1-0 out of 5 stars it stinks
i am a very good pitcher and this thing takes alot of time to put it together and after i put it together i through the ball so hard that it ripped then i pitched again rip it is cheap

1-0 out of 5 stars Baseball disappointment
Our family was disappointed with this toy.My son LOVES baseball, and we thought this would be great.Instead, it was difficult to assemble, and once we got it together is came apart easily, and it did not work most of the time.A real disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves This!!!!!
I recently purchased this Baseball Game for my 8 year old son who loves Pedro Martinez, and he just adores this game!! He pretends he's Pedro and that he's pitching in the World Series againt the Cardinals. The game works great! He loves the announcer and umpire calls. I was skeptical when I bought this toy, b/c I wasn't sure it would do everything it claimed on the web site, and it does! My son can now practice in the winter time in our basement on his throws for spring league. Any kid that loves baseball will really enjoy this game. Just wanted to share my son's enjoyment. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of our family favorites!
My kids (ages 6, 8, and 10) LOVE this game which we've had for about a year.We play a slightly different variety when the older kids are playing... you can hold one card in your hand instead of playing every card immediately. This puts a little bit of strategy into the game.

I brought this game along to a sleepover with my daughter's Girl Scout troop (a bunch of 10-year olds) and they couldn't get enough of this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Slithery fun for all..in every home should have at least one
I own it and I don't even have kids!(I do have two pet snakes, though.)

Another benefit of his besides those mentioned in the other reviews...Hisss is a good physical game too, because you have to stre-e-e-tch your body to place the cards in position when the snakes get long.

Here's a tip - buy two sets and play with 100 cards instead of 50.This makes even longer snakes possible and also gives you two of every head and tail card!Just make plenty of floor space available!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy and Daddy's favorite game
If it were up to me, I'd burn Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. This game is so much "funner".It's different each time you play.My husband and I even played it by ourselves one night. Our four year old daughter absolutely loves it.Additionally, the cards are very thick and sturdy and will travel well. ... VIDEONOW Jr. is the first full-color, personal video player designed specifically for preschoolers. And while the player itself is very impressive, with oversized buttons that make it easy for little hands to operate and rubberized bumpers designed to withstand the day-to-day bumps and rough handling that only preschoolers can dish out, the best thing about this portable media player is the wide variety of high-quality programming you can purchase for theplayer in the form of the VIDEONOW Jr.personal video discs. Featuring some of the most highly regarded early learning programming on TV, including Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues, The Wiggles, Barney, and Sesame Street, all of the personal video discs for the VIDEONOW Jr. player are designed to educate while they entertain. "I spy with my little eye" is the chiming chorus of road tripswith kids, and also now of this game for preschoolers. It developsreading skills through colors, pictures--the high-impact compositionsof everyday stuff from the I Spy books by Jean Marzollo--andrhymes. Different games are possible with the same set of easy-to-readcards: listening, rhyming, and matching. Older kids can play with theiryounger, nonreading siblings without any rivalry. 4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for the little ones
I just wanted to correct the manufacture's age recommendation info. provided at the beginning of the item description. The box says it is for children aged 3-6.My 3 & 6 year old can both play it.In reference to the first reviewer who did not recommend the game - there are 5 different ways to play which makes the game more challenging for older kids.

2-0 out of 5 stars Small number of pieces allows for easy memorization....
My daughter (3 at the time) received this as a Christmas present and it took her all of 10 minutes to memorize where the pieces belong thus ending the usefulness of the game. The game itself only comes with 12 puzzle pairs (24 total pieces).I would avoid this game entirely.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Batteries required!
This game was given to our 3 year old as a gift and he loves it.His little sister, who is two, also loves this game. This game really helps to develop a childs ability to concentrate on visual cues.It is basically a matching game combined with a puzzle concept. There are no complex rules to learn, so within minutes of opening the box any child can begin to play and enjoy this game.As each match is made the child receives immediate reward and motivation to find a new match.Best of all is that this is a simple game with no buzzers or bells and is best played with the TV turned off. ... Editorial Review

