Leap sets off to deliver invitations to the music recital but getsdistracted along the way in this engaging, interactive storybook designed to introduce basic math concepts to preschoolers. Set the book in the LeapPad(sold separately), and tap Go with the magic pen to hear the story. Optionalmath games on each page allow children to help Leap solve simple math problemsthat involve number and shape recognition, counting from 1 to 10, sorting andclassifying, and sequence and pattern formation. In the end, of course, theinvitations are delivered and the recital is a success. The final pages areparticularly fun: kids can tap the six individual instruments to hear them playalone, or tap the conductor to hear how all six parts come together to make asong. Like all LeapPad books, this one features excellent sound quality, pleasant narrative voices, fun sound effects, and adjustable volume settings.--Elisabeth Fredrickson, mother of three and former English teacher ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not as much fun as...
the other LeapFrog books.I'm sure it has a lot to do that this book revolves around mathamatics, instead of Toy Story or Scooby Doo!All things considered, the only time we use this book is when I "make" my kids use it before they can play with the more entertaining, tv-like books. However, it is educational once they get involved.

I give 3 stars for durability, as I will for all Leap Books, only because the book does not provide storage for the cartridge. It sure would be nice if the books had small plastic sleeves for the related cartridge. We have a number of books and keeping the books and cartridges together are a little tough. The chances of losing the small cartridges will keep my durability rating lower than 5.

Also, the 3 stars for durability is related to a design "flaw". The wire from the pen and the bottom of the book are constant fighting for space. To turn the page, without possibly bending the page, requires you to hold the wire down so it doesn't interfere with the page. Easy enough for an adult to do, however my 5 year old doesn't remember to hold the wire down all the time. 50% of all of our pages have creases in the bottom of the pages...all in the same spot!

5-0 out of 5 stars Age range should be younger
I think a more appropriate age range for this book is from 3 - 5. My 4 1/2 year old is now working with numbers up to 20+.This book would have been better for her a year ago.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Educational toy
This is a good educational toy, but my daughter is too impatient and does not want to listen to all of the instructions for the games.I would also suggest getting a box to put all cartridges and books in so that they can all stay together. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Puzzle!!!
Definitely a must buy!!!!My two year old learned her right hand from her left hand by using this puzzle. Not only does she understand the concept of counting from 1 to 10, but she also understands that each finger on each hand is different from the other. This puzzle teaches spacial concepts, counting, colors, and coordination.I wish there were more puzzles like this one. If anyone knows of any, please contact me through Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Puzzle
My little boy loves puzzles, and this is probably his favorite one. And I like that it's so sturdy and will be able to be passed down to his sister!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for persistent little ones!!!
My little girl received this puzzle along with two other ones on her second birthday. I thought it would be a little too advanced for her but it turned out to be her favorite one!She showed me that with persistence little hands can achieve great things. She is two and half now and she still loves this puzzle, whether it is to count the objects on each finger or to learn the names of the fingers it keeps her busy each time she picks it up. ... Editorial Review

