1-0 out of 5 stars HI! I'm a 375 pound fatty who loves stupid games!
I weigh-in at 375 pounds, and all I can do is lay in bed and play video games. I can't get out of the house because I'm too big to move.

So I spend a LOT of time playing these stupid video games.

This one is like really sucky though. I about gagged on my sliders (White Castles) while I was playing this one.

I seen this on the TV and I mail-ordered it, and it came the same time as my pizzas were delivered by Domino's, so the Domino's guy played it with me for a while and even he didn't like it. Thank gawd the pizzas were good!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for the kids, not as good for the kid at heart.
If you are like me, you may recall playing these classics whereever arcade machines could be found.Kids will enjoy it in car trips, or just a great toy for baby sitters to occupy the children.

The adults will remember how they "snubbed" these classics in want of the better sequels. We passed over Pac Man for Ms pac Man. Gave up Galaxian for Galaga, and ditched DigDug for Mr. Do.

Yes, the games are still good. You might want it just for the nostalgia.Heck, anyone who remembers the Pac Man fiasco of the Atari 2600 would have killed for this thing 20 years ago! But this isn't 20 years ago.

Worth having for several reasons, the games are fun, but don't expect recaptured youth for 20 bucks.

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny,But...........

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
We can play this game with the entire extended family-

Our nephew who is as young as 7 can play this game and it is great for mental stratagies.

I recommend this to all.

5-0 out of 5 stars A classic MUST!
This is a must have for all classic game lovers. With 3 of our 4 children visually disabled, it was quite easy for them to see the dots (easy for the older parents too!). The youngest children were not frustrated because they could match up the dominoes by color, and eventually learned the patterns and counting as well. They are very durable and come inside a tin that has a snug-fitting lid to prevent spills. Detailed instructions are included for many versions of play. This is a perfect game for Family Game night as the games are short enough to complete before younger players get frustrated.

5-0 out of 5 stars thumps up !

Yahtzee has been called America's favorite dice game and, with tattered boxes closeted in homes across the nation, that claim is not hard to believe. Put five dice in a shaker, mix in strategy, add luck, stir--then let the fun begin! So how do you improve on something this good? By sprucing it up.Yahtzee Deluxe is aglitter with sparking dice, a velvet-lined playing tray, a sturdy cushioned shaker that has the feel of soft leather, and detailed score cards that make totaling points easier than ever. The detailed instruction booklet even includes a section on the history of dice. The plush playing surface is set inside a light plastic frame that seems a trifle small, but this is a minor complaint. As a handsome replacement for an old, faded game, or a brand-new source of family fun, Yahtzee Deluxe offers the same excitement that has been entertaining players since it was first released in 1956. --George Laney ... This is a great value and we have enjoyed many hours entertainment from this simple FUN game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yahtzee Review
This game is loads of fun.I got it for my eighth birthday.I thought to myself "Oh, it's one of those stupid board games again," but it wasn't.I'm 10 now, and I'm still playing with Yahtzee.I like it because of how much thinking is involved, and you have to make impartant decisions, like "Hmm...should I put my score in 4 of a kind, or in my fours up top?"That skill can also help you along the way in school. But you know what, most games that are educational can be boring. But not Yahtzee!Yahtzee is also fun because of the excitement in you while hoping to get a Yahtzee, which is worth fifty points, which is the most points you can get.And you always feel happy when you roll something that you know is good! Now, I don't have the Deluxe Edidtion of Yahtzee, but I'm sure that if I liked the regular Yahtzee, the Delexe Edition would be even better.I hope you order this game soon. And for those of you out there who don't want to buy Yahtzee, because you think you are too cool or too old for it, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Its good for beginners, but NOT FOR SPEED-CUBING!!!
I think this specific Rubik's Cube is good, but I don't reccommend it for speed-cubing. Sometimes the faces are hard to turn, and the stickers aren't of best quality, but it is good for beginners. I have one of these, but when I become good at cubing I will buy a better-quality one that is made for speed. Also, do not buy the imitation cubes (such as ones you can get from the Flea Market), because they are bad quality.

