Editorial Review

Video game makers have been experimenting with live-action video in games since the early 1980s but EyeToy (a digital camera for PlayStation2) marks the first time it's been done right. The device magically superimposes video-game graphics onto a player's image and translates his or her movements into controlling elements of the game. It is the best improvement of video game controls since the joystick.

The EyeToy camera plugs into your PS2
EyeToy has two components: a digital camera that plugs into one of the USB ports in the front of the PS2 and a disc of party games. In the EyeToy games--there are 12 on the disc, but some of them are little more than variations on the same theme--your image is at the center of the action. The game is totally controlled by moving your body in front of the camera. For example, in one game where the object is to beat back invading hordes of kung-fu fighters who come at you from the four corners of the screen, you must move your hands (or elbows, head, hips, whatever) to connect with the fighters onscreen and slap them away. Unlike most contemporary video games, EyeToy is so intuitive that most users will be able to play in a matter of seconds--even toddlers and senior citizens. Watching someone play EyeToy is fun: onscreen, the games are like the fanciful mix of live action and animation á la Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and off-screen, the player's movements are almost as goofy as those playing Dance Dance Revolution.

EyeToy is best enjoyed by groups
Setting up EyeToy is simple--just plug in the camera and drop in the disc--but fine-tuning it for your game environment takes a little effort. First, you'll need to have adequate, well-balanced lighting. We found that a bare 60-watt light bulb positioned behind the EyeToy camera worked pretty well. Next, you should clear away as many objects as possible between you and the EyeToy camera. Not only can extra objects impede the camera's function, they can present hazard when playing the game. A uniform background helps, too; we found that a light-colored wall worked better than a dark background. Before you drag the couch out on the lawn and pull pictures off the wall, try out the camera in different positions to see if you can find something that works without redecorating. The recommended placement of your EyeToy camera is right on top of your TV, but if your PS2 is situated farther than the 72-inch attached camera cord, you will have to get creative. We tried pointing the camera up at us from a coffee table and it worked fine.

The EyeToy games, while fun, are too simple to keep solo gamers interested for long periods of time. EyeToy is best as a party game played with groups of friends, or as a way to show off your PS2. And as a peripheral for future games EyeToy holds a lot of promise. Let's hope that Tony Hawk and John Madden find a use for this little camera. --Porter B. Hall

Pros:

  • Totally unique approach to video game design
  • Great for groups
  • So intuitive that anyone will be able to play it immediately

3-0 out of 5 stars Decent fun..
This ' game ' is decent fun. It's VERY innovative and capable. ( I've heard of it soon being able to hook up online and you'll be able to chat with people. ) This game is just repetetive. And a workout! There are times when at the end of the day when I played this when my arm was about to fall off. Buy this though if you want a strange, original, yet obvious idea, ' game ' . You most likely will not be too dissapointed in your first few outings with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Priceless Treasure for the PlayStation 2
EyeToy: Play is really fun game for the PlayStation 2. It's one of the top ten reasons why the PlayStation 2 is the BEST gaming system in the whole world (at least in our opinion). It allows you to play a variety of old school arcade-style minigames while being able to see yourself on your very own television set and create your own backgrounds through the USB camera. It does this via a motion-sensor detector, which means that no controllers are required. The minigames are broken down into 3 levels of difficulty: easy, medium, and hard. They allow you to choose from a variety of characters, and they never get old. Some of my personal favorites include "Boxing Chump", in which you box a robot-like opponent for points; "Rocket Rumble", in which you blow up as many rockets as possible turning them into fireworks before they exit the screen, "Soccer Craze", in which you are given three chances to keep a soccer ball in the air with your head or hands; "Wishi Washi", which consists of you cleaning windows; "Beat Freak", in which you catch floating CDs by beating them into a four-sided speaker sytem; "Mirror Time", in which you mimic the actions presented in a series of mirror directions; and "Ghost Eliminator", in which you play a ghostbuster in charge of exterminating ghosts simply by waving your hand over them. Additionally, each game comes with a training guide, so as to eschew confusion on how each game is played. There's also a playroom, which allows you to do things like swim under water with different colors of fish, pop bubbles, play with falling snowflakes, perform crazy actions while the computer mimics them, or see the background environment with no effect. In each of the games, it is possible to obtain a high score (as with most other old school arcade-style games). In doing so, it can take your picture by having you pose for a photo.

