Long Lasting
I was impressed with this item and how quickly and easily it was assembled right out of the box, with plastic poles connected by elastic string it was a cinch. But my 5 year old has had this item for about 2 weeks and the vinyl top has already ripped.Granted the product comes with a patch kit, but it a very small patch kit and will not repair any tear over an inch long.It has a round window on one side that when given too much pressure rips easily, giving the parent limited choices on what to do with it.You could use duct tape, which is sad to use and take away from the beauty of the playhouse, but it is the only thing that might repair it make it playable for a short time longer. It is sad because my daughter absolutely adores this playhouse. I would have gladly paid a bit more to see it be made more durable. Best doll in my collection so far
As a collector of 32-inch walking dolls, I couldn't resist buying the My Size Barbie of Swan Lake. She is a whopping 38 inches in height and is made prettier and more durable than my walking dolls. The hair is weaved generously, not sparsely like my other dolls. As for the outfit that Barbie of Swan Lake came in, I never keep doll clothes anyway. I bought a cute pair of jeans and a T-shirt for infants 0 to 3 months old and shoes with socks for newborns.All fit Barbie perfectly and look darling as well. The jeans are long shorts or capris on her!

I am a 15 year old girl who has over 30 collectable dollls. Usually i get 2 of the same dolls because i have a job and a lot of money. i bought two of these dolls i played with one and it wasn't that fun but it is very durable. How is it Educational? But it is a good toy.

This is one of the most beautiful Holiday Barbie Dolls; and I have them all.I love the way mattel is packaging their limited additions.I love to display my collection in my home and this way I can put her on a shelf or put her in my display cases.If you are a collector you should try and get this one. cute play house
I bought this play house for my 3 year old daughter.She absolutely loves it and I like the fact that it isn't made out of plastic like the older ones were.The one I have has a flap for the door and I did not get a storage bag with it.I may try to get one anyway.Maybe it was a mixup at the store.But my little princess does love it.It is sooooo easy to set up too.It just pops open rather than having to put it together like the older plastic ones.Those were a pain.It seems fairly durable too.I got a good deal on it though.If it breaks, I will probably just get another one.

my daughter loved it ,she only 18 mo. old ,tobad it is made so cheap that i had to return it, the seaming was coming undone and it is made of a cheap paper like materal and my daughter has a cat so hahaha can you imagine cat claws paper like materal if i would have kept it i'am sureit would have been ripped to ribbons..andi thought it would have been bigger.. very small .

Another Cheap Product From Playhut
Buyer beware on all Playhut products online that don't specifically tell you what the material is! They used to promote the nylon they used and made sure it was in each product description. Now they don't even tell what the product is made from because they are using plastic and "paper like" materials and selling them for the same price as durable NYLON. augh! I can wash my old Playhut things easily. They air dry and can be used for years. Try getting this junk wet and a finger could easy go right through it. The same warning goes for buying Playhut in the stores. Make sure you open it and SEE what it is made out of before you buy it. Playhut should be ashamed of what they are doing to their reputation. Cutting corners to add to their profits is losing customers who didn't mind paying more for quality but they refuse to pay more for trash! ... Read more

Beautiful
My daughter loves this toy which she received for her 3rd birthday.She loves the unicorn with it's sparkly hair and the beautiful carraige.All the reins don't reach all teh way to Barbie's hands she doesn't seem to mind - she uses the carriage with all her favourite things - Barbie, Kelly dolls and even Little People get a ride around in the carriage.

I am constantly having to fix the carriage back onto the harness of the saddle but it's a minor thing and doesn't stop my daughter having loads of fun with it.

I ABSOLUTLYLOVE IT!
Iam 11 years old and I got the Lila Unicorn and Carriage for christmas, from my mom. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT! I think it is a great toy. I have many hours of fun playing with it. I also recevied the swan lake barbie, and the swan lake ken doll which makes it even more fun. The only complaints I have is the harness doesn't stay on very well. Also the reins are not long enough for barbie, or ken to sit all the way back and drive. But other than that I absolutly love this toy! I think the horse, and carriage itself are very beautiful. I love Lila's sparkly hair. Thanks for making a great toy, and a beautiful fun line of Swan Lake Barbie toys. Thanks again!

