2-0 out of 5 stars Not for Families
I agree with the other review. We bought this to play with the family. I do not know why it is even called Family Fued. The questions are inappropriate for kids. Way too much about sex. My kids after the first time playing asked "What is a stripper"? Not the way they need to learn about grown up topics. I am very dissapointed in the company for making these questions. If they want adult topics make a seperate game for that!

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy
My family & neighbors have asked to play this game often since we bought it.It has been a hit in our household.I even popped the DVD in and play by myself one night! It seems geared more for an adult crowd though.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS GAME!
I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about! I just bought this game and I LOVE IT! It's very similar to the game show. I played this with my friends and family at home and really enjoyed it!

Editorial Review

Guesstures turns up the heat on the tired game of charades with a few modernizations. Good, quick pantomiming is still the thing, but now teams need to act out and guess four words in a matter of seconds. The "mimer-timer," designed like a movie scene board, controls everything. The actor draws four word cards and places them from easiest to hardest in the timer unit for each scene. After the arm swings down for "Action," time is rapidly eaten away and so are cards as the performer gestures wildly like a silent movie actor. When the cast guesses the word, the actor grabs the card before the "mimer-timer" does. Whew! It's a lot to think about. Each word is rated based on difficulty, so whatever cards the team correctly guesses and the actor manages to seize are tallied up and recorded. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

  • Use gestures to prompt team to guess the right word before Mimer-Timer eats card
  • Includes 504 cards with box, Mimer-Timer game unit, crayon and 2 label sheets

4-0 out of 5 stars great group fun
I played this game at a party where I did not really know anyone.there were about ten of us playing on two teams and it was great fun.Everyone was laughing, everyone could do it and there was no fear in not being able to think up ways to describe the object since you can pick the hard or easy word during your turn.I really loved it

5-0 out of 5 stars Party Down Guesstures!!!!!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars I am sorry I bought this game
My grandson is 11 and he just isn't interested in this game.I bought both of the River Crossing games, for Christmas, and he hasn't even looked at the second one.

5-0 out of 5 stars River Crossing Is VERY Addicting!
I received this game for Christmas, and I hadn't even asked for it.I absolutely LOVE it.

The game consists of the main puzzle tray, plastic stumps, a little magnetic man, 5 magnetic plastic boards of different sizes, 40 puzzle cards (ranging in difficulty), and a carrying bag to store everything (which comes in handy!).

This game really gets you thinking, and you actually find yourself thinking AHEAD by many moves. The object of the game is to get the little man from one side of the river, to the other. You do so, by moving planks from stump to stump.Sometimes you have to drop a plank off at a convenient location, just to pick it up later on when you need it.

I started playing it and couldn't stop!Once you start getting the hang of it, you find yourself wanting to continue as you figure out the easier puzzles.I must say, that as they become more difficult, you REALLY need to think ahead by looking at the pieces you need towards the "end" of the crossing.Don't drag boards that you don't need (and DON'T drop them in places that hinder your crossing!).

I definitely recommend this game for people who enjoy puzzles, or games in general. The harder puzzles may be too difficult for a younger child to enjoy, and they may get bored with it.ALSO- there are MANY small parts that could be a choking hazard for small children.Make sure you keep the parts in the bag, and keep it out of reach!

5-0 out of 5 stars River Crossing - Another hit from ThinkFun!
ThinkFun succeeds once again, with a simple idea... lay down logs to find a path from start to finish across the river.Place your logs carefully, and you'll get where you need to go, but don't get in your own way, and you can't jump over the water.40 challanges included (plus 40 more in River Crossing 2!), that will keep even adults busy for quite a while.

