    My First Fish Bowl

    Toy

    Editorial Review

This fabric fish bowl is as charming as it is easy to clean. Part of the award-winning Lamaze Infant Development System, this innovative baby toy stimulates a whole new world of sensory exploration. Each adorable oceanic creature has its own distinct pattern, texture, and sound, and babies will soon distinguish between the plush clam, the crab that crinkles, the sea star that jingles, and the sunny-faced fish. The fish bowl has clear sides to view the marine life and for playing games of fishing each one out. All of the pieces are made of brightly colored fabric that cleans up with a damp cloth. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great, colorful toy!
Our son liked this toy from when he was tiny, about three months old, through even now, when he's over a year. Little babies like the bright colors and interesting textures and sounds -- crinkles, bells, etc. -- and older babies like to carry around the fish and put them in and take them out of the bowl. This toy is one of our favorites. The only bad thing is it's also one our cat's favorites, and she likes to steal the fish to cuddle with them!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute and fun
This toy is very cute and appeals to my 6 month old.She loves the colors and shapes!I think its educational value will increase as she gets a little bit older, and can put the toys back in the 'bowl' -- right now it's fun to pull them all out!

5-0 out of 5 stars *I* love this thing
I saw this toy before I was pregnant and though it was so cute!
So after I had my daughter, I had the best excuse to buy it!!!

She loves it.I bought it for her when she was about 3 months old. She'd chew on the little clam. Now she uses it to learn that they make noise, and she can put them in and take them out of the bowl.

It's worth the money.Cute, educational, (quiet.. heh), and durable. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 1-year-old is constantly playing with this ball
I bought this set for my son when he was about 5 months old and I have been thrilled at how he has enjoyed it as he has passed from stage to stage.

At first, with limited mobility, he liked holding it or looking at the bright colors. Once he was crawling, he started batting it across the room with his hand, then chasing it excitedly. Now that he is starting to throw things, I am glad that this soft, plush ball is a favorite toy, because it can safely be thrown without hurting anything (or anyone).

The ball is soft and light, making it easy to grab and lift with one hand. It has a quiet bell inside which is fun for him but not annoying to me.

Admittedly, he has largely ignored the cube, but this set was well worth the very affordable price for the ball alone. It has given our son hours upon hours of enjoyment. When he comes into his playroom, it's often the first thing he looks for. It's nice knowing that anytime he's getting cranky, I can just pull out the ball and he'll be smiling and playing.

Sometimes the simple toys are the ones they love best. That's certainly been the case for our boy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Loves to chase it around
My baby who is now 8 months has always loved this set, especially the ball! When he was younger he would grasp it between his legs! Now that he is older and crawling, he LOVES to chase it all around the house! He plays with this toy more than any of the others! I like how it is soft and rolls so easily.

3-0 out of 5 stars Stimulating color for small babies - playful for toddlers!
As a new mother, I thought this ball and cube set was adorable. The recommended age was 3mos+, so I imagined it being perfect for my 3 month old daughter and expected her to actually *play* with it.Consequently, I was very dissapointed when all she did was clutch the toys and took no interest when I rolled the ball and cube towards her.At around 6 mos, I gave up on her liking them and I packed them away for the next baby only to pull them out a few weeks ago. Now, at 18 Months of age, she is nuts about them!Throwing them into the air and bouncing the soft colorful ball across the floor to me.I was amazed at her interest and came back here to check on the review I had written months ago... when I discovered the age span was 3mos - 2 years.I wish I had known that last year!To sum up, if I had known then what I know now, I would buy this set again - only I wouldn't expect to see her actually playing with the ball and cube til she was older.I guess the only advice I can pass along is, the recommended age seems to be set very young and don't worry if your baby is really not interested... because someday, he or she will be. :) ... Editorial Review

These stimulating toys are designed to be attached to other Tiny Love products, such as the TinyLove Gymini 3D Activity Gym and the Tiny Love Gymini Deluxe. The set of three keys will be a sure hitwith babies--easy for small hands to handle and made with plenty of chewy rubber. The rattling bear flyingon a rubbery yellow cloud makes an excellent teething toy. The cloth bird with flapping yellow wingsmakes a satisfying squeak when squeezed. The plastic link on the toys allows them to be attached just aboutanywhere, but especially to cribs and playsets.--Gail Hudson ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not So Great Toy
My father bought this toy for my son as an Easter gift when he was 8 months old, and the only thing he liked was the teethable car keys. I think this toy was actually ment for a much younger baby, and not an 8 month old.
I now have a 7 week old baby who might find the toys to be more fun, since I put them away when my first ds was 12 months old. Although, since I have gotten them back out, my now 19½ month old still wants the keys, even though I think he's too old for them, and he still has his plastic keys that aren't really made for teething.

