4-0 out of 5 stars Not sure
This thing is GREAT I just can't figure out who to work the fortune teller or the games. You can get a password to unlock your phone numbers. The odometer and the stopwatch are really cool. You can also see the times in different places! The only thing this is missing is a schedule.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a stinker winker!
Ok...this toy really stunk! The text was faded all the time, the games never work, and if you turn the organizer off, all of your game scores went away! I would NOT recommend this toy too ANYONE unless you want to waste your money! This is coming from a 13 year old girl who HATES this.....THING! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Lots of games and activities are packed into this mini "laptop" that’s pure Barbie with its pink cover and pastel keyboard. The 6-by-3-inch electronic toy computer offers tons of games with a learning focus. There are eight different word activities (e.g., hangman, word scramble, spelling), five math activities (e.g., adding, subtracting, numerical ordering), four logic activities (e.g., pattern sequences, matching, memory), several music activities and games, and a handy calculator. Even better, this small, portable device can entertain a 5- to 10-year-old for hours and teach them something along the way. It will also give kids the chance to feel like a grownup working on the computer. This Barbie toy with substance will be a hit with the technically savvy younger set. --Jane Snyder ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Barbie laptop
My 4-year old received this as a gift last Christmas and absolutely loves it.Her favorites are the spelling games and the music maker. This toy can keep her entertained for hours, especially on long car trips. After a year, it's still one of her favorite toys.

2-0 out of 5 stars Since Christmas...
Original Rating from March 2003:

I've only seem my daughter sit with this about 8 times since I gave it to her in Christmas. She'd rather take the Gameboy to a car trip than this.

I expected a slightly bigger laptop and better (funnier) and/or eye-catching activities.I think that for the price it's a rip-off, when I bought it the price was much higher.I started to play with it and wanted to turn it off after a few minutes.Me, also, would rather play with the Gameboy.

This is absolutely boring to me as a grown-up, imagine to a child.

UPDATE NOV 03: It is now Chistmas time again while cleaning my kids room I found this under the bed, my daughter checked it out for about 2 minutes and threw it inside the toybox, I can't blame her, poor thing.

UPDATE NOV 04: Well I got rid of it, it was like new so I sold it and got about 22% the price I originally paid for it, since it was in such nice shape because my daughter didn't play much with it.Otherwise I would have given it away, its not worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does math backwards
If you want your child to learn math correctly do NOT buy this toy.If you try to do a math problem vertically, the answer has to be input backward. For example if the equation is 5+5 your answer is 10 right? Not on this computer. You have to put the 0 first and then the 1, so any child who knows that 5+5=10, cannot input the answer as "10" the answer must be input on the keyboard as "01".This is a MAJOR flaw, did anyone at Oregon Scientific play with it before production began? ... Having trouble keeping track of homework assignments, phone numbers, dates, e-mail addresses, or even the square root of pi? This junior PDA (personal digital assistant) holds the solution to all your organizing woes! Not only that, but a "smartcard" (included) allows players to exchange secret messages with other users of the Message Organizer. Figuring out all the functions of the hand-held is fairly intuitive, and the instructions are simple to follow. Players touch the screen with the stylus to select different modes of operation, which include a password lock function, phone book, schedule, calculator, games, time and date, alarm clock, and language selection. To use the secret message card, players plug the card into the unit and follow the prompts to write or receive messages from buddies. Staying on top of homework and appointments has never been so much fun! (Batteries included) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I don't have one, but i'll base this on what i've read...
This looks soooooooooooooo cool!I really want to get one.It looks like it's going to have a lot of competition with this other thing (it's name is on the tip of my toungue right now) that basically uses the same way of messaging, but it doesn't have a pda in it, it's extremely hard to navigate because you have to scroll through the alphabet, and its only 5 dollars less!Something that cheaply made should cost half of its current price. Also, the review that i read about an expierence where someone's I-hand broke within two hours; all i can ask is why didn't they just take it back? Just because one broke doesn't mean they're all horrible!
Anyway, i can't wait to get one and tell my friends about it.I might even use it as my assignment notebook!

2-0 out of 5 stars Sounds Good but BAD
I've heard lots of good about this toy! It sounds great! I've wanted one for ages, but I wasn't sure if it was really worth it. I'm ofcourse I'm a kid, but I can't really rely on a kid to tell me how good this toy will be. Ive seen one review from a parent who said it broke in like 2 hours! Do you really want a toy that undependable? Also I heard that the batteries are very, very expensive! Seriously! Is this toy that will brake so easily, and when the batteries are low, cost so much, worth almost 20 dollars? I don't think so. You go buy that piece of junk and waist all of that money for two hours of fun! But I'm not gonna go waist my money that was worked hard for, for such a lousy piece of junk! When you buy that thing, you'll be back on this computer writing a review just like mine, about yours or your child's breaking so easily! ... Read more
