4-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME
THIS GAME IS SO FUN...MY FAMILY (PARENTS IN THEIR 50S, KIDS IN THEIR LATE 20S) LOVES IT! WE PLAYED IT DURING THE HOLIDAYS AND HAD FUN REMEMBERING TV RERUNS, GREAT SONGS AND MOVIES...I RECOMMEND IT

5-0 out of 5 stars disco fever all over again!
you've got to get this game -- having spent the majority of my twenties living in the decade that brought us disco, this game really brought us back in time.the questions were really challenging, interesting and the best thing about is that there are so many questions that i'm sure we'll enjoy this game for quite a while.i would recommend this game to anyone who grew up in the 70's or anyone who is just plain nostalgic of this magicial decade.now that i found it, i think it might be showing up under a few trees of my friends and family this season!enjoy! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars It is really fun when you play it with your friends
I am 6 1/2 years old.I like Pig Pile because I can play it with my whole family.Pig Pile can be a little hard when you are learning how to play, but it is still fun.I only had to play it twice to get the idea of how to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Universal Favorite - both kids and adults
Whenever we get together to play games with our friends, they almost always ask about Pig Pile. It's a simple game to learn - my little nephews picked it up right away - but there is something deeply fun and satisfying about the dynamic. Plus you get to win cute plastic pigs. Everyone we know loves this game. Another universal favorite is Guillotine, a card-based game that is much more lighthearted than the name might suggest.

5-0 out of 5 stars A family favorite!
Trust me, this is the BEST, Most FUN game. We bought it to play with our then-7 yr old.We soon were playing it with our family and friends. It is a favorite when we get together. You cannot go wrong buying this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Fun.
We played Mystify at our recent game night with friends and family. Here is the scoop.Mystify is a game based around word and number scrambles. The object of the game is to be the first to solve the word or number scramble. There are 5 different card categories and for each category hints are given as to what the scramble might be. For instance, hints might be - Literary Figure; Popular First Name; Brand Name Product; Popular 70's Movie; Living Creature; Part of a human body, etc.The card reader reads out the letters or numbers (which are scrambled) and players race against each other to solve the scramble.Whoever blurts out the answer first wins the round and is able to advance on the board. The great thing about this game is that everyone plays every round. This keeps all players interested and with a vested interest in paying attention at all times.Since everyone plays at the same time this is a fantastic party game. You really can't go wrong if you want an all inclusive game to play at your game nights!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this one.
We love word games, but all word games are based around forming words --this game changes all that. The premise of the game is based around solving word scrambles and number scrambles. There is a clue provided with each category so that the players know what direction to look in.I highly recommend this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars I lover racing for the answer!
This is a party game if I ever did see one.Everyone plays every round so nobody is bored waiting for their turn. The board is a simple race track and sometimes we leave the baord at home and play this in the car.All players race to solve the scramble and the categories provide not only different subject areas but varying levels of difficulty. The 'numbers' category is an interesting twist.Good, old fashion fun and a refreshing change to some of the mindless game out there --I recommend it.I love word games and this is one of the best. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Educational but boring
I agree with the previous review that the excitement of this game wears off really quick. After 10 minutes of this game you begin to not care if the answers are fact or crap. And there are a lot of big words on the cards that are difficult for children to read (my 11 year old brother couldn't figure a lot of them out). There are a lot better family games out there than this one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Didn't live up to expectation
The description of the game made me want to have it. After playing it, the novelity wore off quickly. Not much skill to slap down a card and guess. If you play with a number of people the chips run out fast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game!
My family of seven kids, four daughters/sons-in-law have owned this game for 2 years. We love playing it and it is one of the few games that everyone enjoys. It is one of our favorite games and that is saying a lot since we own dozens of games. Our youngest was 12 when we bought the game and she often wins! ... Editorial Review