This purple and silver electronic lap-book looks worth the sacrifice of foregoing afternoon cartoons--and it is. The two included storybooks ("Ernie's Neighborhood" and "School Skills") fit inside the book and, thanks to microchip technology, kids can read, count, talk, and sing along with characters using a handy stylus as a pointer. They can stop the story whenever they like to figure out words, phrases and puzzles along the way. Buttons for letters, words, music, and "surprises" are within finger-distance, and so is a full reference of capital and lower-case letters. There are also 60 or more learning activities stored in the book, designed for kids between 3 and 8 years (or up to the 2nd grade). Activities range from simple (spelling, telling time, music) to more complex (problem-solving, comprehension, vocabulary). Required: four AA batteries. Diane Beall ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT ALL THAT IMPRESSIVE
We got this toy for our daughter when she was two years old and she didn't play with it. She is now four and still deosn't play with it. The books that go with it are not that great and are limited. The cartriges that go with the books are hard to keep track of because they are small. The learning system messes up and gets off track very easily. I don't recomend this toy and will be selling my hardly used power touch at a garage sale.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but little hands like to push many things at once...
I just bought this (...), brought it home, put in batteries and my son (2 1/2) went right to it.Hoever, it may be too advanced for him.I thought it would not be because he already knows his letter, numbers, colors, shapes, and can even do a 24 piece puzzle in less than five minutes. But this thing has a lot of options. He went to one page and pushed on everything and then wanted to go to the next page, not wanting to push the bottons at the top for tother activites.I'm sure he will get into those more as he gets a little older and this will make an excellent toy, but I was hoping for something that would keep his attention for a while now.I also wonder know if I should've gotten the "My First LeapPad" because of the pen. That's the reason I didn't get it, I thought the finger would be easier, but now I see at my son's age, it is too hard for him to only use just his finger, he wants to rest his hand on it as well, pushing about ten things at once.I miht put this back in the box for six months or so and get one for younger kids in the meantime.ALthough as he uses this more, he might still get some good entertainment out of it, if he will be patient enough to let listen to the directions for the suprise games, etc...

5-0 out of 5 stars TWO YEAR OLD LOVES IT!
My son got this toy for his second birthday last October and really loves it.I guess it is similar to the Leap Pad but since I've never seen the leap Pad I'm not sure. The board basically fits storybooks on it along with a cartridge that accompanies each book.Kids turn the page and the interactive story book plays and responds to your childs touch. They can press on basically everything on each page and hear a sound or phrase and even play simple number and color games. The voices are right out of Sesame Street for the book that comes with the set.

It's quite easy for kids to turn on and use all by themselves. The toy is quite durable and is not a battery hog.I know that there are many more story books out for the Leap Pad. Hopefully Fisher Price will continue to support the toy with more and more story books because it is a very well made toy.VEry educational and fun for kids. ... Read more

This pretend cash register may seem like all fun and games to your little one but is actually teaching him coin and money values, coin identification, numbers, counting, and quantities. The register comes with a stack of play pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, all encased in easy-to-handle plastic chips. In explore mode, the smart coin reader on the register identifies all coins as kids drop them in, teaching their name and value. Four additional price tags represent larger monetary values and as kids slide price tags over the flashing scanner or drop coins in the register, they learn how to add values together and make totals. Kids can also set the register to price check mode to play a fun game that teaches number identification. Final checkout reinforces numbers, coins, and coin combinations once again and plays a fun song when the register opens. Throughout playtime, kids will receive encouragement and requests to keep playing from the LeapFrog's friendly voice. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Dissappointing!
My daughter loves money and cash registers and anything having to do with either one. However, after only one day the tags stopped scanning completely. The coins get stuck constantly, so you the parent has to keep unjamming them! My daughter is only 2, but can count extremely well with money. This toy was a complete let down to both of us because it does not add the same way a real cash register does. Don't waste your money on this one!

1-0 out of 5 stars Can Get Annoying Very Quickly
My daughter had a cash register which was cheap, didn't have a ringing sound and broke fairly quickly, so I decided to get her this one last Christmas, because it was made by Leapfrog and seemed to be durable and came with counting games. What a mistake! The only plus is that it's durable.I mean, that's the ONLY plus. Here's all the minuses:

1.The coins jam extremely easily.Luckily, there's a little access slot to unjam the coins. When my daughter played with it the first two times, we put the cover for the slot back on.The third time she played with it (and the third time it jammed) we threw the cover away, since we realized that every time she plays with it it was going to jam.And it does!My daughter likes putting the coins in very quickly and doing that it's easy for them to get stuck. It takes a butter knife or a screw driver to unstick them.I told her not to put the coins in too quickly, but she still does, and of course they jam again and again. To say I'm sick of unjamming these coins every thirty seconds is an understatement.