If you are not going to dedicate your time to learning the algorithms (sequences) needed to solve this, I do not reccommend to buy ANY Rubik's Cube, because you will become very frustrated in a short period of time, and probably end up cheating to solve it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Night to Remember
I remember my thirteenth birthday party being one of the best birthday parties I had ever had.My mom and I ordered the game and after looking at the kit became really excited. The kit came with everything you needed; a map of the town, player manuals, clue books, party ideas, food ideas, and more.I invited seven of my friends and the party was a blast. The table was set and everyone had a notebook to record clues. The costumes people wore were great. We had a fun time deciphering the names, for example 'Howie Bledsoe' was 'how he bled so'.We quizzed every character, drilling them for their clues during courses. It was a lot of fun figuring out who commited the murder, the ending was a surprise. To this day I still remember how much fun my thirteenth birthday had been.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Barbecue with a Vampire
I hosted a teen murder mystery with the Barbecue with a Vampire set for my 11th birthday. It takes about 3 1/2 hours with the cake and food in between. It is about a girl who gets murdered by a vampire and your friends are all suspects. We went around the table "gossiping" about other people. I played the part of Jacqueline Hyde, the body builder. This story gets really interesting!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!

1-0 out of 5 stars Really wanted to like it
I purchased this item based on customer reviews. They were all good, ALL seemed to be 5 stars. When I received the game and played it with the bunch of women I play games with every Saturday night, we ended up closing the game midway through. Most of the questions were too simple. For instance, almost all of one of the catagories cards read something like this:Read the qualities on the back of the card and determine which player best demonstrates them, or something to that effect.Well, I've known these people for years, there was no challenge there, not at all. Then there was the sing song cards that had you sing lyrics to given songs as long as you didn't sing the title, again, extremely easy. Trying to figure out who has the biggest hands of the people playing, not good.Who is the tallest playing, how is this fun? As a matter of fact, the only cards we enjoyed were the tongue twisters, as they were the only ones that were challenging.
I was very disappointed in this game and wish I could send it back because it will never be played again. If this game sounds good to you, buy Cranium instead.Same premise but better executed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Cranium...Possibly the Best Boardgame Ever!!!
I have played a lot of party games. Cranium, balderdash, Taboo, etc. I loved them all and they never got old. But after I bought Rigamarole and played it, I have to say it beats all of those games. It has the same concept of Cranium (except it has a total of 6 categories...not 4) and has many more "games" for each card. The games rarely repeat and you find the craziest and funniest games to play. It even comes with a blindfold to play a category of blindfolded games (for example, a blindfolded player must listen to the ingredients of a food and guess what the food is). It also has a series called "stage fright" which require pantomiming or singing or such...."think tank" which requires you to recite stories without using 'e' in any of the words or trying to list words whose letters are in alphabetical order within the word... "double whammy" which are a series of various games that are worth twice as much and are like making a player laugh for 10 seconds on the other team or selecting a person from each team to see who can take the largest step..."Free to Be Me" which often asks to determine on your team who has some given characteristics or traits such as "an outtie" or "who was born in a year divisible by 3". Some of the challenges are tough but thats what makes it fun! The objective on the instruction reads "To have fun and be social." Thats exactly what this game does. If you want the ULTIMATE game, buy this if you like cranium...buy it if you don't.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
One thing with board games is that I'm not competitive.Often, I'd rather just read the questions or challenges than actually play the game.My attitude can infuriate competitive teammates and opponents.A great thing about this game is that one can always come back. So, for those competitive types, they're never completely out of it and for slacker teammates, redemption is often around the corner.

I like the format of this game and it's creative mix of challeneges. The stories we tell without using a word with the letter 'e' may never make any sense, but it's entertaining to try.

This is definately a game worth owning and way better than a night in front of the tv.

