This toy will make you want to take a nap. Equipped with straps that attach it to a crib, this play aquarium and music maker is the perfect thing to amuse a child or soothe them to sleep. There are three settings, depending on what kind of stimulation is needed: music only; music plus soft glowing lights; and music plus lights, bubbles, and moving fish. There are also three music options, the best one offering soft and melodic New Age fare, the other two somewhat odd, spacey versions of familiar lullabies. The music combined with the lights creates an instantly peaceful, soothing ambiance. There are a couple of buttons and doodads for baby to bat around that make the fish react in various ways. If these buttons were a little more responsive, this toy would be near perfect. --David Stoesz ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST PRODUCT OUT THERE!
My daughter cannot resist this!!!We've been working on getting her to sleep better at night, and if she's awake at all when we put her down, this takes care of it!She loves to watch the lights, and she calms down very quickly with this product. It's certainly helped my husband and I get some sleep!:)

    5-0 out of 5 stars Avery's Mom
This product is great. My baby is only six weeks old and has been mezmerized by it for two weeks. A must have for new moms.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't live without it
Bought this for my son and it is awesome. He is now 21 months and still enjoys playing with it and listening to all the different music it can make. When he was under a year, we would play the "ocean waves" sound to get him to sleep. It worked perfect because it simulates the womb. Now, that he is older, he chooses his own bed time song and knows how to turn it on and off.

The only drawback is that it does not have a remote control. It would have been nice when he was younger and it took longer than 15 miuntes to fall asleep, to be able to push a button from outside of the room to start the music over again. (maybe on the next version)

It does not go through as many batteries as I was expecting. The batteries seem to last a few months.

Overall - I would totally recommend this product and I am going to buy another one for our next son later this year. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This is a happy, noisy toy that should amuse most toddlers. Everything that can be touched reacts in some way, from a trombone-playing frog to a book that sings the alphabet. Our favorite is the colored keyboard that sings each color you press. The tabletop can be placed on the floor for those still in the crawling phase, or can sit on the included legs for a sturdy surface and leaning spot for little ones who are new to walking. If there is any fault with the Learning Table, it may be that it has too many features: each element of the table reacts in two different ways, depending on whether it's in Learn Mode or Music Mode. (Modes are switched by flipping the page of the book mounted in the center of the table.) Though this means more fun stuff for kids to hear, the mode concept is not one that they can be expected to understand, and the effect of the toy's inconsistent reactions is likely to be confusion. --David Stoesz ... My daughter got this table for Christmas when she was 6 months old. She wasn't standing yet so we took the legs off and put it on the floor for her to play with. She's been playing with it everyday since. She's now 11 months and still loves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars WE LOVE IT!!!
My MIL just bought this for our noq 21 month old sons two months ago, its terific! They love it and its by far the best house out there. WE use it every day and it holds up to much abuse, but we really bought it because it wasnt pink and frilly, a must with two BOYS

Our sons are still a little young to climb all over our very large wooden swing set, and we wanted more for them to play with, this house is just soo awsome. Its a little large, so I dont suggest you purchasing it for indoor use (especially since every side had an activity so it wouldnt be as fun against a wall). It can fit both my boys in it and the weather doesnt do any damage... we plan on covering it with a tarp in the winter though... before our sons go inside we wipe it down with dissinfected wipes and get all the little bugs out for them, no biggy...

    Now for all the extras!!!

    SPORTS SIDE->
    * Basket ball hoop, now we dont have to buy a little one that will just tip over anyway (we have one inside) and our sons love to play with it (they are only in the 32nd percentile) so its a bit tough to make a basket on the highest setting, it can adjust to the top of the house, or to right abouve the soccer net, great for toddlers or older children!!!
    * The soccer net also doubles as a little window and our sons really love to peek in and out of it... its very durable and there is no ripping in it *yet*... but they like it when my husband shows them to kick the ball inside, and it keeps the air flow throughout the toy house nice and fresh...
    * The little number game is cute, my sons dont understand it yet, but for older family and friends its a big hit

    SUPERMARKET->
    * A little ATM machine, so adorable and my sons cant get enough of it... although the older kids have more imaginative play with that part of the house
    * The little window alot of the younger toddlers enjoy, its one of their favorite parts of the house, all little kids love opening and closing things, yet again older kids like to make this a McDonalds drive in window or something... great fun
    * The big window makes it easy to see how the boys are doing inside, and it also keeps it nice and fresh, not too moldy and stuffy like some of the other houses, we like the big window