2.It's extremely loud. Now, I have a very high tolerance for loud toys.I grew up in a household where the TV was always on at full volume and everybody was always screaming at each other, so what others consider to be 'loud' toys, seem very reasonable to me.So, take it from me...when I say this thing is extremely loud, for most people it would be unbearably, blow your eardrums off loud.I would not be surprised if this thing registered a hundred decibels or more with one of those sound meter things.Luckily, there is a volume control, but unfortunately when the cash register is first turned on, it's on the highest volume setting. You have to click the volume button about fourteen times to get it to a reasonable setting (again, which to most people would still be considered loud). At first, I thought my daughter was turning it up on purpose and yelled at her, thinking no toy company in their right mind would have the setting naturally that loud.I felt like a total jerk when I realized that she wasn't doing it, and that Leapfrog wasn't in their right mind when the set the volume for this product. If I had tried it out in a store and saw it was this noisy, I would have never bought it for her.So, besides unjamming the coin slot every time, you also have to turn it down every time. (Don't expect your kid to do this--my daughter doesn't mind the rock concert volume at all.)This is a huge minus for any parent who is not deaf and would like to stay that way.

3.My daughter doesn't like the games. My daughter at first played the games, but she got sick of them very quickly.I think it's because they're a little too complicated for the age range, and like others have said, the games have too much talking and not enough action. There also isn't a setting where the toy would function like a regular cash register. When my daughter does play with it nowadays, it's usually with the toy turned off.

4.There's nowhere to store the price tags.Though the coins are large, and they all fit in the till, the price tags are too big to go in there too and with a toddler, that means a higher chance of misplacing them.I like to have all the small parts accessible to my daughter so she doesn't have to dig through the toybox looking for them, but unfortunately, we're constantly hunting for the stupid price tags.

Though it looks like a very nice toy, I would not recommend it to anyone. It's definitely more annoying, both to parents and children, than it is fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not all that I had hoped...But daughter likes it!
This register does have some fun, and educational qualities, as you would expect from the Leapfrog brand.I bought it knowing that it would be more durable than a cheap $10 bo-bo brand one would be (and it is).
We gave it to my 3 1/2 yr old daughter for Christmas.I also bought her the shopping cart set too. (It's nice bcs the pieces interchange.)
My daughter likes it and plays with it fairly often. She will out-grown it soon though.
Here's my biggest letdown list:
1.) The coins get stuck.Slip a butter knife in there, and you can get loosen them with no problem. If your child will excitedly push coins through as fast as possible- this will happen.
2.) The automated voice only counts to ten.Yes, you can only count to ten.The coins are all identified correctly, but when it is in the counting mode, it's only to ten.
3.) There is no "free-play" option.Sometimes, we like (my daughter and I!) to play store, and just want to ring things up based on what we type into the register (like a calculator). You cannot ring things up for say $9.99 (and have the computer-voice identify the amount). Instead, you have to turn the thing completely off (and just-gasp-PRETEND to), or risk hearing the voice interrupt itself endlessly. It is basically designed to ring up the included Leapfrog toys only. Nor can you type in the payment amount of say $10, let alone figure change. I'm not sure you can ring up anything over $1.29?! It also doesn't "total up" multiple items.
4.) There is no debit/credit card option. How sad is that?! My daughter LOVES paying at the real grocery store and that was one feature mommy overlooked on this machine. My daughter is bummed that it doesn't have that option to swipe a card. Maybe that's a good thing?!

Things I do Like:
1.) The coins are realistic looking and have the safety covers. They are color coded to help child distinguish them while learning. They aren't a choking hazard.
2.) Volume control.Thank you Leapfrog.
3.) Unisex color, durable plastic, cute kids' voices.
4.) Works with the shopping cart.

