This toy is fun if you play it with my dad it is also very durable.I think that starting at age six will love playing this
    board game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Truly Life's Greatest Reward
I must admit, I really like to see classic board games come back to every family possible. It is unfortunate a lot of families don't have really the time to share the simple things like board games anymore. There are some of them that are just plain classics. The game Of Life Is no acception. The game is one those simple delights that every family should really play. The game plays quite well, with the object of going through life, and trying to retire with the most money possible. I really loved this game when I was much younger, and for family fun for all, this should be well worth the purchase.

    Fun & Enjoyment: B ( C if you're playing alone )

2-0 out of 5 stars Not your father's game of life!
I played this game countless times as a teenager in the 70's.My two sons (8 & 5) wanted it and I thought it would be a blast from the past. While some of the changes in the game play itself are fine, I couldn't get over the poor quality of the game board itself. The spinner I grew up with was so durable. The new one sucks. It's virtually impossible to spin it without the whole wheel falling off. That in itself was very disappointing - and really caused a lot of frustration! Why cut cornes?Especially when many of the people buying this game, probably played it as a kid!? ... Editorial Review

Poor Mr. Boddy has been shockingly murdered in his own mansion. To win this game, you must become a roving detective, sniffing out the answers to the classic mystery questions: Who among Mr. Boddy's guests committed the murder? What was the murder weapon? (Lead pipe? Wrench? Candlestick?) Where did the murder happen? (Library? Conservatory?) Because the answers change each time, the game is constantly challenging. A gameboard map of the mansion, detective notepad, deck of cards, one die, wandering playing pieces, and a healthy dose of intuition will help players be the first to figure out the answers. This edition of Clue is a departure from the old faces and mansion rooms that were beginning to look dated after all these years. Sultry Miss Scarlett looks like Lesley Ann Warren from the movie Clue. Mr. Green looks convincingly sinister, Mrs. Peacock snobbish and potentially cruel. Colonel Mustard is still Pompous, Professor Plum still clueless. Mrs. White, the grandmotherly maid, is downright spooky. --Gail Hudson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Still a favorite after all these years...
While spring cleaning this week, I stumbled upon an old classic: Clue. Intrigued, I dusted it off and challenged my husband to an enticing game of "whodunit." I was pleased to find that the game is still just as much fun as it was when I played it as a kid.

Most people are familiar with the basic premise of the game: Mr. Boddy, a millionaire, is found murdered in his home. Six people were in his mansion at the time of the murder: Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. White, and Mr. Green. It is up to the game players to pinpoint who killed Mr. Boddy, what weapon he or she used, and what room the crime took place in.

The game comes with a game board, six playing pieces, and a deck of cards-each with a suspect, a room, and a weapon. At the beginning of the game, one card from each category is taken from the deck and placed in a secret envelope. This envelope now contains the solution to the crime. The rest of the cards are dealt to the players. The players, using process of elimination, travel to different rooms of the mansion and suggest different scenarios in attempts to solve the crime. The first player to figure out which three cards are in the secret envelope wins.

Clue, like so many classic Parker Brothers games (Monopoly, for instance) definitely stands up to the test of time. The game is every bit as strategic, fast-paced, competitive, and fun as it was when it first hit the market. There's really nothing quite as satisfying as figuring out the mystery ("Miss Scarlet in the Conservatory with the Lead Pipe!") just a few seconds faster than your opponents. Clue is great fun, and perfect for a night in with the family.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Game Clue
The game Clue is a detective game that entertains you and your friends by seeing who is first to solve the murder mystery. I usually play this game with my family and friends because it is a game for the entire family and we enjoy it. This is my personal favorite board game because it is simple and it perks you up if you are having a gloomy day.
This game has some some positive things about it and some negative things about it. One poitive thing is that there are very few directions. Another is that it gets your mind thinking by using your knowledge or "Clues" that you have discovered and try to guess the person who committed the murder, where it happened, and with what weapon they did it with. But along with positive comments, there are also negative ones too. For example, it takes a long time to set the game up because you have to sort the cards, hand the out to each player, and without looking take three cards and put them into the confidential envelope.
I have played this many times and I am only 11 years old. I would rate this game 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars The classic whodunit game
Known in Britain as Cluedo but in America as Clue, this classic game is based on a simple idea but your enjoyment of it (or lack thereof) will depend to some extent on what sort of brain you have. The game is basically a logic puzzle so it is not a game of luck (though there is a little luck involved) so the most skilful player will win most of the time.

