    Alpha Omega W/ Latch B/p

    Editorial Review

When you have the moxie to put both "Alpha" and "Omega" in the name of your product, you better have the quality to back it up. Fortunately, this versatile LATCH-equipped car seat from Cosco comes through. It features a five-point harness and a four-position headrest, which can be adjusted without re-threading. Three different recline positions provide maximum comfort for kids from birth to 80 pounds. We had no trouble installing and adjusting the seat, and found the dark fabric suitable for masking whatever juice spills inevitably occur. --John Moe ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Will not fit in my van
I have captain's chairs in the middle row of my Grand Caravan. The base is sooo wide that the AO car seat is not compatible with the captain's chairs.I was told this by trained car seat installers in my county, and after buying TWO seats for my twins. Now I need to return them.

4-0 out of 5 stars The only seat you need!
We got this seat for our shower and it was excellent! Our son was 8lbs at birth and we took him home from the hospital in it. (the manuf. says 5lb &up, but he just fit into it by our hospital's standards)The only problem was that it is hard to level even with the car seat leveler and it is fairly big when facing rear so it probably wouldn't work in a compact car.But our son loves it and it's the only seat we'll ever need to buy!

1-0 out of 5 stars Please check consumerreports.org for ratings!!
I noticed this car seat received poor reviews by consumers, so I decided to check the actual safety ratings from crash tests. It scored "good" which is a C average.I also noticed that the Britax Marathon scored great by other consumers on this site... BUT PLEASE CHECK SAFETY RATINGS...IT ALSO SCORED ONLY A C or "good" rating.AND IT HAS A RECALL ON THE ITEM, so check into it please.

The evenflo Triumph and the evenflo Vanguard 5 scored better with an excellent and a very good in crash test ratings.the Triumph was the best (though heavier than most), but the Vanguard was just a nose behind.Pick which seat YOU like and then check the safety ratings. That is what should be important.Evenflo seemed to be the brand that scored the highest overall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Travel System
I love this travel system. My infant was very tiny and all we needed extra was a premie head rest.I love the attachable toys.It took me almost 8 months to figure out how the toys attach though. The only complaint I have is that the instructions are not clear.

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless after baby outgrows infant seat
We registered for this stroller because it was medium priced and seemed like it would last a long time (infancy through toddler). However, now that my baby is 5 1/2 months old and can no longer use the infant carrier, I am discovering this stroller's faults: 1. the seat only has 2 positions, 90 degrees sitting up or fully reclining. Since I stroll my baby to sleep all the time neither of these positions work at all. She would never stand for being fully reclined while awake and would never fall asleep sitting at a 90 degree angle! 2. The basket has never been very accessible. Why they even designed it like this is beyond me. Hardly anything fits and it is practically impossible to place anything in it. 3. I just took my second plane trip and the top of the compartment near the handle with the clock (which was coming loose) was lost somewhere between the door of the plane in New York and the door of the plane in Atlanta. Unfortunately we had a pair of sunglasses and some receipts in there that are now gone. 4. It does not fold down remotely flat and takes up the whole trunk of the car.
In the end I am going to have to buy a new stroller! My friend bought the Metrolite Travel System by Graco which came out just after my baby was born and I already had the other one. It seems that Graco looked at all the faults I described above and fixed them and only increased the price by $30. I am not sure if I want to go with another Graco, but from seeing my friend's Metrolite, I would recommend spending the extra $30 and getting that model.