The game is called Wit's End, which is just where you mightfind yourself when playing this lively contest of lateral, literal, andlevel-lifting thinking. Players try to reach the summit of the board byanswering questions in four categories such as Odd 1 Out, Teaser,Sequence, or the ever-troubling Wild Card--a nerve-jangling catchallfor trivia, slang, quotations, and time-limited queries. Wit's End istougher than most trivia-based games, and it's deceptive, too. Playersneedn't answer all categories to win, so how tough can it be to move upthe board? Well, for every "Arrange Jaws, The Sting, andStar Wars by release date" there's a "Borneo is to 3, asHispanola is to: 1, 2, 3, or 4?" (And it's got nothing to do withnumber of syllables--we peeked.) If you can name four Europeancountries starting with S (while an opponent counts to 30), canyou do as well with "millimeter is to centimeter, as chain is to: link, decimeter, furlong, or ounce"? There's also an optional "Sorry!"feature that allows you to bounce an opponent down a level for correctanswers to certain questions. Smart and sophisticated, with asoupçon of luck, Wit's End is a game to challenge both greatwits and those only halfway there. --Tony Mason ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It really isa solid 10Game!
We had a blast playing this game.It was fun....challenging....informative....interesting....and down right entertaining. The great thing about this game is that unlike other Trivia games where if you do not know the answer, you just say "I don't Know", with Wit's End you are given choices to either put in order, eliminate or compare. That way you never say "I don't know" and instead use processes of elimination to come up with the right answer.A great social element about this game is that you are able to promote or demote other players based on right answers to some questions. This evened-out the playing field because everybody kept demoting the know-it-all and promoting the player which was falling behind. The questions cover all areas - pop culture, history, geography, science, sports, etc.The game is a solid 10.

5-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT GAME FOR A SOCIAL GATHERING!
I usually get bored playing games, but playing WIT'S END was anything but boring. If you are interested in Trivia, History, Geography, Sports, Popular Culture.....this game is for you.The questions are uniquely formed around four different types -TEASERS, ODD1OUT, SEQUENCE and WILD CARD.The TEASERS are comparisons and you need to find the correct relationship. The ODD1OUTs are exactly what it says, you need to find the out one out.The SEQUENCE is arranging things in order. The WILD CARD is just that - an anything goes category which keeps you on your toes.We had a great evening playing this game. There is a fun special mechanism in the game where you can promote and demote players for correct answers to certain questions. You really can't go wrong with this game -it is a keeper!

2-0 out of 5 stars Nah, boring, difficult and not fun
I was most disappointed by the ridiculousness of some of the questions and the poor explanations. This is definitely not a trivia game, seems more emphasis is placed on word association, patterns, and other brain teaser-type problems.Really too difficult for children under 14.Not great for older adults either.Try something else, especially if your looking for trivia. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You wont be disapointed!!!
As a child I use to play 20 questions with my grandparents all of the time.I bought this game for me and my family and wow I was so happy! The questions are great and its better than actually playing without the board game. Its hours of fun and is made so nicely.Would be a great gift or to keep yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly addictive.
I first played this game at a friends house over New Year's.It was such a delight to play!

The first player draws a card. Each card represents a person, place, thing, or year.At the top of the card is the answer and what category it falls in.The rest of the card contains twenty clues. The next player selects a number between 1 and 20 and marks the board so that no other players will ask for the same clue. The player with the card will read the clue aloud. The player asking for the clue gets one guess. If he/she is wrong, the next player asks for a clue and marks off the board that number.

Play continues around the board until either someone guesses correctly the identity of the card, or all twenty questions are exhausted.Once the card is revealed the correct guesser gets to move ahead as many spaces as the unasked clues. In other words, the few clues you need, the farther you'll move on the board. The person with the card is awarded a number of spaces corresponding to the number of asked questions. So, the more clues revealed, the farther they will move on the board.

Here is an example of a clue card (I'm a thing)... 1. I was invented in 1868. 2. I'm usually found on the rocks. 3. My colors are red and white. 4. I am sometimes associated with narcotics. 5. I'm a classic. 6. What I am made of is a closely guarded secret.

The answer is...

Coca Cola.