EyeToy: Play is also an ideal choice for a fun way to exercise. You can blow off steam in "Boxing Chump" (makes good anger management), or practice some dance moves in "Disco Stars." It offers some very pleasant music at the selection menu and in each of the games (which kinda sounds like the Agent 9 levels in Spyro 3) and combines this with a solid gameplay experience. In short, this is just one product that no self-respecting PlayStation 2 owner should be without (this is PS2 exclusive by the way). Now, if only they'd release EyeToy Play 2...

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting idea, but poor quality for the money.
The Eyetoy is an interesting idea in videogames... a camera that actually maps your movement onto the screen. I love the idea, and I love that the technology now exists. However...

For the amount of money involved, Sony could have invested in a higher quality camera. The image is too fuzzy to be satisfying, the unit detects light and dark spaces poorly, and adjustment is a pain. Though the camera is a fun toy, it need stweaking before I can take it seriously as a lasting accessory. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Mario Party of the 6
I found 6 to be the best of all of them. Once Mario Party moved to the GameCube console, it was pretty poor. 4 was just bad. 5 was better. But 6 has all of the best aspects of the previous games. The capsules are much better than 4 or 5. You can either get them for free or go to a Capsule Shop and buy them. The boards are interactive and changing. the day/night change adds an interesting side. you save up stars to buy secrets and taunts. and the mini-games are of course awesome.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reminds Me Of Mario Party 1
So after having Mario Parties 1, 2, 4 and 6, I'd have to say that 6 is one of the best yet.

But before I go into that. Anyone who has the very first Mario Party knows that it was different from all the others- it wasn't just wandering around the board collecting stars. There were different ways to collect stars on each board (Yoshi's Tropical Island only had two star spaces, and the spaces switched when someone landed on a ? space; Mario's Rainbow Castle was a race to get to the castle when Toad was at it instead of Bowser; Peach's Birthday Cake always had the same star space, and you could plant flowers around the board to get stars, et cetera). Mario Party 6 seemed to be a much more exaggurated version of what the first one was meant to be, and a much better one at that.

Towering Treetop is a perfect example of how Nintendo isn't weakening on their boards. This one was beyond fun. Sure, it was just wandering around the board collecting stars, but it was one of the most creative, and I loved the atmosphere. At the top of the tree is a mini-tree that, when you land on his space, gives you coins during the day and takes away coins at night. Near the bottom is a space that you can land on to try to make the tree sneeze, causing all the players to fall down a level. You can also ride flower-like planes that randomly fly you anywhere on the board, and oh, there's so much that I love about this board!

E. Gadd's Garage seems to be the popular favorite that everyone likes. I can why- it's full of scientific inventions that can turn the game upside down. There are three teleportation inventions around the board. If you land on the space, you have the option to teleport to the next one, which is somewhere else on the board. There's also a missle where you can shoot orbs around the board at a cost. And then there's the gigantic fan that sucks coins from other players. This is the last "searching around the board for stars" board that there is on Mario Party 6.

Faire Square is a perfect example of how Mario Party 6 has much different boards than other Mario Parties. Faire Square is a little town square that has many games around it. There's the coin slot machine which you can earn coins with, and there's the space that takes coins or stars (depending on the time of day) from everyone and everyone randomly chooses a plant. The plant that grows the farthest wins the prize. Oh, and then there's the game where you can choose to give up one of your stars to make it into two stars (or three stars at night!). But you have to follow the hat that contains your star, or else you'll lose it! During the day, stars always cost the same thing- 20 coins (the star is always in the same place, and you can always buy up to five stars at a time, if you have the coins). At night, the star price is either 5, 10, 30 or 40 coins! This can turn into a really good deal or a real rip-off. Yes, Faire Square was definately one of the better boards.