3-0 out of 5 stars The stroller fell apart
We received this travel system as a gift. At first we thought this travel system was wonderfull, and then it began to fall apart. The carseat itself, we have not had any problems with. We did have a professional carseat installer look it over for us and said that this was a wonderful system.
Our son is now 4 months old, and we have used the stroller daily, but that doesn't explain why the wheels have fallen off. I assure you, we have not been unusually hard on this stroller. First it was just the outside wheel that came loose. We simply had to replace the cap that held the wheel to the spokes. That fix lasted about 2 weeks and then the entire mechanism fell off, while my son was in it, being pushed by my 81 year old grandmother.
The part that is most upsetting to me is that we are having a difficult time getting the stroller replaced. We did turn in our warranty card with a copy of our receipt, but we are still fighting to get them to honor their own printed warranty. This stroller is less then 6 months old with only 3-4 months of usage - it should not be falling apart. One of the main reasons we choose this system was because of the name GRACO - we thought for sure they would stand by their products, I guess we were wrong.Unless you do not mind the wheels of the stroller randomly falling off - I would NEVER recommend this sytem or GRACO to anyone. ... ExerSaucer - Ultra

    Baby Product (19 November, 2003)

    Editorial Review

This Portable Fun Ultrasaucer is one of the most versatile and action-packed entertainers on the market. Loaded with eye-catching interactive toys and activities (there are 11 separate activities) designed to encourage hand-eye coordination and cognitive development, the Ultrasaucer also has some great design features that make life easier for mom and dad, like height adjustable legs, three flip-down feet for stationary play, and a very handy "fold" button so you can easily collapse the Ultrasaucer for compact storage or travel. Babies can bounce or rock on the saucer's wide plastic base, or spin around inside the saucer on the soft fabric seat. The Ultrasaucer is designed for use by children from 4 months of age until they can walk. --Chris Burns ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Shop Around
My 5 month old daughter loves her ExerSaucer-Ultra but shop around before you buy.We found this same ExerSaucer for 69.96 at Wal-Mart!We brought Lauren to the stores with us to look at them and this one was by far her favorite. She loves the colors and there are tons of different toys to choose from. She loves to be in it and it comes in very handy while I'm trying to do some house work or cook supper. It is a great investment but just be sure to price other places before you buy it!

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best Exersaucer!!!
We got this for our daughter when she was about 4 1/2 months old. Right away she loved it.It keeps her occupied long enough for me to prepare and cook dinner sometimes, which is very helpful!! Phoebe is now 7 months old and still loves it and now she is bouncing in it a lot and just laughs at all her toys. I really loved the side stands for when we 1st got it because then that way she wasn't swayed back and forth a lot it stayed very steady. We also love the Castle theme very neat and colorful. My only complaint will be that I have not yet figured out how to fold it. However Ihaven't been in the situation I had to yet and I need to look closer at the instructions I guess. As for the Jester they must have fixed that problem because Phoebe is always playing with that part and never has gotten hurt by it at all. Great product I highly recommend it!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST of the best
I was really deciding between this one and the Baby Einstien for my now 4 month old son. His 20 month old twin brothers just had an older hand-me down model, but I thought we should get a new one. I really love this exersaucer. At BRU we tried ALL of them. And we really liked this one, and the B.E. When Zach was in this one though, he was the most excited but in the B.E he didnt really like the toys as much. Its super easy to adjust hieght settings, and it was REALLY easy to put together, everything really snaps in place. Its easy to spin the seat and everythings really colorful and always catches his attention. He likes it when we take the pegs off and rock it for him. The toys are all VERY safe, and I just adore the castle theme (my son seems fond of the green frog prince since hes plush and can easily fit part of him in his mouth). The music is really cute, yet not overly annoying. There is room of the "tray" for maybe some cheerios and maybe for my son to hold his favorite plushy. The seat is a very cute pattern and doesnt show stains too much. My son really really loves this, I dont see how anyone could possibly resist this cute and durable, (my 20 month old twins are FOREVER climbing on it) exersaucer! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