This is a marvelously fun and educational game to play.I highly recommend this game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So much fun!
This was a great game to purchase. My husband and I can either play with just the two of us, or with a larger group of friends.

We found it more of a challenge for the two of us to never stop the timer in the round. That makes for hilarious actions as you're racing to discover what you can do to get the other person to guess the cards.

With a larger group it's difficult, but we managed to play it with 6 people. We're anxious for a booster pack as well.

I would definately recommend this game.Especially if you have wild and wacky friends. If your friends are more on the quiet side this game will get them going.

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely fun, yet a bit frustrating.
First, I will say that this game is EXTREMELY fun. Like all of Cranium's games, it has a ton of variety (there are hundreds of different cards) and has you doing all kinds of things. Also, rather than have a "winner", the goal is to work together to beat the clock, so there's not so much competition.

The object of the game, to summarize, is to use the four different activities (acting, drawing, and two different types of word clues) to get the other players to guess which card you're thinking of. This provides a great level of unexpected and crazy fun. I never thought I'd be making up a tongue-twister to describe a tour guide, or that my dad had such a passion for acting. Plus, correctly guessing a card or coming up with a great clue gives you a great sense of accomplishment.

I have only one problem with this game: it can get pretty frustrating. Sometimes you find yourself in a bind when the activity you roll can't really be used for any of your cards. For example, how the heck am I supposed to act out "wine cellar"? Also, this game is definitely not for youngsters, as some of the cards (like Jimi Hendrix, for example) wouldn't even be recognizable to them.

Other than that, though, this game is great. It's perfect for any number of people. I never liked "clue-giving" games like Pictionary and Charades, but Hoopla has changed my mind. And with the seemingly never-ending supply of cards, my friends and I are still going strong!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun & Entertaining

3-0 out of 5 stars broke in 2 weeks
The kids had a blast with this toy.I had a lot of kids over at Thanksgiving and it broke! We had only been using it for 2 weeks?!?!!?

4-0 out of 5 stars Looks could improve, but overall design is better
Buyer beware!I bought this in July 2004 and what came was the newer Hasbro version of this (the yellow weird-looking thing) and NOT the transparent looking MB original as in the picture.I was disappointed at first, but after I started playing this newer version for a while, I began to understand why they designed it this way. It's a little bigger than I'd expected or wanted, but it's this size in order for your hands to fit comfortably and not cramp. Also, the center button to start the game in the original is gone is replaced by a small dot-like start button, which was probably placed there in case your fingers missed the play buttons (which would cause you to screw up the game you were playing). The extra 1 inch border may increase the size in a less-than appealing way, but it makes for really easy play and less cramping.I still think they should've kept the old translucent casing, but yellow will do.I love how there are 3 types of games and 4 levels. The original 1-game, 2-3 level ones offer little variety and it's easy to master the first couple levels. This one's still a challenge to me.I've only had this for about a week now, so I don't know about durability yet.It seems well-made. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Fun for all ages
I bought two Shut the Box games at Christmas time, one for my family and one for my brother's. The game is housed in a beautiful box that looks like wood and smells faintly of ceder. The tiles and dice look antique -- it has the feel of an old game. My kids love it because we can play a "board game" by simply opening the case and beginning. Simple for all to play, even my kindergartener, but challenging as well. There is strategy here and each person develops their own after playing a few times. Imagine my disappointment to find it now for $30 less than I paid at Christmas! At this price, you should get one too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very fun game...
This is a really fun game that will keep your mind running. These cards are much better then using a regular deck of cards to play the game.Point values are on every card & you have the wild & stop cards marked.I enjoy playing this game because there's always conditions to be determined when trying to decide your next move. This game really keeps you thinking. The only problem I've come across is that after a while the cards start sticking a little & they become more difficult to shuffle.Over all though I'd say highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars The simple fun of cards
We picked up Canasta Caliente before our recent trip to Mexico and have been hooked ever since. Canasta is a classic South American card game which took America by storm in the 1950's and this card set pays hommage to that time period with fantastic and colorful graphics. The goal is to create as many "melds" as possible (i.e. matching sets of three or more) leading up to the required amount of Canastas (seven cards each) before your opponents. If you lose the hand, you subtract the values of your unused cards from your score. This penalty doubles if you end up with the Caliente card. First person to reach 5000 points wins. Two to six playes.

The card point values are clearly marked, making it very easy to calculate your score. The cards themselves are nice and strong, with a glossy finish. We've been running them through a vintage metal Johnson card shuffler, and they have yet to bend or warp. The instructions are simple and well stated, plus there are several quick-tip cards with score values so you can save time.

Cards are fun and simple, and Canasta is a high energy card game that is perfect for small groups, travel, or simply passing time on a rainy day. For those of you looking for a swank card game for your next cocktail, lounge, or tiki party, grab this retro-inspired deck and have fun.

If you do plan on using the deck on a plane or train, buy the deluxe edition which includes a handy card tray (otherwise those cards will fly everywhere) and make sure you have plenty of room to spread out those melds.

Overall, a fun and simple game that will have you hooked in no time.

Just how good are you at fooling your friends and family? Test your powers of deception with Malarky, the game in which players try to bluff answers to such questions as "What is the 'cottage' in cottage cheese?" and opponents try to determine the real answers from the ones that are simply malarky. It's based on David Feldman's Imponderables series, which includes the books Imponderables: The Solution to the Mysteries of Everyday Life, Do Penguins Have Knees? An Imponderables Book, and How Do Astronauts Scratch an Itch: An Imponderables Book. The game asks the questions that everyone wonders about from time to time. After a question is read aloud, one player (unbeknownst to the others) reads the correct answer, while the other players present bluff answers--as convincingly as they can--and then each player votes for the answer they think is correct. Points are awarded when your bluff answer receives votes or if you vote for the correct answer. --Lisa Whipple ... Read more

My family and I are board-game fanatics. At first we werent sure as to whether or not to try this game, we've had it for YEARS.One night my older brother decided that we have to try it atleast once...When we did, we couldn't stop laughing. This game as earned a spot next to Monopoly, Balderdash, Uno, and Scattergories(sp?).Don't think...BUY!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars is there a lie dector in the house?
Talk about your off the wall questions that you always wondered upon but just never knew the answers too with a twist of some question you do have a clue too.

It's funny to hear what people make up at the spur of the moment and almost scary to hear people you know lie so well that you believe their very answer as if it was a given fact. Its also extremely impressive when you or someone actually knows the answer.

I played this game with a group of people ranging from 41 to 14, we all enjoyed it.The first time we played we had teams, so dont stop up to six players, its still just as fun with a group, but diffidently more fun as individual.

There was a few times one member in the group would draw a blank to even begin to answer, the first time this happen, the player's answer was "Its a government conspiracy."Which became a running gag when anyone ever drew a blank for a bluff answer.

Malarky begins with a question, only one person in the room will have the correct answer, you dont know whom has it till after the round has ended. You go around the table and everyone bluffs their way through it along with the correct answer.Than all players guess afterwards to whom spoke the rightful answer..... than the truth comes to be known to who is able to lie through their teeth...ha!Points are won by guessing the rightful answer.

Have fun, laugh a little, and always make time to play.

