    Editorial Review

This is a happy, noisy toy that should amuse most toddlers. Everything that can be touched reacts in some way, from a trombone-playing frog to a book that sings the alphabet. Our favorite is the colored keyboard that sings each color you press. The tabletop can be placed on the floor for those still in the crawling phase, or can sit on the included legs for a sturdy surface and leaning spot for little ones who are new to walking. If there is any fault with the Learning Table, it may be that it has too many features: each element of the table reacts in two different ways, depending on whether it's in Learn Mode or Music Mode. (Modes are switched by flipping the page of the book mounted in the center of the table.) Though this means more fun stuff for kids to hear, the mode concept is not one that they can be expected to understand, and the effect of the toy's inconsistent reactions is likely to be confusion. --David Stoesz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars - Baby's Favorite Toy! -
I bought this toy for my twins when they were 6 months old.I thought it looked like no big deal for the price. But I read the reviews and it was so highly rated, I figured I'd give it a try.Well, I base almost all of my baby toy purchases on amazon reviews now. They were right on the money!

My twins absolutely LOVE this table. It helped them when they were learning to pull themselves up on things. And the constant standing up and down, playing with this toy...has made them so strong and confident on their feet.I was worried that it wouldn't be sturdy enough when they pulled up on it.But it sure is sturdy.Very solid and well built.

And it keeps them entertained for awhile! They play with it for at least an hour total each day.I'll spread out a bunch of toys and they still go to this learning table first. And then to the other toys...and then back to the table. They can't get enough of it!They just love to turn the page of the book...over and over again. It's so amazing to watch and see how they have learned to spin the maraca, flick the banjo, pull down on the violin, push the trombone and open/close the lid.Even after 5 months of playing with this toy, they still enjoy it.That's money well spent!

    This is a must have!

5-0 out of 5 stars Toy for the Movies!
I used this in the movie for the little girl during a scene were she had to play with it to make her laugh and smile and it worked great! She smiled and laughed. It was the perfect scene!

5-0 out of 5 stars My 8 month old's FAVORITE!!
I got this toy when my daughter was six months old.She wasn't pulling up on things yet, so I left the legs off and she played with it on her tummy.A month later (when she did start pulling up in things) I put the legs on, and it's the first toy she goes for.She plays with it ALL the time.I would say this toy is by FAR her favorite. She'll play with it for hours (with tiny little breaks to rest her legs) But it's always been the first toy she goes for in the morning, and the last she plays with at night. Definetly worth the money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars motivated our preemie to sit-up.
Our 3-month early preemie was sitting up with lots of assistance until introduced to this toy at 4.5 months adjusted age. She loved this toy so much she learned to sit up just to play with it. 2 months later she'll sit at it unattended for over half an hour.
This was our best toy purchase ever!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for a phase
Our daughter got several sets of the blocks and this wagon for her first Christmas, at 6+ months. At first, the adults got all the enjoyment of it. We would make the wheels go round, the lights go, the sounds boing and sing. She liked watching us, and would play with it for a while. Her favorite part was putting the blocks through the little hole, like a shape sorter. She certainly couldn't spin the little parts inside the blocks.

Our 4-year-old neighbor played with it too -- not only with the blocks, but turning it into a parade float ;-)

Within a year, our little girl was tired of it. It's now at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and I don't think she's played with it for a while. Maybe she'll go back to it some time. But boy, those memories of Grandpa playing with it by himself are priceless!

This is my son's favorite toy.He started showing interest in it at about 7 months and now he could play with this toy all day and never gets tired of it!He loves to put the blocks in the slots in the wheel and turn the wheel.I don't know what we would do without it!! ... Read more

    3-0 out of 5 stars A Nice Idea . . .
My friends and I agree that these blocks are really appealing to US, but our children don't seem to find them that interesting. It's hard to stack more than 2, and while the themes are fun, they just haven't been a big hit.We own many of the Peek a Block sets, including the circus train, and I will say that the sounds and barnyard animals are the favorites. My son is nearing age 2, and we still get the blocks out to play, but they don't have the same appeal that the Fisher Price farm/zoo/playground sets have--or even basic nesting/stacking toys.I would recommend you test drive this toy with your child before you invest in them--as colorful and fun as they seem to be.

