5-0 out of 5 stars What a Game!!!
WOW! I can't believe how much fun this game is! The whole 'real time' thing is really cool. You get on, and if it's dark outside, it's dark on the game.Tom Nook's general store "Nook's Cranny" closes at 10:00 and re-opens the next day at 9:00.
When you get in the game you have to name your character and the town you live in, the only problem is that you only have 1000 bells (the currency in the game) and the teeny tiny house you get costs 19,800 bells. So you have to work part-time in Nook's store. He gives you lots of odd jobs to do, such as posting adds for his store and running packages to and fro.
There are endless things to do, you can fish, shake trees for cherries, 100 bells and other things (but be warned! You can knock a beehive out... and I'll let you figure out what happens next!) You can change your clothes, do favors for neighbors, mail letters...
There are lots of neighbors to talk to, and new ones are always moving in. Sometimes they'll send you letters with gifts attached!
I'm yet to find the 'end' of THIS game!
This is an awsome game I'd reccomend to ANYONE!

5-0 out of 5 stars BANANAS
I recently left home to live on my college campus and let's just say that Animal Crossing soon became the only education I would be receiving. Yeah, I know it sounds bad...but it really wasnt! (I managed scrape up A's and B's at the end of semesters). I was introduced to this delightful game by none other than my lovely room-mate and the bubbly town of OBX soon became my home away from home! This game is superb and should be ranked in a class by itself...at times it doesn't feel like a game but like LIFE. There are neighbours with various personalities, traveling guests, a local shopping center, fishing, fruit-collecting, and so much more that are simple but heart-warming. NOW! Stop reading reviews and go buy the game TRUST ME on this one, it is worth the buy...:-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Strangely addicting
Back before this came out, I remember being excited to give it a try mostly because I wanted to get those old NES games on here. Well after I got it, I became hopelessly addicted to further expanding my house and its furnishings as did some of my other friends. If you've somehow managed to stay away from this game, you really do need to give it a chance. Don't be turned off by the graphics because although they look kiddie and dated, they get the job done. Animal Crossing is one of the reasons why Nintendo is so good at delivering an innovative experience that no other company, besides a small few, can seem to create. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Mommy look, it's a SpongeBob game. It must be good...
I don't think so. I am a HUGE SpongeBob fan. My friend owns this game for Gamecube. The Gamecube version is great! You KA-RA-TE chop, bubble bowl, and rock out with SpongeBob. Using Patrick you spin around, cartwheel, and smash. That was a description of the Gamecube game. Now, I don't own a Gamecube so I got a GBA game, thinking it would be somewhat the same. I was very wrong. It is a 2d side-scroller, no KA-RA-TE chops, no cartwheel, not one single attack except for smash. You destroy enemies and bosses (very easy bosses) by jumping on their heads. Regular enemies either walk back and forth, float and throw stuff, try to hit you with a hammer, just float up and down or burp on you. Very easy enemies. Even easier bosses. Bosses have their own special combo of attacks. You avoid them(includes running at you, jumping on you, throwing stuff at you) by jumping over them, ducking,or dodging and when they pause you jump on their heads. Do this 3 times and you've beaten that boss, way too easy for gamers. You collect clams to buy so called "upgrades". All these really are are lives, buckets(explained later) and bonus levels. Buckets are buckets full of soap. When you press L SpongeBob drinks the soap and spits bubbles everywhere, destroying every enemy on the sceen. When you hold R you charge up for "hyper speed". When bubbles appear behind you let go of R and you'll run really fast destroying any rocks or enemies in your way. Press A to jump, and A again to float with Patricks pants. B isn't used. Two more things, I went through this game in one hour, and it doesn't save (you have to enter a code you get every two levels). This was a waste of $30. I hope this review helped.

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent game
Fifa 2005 for the other systems is great so I figured I would buy it for Gameboy Advance. When I received it I was impressed by the graphics supported by the hand-held system. I was also wondering how great the controlling would be with only 4 buttons. Well, it turned out that it is very easy to control the players in this game. The career mode lets you sign a 5 season contract and is very fun. This game is very entertaining and has a lot of replay value. Any fan of soccer games would enjoy this, better yet any fan of sports games would enjoy this. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Need for Speed Underground 2: It's Addictive
Note: Please read bottom of review before reading!

