4-0 out of 5 stars NnyCW for Capcom City
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis adds a nice touch to the Resident Evil formula. Not only do you have to deal with oncoming hordes of zombies, but now you have another worry...being chased by a Nemesis that will come after you no matter what you do to try and stop it. The addition of Nemesis made this game one of the most enjoyable, and my favorite of the Resident Evil\'s. The addition to now be able to walk up stairs without pressing a button really did help way back when, though wondering how that was ever not a feature in the games is a bit of a puzzlement. And on the subject of puzzles, the only flaw this game has is the \"water puzzle\" near the end of the game. Only because it is totally random. Meaning you can get lucky and solve it in 20 seconds, or it could take about 30 minutes to beat. But other than that, this is a great game that any Resident Evil fan should have in their collection. NnyCW for CapCity.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever!
This is another great installment to the Resident Evil series. The graphics are great and so is the gameplay. The final boss is awesome and the plot is well done.

4-0 out of 5 stars it excellent

Editorial Review

Visual Concepts created a huge stir with the original NFL 2K--thefirst football video game that actually looked like you were watching a game onTV. NFL 2K2, the third game in the series, still features themind-boggling graphics, stunning player animations, and great play modes of theoriginal. And, despite an often frustrating passing engine, it's still one ofthe best sports simulations around.

You can play as any NFL team in a variety of modes: practice, tourney, exhibition, season, playoffs, franchise, fantasy, tutorial, and network (againstup to seven other players nationwide). The franchise mode is again one of thegame's strengths, as it offers a variety of scouting and free agency options, letting you customize your roster as a general manager based on the statisticsand financial demands of actual players. Now you can learn what the WashingtonRedskins already know--the salary cap is a cruel mistress.

The player animations are again the star of the show. There are literally dozensof potential endings to any collision in NFL 2K2, from stumbling fiveyards after a shoestring tackle to spinning dizzily between two linebackers tosomersaulting through the air after stretching for a catch over the middle. Andalthough the tackles can be spectacular, the game doesn't betray its simulationroots by making them too extreme. These aren't torn from the comics pages, as insome games.

Sega Sports has talked up its new passing system quite a bit, and it is bothchallenging and intriguing--perfect for the hard-core simulation expert.Unfortunately, the rest of us are left struggling to complete 5 to 10 passes agame. Essentially, the game asks players to expertly anticipate routes and timethe receiver's catch. This is no easy task in a fast-moving game such as this,as receivers routinely drop wide-open passes on the rare occasions they do getopen, and you'll find your primary receiver blanketed by two or more defensivebacks on most plays. The passing engine isn't overwhelmingly flawed, but averagegamers will need some serious time to overcome the Ravens-like pass defensethey'll face early on.

The running game was the original NFL 2K's main weakness, and it remainsthe single biggest improvement over the evolution of the series. Sometimesrunning between the tackles in NFL 2K2 can be a tad too easy and runningoutside can be too challenging, but the game rewards players who see holesdevelop and are adept at cutbacks.

It's the small details, though, that make NFL 2K2 the sports simulationtriumph that it is. The commentary--although still prone to calling turnoversincorrectly--is first rate, the on-field player dialogue is highly entertaining, and even the stadium music and crowd chants add to the atmosphere rather thanannoy.

The game isn't necessarily worth an upgrade for people who already own NFL2K1, as the improvements aren't dramatic (unless updated rosters are yourmain concern). But for football fans who want one of the best-looking sportssimulations ever made--and who don't mind the initial frustration of lousyquarterback ratings--NFL 2K2 is a Hail Mary come true. --RiversJanssen

Pros:

  • Unbelievable graphics, yet again
  • Extremely responsive gameplay
Cons:
  • Gamers must have genuine football skills to complete a pass
  • Improvements from NFL 2K1 are minimal

5-0 out of 5 stars simply the best
this game is great i played it for hours the best football game you can play 5 star all the way its better than nfl 2k3 it is i bet you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun but lots of room to improve
THE GOOD
Physics and control are almost perfect
The load times are kept to a bare minimum
Announcers are not annoying
The franchise mode
As fun as football gets

THE BAD
Stat tracking is very innaccurate (especially your punter)
Pro Bowl tracking isn't even close to accurate sometimes
It's either too easy or too hard, middle difficulty is still easy
DB's [bad] at picking off the ball and play the ball even if his back is facing to the play
Announcers repeat and contradict themselves constantly

I love this game and recommend this to anyone

4-0 out of 5 stars NFL 2k2 FAQS/Comments
The main reason bought this game is for the online plau and the fantasy draft that you can play offline. The isnt hard offline enless you play with ALL PRO which isnt super hard just like the REAL NFL. Hell I can beat the Oakland Raiders with Cencenatti Bengals. For those of you think its impossible to catch and get away from the d-line then use the Vikings since they are the games mascot you can see Randy Moss on the front of the cover so if you play with the Vikings you ell basically hae to try you can throw to Cris Carter since this man has a excelent catch he never drops even when he ges tackled just right he stll holds onto the ball.

