AWESOME GARDEN!
I bought this for my 5 year old for christmas, and she had a ball painting the planter and then planting the seeds. Once it started to grow, we have had a ton of fun trimming and caring for the garden.I let her play with her polly pocket dolls on it because it belongs to her and she uses it as her "enchanted fairyland."So what if a little dirt gets on the floor, it cleans up.This is by far one of the few times I have not felt like I wasted my money.My 8 year old son even likes to be the landscaper.

I bought this for Xmas for my 6 yr. granddaughter. I wanted to have something to do while I was visting, and that she could enjoy once I went home. I let her do it herself. Grass and beans were planted wherever she decided. Of course she planted both everwhere. Within 2days the grass was up. The beans appeared the next day.My son just sent me a picture. Surprise
I bought this for my niece two years ago and never thought about it or heard about it again.Recently, I went to her soccer game and while she was playing, her brothers were playing with this decorated ball.She had fun decorating it and they all love to play with it!!I was pleasantly surprised.

This seems like a lot of fun, but at the same time most people nowadays are looking for the new cool-looking Adidas or Nike. Plus it probably won't last very long because of the material.

Coming from a kid, I must say that this is a wonderful item to have. I got it for my birthday last year and I loved it. I played with all the time. Expensive
I felt this kit was expensive for the small amount of items that came with it. It is cute and beats having my kids sit in front of the television, [...] As a plus I must admit that my children (ages 9 and 7) enjoyed painting the butterflies and turning them into magnets. That is worth a few stars.

classic but fun!
My girls have received other Balitono kits before and theylove them, so I am always on the lookout for more styles.The best ones we had were the horses kit and some other jewelry box kits (not sure the exact names) but the painted things are on our girls' tables.

The butterflies kit is not as elaborate as the others we had but we had as much fun creating them.My 9 year old and 7 year old shared the kit and took the time painting them and making into magnets and ornaments.The butterflies are about 4 inches each, not large but there are 3 of them and i am impressed with the quality of the paints and paintbrush since i used to paint on canvas.on the pamphlet, it said the wooden butterflies are hand-carved and they have the details that are life-like.One improvement i would like to have is to have a glow-in-the-dark paint included.

Busy momof four with limited income
I was pretty disappointed when I open this toy. I have very little money to spend on four wonderful children, and this was to be a Christmas gift, but when I opened it and saw that there were only three littel wooden butterflies, one paint brush and only six primary colors of paint, I really felt like I had wasted my limited resources.

I wish I had taken the time to read ALL of the reviews before purchasing this product. At a lower price, like 3.99 or less, this would have been a great deal, well worth it. But not at $14.99 plus shipping. I will certainly be much more careful when choosing toys online that is for sure.

Fortunately for me, my children are very well-manored and very compassionate. It is the reason for holiday that makes them happy. NOT the quality or quantity of the gifts they get. God bless them all... ... Read more

Another great toy from Melissa & Doug!
We've had this stamp set for a year now, and it is still being used constantly by my son and daughter, age 5 now, and my other son, 4 now.They do not get tired of this toy!When I try to de-clutter and rotate the toys, they always notice if it's missing.(Which is more that can be said for most of their other toys).Super price for this set, considering how much it's loved!

4-yr-old daughter really enjoys this stamp set
A few pieces of paper and this kit can entertain my 4-yr-old daughter for at least 30 minutes at a time. I was impressed by how much you get for your money with this kit - 16 stamps, two ink pads and eight colored pencils. She loves to make pictures and cards for friends and family. It's a good way to nurture creativity.

These Stepping Stones are awesome!
My daughter, who's now 8 and I have made these using her hand print for every Grandma, Grandpa, aunt, uncle and of course, Mom and Dad, too.They are great gifts.Inexpensive, but priceless to those lucky enough to get them.My Daughter with the help of my Mom made one for me for Christmas one year.I can't tell you how much I LOVE my stepping stone with her little handprint in it.You can also take a toothpick or something and write the child's name, "I love you" or whatever to make it even more personal.None of the stones we've made have broken either and by last count, we've made 8.Oh, one other thing that we tried with the last two we made was painting them with some outdoor paint and that turned out real cute too.Give these as gifts and you can't go wrong!