2-0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money!
My 18month old son was not impressed with these blocks...he loves his Imaginarium wooden blocks. They are not as easy to stack than the wooden. I thought they were cool, but maybe he will find more interest in them later on.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of all the sets for an almost toddler
I went peek-a-block crazy when my daughter turned 6 months.Of all the sets littering the house/diaperbag/truck/grandmas these two are some of the best for a younger child.

The barnyard set can be used along with the baby MacDonald video from baby einstein to teach barnyard animals. The animals are a nice mixture of movemebt and noise, especially the 'mud' in the pig block.

The sounds sensation blocks are also very captivating and make noice without being loud enough to be headache makers. My Daughter recently figured out one with a rocker style switch and loves making it go plonk now.

These blocks have yet to be destroyed by my husband who has stepped on more than a few of them accidently in his work boots. For price and long term use these are wonderful!

one fair warning, they are addictive :) but luckily are priced so that you really can get them all.

My daughter is now ten months old and loving her peek-a-blocks more each day. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toys!
This was bought for my 3 month old son. He's now 6 months and has just become interested in them. They are perfect for his little hands and mouth to explore. He loves the different colors and textures. Highly recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Such a Disappointment
We were so excited to get these blocks for our 6 month old son for Christmas. They are so cute and have all these really neat toys to put them in and drag them around and such.My son is now 8 months old and has never played with them.We also take care of a 10 month old little boy and he is also un-interested.I can't say anything bad about the toys because I still think they are really cute, but my kids just don't really care for them.

5-0 out of 5 stars these are great toys
We bought my 4 month old son a few sets of these Peek-a-blocks for christmas, including the dump truck and train. He's not quite into them yet, as he's just mastering the grabbing skills. But until he grows into playing more, my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves these! She plays with all the blocks, which entertains both her and her brother, who watches her.Despite another review, the edges on the toys are perfectly rounded. That was a big concern of mine, with 2 young children.but i've felt all the blocks edges, and they arent one bit sharp.

I highly recommend these! They arent too expensive, and kids of all ages love them! ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite!
My 10 month old has always loved this Giraffe. She likes to explore it, so it falling over is not a problem. She pokes her fingers in the large square holes on the sides, and like to push the button that plays the music. She also loves to grab the handle on top. Of course, she likes the blocks tumbling down too. Besides play a few musical notes, it doesn't do much, but she just loves it!

2-0 out of 5 stars Tumbling is right
I bought this Giraffe for my 8 month old who liked to take things out and was beginning to put things into containers.Well, the Giraffe falls down before he gets a chance to put the blocks into its mouth--someone has to sit next to him and hold the giraffe steady. However he loves playing with the blocks and throws them into a plain sand bucket.Skip the giraffe and just get the blocks.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not impressed
This toy is cute, but that's about it.I expected the blocks to actually "tumble" down the giraffe, perhaps in a zig-zag fashion. But they don't; they just "drop" straight to the bottom. There's a button at the bottom that plays a cute little tune when the block hits the bottom, but that's all this toy does. I guess I just expected more from it. We returned it. As a side note, we also got the Peek-a-Blocks Train and both my girls LOVE it! Costs a little more than the giraffe, but is worth it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love all the peek a blocks
I got this for my son for christmas when he was 14 months old . He has a lot of the peek a blocks toys. He really likes this truck. He likes putting the blocks in and dumping them. He will play with it for a while and he is picky about his toys. The dump part however does come off easy and I do wish that part was made better because it does get annoying haveing a 1 year old keep bringing it to you to put back together. And he gets mad at it cause he trys to put it back together and he cant. But I dont regret buying it. It was a good deal for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars My kids LOVE this
My 10 month old twins love this. We received it as a gift with an extra set of blocks. Yes, the blue and green part of the truck come off easily but that is part of the fun for my babies. They love taking it apart and I put it back together - no big deal. Even without those pieces on the truck they like to push it around. The music is not annoying at all and does have two settings. The wheels even hold blocks so when you put them in and they push the truck, the blocks make noise. Each block has something different inside but most of them have something that rattles. My babies love to play with the blocks as well, even without the truck. They love it when we stack them and the can push them all down. I definitely recommend this toy.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cheap dump truck
It seemed like a good idea when I bought it but my 10 mo old easily ripped off the back of the truck in the first couple minutes out of the book.