Highly recommended for those visual / spatial gifted kids, and thier parents ;-)Stores in it's own nylon bag, a plus, since there are more than a few loose pieces.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Party Ever
I saw one of these Murder Mystery games at a bookstore, and thought they looked interesting. This was my first Murder Mystery game I have ever hosted, and it was a blast!!!!Everyone come over dressed up in character, we had 50's music playing, and barbecue food. All of the guests got into the parts more than I thought they would!!!This was an extremely fun game, although I don't have any other mysteries to compare it to.Now we are planning to get together once a month for a Murder Mystery night! This game was just a blast!

IMPORTANT:Even though this game says 6-8 players (there are 2 non-suspect parts), I would highly reccomend there only being 6 players. The other two guests really had no part in any of the action. They just sort of sat there and watched. They aren't in any of the scripted parts, and people don't have replies to their questions. It should only be for 6 players!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Murder Party for Adults
The box says this is for "Adults", especially since the game contains some flirty statements and descriptive accusations in the script. At the end of each script or dialogue each person had to accuse others of being the murderer, based on facts in their script booklet. The party planner's book gives great suggestions for props, music and food. We checked out a 50's CD from the library and played it all night long. We also had a hula hoop, 50's book and a 57 Chevy prop to go with the theme. The end had quite a twist, which made it fun and interesting. Overall, a fun game! Requires about three hours to play game. Note to Party Planner: Read through the first dialogue of the part you play to better understand how the dialogue should go. This will help you better explain to others. Have fun! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BUNCO Rocks
As the previous reviewer complained about this games simplicity, he has obviously never attended a BUNCO Party! This is a awesome game to play with a group of friends, it is easy, allows for conversation, and has become a craze across the USA!!!There are countless Bunco party's going on each week which allow moms and I am sure some dads a night out with friends & neighbors for a little fun. This kit is great and has everything you'll need to host a BUNCO party!Get the wine chilling & the appetizers ready for a fun party you and your friends will never forget!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring...
I played this game a bunch of times today. The game was pointless, slow, and boring. The only thing I liked was ringing the bell. The point of the game is to roll 21 ones, then twos, then threes, etc. How lame is that.

I recommend you try Yatzee instead. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good could be Better....
This game is fun but it is also tricky.I have the game in a collectors tin which makes for nice keeping.I have fun playing this game as I love board games but I can find some of the questions extremely tricky for adults as I wasn't old enough for a lot of the ?'s and then for the children's ?'s many are too easy.So this game can get frustrating for us playing it.I do wish they would come out with more ?'s as some have suggested as I too have finished mine.I still have fun playing this game, but find those few things a con in this great game.

3-0 out of 5 stars Just a Little Disappointed
I agree with the other reviewers that this game is a lot of fun but there is only one small box of cards (1/2 adult and 1/2 child questions). My daughter and I played 2 games and had already gone through the cards. Even though we didn't get the same questions most of the time it was still disappointing. I called Hasbro and they have no plans of making additional cards for this game, which is really too bad. Does anyone else remember when Trivial Pursuit had 2 huge boxes of questions and the other question boxes that you could purchase?
Aaaaah memories!

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun game for everyone
I got this game from my hubby for Christmas, and I have to say that I'm not disappointed. It covers many of the Disney animated movies, starting with "Steamboat Willy" from 1928 and going right up to "Tarzan" from 1999.And the questions aren't all "Who is this character?"...some of them are quite challenging, especially if you haven't seen the particular movie!
The game comes with 2 sets of cards - the adult questions and the children questions, so everyone can play.
All in all, this is a great game for children and adults alike. ... Read more