Buy it. ... Read more

Clear your throat and drink that honey-lemon tea: It's time toplay Encore, the game of dueling larynxes. The goal is to come up witha song that contains particular words--and then sing lines from thesong that contains those words. Here's how it works: The first teamturns up a card featuring five words; the two teams then take turnssinging at least six words of any song that contains one of those five. The round continues until one team is stumped, which, if the word is"love," could take a while. But repetition is not allowed, and forevery "said" and "moon," there's a "highway" or "piano"--whaddya dowhen you've exhausted the Billy Joel songbook? And it's great to draw alyric that's in a song title, but if you don't know five others thatcome after, you'll be like the player who drew "nice"; he spent theentire run of the sand timer with his shoulders hunched like Sinatrabecause he couldn't connect "and let's make all the stops along theway" with the song's title, "Nice 'N' Easy." Oh, and don't play Encorewith Renaissance Faire actors--when they draw the word "lady," they'llcome up with an inexhaustible supply of 15th-century madrigals. Onlyafter they've won will you discover that they were all bogus. --TonyMason ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Good - Well, Most of the time
Do not get me wrong, Encore is a great game. There are just a few things that make it less enjoyable.First of all, it is hard to explain the rules and gameplay to some people. Some people understand it right away, but others do not.Second of all, how can you land in the grand finale exactly when you have two dice - and are one spot away from it? Third (and my biggest point of all) anyone with half a brain could act like they didn't know a song until the other team flipped the timer over and then "suprisingly" start singing it.

It also is very easy to make up songs that no one has ever heard of and say that they are real.If you can kind of make your own rules up, buy this game.If you are the type of person who ALWAYS has to follow every rule in the instruction book, stay away.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Board Game
My family LOVES this game. You never know where your inspiration will come from; in my house we've gone from Sinatra to Dead Kennedys to vacation bible school songs. You spend as much time laughing as singing!Forget musical talent! As long as you know the words and can closely approximate the tune, you're golden.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game Ever
We are big game players and have never had more fun with any other game. It's great for a party of adults, for adults with kids, for college kids...whatever. People always talk about it weeks after we play. Our middle school son and his friends will always join in if they see us playing with friends which says a great deal!! We've played with all of our friends, our kids, both sets of parents (!), relatives, my minister, people from other countries and people we didn't know at all. I would say it's the perfect icebreaker but you won't stop playing. LOL They put the board back in which is great. There should be a tv show! Our 17 year old would be world champ! ... Read more

This game was an instant hit with the family. My six year old has mastered it fairly well after a few games with assistance, and my eleven year old has it down pat. It's fun for the adults, too.It does take a while to play a complete game of eleven hands with four players (about 90 minutes).

5-0 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE MONPOLY GAME!!!!!!!
I just got this game last year and it is fun to play by myself and it is fun. I can pick what sides to be on and I always picked the darkside of the force. I recomend this game for any hard core star wars fans like me.

3-0 out of 5 stars Where are all our favorite characters?
Star Wars Monopoly - great idea.Leaving out Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3-PO, Yoda, Jabba, Boba Fett, and / or a Stormtrooper seems inexcusable. Why did they include a TIE Fighter Pilot, Tusken Raider, and Grand Moff Tarkin?Did they even ask the fans what characters they'd want?Great idea, just poorly executed.Hasbro, we expect more from you.

3-0 out of 5 stars For a Star Wars junkie, perhaps...
The mechanics of the game are generally true to Monopoly.I really love the Star Wars films and I have read fair amount of Star Wars fiction, but I found the unique place names a tad too obscure to make play easy the first time around.

If you have a die-hard Star Wars fan who knows all the names of all the characters, and the planets they are from, this is probably the game for them.

Though younger generations might find this difficult to wrap their heads around, not all great games involve electronic equipment and high-priced video game consoles. Case in point: the classic card game hybrid Tripoley, a combination of Michigan rummy, hearts, and good old-fashioned poker. This Tripoley set features a foldable mat, demarcated for the unique requirements of this game along with a set of large print playing cards, 100 chips, and a set of rules in both English and Spanish. Unlike many popular toys, Tripoley is non-violent and is not licensed from popular movies or cartoons. It''s a bit challenging to learn at first but ultimately not hard to get the hang of, making it a perfect family game night activity. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

