to those who like the simspons like me the toyis great. the tv show is great how great can the toy be. the toy is different from others .It may break and the plastic may be sharp. i am willing to buy the toy but with a lower price

5-0 out of 5 stars hillareous
this is a great holiday gift for those simpson lovers.Although i do agree with the other reviewer who says that the questions will not respond to yes or no questions like it should.Such as "Thank you come again".What these phrases do is show you the characters favorite catch phrases are such as D'oh!I'm suprised and disapointed that they didn't have ay curumba! Editorial Review

Sometimes you can't help but wonder about the original meeting where the idea for a toy was first introduced. Because in order to get Operation Brain Surgery produced, someone must have sat down in a room somewhere and explained that they were proposing a game based on brain surgery. And that they were serious. As strange as that meeting must surely have been, the game is actually a lot of fun in a bizarre kind of way. In fact, its very strangeness probably makes it even more fun. The patient (same big-nosed guy from the original Operation game) gives encouragement and ribbing to players throughout the game. The object is to remove objects such as a bird (for "bird brain"), train (for "train of thought"), and egg (for "egg head"). As in Operation, it takes a steady hand to avoid upsetting the patient and win the game. --John Moe ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Eh?!
I bought this for my 5 year old for her birthday-she tried to play it with her 3 year old sister- and it is.....for a better word.... an "alright" game. The idea of trying to find the matching piece to your chosen card is a good idea-but somewhere along the line the thrill of the game gets lost-does not really keep them too interested in continuing with the game...find a better place to put your $21.00 bucks...maybe their piggie bank...or even a better idea-keep it in your wallet.
I would not really recommend this.
The original Operation game with the tweezers and buzzer that would sound off if you touched the sides, was the one that I played with as a kid(showing my age much?) I prefer the old to the new.

3-0 out of 5 stars kids seem to like it OK.
My 4 yr. old wanted this one. But when we turned it on to play it, & hit the nose timer, she freaked out, started crying, and ran to her room until we turned it off. My 3 yr. old son likes it. My daughter will only play this with the game turned off. No timer. Its an ok game, & teaches kids to concentrate & rely on something other than their sence of sight to determine what things are. I think we all would have preferred a different game. We play games daily, and I don't see this one being played very often.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is a horrible toy
This toy is the dumbest thing ever. You reach in a head and grab stuff. I think it should be recalled because a kid could go crazy trying to grab stuff in real peoples heads. dont buy it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple Yet Exciting
I got this for my 7 year old nephew's birthday, and he loves it. I only vaguely remember the old classic version, so I cannot make a comparison. But standing on its own, the game is simple to play, yet involves stragey, and has plenty of excitement. My nephew is also improving his counting skills. And the game is only $10! Great for kids, good for adults if they don't compare it to the orginal version.

5-0 out of 5 stars we enjoyed this game but we never played original version
I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before I bought this board game as a present for my son.I would have worried about it being "cheesy" and "not worth the money."

We have never played any other version of this game so I guess we don't know what we are missing from the original.

I thought the game was simple to learn but still had plenty of excitement as it was hard to tell who would win up until the last moment. The bright colored animals and game board make this game visually appealing and I especially appreciated the educational information enclosed about the animals used for pawns in the game.

If you are looking for a game that is fun to play with your kids this is an excellent choice. If you are looking for the original classic for adult play it seems like you would not be happy with this version of the game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nothing "Classic" about this...
Calling this "Classic Parcheesi" is like naming a brand of Lemonade full of chemicals "Country Time". Parcheesi is a great game, but don't waste your money on this gimmicky hack-job. Get the true classic ...called "Deluxe Parcheesi". ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Our 4 year old cannot get enough, and we are all learning
Out family has played Time Troopers and/or Show Me The Wild at least 5 times a week since Thanksgiving. As family came and went over the holidays everyone played, everyone learned, and everyone had fun spending time with each other. Our 4 year old begs to play every night before going to bed and learns even from her parents questions.