One my favorite things about this game is the ability to throw bullets or pop ups its your choice but pop ups are more likely to be intercepeted. Bullets are the best to avoid a defender also note if you try hail mary a bullet it will be pretty crooked far reach from the reciever. The best team to do hail marys is the Rams and Vikings since they have atleast one fast reciever and when there fast you just chuck that ball way out there like a 70 yard throw and you think you over throw to Randy Moss or Isacc Bruce but they smoke almost all dbs and wide open to make the catch if it isnt overthrown.

The graphice are amazin like NFL 2k1 all the same moves but require strategy since they canged the way they juke. Well in nfl2k1 you can just pull a juke move and most likely joke al the time with a group of deffender you can get away with this is what [made me mad] in NFl2k1. Now we have NFL2k2 and wel none of the Bullcrap no more since when you sped you recver or running back sows down to make the spins or break the tackle.

My most favorite thing is to to a Full NFL Fantasy Draft. i like to choose my players win by one witht he cpu alos taking a few of the good ones makes it challenging and in th eend you can see your stats for yu off and def then you start a fl seaon with the players you choosen the they keep track off eerything including who goes to the probowl.

The online play is great! The only thing is when you play with someone your connection affects the game in a way like when you throw the ball to a wide reciever he most likey drop it since the people online just tackle them before it happens I have done it too but when i do it offline its pass interfernce maybe this happens because of 56k modem since I have gotten way with that tackle the guy to make hiim drop trick. Well the online is pretty good if your isp is good has a ranking system and also keeps track of how many wins and losses you have.

I give NFL2k2 4 stars since the online play. I never like it when people quit when are about to get a win. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Looking for some good car combat? Vigilante 8: 2ndOffense introduces Dreamcast owners to their first vehicular combatgame, and it's a worthy debut at that. Treacherous transportationoptions include futuristic cars and '70s relics, among other eclecticofferings. Each vehicle has a special weapon, and players can pick upthese weapons, along with napalm, missiles, shields, and tire add-ons oneach of the game's eight levels.

Taking place in the late 1970s (where the series debut, Vigilante8, left off), two ex-Vigilantes--Convoy and Houston--have beenkidnapped. Will their friends be able to save them? There are alsonumerous other subplots, including an escaped space chimp that chases analien garbage man and a cybercop chase involving an evil oil baron.

Quest mode offers a unique story for each character. There are multipleendings to discover as well as multiple vehicles waiting to be unlockedupon completion of each level's three objectives. Vigilante 8: SecondOffense features an arcade mode, a survival mode, and a multiplayermode, where up to four friends can compete. --Robb Guido

Pros:

  • Same homicidal driving action from PlayStation version
  • Impressive graphics
Cons:
  • Control is more slippery than in the PlayStation version

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW, This is just as fun as Spawn
Spawn for dreamcast is an excellent game where you battle against other players using multiple weapons. Vigilante 8 is just about the same concept, but you use cars rather than people.

There are secret codes that make the game a lot more fun. You enter these codes on the options menu. There are codes for rapid fire, all secret cars, and all secret levels. These codes can be found on most game websites for free.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best for 4 player fun
Vigilante 8 is a lot like Twisted Metal, but lacks, of course, the updated graphics in the more recent TM games. However, the 4 player head to head game is the one we always play when we have guests over. The learning curve isn't too steep, the physics are reliable, and overall it makes it competitive and fun for everyone. Also, the cooperative play is a joy.If I bought this game as an indvidual I would give it a so-so rating. But, for me, it's always been hard to find a solidly performing, fun multi-player game that your friends can get into. And, for me, I haven't found a better one than Vigilante 8.