With six possible murderers, six possible weapons and nine possible locations, there are 314 possible solutions to the puzzle. By a process of elimination, each player tries to work out the combination. Each player is dealt some cards containing names of people, weapons and locations, so is able to eliminate some possibilities immediately.

The main skill lies is in knowing what is the best combination to guess when it is your turn to guess, and understanding the implications of your (and other people's) previous guesses. When you guess a combination, you announce it aloud for everybody to hear. Going round in a circle, your opponents have to either say they haven't got any of those three or they show you a card. Nobody else sees this card but they know that this person has one of the three you guessed. Of course, that person may have more than one of the three but as only one card need be shown, you don't know that. If none of your opponents is able to show you a card, then either you have guessed correctly or you've got one of the cards in your own hand. In the latter case, it seems like a wasted guess although there are occasions when bluffing might be useful. In any case, those players who can make most use of clues offered by all guesses, not just their own, have the best chance of winning.

Yes, this game can be a lot of fun, but you need a brain suited to solving logic puzzles to really enjoy it. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This classic game of luck, strategy, and determination is easy to grasp for children as young as 6 years old, yet it's fun for adults and older siblings too. By drawing cards, players move their game pieces around the board, hoping to eventually accumulate all their pieces at the final destination--home sweet home. Sorry is known as the game of "sweet revenge," since players can send each other's pawns back to the starting line, thus forcing one another to lose ground and begin all over again. This kind of frustration may be hard for children under age 8 to handle. In fact, young ones typically crumble into tears of outrage when their pawns are cavalierly sent back. The only recourse is to teach children how to plot their own revenge, which makes them feel as powerful as superheroes. ... Read more

I've played this game since I was a teeny kid and it's still a ton of fun.
As with most games, there are small pieces involved that very well may end up someplace where they're not supposed to, plus you can't really afford to lose any of the pieces. Plastic bag 'em!

My kids love this game. They sit down together and play this game all of the time. The neighbor kids come over to our house because they love to play board games and SORRY is the one they choose the most.We do not have video games at our house, and this was considered a drawback to the neighbor kids until my kids introduced them to board games. Now they come over all of the time just to play board games.I say hide the video games and let the kids interact with each other playing board games.

Sorry is top game in our house.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sorry!
This game was fun the first and second time you play it but when you figure out that the game is pretty much based on luck and no strategy you'll think twice when you want to play this a third time. Although this is still a good game for the family. It features a detailed bored with a deck of cards that have number 1-12 and selected cards that say SORRY! this means you switch places with another player. All in all I would recomend this game to anyone who loves a game of luck.

Need an icebreaker? Want to work out some aggression without shin guards and helmets? Popomatic Trouble, Milton Bradley's classic race-and-chase game, is guaranteed to bring out your competitive side. Try to outstrip your opponents as you race your pawns around the colorful plastic board to safety. Should you have the good fortune to land on a space occupied by another player, you can send him reeling back to start, where he must wait for a six to pop up (literally) on the capricious dice bubble in the center of the board. Once liberated, your foe is free to reciprocate--now you're in Trouble.

The crystal ball on which the fates of all rest, a.k.a. the Popomatic Dice Bubble, is the genius behind this game, and is one reason it has become a classic. Encased in its bubble, the die never goes flying, rolls off the table, or gets lost. Simple to learn and exciting to play, Popomatic Trouble is a game that never loses its thrill. 4-0 out of 5 stars Trouble - Popomatic - Good Family Fun
Trouble is a classic game - Milton Bradley brings us the classic board game that is fun for the whole family to play.
Four players can play this, my only concern is the popper, I wonder how long it will last, the metal popper is a little flimsy and may break over extended use - we'll see. You can always use some dice as a backup.Game is fun for the family to play.

I purchased this along with Connect Four, good games next to Checkers and Chess.