    GAS STATION->
    * The tunnel is a big hit wiht the toddlers, they like to peek through it, its my sons favorite way to get in! The older kids like to chase through it and try to "fly" through...
    * The little pump is great for kettrikes and cozy coupes, my sons and the other toddlers like putting it into the cars gas tank, they think thats cute, but the older kids sometimes pretend its a hose or something, very cute imaginations
    * The little telephone is a big hit with everyone, they love pretending with it and I usually find it everywhere but the base, but hey thats no biggy
    * YEt again more ventalation with the window... I think thats why this house doesnt get too much mold or little bugs... theres just no really dark and damp spaces!

    SCHOOL HOUSE->
    * Theres not too much to this side of the house, and it doesnt really look like a school, but the younger kids like slaming the door
    * The older kids make it a barn and like to pretend its a stable door, very very imaginative
    * EVEN MORE VENTALATION AND ANOTHER SPOT TO SEE EVERYONE, TWO BIG WINDOWS AND A BARN-DOOR...

This house is perfect for toddlers, and bigger kids (up to about 10-11ish) there are just endless possibilities for this house and everyone enjoys it... I always know theres something for EVERY one to have fun with outside... the perfect playhouse out there

5-0 out of 5 stars Our boys love it
My 15 month old twin boys (at the time) got this house for christmas! They are now 20 months, and since the weather got nicer, they REALY enjoy this house.

    * It is very big, and can hold about 4 kids in it
    * There is more than just a "house" to it
    * Its very durable and can withstand harsh weather
    * WE keep a tarp over it, so we dont get too many bugs and gross things in it
    * My boys love the little basket ball hoop, now we dont need to buy one separatly
    * The soccer net is adorable, but my boys love peeking through that
    * the little games on the outside of the house are just too great
    * Along with the wooden swingset, built in and kiddie pool, and the watertable, this is the "big" outdoor toy
    * The colors make it appropriate for boys and girls
    * It is VERY adorable, not too big or small
    * The price is a little steep, but we got a very good deal

We love this house, its soo much more fun than the others, as its got much more to it, its pleasing to the eye and my twins love it, I wouldnt trade it in for anyother one, never

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth the Money!
We bought this for my son's 1st birthday. He loves to be outside and we figured this would hold him until we bought a larger swing set later on. I can't say enough about it. He loves walking in and out of the door, opening and closing the window and laughing at the dog through the soccer net. My husband crawls in and our son walks around looking in all the windows and laughs. At his little party, his friends (ages 9 mos. to 3 years) all enjoyed inspecting it and looking in and out of the windows. The three year old tried to get them all to play school. I'm confident he'll play with this for several years. And we set it up in about 30 minutes. It does help to have a second person to hold things while the screws are put in. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for baby!!!
I just got this toy for my 9 month old daughter a few days ago and she loves it.There is so much to do so many activities. My daughter gets bored easily so this toy is wonderful. It keeps her busy time and time again.I do have one complaint though Fisher price makes you do all of the work to put together this toy.You don't get out of anything you have to screw on every part you could possibly think of.Some of the things could have been done eaisly during manufacturing. But it was well worth it.This is a great toy! And I think it will entertain her for a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOY!
I bought this for my son when he was nine months old.He loved it then and still loves it now that he is a year old.He plays with it everyday and is finding new things to play with on it as he gets older.I highly recommend this toy.It is a little bit of a pain to put together though.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring
We bought this when our daughter was 3 months old. Either She couldn't reach the toys or they were smacking her in the face. She couldnt make the music come on and she had no interest in any of the toys. She may like it when she can crawl and it turns into a tunnel but as a baby playmat its not worth it

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheap and no fun!
I was not impressed at all with this toy.It looks cheap, first of all, and was not entertaining at all for my daughter, who is now 8 months and has had it since birth. The two teething toys were cheap and looked like something you'd get in a happy meal. The ball was fine, but the only toy really worth the money is the octopus, and it hangs too high up to be any fun-- my daughter couldn't reach it until she could sit up alone, and by then she wasn't interested anymore.I wound up buying a Gymini, and then removing the octopus from this toy and putting it on the Gymini. There are far better playgyms-- don't waste your money.