The video content is even captivating for our 10 month old, so he will have a head start once he starts talking and playing

5-0 out of 5 stars Have a blast in the past, with everyone in your family!!!
This game was extremely fun and engaging!!!!

Everyone, from young to old, enjoyed it!!!

The most important and unique attribute of the game is the ability for everyone, regardless of age/knowledge, to play and have an equal chance of winning!

Pros:

-You can set the time limit of the game, so you can have the game work around you schedule.
-The video clips in the game and appearances by John Clease are classic.
-You can teach history to your children without them even realizing it.
-All ages can play, win, and have a blast.
-The DVD format works great! No clean up, no score calculations, no pieces to lose, and it doesn't take up storage space.

Cons:

-There aren't more games like it.

Overall, I am extremely excited about this DVD game, it has it all! I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to have good clean fun with their family and heck; even learn something while you're at it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Family fun as advertised!
This game has me playing with my wife and 12 and 13 year old boys and we all love it!The game is entirely contained on anormal DVD that you play on your tv- no board pieces, etc to keep track of- the game does it all for you. You can select your level of expertise so everyone can play against each other, and then the "dynamic leveling" keeps it fun for everyone since questions for players get harder/easier with more right/wrong answers. This tends to keep the games close and fun.John Cleese is hilarious in some of the "fate card" scenes. The boys had so much fun they didn't realize they were learning history!Highly recommended!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nok Hockey Champion of the Universe!
I played this game as a child and loved it.When I ran into it again 2 years ago, it was too close to Christmas to give as a gift as everywhere was SOLD OUT!!.Well I found it last year in time for Christmas and sent it to my 2 grandsons (7 & 9, then). In July '04, I visited them and Grandma was crowned Nok Hockey Champion of the Universe! (I still got IT!) They are challenged to a rematch this Christmas... hope they've practiced enough to beat me now!!! LOL - Still a Great Game after all these years.

Editorial Review

Where oh where has everybody gone? In Guess Where? players will find out who is hogging the bathroom, who's lurking in the kitchen, and who is lollygagging in the bedroom. Each player gets a two-sided fold-up plastic house and two sets of the same family members, one with pegs and one with tabs. After each player hides all the pegged family members throughout their own house, they begin asking yes/no questions about the whereabouts of the other player's family. As the answers to the clues build, players place tabbed family members in the lower half of their houses, in the locations they believe them to be hiding in the other house. Questions can be general (Is there a guy upstairs?) or specific (Is Grandma in the kids' room?). First person to guess where everyone in the other house is, wins! This is a terrific game for developing deduction skills, and kids will probably end up elaborating on their answers (Yes, Mom is in the bathroom, giving Kitty a bubble bath.) --Emilie Coulter ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Guess HOW to play...? Not quite clear, but fun nevertheless!
I grabbed this a few weeks ago even though my kids are 9 & 10, because my son in particular loves the logic of GUESS WHO, and I figured this would be quite similar, but maybe a little more like Clue (in fact, someone else I described the game to said, "oh, like Clue).

Actually, it's not much like Clue. It's much simpler, for one thing, which is to be expected, because it's aimed at much younger kids. What you're doing, basically, is figuring out which family members are in which rooms of your opponent's house.

The only trouble is that the manufacturer hasn't really provided a lot of hints - let alone rules - about how to keep track of what the answers were to questions you've asked.Unlike Clue (again, because there's no writing, because younger kids), there is no score pad to keep track, and unlike Mastermind, no formal way on the board itself to keep tabs on the success or failure of your "guesses."

So I find that even at 9 & 10, the kids keep forgetting what they have asked ("did I already find out if the pets were upstairs?", "I already told you the father and grandfather were together!").

The instructions say you're supposed to work out your own "system" using a thin groove that runs around the rooms... so if you suspect that "the mother is in the hall," you can place the mommy piece somewhere just beside the hall. But what about complex things, like "are either of the kids upstairs?"There really is no way except, well, to remember, which isn't entirely a bad thing, given kids' reliance on computers to do all of that for them these days.