I put it back together and it just comes off again within seconds.

It makes a good noisy truck not a dump truck. Its one saving grace is a volume switch for quiet, loud, and no sounds.

I don't like how the block holder for the driver's head doesn't hold it as well, but the wheels can easily pop in blocks for some extra rattling effect.

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and educational
We have the Baby Einstein Gift Pack volume 1, that includes 4 tapes - Baby Bach, Baby Newton, Baby Shakespeare and the Language Nursery. It has been a month since my 10 month old daughter started watching these. In fact, her TV time every day is pretty much just the Baby Einstein video time. She started out plainly surprised and it was not clear how she felt about them. Now she is much much more expressive...she loves them! She is actually seeing a lot of things that I teach her using a book. I think her reaction to the different moving colors, shapes and objects is very much along the lines of what effect itwas intended to generate in a baby. I watch it with her every time and use it as a tool to teach her a lot of common things. Baby Newton and Baby Shakespeare are very educational. Baby Bach is a delight to watch for her and she particularly enjoys the music. However we did not quite relish the Language Nursery. For babies and kids, I think it is a little too early to hear so many confusing foreign noises, when they are actually still trying to communicate using one or may be two languages . Also, some videos overuse a few toys. There is a repetitive display of certain unappealing toys. Watching my daughter watch it every day, I am convinced that it is worth every penny. I would strongly recommend it to any parent who would like to teach and have some fun TV time with his/her baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars baby mind catching
My son absolutely loves the baby einstein videos. I'm so glad that they have come out with some wonderful toys and such for little minds to expand. They are without a doubt awesome. I recommend them to everyone. Even those of my friends that don't have babies yet!

The person with the 2 separate negative ratings (1 star) is absolutely nuts!!!Maybe someone should tell them that you can't just sit your child in front of the t.v. for hours on end by themself to watch these. These dvd's are not meant to be babysitters!

I have 13 of the baby einstein dvd's, 6 of the cd's and 4 of the books! My 10 month old daughter adores each and every one of them. They are very fun, musical, colorful and a great way to introduce your child/ren to different things.Great learning tools for you to watch/listen to with your child.I would recommend these to anyone with children!!

My daughter is now 9 1/2 months old, and has been watching these 4 DVD's for the past 4 months or so.She absolutely loves them! They keep her totally captivated. There are times that she gets so preoccupied that I can not get her to drink her bottle, but as soon as I put one of these DVDs on, she'll calm down and drink her bottle while watching the entire video.I swear by them!I am now expecting my 2nd child, and looking into buying more of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous baby fun!
My 1 year old absolutely loves all of the Baby Einstein videos!! I don't know what I'd do without them. They are baby eye friendly and full of wonderful music, colours and educational information that your baby can process. I know it may look a little hokey but you have to think of it from your baby's point of view. They are simple images that their little eyes and brains can process easily without flipping back and forth constantly from image to image like kids cartoons on tv. I also love that they introduce other languages and music to my child. They say that the more a child hears other languages the easier it will be for them to learn different languages later on. My daughter is just in love with them and so am I!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
I have read scathing reviews on how Baby Einstein is a rip-off, and that it is a waste of money to buy these videos. I have found while babysitting that every child I watch from 3 months to 4 years finds something of interest in the videos and cds. It has also been written that these are bad for children because they just sit and stare at them, when clearly if these parents had watched the entire video and listened to the explanation at the end of the movie telling them that these videos were meant to be used for interaction WITH their children not as substitute entertainment and education. And while these videos are entertaining to small children, they do get a little monotonous for adults, but what child's toy doesn't begin to annoy you after about the tenth time you hear it's song or read the same silly story that your child loves so much because you do the same silly voices while you read it that you've done the last twenty times you read it for them. These videos and cds also have wonderful soft music and sounds fit for babies' sensitive hearing and is very soothing to not only them but you. Studies show that children exposed to different kinds of music, especially classical, show a higher use of advanced brain waves than children that aren't. Studies also show that any positive interaction with your baby advances them socially and emotionally over children that are ignored. The Baby Einstein company also makes books and toys that can be used to advance your babies in other ways. So I feel that this company is exploring every avenue of development for small children. I may not have children of my own yet but all the babies I take care of love these videos and cds, and I intend to purchase them and use them WITH my own children someday. ... Read more