I'll probably write another review on this toy when I see if my youngest son likes the toys or not.

3-0 out of 5 stars playtime wont last long
Like I wrote in my title, playtime wont last long! My daughter still cant really use the squeeze toy and shes much older than when she first got these toys which were her first! The other toys didnt really keep her interest at all. I used these toys when she was really really young just to get her eyes to follow objects. After that these toys basically stayed at the bottom of the toy box.

4-0 out of 5 stars A nice addition to your activity gym
These colorful toys are sure an eye-catcher for my 4 month old! He loves to shake the keys around and we found a hidden surprse in the birdie the other day......it sqeeks! Not only can you hang these on your activity mat/gym but you can take them off for your baby to shake and play with for months even after he outgrows the gym! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

The thinking's not fuzzy in these board books, but the animalscertainly are. Sandra Boynton's familiar furry creatures introduce simple concepts in this bright collection of four books, replete with clever line drawings. In Horns and Toes and In Between, three horned monsters teach the parts of the body in rhyme: "...and we have a fuzzy TUMMY that we all like to pat / and a little BELLY BUTTON in the middle of that."The Going to Bed Book gets a Noah's Ark of animals organized for bed: "They hang their towels on the wall / and find pajamas, big and small." Opposites is just that: cute animals "high and low / fast and slow / heavy and light / day and night." In the rhyming reader But Not the Hippopotamus, a hippo finds himself on the outs as "a cat and two rats are trying on hats. / But not the hippopotamus. / A moose and a goose together have juice. / But not the hippopotamus." Rest assured the hippo finds love at the end. (Baby to preschool) --Claire Dederer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Get these four and you'll still want more!
These were among the first books we bought for our son, who is now one year old. We like them so much we ended up buying the other box set, too. And some other Boynton books as well.

Sandra Boynton's books have a terrific rhythm to them that makes them fun to read. "The Going to Bed Book" was an immediate hit with my husband because it's fun -- a great bedtime story, but not as sappy as classics like "I Love You as Much." The other three titles in this collection score just as well with our son and with us.

What I love is how these books work on several levels. For the youngest readers, they present eye-catching illustration and simple rhymes. As the child gets older, the books have larger lessons to teach, from the concept of "Opposites" to the deeper, more poignant message of "But Not the Hippopotamus," the tale of a hippo who's left out of all the fun until the other animals finally invite her to join in.

If you're asking yourself whether you really need FOUR titles by Sandra Boynton, well, at least for us, four was only the beginning. So take advantage of the low price of buying them as a set.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter's favorites!
When I first got this group of books (and also the other set), it didn't hold my daughter's attention. She was still just a baby, so I'm assuming the pictures didn't thrill her. Then she turned 18 months...In the last three months I think I've read each of these books at least twice a day.I know them by heart and she does too.In fact she sleeps with a couple every night!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply essential for every well-read infant.
I think "The Going to Bed Book" is the best night-night book ever written."But Not the Hippopotamus" is a tear-jerker - "But YES the hippopotamus!" - and "Horns to Toes" is a rockin' good book to sing, rather than read.Sandra Boynton is wonderful; I want her to come to my house and hang out.In the meantime, I'll settle for reading these books to my kids and making sure that every baby *I* know has them in his library. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE these critters
These critters are so cute! My son received them when he was only three months as a gift. He would sleep with the critters every night. they are soft and small for the littlest hands. He fell in love with the bear. now he is three and the bear is so warn out! Ive been trying to find another but can't. If anyone out there could help me or knows of a site that still sells these critters please help! with all these bad reveiws i just wanted to say that one little bear critter has made my son happy for three years!

3-0 out of 5 stars cute, yet not as nice as I'd expected
I thought this looked so cute on-line, but was a tad disapointed when I received it because the washcloths are tiny, cheap and scratchy.I tossed them. The animals are adorable and I use them as as the "wash" cloths.Good thing they're not expensive

2-0 out of 5 stars washcloth not soft, but cute animals
I was given this gift set when my daughter was born 3 years ago.The animals are still holding up well, but after sitting in her bathtub toy netfor a few months, they began to get filled with water and started to mold.I tossed them in with the wash and they turned out fine. The wash cloth set that it came with is a different story.First of all, they're not soft, and that's not good for soft baby skin.I have also noticed that they don't come clean very well when you wash them. It's really a shame that they make the set look so cute, but didn't take the time to make the product better. ...