VERY importantly, this game is not really much like GUESS WHO because there is little of the fun of eliminating the wrong choices ("is your friend wearing glasses?").Instead, you're homing in on the right answers, which is a trickier and perhaps more dull proposition.

All in all, my kids seem to be enjoying it so far, but it may wear thin soon. And younger children might find it frustrating because of the lack of formal way to track guesses, which is why it has lost a couple of stars for educational value.

I am also taking off stars because of the bazillions of little "family member" pieces that can very easily get lost and that tip over in their grooves so you can't see them clearly.

Oh, yeah... and I almost forgot, one "house" board broke after a couple of weeks.Like Battleship, these are designed to snap open and stay open the duration of the game.As it is, one snap "snapped" and that house now has an unfortunate tendency to close on the fingers of whoever is using it.(it's the "haunted house").[...] But definitely, a few stars off for durability -- it's not supposed to do that, and our Battleship set still snaps after almost a decade.

[...] But we don't hate this game.I like it quite a bit, and so do the kids. But it probably isn't your top pick for a game they will learn quickly and enjoy for a long time to come.

Playability on Shabbat: YES!!! (no batteries, electronics or writing)

5-0 out of 5 stars GUESS WHO - Fun for all ages!
I bought this game for my kids when it first came out over 10 years ago. They are now 25 & 19 & still enjoy playing it. It is a good memory game that also teaches deduction. Just need to make sure it's boxed safely. After so many years, we started to loose people. Fun for all ages. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Kettou Da!
It was only a couple of weeks ago when I took the first step into the world of Duel Masters. I haven't regretted it since.

While the starter deck is impressive, the real power is locked within the booster packs. Right now I'm working on a darkness deck and the boosters are coming in handy.

This is a true story. Today I was shopping with my sister (because I'm the one who drives) and I picked up a couple of boosters for my collection. When I got back home I pulled a very powerful darkness card from one of the packs; Deathliger, Lion of Chaos.

Is a loser like myself can pull a spectacular card at random, then you can too. Buy the booster packs and you won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars better than yu-gi-oh
This is way better than yu-gi-oh in many ways hey don't get me
wrong i know what all you fans are thinking yeah right your crazy trust me i know what i'm saying i use to be a yu-gi-oh fanatic as well until i played duel masters they call it duelmasters because its the master of all dueling tcg's it has wonderful gameplay and is much more fun here is top 3 reasons its better than yugioh
1. its less expensive than yugioh less money for more fun you do the math fun + less $$$ = happiness for you and your kids of parents or and just you depending whose reading and buying
2.has tornaments everybody can compete in not just the best soyou will never be rejected for your skill
3.alot less cards to collect so you can usally just collect for a few months and then have them al and wholla there you have it another edition of the game
hey your already on the page so buy it off of amazon right now you will see what i mean you may want to read the rules so maybe if your a first you should buy the starter deck.

5-0 out of 5 stars Future CCG investments that should be on your list!
I've been through many card games, most likely all of them were "cool to have" when they first came out. Still hard hitting, precise strategic card game is Magic: The Gathering. I've seemed to have started to play this occasionally, and somewhat never.Recently not investing in new cards due to new rules, to make it confusing.

That leads me to why I want to review this product. Familiar with Mana, and Energys, Duel Masters is a game based upon similar rules from Pokemon and MTG. Although equal in many ways Duel Masters is so much different. Many of the MTG rules were omitted, and new styles of gameplay were added. Which created the much more player-friendly gameplay style.

If you play MTG, you know there is Mana. Well there is for Duel Masters too. Every card in your deck is Mana, if flipped upside down, and placed in your Mana pool.

Booster packs, are a great addition to any CCG. Only getting starter decks will not provide exposure to DM's excellent variety of monsters. I highly recommend DM. Educationally, it it would ultimately teach basic math, and a decent amount of patience.