NFS Underground 2 is a very good game. It has 4 modes and 2 are good that I know of. I'll explain everything in the main menu. They are Race Now which lets you have quick race (that shouldn't make you that mad if you lose), Go Underground, in other words, the campaign, which you go to to unlock cars, upgrades, and tracks for play in the Race Now mode, Mini Games which really isn't worth doing, Garage where you work on your cars, Profile where you can look at how much of the game you completed, your personal stats, high scores, and go to options, and Multiplayer which I haven't done yet so I can't tell anything else than you do stuff with others (by linking!). There are 10 different things for upgrading and there is a section where you can change your cars looks to make it attractive. Before I end, I would like to share a few things. When you have driven over 500 miles, you get a Nissan Skyline NFS style. And the best cars are Mitshubishi Lancer EVO VIII (all-around) and Nissan Skyline (speed). If you like rock you'll love this music, if not you'll need to turn the sound off!

If you do not like short games, please go find
    another game!

4-0 out of 5 stars not as good as the first
this game, while having some great improvements added, is not as good as the first. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great for ALL Ages!
This is one of the most original games in ages. Play Billy Hatcher in a chicken suit rolling eggs through mazes and hatching eggs to free the Elder Chickens or morning will never return to the world. It sounds incredibly corny but it's amazingly cute and the music is very catchy.

One mode of play (described above) is Story Mode and there is also a multi-player battle mode. The only thing I wish it had was a cooperative multi-player mode and this is the only reason I did not give it 5-stars overall.

This is not a "button masher" and is good even for small children that don't read yet. If they can't read someone will need to help them out until they learn the controls but after that it's just non-stop fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is awsome!
This game is awesome! You wouldn't know 'cuz I'm billy's #1 fan! Sonic is in it, it's a two-player, and my sister and I play it all the time. Cute characters. This game is the best!

4-0 out of 5 stars Of course there are some problems...
...But overall this game is fun! It's not for everyone, but not every game is.People who have no time for imaginitive fun, for example, may not enjoy this game.

I love the cartoon-ish expressions.I love the lilting, goofy music. The controls are... difficult, at times. But the originality and light-heartedness of the game make up for it.Oh, and the cameos of course.;) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We have a Gameboy for each member of our family
I remember the good ol days when my husband and I shared a game boy (not color or advance) we thought it was the best in the world. Enter 3 boys and each wants the bigger toy. I am very pleased with This game boy color (Atomic Purple) Looks cool for the pre-teen set and for the younger crowd it could not get better. We actually Bought this for our oldest son for Christmas a few years ago only the game boy and bought each Accessory item seperate. I know I paid a lot more than it is listed here after all was said and done plus we went to at least 6 stores to find all the different gizmos and gadgets that they offer here in one nice neat package (do yourself a favor Buy Now! It is not worth the shopping grief...)The Game Boy has now been passed to the youngest boy in our family. He is only 4 Big Brother saw an chance to get the Pokemon Special Edition and decided his little brother needed a game boy. I think it is a life saver on long drives and when I want to shop and they are bored :)If I could just get them to stop fighting over one game...oh well nothing is perfect. I highly recommend, trust me the ultimate test is that it has survived years with 2 of my boys with out a scratch...no break downs virtually plays by itself. It cannot be destroyed!

1-0 out of 5 stars WHERE IS IT?
I ordered this item on dec 10th, shipping tells me it was shipped on dec 13. Today is the 20th and still there is no tracking number next to item. And has not been delivered to my home. However, items that I ordered that were shipped on the 18th have been delivered to my home. WHERE IS IT???

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Good For Gameboy Advance
This game is a dissapointment. Due to the gameboy's small screen and lack of buttons this game is extremely frustrating...not to mention the game's insane difficulty. Fortunately on Gamecube/PS2/XBox this game is much better.

    Editorial Review

Who would have thought a new Game Boy Color game, based on an anime series, could be this original and fun for all ages? Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite! is a surprisingly good game. You play as Hamtaro, a cute hamster. Your mission is simple: Bring 12 of your Ham-Ham (or hamster) friends back to the Ham-Ham clubhouse, where Boss--the head hamster--has a surprise for everyone.