3-0 out of 5 stars They sure do make them like they used to.......
My (6 year old) daughter received this classic for Christmas and we played the game that evening. Suffice it to say, the instuctions are the same and the fun of the game is the same as when I received it as a gift MANY years ago, however the durability has gone down hill big time. I cannot believe how cheap it is now, from the cheesy cardboard used with the graphics under the board, to the cheaper feeling plastic used for the pegs. The popomatic dice keeper even feels cheap and 1/2 the time my daughter pops it, it remains on the same number on the dice. Aren't there any companies out there that take pride in their products anymore? It seems not. I can't wait to open the Connect Four game - hopefully it won't fall apart before we play it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Could be made a lot better...
I'm a 27 year old mother of 3.I remember loving this game when I was a kid. I was so dissapointed when I opened this game. I couldn't believe how cheesey it is.You can barely 'POP' the dice. And when my kids POP the bubble all the game pieces fly around. Plus the bottom of the game has a pop in piece of cardboard.Shouldn't the bottom be covered with hard plastic??

I also wish there was something to hold all the pieces because my kids (like many others) abuse the box and all of the pieces fall out and get lost.
****Can't the board game makers start making harder cases or Tins so we all don't have a stack of smashed boxes and missing pieces.

The game itself is fun...but I ended up throwing it away because pieces got lost way to fast. ... Read more

Surely countless medical careers have been launched because of this humorous game. The Operation game board features Sam the patient, lying atop a red plastic "operating table" with 12 body cavities exposed. Players perform highly skilled procedures with a pair of tweezers such as removing a broken heart or butterflies in the stomach. This kind of surgery requires a steady hand! Doctors must remove the offending body part without touching the metal lining of the cavity. Touch the metal edge, and you'll set off the buzzer and make Sam's nose light up. Then the designated Specialist steps in--for double the fee! If you're playing solo, try performing all 12 operations without getting zapped. Two AA batteries are required. 1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK
I played this game as a kid and loved it. But now this thing is made so cheap, the top paper isn't even glued down and we've had some parts get stuck under it, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to pick up these pieces, even if you are steady and all that, you can't get the pieces out because they are real slippery and so are the tweezers. There is nothing to grip the pieces, they are both totally smooth. This game sucks!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Operation - made by Milton Bradley
Another game that I find it amazing that is made available in this hi-tech age we live in.As a kid,I thought this game was okay.Purpose is to remove these tiny plastic parts from the operating board.Comes with twelve parts that's to be 'professionally' removed with a pair of tweezers.Don't lose the parts and this game should last awhile.Anyone else remember the TV ad for this game way back when as the girl in pigtails reads off the instuctions on the card,"Take out wrenched ankle..."?That commercial may've done more damage than Milton Bradley knows.Requires two size AA batteries.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not like it used to be
I remember playing this game when I was a kid. I perchased it for my daughter thinking that she would have fun. Didn't happen!

    Editorial Review

Battleship captains plot their strategies, send out torpedoes, and as the last ship (often the smallest, two-peg patrol boat) hides in an unsuspected corner, anticipation mounts. Like many classic games, Battleship walks a fine line between strategy and luck. The goal is to conceal the location of your ships while finding and destroying your enemies' fighters. The playing arena is a notebook-size plastic board updated for '90s sensibilities: the "floor" of the board is printed with waves and the exterior vaguely resembles a laptop. The design mimics the view a submarine captain would have, complete with a glimmer of radar waves. The game is perfect entertainment to share: simple enough for children, yet gratifying enough for adults to enjoy. One design decision keeps this edition from being truly stellar: the playing boards don't lock securely, allowing the small pegs to fall out and spill from the sides if jostled. --Jennifer Buckendorff ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A great little logic test.
This game is a classic and it really gets kids thinking about plotting the possibles and probables. They don't even realise it's educational as it's such fun. The design makes it a perfect travel game. A great one to get out when the chorus of "are we there yet?", is driving you crazy and playing "eye spy" is making everyone loose the will to live rapidly!
I even get away with playing my knid of music without the children moaning or noticing!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun...
This game is pretty fun, you don't have to think too much and the instructions are easy enough as well. I do agree with the one reviewer who saaid that the pegs can be horrible if scattered everywhere. What we do is keep them in seperate plastic bags, and unwrap them before the game starts. It's a little bit more time-consuming, but that way it keeps them from winding up in a kid or pet's mouth.