Much like playing 20 questions, this wonderful game sharpens thinking skills while providing lots of competitive fun. It begins when 25 picture pieces are laid out in a five-inch-by-five-inch square. One player hides a token while the others try to find it by asking questions about the picture it's under. If the player asks, "Can it fly?" and the other player says "No," all squares with flying things are removed. If a player asks, "Is it alive?" and the other player answers, "Yes," all squares depicting nonliving things are removed, and so. This process continues until players have narrowed down the square that hides the token. The game is deceptively simple, yet calls for carefully thought-out questioning to win quickly. It's fun for two to four players and requires no reading. --Lee Strucker ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game.
The best part of this game is that with a small change to the rules my 5 and 3 year old can play by themselves. In the rules
every player is given so many small red chips. Then these chips are given to the hider.Since we have a small baby crawling around, I didn't like the idea of all these chips so we just hide the one chip and still have tons of fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy Playing
Secret Square is one of several games we bought that we still play. Older kids can play according to the instructions, but it is easy to simplify the instructions for younger children: start with fewer squares so they can guess the secret square more quickly. It can be used to help kids learn to work together as a team to find the right answer, or it may be played competitively. The picture stickers do not come attached to the squares. You must attach them to the squares yourself. If you are giving this game as a gift, put all the stickers on the squares ahead of time so the kids can get right to playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great deductive reasoning skills
My son received this game when he was 5 and he still likes playing it 2 years later. It is fun without the pressure of a win/lose scenerio.I'm ordering one for my nephew who just turned 5. I highly recommend this game. ... Read more

The Wheels on the Bus Game will probably drive adults 'round and 'roundthe bend, with its all-talking, all-singing action, powered by three AAbatteries (not included). But designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, this combinationof memory game, play-acting, and sing-along fits nicely into Milton Bradley's"My First Games" portfolio. Players take turns rolling the musical yellow bus totheir space on the board. Pressing the hood tells them which of the four tokens(door, wiper, horn, or wheel) to locate by turning over any two of the 20 face- down tokens. Make a match, and keep the token; collect all four, and it's anexpress ride to the winner's circle. --Tony Mason ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Annoying toy!!
I had seen this toy on tv and my son (5 years) wanted it so we bought it for Christmas. It is so annoying! The music on the school bus is so loud and there is no on/off switch. When we put it up and something bumps it, it goes off with the music.I finally just took the batteries off.My son played with it a little and now he is tired of it.I would save your money and buy a better game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not getting the credit it deserves
We got this as a gift for my 3 year old and he absolutely loved it. Granted the song gets old but what toy that plays music doesn't? My kids never got tired of it. What is nice is you can play the easier level for young kids and as they get older you can use it as a more difficult matching game. The best part is the bus plays the entire "Wheels on the bus" song at the end and the kids can do all the motions that go with the song. I would recommend it and I think it is taking an unfair rap on these reviews.

1-0 out of 5 stars VERY ANNOYING
This game is very annoying. The bus never is silent. It plays over and over even if you are not playing the game. You can't cut it off. We finally through it outside in the sandbox and still sometimes it will play when we are out in the yard. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Honey Bee Tree
Our 6 yr old received this for Christmas. It takes a bit of time to set up, but worth the effort.I found that it's much easier if you follow the slant of the holes (which seems to guide you to another hole). Our 4 year old also enjoyed playing the game and surprised us with her ability to pull out the sticks ever so carefully! Each time the bees started to fall the kids would squeal and we would all start laughing.I feel the game encourages critical thinking and improves fine motor skills.Kids get to see what happens when a stick is chosen quickly vs a carefully selected stick.Bees could be a choking hazard if you have kids that frequently put things in their mouth.I would recommend that this game be purchased for 4 - 7 year olds as it may be to basic for an older child.

3-0 out of 5 stars not for the recomended age
Pretty much this game is just like the game 'ker-plunk'.You put in the little poles to hold the marbles up and pull them out one at a time without letting the marbels (bees in this case) fall through. They just dressed it up a bit to make it more appealing to younger kids. They would probably like the bees falling out, but not the settup and wouldnt understand to "game part" or strategy. My opinion, get it for an older child (7 or up), since they will be able to set it up and understand it on thier own.Or if they wont like the tree and honey design, go with Ker-Plunk.I think that is on here too!

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS TOY
Takes far too long to set up; bees are too small (smaller than a grape) and clearly a choking hazard. My 3 year old likes rolling the bees on our hardwood floors and we inevitably miss one or 2 when cleaning up, so someone ends up slipping on it.She doesn't have the patience to wait for it to be fully set up.The tree comes apart too easily. This was a gift that is now going to be given away. ... Sometimes you can't help but wonder about the original meeting where the idea for a toy was first introduced. Because in order to get Operation Brain Surgery produced, someone must have sat down in a room somewhere and explained that they were proposing a game based on brain surgery. And that they were serious. As strange as that meeting must surely have been, the game is actually a lot of fun in a bizarre kind of way. In fact, its very strangeness probably makes it even more fun. The patient (same big-nosed guy from the original Operation game) gives encouragement and ribbing to players throughout the game. The object is to remove objects such as a bird (for "bird brain"), train (for "train of thought"), and egg (for "egg head"). As in Operation, it takes a steady hand to avoid upsetting the patient and win the game. --John Moe ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Eh?!
I bought this for my 5 year old for her birthday-she tried to play it with her 3 year old sister- and it is.....for a better word.... an "alright" game. The idea of trying to find the matching piece to your chosen card is a good idea-but somewhere along the line the thrill of the game gets lost-does not really keep them too interested in continuing with the game...find a better place to put your $21.00 bucks...maybe their piggie bank...or even a better idea-keep it in your wallet.
I would not really recommend this.
The original Operation game with the tweezers and buzzer that would sound off if you touched the sides, was the one that I played with as a kid(showing my age much?) I prefer the old to the new.