I am a huge fisher price little people fan.
I grew up in the 70's.I still have some of them from when I was little. This set is adorable! It is the Perfect Birthday present that I bring out every year as part of my christmas decorations.
The best part is My little ones can't break it.

4-0 out of 5 stars We like it but...
There was no clear description that this one wasn't the one that had the music, which is the one I wanted.Don't get me wrong, the product itself is great.I'm very happy that I have it for my children, and I hope it turns into one of those little traditions that they enjoy.I think knowing that there are 2 similar products that could be easily confused, Amazon could have clearly stated this as a non-musical or base model toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun!
We purchased this set for my son Christmas 2003.He loves it.The age range on the listing is off, though. It should be the same for any of the Little People toys - 12 or 18 months and up.There are no small parts.Highly recommended and fun during the holidays or any time!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute....
I bought my 2 1/2 yr old son this for Thanksgiving last year & it was very cute.I agree about the white packaging with loose Little People & accessories; I would have loved to have the white package. Mine was in the regular package where you see what you get & it takes 30 minutes & two cut fingers to get it open.I don't know why Fisher Price feels the need to have twist ties on every piece, my son got bored waiting for me to open it.After I got it open it is very cute.We got extra people to go w/ it at Target, they come in Christmas tubes.I packed it away for next year, it'll be his very own Christmas decoration to put out while I decorate the house with the glass he can't touch.

4-0 out of 5 stars very cute
I find this set to be just a little more than my 14 month old can use right now.Although he loves all the pieces, he doesn't understand having the reindeer pull the sleigh and the houses are a little light-weight and the doors a little too small to really be easy for him to use.I think this will be a big hit next Christmas season.Oh, and ours came in the "hard-to-open" package (I hate those), not a white box. ... Baby Playzone Stride-to-Ride Walker
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Toy

US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Small children can enjoy this versatile toy through two development stages. Newly mobile babies can push the walker around: the easy-grip plastic handle keeps hands steady, while four wheels ensure the walker won’t tip over easily. A simple adjustment to the wheel legs turns the walking toy into a ride-on for older toddlers, with a wide seat for comfort and footrests to keep feet safe when an adult ends up steering. The sun-faced handle doubles as a backboard to a red plastic basket. Four balls are included, and youngsters can develop hand-eye coordination by tossing them into the basket. Aural stimulation is provided via the switch on the sun’s face, which offers low and high volume settings. When the sun’s nose is pushed or when the vehicle is in motion, one of two jazzy little tunes plays for about 10 seconds. For quieter play the music can be turned off. --Pam Lauer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
I bought this for my son when he was about 7 months old and just learning to stand up. At first we had to keep a hand on the toy to keep it from rolling away but before long he was walking along with no trouble. My husband and I believe this toy helped our son learn to walk and become independent. He is now 2.5 years and he still loves it.Its a great toy for outside riding, walking, and as my son does....ride it down the drive way.My husband hates the music but I don't mind it. It can get repeative but its easily turned off. Assembly was easy and if given the chance i'd buy this toy all over again. I think its far above similar models from other brands.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good value for your money.
I thought this was a great toy for my daughter, who is now 20 months and still plays with it. I originally got it for her when she was 9 months and it helped her walk. She enjoyed playing with the balls and dancing to the music. The music can tend to be loud and overwhelming, but can be turned off if necessary. She now loves to sit on it and ride it around the house. She still enjoys putting the balls in the basket and finding them in the back. I would definitely recommend this toy.
