Xbox Bundle Pak with 2 Free Games: Sega GT 2002 and JSRF Average Customer Review: Video Game list price: $199.99 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review This limited edition Xbox bundle includes two Sega games, Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future--a $100 value!Take the power and flexibility of a dedicated computer-gaming system and combine it with the easy-to-use, instant-on format of a high-end console system and what do you get? Well, if you also add in DVD playback ability and broadband Internet connectivity, you get Xbox. The advanced components inside Xbox make it the undisputed powerhouse among current game consoles. A 733 MHz Intel main processor and 233 MHz graphics processor from industry leader nVidia deliver photorealistic graphics in real time. A cavernous hard drive stores saved games and characters, making flimsy memory sticks obsolete. The built-in Ethernet port enables super-fast multiplayer online gaming over a broadband Internet connection. Four game-controller ports allow you and three of your buddies to play at the same time, or you can use them for other peripherals such as gamepads, light guns, voice-activated headsets, and who knows what else? But Xbox has more going for it than fancy innards. The Xbox's Windows-based operating system is a breeze to program on, earning it grateful accolades from Electronic Arts, Infogrames, THQ, and other game producers. The less time developers spend struggling with the operating system means the more time they spend tweaking gameplay, which ultimately results in better games. And games are what it's all about. Well, games and the fun of owning a green-glowing game console that looks like it came from Darth Vader's living room. --Mike Fehlauer ... Read more Reviews (173)
This review is not for the X-Box itself as the above ass-hats thought it should be. This review is for the listed X-Box Bundle. As advertised, and i quote; "Xbox Bundle Pak(another spelling mistake!) with 2 Free Games: Sega GT 2002 and JSRF." As you can plainly see this bundle includes two games. The above reviews, which is a stretch saying that, said nothing about these two games. I may be wrong, having lowered my IQ massively by reading that dribble, and they might have mentioned them. So basicly I am just going to say this "Bundle" is not bad when you think about it. Receiving the X-Box console and two games for a fair price is pretty good. Three stars because these are horrid games. Mindless dribble... ... Read more Asin: B00006RH5L |

Xbox DVD Movie Playback Kit Average Customer Review: Video Game -- our price: $24.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Got an Xbox? Do you enjoy watching DVDs? Then you need one of these. This DVD playback kit unlocks the DVD functionality of Microsoft's powerful Xboxand helps make the console an even more important addition to your homeentertainment deck. Feeling rather light in hand, this remote features large keys that feel rubberyyet firm. The kit sports some of the basic functions you'd expect from a commoncontroller, including chapter skip, play, pause, and number buttons. There'salso handy 32x fast-forward and reverse controls. Pressing the display button calls up a friendly onscreen menu that allows accessto more features, including up to 10x magnification, A-B playback loop (forcueing and viewing favorite scenes repeatedly), and subtitle and audio options. It's worth noting that many lower-cost DVD remotes have access to such featuresthrough the press of a button. The fact that this one requires you to usea menu to access such common commands may rankle DVD aficionados, as the menu isa bit slower than using buttons. Still, the menu is quite intuitive and couldn'tbe much easier to use. For the remote to work, you'll need to plug the included infrared receiver intoan open controller port on the Xbox. Most gamers will never need to unplug thereceiver again, as you can plug it into the rarely used fourth port.Interestingly, the receiver works best when the remote is operated almostdirectly in front of it, and can be a little finicky when signals are sent fromthe far left or right. The couch potato crowd won't be thrilled to learn that the remote does notinclude power or eject buttons. Why such standard features were omitted escapesus, but that is far and away the worst thing we can say about an otherwisedecent control. --Mark Brooks Pros:

The Simpson's Road Rage Average Customer Review: CD-ROM (07 December, 2001) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.95 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review There's road rage, and then there's road rage Simpsons style! "D'oh!" Monty Burns is up to his greedy ways again. He's purchased Springfield's transit corporation and heinously jacked up the fares. Refusing to shell out for the new rates, the rage ensues. You'll take on commuters and jam-packed back routes, all in an effort to help buy back the corporation before time runs out. More than 25 Simpsons characters climb behind the wheel or wander the streets begging for a ride. Careen through timesaving shortcuts and take on terrain including hills, mountains, and forests. Wreak havoc in five Springfield neighborhoods that include landmarks such as Moe's Bar and the nuclear power plant. Busy traffic and wayward pedestrians confound your rage. However, two-wheel leans, speed starts, power slides, and other cool car physics help you release that rage. Multiple game modes let you go head-to-head in two-player split-screen action that challenges your opponent in a race for the next passenger, or you can steal his or her passenger midride! Complete up to 60 unique passenger deliveries in story mode, or take a leisurely Sunday drive through the fair Springfield. A bonus system lets you unlock cars and specific characters, while intuitive menus make this game easy to play. As Homer would say, "If it's hard to do, it's not worth doing!" ... This game is not very challenging either, and will probably take you no more than a month to finish. And when you do finish the game, let me tell you now, the ending is not that exciting. A plus side to this game is that an exclusive character & vehicle comes along every holiday, which goes with the holiday. That feature is kind of cool. But, you could easily see all the characters by re-setting the calendar on your game console, and if you don't do this, you will only see the holiday character once a year. This is an average game that is appropriate for the whole family, but it is not a must-buy. If I were you, I wouldn't rush out and buy this video game. ... Read more Asin: B00005O628 |

HALO Average Customer Review: Video Game (09 November, 2001) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review More often than not, when a game is in development for more than threeyears, it does not live up to the hype. Bungie's Halo is the exception. Not only does it meet expectations, it greatly exceeds them. This sci-fifirst-person shooter is a nearly perfect blend of gameplay, graphics, and sound. The story revolves around the conflict between humans and an alien race known asthe Covenant. The aliens have discovered a powerful artifact--on the ring-shapedplanet called Halo--that will shift the balance of power, and it's up to theplayer to stop them. In addition to several first-person-shooter levels, thegame offers numerous opportunities to engage in vehicular combat. Both the enemyand allied artificial intelligence are extremely impressive. Enemies will usethe terrain and layout to put you in tight spots. Allies will know when to coverand aid you. For instance, if you hop into a jeep, an ally will know to jump inand man the turret on the back of it. The graphics are exquisitely detailed, but only move at 30 frames per secondrather than 60. The sound effects and voice acting are superb. The level designis among the best ever; most of the game is engaging and challenging withoutbeing frustrating. There's also high replay value thanks to the built-insingle-player, cooperative, and deathmatch modes. Much like the outstanding GoldenEye 007 for Nintendo 64, Haloraises the bar for console first-person shooters. All console action games willbe measured against Halo for years to come. --Raymond M. Amped Average Customer Review: Video Game (21 November, 2001) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding ditches the conventional racingmodes of other snowboarding games and instead focuses on freestyle action--inother words, executing tricks with style. The excellent trick system andaccurate physics make for tight gameplay across the board. The game sports arobust career mode as well as quick start and multiplayer modes. Career mode is divided into four parts: High Score, Media, Sponsor, and ProRide. High Score challenges the player to pile on as many tricks as possible.Media requires the player to execute tricks at certain points where aphotographer is waiting. Sponsor mode focuses on a particular group of tricks. For instance, one sponsor may favor grinds over airs, so players better makesure to grind everything in site to win the sponsor's gear. This mode is alsothe least forgiving, as it's the only one where mistakes detract from theoverall score. Finally, Pro Ride has the player follow and out-trick one of 17professional riders in a follow-the-leader manner. Multiplayer mode allows up tofour players to participate in a round robin tournament with numerous selectableconditions. Graphically, the game isn't as sharp as EA's SSX Tricky, nor are thephysics and pace as extreme. That isn't to say the game looks bad. The real-lifelocations of Stratton, Brighton, Snow Summit, and more look great. Thesoundtrack features more than 50 songs in a wide array of genres, includingelectronica, emo, hip-hop, rap, punk, ska, and reggae. Players can also opt touse their own soundtracks off the Xbox hard drive, letting them snowboard toJourney and Air Supply as nature intended. --Raymond M. Padilla Pros:

Project Gotham Racing Average Customer Review: Video Game (17 November, 2001) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Bizarre Creations, the developer of Metropolis Street Racer forDreamcast, makes its Xbox debut with a sequel of sorts. Project GothamRacing is very similar to its predecessor, except with refined gameplaymechanics and vastly improved graphics. The focus of this racer is unique, asit's centered on the "kudos" system. Players are rewarded bonus points forsustaining slides, riding on two wheels, catching air, clean driving, andpassing other drivers. Chaining any of these actions together results inhigh-scoring combinations. So in addition to trying to finish the race first, theplayer must worry about style and technique to succeed in this game. The kudossystem is fun and definitely makes this game stand out from the competition. Another highlight is the game's detailed graphics. The more than 200 circuitsbased on London, Tokyo, San Francisco, and New York are extremely authentic. Those familiar with the cities are sure to do a double take at the numerouscourses. The game's cars are also beautifully rendered and feature impressivereflection and lighting effects. Gameplay is quite diverse with quick race, arcade race, kudos challenge, timeattack, and multiplayer modes. Kudos challenge alone features nine differenttypes of gameplay that range among races, time trials, and obstacle courses. Theonly significant drawback with Project Gotham Racing is its difficulty. Most players will find that two-thirds to three-quarters of the way through, thegame becomes exceedingly difficult to the point where it's more frustrating thanfun. Despite this problem, it still provides dozens of hours of entertainmentfor most and a challenging time for hard-core gamers. All players will findProject Gotham Racing a truly distinct and beautiful racer. --RaymondM. Padilla Pros:

Well that's it i reccomend this game if u have 2 share ur system wit a brother. Because 2player mode is awesome. or just play by yourself.
First off the game went under major reconstructive surgery for this incarnation, pretty much throwing away the 2:00 clock. I have serious problems with that, it's what made THPS, trying to do the goals within the time frame. Also out is the tape system, and again I'm seriously upset, just like I was for the arrival of THPS2. The gameplay is THPS without a question. Its a little dulled down from the sharpness of THPS3, but gives a little more realism to the game, but if I wanted that, I'd go out and pick up the deck and go skating. Many of the challenges are excrutiatingly tedious. Actually about 90% of them are tedious, I like the races, and the traditional collect SKATE of find 5 whatevers in 2 minutes, but then the competitions don't have the skate park feel to them. The levels are big, but fairly unimaginative (Chicago from Mat Hoffman 2....I won't say more) If you're looking for a THPS game, I would go 3 and maybe even 2x before 4, but if you're looking for new levels and don't have 4, pick it up now that it is at a platnium price, and be glad you didn't spend twice as much on it. ... Midnight Club II Average Customer Review: Video Game (06 June, 2003) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.88 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Midnight Club II builds on the illegal street racing fun found in the PS2 launch title Midnight Club. Like that game it pits you against street toughs in non-linear street races, all for bragging rights and access to better and more sophisticated rides. New in Midnight Club II are the police and the ability to drive a motorcycle. The game begins with you in the charge of a slob named Moses. He acts as tutor, teaching you how to control your beater car and how to use power-ups, as well as offering overall moral support. He teaches you how to go about the business of the game: earning new gear such as Nitrous Oxide, new cars, and even new controls. The award of new controls later in the game show how you're a novice driver at the start but by the end you're a pro who can land on all four wheels after a jump, expertly control a power slide turn, and much, much more. Much of the game consists of cruising around three large and well rendered cities: Paris, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. You don't just challenge someone to a race or sign up for an event and show up. Instead you get a map and have to follow a red dot. The dot is a rival racer. Once you track and chase him down, you flash your high beams and then you can race him. It's a clever way of giving you a warm up, keeping you immersed in the game, and best of all, teaching you the layout of each city. Racing is fun, fast, and furious. This isn't a simulation, it's an arcade-style racer--but the physics system is internally consistent so it feels more "realistic" than it actually is. Rockstar has put a premium on keeping you in control, keeping the thrill-factor high, and giving you a heart stopping sense of speed. The graphics are fantastic and the cities are incredibly detailed. As a counter-point, the voice acting is just plain awful. Midnight Club II offers a wide range of game modes ensuring it will be playable for a long time to come: career, mission, and a mode that lets you just jump into a race. Multiplayer is possible in hotseat mode, but it also supports Internet play. Internet lag is bad over dial-up modem (PS2), but broadband players (Xbox Live or PS2) will find the game silky smooth. All of this makes Midnight Club II a great addition to any videogame racing fan's library, but a must for online fans.--Bob Andrews Pros:

Spy Hunter Average Customer Review: Video Game (15 March, 2002) list price: $49.99 -- our price: $19.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Newly optimized for Xbox, SpyHunter is a mission-based combat racing game based on the arcade classic. It puts you behind the wheel of the G-6155 Interceptor, the ultimate counterintelligence prototype vehicle that's turbocharged and ready to go with 845 horsepower for lightning-fast speed. That's not all--there's an arsenal of futuristic weaponry and morphing abilities to turn the car into a speedboat, Jet Ski, or motorcycle. Basically, it's everything you need to undertake 14 high-adrenaline missions on wheels. Should you choose to accept these daring reconnaissance missions, you'll travel to Panama, England, the Middle East, Venice, and other exotic locations around the world. Each location is rendered with a high degree of realism and provides recognizable landmarks and scenery. Throughout, you're the hunter as well as the hunted, pursued by enemies over land, on water, and in the air. Your mission is to take on NOSTRA, an out-of-control multinational corporation headed by an evil madman who's threatening the world. As SpyHunter, you must always be ready for heavily armed enemy vehicles that lurk around every corner and strike at the first site of the Interceptor. But you have a steady supply of weapons trucks that load you up with machine guns, missiles, lasers, and counterattack weapons such as oil slicks, smoke screens, and cluster mines. Each successful attack gets you one step closer to revealing who SpyHunter is and what he's ultimately after. ... Read more Reviews (14)
9mm Machineguns rail gun These are the guns you get to dispatch enemies. Oh, and the machineguns sound SO COOL! Each machinegun 9mm, 15mm, and 25mm, has a totally different sound, and each one is better than the last. They're awsome! (out of 5) Graphics: 3 The graphics are pretty good, but not the best. They are clear, though, so you can make out enemies and objects clearly. The lighting and explosions when you fire machineguns are great. Sound: 5 The sound, as mentioned above, is great. Each gun has it's specific sound, and the sound is ingenious, especially the machineguns. Gameplay: 5 It's a racing game! Of course the gameplay is good! You drive around shooting enemies while doing objectives in a fexed period of time. The controls are good, too. Multiplayer: 4 In multiplayer is pretty good. The only problem is that you have to complete all objectives in a level to unlock a level in multiplayer, and each level has it's own mode of play (chicken hunter, spy race, satcom collect), so you can't, for example, do spy race in venice because venice is and always will be a satcom collect level. However, that doesn't bring down the score because it's so fun to use your guns and gadgets on each other no matter what level. Difficulty: 4 The reason the difficulty got a 4 out of 5 is because the game can be very hard at some times, but it's not impossible. You can still beat it. Overall: 4 1/2 Although this game gets a 4 1/2, it's so fun that it deserves a 5. Besides, 4 1/2 rounds to 5 so it gets a 5 anyway.
Defensive Offensive. rent the game first to see if you'll like.

ToeJam & Earl III Average Customer Review: Video Game (25 October, 2002) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review The Toe Jam & Earl franchise is an anomaly to the trend of hyper-realism and violence in video games, and this latest addition to the series excels at creating another gloriously fun and wacky cartoon experience. The goal of Toe Jam & Earl III: Mission to Earth is to recover the stolen Twelve Sacred Albums of Funk by exploring various levels on Earth, befriending Earthlings, and finding keys and presents to aid in the journey. The real fun of the game, however, is its funk theme. You can convert unfunky Earthlings to the ways of funk, and there are inspired funky touches throughout the game, including a gospel vocal trio that sings whenever a new level loads. The game doesn't take itself seriously, and to enjoy it, a competitive gaming mindset should be set aside. In two-player mode, the game promotes teamwork by allowing players to share health (just high-five each other) and immunity to attacks. The game's combination of 80s funk and overall goofiness won't appeal to everyone, but it's an ideal mix for parents in search of a game that they can enjoy with their kids (the game is rated Teen for animated blood and violence, but the gore is all cartoonish) and anyone else with an offbeat sense of humor. --Sung Nicholas Kim Pros:
