4-0 out of 5 stars Cute Poppa!
We got this for our 6 yr old and she loves it.I thought it was really cute and there are a lot of pieces for the pizza! Our 4 yr old found it intimidating at first. She started to have fun when we all screamed each time a topping was placed on the pizza and it began to tip!For a more challenging game, Poppa can stand without the base. The pizza is a little slick, but the pizza toppings were made of rubber which helped (a little) keep the pieces from slipping.A lot of fun for the whole family (our 12 yr old likes it too).I recommend this game for kids 6 yrs and up.

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT FAMILY FUN!
Our 5 year old daughter got this as a holiday gift. It's turned out to be a favorite game for the entire family and friends. It's a clever, fun, fast and creative game for the whole family.Even our 2 year old son loves it - however it changes the whole out come of the game.He stands back and just throws toppings at the wobbling pie but he's entertained for 15 or 20 minutes so that's worth a lot! We'd recommend this as a birthday gift to kids because it's unique and fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Challenging
My 5 year old twins really like this game...it is sometimes difficult to balance the toppings, but that is why they like it so much.On the other hand, my 3 year old finds it very frustrating. If you are considering purchasing this for a younger child you can rough up the pizza part with a piece of sand paper to help with the slippage. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for Kids of All Ages!!!
My husband and I routinely get together with his parents to play games and they picked up the Mex Train Game a few months back.WE LOVE THIS GAME!It's a lot of fun and easy to learn! We haven't played it with any kids, but it would certainly be easy enough for children and could even have educational value in recongizing colors, patterns, numbers (of pips), not to mention learning to use logic to find the best way to play your tiles.

The game is a twist from dominos where players create rows oftiles coming from a centerpiece, sort of like spokes. Each person has their own line where they have to match the tiles with the same number of pips on them and you can play off other's lines at times as well.It can be a long game as you basically play 13 rounds before you are done (unless you make a modifciation to this plan).Score is kept by how many pips a player has left in his hand after one player uses all of their tiles during a round. At the end of all rounds the player with the lowest score wins.

We've played with a few different rule modifications, like re-picking your tiles if you don't get a starting tile and just had a blast.I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games. We also enjoy playing Sequence, Tick, Sorry / Sorry Card Revenge, Scrabble, Poker, etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Adults too!
My parents brought this game to a family weekend - and we played it all weekend! The adults loved it, the kids loved it, and we could all play it together. Was interesting to see who identifies the patterns vs colors vs numbers, but the main thing was that we all had fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of our family favorites!
My kids (ages 6, 8, and 10) LOVE this game which we've had for about a year.We play a slightly different variety when the older kids are playing... you can hold one card in your hand instead of playing every card immediately. This puts a little bit of strategy into the game.

I brought this game along to a sleepover with my daughter's Girl Scout troop (a bunch of 10-year olds) and they couldn't get enough of this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Slithery fun for all..in every home should have at least one
I own it and I don't even have kids!(I do have two pet snakes, though.)

Another benefit of his besides those mentioned in the other reviews...Hisss is a good physical game too, because you have to stre-e-e-tch your body to place the cards in position when the snakes get long.

Here's a tip - buy two sets and play with 100 cards instead of 50.This makes even longer snakes possible and also gives you two of every head and tail card!Just make plenty of floor space available!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy and Daddy's favorite game
If it were up to me, I'd burn Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. This game is so much "funner".It's different each time you play.My husband and I even played it by ourselves one night. Our four year old daughter absolutely loves it.Additionally, the cards are very thick and sturdy and will travel well. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars this is the worst set ever released!
dear yugioh fans, do not buy these pax the monsters are almost exactly the same as those that were previously released.you are better off just getting older sets that are much cheaper.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lucky guy once in a while
IOC was the best/mediocre set ever... since the chaotic releaseof BLS-EOTB, and it's been my favorite card ever since it came out of the yugioh game. I hope it can help out some newbs and maybe some inexpierenced duelists.

5-0 out of 5 stars Invasion of Chaos
This pack introduces the infamous Chaos monsters.Overall, this is a great pack because:
-COMMON 1850 attack monster with 4 stars
-RARE 2000 attack monster with 4 stars
-Tonnes of more cool cards.

Most of the commons I have a problem with. There are so many, I can't count them.

Cards that you WILL want to get:
-Chaos Emperor Dragon-Envoy of the End
-Black Luster Soldier-Envoy of the Beginning
-Manticore of Darkness
-Strike Ninja (Maybe)
-Reload (Maybe)
-Mad Dog of Darkness
-Berserk Gorilla

Any cards with good effects.

Cards you WILL NOT want to get

-Orca Mega Fortress of Darkness
-Lots of cards.

"I spy with my little eye" is the chiming chorus of road tripswith kids, and also now of this game for preschoolers. It developsreading skills through colors, pictures--the high-impact compositionsof everyday stuff from the I Spy books by Jean Marzollo--andrhymes. Different games are possible with the same set of easy-to-readcards: listening, rhyming, and matching. Older kids can play with theiryounger, nonreading siblings without any rivalry. 4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for the little ones
I just wanted to correct the manufacture's age recommendation info. provided at the beginning of the item description. The box says it is for children aged 3-6.My 3 & 6 year old can both play it.In reference to the first reviewer who did not recommend the game - there are 5 different ways to play which makes the game more challenging for older kids.

2-0 out of 5 stars Small number of pieces allows for easy memorization....
My daughter (3 at the time) received this as a Christmas present and it took her all of 10 minutes to memorize where the pieces belong thus ending the usefulness of the game. The game itself only comes with 12 puzzle pairs (24 total pieces).I would avoid this game entirely.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Batteries required!
This game was given to our 3 year old as a gift and he loves it.His little sister, who is two, also loves this game. This game really helps to develop a childs ability to concentrate on visual cues.It is basically a matching game combined with a puzzle concept. There are no complex rules to learn, so within minutes of opening the box any child can begin to play and enjoy this game.As each match is made the child receives immediate reward and motivation to find a new match.Best of all is that this is a simple game with no buzzers or bells and is best played with the TV turned off. ... Editorial Review

This board game, which can be played at four different levelsof complexity, is a good way to introduce young kids to prehistoriclife on earth. It's played a bit like Candyland: You roll a die andmove your fossil playing piece over colored spaces. Progress around theboard coincides with the extraordinary evolution of dinosaurs thatroamed the planet as far back as 570 million years ago. As the animalsadapt and change, players can land on squares that advance their path("Develop lungs. Swim ahead three spaces.") or hold them back ("Bittenby Plesiosaurus. Paddle back two spaces."). When you land on acreature, collect the matching creature cutout and place it on itsskeleton on your side of the board. The winning player is the first tocollect all nine of his or her allotted cutouts. (In more advancedlevels of the game, players have to answer questions about the dinosaurbefore collecting the cutout.) --Tom Keogh ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great intro to science, history, and dinosaurs
We first saw this game at the NAGC (National Assoc for Gifted Children) conference this year and were intrigued. Our son is 4 and loves to play the game. We have all learned so much about the different eras and the history of the dinosaurs. Definitely recommended for children interested in science and/or dinosaurs. The different levels of questions allow the game to grow with the child.

4-0 out of 5 stars This game is cool!
By combining a puzzle with a game we found this to be really fun to play.My kids wanted to play it again and were thrilled to be able to answer more questions the more they played. My youngest childeven caught me frombehind and ended up beating me!The reading, web site and museum list inthe instructions was a great added bonus.I would recommend this for anyone who likes dinosaurs.

2-0 out of 5 stars Could be fun if it wasn't so long!
I bought this for my daughter (age 4) for Christmas, and she was thrilled to be getting her own game, and about dinosaurs, no less!Unfortunately her enthusiasm (and mine, my almost 6 year old son's, my husband's, and mymother-in-law's) quickly died out as we played. It is advertised assimilar to Candyland, which it is.But unlike Candyland, there are veryfew ways to change the order of the players--once someone gets out infront, they stay there.Even playing at Level 1, when you don't have toanswer the questions, it is just too long. And as for thequestions...well, there is one question card for each area on the board. On the card is a question for each color on the die.So if everyone rollsthe same color (which did happen when we played), then everyone gets thesame question. So basically, we are pretty disappointed with the game. The best part about it seems to be fitting the dinosaur puzzle pieces intoeach side of the board. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Much like playing 20 questions, this wonderful game sharpens thinking skills while providing lots of competitive fun. It begins when 25 picture pieces are laid out in a five-inch-by-five-inch square. One player hides a token while the others try to find it by asking questions about the picture it's under. If the player asks, "Can it fly?" and the other player says "No," all squares with flying things are removed. If a player asks, "Is it alive?" and the other player answers, "Yes," all squares depicting nonliving things are removed, and so. This process continues until players have narrowed down the square that hides the token. The game is deceptively simple, yet calls for carefully thought-out questioning to win quickly. It's fun for two to four players and requires no reading. --Lee Strucker ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game.
The best part of this game is that with a small change to the rules my 5 and 3 year old can play by themselves. In the rules
every player is given so many small red chips. Then these chips are given to the hider.Since we have a small baby crawling around, I didn't like the idea of all these chips so we just hide the one chip and still have tons of fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy Playing
Secret Square is one of several games we bought that we still play. Older kids can play according to the instructions, but it is easy to simplify the instructions for younger children: start with fewer squares so they can guess the secret square more quickly. It can be used to help kids learn to work together as a team to find the right answer, or it may be played competitively. The picture stickers do not come attached to the squares. You must attach them to the squares yourself. If you are giving this game as a gift, put all the stickers on the squares ahead of time so the kids can get right to playing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great deductive reasoning skills

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun variation of Uno...
If you love Harry Potter this is a must for any fan.It is great for Uno fans also.I have a lot more fun playing games with characters that I like. And this is one of those games. It is fun for everyone and all my friends and I have a blast still to this day playing with the Harry Potter ones. And we are all in our Twenties.Harry Potter Uno also has some twists and variations to the game that may take some time getting used to but you can always opt out and play the way many of us grew up playing.

1-0 out of 5 stars STUPID ToY
like there is no difference between normal uno and harry potter uno. they are both pretty boring too. it is very durable though i threw them in a lake and nothing happened to them. They float too. They have been in the lake for a year now and you can still see all the pictures. now that is quality.too bad the game was horrible.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME DEAL
This is an amazing deal. For a wooden chess board with wooden pieces, this is an excellent price. Although the wooden pieces arn't really heavy and don't have felt bottoms - this is an excellent deal for $9. This fits perfectly on my desk and looks great. People are constantly telling me how nice it looks and amazed I would pay so much for it. The board is solid and very heavy - very nice. Enjoy!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great set for the price!
My set arrived in wonderful condition, no cracks or other flaws and, although the peices aren't big on detail, they are a good size, light and do have a design to them.Plus they get the job done. The board isn't too small for me either.I wanted a smaller, lighter set for travel, playing at the beach etc...For $9.99 this is a real bargain!

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice game
This is a good quality chess set for its price, but there is something about the company Pavilion that really bothers me. A few chess sets I've seen by them has a picture showing the light-coloured square on the left hand side, but it's supposed to be set up on the right hand side. I'm not trying to bash Pavilion or anything, I just don't want begginers and children to be confused about how the chessboard should be set up, as it is a very important factor of the game. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Freakin Sweet!
This is the best I've ever played. Screw monopoly, play this with the family. I played with my grandmother and she loved it. She was more excited than Micheal Jackson at a daycare. Talk about fun. I recommend for everyone with a pulse.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome game!
I love this game because it is a very strategic game. It's fun because you get to learn about the culture you play in the game. So far, I've only played one game but I am going to play it many more times. Even if you think the instruction booklet is really long, keep reading. It's worth it.(If a family member knows how to play it's faster.)

4-0 out of 5 stars we liked it
We bought this yesterday and played it last night. My son is a bright eight year old, and he had no difficulty at all. The biggest plus is the coolness value of having medusa / scorpion man / frost giant figures.

The game is quite easy to play. Each player has three actions (e.g. gather resources, build buildings, attack) each turn, and kids can easily choose what to do from the cards in their hand. The combat system is a bit like rock-paper-scissors, so the weakest unit can defeat the strongest (just ask my dead pharaoh). I found combat to be a little slow and unrewarding, but I imagine that a more aggressive player could make use of it. Also, it would be faster if your opponent was more than 8 years old!

In terms of educational value, anything that gets a kid to know anything at all about other cultures gets good ratings in my book. For durability, the pieces are solid enough, but there are lots of them, and lots of cards, and I will be keeping the box where visiting kids can't get at it.

It seemed to me that the randomness was maybe a little too effective - my son needed hills terrain and couldn't find any, so he seemed to lack resources a little. Also, because resources were limited, towards the end of the game it seemed that whoever gathered first was cashed up for the turn, and the other player was a bit limited. However, I'd like to play a few more times before I decided on the real effect of these points. ... Read more

Think you can come up with a girl's name containing the letters "Q" and"Y" in 60 seconds? Or a food or drink using "H" and "J"? There will truly betimes when Wordplay for Kids will be anything but child's play. Designed forplayers 6 to 12 years, this combo of word building and racing to the finish lineinvites youngsters to come up with the longest word they can in order to gainthe most spaces on the board. The spinner selects the two letters that mustappear in the word, the die roll selects the category the word must fit. Theenclosed rules are simple and, with one exception, easy to understand (you maywant to adopt a house rule clarifying whether or not the word must begin withone of the two spun letters, or merely contain it). And it'll probably take onlyone fight between the player who composed "Patty" and the "Patricia-Elizabeth"wordsmith, before you'll want to outlaw the use of hyphens. Those preteens canbe soooo devious. --Tony Mason ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game for the Whole Family
So glad I bought this one. It's fun, educational and we have as much fun playing as the kids do.The great thing is that everybody plays every round which prevents waiting for your turn.In a nutshell, all players are given a Word Sheet. The spinner on the board is spun to pick 2 letters that must be in the word.As an example, let's say an "A" and "C" are the spun letters for the round. All the players write those letters on their own Word Sheet. Then the die is rolled to determine the category -say "living creatures".Then the 30 second timer is turned and everybody has 30 seconds to form the LONGEST word possible. When the 30 seconds are up, players compare words to see who formed the longest word. Each player advances on the board by the number of letters in the word they formed. So the player with the longest word advances the furthest. The trick we do to make it fun for us parents is that while the kids just need to find a word containing an "A" and "C" (e.g. cat, caterpillar), we parents have a harder job and must form a word with the "A" as the FIRST LETTER and the "C" as the LAST LETTER.In this instance, both us parents could not think of anything beginning with an "A" and "ending" in a "C" so we both did not form a word and we both did not advance on the board. But the kids advanced by 3 spaces each because they both formed the word "CAT".The kids were surprisingly enthralled with this game. They also love the spinner and always try to spin it the fastest and most.Anyway, this is a great family activity. The kids often play without us.We highly recommend it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun game; cheap cheap make
I played this game with my kids (under 8) and they seemed to like it: it is a spelling game and can be exciting for kids who have just mastered reading and writing. The participating adults can guide the game along, making it a cooperative game, rather than competitive.

The down side--and it is a big down side--is that the game is so cheaply made that it is nearly impossible to play the game: The spin-wheel, which is key to the game as it determines which letter of the alphabet gets randomly selected, does NOT spin at all. I can't imagine this particular part, if made slightly better (say, barely usable), could have cost that much more--this game isn't cheap to begin with.

Frankly, as much as my kids like this game, I feel that my money is not well spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smart and Fun.
This game is clever! It really is loads of fun for kids to play and at the same time (without their conscious knowledge) they are improving their word skills. The game has a spinner, which, off-the-bat makes kids interested. Next, all kids play each round which ensures that nobody has to wait their turn (waiting for their turn in a game to my kids seems like slow torture).Since, they are all playing in each round there is lots of competition to come up with the best and longest word to fit one of six categories (ie. boys or girls name, living creature, food or drink and I can not remember the others). All and All - a smart and fun kids game. ... Editorial Review

Gamewright's Dog Dice, a Bingo game with a variety of lovable canine personalities, is an addictive pleasure for both kids and adults. Rather than numbers, the playing boards are decorated with squares depicting four dogs eating, frolicking with their child-owner, groveling for food, and getting into mischief. The title refers to the two dice that act as command central of the game: one die features the four distinctive dogs (Gizmo the mutt, Stretch the dachshund, Gigi the poodle, and McDuff the Scottie); the second die displays elements of a dog's life (pictures of a bone, food dish, the kid, a doghouse, plus the word trouble). Players match the two dice to a square on their boards--Gizmo in his doghouse, for example--then mark that picture with a small cardboard bone. The first to get a row of marked squares yells "Hot Dog!" and wins. In an ingenious twist, one can also achieve "Hot Dog!" by marking, canine-style, the four corners of one's playing board. The only drawback to this enchanting game is that there are only four boards in the set, thus limiting the number of players. Winner of awards from Dr. Toy and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. Dog Dice is for two to four players. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Bingo
Santa left this in our 3 year old daughters stocking (probably because he knew how much we enjoy Landlock, another Gamewright game). She had no trouble grasping the simple rules and yips with glee after every roll. The game has helped her with patience and turn taking and she was very happy to see that dogs can get into trouble too, not just 3 year olds. We've lost a few of the bone place holders but there are lots of spares provided and our dice have held up fine (possibly because we tend to play on the rug instead of at a table).

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Family Game
Our daughter received this game for her 5th birthday. We've enjoyed many hours of playing it with her. It is fun and easy enough for her to play well and win (without cheating). Grownups get into it too! A worthwhile investment and a great edition to your games cupboard!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great hit in school-based use!
Overall, I have to say this is a great game that kids of all ages enjoy.I recommend Dog Dice to anyone - whether you are a parent looking for a fun game for your children or an educator looking to expand your classroom repertoire of games.Get this game, you won't regret it!

As a speech-langauge pathologist in an elementary school, I am constantly looking for fun, durable, and educational games to use in therapy.Dog Dice has met all my requirements - at least to some degree. This game is one of the more popular games with my students. It is played by at least 3 kids four or five times a day. The kids love this game and don't realize that they are learning to attend to details as well as improving visual discrim skills. My one complaint is this - the bones are somewhat fragile and I've had to staple the middle of several to prolong their lives. Is there any way I can get some more to supplement the original supply? The dice have held up well and still have all the colors intact - unlike other people's dice. ... The Wheels on the Bus Game will probably drive adults 'round and 'roundthe bend, with its all-talking, all-singing action, powered by three AAbatteries (not included). But designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, this combinationof memory game, play-acting, and sing-along fits nicely into Milton Bradley's"My First Games" portfolio. Players take turns rolling the musical yellow bus totheir space on the board. Pressing the hood tells them which of the four tokens(door, wiper, horn, or wheel) to locate by turning over any two of the 20 face- down tokens. Make a match, and keep the token; collect all four, and it's anexpress ride to the winner's circle. --Tony Mason ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Annoying toy!!
I had seen this toy on tv and my son (5 years) wanted it so we bought it for Christmas. It is so annoying! The music on the school bus is so loud and there is no on/off switch. When we put it up and something bumps it, it goes off with the music.I finally just took the batteries off.My son played with it a little and now he is tired of it.I would save your money and buy a better game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not getting the credit it deserves
We got this as a gift for my 3 year old and he absolutely loved it. Granted the song gets old but what toy that plays music doesn't? My kids never got tired of it. What is nice is you can play the easier level for young kids and as they get older you can use it as a more difficult matching game. The best part is the bus plays the entire "Wheels on the bus" song at the end and the kids can do all the motions that go with the song. I would recommend it and I think it is taking an unfair rap on these reviews.