Anyone can become a megamillionaire just like Mr. Burns with thiscollector's edition of Monopoly based on The Simpsons, the beloved,sometimes-controversial animated TV series. The rules of the game remain thesame, but the old Monopoly properties are now all Springfield landmarks, with anew monorail running across the game board. Players use tiny pewter game tokensof Bart, Homer, and other Springfield characters as they purchase stores, restaurants, and homes. Who wouldn't want to buy Krustylu Studios or theKwik-E-Mart? Instead of acquiring houses and hotels, players try to accumulate monorailstops and stations on their properties. Customized Chance and Community Chestcards offer additional sly references and cartoon drawings of the characters. The cultural references are up-to-the-minute, but the educational value ofplaying strategic board games remains constant. --Marcie Bovetz, mother andformer children's librarian ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Exxxcellent!!!!
This is an extremely great version of what is the greatest board game ever created. The rules are of course exactly the same but the Simpsons properties, money, Chance and Community Chess cards and everything else make it a fresh experience. The fact that the game board and game tokens are monorail themed does date it a little reducing it to a four and a half star rating. I would have preferred it wasn't that way with just the four train stations monorail themed. It is still great though but I would also like to have seen more game tokens of the other family members especially Grandpa and Maggie, and also other characters like Mr Burns in addition or instead of the doughnut. They could have also put Snake in the jail cell on that corner of the board rather than the traditional Monopoly criminal icon and Chief Wigum on the Go to Jail Square but maybe I'm just being picky.

This is an excellent gift idea for anyone who even only occasionally enjoys the Simpsons and a must for anyone who is a fan. Also recommended to enjoy the game even more is Monopoly Companion The Players Guide by Philip Orbanes. This book will refresh the rules and save arguments and even teach you some, such as I never knew the number of houses was limited for a reason so that you could strategise and not buy hotels to stop someone else with a set from building.Just buy the game, you won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, Great Fun!!!!!!
This is by far the coolest monopoly edition to date; and i've seen them all. The attention to detail is amazing. You won't regret this buy. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for Families
I agree with the other review. We bought this to play with the family. I do not know why it is even called Family Fued. The questions are inappropriate for kids. Way too much about sex. My kids after the first time playing asked "What is a stripper"? Not the way they need to learn about grown up topics. I am very dissapointed in the company for making these questions. If they want adult topics make a seperate game for that!

4-0 out of 5 stars Happy
My family & neighbors have asked to play this game often since we bought it.It has been a hit in our household.I even popped the DVD in and play by myself one night! It seems geared more for an adult crowd though.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS GAME!
I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about! I just bought this game and I LOVE IT! It's very similar to the game show. I played this with my friends and family at home and really enjoyed it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Packaging could better...
I give this three stars because of the packaging isn't as good as the packaging for the previously Entry Pack. Also, the stat cards for these minis are easier to read and the quality is okay. The rulebook is a must have because it has the updates to the Miniatures Handbook.I haven't played the game yet but it looks easy to play. ... Editorial Review

Guesstures turns up the heat on the tired game of charades with a few modernizations. Good, quick pantomiming is still the thing, but now teams need to act out and guess four words in a matter of seconds. The "mimer-timer," designed like a movie scene board, controls everything. The actor draws four word cards and places them from easiest to hardest in the timer unit for each scene. After the arm swings down for "Action," time is rapidly eaten away and so are cards as the performer gestures wildly like a silent movie actor. When the cast guesses the word, the actor grabs the card before the "mimer-timer" does. Whew! It's a lot to think about. Each word is rated based on difficulty, so whatever cards the team correctly guesses and the actor manages to seize are tallied up and recorded. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great group fun
I played this game at a party where I did not really know anyone.there were about ten of us playing on two teams and it was great fun.Everyone was laughing, everyone could do it and there was no fear in not being able to think up ways to describe the object since you can pick the hard or easy word during your turn.I really loved it

1-0 out of 5 stars I am sorry I bought this game
My grandson is 11 and he just isn't interested in this game.I bought both of the River Crossing games, for Christmas, and he hasn't even looked at the second one.

5-0 out of 5 stars River Crossing Is VERY Addicting!
I received this game for Christmas, and I hadn't even asked for it.I absolutely LOVE it.

The game consists of the main puzzle tray, plastic stumps, a little magnetic man, 5 magnetic plastic boards of different sizes, 40 puzzle cards (ranging in difficulty), and a carrying bag to store everything (which comes in handy!).

This game really gets you thinking, and you actually find yourself thinking AHEAD by many moves. The object of the game is to get the little man from one side of the river, to the other. You do so, by moving planks from stump to stump.Sometimes you have to drop a plank off at a convenient location, just to pick it up later on when you need it.