Unlike other boards on Mario Party 6, Snowflake Lake (my personal favorite) is more to the player's advantage at nighttime, and here's why. There are huts around the board where you can pay a chain chomp to ride around the board to steal stars from other players (each player starts with 5 stars, and there isn't a star space). During the day, you pay 20 coins to roll only one dice that decides how many spaces you ride the chain chomp for. At night, you can pay 10 coins to toll one die, 20 coins to roll two, or 30 coins to roll three. What a deal! And also at nighttime you have a better chance of stealing other player's stars, because freezy's block the path that runs to the inside of the board (chain chomps only run alone the outer path of the board, and since it's hard to get out of that path because of the freezies, you have a better shot at stealing stars). Also, the little lake at the center of the board is fun. If someone lands on a happening space near it during the day, there is an ice skating competition, and you get to skate around getting coins. At nighttime there is a snowball fight, where you get to throw snwoballs at your rivals to steal their coins.

Castaway Bay has the same exact layout as Mario's Rainbow Castle from Mario Party 1. You wander around the board hoping to run into Donkey Kong who'll sell you a star for 20 coins, and every time someone passes the star space, Bowser takes Donkey Kong's space, and every time someone passes Bowser's space, he'll steal a star or coins from you, and then Donkey Kong will replace him, and the process goes on. I found Castaway Bay to be the hardest board on Mario Party 6. It's nearly impossible to get stars easily, and it's just as hard to keep them.

Clockwork Castle (the unlockable board) is probably the best Mario Party board I've ever seen. First of all, it's a chasing game. The board is a castle, where Twila and Brighton live. You wander around it trying to run into Donkey Kong, who'll sell you a star for 20 coins during the day. At the end of the turn, Donkey Kong rolls a dice or two and runs around the board. At nighttime, however, the movement of the board gets reversed, and Donkey Kong turns into Bowser, who'll steal a star or coins from you if you bump into him or vice versa. There are warp pipes around the board that you can use to teleport to another side of the board.

The mini-games are quite fun. The snowboarding game is cool. My personal favorite is Lift Leapers, which has the exact same concept as Super Mario Bros., except it only has four levels, and the first person to reach the end wins. Granite Getaway is a game where you're running away from a giant boulder. I found this to be very hard the first time I tried it. Oh, and there's also a game where you mow the lawn, and a golfing game, and there are all sorts of very fun mini-games on Mario Party 6.

Yes, Mario Party 6 has probably the best mini-games I've seen yet, it has the two best Mario Party boards I've ever seen, blah blah blah. Mario Party 4 was my favorite, and it more than likely still is. Here are the reasons why.

What happened to Donkey Kong? I loved him! He was an awesome character. Now instead he only gets a space. Replacing him are Boo, Toad, Toadette and Koopa Kid. Boo and Toadette are fun, but really. I still miss Donkey Kong.

Another thing- orbs. Who came up with the idea of orbs? They're different, and they add a different plot to the game, but I miss items still. They were a lot more managable and easier to use.

The boards are much much smaller, especially Castaway Bay. You can roll less than 30 spaces and bam! You're already at the end of the board. Very sad.

And those are the only reasons I can think of of why I like Mario Party 4 better than 6.

6 has many different things about it- different styled boards, the night and day time factor, the 3-D boards (you know, climbing, hopping, jumping, sliding down things that are much funner to watch than a person simply walking around a flat board), and of course, the mic. The mic is fun, but it doesn't really change the game in a major way.

Also, I heard someone say that it took an hour to play a 10 turn game. ... Huh?! I can play a 20 turn game in an hour, just like all the other Mario Parties I have.

If you're a fan of Mario Party, get this! This is probably the most solid one yet, mark my words.

3-0 out of 5 stars Same game.. different look.
What started as a quirky, interesting use of Mario and all his iconic friends on the N64 has turned into an annual bash, which is now in its sixth year. On the surface, Mario Party 6 seems to offer some of the biggest fundamental changes the series has ever seen. But this is really just a fresh coat of paint on an old building. As always, Mario Party 6 is modeled after a board game, of sorts.Much of the other changes that Mario Party 6 makes to the Mario Party formula are largely superficial.
Whether you've worn out your last copy of Mario Party or are just looking for a light, accessible multiplayer experience, number six is a fine pick. Alternately, if you have yet to be charmed by previous Mario Party games, this one isn't likely to change your opinion of the series. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly fun alone or with friends
If you laugh at karaoke, you really need to give this a try! Not only it is amazingly fun - you can even sing duets with your friends!

We have Karaoke on the XBox and love the graphics and ability to download new songs. On the PS2, There is Karaoke 1 and Karaoke 2 which have that same song selection and venue set. With Karaoke 3, they bring in the brand new ability to sing duets.