While a tad more expensive than most other baby carriers, BabyBjörn carriers offer parents some wonderful design features thatmake it well worth the extra money. By allowing you to hold your babysnugly against your chest, the carrier promotes a sense of comfort andcloseness between a parent and a child. It also allows you to maintaineye contact with and talk to your little one during trips to the store, walks around the house, and short hikes (for both mom and dad). Thecarrier's other big advantage is that it frees up both your hands whileyou carry your infant. The black carrier consists of a large triangularfront piece that supports baby's head and body, along with a set ofthick padded straps that are worn like a shoulder-and-waist harness.Newborns and smaller babies should always ride rear-facing in thecarrier, while older babies who can hold their heads upright unassistedcan ride forward-facing and enjoy the view ahead of them. Made ofmachine-washable 100 percent cotton, the carrier can be easily adjustedfrom the front for your baby's size. Although the carrier has beentested for use with babies who weigh from 8 to 25 pounds, some parentsfound that the carrier became uncomfortable to wear and placed a lot ofstrain on the lower back when it was used to carry a child weighingmore than 20 pounds. --Chris Burns ... I really liked this carrier, however, unless you plan on using it ALOT when the baby is small, you won't get your money's worth. My son was too big for this by 3 months.By the time I decided to take him out of the house, he barely fit in it.It might be a better idea to get a cheaper carrier. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Bouncer
I wish my son could still use it. He has grown out of it and grew out of it TOO SOON!! Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I recommend this bouncer to anyone who asks. I never had any problems with it. Besides remembering to change the batteries before I set my son it and realizing that the batteries are dead. My son loved the vibration and music and water noise. I am so glad I registered for it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Bouncer but I likethe kick N play better
We got this one based on looks alone for our baby. My you, he loves the spinning water actions of the bouncy seat. We ended up buying the kick N play bouncy seat for Ethan's grandparent's house but kept it for US!The Kick N Play is MUCH more interactive and sparks their enjoyment more. Our son, who is 4 months now, really gets it going. He kicks, BOUNCES, and loves the fact that we can put it on auto play OR he can control it. The Aquarium Bouncer is nice and peaceful but the system doesn't work unless it's plugged in properly and it's just not that exciting to kids.

The Kick N Play is cheaper and really much better for being a bouncy seat. It is more flexible and really is more of what a bouncy seat should be

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy
I was very meticulous about picking a bouncer. I researched all of them. I even took my daughter to the store and had her sit in all the display bouncers. Eventually I narrowed it down to 2, which I bought and assembled. This one was hands down the best. Everything from the perfect angle of the seat back to the placement and settings of the toy to its durablilty...

Other bouncers placed their toys too far down- my daughter would strain to look at it, or too close to her. The settings are great because they're very calming and entertaining. My ONLY issue is that I wish there were more choices of music, but compared to other bouncers, it had the most, it seems. Durability wise- I moved this thing everywhere and would accidently bang it on the walls, drag it on the floor, etc. My son even sat on it and it didn't rip or break in any way. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bugs be gone!
This is a great product if you are planning on being outdoors a lot with your baby.It was so nice to be able to lay the baby in the dome, zip it up, and not worry whether or not bugs were going to bite his sensitive skin.It was also a great alternative to a pack and play for the early days.It was great to take along to the grandparents house for naps.I also would have liked a better mobile/toy type feature.Maybe even vibration. However, I loved this product even as is and would recommend it to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Summer newborn- You need this!!!
The Learning Patterns Play Dome was given to me as a shower gift, little did I know how useful it would be for the 1st four months of my son's life. He was slightly jaundice so the pediatrician wanted him outside or close to windows. The Play dome allowed us the freedom of sitting outside without having to worry about bugs biting or the sun being to intense. My son was able to play and sleep in the Play Dome with no problem. Every mom with a newborn in the spring, summer or fall should have one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Essential for summer outdoors and for travel too!
Rated 4 instead of 5 only because I wish it had a vibration & music feature like the Fisher Price Kick-n-Play.I simply bought a "Playskool Slumber Sounds Vibration System" (which is made for a crib but I made it work with this product) from BabyGenie.com (only $9.99).