3-0 out of 5 stars kids seem to like it OK.
My 4 yr. old wanted this one. But when we turned it on to play it, & hit the nose timer, she freaked out, started crying, and ran to her room until we turned it off. My 3 yr. old son likes it. My daughter will only play this with the game turned off. No timer. Its an ok game, & teaches kids to concentrate & rely on something other than their sence of sight to determine what things are. I think we all would have preferred a different game. We play games daily, and I don't see this one being played very often.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is a horrible toy

This Colorforms Dress-Up Activity Set helps teach two crucial things that are often difficult for kids to learn: taking turns and coordination. Each player begins with a shiny cardboard character wearing a swimsuit and in desperate need of fashion assistance. The object of the game is to assemble a fabulous Colorforms outfit for your character. Spin the spinner for type of clothing--shoes, skirt or pants, shirt, purse, glasses, necklace, or hat.Pick out the piece that's just right and place it on your character--it sticks like magic! The first person to complete an ensemble wins the game. No reading is required, so once kids understand the rules they can play independently. --Lisa Whipple ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WE LOVE THIS GAME

5-0 out of 5 stars More fun more sturdy version of a classic board game
My daughter who's almost 3 has little idea of how to play and is yet very excited about playing it, because it has the familiar Sesame Street characters that she loves. We tried the original, but she quickly lost interest, because the pieces are flimsy and hard to play with.

The pawns are much better than the original. The original has annoying cardboard pieces that fit into plastic stands.Sesame Street has 4 sturdy solid plastic pieces that are Zoe, Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster. My daughter enjoys playing with these pieces just on their own.The pieces have wide bases, which makes it easy to stand them up.However only one piece will fit on a square at a time.

Like the original Chutes and Ladders, the game consists of a board of 100 squares, and a spinner with the numbers 1 to 6. The board seems visually appealing to kids, because my daughter just likes to look at it sometimes. As far as I can tell, the placement of the chutes and ladders is the same as in the original. The chutes mostly show accidents of various Sesame Street characters like tripping on a banana peel. Unlike the original, there's only two chutes that show morals: Zoe won't share with Elmo and Cookie Monster eats too many cookies and gets a stomach-ache. The ladders show the kindness or heroism of Sesame Street characters like cooperation. So the board has a more positive feeling than the original.

The spinner is separate from the box which is nice.

For those not familiar with the original, here's a further review. You take turns. You spin the spinner and move your piece the appropriate number of spaces. If you land at the top of a chute, you slide down it to a different space. If you land on at the bottom of a ladder, you climb up to a new space.

It's a very simple game which teaches young kids how to count, recognize numbers, take turns, and deal with the wins and losses of playing a game.Like most simple kids' games, it's pretty boring unless you're playing it with someone who's still learning these skills and is excited about it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars OK GAME
This is an ok kids handheld game.I agree w/everyone else that it definately needs an off switch. My daughter keeps hers in my car so instead of sounding off in the middle of the night it sounds off with every turn I make! Also sometimes my daughter is trying to push the buttons to select the answer and they do not work. She is continuously yelling "I did push it!" as if the game can understand her:)Overall it is a good idea though and has different levels for beginers. You can just chose different body parts to make a silly potato or it will flash an already made potato and then you have to choose the correct parts, very good memory game(plus some more games that I have not personally tested). It is a little loud and of course being a potato head ithas an annoying voice but has been well played with by my 4 year old.

5-0 out of 5 stars my son never laughed so hard
My son recently received this as a second hand gift from his 7 year old cosin. The toy lasted 3 solid years in her hands and only 4 days in my son's. Only due to the fact that he hit the screen with a toy hammer. This toy captured my son's attention. He actually sat in one spot motionless for almost an hour. I have never heard my son laugh so hard as to when Mr. Potato head sneezes and says,"oops, I've lost all my parts". As for the "off" switch, it turns itself off there fore saving the batteries, and it only turns itself back on unprovoked when the batteries are dying.

5-0 out of 5 stars A busy Mom
My daughter is five and loves this toy. I was actually shocked to see so many poor reviews. The automatic shut off isnt that bad, it's actually a blessing if you ask me, It prompts the child to play (pay attention) about 4 times and then shuts itself off.