Great for younger kids, too
I have used this with my 3 year old on 3 separate occasions and she absolutely loves it!It takes a lot of parental involvement and help with the actual mixing process (adding the ingredients), but she was able to stir it herself and LOVED putting the stones in.I supplemented with marbles, floral stones, and some stones specific to mosaics that I found at a craft store.All in all - a wonderful project that provides years of creative options and play, as well as great parental involvement.I gave a high educational value since creativity is one of the key foundations of education for preschoolers.

Great Toy/Project
I am very happy with this lamp. I bought it for my 7 year old cousin as a gift and she fell in love with it. The lamp came with the paints for her to design however she wanted to. It is a great way for kids to open their minds and be creative. The one thing I would suggest is that it came in a variety of colors. It seems too much like a project for little girls only. Otherwise, it's a great product.

Awsome Lamp Painting
I think that the Groovy Ceramic Lamp is a good way to learn hand cordination because you have to be able to control the way you paint.Also it is a fun experiance that lasts.After you are done painting the lamp you can either give it to a loved one or keep for a reading lamp or whatever.So I promotethe Groovy Ceramic Lamp to a kid with a very artsy mind and imagination.

Not a bad product
We got this over two years ago for my daughter when she was 6 months old.We were looking for a mobile that wasn't "traditional."She still loves it and so does her baby sis.Yes, there isn't a sun, but if you look at the proportions, you would need a beach ball for the sun!We hung the planets from differ lengths of fishing line.Our only problem was Jupiter was too low and we kept hitting it.That was easy to fix.Don't forget to put the star stickers on the star tacks.If a tack fall out of the ceiling, you can use a flashlight at night to locate it quickly!

Excellent choice
My son recently finished a study of the solar system in his preschool class and was very excited about what he had learned. I searched for several items that I could purchase to both educated him further and that would add a decorative touch to his room. This item did both.I was rather put off by most reviews on the ease, or in most cases lack of ease, of installation.It took me 10 minutes to string up the planets, afix the fish line to the little star tacks and place them in my ceiling. . . a breeze.If the planets are near a light source they glow brightly and into the night. Infact we awoke this morning and they were still faintly glowing. Impressive.As for the stickers, well they are what they are...tiny. I used them on some left over spiderweb from halloween to create the milky way around the planets and the paper mache sun we created and they work fine.I didn't even need a tweezer. Great product!


Tip for installation - tie the string to the planet first in a knot, then tie a loop knot at the other end. Take that and slip it around the nail of the tack and tighten.The star head will keep the knot from sliding off the nail and it will be secure to hold the planets up. If you actually try to tie the fish line around/across the star head it will take hours and will make for a frustrating installation... ... Read more

Very nice but...
...why not buy the materials at your local "superstore" -- clay for the body, paint and other decorations, wire for the wings and antennae, fabric and/or yarn for the wings, hangers...and THEN you can make just about ANYTHING -- beetles, aliens, fairies, rocketships, hot rods!!!...creativity to the extreme!

My 6yr old and her cousin had a blast making this butterflys. I had extra jewels they used and it was just really a great project. I even did one myself it was so much fun. I will be ordering more sets for her... A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My 7 year old girl got this as a birthday present. The butterflies that come in the kit are very pretty and basically all the children have to do is decorate them. WE TURNED THE BEDROOM INTO A GALAXY
I had a lot of fun with my granchildren transforming their bedroom into a glowing galaxy.There was more than enough stars to make a bunch of constellations on their ceiling.These are easy to use and weren't messy at all.The kids love staring at the stars and pointing out the names of constellation before they go to bed at night.I was surprised when they started pointing out the real ones once we were outside one evening.

Fun Now and Later
I purchased three "Paint the Wild: Puppies" kits for my daughters, ages 5, 8, and 10. They very much enjoyed the process of painting the puppies to match their favorite breeds, as well as some newly created breeds straight from their imagination.

The puppies are a lightweight wood (likely balsa or soft pine) and are durable enough to play with after the paint has dried. There's plenty of paint included to complete your masterpieces.

Satisfaction with this product has inspired my decision to purchase other "Paint the Wild" kits. The horses were also a big hit with my children.

This is a good choice to fill a rainy afternoon. Also is an excellent gift item.

Not what I expected.
Was disappointed that the puppies were basically chunks of wood faintly resembling dogs...thought they might have more detail or finishing. Would probably pass had I known....