Bottom line, my daughter likes it and it is suitable for toddlers, but if you want a more realistic cash register toy, this isn't it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Everything costs, and the monsters in this funny LeapPad story prove it. They have to figure out how much coinage it'll take to buy their favorite pet, and your child will help. LeapPad's multisensory, experiential interface makes kids--even those just getting used to school--want to count as well as big kids can. With Monster Money, kids see, hear, say, and touch throughout the story, retaining new information, and enhancing learned information, like counting, adding, currency, values, and more. The book teaches early math skills in a thoughtful, preoperational learning format that kids will think is fun, not work.

It's simple to use (just insert the cartridge and book into a LeapPad, and use the attached stylus to hear information), but this system is an innovative technology that provides entertaining, effective learning, designed by a Stanford-trained reading expert. As well, the system has been credited with the TMA's Educational Toy of the Year and People's Choice awards.

Two notes: Make sure the LeapPad book you get is appropriate for the child's educational level; this one should be a challenge for kids up to age 6. As well, know that some LeapBooks work on both LeapPad and LeapPad Pro, like this one, but some books only work with one system. --Diane Beall ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected
I bought this for my six year old 1st. grader and was very disappointed! Not only did it not have quarters in the series of coins, it never teaches that "5" pennies= "1" nickle, "10" pennies = "1" dime or "2" nickles etc.. It is also very redundant with the same money combinations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the Money!!
This is a great book. It teaches counting and money (pennies, nickels, dimes). Kids pick a monster, who in turn, picks an item that costs a certain amount. Kids then add up the correct amount of money the item costs. There are all different games to play. Well worth the money!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Poor humor!
My 5 and 3 year olds enjoyed this book.I however am not so pleased.I agree with some of the other reviews that they really don't learn much about the coins and counting them, but I was also annoyed to find "potty" humor in a child's educational toy. There is a page that jokes about gas which the kids of course find hilarious, but I think they get enough of that in every day life and should not have it involved in their education! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun & Colorful Counting
This abacus has been loads of fun for my two year old who is just learning the counting basics. She loves to just sit and play with the beads or to count with the help of mom and dad.The wood and metal construction is very safe and durable like all Melissa and Doug toys. This will be a useful and fun learning tool for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun math toy
The colors are bright and the frame is thick and durable. It is a nice way to add a little fun to math.Plus since it is so well made, when my 10 month old wants to play with it I don't worry about her or the toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars IGNORE REVIEW FROM WOMAN ABOUT GIVING TOY TO LITTLE BABIES!!
AGE IS LISTED FOR 3 AND UP SO WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THAT WOMAN GET THIS FORA LITTLE BABY! THIS IS A WONDERFUL TOY FOR THE RIGHT AGE. NOT A BABY!

2-0 out of 5 stars Toys are dangerous for young babies!!!!
I have a 9 month old and 75% of the toys that are included I would NEVER allow him to play with even with me beside him.The letters and numbers are way too small and he could easily slip it in his mouth and choke.Example, they have a lower case "L" the size of a small french fry.The only ones that are acceptable to me are the aquatic animals and there are far less of them than the letters and numbers.SECOND, although it's super easy to put together, it doesn't fit well in my bathroom. The pelican only extends so far to hang over the tub- so if your tub is like mine and gets wider at each end, don't count on putting it at either end- it won't fit.So that leaves me with putting it in between the middle of the tub and the end.So I'm battling for elbow room to bath my son although I will admit our toilet is at the other end making space limited. <br /> <br /> Bottom line- toys are not for young babies who could choke and you need a tub that nothing is beside like the vanity or toilet and a tub ledge that doesn't get bigger at the ends.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just doesn't work in tub
Didn't think of it when I ordered but can't be used if you have sliding glass doors on tub.Ended up costing me $6.00 shipping fee to return & a $4.00 restocking charge.Lesson learned, be careful what you order. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I have a question, hope someone can answer.
I like the look of this toy on the site, it looks durable, and my child loves to play in the tub. My question is this, do these letters stick to the walls of a tub enclosure, or are ceramic tiles the required finish for them to adhere to?
Hope to get an answer soon and thanks

1-0 out of 5 stars Love them!!
Only problem I have noticed is they are very small and that they don't have all the letters. My kids names have R's in them and they are upset that there isn't even 1 r in the whole tub. They stick to the wall great and even my husband and I have enjoyed leaving messages with them. Two thumbs up!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Toy!
My kids have this toy. They love making their names or words out of the letters.