Editorial Review

In this electronic adaptation, the hangman is a cowboy in a Western town. There are 11 chances to correctly guess the word from a memory bank of 8,000 words arranged in 10 categories. The game fits in the palm of a hand, and there's much to control. Select the skill level and word length (even whether or not to have sound effects play a victory tune when the cowboy is saved from the rope). Only Level 1 allows the player to pick from categories like Animals, City, Music, and Wild West. Otherwise, it's as random as traditional Hangman. Game 2 scrambles the letters, so it's even harder to guess which letter to pick from the lot and to guess the word. It comes ready to play, keeps score, and has an automatic shutoff. Great for long road trips. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
I am in general one that loves the game Hangman. This electronic, handheld version made that much easier for me for several reasons.First of all, if you don't have anyone else to play with (for instance, your family doesn't like hangman as much as you do, like me), then you are all set, because you can play this all by yourself.I also like the fact that there are several categories, and THEN you can choose how long you want the word to be.
I like this game because of my love for Hangman/words.
I really don't have a strong feeling about its educational value, however it does teach some things.
I have so far not broken mine, and I've had it for a while now.
Overall, I think this version of Hangman is an absolute Must Have.

5-0 out of 5 stars War in a War Zone
Ran across this item by accident while deployed to Iraqi Freedom. Spent many a fun-filled hour (or 6) playing this strategy game. Gave most of us a nice way to unwind and blow off steam for a few hours.
You have to be very forward thinking in order to actually manage to take over the world and/or moon--don't over extend your army or you may find yourself sitting the last round or two on the sidelines just rooting for someone else's downfall--been there, done that.
The differing areas, nuclear fall-out zones, and the fantastic Command cards can turn the tide of the game in a single round--especially the fifth and final; making pay-back games a highly enjoyable must.
The rules can seem a bit more complicated than the original at first, but once you get used to them, the game just rolls along.
Also played the LoTR version, nowhere near as much fun!

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST BOAED GAME EVER!!!
I thought it was really cool and used a lot of strategery.

2-0 out of 5 stars I still like the original Risk better.
I play Risk a lot.I spend about 10 hours every week playing Risk with 4 or 5 of my friends.
I personally think the additional rules and features of this new Risk game ruin the game. One of the major fun element of the original Risk has always been the unpredictiblity of the outcome. You never know who is going to win until the end of the game.
With Risk 2210 AD, there is actually a formula you can follow to be the winner and who ever achieve this formula the most and the fastest will be the winner for sure. When you play with a group of experienced players for this game, everybody would know who would eventually win the game very early on, which ruin the fun.
And when somebody using this particular formula to play the game and he achieves it, it become almost impossible of other players to turn the tide unless the rest of the "losers" team up together against the leading player. But whats the point?Yes, I know, you can say that you do team up in the original Risk too.But that's totally different here in this case.In the original Risk, the so called Allience sometimes can be a fake one instead of real, but in this game, the rest of the "losers" have to be genuinely allied together to prevent the leading winner wins the game. Then it become a pointless game from that point cause if another player become the leading player, another team up will than appears to stop this new player. In the original Risk game, the one with the Mission Card features, you never know who is really going to win until the last minute.

Another thing about this game that I don't like is that the added Lunar map and the ocean cities aren't really well developed. The Lunar map looks like a lazy add-on features. The ocean cities don't make much difference with or without. These add-on maps kind of riduclous sometimes during our play time cause nobody bother to get them when we know about "the formula".

I personally never get tired of the original Risk game.It doesn't have "the perfect formula."It's still the board game with the most fun.But if you really want to try something new, I would suggest you try the Lord Of The Ring Risk instead. ... Read more

Like many card games, Rack-O is part skill, part luck of the draw. Two to four players try to get their rack of 10 cards in consecutive order, from lowest to highest, first. The cards are numbered from 1 to 60, and each player takes a turn by drawing and discarding. Bonus Rack-O points are earned when a player gets a perfect run of three or more cards. The first to rack up 500 points wins. The rule book doesn't suggest variations, but more challenge can be added by having to get certain number patterns, like even numbers or multiples of 3, which will also increase the number skills development that's part of this game. --Lynne Sampson ... 4-0 out of 5 stars They Hate Games, but Love Rack-O
My husband, father, and nephew all hate games, and can barely be persuaded to play ANY game. But all three, once coerced into playing it for the first time actually LIKED it, and wanted their own game.It is a very simple game (for those 8 and up), doesn't take too much concentration, just a little luck, and it provides a little family time away from the TV.Kids also enjoy learning how to sequence their cards, and it teaches number value to the younger players.Good family game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Fun Over And Over Again
I won't sit and explain the rules of this game because they are very simple. What I will say is that this game is one that the whole family can enjoy.Other than the cards eventually wearing out, it is a vrey durable game.I have enjoyed Rack-O for a long time, and if you haven't ever purchased this game, I must tell you that you are really missing out.Give it a try.I'm sure you won't be sorry!