5-0 out of 5 stars You've Sunk My Battleship!
I just bought this game, because I remembered how much fun I had playing it when I was younger. This is one of those games that never gets old, and anyone from a child, to an adult can have fun playing it.

You each have a console, with 2 grids: your ocean grid where YOUR ships are, and the striking grid. The object of the game is to shout out coordinates to try and sink your opponent's ships.By marking them in the grid above, you then strategize where your opponent has placed his/her ships. You either have a "hit", or "miss".Play continues until you have sunk all of the ships on the other player's console.

There are many ways you can play this game. You can even make a few rules up if you like. There are also different forms of play in the instructions, inside the box.

One example of play that I like: if you sink your opponent's Battleship, the game is automatically over, and you've won.

All in all, this game is alot of fun.The consoles are pretty durable, and there are spots for you to store the ships, and the hit/miss pegs.As far as educational value, I think it would help children to work with grids, and strategizing. You have to be aware of what size ships you are dealing with and where they will fit on the grid (in the NON-hit spaces that remain on your opponent's grid).

I prefer this version to the electronic version. There are no sound effects and no noise, which I think makes it easier and less hassle.

If by chance you haven't played this game, buy it today! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars the game of stratego
i think this game fills you with interest. Using strategy this game is like a army game.you have players and the wapons you need. Bombs, a spy are the traps youyou need to destroy the best player. This gameis great and the best! also, the best part is the STRATEGY.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great find
I play this game with my almost 6 year old. I know he is a little young but he has figured out which piece is higher, the bombs, how and who can move, and basically the concept of capturing the flag.although his is a bit young to fully stratagize he is able to think about it which I believe is very educational.Although he is not able to fully stratagize we still have fun getting to the point where one of our flags are captured. And even if this happens he wants to keep playing. This game is great for now and will be even better as he gets older and can think on a more mature level.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!
Combine the simplicity of checkers with the suspense of clue and the moves of chess, and you have Stratego.
This is an awesome game, and I am normaly not a board game finatic.
The object is to capture an enemy's flag.
You have different ranking pieces (10 beats a 9 etc. only a spy beats the 10)
Which you attack the enemy pieces with.
Have a good setup, or just good strategy, and you might get past your opponent's bombs and avoid their powerful pieces ( Namely the 10 9 and two eights)
And you might just capture the enemy flag.
This game is incredibly easy to learn, but hard to master.
Overall, it is one of the best games I have ever played. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Othello is a good logic game
This is a good logic game that requires stratagy and thinking. Very fun game for two people. Recommend it for the logic type of people.

5-0 out of 5 stars Strategy game for two with simple rules
Sometimes known as Reversi, Othello is a great game in itself but (like draughts) is also a useful starting point for children too young to master the complexities of chess. The game can appeal to people of all ages who enjoy strategy games including those who feel intimidated by chess. Meanwhile, chess players who have difficulty finding other chess players of comparable ability can enjoy playing Othello - it is much easier to find suitable opponents for this game.

The rules are simple. The playing area is a squared board. Each square is a space for a plastic disk, which is white on one side and black on the other. To begin with, the four central squares are occupied with two disks showing white and two showing black. Each player has half of the remaining disks, taking turns to place a disk on an unoccupied square with their own color showing, adjacent to a disk showing the opponent's color and in a direct line with one showing the player's own color. The idea is to place the disk in such a way as to allow the player to turn over disks showing the opponent's color to their own color - as many as possible within the rules - while making the opponent's task as difficult as possible. As the game progresses, a player may be able to place a disk next to several showing the opponent's color, opening up lines in different directions and turning a lot of disks over.

People soon learn that being able to place disks in the four corners is often the key to winning the game. If you can get at least three of the four corners showing your color, you will almost certainly win (but not always). So you have to be careful to avoid placing disks in the squares adjacent to the corners, as this gives your opponent a potential opening (even though it may not be immediate).

While six and seven year old children can easily learn the rules, the game is sufficiently interesting (if you like strategy games) that it can entertain people of all ages.