This product was the solution to our summer-outing problems!Has a sunshade/canopy, has a bug-netting, also has a place to hang toys from like a toy gym (you can even put different toys on it as it's got velcro fasteners), has a zipper to keep child enclosed from 'admirers', folds into about 4" half-circle with handles to carry it (and stands on it's own when folded), and it has a bouncy feel to it almost like a bouncer. It props up off the ground by about 3-4 inches & is almost flat with a very generous sized area for baby to lie in.You can also lower one half to make one side more 'propped up' instead of having baby lie flat. This was also a great solution for travel to see family as I did not need to bring our bouncer AND toy-gym (this is both in one and travels easier!).This has also been great for when I work in the garden with baby next to me, comfy & entertained!

Update at 7mos age (July 04), used this SO often!Great for when family baby-sits (has functioned as a place to sleep AND play while he is left at families house for our evenings out.Great for the pool area, he passes out cold in it after hard play in the pool.LOVE LOVE LOVE it & will keep it for next baby! ... Toy
    list price: $29.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

This toy will make you want to take a nap. Equipped with straps that attach it to a crib, this play aquarium and music maker is the perfect thing to amuse a child or soothe them to sleep. There are three settings, depending on what kind of stimulation is needed: music only; music plus soft glowing lights; and music plus lights, bubbles, and moving fish. There are also three music options, the best one offering soft and melodic New Age fare, the other two somewhat odd, spacey versions of familiar lullabies. The music combined with the lights creates an instantly peaceful, soothing ambiance. There are a couple of buttons and doodads for baby to bat around that make the fish react in various ways. If these buttons were a little more responsive, this toy would be near perfect. --David Stoesz ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars My 4 month old daughter loves this toy
Our daughter has quite a few "ocean wonders" toys and she seems to really enjoy them. This crib toy (and she has 4 of them)is her favorite thing. She likes the music that plays and the lights. If she wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to play I turn this on and usually she will fall asleep staring at it.Plus the button for baby to push is big so she turns it on by herself all the time, whether by design or accident (I prefer to think by design)

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3 month old loves this!
I recieved this as a gift for my daughter and we put it in her crib when she was 2 months old.She really loves it and will not go to sleep at night until she hears the music and then she is out.She loves music and this is great for that.During the day she enjoys watching it and then she smiles. She is only 3 months and she likes it now!

2-0 out of 5 stars not that impressed
I tried this with both of my children, and it certainly did not allow me to just put them in their crib and fall asleep. My biggest issue with this item is that it can really only be hooked up to the top of the crib railing, which is too far up to really look at if you're the baby lying on the mattress.I tried to rig it up so it was mattress-level, but the bumper pad got in the way.Plus, my kids would either turn it off or on if they accidentally hit the on/off button while trying to play with the other buttons--that should be on the top of the device. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
I got this toy for my twin sons when they were about 3 months old, now they are 20 months and still love him! He attatches great to the front bar of my Twin Savvy. He makes alot of noises and still keeps them occupied. WE do have to rotate toys now that the twins are older and get bored easily, but Pupsqueak is a favorite! He withstands washings and teething, spit ups, and biting, and even attempts to drop him off the stroller! He makes a cute barking noise and he has alot of little things for a baby to teeth on and to look at. My sons like to fiddle with the rings and hold him, they enjoy listening to him and of course "eating" him. I am surprized in the durablility of all my Lamaze toys and I really didnt think that they would last this long! They are just wonderful! My sons get a kick out of pupsqeak and he really is captivating from birth to childhood, a great toy that will last for years!

5-0 out of 5 stars PUPSQUEAK!
Next to BR Max the monkey (also by Lamaze) and Zach's "lovey", pupsqueak is his favorite toy. Zach is four months old and really really loves pupsqueak. We use him to give variety to our son and Zach really loves him! If we make pupsqueak squeak, Zach goes into hysterics, and my 20 month old twins join in! ITs perfect for those really silent times when everyone needs a good laugh. Along with Max, pups (what we call him) is perfect for tummy time. Pups is also great for teathing, once Zach really starts getting those teeth in! Pups attatches well to almost anything, but my boistrus ball of fire gets so angrey and fustrated if we tether him to anything, he likes to hold him. Pups is very durable and has been easily spot cleaned and even in the wash! The colors are great for my son to stare at and he just loves him. I dont know what it is about Lamaze toys but they sure do put alot of thought into them to make them so gosh darn cute and interesting!