Cute, but impossible
Who in the world designed this product?The flaws are countless, and unnecessary.I recommended this to my daughter's grandparents for x-mas since my daughter is "Barbie-crazy" and loves anything related to Swan Lake.It is a very cute toy and looks like lots of fun, but is very difficult to play with, even for adults.The unicorn doesn't stand up due to two of the legs being bent.The harness doesn't stay attached to the saddle and continually falls off (I may put a little velcro on it to hold it on place). The reins are too short for a doll to hold if sitting back in the carriage. The horseshoes don't stay on, and are really not needed.with all of these problems, it is very hard to play with and frustrating for my daughter, and any adult who is trying to help her.This toy cannot be used as intended.All of this being said, the parts themselves seem to be well made and the carriage rolls great, if only it could be pushed/pulled by the unicorn w/out everything falling off and unicorn tipping over.I think it is a very cute idea, but needs more work.Since my daughter loves Barbie so much, we will find a way for her to play w/this toy. I would not recommend this toy to any non-Barbie fan unless these flaws are corrected.As we tried to get things straight on x-mas day w/this toy, we couldn't help but wonder just how many other little girls (and parents) were spending thier x-mas fighting w/this unicorn. ... Extremely dissatisfied
I recently purchased the "Shampoochie" toy. This is one of the worst toys on the market. Not only is this toy messy and loud but it is frusturating to children. The dog barely fits in the tub, the shower stream is too wide and sprays over the tub no matter how carefully it is aimed, when the dog is in the tub the water sprays off of the dog and goes everywhere. The pumping action required for water and bubbles causes the tub to tip and spill, the slippers do not stay on the dog for more than a few seconds and the robe is nearly impossible to get on when the dog is dry let alone wet and the amount of "foam solution" given is only enough to fill the reservoir once. This is unacceptable. Especially for a toy that costs nearly $30.00. I sincerely hope toy designers will give better thought in the future.

Cute!!
Both my girls, ages 4 and 7 recieved these as gifts from grandma.They can play for hours, needless to say we ran out of shampoo very quickly.I just put cheap strawberry shampoo into their bottles with water, it works great and smells great too.My 4 year old has no problem understanding and using this toy, but then she has an older sister to show her how to do things.This is a favorite at our house; it's a great toy for the water loving child.

Shampoochie cute but needs improvement
My 3 year old daughter got this for Christmas.It's VERY cute, but like another viewer said it's a little difficult to use.It does not come with enough soap.To operate correctly it needs a TON of soap poured in the special compartment.The bottle it comes with is really only enought for two shampoos.I bought a bottle of the Johnson & Johnson's foaming kids hand wash, and it actually performs better with that than the soap it came with.Also the dog takes forever to dry and the slippers don't fit. ... Great as a Grownups' Makeup Case too!
I am not ashamed to say i still play with my dolls at 29 :o)
My husband got me this as part of Christmas. I am using it when I travel for makeup, jewelry, toiletries, and hair stuff. I love this! So cute and shows your passion for fashion dolls!
The little Velcro zip top pouch which sticks to the case inside under the mirror is perfect for the jewelry and hair clips!
This case is easy to pack, use, and carry, and fits very nicely inside a regular suitcase for your clothes. My only (very minor) complaint is that it's hard to keep the case open wide, ex. if you need to use the mirror to apply your makeup on a countertop height.

My 5 year old received this case for her birthday.She has taken it everywhere with her for the last few months.She keeps all her "collections" in it.She really loves it and I think it has helped her get a little more organized...so I love it too.

Better experience than others. Better price available!
We got this CD player for our 4 year old for Christmas and after 2 weeks I am still impressed. Reading the other reviews might make you think twice about purchasing this, but I will give you my experience.
I was able to get this brand new for $19.99 by looking around at another store with Big Lots of merchandise at discount prices so do shop around. Battery life is fine as long as you remember to turn it off after the CD is done. I find that the microphone works very well and while it does require you to speak into it from close range it does not sound muffled. We have had several kids play with it and all love it. Atthe price we paid it was worth the chance and I have not yet decided whether to get the AC power adapter. The one drawback is that it is CD only and does not have a radio. Overall a nice toy for a nice price that we hope will provide quite a bit of pleasure to our Barbie crazy 4 year old.

what do you expect?
I cannot believe how many people wrote reviews, saying how terrible the quality of this product was.What do you expect?Some high-tech karaoke machine, that works wonderfully...from Mattel?I don't understand...if you want a great working one buy one at Radio Shack~!If you want just a little cute one for a baby, buy this!No biggy!

Never Worked
We bought this for my daughter for Christmas and even bought the adpater so that she could use is right away.What we didn't plan on was that the CD player didn't work....not once!!We used the adapter and even the batteries and nothing.The karyoke part worked but was very muffled.We returned it and purchased a different one.What a waste of time and money! ... This CAMERA destroyed my TV
In just 1 afternoon of use, this camera caused my 27 inch TV to have permanent damage to the picture tube.There is now a giant discolored ring across the entire screen. No kids toy should be able to burn a giant discolored ring into a television picture tube!Avoid this at all costs or face trashing your TV! And, there wasn't anything in the instructions that stated that anything like this could happen.

The best gift
My child loves this soooooooooooooooo much.She got it for her birthday.And she is a skateboarder and now she can film her friends and her doing tricks.She does not care its Barbie.Her cousin Lindsey can flim Ashley skateboarding and they have a band called The idiots.Now she can flim them singing.They all loved it and wanted to know where I got it.Itold they to go to Walmart and look.My daughter said she love it.So you should buy this it will chang there world.Also if you want you could buy a spiderman one if you have a son.