But how do you convince your Ham-Ham friends to come back with you to the clubhouse? With Ham-Chat, the secret hamster language around which the whole game revolves. Each new Ham-Chat word lets you perform new actions. You can say hi to other hamsters, apologize to them, or compliment them. You can also learn special words that allow you to perform special actions, such as digging holes, doing summersaults, or climbing. But the best part of Ham-Chat is that each word is associated with a move, so when you go to the clubhouse's dance room, you can link your Ham-Chat words together and Ham-Jam. With a link cable, you can trade your dance with friends.

You can buy 30 different outfits for Hamtaro and try stuff on back at the clubhouse. You can take a photo that can be displayed in the room and on the title screen, and as you play the game, new places within Hamtaro's neighborhood become accessible. All of this makes a great game that children will love, especially those who are fans of the show. Some adults may find it too cute to resist, too. --Bryan Karsh

    Pros:

    • Some of the best Game Boy Color graphics you're likely to see
    • Make your own dances
    • Take pictures of Hamtaro
    • Explore Hamtaro's neighborhood
    Cons:
    • You can't transfer dances to Game Boy Advance

1-0 out of 5 stars O My gosh! Worst game ever!
I dont even know where to begin... Lets see, i'll just ease you into this so you wont be overwhelmed with the things i'm going to say.
First of all, who the heck makes a story with a plot line as dumb as this?! I mean sure you'd probly like it if you are married toa bag of skittles, but COME ON PEOPLE! you start out in a "forest" making your way to a village. You encounter hideous beasts, and have only a staff to fight with, no training, magic, special attacks/abilities... NOTHING! When you get to the village there is this assinine archer that walks back and fourth on his stupid little post shooting at you, then when you look around to see whats hitting you, you get shot and die. the charecter dialoug is so out of sync, and the graphics are 3rd grade. Words cant describe how bad a game this is!
    So, my over all rating
    Plot 0/10
    Music 2/10
    Charecter development 1/10
    Graphics -5/10
    Dialouge 1/10
PS-(This game is just another wannabe FF! It mocks every single game that has ever been made!)

1-0 out of 5 stars ahhhh!!!
what to say what to say...hmmm if you like playing a game that centers around skittles than this is your game!! I so enjoyed hearing the word skittles ever ten seconds. it would be okay, if was easy....but no, its one of those games that is cheesy and its fairly hard to play....dont buy it at all!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Come on guys, I've seen a lot worse....
The game isn't all that bad. I've played alot of games in my time and found some awlful games. Waisted money, time and energy. Darkened skye is a little hard, well, pretty hard, and without the walkthru, I most likely wouldn't have gotton thru it either. Although, it kept me entertained, it's a good leangth, and cute to say the least. Although, after I got the first two birds in Zen'jai hills, for some reason I couldn't cross the bridge for a long time, I can't figure that one out.
But, I enjoyed it for the most part, and would buy part 2 if it came out.

5-0 out of 5 stars A pretty good deal
Since GameBoy Advance Came on the market GameBoy Colors have been pretty hard to find. The only places you'll normally find them are in pawn shops, old game shops or e-bay. I, untill now, have not seen a single GameBoy Color being sold in a major retailer in about 4 years. Not only is it hard to find new, factory sealed GameBoy colors, but the games sometimes can be even harder to find new and in mint condition. Sure, it looks a bit pricey, but think about it, you're getting a mint new gameboy Color, two games, a screan light, and a link cable. All of which are new! Not only is the GameBoy new, its limited edition, which means not as many of them were made as the normal colors. In the eyes of a colector or a true Pokemon fan, it is priceless.

1-0 out of 5 stars Yet another poor X-Men game
Here is yet another poor X-Men game for the GBC courtesy of Activision, only this one is the worst. While the PS1 version of X-Men: Mutant Academy wasn't half bad, this GBC conversion is downright terrible thanks to the clunky controls, insanely easy difficulty, bland backgrounds, and scratchy sound. While the player animations are colorful, they are quite jerky, and while the selection of fighters is nice, there is just something more to be desired. All in all, even if your the biggest X-Men fan, leave this game on the shelf, it's terrible.