Upwords takes the likes of Scrabble to new heights. Players get more power out of every word and create more play possibilities. Players can build from words crossword puzzle-style or by stacking letters on top of tiles already on the board. The challenge is to make new words each time. For example, "stack" becomes "snack," then "snapshot." If it sounds like 3-D Scrabble, there's more to know. Scoring is simpler: each tile earns two points, and each stacked tile earns one. The usual Nos apply: no capitalized, hyphenated, or abbreviated words, etc. The set comes with 100 letter tiles, tile racks for two to four players, and a plastic game board. --Lynne Sampson ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game for All Ages in the Family
I bought this game because I remembered how much fun it was as a child. What I didn't realized is that it is a great game for adults to play with children of different levels. My husband and I play like Scrabble, looking for long words. My stepdaughter (13yo) looks for tricky ways to create 2 words at once (she once made 3 new words by putting a new word between two other words - talk about points!). My stepson (12) has a limited spelling skills (underachiever) but by changing the words he can really rack up the points and keep up with the rest of us. It's helping us teach him more too. Great game!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Creative and Strategic Game
This is my favorite game.Scrabble is an excellent game that I have played for years.Scrabble relies on the point value of letters and expanding on words placed on the board.UpWords allows you to change words, again and again. For instance star can become starve, starving, starting, flashing, crashing. And when you add to two or three words simultaneously, the points go soaring!I like it better because you need to be creative and strategic. After a few games, we learned that placing small words (3, 4 or 5 letters max) provides the most opportunity for an interesting game that goes upwards effectively and uses up the majority of the board. You cannot think Scrabble minded when playing this game as with Scrabble you think of long, high point words.Toward the end when you start stacking on multiple words, the point values for words increase significantly with minor word changes.Great Game!

1-0 out of 5 stars just make it stop

Answer correctly and you just might score a wedge in the junior version of the wildly popular Trivial Pursuit. Using the same game play as the adult edition--players move their pieces around the board, answering questions in hopes of collecting all six scoring wedges--this kid-friendly format includes categories just for the 8-and-older crowd. Young trivia buffs will be challenged and entertained by this lively game of wits and memory. But the real fun comes when adults try to join the game. So, Pop, what are Wakko, Yakko, and Dot better known as? The game, for two to four players or teams, includes a 20-by-20-inch folding gameboard, question-and-answer cards, dice, four tokens, and 24 scoring wedges. Oh, yes, Wakko et al. are Animaniacs! --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
This is a great version of the game. We got this for our 11 year old son and it is fun to play. It is easier than the regular edition (no surprise). The really nice thing is that it has multiple choice -- each question has three options to choose between. The instructions are simple and the questions are good, with a wide range of interests. Definitely recommended for children and families.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay for very young ones
(I'm writing from the perspective of a 35 year-old.)You don't get a whole lot of questions (two small decks), and we have come across a few that do not match the category they are supposed to represent (e.g., a question about painters in the "games" category). The game seems to have been put together quickly and cheaply. You don't get plastic "pie" pieces as in the adult version, you get cardboard slices that you set on top of pictures of the pies that are drawn on the corners of the gameboard (not a major complaint but the colors of the drawings exactly match the colors of the cardboard pie-slice markers, making it hard to see them). The questions include multiple choice answers, so it's accordingly easier to get them.Of course you can simply omit the choices when reading the questions if you want to increase the level of difficulty. It's not a bad game, but it's not an excellent game either.Middle of the road.Probably best for kids under 12.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN GAME
This is a very fun game.No offense to anyone, but the person that said that these questions are for five-year-olds is definetely wrong, unless that person is a genious. Most of the questions are NOT very easy.OK, some are kind of simple, but most are pretty hard. There are all kinds of different questions, that some people who are watch football and baseball all day would probably know.I highly reccomend this game. It's a fun way to get smart. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars face off air hockey
I bought this for my 8 year old grandchild and it was a big hit.Flows easily and is used often. One leg was broken when we received it but used super glue and it was like new.I wanted to order another, but alas, on Christmas, the answer was no.For the price, I feel this is an exceptional product