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW
I am dumbfounded. I have two sets of twins, 8 Month B/B and 3 year old B/G. ALL of them LOVE this toy. My older twins enjoy making him a "baby". And giving him kisses amd making him do all kinds of tricks. They could do this with almost anytoy, but the ADORE pupsqueak. That Said I have 2 others wich I gave to my boys. They LOOVVVEE him too! I was amazed. I dont know if its just because hes a dog, (their lovey toys are a black and white dog and a brown and white dog, and they love our boxer and golden retriever mix) or maybe its just because PUPSQUEAK ROCKS! They love it when I attatch him to their carseats, They just got "big boy" carseats and pupsqeak of course had to make the transition too! A few weeks ago we went on a 8 hour car ride, I know that my youngest twins stayed quite mostly because they were soooo comfy in their marathons, and because they had... PUPSQUEAK! They had the option to play with other lamaze toys, which they loved but those just dont compare to pupsqueak. They even like him in the crib and in the stroller, a versitile little toy. And A toy that for 12 bucks will last THREE YEARS, wow talk about getting a bargin! Pupsquek is definatly NUMBER ONE FOR MY LITTLE BOYS! Well maybe number two, but no one ever beats their loveys Puppy and Doggy! ... Read more

Here are three toys from Tiny Love to stimulate baby visually, tactilely, and aurally. Included inthis set is a two-headed bird that's bright red with white polka dots on one side and black with white polkadots on the other. It has big black and white eyes, two pointy red beaks, and black and red wings withsimple white flowers. Press the bird's tummy and he squeaks! There's a white key ring with a black ball ontop and three black, white, and red keys attached. The tops of the keys are hard plastic with raised letters(A, B, C) and checks, squiggles, and zigzags. The lower portions of the keys are made of white rubberyplastic that's perfect for teething. Finally, there's a black and white, hard plastic bear that rattles and has ared, rubbery plastic teether attached. All three toys come with plastic rings that facilitate attaching them toother Tiny Love products, such as the Gymini 3-D Activity Gym and the Activity Arch, or to a stroller orhigh chair. 5-0 out of 5 stars I have these and...
If you're looking for the older style black, white and red tiny love mats they can be found on ebay for dirt cheap.I contacted tl and they don't make that style mat anymore. That is too bad, I think, since it's a well known fact that sharply contrasting colors are best for a newborns visual development.

5-0 out of 5 stars My baby loves these!
My almost 3 month-old has been playing in his gymini for over a month already so I bought these to add to it. He hasn't been that interested in the bird yet but he loves the keys and the teddy bear rattle. The keys have taught him to grab and hold on for the first time, before he was just batting at things.

4-0 out of 5 stars Safe and fun
My daughter really enjoys the keys. The bear, as many have said is just too hard to grasp, though. Because many other reveiws spoke of the bird being boring, I attatched it to my babys car seat thinking it might actually lull her to sleep in the car. Not so! This in the first toy that she reached out and got hold of! It took me two weeks to realize that it beeped when you sqeezed it. Don't disregard it because it seems boring to you (as it does to me!) It is easy to grasp, bright and soft. In other words, perfect for baby. Overall, I would have to say that this is a good investment although I wish the bear was more useful. Maybe when she gets older.