4-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST GAME
THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED. IF YOU BUY IT YOU'LL BE AMAZED HOW COOL THIS GAME IS.

4-0 out of 5 stars 6 Year Old Gamer and his Mom
I purchased this game for my son at Christmas (age 5).This is one the games that he plays often. The game itself is really great. There are alot of charcaters to choose from and the endless battle of whom is toughest is the reason why I give this game a 4.The bases of this game is one on one fighting and though there is no blood shed, parents be warned.I continually hear, "Mom, come watch me get this guy,"I think it sends the wrong message to young children but, there are much worse games out there. The graphics are great and the movements of the charcaters are not "violent" but they do fight. My son picks up this particular game because he really enjoys it and doesn't think about the underline message. For him, its a great game! ... I only play this game when I have at the least, 2 hours.Since it's a pain to save the game I don't.It's easy until you hit the Phil's fastion and floor number 5.I took me 45 minuts to get there and 45 playing Phil's Fation and not winning.Thats why you need a while that you don't have to stop.I highly reccoment it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool !!!!
I purchased this software for my 5 year old who just loves the
rugrats - she never misses a show. Anyhow, when she first played with the cd she would not let me help her and she really loved it and i just sat there for a while with in case she needed help, but she she did not. The cd is fun, has cool music your child can create on their own, musical videos along w/ Angelica dancing to some cool and hip music, etc. Overall, I rated it a 4 because after a while ( about 4-6 weeks) my daughter wanted to play with other cds. I just thinkthey could have added some other activites.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Frustrating
Totally Angelica is fun but then there's the torment of fluffy's pinball game. Also there's that part of the game where you have to save the password. I never save my password because: 1. it's takes too long to type it back in, and 2. it's takes too long to write down! i liked picking out the fashions, playing the mini games, and getting the scores from the judges. but for people who get frustrated easily, DON'T SAVE YOUR PASSWORD! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Game Boy game ever; second best Zelda game ever
With The Minish Cap coming out soon, and looking to be another disappointment (I will reserve final judgment until I actually play it, but it has a definite Wind Waker vibe), the handheld gamer would do well to revisit this classic. The gameplay is incredible and compelling and the story is perhaps the best in the series; the only two faults with this game are minor for any true gamer. The graphics aren't very good; the sprites are simply poorer-quality A Link to the Past sprites oftentimes, but the game is so good one will hardly notice. The sound effects are pretty poor, but, thankfully, there's always the music to compensate for that...and what good music.

It feels like ALttP, looks like it, plays like it, and is second only to that excellent SNES game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Unstoppable!!!
I borrowed this game from a friend and I couldn't put it down! YOU HEAR ME?! I was playing for three hours straight until I had to give it back.I was at the end of Face Shrine.GET THIS GAME.It's worth the money.

4-0 out of 5 stars fun but frusterating game
I think that this is a really fun game and all, but it is really frusterating trying to get past that seventh level. If anyone has some advice for me it would be really appreciated. The reason I rate this game with four stars overall is because of the thought they put into making it but it would have been five stars if it had anything to do with the fabled princess Zelda from the other games. But this game is ultimatley fun and anyone who hasn't tried it should try it.Another game or two people should try is The Legand of Zelda a Link to the Past, The Legand of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and The Legand of Zelda Majora's Mask.Personally I've beaten all the games listed there. ... Editorial Review

Trying to get Donkey Kong Country onto Game Boy must have beensomething like trying to force a gorilla into a banana suit. Yes, it must havebeen quite a hairy experience for the folks at Rare; but, somehow, some way, they pulled it off.

The Game Boy version of DKC isn't as colorful as the Super Nintendoversion, and the sound quality takes a big hit, but the fun of the originalaction title remains.

Players will spend hours bouncing and swinging through levels, and looking forbananas and hidden minigames that can be opened up by pounding the ground andthrowing TNT into walls. There's also a bit of fast-paced mine-car riding, andplayers can switch between Donkey and the scrawnier Diddy when they lumberthrough levels.