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Product for the Price
I bought this air hockey product for our 7 year old twin boys this past Christmas. They rated it as their "best gift" and it is one of the few toys that is still being used and enjoyed on a regular basis.I was concerned that the table size would be too small and the air flow would be inadequate to have a fast paced game for the cost of this model. However, I am extrememly pleased with the table proportion and it has a flow more than adequate to "float" the puck and produces a very fast game.We started out playing with it on the floor with the boys sitting down, but have since moved it to a small table and they now play standing up.It is a fun game for parents to play with their children and it is the type of game that kids can play with a minimum amount of disagreement or supervision. There is a manual "score board" to ten points for each player and the only additional rule we had to implement was to keep their "free hand" off the table. It is a great game for eye-hand coordination and the fast pace makes it exciting for the players and spectators alike.

1-0 out of 5 stars BORING!
This table is so stupid. Half of the time it dosen't work the air pumps vavle fuses alot.Go save your money and watch paint dry ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game Ever !
This Game Is The Best!! I bought this game because it looked so fun!! Even Though I'm Eleven and have no siblings at home I can still play it by my self. Evenmy parents like this game so I don't have to play by myself all the time. I reccomend this game for everyone!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
We are a BIG TIME game family. We have several of the Cranium games and have thoroughly enjoyed them. After reading the reviews of this game I had hopes that it would be as much fun as some of the others we have played. We gave this game to my 8 year old son for Christmas and it was very disappointing. There is no challenge to the game whatsoever. You choose a card which has a question on it and write your answer on the pad. When you close the lid, the timer starts. The problem is that we have been able to guess the answer within seconds of the timer starting and it's usually the first person who guesses it.We looked to the directions to see if there is some way to make it more challenging but there weren't any suggestions given. We thought we would try to make up our own rules such as NOT giving the first letter on the "word worm" questions, but that made it impossible to guess the answer before the timer ran out.

My son thinks it's "kind of" fun and he still asks to play with it because it is new.The other problem is that each card only has one challenge to it.So once you go through all the cards you are pretty much done with the game.I'm certain there will be a "Booster" pack that will need to be purchased separately if this game ends up being popular.