Baby Tad is a wonderful interactive toy that makes early learning fun andeasy. Baby Tad (short for tadpole) helps your preschooler learn shapes, colors, activities, and songs. When your little one presses a colored light-up button, Tad identifies the colorand shape indicated on the button. With his cheerful demeanor and infectious laugh, Tadoffers support and encouragement and will quickly become a close and trusted friend.Besides various greetings,a squeeze of Tad's hand brings forth favorite children's songs, sung in a squeaky, high-pitched voice. --Alison Golder ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to push buttons, turns off quickly
My 10-month old daughter always smiles when I bring out Baby Tad, but in my opinion the toy is not very well designed for babies. The buttons, embedded in fabric, are really hard for her to push. After a few seconds of not having any buttons pushed, Baby Tad turns off automatically, bringing a quick end to playtime unless I'm sitting there with her pushing the buttons. Could have been a great toy, but I think they missed the boat.

I gave my granddaughter this toy on her first birthday, hoping it was not too young for her Every time I have seen her, she has been playing with it.She is 22 months and this time she started singing songs from it (unbeknownst to me). When I started singing with her, she brought it over and we sang every song together. What a perfect toy - colors, shapes, songs!

4-0 out of 5 stars cute and playful but not for a 6 month old

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow! My daughter loves her ABC's!
My daughter received this as a gift when she was too young (24 months old) for it.I held it off to the side for 6 months & then finally decided to give it to her right before she started preschool.

She loves to sing her ABC's now.The Fridge Phonics set reinforces the letter she is learning in school. We bought her a carry case for the letters & fridge magnet. She will carry it around & change the letter whenever she's in the mood.

I think this is one of the best educational toys out there for the alphabet. It tells the child the name of the letter, the sound(s) it makes & a few words.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great learning toy
We have had this on our fridge for about 5 weeks now and my grandson loves to play with it, he now says the sounds before the little machine tells you the sound.

It is made very sturdy as my grandson has already had the peices thrown all over the place and the little machine too and there is no sign of any hard play with it, it still looks brand new.

My husband and I bought this house for our sixteen month old for christmas. He loves it!!We have a little couch in it for him and he'll go in there and sit on the couch and talk on the phone or to his stuff animals. It's great for the imagination and it's big enough for my husband and I to go in it and play with him.The only downside is that it gives him a place to hide when bedtime comes around!

5-0 out of 5 stars My girls totally love this!
After looking at about 20 playhouses and reading about a million reviews, we bought this for our 3 and 1 year old daughters. It's a good thing, because they LOVE it! It was very easy to assemble, my husband and step-son put it together in about a half hour. It's in our living room! All of our kids (from ages 1 to 11) LOVE to play in it. We put our daughter's play kitchen in it too and now it's even more like "mommy's house" We don't use the phone feature too often, but the kids don't mind. They read stories in there, play "house" and just about anything else you can think of. It can fit my 4 kids in there, but then nobody can move. However, for just two of them, it works out fine. They also play "McDonalds" with the stove/table feature. It's so cute! I absolutely recommend this play house for anyone who's not sure which to get. It's sturdy, easy to assemble and fun for all ages.

Toys that grow with your child from infancy to toddlerhood are well worth their cost. The Classical Chorus Gym is one such toy, allowing your child to explore music at every stage of his development. As an infant, your child can lay on his back and bat at the hanging toys while the keyboard plays 10 different classical or nursery melodies, some with a children’s chorus. You can set the music to play continuously for up to 10 minutes, or only when your child successfully hits a toy, teaching him cause and effect. When your child learns to sit, the keyboard adjusts with him to the proper height, and then adjusts one more times to accommodate a standing or walking child. At these stages, you can set the music to play part of a song when your child presses a key or let your child experiment with scales and individual notes. The keyboard’s "singing" stars light up as music plays to further delight budding musicians. The Classical Chorus Gym requires three "C" batteries for operation. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for all ages!
I love this toy!Someone bought it for us when our baby was born. She's been using it since she was about 2 months old and had enough control of her arms and legs to bat at the toys that hang down. She is now 6 months and sitting up so I converted it so the sitting stage and she still plays with it all the time. When she was learning to sit up it was great too because she would keep her balance by hanging onto the keys and "playing" music. My nephew is 18 months and he still plays with his everyday. This is the only toy that has consistently captured her attention and she will play with this toy for at least 20 minutes at a time.