I hope this was helpful! ... Read more

The design of this pad makes a changing table a lot safer for awiggly baby. About 1.5 inches thick in the middle, it rises to fully4.25 inches high at the sides, making it almost impossible to roll off. There's also the standard nylon strap (with plastic snap-togetherbuckle) across the middle. Two securing tabs mean the pad can be nailedor screwed in place on a changing table made of wood or a similarmaterial. The bottom surface of the pad is stiffened with an interiorboard and foam-covered on the outside so that it's nonslip. The topsurface, quilted in a rose pattern, can be wiped clean. --RichardFarr ... This one is a bit more thicker than the other one changing pad and it was well worth it for $2 difference although I can't say for sure that my baby won't like the other one.As for this one, my baby likes it so much that he rather sleep in this instead of his crib.

This one has the screws to nail to the dresser altho I never used that since the pad doesn't slide.Just don't leave the baby alone on there.

I bought the Terry cover although it was slightly small. The feel is awful but there's not another choice so I bought some extra large burp cloth to place it under the butt area.So far it has worked really well since stain doesn't stick on the burp cloth as to the Terry cover.I probably would buy some king pillow cases to see if that fits better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Why aren't measurements listed?
Often measurements aren't listed for products on this site.Aside from the height, there are no other measurements listed. How does Amazon expect consumers to make decisions based on a small picture and the editorial review?I feel like they are treating us like we are stupid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Royal potty was a royal pain!
I normally am an avid researcher before I purchase these kind of products that I am very umfamiliar with. When we had to begin the potty training journey for our 2 1/2 year old son, I went to a BBRU and stood for quite some time staring at the different potty chair options.I finally went with the Royal Potty because I thought the music would be a good incentive for him to want to use the chair.Great concept in theory, but this particular product needs refining because there were too many negatives and I inevitably purchased a different potty seat.
Some of the problems I faced were:
1-The music kept going off at random times. He'd be sitting on it and the fanfare would play when my son wasn't actually "going".It gave the little guy such false hope!
2-The bowl is pretty small and difficult to remove. You have to give it a little tug to get it to come out.My son would always want to "help" and really created more of a mess than it was worth.
3-The seat has so many cracks and crevices that it was difficult to clean and sanitize. Also, it would leak a bit here and there.
4-My son is on the little side for his age- he's a skinny little thing. And bless his heart for sitting on that potty trying so hard, but when he got up his bottom was redder than a cherry.I felt so bad for him and can't imagine that it could have been comfortable for him.
The crown stickers, chart and book were cool and he enjoyed that aspect but I knew that for my own piece of mind that we needed a different potty. We ended up with the Training Rewards Soft Seat Potty & Stepstool by Graco and are thrilled with it.Soft cushiony seat for his behind, bigger bowl, much easier to clean, and overall just a better product.Good luck!

1-0 out of 5 stars Leaks and the music encourages little hands
The first thing my daughter did was stick her hand past the motion detector to make the music go off. I had to take the batteries out so the music feature was worthless. Then when she sat down to go, the pee went through the crack between the seat and the bowl, down the leg of the chair and into a puddle on the floor. There are so many crevices that it is impossible to clean, especially along the route from the crack between the seat and the bowl and down the leg of the chair. This thing is a JOKE. I am a sucker for buying.

1-0 out of 5 stars Floor cleaning required!!!
I do not reccommend this potty to anyone.I purchased it because I needed a potty that was up on feet because of where the heater vent was.Well, my son does use the potty, but then I always have to clean up the floor. The (...)comes out the gap between the bowl and the seat, even with the splash guard in place.I only had the batteries in place for a mere few hours before I had enough. He was more interested in sticking his hand in and out of the opening to make the music go off. Then I found him testing all the other potty's in the house trying to make the music play. I am headed to the store to look for a new one today. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Way too small
These are more than snug on our baby's mattress.I have to bend the corner way back.I have ripped a couple because they just wouldn't stretch enough.I even emailed Kidsline about it, not that they'll do anything about it.Even so, I'll keep buying the darn sheets because they go with the bedding.Good luck!

3-0 out of 5 stars A little snug!
I love the bedding and this sheet has been washed many times with very little fading-some fading, but nothing dramatic. My only complant is by the time you get the sheet on the bed you're ready for a nap! The sheet fits very tight. I would still recommend purchasing two because the sheet completes the look of the bedding and I tried other sheets but they just don't look as nice!