The word mancala means "to transfer" in Arabic, and different versions of this deceptively simple strategy game are played all around the world. Each of the 12 pits contains 4 "seeds" or stones. The player chooses one pit from which to "sow" the seeds. All the stones from that pit are placed one by one into the successive pits, counterclockwise around the board. The game ends when all of the pits on one side of the board are empty; the winner is the player with the most stones. I wish this could be 5.00 dollars instead of ten. Whenever I go to toysrus, I always look at it. So I am going to buy it and you should too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game for ALL Ages (Except for marble eaters)
This isn't really for any specific age group. As long as no one eats the pieces, it's great for anyone. It's simple, as soon as you understand the basic rules.
What you have to do is try to get the most marbles in your slot. You pick up the pieces, keep going until they run out, then pick marbles from the next pile, then keep going until there's a blank space or you land on your slot. (In which you'd get a free turn, and if it's on a blank space on your side, you get whatever marbles are on the opposite hole.)
It does sound confusing, but you'll catch on quickly. You can buy these sets for $5 easily (I did) and they're really nice-looking too. Play by yourself and develop never-go-wrong strategies, like I did. It's a surefire plan to make you win!
I completely recommend this game ALL THE WAY. I don't really know what educational values it has, but it's super fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for everyone!
This is my family's favorite game. It's a fun game no matter what the age mix.My kids (5 and 8) can not only play against each other without help from adults, but they are also fierce competition for we older/wiser (ha!) folks. The game is great for honing strategy skills and working the brain, but is somehow also very simple. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars MLB Superstars Baseball Game
My wife and I purchased this game to play with our nephews and nieces when they visit. The kids have enjoyed it very much, and I like it a lot better than some of the other children's games because of the baseball references. It's been a lot of fun for all of us to play.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids!
This game is educational fun for youngsters. It teaches them about primary colors and numbers, and introduces them to some of the basic terms of baseball (doubles, home runs, etc.).They also learn the names of today's baseball stars.Since there is no strategy involved, youngsters have as much opportunity to win as do adults playing against them.I also appreciate that the game parts are quite sturdy, and can easily be cleaned when the inevitable peanut butter or jelly gets on them.I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quick, fun game for 4-7 age group
I purchased the game for my son's 4th birthday and he likes it very much. It's a simple game (as it should be for 4 year olds). Basically, it's a race around the bases. It plays quickly so hedoesn't lose interest before it's over - in fact we usually have to play twice. The board and game pieces are very bright with the primary color scheme that appeals to 4 year olds.

Most importantly, he is learning baseball terms and players. For his birthday I took him to his first game (Expos at the Phillies). We played the APBA game the next day and when he drew the Scott Rolen card, I pointed out we had seen Rolen play. Now every time he draws Rolen or Vladimir Guerrero, he points out that we saw them in the game we went to. He can even pronounce "Nomar Garciaparra"!

Good job by APBA. I think the game is well designed for the 4-7 age group. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars bad
this game is supposed to be about dueling, that is what yugioh is about.in this game you barely duel, because after you beat a person they go away untill you turn off your gba and then turn it back on,so you do not have alot of people to deul. But it does have good graphics.

3-0 out of 5 stars Yu-Gi-Oh - The Sacred Cards GBA
This game is pretty much easy for me anyway because I could beat this game every day and win the entire game with in 3 HOURS with the help of 1 extra item and its called the GAME SHARK its a machine its not a game that allows you to beat any VIDEO Game Depending on the game system for example the Game Shark for GAME BOY ADAVNCE it will only work on GAMEBOY ADVANCE games and the SP system as well when you use the GAME SHARK on The Sacred Cards you don't need to use very low attack power and Defense power u could win any body with in 1-6 turns
bacause you get the following:

DECK CAPACIRTY : 9,999
DUELIST LEVEL : 9,999
MONEY/DOMINO : 999999 well something like that but its 9's.

And you can automatically use HIGH ATTACK POWER like DARK ELF with an attack strength of 2000 DEF 0800 very high. Well I will talk back A.S.A.P on another GAME REVIEW.

p.s the strongest SACRED CARDS DECK 00-40 cards :

x1 - Summoned Skull ATK 2500 DEF 1200
x1 - Dark Hole (Magic Card)
x1 - Raigeki ( Magic Card )
x1 - Swords Of Revealing Light ( Magic Card )
x1 - La Jinn The Mystical Genie Of The Lamp ATK 1800 DEF 1000
x3 - 7 Colored Fish ATK 1800 DEF 0800

x2 - The Bistro Butcher ATK 1800 DEF 1000

4-0 out of 5 stars My parents love it!
I initially bought this for my mom for Christmas, but my dad kept fighting her for it and we had to get him one too. When they go out of town, dad always packs this handy game.My parents are in their 50's and they have no problem with the game or the controls. It is fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars My Freecell Therapy Machine
I have had this toy for over a year and I love it. I wish there were a little more difference between spades and clubs and between hearts and diamonds, but overall it is a fast round of intense concentration, taking you out of stressful situations!

3-0 out of 5 stars It's not all fun and games
After I started playing Freecell online and on the computer, I saw this trusty gadget and thought that I would enjoy it.The easiest thing about this contraption was getting it out of the plastic case. There were no directions and after fighting with it for an hour, I put it down and went back to my regular solitaire game.I still haven't figured it out.I don't like the way it scrolls up and down so you aren't sure what card you are on.It is difficult to use, and I'm an adult... the only thing a kid might do is use it to break something else.If there were coherent directions, perhaps it might be more valuable to me... but at this point, it's somewhere in my basement and I'm not in much hurry to retrieve it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for Kids of All Ages!!!
My husband and I routinely get together with his parents to play games and they picked up the Mex Train Game a few months back.WE LOVE THIS GAME!It's a lot of fun and easy to learn! We haven't played it with any kids, but it would certainly be easy enough for children and could even have educational value in recongizing colors, patterns, numbers (of pips), not to mention learning to use logic to find the best way to play your tiles.

The game is a twist from dominos where players create rows oftiles coming from a centerpiece, sort of like spokes. Each person has their own line where they have to match the tiles with the same number of pips on them and you can play off other's lines at times as well.It can be a long game as you basically play 13 rounds before you are done (unless you make a modifciation to this plan).Score is kept by how many pips a player has left in his hand after one player uses all of their tiles during a round. At the end of all rounds the player with the lowest score wins.

We've played with a few different rule modifications, like re-picking your tiles if you don't get a starting tile and just had a blast.I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games. We also enjoy playing Sequence, Tick, Sorry / Sorry Card Revenge, Scrabble, Poker, etc.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for Adults too!
My parents brought this game to a family weekend - and we played it all weekend! The adults loved it, the kids loved it, and we could all play it together. Was interesting to see who identifies the patterns vs colors vs numbers, but the main thing was that we all had fun. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of our family favorites!
My kids (ages 6, 8, and 10) LOVE this game which we've had for about a year.We play a slightly different variety when the older kids are playing... you can hold one card in your hand instead of playing every card immediately. This puts a little bit of strategy into the game.

I brought this game along to a sleepover with my daughter's Girl Scout troop (a bunch of 10-year olds) and they couldn't get enough of this game!

5-0 out of 5 stars Slithery fun for all..in every home should have at least one
I own it and I don't even have kids!(I do have two pet snakes, though.)

Another benefit of his besides those mentioned in the other reviews...Hisss is a good physical game too, because you have to stre-e-e-tch your body to place the cards in position when the snakes get long.

Here's a tip - buy two sets and play with 100 cards instead of 50.This makes even longer snakes possible and also gives you two of every head and tail card!Just make plenty of floor space available!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mommy and Daddy's favorite game
If it were up to me, I'd burn Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. This game is so much "funner".It's different each time you play.My husband and I even played it by ourselves one night. Our four year old daughter absolutely loves it.Additionally, the cards are very thick and sturdy and will travel well. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars family game:chronology
excellent to spend quality time with your family. Very educational game with no conflicts or discussions arising from playing the game

5-0 out of 5 stars Games for the thinking family
I am not normally a game player - board games have always been my downfall.

This is a exception and one that I'm sending to my nieces and nephews. Fast moving, makes you think and interact and perhaps best of all for someone like me who is over 40, let's me get revenge on my kids since video game "twitch skills" don't figure in!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game for the holidays
You needn't be a history buff to play, but it sure can take a smirk off the face of the "smarty pants" in your crowd. My dad did that to my mom and I last Thanksgiving, whipping us two games in a row, and he's not much of a game player, reader, or student of history. It made for a great game for the those of us who know our history, and those of us who don't (i.e., you can get pretty far with an educated guess). ... Read more