1-0 out of 5 stars VERY ANNOYING
This game is very annoying. The bus never is silent. It plays over and over even if you are not playing the game. You can't cut it off. We finally through it outside in the sandbox and still sometimes it will play when we are out in the yard. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Honey Bee Tree
Our 6 yr old received this for Christmas. It takes a bit of time to set up, but worth the effort.I found that it's much easier if you follow the slant of the holes (which seems to guide you to another hole). Our 4 year old also enjoyed playing the game and surprised us with her ability to pull out the sticks ever so carefully! Each time the bees started to fall the kids would squeal and we would all start laughing.I feel the game encourages critical thinking and improves fine motor skills.Kids get to see what happens when a stick is chosen quickly vs a carefully selected stick.Bees could be a choking hazard if you have kids that frequently put things in their mouth.I would recommend that this game be purchased for 4 - 7 year olds as it may be to basic for an older child.

3-0 out of 5 stars not for the recomended age
Pretty much this game is just like the game 'ker-plunk'.You put in the little poles to hold the marbles up and pull them out one at a time without letting the marbels (bees in this case) fall through. They just dressed it up a bit to make it more appealing to younger kids. They would probably like the bees falling out, but not the settup and wouldnt understand to "game part" or strategy. My opinion, get it for an older child (7 or up), since they will be able to set it up and understand it on thier own.Or if they wont like the tree and honey design, go with Ker-Plunk.I think that is on here too!

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS TOY
Takes far too long to set up; bees are too small (smaller than a grape) and clearly a choking hazard. My 3 year old likes rolling the bees on our hardwood floors and we inevitably miss one or 2 when cleaning up, so someone ends up slipping on it.She doesn't have the patience to wait for it to be fully set up.The tree comes apart too easily. This was a gift that is now going to be given away. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Card Game When Family Or Friends Get Together
Created by the makers of Uno, Skip Bo has that great "lets play" feeling. It combines skill, strategy and, in some cases, a lot of luck. The players try to be the first to use up all the cards in their Stock Pile by playing them on Building Piles in numerical sequence, 1 through 12. On the end of your turn though, you must discard a card on one of YOUR OWN discard piles (max of four). Here is where you MUST use all your skills and strategy since you will be able to use only the card on the top of each pile in combination with your hand cards to deplete your Stock Pile. Cool, huh? Well it gets better! Skip Bo cards act as Wild Cards to add excitement to play. Use them correctly and you could be making all these combinations while your opponents sit there watching your Stock Pile get smaller and smaller wondering that your IQ is must be over 140. And nothing beats the look on their faces you turn over your last Stock Pile card to discover it was a Skip Bo card. It's like winning in Texas Hold-em on the river card. OUCH! You will have awesome fun playing this game. And even tough it's a game with numbers; you do not have to sit quietly while the players think. Au contraire, talking, laughing and making jokes is just part of the fun. What's not to love about this game?

DELUXE EDITION: This edition is very nice with a score pad, card tray and a game board that has reserved spaces designed for the four Building Piles and Discard Piles for up to four players. Since Skip Bo can be played with up to six players the Deluxe Edition Board falls a little short. I do believe this edition is still worth buying. It is perfect for up to four players and very useful in keeping a place for the Building piles if played by more. Great game, great edition, extremely educational and lots and lots of fun. Worthy of a Greatest Games Ever Made Award. Have Fun!