I started playing it and couldn't stop!Once you start getting the hang of it, you find yourself wanting to continue as you figure out the easier puzzles.I must say, that as they become more difficult, you REALLY need to think ahead by looking at the pieces you need towards the "end" of the crossing.Don't drag boards that you don't need (and DON'T drop them in places that hinder your crossing!).

I definitely recommend this game for people who enjoy puzzles, or games in general. The harder puzzles may be too difficult for a younger child to enjoy, and they may get bored with it.ALSO- there are MANY small parts that could be a choking hazard for small children.Make sure you keep the parts in the bag, and keep it out of reach!

5-0 out of 5 stars River Crossing - Another hit from ThinkFun!
ThinkFun succeeds once again, with a simple idea... lay down logs to find a path from start to finish across the river.Place your logs carefully, and you'll get where you need to go, but don't get in your own way, and you can't jump over the water.40 challanges included (plus 40 more in River Crossing 2!), that will keep even adults busy for quite a while.

Highly recommended for those visual / spatial gifted kids, and thier parents ;-)Stores in it's own nylon bag, a plus, since there are more than a few loose pieces.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Party Ever
I saw one of these Murder Mystery games at a bookstore, and thought they looked interesting. This was my first Murder Mystery game I have ever hosted, and it was a blast!!!!Everyone come over dressed up in character, we had 50's music playing, and barbecue food. All of the guests got into the parts more than I thought they would!!!This was an extremely fun game, although I don't have any other mysteries to compare it to.Now we are planning to get together once a month for a Murder Mystery night! This game was just a blast!

IMPORTANT:Even though this game says 6-8 players (there are 2 non-suspect parts), I would highly reccomend there only being 6 players. The other two guests really had no part in any of the action. They just sort of sat there and watched. They aren't in any of the scripted parts, and people don't have replies to their questions. It should only be for 6 players!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Murder Party for Adults
The box says this is for "Adults", especially since the game contains some flirty statements and descriptive accusations in the script. At the end of each script or dialogue each person had to accuse others of being the murderer, based on facts in their script booklet. The party planner's book gives great suggestions for props, music and food. We checked out a 50's CD from the library and played it all night long. We also had a hula hoop, 50's book and a 57 Chevy prop to go with the theme. The end had quite a twist, which made it fun and interesting. Overall, a fun game! Requires about three hours to play game. Note to Party Planner: Read through the first dialogue of the part you play to better understand how the dialogue should go. This will help you better explain to others. Have fun! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Know people with a taste for murder mysteries? Even if they're not fans of Agatha Christie, they'll have a wonderful evening with The Chicago Caper. Like all of the theme parties in the How to Host a Murder series, this boxed set provides everything you need to plan and host a four- to five-hour dinner party. The game, designed for eight players, each of whom takes on a role in the drama, begins with a cassette complete with 1920s jazz and a sultry-voiced barkeep who provides the first set of clues. Hal Coppone is dead, she announces. One of the guests is the murderer. From there, each player must reveal what he or she knows--and conceal the character's dark secrets--all with the guidance of a personalized game book. While the fun is certain to revolve around the rich cast of characters (including Molly M. Awbsterr, Ernie G. Ambler, and Eddie "Socks" R. Gyle), the Host Guide provides a number of suggestions to enrich the evening, including delicious recipes designed to fit with the theme. In addition to the Host Guide, eight player's books, and the tape, the package contains a map of the crime scene, secret clues, guest invitations, and nametags. --Patrick O'Kelley ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars meh
Very high on cheese which can be fun. This game was confusing where it was trying to be smart. I reccomend a Clue themed party instead. And 30 bucks isn't a great deal for a one time use thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars How to Host a Murder: Chicago Caper by Decipher
I love this game. I have also tried How to Host:The Watersdown Affair and it was great as well. Keep these games coming!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutley Fabulous Time
If you havent already played a murder mystery, i would order one right away.My friends and I (who are all in high school) played this one about a year ago and had an amazing time.Since I gave out the invitations ahead of time, everyone was able to dress for the part, making it 10x better.Once each of us got into role, it was hillarious. The game scripts are written very cleverly with many sexual innuendoes, so i wouldnt try the game with children younger than high school. The only downer is that the way that the game is written, it cannot be played more than once. Everyone at the party had a ball.Since then we have had 2 more and i am currently planning a 4th. I would reccomend this game for any small group of friends wishing to have a good time. ...
