Editorial Review

Spongebob Squarepants, the jovial and slightly thick cartoon character who famously lives in a pineapple under the sea, always seems ready for a party. In this incarnation, he has become an actual party favor, taking the form of a festive piñata. He stands about two feet tall and is covered in paper fringe with multi-colored tassels on his bottom. A secret hole on the side allows you to fill him up with candy, toys, or Krabbie Patties. Spongebob is constructed of fairly thick papier-mâché, so thick in fact that we suspect it might be tricky to actually bust the guy open to receive the goodies inside. But you may wish to instead leave him in tact so that he may attend more parties in the future. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars He is so cute how can you not like him!
I fell in love with this guy soon as I saw him on the store shelf - who could not fall for Sponge Bob - he is so silly (but so oblivious to the fact)that you just gotta love the guy.

My (almost) two year old daughter just adores Sponge Bob (think that was one of her first words)- and right now we are on a quest to find anything Sponge Bob - this one is ment to be a pinata - but how could you dystroy him?.... nah we are keeping him as decoration for the party (which is of course is theam all Sponge Bob)and after I will propaply hang him from her ceiling in her bedroom.

It may not be practical or very educational - but it's just pure fun! - and what little 2 year old can't identify with that! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A little difficult and not much to hold your interest
I remember having an ants in the pants toy when I was young so when I saw this SpongeBob version I thought my 4 year old would love it since she loves everything Spongebob.

It was way to difficult for her to be able to get the ants to fly. But even my 6, 7 and 9 year old had trouble with it. They are usually very easy to please and enjoy most games and toys. But they found this to be a little difficult and just not enough to keep them interested for more than about 3 or 4 minutes. Now these kids are not the type that get bored easily or are hard to please but this one didn't do it for them at all. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars I don't get it?
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter because she loves Dora.We opened it up, punched out all of the cards, and looked for the directions for the game.Well... there is no game.I have no idea what the point is of the game, so we had to make something up in order to use it.Needless to say, we've only played it once and my daughter hasn't asked for it again.Maybe we can play go fish with it next time.

1-0 out of 5 stars made of flimsy cardboard
the box sais "extra thick dominoes"I would hate to see regular thickness. These are thin peices of cardboard that you punch out.My kids can still play dominoes but the fun of standing them up and knocking them all down is so far from a possibility it isn't even funny.I thought this would be a good substitute for my little one.Her older sister has dominoes and my little one loves Dora. We may as well have cut up a box and glued paper pictures of dora on the and saved the 10 dollars.

4-0 out of 5 stars 3 yr olds favorite game
Again, once they come out with Dora toilet paper...my home will be 100% completely Dora....
Anyway - this game is great.I bought it for my daughter for Valentine's Day, not knowing if she'd like it.Well, she does. The dominos are cardboard, as you see in other posts. If your child is going to chew them, that is a problem. If your child is older and past the chew on everything stage, they are pretty durable. The pictures are bright and fun. They are educational because they teach children matching skills. My daughter has also created her own versions of the game, which have been quite fun too, so it can lead to imaginative play too.We have to play this game together at least 1x a day, so it makes for some good Mom/Daughter time too.I am very happy with this purchase. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME
My 6yr old daughter & 6yr old neice both have this game & both enjoying playing it.I enjoy playing along with them:)

5-0 out of 5 stars What's everyone complaining about? I LIKE it!
My 5 and 7 year old daughters absolutely love playing this game -- there is not much educational value, but what's wrong with Imagination, family members interacting, friendly competition and playing with cute little polly pocket dolls??? That is JUST AS IMPORTANT as what most would call "educational." (and can you believe that parent's review that says she's upset about the SUV?? give me a break and relax a little!)