Othello has one significant advantage over chess and draughts - it is not unusual for one player to build up a commanding position only to lose it quickly. In chess and draughts, it is very rare for a player to lose from a commanding position.

4-0 out of 5 stars Extra stars please!
This game is great, it is easy tolearn, and it teaches strategy. Mom and Dad can play with son or daughter, it's worth the 15.00. My parents shared this game with me, and now I can share it with my kids. 5 star rating! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Rook is a classic game of gin/rummy with originality
Hearts and spades are great games to play. The unfortunate aspect of them is that there are no rules for playing with more or less than four players.Rook can be played with 2-6 people which makes the chances for playing much greater.A highly educational game, it teaches children the aspect of strategy and tactical planning. These skills are not usually taught in schools and are a great way to learn them while having "fun" in the loose sense.Differing amount of players exposes new elements of the game with differing instruction.5 Star Game.

We have been playing Rook for several generations, too.We have such a large family andwe all love it so well, that we had to invent a more deluxe game where more people could play.We came up with a game where we can play with 7 people.Even that wasn't enough though, so now we play high-low table. We get hours of enjoyment out of this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic Card Game.
Created in 1906 as an alternative "card" game for those who believed that regular cards were sinful and of the devil, Rook is a game that people of all ages will enjoy playing. My family has played Rook since I was a very young child and I've never gotten tired of playing the game. I've enjoyed playing the game with my grandparents, aunts, and uncles as well as college students. 5-0 out of 5 stars Wracked my brain to recall name of wonderful pastime!
In 1962 my brother and his wife played this game with my husband and me.We had more time than money, as young couples often do, so really enjoyed the fun this wonderful game afforded.Although I tried to recall it's name and have been wondering about it since last month, suddenly it popped into my head.Voila!I'll buy 2, one for me and one for my brother, to introduce to our grandchildren!

2-0 out of 5 stars Nothing
Mille Bornes is a fun game.Great for kids and adults. But there's absolutely nothing special about this special "collectors edition". You're paying $15 for a deck of cards and a flimsy plastic tray.[...]

5-0 out of 5 stars A Genuine Family Game
Actually first released by Parker Brothers as "Touring" in the 1920s it went through several editions until it was released in 1960 in the French Mille Bornes version. I don't know if it was actually ever played in France, but it's been around in the US for close to 100 years.
A game where children can actually compete with adults on an equal footing - and they can play it on their own. I still enjoy it fifty years after my first game.

    Don't Spill the Beans

    Editorial Review

After a grownup snaps this smiling red plastic bean pot together, it stands 5 inches tall. The trickis for two to four young children to drop beans onto the pot's lid, one by one, without spilling them. Themore beans there are, the more care they must take. If--well, actually, when--they upset the balanceof the pot, they spill the beans. And naturally everyone squeals and has a good time. The first person to getrid of all their beans is the winner. This is a fun game for young children, and no reading is required toplay, but be sure to keep those beans out of reach of kids who are still apt to put things other than real foodin their mouths. --Rebecca Hughes ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Great concept, but it tips easily
I purchased this for my home daycare to play with.We opened it today and tried it out for awhile.I had 2 & 3yr olds and 9 yr olds playing with it.All of the kids had fun but the beans seemed to spill very easily, making for a fast game.I think the concept is great and the kids were quick to learn where to put the beans to make it lean back the other way.But I wish it took longer to spill so they'd have more of a chance to stack up those beans and problem solve.I'm hoping with time they'll get better at it so the fun level increases.

We've only had it a day so I can't really rate the durability.I don't think it'll take a beating, but if we're careful it should last a long time.

    4-0 out of 5 stars FUn with a 2 1/2 year old
My son loves this game and asks to play it every day. It is great because we practice counting and taking count. The pot is light and does tip over pretty easily but it is fun to just start over and practice more counting.