1-0 out of 5 stars Sheet is too small
I registered for and received this sheet as part of my nursery bedding.I washed the sheet once, and while I had no problems with fading, the sheet was entirely too small for my Colgate 2-n-1 mattress. I couldn't even get the sheet on three corners, much less four. I would not recommend this sheet at any price. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT AS SOFT AS YOU THINK!
I registered for this blanket online based on the reviews.I don't think it was worth the money, especially since Koala baby makes softer blankets that are cheaper. The material is actually kind of rough. You must use alot of fabric softener and a dryer sheet to make it soft.My suggestion is to go to the store and feel all the blankets before you buy!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute and durable!
We love this soft fleece blanket. It's adorable and has quickly become our favorite.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's not bad, but there's one much better
This is the blanket my cousin has been using with my nephew for few weeks after his birth. It did the job fine and she had no complaints until the day she went to Babies'r'us again and found "Koala Baby Luxury Plush Baby Blanket" which is the softest blanket you'll find there (try it!), and started using it in the crib.
Now, we only use this one for playtime on the floor or when we go out.
If she knew about the Plush Blankets sooner, she wouldn't had registered for the Deluxe Fleece. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Classical music has been scientifically proven to encourage cognitive development in young children. Baby Beethoven, a 29-minute Baby Einstein production, presents excerpts from five of the composer's most famous symphonies, as well as incidental music, in a child-friendly, sensory-rich format. Familiar Beethoven themes like the Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony are playfully rendered on electric piano and accompanied by colorful images of toys in action, puppetry, and babies at play. The musical excerpts are relatively short and the imagery is quick-paced and varied enough to grab the limited attention span of viewers age 1 to 36 months. Unlike previous Baby Einstein presentations, each symphonic excerpt (though not the incidental music) is labeled--a feature that encourages further exploration of favorite pieces. Baby Beethoven is an aural and visual feast that promotes creativity, mental awareness, and an appreciation for classical music in infants, toddlers, and their parents. --Tami Horiuchi ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Should be called "Symphony of Dud"
This follows the same format as most of the Baby Einstein videos with lots of toys, kids playing, shiny colorful spinning things, puppets making noises, photos of babies, etc.The only thing I even somewhat liked was the magnetic Hide 'n' Seek Doors (that was kind of a cool toy) and the colored oil in water. There are no words spoken.I wouldn't recommend it.Get some good music cd's if you want your baby exposed to symphonies. If you really want to get some Baby Einstein dvd's then the only ones I personally like are Baby Neptune (water), Baby Galileo (sky), Baby Newton (shapes) & Numbers Nursery (1 - 5).All the rest are definitely not worth it, in my opinion.I have written reviews for the ones I like that I just listed and many others. Please read my reviews.

4-0 out of 5 stars baby einstein-baby beethoven-symphony of fun
My son is 10 months old and has been watching Baby Mozart for months. He recently had a severe cold and it was the only thing that would soothe him. I decided to get a few more from the Baby Einstein collection. This is his second favorite. It is similar to Baby Mozart but has enough changes to really hold his interest. He enjoys the puppets in particular. I am thrilled to have another tape for him to watch during his next cold!

    Editorial Review

Designed for infants and toddlers (1 to 36 months), Baby Bach isa nicely produced video thatfeatures recognizable, familiar toys and colorful objects, moving to the complexly beautiful music ofJohann Sebastian Bach. According to the video producers, "Bach's music has shown to enhancecreativity, improve academic achievement, reduce anxiety and heighten mental awareness." Any parentwill embrace this theory. Not only did this video completely captivate a 22-month-old for its entire 30-minute run-time, but it's easy on the parents, too. The images arelively, clean, and sharp, and producers The Baby Einstein Company have a firm handle on what interests babies and toddlers. Theextraneous segments with two pretty little blonde girls is silly, but forgivable. Given that most children elect towatch a video repeatedly, this is one that parents won't mind in the slightest. The music, available onCD, is simply lovely. --N.F. Mendoza ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Quality is missing - Skip this one
I like and own other Baby Einstein DVDs.The quality of production is missing in Baby Bach. The segments do not seem themed (as in the other DVDs).In fact it is annoying random as if it was just slapped together. There is too much of a reliance on still shots rather than moving ones that work with the music.