I find it totally unexceptable for someone to attack someone else. This is for REVIEWS, not to attack people. Who cares if shes not who she says she is? She wrote a good review. She didn't use "their" instead of "there" anyway, and two exclamations is a common mistake. She was probably in a hurry.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great System
I bought this for my 2yr old.Although the age group states its for older children, my son still has tons of fun with this system. This book is his favorite and he likes to read it at least 2-3 times per day.It is so neat that nearly every picture on the page can make a sound or tell you what it is.He learns lots of new words and is so excited about books. He loves the fact that Elmo is somewhere on every page.We have so much fun with this book and the whole system. He also has the leap frog system but reaches for this one first.
I would caution not to purchase if you don't intend on supervising closely. He is very rough on the pages and they come out and get torn pretty easily and this happened while I was watching him closely.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves playing with this book
My two year old son received a PowerTouch system for his birthday.According to the age recommendations he is too young for the system, but he figured out what to do very quickly, and his vocabulary has certainly been widened since he began playing with the system.

Our son's favorite book is "Elmo's Noisy Day" -- Elmo and Zoe go all around Sesame Street with jars and bottles in which they collect all the noises they hear.On one page they sample sounds from the jungle, on another they capture the sounds of a busy street, and they even collect some sounds from outer space!I was impressed by the variety of sounds included, and I was also impressed at how some pictures contained unexpected sounds. For example, on the first pages, the hats on a coat rack each make their own sound, related to the profession each hat is associated with.In the music store, each of the four samples of sheet music in the background produce a different tune.On the spaceship, the different buttons and levers make different beeps and squawks.

When my son sits down with this book, he will page through and play with it for 20 minutes or so at a time.He has suprised me with some of the new words he has learned by hearing them in the book -- he casually pointed out the tuba for me the other day by name!I can't speak to the counting or spelling functions of the book - we just use it for the story, for music and sounds, and for naming objects. Some of the pages are beginning to get a little ragged with use, but since my son is two I am sure he is handling it a little more roughly than an older child would.

I would recommend this book for the Power Touch system because of the great variety of information a child can get from any page, and for the educational value of the information presented, especially for a younger child (2 or 3 years old). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings...not exactly what I expected
I absolutely love the LeapPad and it's books!I currently own a LeapPad and thought that the 'Spanish LeapPad' was something a little different. It is the same high quality LeapPad as the non-spanish one. What makes this 'Spanish System' is the Spanish LeapPad book that is included.I thought that it would be more like a 'repeat after me series...'.This is an excellent supplement and introduction for someone that is learning Spanish as a 2nd language and a must have for those that are native to Spanish.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for English Speaking kids learning Spanish
This unit comes complete with an English sampler booklet (no cartridge required) and Spanish sampler booklet with cartridge. My 3 year old son had lots of fun with the sound effects even though he didn't pay particular attention to the words and didn't care to repeat the words. He is very familiar with the English version of LeapFrog and will have to get use to the Spanish version very slowly.I'm disappointed the unit has no built-in easy carrying handle or headphone jack. 2-0 out of 5 stars Just Like Home - Electronic Cash Register
I guess you get what you pay for. It's very inexpensive and the first thing to go is the hand held scanner, and it goes very quickly.I brought it back to the store for another, but the scanner for that one broke quickly also, and the salesperson said that there were a lot of complaints about that for this item.My daughter accumulated a lot of play money in different denominations so she could learn to count money, but alas, the drawer was too small to accommodate it. (The money that comes with the register is not realistic-looking, so it doesn't promote currency and coin recognition.)Basically, this toy may be fine for young children, but it doesn't grow with them because it won't last and even if it did, it has limitations that prevent its use from being expanded as your child's skills advance.Unless you're not interested in durability, longevity or educational value, you're better off with the Pretend and Play cash register from Learning Resources for three times the price of this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
My Daughter loved this toy, I guess a little too much the second day the microphone stopped working, the Conveyor Scanner stopped beeping and the credit card slider stopped making noise as well. Buy anything else but this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best educational fun toy!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy's little helper......
My three year old got this for Christmas and she loves it.It helps with colors and shapes. It even has a little addition. One part has your child count all the books on a page, another has different types of vehicles, and yet another teaches open and closed. Also there is actually a story about Clifford. I thought my daughter would get bored but she hasn't even asked to open one of the other books she got yet. There isn't a spot on a page that doesn't do something. My daughter has had to learn how to be gentle though. The pages are tough but not three year old proof. ... Read more