Overall this is a great product. As I see it, its a CCG aimed for the smaller of the crowd. The style of drawing is more unique and has a Japanese flare to it. You ask if its worth it, or if it is better than,Yu Gi Oh,when still is a good game, lacks variety, simple artwork, and no story-line behind the cards. (i.e. Flavor text and novels from MTG) This product is surely to be sucessful, it has already taken lead CCG in Japan, outranking Yu Gi Oh. A must buy situation! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Grrr! Getting aggravated yet? Aggravation is the classic marble race around a star shape, from base to home sweet home. It's always tempting to take a shortcut, but beware! An opponent might be waiting for just such an opportunity to aggravate. By landing on another player's marble, anyone can send that marble back to its base to start over. And this could be a serious setback, since the object is to get all four marbles back home before the others do. Each player rolls the die and moves a marble around the board, choosing along the way whether to aggravate another player, take a shortcut (or super shortcut!), or just try to quietly slide by (good luck with that approach!). The game includes 24 marbles, 18.5-by-18.5-inch game board, die, and instructions. For two to six players. --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

You can get the old vintage aggravation games on Ebay for 10 or less and theres also some hand-made wooden boards as well. These new versions dont hold a candle to the old ones, Just as old tvs seem better than some of the new ones.

5-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the new game look
I have given my points based on the old aggravation game. I wish that I could find the old game which was better made and looked better. If there is such a place that sells this game please notify me ASAP. I will not waste my money on the new and so-called-updated game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, it's cheaply made... but it's our favorite game!
We got this game for my daughter's 8th birthday, and it has quickly become our favorite game.In some ways, it's like Sorry, although the board is a bit more tortuous to get around. Also, it allows you to play with 6 players (although we've never played with more than 4).

What I like the best is that this game is completely unpredictable.Yes, you could have the best strategy in the world, and be on the verge of winning, but then the roll of the dice can allow somebody who is much further behind come back and unexpectedly win!

The other great things it the portability of this game.We are about to go on vacation, and all you really need is the board, marbles and dice. It's definitely coming with us.We LOVE this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
I've been playing this game since I was a child and it's so much fun.We use 3 cups and put a quarter in each cup per game. The first person to get all four corners wins that cup, the first person to get the center card wins that cup, and when someone wins Pokeno which is 5 cards in a row (Bingo) the game is over and the person collects that cup.The boards are always cleared after Pokeno and if no one wins the corner or center the money stays in the cup and keeps adding up!! The more people who play the more money you win. You can play this game many, many different ways. Great game and lots of fun for the whole family!!

5-0 out of 5 stars ""A Fun Family Game"
My sons OT brought this over one day. He has mild cerebral palsy and it encourages you to use one or two hands to play.
Great sensory toy too !!He loves this games so much and my older son who is 11 loves it too.My little one seems to always beat him. He is 4. I like that it comes with blank cards to add your own stuff in for more fun. It opens up to a nice size, and his hair, and eyebrows are cute.I would highly recommend this toy to anyone who wants to have lots of fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ned's head fun for the young ones
Ned's head is a game with a large soft head.An assortment of gross stuff is put inside ned's head and the 2 to 4 players are dealt one card each with pictures of the items in the head. They all then reach into neds head through the closest hole to them (2 sides of the mouth and 2 ear holes) The first player to successfully find their item is the winner of the game.

I purchased this game to play with my 6, 7, and 9 year old.The young ones seem to enjoy it but the 9 year old declared it boring after the first 5 minutes. When I ordered this I envisioned a head that was stuffed with fluff and all the items stuffed back into little cubbie holes in the head so you had to find them, kind of like a hand puppet fit.Instead the head is a large hollow cave that does not pop out all nice and fluffy like the picture on the box. Rather, it kind of sags and sinks in.It has some sort of wire type device to hold the head out, I think it might be some sort of boning.(like the underwire on a bra). However, the support structure is encased in fabric and not a hazzard in normal use.

The items that come with the head are a large tooth, neds flippy frog, a silly ball, ned's lab rat, neds lost lunch (rubber vomit), a rubber alien, a loose screw, a giant ant, a spider ring, a little rubber pig, fried egg, a worm, moldy cheese, a dirty ear wax q-tip, a tongue, and several blank cards to add your own disgusting things.