4-0 out of 5 stars could be better designed
My main problem with this toy is it confuses my four month old.He hits a key, and a star above the key lights up.So he hits the star, and nothing happens. It's a small thing, but this toy would be so much better if either the keys lit up, or if he could hit the star and have it make a noise too.
I love how easy it is to set this up.The legs come off and on very quickly. My son can't sit up on his own yet, so I take the legs off the keyboard, prop him up against me, and have him play. And I really like the large variety of music.I think this is a pretty good toy, and definitely worth $30.

I haven't read all 42 reviews so this may be a repeat. We have found it necessary to shore up the middle of this wonderfully entertaining toy. We've had it on our patio since early spring of 2004 and it has had a lot of use but the center started to sag.We found a large flower pot that measured the exact height and just pushed it under the center.Works like a charm and we should get many more years of fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars We Love this !!!
I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old son and he loves it . Actually we all love it ! My 10 , 8 and 5 and 3 year olds had more fun with this than I think anything we have ever bought . This is much better than a typical sandbox which they love but can't all play in at the same time. All four of my kids pulled up a chair around the table and had a blast and plenty of room !They played for at least 2 hours and didn't even want to come in then . It was a bit messy but what can you expect . Anything can be put in here to spark imagination .You don't have to just use sand and water .The possibilities are endless ! This is going to be a life saver this summer . This was money well spent . I would recommend this to anyone .
It was easy to put together and I feel the legs were very sturdy . I didn't even put the screws in it because I like the idea of being able to take them out to store it over the winter unless we bring it in for the winter.I just made sure I pushed them all the way in. Ialready cleaned it out and tipped it over to rinse it and had no trouble with the legs coming loose or out or anything . I am saving the screws just in case I need them later !
This is an awseome , awesome table !! We love it !!! ... Read more

What's the No. 1 group dance for the pre-school set? Hint: it's not the "Electric Slide" or "Cotton-Eyed Joe." You guessed it, and so did Elmo: the "Hokey Pokey." Though Elmo doing the "Slide" would be a sight to see, he masters the Pokey quite convincingly, to the probable delight of his toddling fans. After loading his foot with four "AA" batteries, press his hand and he performs the popular jig. He sticks out both his right hand and foot, shakes his body all about, then smoothly spins in place, thanks to a rotating platform under one foot. Elmo even spices up the beat, and sporadically speeds up the action; both innovations crank up the fun factor. The only downside: he was de-plushed, presumably because of all the mechanisms needed to help him dance and maintain balance. The result, still, is an impressive performance. He's just not very cuddly. --Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My todler loves it!
I bought this for my son about two months ago. And I believe I must have gotten the most durable one. My 20 month old son was only dancing with him the first two weeks, until he discover that it's more fun to squeeze him, while he shakes, then throw him against the floor or wall. So far it has been over a month, and the Elmo is still singing, dancing, and saying oops or thank you. I would recomend this toy to any one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good times for kids
My 2 year old has this and loves it. He's already a huge fan of Elmo, so I'm sure that helps. The toy itself is rather neat since it pretty much does the hokey pokey. Elmo puts in his hand in, his leg in and he shakes all about, then he turns around in a circle. Doesn't work so good on carpet, better on smooth surfaces. The sound it good and lucky for us parents, the song doesn't last too long. If you tip him upside down he says "whoopsie!", and something about needing to be turned back upright. Cute toy. My son thinks Elmo is dancing with him. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