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't get enough of this game.
I remember this game from when I was a child. I recently bought this game for my son who just turned four.He absolutely loves it and wants to play it all the time.It does get a little boring after a while for an adult because you have to keep going until someone runs out of beans. Also, I read the other reviews and our game doesn't have a problem tipping over with just a couple of beans.I hope everyone else enjoys this game as much as my son. ... Build a better mousetrap? We dare you. Naturally, the object is to trap mice in the mousetrap, while avoiding getting trapped. By rolling the die, you proceed around the game board, collecting cheese pieces and building a mousetrap bit by bit. Once complete, you set the wheels in motion, as it were, to try to capture the opposition's mice. But this is no ordinary trap. With this contraption you start by turning the crank, that rotates the gears, that push the lever, that moves the shoe, that kicks the bucket, that sends the ball down the stairs and into the gutter, that leads to the rod that releases a second ball, that falls through the bathtub and onto the springboard, that catapults the diver into the washtub, that causes the cage to fall and--whew!--hopefully, capture a mouse. The last "mouse" left uncaptured wins --Alison Golder ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mouse Trap - made by Milton Bradley
In this hi-tech age,I'm amazed a game like Mouse Trap is even made anymore.Don't get me wrong,I liked this game as a kid but that was over thirty years ago.I recently picked this game up and I found out the hard way that most kids over the age of,say eight probably wouldn't have much interest in it.The recommended age is over three. So,that would narrow it down to kids between 3 to 7.If you're an adult with some time on your hands, you could possibly find this game somewhat entertaining for maybe twenty minutes before wanting to find something else to do.Only downside is that too many of the required pieces can easily end up lost or broken.Overall,it's an okay game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beats computer games any day!
I had this game when I was young and it has been around for years now. You could be forgiven for dismissing the game as a silly bit of fun but a large part of the point of this is setting up the game. This requires kids to test their dexterity, physical and mental, as well as consider some early notions of scientifc principles; logic, physics, probability etc.
I think it's fab for developing young brains while the have lot's of fun and barely realise you are taxing their grey cells!

    5-0 out of 5 stars It's a blast!
Any kids that I've played this with have never actually played the game...they just love putting the contraption together! There is nothing more rewarding than hearing this excited little laugh-scream when the mouse is captured.

Even adults will be challenged by attempting to fit all 25 pieces into place before the 60-second alarm sounds. These complex geometric shapes need to be matched with the appropriate hole before the whole tray pops up and sends them flying in an explosion of yellow plastic. Any number of kids can take turns trying to beat the clock, and then to beat each other's best times. For younger children who are still learning to recognize shapes, the game can be played without the time pressure. Kids will soon develop speed and accuracy so much they'll want to take on Mom and Dad. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

Does he have a pair--or is he faking? Yes! No? What should I do?! Be right, be fast--but don't be last, or you'll end up the loser in Hands Down, Hasbro's "game of slap-happy fun." It's the perfect choice for energetic, competitive 6-to-12-year-olds who love to tease. There's not a lot of strategy involved here--it's something like an energized version of "Go Fish": players draw and combine cards to make a pair, and then--wham!--it's all hands down on the Slam-O-Matic unit (a groovy plastic playing surface sporting four spring-loaded "hands"). Last one down forfeits a card! Hands Down is a hilarious icebreaker as well as a fistful of fun. No batteries necessary. Hands Down can be played by three or four players.--Julie Ubben ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars more fun than I thought - couldn't wait to play again!
A friend brought this to our house to play with my daughter and her daughter.I'm not much of a game person so I sat out the first round while the three of them played - and laughed a lot! Then they drafted me into the second round - it was so much fun I couldn't wait to play again.

It's primarily a game of luck, but you do have to be quick on the "hands down".You don't need any skill, and it's not what I would call an educational game, but for a VERY fun game with friends or family, it's a sure winner!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple Yet Exciting
I got this for my 7 year old nephew's birthday, and he loves it. I only vaguely remember the old classic version, so I cannot make a comparison. But standing on its own, the game is simple to play, yet involves stragey, and has plenty of excitement. My nephew is also improving his counting skills. And the game is only $10! Great for kids, good for adults if they don't compare it to the orginal version.

5-0 out of 5 stars we enjoyed this game but we never played original version
I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before I bought this board game as a present for my son.I would have worried about it being "cheesy" and "not worth the money."

We have never played any other version of this game so I guess we don't know what we are missing from the original.

I thought the game was simple to learn but still had plenty of excitement as it was hard to tell who would win up until the last moment. The bright colored animals and game board make this game visually appealing and I especially appreciated the educational information enclosed about the animals used for pawns in the game.