Unique and Creative, This ball will be one of a KIND!
My 5 year old son received the 'Design Your Own Basketball' kit as a birthday present from a friend.

We opened the package and used the provided air pump to inflate the translucent ball.The pump was easy enough for my 5 year old to operate and he had a fun time inflating the ball himself - it made him feel 'strong' :)After inflating the ball, he chose the paint color he would use first.He chose red... I filled up the provided paint injector with the red paint, inserted the tip into the ball and he squoze the paint in the ball.We bounced the ball back and forth to each other... distributing the paint in a splatter like pattern around the inside of the ball.It looked really neat!We then used all the other colors and bounced each one to make a neat patternand complete the ball.

My son is very proud of his creation, he did most of it himself...AND he has a unique ball that no one else in the neighborhood has :)We would recommend this kit to others and will buy some in the future to give as gifts too!

I bought this for my 6 year old & she opened it as an early present.The ball is ok,it bounces much farther than a real basketball,being made of a different sort of rubber.Ok for bouncing but not to good for real basketball. The paint was fun to inject into the ball,but you can't really control where it goes though.As it turns out,that doesn't matter because all the paint mixed and puddled in the bottom of the ball.It doesn't seem to be drying in there.So don't get your hopes up artisticlly,but its fun for 4 to 6 year olds.don't pay full price for this,wait until its at least 50% off. ... Not worth the money!
I bought this horse kit for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas.The kit was much smaller than I thought it would beand one of the horses in the package was broken.It appears to be made of a cheap wood/material.I would not recommend this toy to anyone!I am very surprised that this toy won an award for "Best Toy".What a disappointment!!!!

The Legless Horse
Taking into consideration the reviews of others that the horses may arrive in pieces, I purchased this item for my niece because she loves horses.It arrived today and -- as warned -- one of the horse legs was broken off.It appears that it can be glued back on without much effort and I will do so before gifting it to my niece, however, this review will add to the fair warnings that your horses too may arrive legless or headless and to be prepared.I expect the product to be well received, but I have given this product an average rating because the consumer should not be responsible for pre-use repairs.

Fun model painting kit
I bought this kit for my 9 year old sister-in-law and she enjoyed painting the wooden models.There was plenty of paint and she mixed some of the colors (the instructions give good recommendations).She also painted the cards with the names of the horses she decided on.I was impressed with the instructions, horse facts, and helpful tips that came with the kit; the little wooden figurines are even hand carved. better for the under 10 crowd
I recall enjoying this project as a child in school.My sister gave this item to my daughter for her birthday last week.She loved it.It is a bit different from the cheapos at the dollar tree (refer to last review).This comes with a variety of colorful envelopes, that the paper actually fits into when folded.The scratch off paper comes in different colors (beneath the black scratch off stuff too).There is gold, silver, flourescent, and rainbow.My Daughter just loved picking thru the colors and selecting a particular one for her creation.She also used the simple stencils that came with it.It was easy for her to use, it was a "blank canvas" for her to be creative, and we mailed the suckers away when she was done with them (so they aren't cluttering up my house :).She enjoyed sending mail to her friends, and there is a social studies aspect to these, and the educational value of learning how to address and send a letter.Also, fine motor skills and creativity.

My Story Book - what a gem
This is great for the imagination of young children. They can write the story and then sit down and read it to you. It stimulates their brains, gets them away from the TV too.I bought several for my grandchildren for Christmas-ages 5-6-7 and they loved it.The 5 year old loves play acting so she wrote her first book the night I gave it to her-it was a really neat story too!She is on her 3rd "My Story Book" now. My Grandson is writing his "life story"-he's 6.Can't wait to hear what he thinks about life. Some day what treasures those stories will be.I highly recommend this-I have re-ordered again today.

GREAT FAMILY FUN!!!!!!!
My Story Book is such great fun for the whole family. My daughter (7rys) and I sat down and wrote two stories and filled out all the pages with her information, such as her favorite color, drew pictures of her friend and herself, there is even a page to dedicate the stories to. There is another version of this for more where you have to send the book off to come back as a hardcover. I may try that next, but this is fun if you want instant gratification. I also like it because you can choose your own pictures, we used our digital camera to illustrate along with her own drawings and some prints off our photo shop.