First, the normal gameplay. You get a full new set of locations - from a garage with cars outside, to an incredibly fun music video set, to a classic 'rooftop' scene a la the Beatles.

You get a new batch of songs, and like all song sets, they are "reproduced" by professional singers. This means that sometimes they sound almost exactly the same - and sometimes there are differences that drive fans completely insane. It really depends on which particular song you enjoy and how fanatical you are about the accuracy.

There's a good selection though, from Oops .. I Did It Again to Under Pressure, from Ain't No Mountain High Enough to Respect. I have to admit, though, that there weren't any true Lisa Favorites in here. With my XBox karaoke, there are a bunch of songs that I'd gladly sing over and over again because I love them. There are 2 or 3 songs in here that I enjoy a lot, but nothing of the same level. I suppose it's always hard to choose a group of songs that appeal to a wide audience.

I suppose in a way I've been spoiled by the XBox download ability. I can just go online and grab more songs if I want with the XBox. With the PS2, I'm sort of stuck.

Once you get through the main gameplay, you automatically unlock all the original locations, which is great. The graphics are really pretty impressive, with the fans reacting immediately to your good and bad behavior. There is also a HUGE collection of characters to choose from now, from one-legged pirates to opera singers, from Indian girls to Meatloaf-looking guys. That is really something great.

Of course the main reason to get Karaoke 3 is the duets, and they are a TON of fun. You need 2 mics of course, and someone to sing with. Then each of you gets your own progress bar, one on the top, one on the bottom. There are only a handful of duet songs in here - from I Got You Babe to You're the One that I Want, from Shining Star to ABC. I like California Dreamin' myself, and it is actually a challenge to keep those harmonies going. But it's great fun!

Definitely an incredibly fun way to build up your singing skills, your tone and pitch and ability to hold notes for the proper length. An incredibly fun party game too, since just about every human sings along with songs they love, even if they won't admit to it. My only real complaint with this PS2 version is that you can't download new songs. You would think since the PS2 *is* able to go online that they'd give you some way to do it. Maybe we'll have to wait for the next generation Sony console before it catches up in this sense.

Bonus - watch the 'making of' video - they have the Badgers Badgers video running in the background on the laptop!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST VIDEO GAME OF ITS KIND
I think this game is one of the best I've ever played. I love the song selections on it and I love all the different challenges. My friend and I play this for hours! Its really good for parties too (Birthdays, get togethers, etc.) :) I highly recommend this product!!!!!!! :) :) :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Haven't been able to use 2 headsets
I bought the first Karaoke game for my nieces for Christmas. We opened it early before they had to go home "to try it out". My sister and I fell in love with the game and had to go out and buy KR2 and KR3 and two lochitech headsets right away. I have not been able to use KR3 with the 2 headsets. The game locks up at the start. If we keep hitting the reset button, we can sometimes put in all of our information and then it locks up while the song is downloading. I tried the game using just one headset and it works just fine, but then I don't get to use all of the new features, like the duets or the sing offs. I haven't had any luck so far in trouble shooting this problem. I have switched headsets and I know they both work by themselves. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun and education but too expensive
I played this game with friends and had a great time.It is a lot of fun and it helps you to think differently about money and investing. No, it doesn't fully translate into the "real world", but what does?I would say that it would still be a great game to own and help to teach your kids. However - I couldn't believe how expensive it is.I can't believe anyone would really pay $200 for a GAME.Yes, it teaches you, but it's still just a game.I would like to have a copy of this game.I really enjoyed it, but I will never pay $200 for a game.I think I'll learn alot more about financial wisdow from keeping my $200 and investing it, rather than spending it on a game.

5-0 out of 5 stars I want ON2U and MYT4U!!!
The game is great when you are still in the Rat Race. Once you get out and enter the Fast Track, the game is towards the end and starts to get less exciting. Cos when you enter the Fast Track, basically you will have almost unlimited cash to spend, even the TAX and Divorce won't cause you a great damage.

However, the idea of writing financial statement is good. Putting the concept in real life can help you understand your financial situation more clearly.

But still, the only way to make money quickly to invest all your money in the stocks ON2U and MYT4U...