With a little help from a bigger friend (parent, guardian…), young children can launch into the world of learning via interactive books. Little Touch LeapPad is designed for tots 6 to 36 months, with three distinct levels of activities and stories: musical rhythms and sounds; short descriptive phrases; and rhymes and early learning. Stories or activity cards snap into the book frame, along with a story cartridge. Grownups will need to help little ones activate the book pages by touching the "Go" button every time a page is turned, as well as showing young "readers" how to touch pictures to make them come to life with developmentally appropriate narration and learning activities. A comfy cushion is attached to the LeapPad platform for cozy shared reading time. Four AA batteries required (not included). --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, poorly made, but a good idea
I wish this Leap Pad had lived up to its potential! I was so excited when it came out just in time for my 3rd child. My older two had greatly enjoyed Leappad products, and I was eager to start my youngest on them too.I bought the Little Touch and 3 book sets right away.My daughter was too young at first to try them.I first gave it a try when she was 6 months, and she had no interest. So I tried again at 9 months. This time she was VERY interested, but it was a totally frustrating time for her.She caught on right away she needed to touch the pages, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't touch hard enough. She broke into tears after a short time.I tried touching for her, but she has little interest in books unless she can hold and mouth them. She tried holding the pages, and badly wrinkled several of them. It's not really a fun learning experience when you are constantly saying "no"!

I do like the whole idea of this product, and I think that if they overcame some of the engineering problems, it would be quite nice.I like the different levels, so that you can just hear music, or hear simple phrases, or hear the whole book. The activity cards included with each book also seem a bit more heavy duty than the regular books, but they too greatly frustrated us in terms of being touchable!

I also question including Where the Wild Things Are as one of the books.I love the book, and my sons do too, but it's NOT a baby book---it's probably fine for 3 and up, but not really something a baby would relate to.I think it's a choice to draw in parents, not babies.

I might try the similar Fisher-Price product if I can find it for a low price.Sorry, Leap Pad!

2-0 out of 5 stars Also disappointed
My twin daughters got this product for their 1st birthday. We have tried to use it several times, but my daughters are more interested in playing with the on/off button and the volume button placed right on the front of the base than they are in listening and looking at the book.It would have been smarter for LeapFrog to have placed these buttons on the back or on the side where they would have been out of eye sight of little ones.I also agree that the touch pad isn't sensitive enough for little ones to push. It's a pain for even ME to get the different spots in the book to activate. However, I haven't had the troubles others have had with the pages ripping. They are made of a paper-type material, but have proven to be very durable. My daughters drag the leap pad around the house by the pages of the books and still haven't had one tear.BUT . . . the pages are very wrinkled making it hard to see the images and also causing the pages to no longer lay flat.My girls are now almost two and still don't care for the leap pad.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what it appears to be
I was highly disappointed with this. We bought this for my son at Christmas (16 months old then) thinking it would be a great educational toy for him to play with when I couldn't be sitting down with him (like when I'm cooking). We were terribly wrong! We have 2 friends who also bought this and are just as disappointed.

This is not a toy you can give a child and walk away. First, it's complicated to use for a toddler. Every time you turn a page, you must hit the green go button. RIGHT! Second, the books are made of paper and are pretty flimsy. Plus they are rather pricey for the cheap quality. Third, the setting that reads the story is so slow, my impatient toddler never lets me wait to turn the pages before the story is ready. Finally, I'm not pleased with the educational value of the books for the cost. I can buy books on shapes, color, numbers, etc myself and sit and go through the books with my son and he gets a lot more out of it.

Overall, I should have taken this (and the 5 books we bought) back and bought something else. ... Read more

It may not feature any loop-de-loops or terrifying hairpin turns, butpreschoolers will likely find this 10-foot-long roller coaster every bit asthrilling as grownups find the amusement park version. Molded in brightlycolored plastic, it's built for years of wear in either the backyard or theplayroom. The set's components fit together to form a downhill ride with anothersmaller hill about halfway through. What we loved most about this set is thefact that the individual parts are just as much fun as the fully assembled kit.The car, bright yellow with a sturdy handle, could just as easily be used aroundthe house if the child is too young for the coaster. And the ramp system isplenty of fun to roll cars, balls, or anything else. Perhaps our tiny toy testersaid it best: "Wheee!" --John Moe ... Read more

We bought the roller coaster for our grandson when he was just over a year old. He's now three and a half and still loves it.