As others have said, you move your Polly to each "store" on the board, draw a card, and if the appropriate piece of clothing is there, you can dress your polly with it and move on. What's wrong with that? It's fun, my girls enjoy it, and we play and laugh together -- I feel like waking them up now so we can play a late night game of Fashion Beach -- they'd love it! Play it with your kids, enjoy their company and innosence and don't worry that the paper picture of an SUV is going to corrupt their morals!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Teaching Materialism!Just what our children need!
My Mother in Law bought this total piece of junk for my 7 year old daughter. Absolutely no educational value. It actually says "Dash to the SUV to win the game!"
Sickening. I try to teach my child to be environmentally aware and this kind of junk is what is being marketed to her age group. Great. Thanks Mattel. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This Pixter software cartridge fits in the expansion slot of the Pixter creativity systems. With the black and white Rescue Hero Mission Masters software, you can choose from four mission locations: arctic, sea, wilderness or city. Within those mission locations, you have four activities to choose from. When you select the Scene Starters activity, you get your rescue mission assignment from Warren Waters. With Scene Starters, you can use digital stamps, shapes, or freeform drawing to add to one of the Pixter backgrounds. If you stamp a picture of a dog in the landscape, Warren Waters will tell you about a rescue involving animals that are in danger; if you put the fire stamp on something, he'll tell you there is a fire emergency, and so on. There are also puzzles to put together, a maze to solve, and a mix and match game. As with the other black and white Pixter software we played with, the activities are fun but we found the graphics to be outdated--some were just plain hard to figure out. --Megan Sullivan ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My boys couldn't stop laughing!
This has got to be one of the best games for little kids.My 4 and 6 year old boys couldn't stop laughing when we first played. The board is durable and bright and best of all, those pants are a hoot! They couldn't wait to land on the gigglepants square and get those pants on!Even us grownups had a great time. This is a perfect gift - we just bought it for a pre-school classmate and his mom loves it! Great game!

5-0 out of 5 stars My 3-Year Old Twins Favorite Game!
I have 3-year old twin girls who simply love Gigglepants. We have several other games, games that I was biased toward because I played them as a child. HOWEVER, all my kids want to play is Gigglepants, and now I am very biased toward Gigglepants.

The game is great because the kids receive someting after almost every turn. The game teaches numbers, colors, shapes and counting. Then there are the Gigglepants - when you land on the gigglepants spot on the board, you must put on the appropriately named Gigglepants quickly.Every time this happens the kids laugh hystericaly. My kids simply love the game - fun and educational!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I GOT ONE!!!
I got one of these horribly cute things at Toys R Us after searching the web with no luck for one, I went to an actual store. (Luckily the toys r us in the area is not very popular so I was able to find some things that are supposed to be rare) anyways although this toy will get boring after a while all of its cuteness makes up for it. I would recommend getting another voice activated pet with it if possible.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really great game for young and older kids to play together!
Wow - this is a terrific family game.We just played with our 6 and 4 year olds. The directions are easy and very clear. The game board is a nice weight. Here's what you do - each player is a certain color. On your turn, you roll the die and if you land on a space that has a burger ingredient (lettuce, tomato, cheese, burger, pickle, etc), you choose a small card from the center of the board to see if it matches the ingredient you landed on.

If it does, you keep the card and begin building your hamburger. If it does not match, you put the card back in the center where it came from, face down. When you choose a card, all players get to see what it is - therefore, if you end up putting the card back, they have a shot at remembering where the ingredient is.It's partly a memory game for sure.

Now, if you land on a space with a completed burger, you get to choose an ingredient that you need and you say it aloud and then choose a card from the center. This works well if you've seen where several ingredients are at and you can recall them. Finally, if you land on someone else's home space, that person gets to steal an ingredient from you!If you land on your own home space, you get to steal an ingredient from someone else.
The game is quite fun.The game is easily played by both younger kids and older kids - and it's equally fun for both.Worth the time and money. ... Read more

In this simple game of color matching, players must gather a nest full of similar ducklings to complete a nest. The star of the board is a big hard plastic mother goose who flaps her wings and says mostly "duck" and, once in a while, "goose". On "goose" players must grab for the nearest duckling and see if the color on the bottom matches the color they're collecting. The directions are simple and well explained, which should endear the game to young players to whom board games can often be overwhelming and frustrating. But the little ducklings are made of cardboard making us worry how likely they are to endure the punishment dished out by young players. But if the set can be kept in tact, this makes for a fun and simple introduction to game playing. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars really quiet
This game is easy to play and understand, even for kids 3 and 4 years. They have to put the card in Mother Goose, so it keeps them active in the game. It is really quiet though, so if the kids are too wound up to sit, they won't hear the directions from Mother Goose. With only a few songs, the game does get old quick, but it is always a fun game.

5-0 out of 5 stars DUCK DUCK GOOSE - A Winner !
We have the Duck, Duck Goose version of this game and my 2 yr old absolutely loves it !We started her on it at 25 months and caught on to the game after mom showed her how 1 round of play.

This game teaches color matching, taking turns, winning/losing, "missing a turn", and more.Basically you push the goose's head and each time it say "duck" or "goose".If it says "duck", you move to the next duck on the game board and push the goose's head again. If it says "goose", then you pick up the duck in front of the goose and see if it matches a color on your nest.If it does you place the duck on it; if not, you place the duck back on the board. Once you've matched 3 ducks to your nest, you win !