One problem with the translation is quirky hit detection. In other words, players might think that they jumped on an enemy's head properly, but end updying anyway. This is a small price to pay for so much Nintendo goodness in aportable package. --Robb Guido

    Pros:

    • Near-perfect replica of the original Super Nintendo classic
    • Two bonus minigames--new to this version

5-0 out of 5 stars GBC DK Country
It's kinda easy, but great graphics for a Game Boy Color game! It has music that it's so good, if you don't play in months, you'll hear the sound of DK Country. Mainpoint: GET IT! Since none are here, go to the Computer & Video Games area of Amazon and get it there!

2-0 out of 5 stars I regret it...
I should have waited for the GBA version. Some musics are changed, controls are harder, graphics horribles and the gameplay is a little bit... gay. Too easy to die. I'll probably buy the GBA version if its price become lower.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Son Of Super Mario Bros. 3 And Super Mario Land
WOW, I love this game.It is the best non-colorized portable Mario side-scroller I have ever played. This is one of the best game boy action games out there, along with donkey kong land 1-3, Metroid II, The Kirby games, and others. The rabbit ears kick but and I love the space zone.

Graphics-4/5, almost like black-and-white super mario world.

Play Control-5/5, Extremely Tight, and not too complex.

Game Design-4/5, It would be perfect, but it lacks an ice zone or a desert zone. It's a bit short compared to, oh say, Super Mario World, but it has high replay value.Hidden Levels too!

Satisfaction-6/5 Expert players may beat it in a week or two, but you want to play this forever!!!!!!!!!!

Sound-4/5- The Sound is almost as good as SMB3's, but the music isn't perfect, but for a game boy game, it's fairly solid.

the good- cool enemies, powers, levels. great replay value.

the bad- it's a tad short.

the ugly- The Three Little Pigs and Wario.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than the first one.
Super Mario Land 2 is way better than its first one.In this "retro review" we're going to look at what made this one of the best GB games of its time (but too bad just a year later we'd get "The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening").

The graphics were a major step above the first one and were actually stunning visuals for the GB. They look ALMOST like a snazzy early SNES game.

Gameplay actually very closely resembles Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. You've got your power ups that unlike the first Super Mario Land can actually TELL you grabbed them. The Flower Power up and the Bunny Ears (only seen in this one) are nice. The Bunny Ears is like the leaf in SMB3. Except that Mario can't fly but they allow him to glide down to safety.

The music is great for its time and even now it isn't bad. It's been about 11 years since its release and the tunes still play out in my head at times.

The Map is used in this one as well.Except you can't go and challenge old bosses which kind of stinks.

The story follows that Mario has lost his castle to Wario (no saving Princess Daisy in this one) and he can only get back into his castel using the six golden coins so he must set out to find them in one of the six different "Zones."What's nice about this is that you aren't forced to take the zones in any specific order at all! What's not to like about that. However, if you get a game over you have to find all six coins again.

For those whinning about no saving on Super Mario Land you can finally stop your bitchin' because this game incorporates an auto-save feature. It works well but there are moments where the game will erase the data on its own.

Overall this is still a worthwhile game even so many years later.Grab this game if you can and see what happens! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My first game
This was the first game I EVER played. It really is cool, with 12
levels and plenty of secrets. Like in the third level, if you go all the way to the left and jump, it revels a block that will take you up to the cealing to get a bunch of coins, or that you can go inside some of the flower pots. I've been playing this game for 9 years, and I'm certain I don't know all the secrets. Anywho, people are complaining that you can't save: here's the question: why do you need to? The game can be beaten in thirty minutes...non-saving just adds to the replay value.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the finest GB games ever made
Alright, I know there are those with the gripes (can't save, only 12 levels, blah blah blah) but this game is pretty old guys. This game was released in 1989 and there weren't very many games back then that you actually could save on.Second, there are only 12 levels and they're extremely short. You can beat the game in simply 30 minutes. There should be no reason why anyone should have to save at all. It's very easy to rack up several lives thanks to the bonus game that Nintendo threw in as well.

For 1989 and for the early years of the Gameboy these graphics aren't bad. While they look like something seen on a graphing calculator they're not bad considering its age.

The game isn't too hard, but it isn't so easy either. The gameplay is similar to the original Mario Bros. on the NES.Except that you can't tell which power up you've got. That could be a problem.

The game can be played by just about anyone.Sure you can't save but you've got to remember the games AGE!Saving wouldn't become a norm until the early 90's in the day and age of the SNES. ...