And her kids are annoying at this point.I got the feeling they were being marketed to us as Adorable Kids.Too much.

1-0 out of 5 stars Put this one Bach on the shelf....not worth it
I don't care for most of the Baby Einstein videos (I have only liked 4 out of 16 that I have watched).Baby Bach happens to be one of the ones I don't like. It's just music with toys and spinning things; like many of the Baby Einstein videos. One toy was pretty neat (a spinning top with blue water inside).Other then that, what really is the point of these videos?I really don't get it.I can just imagine my kid wanting all the toys they see. This video also had some very ugly clown faces in it.

I still don't like most of the Baby Einstein puppets and this video is no exception. At one point in the video you see a chicken puppet clucking. Then a you hear a voice that starts to say something and then instead of the chicken you see a little girl (Aspen Clark). She's apparently telling a joke. The first time you see and hear this you don't really know what's going on because she starts telling this joke while you still see the chicken puppet.By the time you understand that it's a girl telling a joke, the joke is half over. Her question is very difficult to understand.I had to listen four times to get what she says. She asks, "Why did the Mozart get rid of all his chickens?"Then you hear a squeeky adults voice say, "Why?"Aspen then says, "Because they kept saying Bach, Bach, Bach."Then you hear a bunch of adults in the background dying of laughter.I am sorry but it's lame. It's very poorly understandable and I don't think any babies or toddlers will even understand this joke.I don't know why it was included. At the very end of the video you see Aspen again and she says, "The video of me is all done?I'm not the star anymore?" Again, the adults burst into laughter.Sorry, I didn't find it funny.I wonder how Baby Einstien got so popular?Personally the only ones I like are Baby Neptune (water), Baby Galileo (sky) , Baby Newton (shapes), and Numbers Nursery (counting 1 - 5).I have reviewed these and other Baby Einstein videos as well.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not to replace Baby Mozart!!!
    Hi;

My 8 months old daughter loved Baby Mozart from the moment she watched it (she still does). I decided to add another baby einstein DVD to open up her horizon ... BIG MISTAKE!! I think that this is either a very boring DVD or it is for older kids (maybe over a year old).

My daughter is also terrified by the scene with the light show. She looks at it & cries like she is terrified. It is slowly getting better, but I continue using baby Mozart more!

    5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite!
My 10 month old has always loved this Giraffe. She likes to explore it, so it falling over is not a problem. She pokes her fingers in the large square holes on the sides, and like to push the button that plays the music. She also loves to grab the handle on top. Of course, she likes the blocks tumbling down too. Besides play a few musical notes, it doesn't do much, but she just loves it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Tumbling is right
I bought this Giraffe for my 8 month old who liked to take things out and was beginning to put things into containers.Well, the Giraffe falls down before he gets a chance to put the blocks into its mouth--someone has to sit next to him and hold the giraffe steady. However he loves playing with the blocks and throws them into a plain sand bucket.Skip the giraffe and just get the blocks.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not impressed
This toy is cute, but that's about it.I expected the blocks to actually "tumble" down the giraffe, perhaps in a zig-zag fashion. But they don't; they just "drop" straight to the bottom. There's a button at the bottom that plays a cute little tune when the block hits the bottom, but that's all this toy does. I guess I just expected more from it. We returned it. As a side note, we also got the Peek-a-Blocks Train and both my girls LOVE it! Costs a little more than the giraffe, but is worth it! ... Read more