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the PS or 64 versions
I know sega, and they cut so many corners, i have the 64 version and it's graphics can't be beat, especialy on high res. The PS version looks great with smooth texture mapping on the PS2. The Dreamcast is a 128 bit system, but it has Nintendo 64 graphics, it looks no better, sometimes a lot worse. It sure can't compeat with the PS2, but some 64 games on high res look close to early PS2's graphics. If you want a 64 bit Sega system, get a Saturn, it has much better graphics than the PS, but not as many games. ... Read more

Sega's Virtua Striker was supposed to be the Dreamcast'sfirst great soccer game, but as it turns out, Striker Pro 2000outplays the opposition with lively on-field action and a wealth ofoptions to boot.

Striker Pro will wow soccer fans with 130 teams from the bestEuropean leagues as well as from all over the world. There are threelevels of competition from national to international cup play, whichcan be unlocked once players prove in their worth in training mode.

Striker Pro scores early with its options, letting playersadjust weather conditions, injury time, and penalty settings as well astoggle between the analog and digital control pads. Speed anddifficulty can also be bumped up to taste. On the field, teams play up,back, or somewhere in the middle, with the score often determining ateam's formation. Animations and graphics are Dreamcast quality, andthe control is intuitive. In fact, we'll go so far as to say thatStriker Pro 2000 is the most perfect soccer video game thatwe've played thus far. --Robb Guido

Pros:

  • 130 teams and three different cup modes
  • Flawless control and a helpful training mode

  • Weak commentary could have been improved

1-0 out of 5 stars Why torture yourself
Someone below wrote that it dosen't get better...but it does UEFA Dream Soccer is WAY better and is a Dreamcast soccer game worth a purchase

5-0 out of 5 stars It can't get better than this.
Striker Pro 2000 is the best soccer game other than Fifa 2002 on Gamecube. Too bad the players aren't real players, though. But you get a whole bunch of international and European club teams. Practiceand training is pretty boring. Passing, kicking, slides, chest traps, and even bicycle kicks are all realistic. You can play in the snow or rain, day or night. Being a goalie is fun once you save and catch the ball. But be careful not to score for yur opponents. The gameplay is very realistic and so is everything else. So, buy it and enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great soccer game for the Dreamcast
Ever since my purchase of the Sega Dreamcast I was hoping that Sega Sports would make World Cup Soccer 2K2 or something like that in there great sports series, but they did not make one and I was very disappointed. But then I came across Striker Pro 2000. The game sounded great, had amazing graphics and cost only 15 dollars!

Once I got the game I was amazed by the realistic gameplay, graphics and the little things that make soccer so much fun. When you first get this game there are about 25 or so European teams you can choose from including Manchester, Muchen, Monaco and many others. There are also 72 international teams including Brazil, USA, Germany, France, and Argentina that you have to ulock by completing all of five of the challenging practice stages. You can also create up to eight teams and create players to up-date the teams.

There are a few things that are flawed in this game. The announcers are good but their intro to the game is always the same and they aren't very interesting. Also the goalies are very dumb and you can easily score 3 or 4 goals each game.

Overall this is by far the best soccer game on the Dreamcast. I highly recommend this game for soccer fans around the world. ... Read more

Maximum Pool

4-0 out of 5 stars Very lifelike, but not as much entertainment as expected.
I must say, a very well job done with the graphics of the balls, tables, and maybe even the cue sticks. You can set up the ball to go almost precisely where you want it to in 7 different games. You can easily unlock 5 more and get even more. Billiards is fun, the rocket launcher is fun, and the 24 cents game is fun and the graphics are all incredible, but the rest, we need a little more entertainment. But still, it's the only pool game found on Dreamcast and you probably couldn't make it much funner than this, anyway, so, a good bargain it is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Maximum Pool is a great pool game for any system!
Maximum Pool is worth the time and money for all ages. It's very easy to learn. I like the comments of Jim, Amy, Linda, and Buddy, although Brad is a bit rude! This game has 7 games. When you beat each of the characters in the highest level, you unlock 5 more games. Then to unlock 5 new shaped tables for the 5 new games, beat them in the highest level again. My favorite game is the unlockable 24 cents. It's very addictive, and if your being crushed by your opponent, you caneasily comeback by sinking dimes and the quarter. The graphics and the realistic play are unbelievable. You can either use guidelines or not. What cracks me up is when the woman screams sometimes when the ball flies
off the table. I really don't know why I didn't give this 5 stars. Maybe it's just not perfect, but extremely fun indeed!

2-0 out of 5 stars 10 minutes of fun
I have recently bought this game, and i was really thinking it was going to be fun. I like pool, when I personally play, but the game plays the game for you. It is not a challange, and after 10 minutes you will put it away and move on. My suggestion is to save your money and by something that you know you will enjoy! ... Read more