PROS
- Teaches color matching
- Pieces are large enough for small toddler to grab on to easily
- While playing game you push the Main Goose's head down; it's extremely easy to do so
- Catchy tune is played when there is a winner (you push the goose's tail and it sings a song)
- There is an on/off switch

CONS
- Duck playing pieces are made of cardboard, which over time could break-down
- Main Goose runs on batteries, which as we all know is the norm these days :)
- When you want to play for the 1st time or want to play after pressing the "winner" song, you must wait for the Goose to sing a welcome song; daughter usually keeps pushing the goose's head down while waiting for this song to start and finish, thinking that it will go quicker.
- No volume control

Daughter loves to run around the house with the goose in hand and sing and dance to it.

OVERALL An all around cute, fun game for those that are still a bit young for Chutes n Ladders or Candyland, but understand colors and taking turns.

1-0 out of 5 stars Way too Easy
This game really does not have much excitement and is very simplistic. My 3 years old was bored with it in about 2 minutes after getting it for christmas. The game is very simple and really does not hold a child's attention very well.It is durable and the singing Mother Goose is cute however. I guess it would be alright for a child who does not already know there nursery rhymes. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great idea!
And what fun bedtime is now! My guys (2 and 4 year olds) love acting out the activities. The Pilly Winks are delighful friends to spin, march, hop, quack and snuggle with. I sent the Pilly Winks pillows and book along with my kids to my sister's (their aunt) for a sleepover and it made bedtime easier for her, too. I especially liked that the whole activity doesn't take a long time...but is a special time. Very cute.

We love this product! Our 4 year old was; to say the least, a difficult child to get to bed.She knew all the excuses and every night turned into a hassle just to get her to sleep. Then we were given Pillywinks as a gift.
Bedtime now consists of reading one book (instead of 10) and fun activities that seem to use up that excess bedtime energy children seem to have. She sleeps with all the pillows and now the only problem we are having is getting her to let her little brother sleep with one.Maybe a Pillywink version regarding sharing would be good? ... 4-0 out of 5 stars No Sinking Feeling About this Purchase
I bought the VeggieTales "Don't Sink in the Sink!" Board Game for my 5-year-old nephew for Christmas. He's very into games right now and rates this one as his new favorite.Grown-ups and children alike enjoy playing this game. The bridge piece changes the board so that the sinkholes are in different locations each time you play. This keeps the game interesting time after time. From a grown-up perspective, I was ready to move on to another game after 5 or so plays. The kids would have played longer, but were persuaded to join us in a different game.

4-0 out of 5 stars 8 Kids Love It!
I'm an Aunt of 8 and every one of the kids has loved this toy!It works well for a wide age range, the older kids liked playing with the younger ones with this game.It changes enough to keep their interest.Exactly what I was looking for.

5-0 out of 5 stars A nice game to play with the kids
I really liked the clever way the game was designed. You play it in it's own very sturdy box and the black grid can be turned 4 different ways thereby varying the slots that "sink" you just enough to keep the kids on their toes. I even found it hard to remember where the losing slots were. I had a great time playing it with my 4 and 7 year olds. It's a nice family game that doesn't take too long to play - maybe 15 minutes or so. Make sure you play it twice in a row to experience the cleverness of the black grid. There are no small pieces and the life preserver was a cute twist. ... Read more

Especially appealing to energetic little critters, the classic toddler game Ants in the Pants requires no reading or waiting for turns. It's "One--two--three--Go!" and everyone is racing to pop all four of their bugs into Fido's bloomers. It's that simple. 4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun, but can be frustrating for little ones
I purchased this game (and others) as a Christmas present for my daycare kids this year.We opened it today and spent a long time all playing it on the kitchen floor.I had 2 & 3 yr olds and 9 yr olds (and me!) all playing. The very youngest ones got a little frustrated but I think with some practice they'll get it.They all still had fun with it and didn't want to put it away.I think this toy is great for working on their eye/hand coordination and problem solving. They also had to use some teamwork to retrieve each other's misses.

Since we got it today I can't say much about the durability. The bottom is plastic and the top is cardboard. The cardboard is thick, but I can see it deteriorating over time.. especially with a daycare!

Overall I think this is one of those great simple games that every kid should get to experience.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Durable and too difficult
We bought this for our daughter when she was younger. It was too frustrating. The ants are not made like they once were and it is near impossible to get them into the pants. We would cheat for her and pretend they went in after a long while of trying. Even we could not get them in. Plus the material is so cheesy that they break very easily.