Ribbit! This huggable froggie is one great learningtool--teaching toddlers and preschoolers the alphabet, phonics, numbers, colors, and vocabulary. When kids press the letters on his tummy orother buttons on his webbed fingers, he'll say the selection aloud.Little ones can also follow along in his 26-page alphabet storybook.Read and Sing Little Leap engages kids with tunes like the ABC's and aninteractive phonics song, as well as four learning activities. Althoughthis little guy is never too taxing on the eardrums, the volume controland auto shutoff are wonderful features that allow kids to take theirsmart friend with them into dreamland (and ensures longer batterylife). The frog requires three batteries, which areincluded. --Melissa Wilson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars both my boys
I have a two year old and a five year old. Both know their alphabet already but I really liked read and sing little leap. Both my boys love leap. They both know how to use him to work on things they like to do.They love hearing stories with things they know and people they love.i defiantly recommend to all parents to buy this leap frog.

3-0 out of 5 stars needs to be more clear
This toy is cute and will entertain any child who likes baby tad.As for educational purposes, it is too difficult to discern between the "c" "b" "v" "d" and etc. This is always hard to find in toys but v-tech smart board is the best (the "write n' learn smart board" also will show the letter on a screen, say it clearly, and encourage child to write it)My son loves both toys which both go for $30.But for parents who buy the toy to teach get the v-tech.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun/educational for the short time it works
We purchased this Little Leap 2 years ago and used it very little until now.It would be a great educational toy if it worked properly. After only a few uses, the buttons around the edges of the "keypad" stopped working and some of the other buttons said the wrong letter when pushed. How confusing for someone trying to learn their letters or phonics!I called the company and they suggested changing the batteries (I already had) and cleaning the battery connections with alcohol (I did and no improvement). They said if I would send it and $20 to them, they would replace it.They called this their 50% guarantee. If you have looked at Amazon's price, it is $29.99.I asked how $20 equalled 50% off. They said 1/2 of $30 is $15 plus $5 shipping and handling!(This is on top of my cost to ship it to them!)

I have read in reviews of other Little Leap products that the company does not stand behind their products. Now I know that is true!My sons have enjoyed all their products that we have purchased, but I will never purchase or request another one now that I know they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!!

Do not buy this product! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars FUN TOY
Thanks to this toy now my baby's nickname has
become "Croki!"Imagine that!!!she loves it
and is always carrying it around. The voice & tone are fine
and cathcy for a lil' kid.I wouldn't expect your child to really play & understand it until at least 1 year old.One thing, though that's annoying, the numbers on the hands are VERY HARD to press, even for an adult. They should fix this because
a child is not able to do it on their own.Overall, it's worth
the buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Mistaken by other reviews
I love this toy. It was very clear and understandable. It didn't need english instructions because a small child could figure it out. It didn't have all the letters but most small children can't pronounce those letters anyway and unless spanish is the primary language they won't need them. Basic words are fine. I also saw a review that said it was dialect biased, and it's not. Most people think that because a lot of spanish speaking people are so used to their particular dialect that they think it is the way everyone one speaks it. It's not. It uses the proper spanish dialect. I very much recommend this toy for early beginners.