If you are looking for a game that is fun to play with your kids this is an excellent choice. If you are looking for the original classic for adult play it seems like you would not be happy with this version of the game.

Anyone who's ever done it knows the indescribable feeling--getting Yahtzee in one roll! Of course, this five-of-a-kind phenomenon only happens once in a blue moon. The rest of the time, players must be content with a three-roll full house, large or small straight, or any other combination of five dice. In this seductive game of luck and strategy, players have three tries each turn to roll dice in hopes of obtaining the elusive Yahtzee--or racking up points in one of the 12 other scoring categories. For a real challenge, go for a bonus Yahtzee--two or more in one game! This parlor classic has captivated and vexed players, young and old, since 1956. Game includes five dice, dice cup, 10 bonus chips, score pad, and instructions (English and Spanish). For one or more players. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

I played Yahtzee as a kid with my Dad and had forgotten how much fun it was. While looking for some non-electronic games to play with my kids, I stumbled across Yahtzee and instantly remembered the good times.Introducing the game to the family tonight, I was hoping that they would enjoy it as much as I had years ago. They did not dissapoint me and after playing several games they all complimented me on the choice.Another reviewer called Yahtzee "quietly educational", and I completely agree with that term.My oldest, who since his school started letting him use a calculator in algebra and geometry has lost the ability to do math in his head, suddenly rediscovered his math skills when his score was on the line.

The only thing Milton Bradley did wrong with this game was being cheap on the size of the pad of score sheets they include.Other than that, this is a classic game that has not lost anything over the years.Turn off the television or computer and play this game with people you love.

Children learn about taking turns and matchmaking in this game as they try to make pairs of elated elephants, panting puppies, smiling suns, and other familiar objects. The 72 (cardboard) cards have lively, colorful drawings that make them easy to remember and a tray for storing them. Played alone, Original Memory is a quiet activity for developing concentration and memory. With more players, it's even more of a memory challenge to remember where the cards are that have already been turned over. And you have to wait your turn, which is sometimes harder than anything. 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun game, even young children can play
The cardboard pieces are hard enough that it takes a lot of teething on them to ruin them. THey do not bend easily. My only complaint about the pieces is they are a bit small. The small size makes it a bit difficult for small hands to manipulate them at times.

THere are many small pieces so if you loose one or two, you just take the match out of the pile and toss it away too. The game will be just as fun and no one will be the wiser.

In fact, when we play with our younger children, we often times just use half of the pieces.

THe game is the traditional memory game that almost everyone has played at one point in their life. It develops eye and hand coordination, following rules, taking turns, memory skills, picture skills and more.

    Well worth the money.
    Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Concentration: the older years.
I think concentration is a very wonderful game, because I love Rebus puzzle.I never watched the old version of concentration,
I only remember watching ''Classic Concentration'' which Alex
Trebek hosted on NBC 1n 1987-1991, and the show was a lot of fun and I think I became inspired by the show, so that's why I recommend that you buy this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Try to Find this on CD-ROM
This game requires way too much setup. It is difficult to take out the number card without accidentally pulling out the prize card underneath it. The only fun part about Concentration is, of course, trying to figure out the secret phrase. This would be a perfect computer game for the memory part of the game. I know I've seen in on a 512k version 10+ years ago, but I haven't seen a new computer version. I couldn't imagine an 8 year old having the patience to setup this game and play the memory part, but then again maybe an 8 year old has an hour to waste on setup whereas I do not.

4-0 out of 5 stars Its good for beginners, but NOT FOR SPEED-CUBING!!!
I think this specific Rubik's Cube is good, but I don't reccommend it for speed-cubing. Sometimes the faces are hard to turn, and the stickers aren't of best quality, but it is good for beginners. I have one of these, but when I become good at cubing I will buy a better-quality one that is made for speed. Also, do not buy the imitation cubes (such as ones you can get from the Flea Market), because they are bad quality.

If you are not going to dedicate your time to learning the algorithms (sequences) needed to solve this, I do not reccommend to buy ANY Rubik's Cube, because you will become very frustrated in a short period of time, and probably end up cheating to solve it.