Very disappointing
My step-son bought this for my daughter last year (she was five).She was so excited she couldn't wait to get it out of the box, and when I looked at all the activities I thought "wow, this is both a really great intro to a computer and a fun learning toy for her."She played with it for exactly one hour and then put it down and told me she had a headache.Since then she has tried on and off to use it, but she only gets frustrated.Reason:The screen is very tiny and the lighting of the screen is very dull which makes the child have to squint to see it.She was so disappointed she was practically in tears.I think in the year she's had it she's played with it a handful of times and always tells me she can't see it, and she gets very frustrated because the games are very interesting to her and she would really love to play them if only she could stare at the screen for longer than an hour at a time.

Come on, Mattel, I expect better than that both from you and the Barbie line.Barbie products are typically better made and more expensive than other toys, and parents buy them because their daughters are crazy for Barbie--as I was when I was a child.I don't mind being "locked-in" to buy a product line that is pricy if my daughter loves it and will use it, but this was a terrible waste of my step-son's money.With all the technology of today, and considering the size of this toy, couldn't you find some way to make the screen bigger so kids could enjoy it?

The only one who gets any use out of it is my 3 year old son who gets a kick out of Barbie's voice when he presses the buttons, but has no interest in the screen--and that's the only reason I haven't thrown it out yet.That's just sad for a Barbie product.

couldn't return it fast enough
Yuck. We didn't like it at all. We got it for our 4 1/2 year old. It's cute looking before you turn it on but that's all it's got going for it, in my opinion. The sound is awful. The screen is hard to see. And the games are way too complicated and confusing for the age it's recommended for. The child definitely needs to be able to read to use it. It was such a poor toy that we decided to just return it.

Great learning fun!
I purchased this for a 7 year old girl because she was really having problems with math.This laptop has lots of addition and subtraction with pictures for kids.This is a great product and really helps kids learn while having fun.Very durable. ... Read more

This colossal Swan Lake dollhouse is designed to enchant its residents as much as any magic spell. Both its size and detail bring the fabled fairy tale to life for Barbie and her pretend-play fans. Half a dozen furnished rooms are exposed when the castle, which measures 52 by 32 inches from floor to spire, is opened wide. Inside are elegant doll-sized beds, tables, and chairs as well as a multitude of removable accessories, even a bathtub. All is marked with royal flourishes or monogrammed with a regal B. Even closed, at 25 by 32 inches, the house is charming--and large. Special features include a spire that lights up and plays music, an elevator staircase that can hold a doll and be cranked manually, and a set of "bluebird" keys that open the front door and a number of secret chambers and hiding places. Poor Quality
I bought this toy for my daughter as a Christmas gift.Although she does love playing with it, the toy itself is cheaply made and not worth the price tag.The caslte is made of thin plastic and parts do not fit together tightly.Her Fisher Price dollhouses are far more sturdy and a better value.Also, the Swan Lake castle was extremely time consuming to put together (lots of stickers).I find this poor quality to be reflected in most Barbie related toys.

Excellent - but beware of little pieces
My daughter loved this one -- better yet,I LOVED IT! As with any Barbie stuff, it takes awhile to put together, the stickers, the pieces etc. So, put this together when your child is not around, or it will be double the work! But when it is finished and done, you can't help but play with it yourself. It is so beautiful and very magical, and provides many hours of play and imagination time.
BUT - Keep track of all the little pieces (the silverware, dishes plates, etc) itis so easy for them to get lost - the magical staricase/elevator is pleasant, but wasn't a selling point to us. Enjoy this one ...I think a five year and up age imagination is perfect. Any younger, go with the Princess Castle. We got both and my five year old prefers the Barbie Magical Castle.

I don't have this beetle, but..................
I have a pink volkswagen Barbie beetle that i got for Christmas like 3 years ago and yeah i'm pleased.....It is cute and portable but the lil' windows have fallen off, but that cause me and my friends were like crashing it down the stairs!! It is a good toy and there are many fun memories to it...Thanx for reading! By the way i'm 12!

No Steering
The remote control is a cell phone looking thing with lots of buttons.When I bought the toy, I thought it was odd that you'd steer with buttions instead of a wheel. When I got the toy home and opened it, I realized that only two buttons on the phone were pushable... forwards and reverse.When it goes in reverse, it turns, but only one way.You can't steer this car!Just forward, and a reverse turn.Very dissapointing.It's also very loud.

Megopolis
I grabbed this toy at Target when I saw that it cost just about as much as any other Barbie car, but this one was remote- controlled.We bought this for our 6 year old daughter for Christmas in lieu of yet another Barbie horse-drawn carriage.This is a whole lot more durable than any carriage!My daughter has no problem remembering to turn off the car with the switch on the bottom.It is bulky, and it takes up its own space on a shelf, rather than in a toy box.As far as the turn feature, it does not have a right or left control, but by backing up and going forward in small steps, you can get the car to turn.This is a challenge for my daughter, yet one she can handle.Because of its size, I think this is a better outdoor or garage toy, in which the child has plenty of space to run it around. In retrospect, my daughter would have equallly loved the Barbie VW beetle- non-remote-controlled version with the key that opens the trunk, but it actually would have cost us more than this one. ...