My overall recommendation, skip this game. There are too many other great games to waste your money on this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Kids seem to love it
This was my first experience with Cranium games so I don't know how this one compares to the others. My boys, ages 10 and 8 seem to really enjoy the game and it can be fun, but it is not as much fun as I thought it would be after reading the reviews. You draw cards and whatever card you draw determines what activity you do. One activity is to use clay to sculpt your answer to the question. Well, we never have enough time to actually sculpt something. Usually, we just shout out answers without even seeing what the person is sculpting. One activity has you guesstimate your answer to a question, such as "How many times have you flushed the toilet in your lifetime?" A lot of those questions aren't easy for my 8 year old to actually come up with an answer that we could possibly get. And the point is to give an answer that can be guessed because you get points for guessing correctly and for having your answer guessed. So, a lot of the game just seems like shouting out answers and not doing much of the activities. However, my sons seem to enjoy it but I think a lot of it is because their dad and I are playing it with them. Also, you have to remember to push the guess button every time, which so far, my 8 year old forgets to do, so you can get the maximum number of points. Maybe after we play it some more, we will get a better handle on how it is to work and we will get more enjoyment out of it. I wouldn't suggest buying this game unless your kids were a little older than mine. Hope this helps somebody!! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Even electronic toys have gone extreme. Kids love the original Bop It, an electronic toy that challenges response time to pull, twist, and bop different parts of the toy. The extreme version adds two more tasks, more sounds, and a taunting, smart-aleck announcer who directs the game. As you get better, the game moves faster until you miss a beat and lose, accompanied by a fair amount of noise and ridicule from the toy. People who don't think they'd ever want to play Bop It Extreme won't be able to put it down; it instills a compulsive need to bop till you drop. It can be played in a group and makes a good party game--even for serious adults. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Too much, and makes you lose track of time!
I absolutely LOVE and RECOMMEND this toy for all children and adults. Not only do you get to test your hand/eye coordination and listening skills, but you can have a blast while doing it and challenge your friends and family. My only issue with the BOP-IT EXTREME is the volume, it's not something you can play in quiet/ without disturbing others, I had to solve the SHHHHHHHH BE QUIET issue by putting some duct tape over the speaker to muffle the nosed down a little bit, there is NO volume controls. but overall it's a very fun and unique gift to give and toy, and it makes for a great drinking or party game for adults!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Special needs Bop-It Genius
My second son has cerebral palsy and struggles with lots of skills. However, much to my surprise he excels at this crazy little game! I am a physically able bodied woman approaching 40 and my high score so far is 17. That's on a GOOD day. My son just hit his personal best score of 130. Imagine his dismay when I looked it up online and informed him that the top score possible was 250. He doesn't know what he will do after 250. Now, if only someone creative could formulate a way to MARKET this skill. ;+) If we didn't already have Bop-It Extreme I would much prefer the second edition because of the volume control and/or headphones. However, I do like the fact that we have to master some patterning and math skills to figure out the highscore from the sound beats. Happy bopping.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bop it Extreme II is the best!!
Bop it Extreme II is a really fun game. I first played it at my friend's house. We played it for hours and held exciting competitions. It is probably one of the best electronic games that I have ever played! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Backgammon Set
Great Value!I upgraded this set with percision dice.I have used it for months to play local and national tournaments. It is holding up well.

1-0 out of 5 stars WRONG BACKGAMMON GAME AGAIN!!
LAST TIME I ORDERED THIS, I EXPECTED WHAT I SAW IN THE PICS AS OTHER REVIEWERS, THE PRETTY BLUE TOURNAMENT BACKGAMMON WITH VINYL OUTSIDE AND FELT INSIDE, VERY ATTRACTIVE.WHEN THEY SENT ME AN UGLY BROWN WOOD ONE INSTEAD, I SENT THEM AN EMAIL NOTIFYING AMAZON OF THE PROBLEM.THEY RESPONDED QUICKLY, AND SAID THEY'D IMMEDIATELY SEND OUT THE CORRECT ITEM (THE ONE PICTURED AND DESCRIBED) AND TO SEND THE UGLY ONE BACK AT THEIR EXPENSE.I SENT THE UGLY ONE BACK, AND TODAY I GET THE REPLACEMENT DELIVERY.....IT'S ANOTHER UGLY BROWN WOOD BACKGAMMON!!(BESIDES BEING UGLY, WOOD IS NOT DURABLE, IT SCRATCHES VERY EASILY, SHOWS EVERY LITTLE FINGERPRINT AS WELL!) SO, THIS IS GOING BACK TOO.WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY MY PACKING SLIP SAYS "PAVILION TOURNAMENT BACKGAMMON", YET THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS IS.
WHERE CAN I GET THE ONE PICTURED AND DESCRIBED HERE?IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT, DON'T SHOW IT FOR SALE AND TEASE PEOPLE!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
What I received was not what was pictured.I got this as a gift and purposly choose the more expensive one, because of its coloring. The one I got was brown and not blue as pictured above. ... Read more