This game is appropriate for ages 4 and up and I would recommend these guidelines be kept because some of the items are small (like the ball) and could definately present a choking hazzard.

I could see this being popular with the kindergarten preschool, and maybe 1st grade crowd, but above that probably not.

The good thing about this game is the rules are easy to follow and can be taught within just a few seconds. Also, this game helps with tactile exploration and differentiation in a nice clean and fun way (not like sand and water tables). Sensory integration dysfunction is such a prevalant diagnosis these days in young children, encouraging the development of the tactile sense in this way could be a very positive developmental tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very cute for younger children
We received this as a gift, and my younger son seems to love it.However, I would recommend it for four or five year olds - my six year old beats his brother every single time, which is no fun for the younger one. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Practice makes perfect in the world of math, but practice ismore fun when it's a game instead of homework. The rules of this boardgame resemble those in Scrabble, but Smath is played by creating mathequations instead of words. The game includes a playing board and lotsof tiny tiles with numbers, signs for math operations, and brackets tocreate more complex equations, which players can place on the boardhorizontally or vertically. The game can be played at different levelsof difficulty, from simple addition problems to equations combiningoperations (for example, (2)(2 + 3) = 5 x 2). The game is for two tofour players at different levels of math proficiency, making this aneducational (but still entertaining) game for the entire family, theclassroom, or for home schoolers. --Marcie Bovetz ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Smath is an intense game- if you make it that way
I remember playing this as a teenager. For a while, I mercilessly beat my younger siblings and yearned for a challenge. I thought it was one of the most simplest games made. One boring Saturday, my dad pulled out the game and we commenced playing. Dad and I battled, barely keeping ahead of the other. After 3 hours of brackets and numbers, we tried to goad each other into giving up and tried to trip the other up. I eventually won. It came with a cost however: Both of us had excruciating headaches. Funny thing is school math became easier. My Father still groans when he hears the word "Smath". From a Female Chemistry Graduate (requires a lot of math).

1-0 out of 5 stars Smath Destroyed My New Years and Two Lifetime Friendships
It was a dark and stormy night. In a few days I would be returning to university from my winter break. With my family gone, I had the house to myself for New Years.Bored, I invited two friends I had had since I was 5 years old over to enjoy a nice stew I had prepared and hang out.Quickly bored with the stew, we raided my parents game closet for some diversion. We came up with 'Smath. At first it seemed an amusing way to pass the evening. So simple it seemed, Scrabble with numbers. But then the game began. It took 15 minutes of exchanging tiles before we were able to lay down the first equation.Tempers were already starting to rise. One of my friends berated me for thinking non-linearly to create a 413 point equation. Finally I relented, and put down a measly 12 point equation. It was then that we ran into an abyss that would shatter nearly 2 decades of friendship.A poorly worded rule involving the Bonus Squares led to conflict. We could not reach an accord.I suggested calling a friend to arbitrate our dispute, but was violently assualted with a berage of opposition that she was biased in my favor. With that we turned to the parent company, Pressman Toys Inc., hoping that therein might lie the answers we so desperately sought. But it was not to be.[...]Enraged, my two friends stormed to drive aimlessly around waiting for the New Year's drunks to enter their vehicles and drive them off the road.It is likely I will never see them again.'Smath has irrevocably altered my life for the worse. If you love your child in the least, you will not buy this game (if you can call it that) for them.Furthermore, as a patriotic American, I beseech you not to in any way support the tyranny of Pressman Toys Inc.And I sincerely hope that your New Year is better than the broken shell of a life that Pressman Toys Inc. and 'Smath in paticular has left me to.