It has been out in the backyard for all this time; it is somewhat faded but otherwise still going strong.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of Fun
My 20-month old absolutely loves this toy. It took me only 3 minutes to assemble and then he was riding down the ramp. After helping him push the Coaster car back up the ramp twice, I taught him how to do it himself. My son pushs the car up backwards then runs down the ramp and around to go up the step to get on.Then he rides down the roller coaster and starts all over.He played for hours and hours the first day and it is the first thing he does every morning now.He also uses it to roll balls down, play with his cars and trucks, etc.He loves it.The toy is true Step 2 quality and will last for years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big Smile
My son received this Up and Down roller Coaster for his 2nd Birthday. He LOVES it! I think the age they recommend is spot on (although we've had 7 year olds play on it as well, but at that age their legs get a little to long for it). My son can use this toy all by himself, once he was shown the proper procedure. It does take up a lot of space, but is very easy to assemble and take down. My son ask's to play with it fairly often "Ride Coaster Mommy". I'll leave it up for the day and he'll play with it on and off all day long. Be prepared for the HUGE smile your child will give when they ride it. ... Read more

My in-laws purchased this slide for my son's second birthday. He has enjoyed it quite a bit already. It's durable and not too big if you have a small space.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great slide and climber
I bought this for my twin girls who are almost 2.5 years old and they simply love this slide. I was trying to decide between this Hide and Slide Climber and the Kangaroo Climber and I chose this one, and I am glad I went with this slide. Six months ago my girls played on the Kangaroo Slide at a friend's house and loved it, but I found the Hide and Slide Climber to be better for older toddlers as they have to climb two steps to get on to the slide, and then the slide is higher and of greater length, so they can slide faster and longer. I would not recommend this slide for young toddlers (less than 2 years) but certainly for preschoolers, I think this slide is a great buy.

We bought this for our son when he was 3 months old because we were having trouble putting him to sleep in his crib at night. He loved it! We would do our nightly routine of reading a book, and then I would turn this on, lay him down and he would watch it until he drifted off to sleep. He's now 6 months old, and he still loves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars a goodnight sleep
I have to say that not only does my baby love this but the whole family does too. We will get ready for bed and turn the lights off and turn on the sounds and light projector and have our nightly dancing session with baby and my two older kids before laying him down. once baby is down my self, hubby and my girls would lay in bed looking at the adorable pictures move across the ceiling. It's a nice way of even getting our two older kids to clam down as well. a little dance, lay on bed and watch the lights and kids are off to their beds calm and soothed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!!!
The table is the perfect size for little ones, it easily fits six pre-schoolers.I bought this item for my two children (2 and 3 yrs old) and they absolutely LOVE it.We have the matching sand-box, which I also highly recommend.

The table surface is a rough, simulated-wood finish, but wipes clean easily. The table is very sturdy, the benches can support an adult, and the umbrella fabric is much better quality than I expected.

Assembly took about 10 minutes and is easier with two adults, one to hold the table in place, and one to install the (12) screws.I installed all the screws without pre-drilling any holes and used a manual screwdriver. It was not excessively difficult, although assembly would definitely have been easier had the batteries for my cordless drill been charged.I would not recommend attempting to assemble the table by yourself, although it can be done.

This is a great product for little ones and I would recommend it to anyone with a pre-schooler.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best table
This is the best kids table I've ever seen. The plastic won't give splinters like a wood table would. It is heavy duty so it won't tip over. The umbrella is tall and wide. This picnic-style table is perfect for small kids because there are not individual chairs for them to have to pull in and out and fumble over. They can easily step in and sit down without tripping or falling. It is comfortable seating for 4 small kids. But by the time they turn 6 years old, they will be too tall for this table. Buy it for your small ones. I'm extremely happy with ours!

5-0 out of 5 stars LOOOOOVE IT!!!
I just bought this for my kiddos and WE love it. As far as coloring goes and getting food or what not off the surface it really doesnt seem like a big deal to me. My daughter got this when she was three yrs old. She's 5 and half now and still has a ball playing in it with her girlfriends. They play house and sit at the table and eat lunch or play with Play Doh and just generally have a great time with it. We've had it over 2 yrs and it's holding up beautifully. We love the fact that we can see in and watch what the kids are doing and that it has a floor. I'd buy one again if I ever had a need for another playhouse.

3-0 out of 5 stars Still waiting for my son to like this.....
We bought the cottage for my son for Christmas, he was 20 months at the time. I thought he would just love it, but we are still waiting for him to catch on. The only thing he will do with it even now is go inside a play "peek" through the windows. My son tends to be a bit of a climber, and this is definitely not a climbing toy! I guess we will know better next year! One great point about this cottage is the floor! Most cottage/house toys don't have a floor and this one does, which makes it real nice to have on any type of surface without worrying about your little one's feet.