My daughter loves the different activities it offers, and she just totally gets a kick out of making Mr. Potato head dress silly. ... Read more

Two old favorites often make a winning combination when they are brought together, as is proven here in this Pooh edition of Candy Land. Winnie the Pooh and his friends, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger, move along the winding path of the game board, picking up treats for a picnic in the 100 Acre Wood. No reading is required to play. Children draw cards and then use their color-recognition and symbol-matching skills to advance to the appropriate location on the board. Many adults will recognize this classic game from their own childhood and will enjoy sharing it with the kids now in their lives. A.A. 2-0 out of 5 stars Pooh Lover but not this game!!
My 4 & 2 1/2 year olds love Pooh but this game is not what I expected. There are MANY pieces that pop into the board to decorate it and they get in the way of the game. But my biggest complaint of this game is the colors. They are NOT your traditional Red, Oragne, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Green they are in between colors like yellow-orange, grenish-blue, orange-red etc.YIKES!!I am trying to teach my kids the colors as we play the game and I have trouble naming the colors.I donated my Pooh game and bought the regular Candy Land!!The colors are more vibrant and not mistakable for another color!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not happy with this game.
I wasn't sure about the game before I bought it, and now that I own it.I really dislike it!

This is why:

The game looks more like a Winnie the Pooh Birthday Party than a Picnic.

The gameboard feels very cluttered with all of the winnie the pooh cardboard standing parts.

The gameboard is even worse because because the colored squares seem extra small, and the playing pieces are extra big.

Eeyore, if placed on the board with his head facing forward, will take up 3 spaces.

The colors are not simple colors making the teaching value of this game very poor.

I suggest buying the original game, because this one is truly not that good.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Cute

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome individual game
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 18 month old. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old just on a whim. She loves it and it gives me time to get a few things done while she's playing. It's very cute and she likes to dance to the song.
It's pretty educational. Although, I think she might be a tad bit too old for it, but who cares as long as she's having fun?!
I think it's fantastic toy and well worth the price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great "game" for a 2 year old...
We had bought this handheld game for our 'almost' 2 year old daughter to put in her stocking on Christmas, however, as you can tell from the date of this review - we gave it to her early!LOL!

She loves animals - so I knew she would love this 'game'.She has pretty much mastered it - but that does not stop her from wanting to play with it time and time again. She loves that she can match the baby animals with their mommys and she LOVES hearing the sounds that the animals make! She also really likes to sing along with the song "Old Macdonald"!

The three different game levels are easy for a 2 year old to understand. The first is just going through the animals - pushing a button and then listening as it sings through the 'Old Macdonald" song - putting in the name of the animal that was pushed. The second game level is matching the Mommy and babies!VERY CUTE!And my daughters FAVORITE game! The game will say something like, "Can you help the mommy horse find her baby?" and when the correct button is pushed it will sing through the song again. The third game is a sound matching game.It will ask you "who's mommy makes a sound like this" and then it will make the sound of one of the animals and then the child is to identify which animal makes that sound.Again, when the correct 'button' is pushed it will sing through the song.

Overall - it's a great game and can keep a child entertained for a good period of time! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
I didn't buy this as a 2 pack. I only have the what goes together game but my son loves it. i got it for him when he was two and we still play it weekly. I'm going to order this so that I can get the shapes and colors game and plan on giving the other game to a toy drive for christmas. It's a great game to have one on one time with your child and also a game they can play alone. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Are you kidding me?
I purchased this for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves puzzles, and I thought this would be a good way to start introducing math concepts to her. However, I didn't make it past opening the box. Although the picture of the box shown here appears fine, the example that is shown on the other side of the box is 7 + 2= 5 ! Yikes, that's not exactly what I had in mind to teach her.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great first toy for child to learn addition!
I think this toy is very fun, educational, durable and a great value for the money. The pieces are made of thick cardboard and have great pictures on them! I really like the fact that the pieces fit together and a child can really begin to understand the concepts of addition and subtraction by counting the cute pictures that they put on the pieces.Another great feature is that you fit 2 pieces together for addition and when you flip it over it has subraction on the other side. For instance, you have "2 + 2 =4" and then when you flip the "2 + 2" piece over it will have "5 - 1"and then the answer is still 4.It shows how different addition and subtraction equations have the same answer.

Definitely a great value and a fun first toy to introduce addition & subtraction! It isn't frustrating and since it is a puzzle, kids think that it is fun too!I was very happy to see pictures on the pieces like ladybugs, cookies, ice cream cones, etc.... It made it more fun for my son to look at and count the objects!Even if a child doesn't know the answer, he can match up the pictures on the answer piece w/ the pictures on the equation piece and get the right answer. It sets them up to succeed each time so it makes it fun to learn!!!! ...