5-0 out of 5 stars great game for those who enjoy math
I purchased this game for my family and we enjoy it very much.We play with our 7 year-old son and he loves the game, sure he seldom makes it to the end of a game, but in the age of video game junkies getting him to sit down and play with math for 20 minutes is a miracle. I love how you can adjust the level of play by leaving out the multiplication, division and parenthesis for your younger players. The only complaint I have is that the rules state that you cannot combine tiles to make 2 digit numbers, making the largest number possible 12. We just instituted "House Rules" and that took care of that problem. This game is more durable than a very similar game that is twice as expensive. I love this game, and for someone who enjoys formulating equations rather than forming words, this beats Scrabble hands down. ... Read more

Building roads, railroads, and waterways is the object of thiscooperative picture-matching game. The 2-inch square tiles haveillustrations of the above printed on one side with some railroadstations and harbors, too. Each player draws 10 tiles and sets aboutmatching river to river, road to road and rail to rail. The first touse up all their tiles wins. But this nonreading game is really aboutcooperation. The different paths and combinations create so manydifferent possibilities that no two paths are alike. --LynneSampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Most requested game in our household
Even the littlest one (3 years old) loves R, R, & R.He doesn't understand the "game" part, but he loves looking at the pieces, and he has figured out how the matching works.
Treating it more like a puzzle than a turn-based game makes it fun for everybody -- you spend as little or as long on it as you want, and then you come back to it later.
Our household challenge is to use all the pieces in as compact a shape as possible. My husband is obsessed with putting together a perfect rectangle.Hasn't happened yet, but he keeps trying!

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational and fun game
This game promotes many educational skills, available to use even with very young children, including matching, visual discrimination, vocabulary building, sequencing and in addition it is a fun game to play turning outdifferent picture representation every time!

4-0 out of 5 stars For puzzle lovers
Ravensburger products are easy to love because of their high quality. These game tiles (like Ravensburger's puzzle pieces) are thick, colorful with great detail, and wipe clean when you spill on them. I enjoy puzzlesand so this is a fun game for me, creating a maze of rivers, roads, andrailways that begin and end at houses, bridges, towns and dams. The gamecan last an overly long time, so my kids don't enjoy it as much. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Toy...
I didn't actually like Pokemon cards when they came out, but ever since I got this for my birthday, I have enjoyed playing with the cards for a while since. If you are looking forstrategy, just use some cards from the sideboard (such as Swellow or Delcatty) and mix them all up!Durability is 1, because you can just rip it up, but overall, this is an excellent starter for Pokemon fans! ... The object: try not to lose your marbles. A long-time favorite,Ker-Plunk takes a steady hand, as you skillfully remove the sticks from themarble-filled tube. A clear plastic tube is filled with marbles, which aresupported by crisscrossing sticks inserted through the tube. Eachplayer takes a turn removing a stick from the tube, trying to dislodge as fewmarbles as possible. As the game progresses and fewer sticks remain, it getsharder to keep the marbles from going ker-plunk! Play continues until all themarbles have fallen. The player with the fewest marbles in his compartmentwins! For two to four players. --Alison Golder ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Fun Family Game
We purchased this game for our children for Christmas, and it has quickly become one of their favorites. Two to four people can play, so the children can play by themselves, or we can play with them. The set up is fairly quick, but my main disappointment with the game is the sticks which are placed through the holes in the tube.It takes a long time to put all of the sticks in, and they are somewhat flimsy and can be bent or broken fairly easily. They also tend to fall out of the holes without being removed by one of the players.

Overall, this is a fun game. Our children enjoy counting each other's marbles to see who has won or lost.Beware of the marbles and sharp sticks if you have smaller children, as the marbles are a severe choking hazard, and the sticks could poke a child. If you can make it through the long set-up stage, the actual playing of the game is very fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is supposed to be a smaller version of the original!
This is supposed to be a smaller version of the original game - for those who want the original try "Super Kerplunk Game"not much difference - just more durable. This particular game takes a little time to set up - count that as part of the game - delegate - first person puts in the first 10 sticks etc. etc.I LOVE THIS GAME.

4-0 out of 5 stars ker plunk game
This game is pretty fun but it takes forever to put it together before you can play it. My 5 year old wants to play the game immediately. Not wait 10 minutes for mommy to get it ready. They now have an electronic Ker plunk game. We will be purchasing that one soon. ... Read more