3-0 out of 5 stars Broke within 1 week
I bought this toy for my son.The toy broke within 1 week. The pond sticks and keeps saying the same thing over and over again, the blocks, when put into place, sing the same song, one short verse, over and over again.Unfortunately, the little birds get stuck saying the same things as well.It wasn't worth the money for us.My son does like the shapes though.Hope this is helpful as a lot of reviews have been for me.Thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another toy my baby loves
My daughter received this when she was 7 and a half months old, and still plays with it every day at over a year old. She lves the bee that circles around- I hear "bzzzzzzz...bzzzzzz...bzzzzzzz" quite often! She also loves to "splash" and hear the numbers (you press the "water" and the toy counts up to ten, one number at a time, each time you press it)....she also loves pressing the birds and hearing the baby and mommy bird talk to each other- they each say 3 phrases. You can also switch from learning mode to music mode.

My baby plays with this toy a lot and the batteries seem to last a long time for all that she plays with it, I'm not replacing batteries all that often. She likes this toy better than some other ones that are bigger and do more amazing things.

It seems like at over a year old, she is going to continue to play with this toy for awhile, so that gets the Seal of Approval from me, like I always say, read my other reviews, I have a Big Thing about getting my money's worth out of toys, and skipping over toys that will lose baby's interest in a short period of time. I like that my baby has played with this toy every day for 5 months and still loving it. For example, she played with her Dancing Bandstand for about a week before she got bored with it, and never goes to it any more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Toy with lasting value!
I got this toy when my baby could sit up and boy, did she love it! She smacked that water so many times, she couldn't get enough it. She liked to pull out the "flowers" and bite them, bang them together, throw them, you name it.

She then learned to walk shortly after buying it and I thought the toy would get no more use. But now she has learned to put the shapes back into the holes and loves to dance to the music.

It is also so sturdy, she sometimes picks it up and walks with it. And we've only changed the batteries once in 5 months. LOVE IT! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Note for Husbands
OK, here is a review from a guy who bought this thing for his daughter and nephew, and I think I ought to just make a quick comment to those husbands out there looking at this.On a side note, the one they sent me is not nearly as colorful as the picture in Amazon.com, no hot pinks or anything like that, mostly blue, dark green and tan.Fine, but not the color explosion it appeared to be.As far as assembly - crud.Give yourself 2 hours, have a hammer or rubber mallet and you would be best off with at least two good sized friends. This thing is just hollow injection-molded plastic pieces and the parts barely fit together. You basically need to press and bend the plastic pieces into one another while forcing them together to make the thing work. That seems to be what then keeps the thing "durable". I ended up having to literally stand on and jump up and down on some of the pieces to get them to fit into one another.Even then, one or two minor parts just do not fit tightly. On a pain in the butt scale, I give it a 7.5, maybe an 8.Be warned.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not in wasp/yellow jacket territory!
We got one of these when we bought our new home.It came with the house. We love it as do my boys (4 and 16 months) but unfortunately, the wasps love it too.The bright colours attract them and the gaps left where the pieces join together are apparently considered prime real estate for wasps to build their nests.I'm allergic to bees so I am in fear whenever we go in our backyard.I do a walk-around the structure every day, but between morning and nap there have been industrious wasps and so we can't play outside till my husband comes home and gets the nest down and sprays the living daylights out of the wasps or whatever these nasty things are.We are looking into getting either a metal structure or a wooden one...something not as bright and cheerful looking and something without all those little holes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Adjustable, but not easy to adjust
For the most part, it was easy to assemble though there are quality control issues with some of the plastic seams.I had to shave off some of the xtra plastic on two of the panels connecting 'locks' when they snap together. But most of it was pretty to assemble withone person. DO follow the directions when it comes to attaching the'tunnel' because it is a VERY tight fit, for safety reasons. The reconfiguring of the slides is very easy to unmount, but the 'tunnel' is a different story, you pretty much have to disassemble the panel from one of the towers to get it off.One other thing that that you can do with this playground is that you can just keep it separate, it is very stable, and have 2 towers and one slide on each one without the tunnel attached in which they could have marketed it as a 10-in-1.I actually had only one of the towers assembled with the slide attached in the livingroom for my 2-yrs daughter to play with since it rained all weekend and we couldn't set it up outside. ...