3-0 out of 5 stars Buttons can be hard for little fingers
As an American of Cuban descent, it is important for me to teach my son son Spanish.I got this toy to help him mainly with the alpahbet. He didn't really start appreciating it until almost 22 months, but he seems to like it now. However, some of the buttons, particularly the ones on the right side of his shirt, can be hard to press.I even struggle with a couple of them.

That being said, the Spanish spoken is excellent and, as stated earlier, not biased towards one dialect. The voice of Croki is quite sweet, not at all annoying like some toys. The games are cute and I think he will like them more as he growns older, particularly the one where they are asked to find a mystery letter of a certain color.I just wish they could have incorporated in a couple more colors (black, brown, white, and yellow) so that it could do more for teaching colors. But, overall, I would recommend this toy. ... It looks like a Jedi light saber (and surely more than one Star Wars fanwill play with it as such), but this unique and colorful toy is actually a snappy way tomaster multiplication. Create multiplication problems by turning and spinning the dials. Then, with a click of a button, an LCD display screen lets you see and hear the correctanswer. Catchy music makes learning fun, and a friendly, cartoonish voice repeats theanswer, then encourages and congratulates with each success. Included are simpleinstructions that make learning and using easy. This cool tool can be used to build mathequations, self-test, learn multiplication tables in sequence, or be tested with randomequations. Made of hard plastic, this item is extremely portable and has automatic shut- off. It is somewhat loud, however, so it's not appropriate for quieter environments.--Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great learning toy
This toy helped my third grader be one of the top in his class with the multiplication facts. I would have him bring it in the car all the time ...he had a ball. He especially enjoys the race against the clock.

4-0 out of 5 stars Super product
I bought this for my son who was having a lot of trouble remembering his multiplication facts. He is typically a good student. When he was in fifth grade he was getting poor marks in math due to not knowing his facts. We tried flash cards, games, nothing helped. When he first got this he would want to play with it on his own, which was great. After he got bored with it I would encourage him use it, which he did. After just a few months he learned his facts by heart! What a painless and fun way to learn something so dull, yet vital. I think this is a great learning toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars great travel toy
I bought my twin sons this puzzle/peg toy for their 2nd birthday. They have loved this toy from the start. It is very colorful and that initially attracted them to it.Then they enjoyed putting pegs in the different holes. At first it was random, now at almost 3 years old, they like to sort by colors (orange pegs in the orange piece)and see how high the pegs can stack. They also love to count the pegs in each piece. The entire toy is very durable and if you lose a piece, Lauri will replace the part for a nominal charge.I love all of Lauri's toys and we bought the peg board and additional pegs. The primer pak is also a fun kit to take on the road.We take these toys to church, restaurants, and they are a great distraction when I have to make phone calls. They are quiet toys and they require no batteries. ...

Didn't think of it when I ordered but can't be used if you have sliding glass doors on tub.Ended up costing me $6.00 shipping fee to return & a $4.00 restocking charge.Lesson learned, be careful what you order. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A little too simple
I bought this toy for my 3 yr old son as it is recomended for ages 3 and up. It honestly doesn't do much and didn't hold his attention at all. If anything, he liked scattering the "coins" all over the house. The few buttons light up a picture on a screen and either say "1, 2, or 3" or make three overly electronic sounding animal noises. The credit card does nothing more than make a plastic receipt pop up. The few lights and sounds make this toy seem more appropriate for 18 months to 2 1/2. We had it for only a week before we donated it to our church nursery.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool idea for little ones
My 3 year and I play with this a lot.He likes to drop the coins into the slot. He's doing a better job now of matching colors because only the coin with the matching color goes into the slot with the button of that color. Also he likes to press the buttons and see what will light up.It's lots of fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome.
This is an awesome toy for pre-schoolers.Hours of fun and they even learn!I really like the lights and sounds. ... Read more