I heard that Cashflow 202 introduce a new rule that for every 25 cards draw you have to re shuffle the deck to make the chance more random. I think this is a good improvement and we can apply it to the 101 game as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you want learn????
This game is a good source of education for people who are just beginning to think about that extra income, that cash flow, that new car they have always dreamed about. People in other reviews complain about DoDads, and not having the option to buy or not. Well that's life, the water heater does not ask you if it can break tomorrow or should it wait!, your car does not ask you if it wants to stall on you in the middle of the trip to the Grand Canyon. So DoDads are expenses that spring-up on you unexpectedly and you have to take care of them when they show up, same way some one mentioned that the you get a child and you do not have the option not to have one! OOOHHhhhhh!!! Where are the abortion activists now??? Just kidding... but if you are married or even living together, a child may happen, and its not just your significant other but your niece/nephew/granddaughter/brother-in-law may need you to take them in tomorrow God forbid, then what happens??? Are you going to abandon your family??? If Yes! Then you have the right to gripe about not having an option to get a child.

One major point everyone made in their review is that the game is purely based on luck! YES!!!! Thank God you acknowledge that its luck, and my friend how much LUCK do you think life is based upon. Every motivational speaker will tell you that life is in your hands and you take the wheel in your hands and turn it any which way you want to but they fail to mention the luck part. Simple example, you buy a home by paying everything you got and the next day it is buried under a land slide which is not covered by insurance. What do you do ????

Life throws a dice for you every day, there are opportunities out there every day, it's up to us to grab them, and this game tries to teach you how to recognize the opportunities and how to plan for one if you see it come your way.
I played this game with a friend a week ago and just purchased my own set.
I got out of the RAT RACE in the first 1/2 hour, every time I played in a group of 5 people, but I attribute that to playing smart, not that I got lucky.
BUT I take the lesson this game provides and hopefully will be able to apply the knowledge to get positive Cash Flow!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A New Version of GTA Type Game
This Game Could be called GTA in North Korea. But that would be an understatement. What this game does is put the Best Aspects Of GTA and adds a ton of features for a war game. You have the ability to call in airstrikes, Supply and AMMO Drops, Pickup for the captured Terrorists, and the variety of destructable objects is unlimited. If you see it, you can destroy it. You go on several misSions working for different factionS such as the russians, chinese, mafia, south korea to build up both your bankroll and status so you can buy more weapons and supplies. The controls get some getting used to as not all of the controls handle the same on all Vehicles that can make things confusing.
As for the negatives except for a Sound glitch on the shotgun weapon ,where you simply do not have any sound what so ever, there really are none .THIS SEEMS TO BE A BUG ONLY ON THE PS2 GAME ONLY. Overall this game is great as far as an action 3rd person shooter. If you loved GTA You won't be dissapointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rent it.....
Best fun I have had in a long time. Great game. However, I'd never pay $50.00 for a game I can't play online. It's worth renting for sure.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best
This game has the best graphics (next to Halo and some other games) that i have ever seen. Me, I like to blow things up and have a stress reliever at the same time. I also like chalenges which make this game better. If you like to blow things up, see different places, and experience really cool gameplay, this game is definately for you. This game let's you choose your style of gameplay, whether it is stealth or full-on destruction, which makes this game one of the best games in the PS2 world. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Most Games ShouldFollow This One As An Example
Itz a me, a Mario! in his second and almost greatest adventure yet. The only reason i gave it 4 stars is because it can get a teensy-weesny bit boring. Don't let this fool you. This game is so superb that I keep trying to find games like this! Bowser kidnaps Princess Toadstool and let the mushroom kingdom fall to ruins. In this classic arcade game, you play as Mario (or Luigi depending on if you play two player), and you must go through 32 unforgettable levels, and you have to rescue the princess! Mario can hit bricks for some coins to boost your score. Plus all your favorite tunes are back, as good as ever. There are also power-ups such as the Mushroom, which makes Mario big and take one hit point. There is also a fire flower, which gives you the ability to shoot fire! But wait: the Star, which gives you invincibility! The classic jump and--what's this? Mario can run by holding the B button. Classic Goombas and Koopa Troopas and other baddies are just waiting to mess Mario up. Best of all, there are countless bonus places, such as places that warp you to other levels, and a vine that takes you to a coin heaven. So get this games for about $15.00, and it'll be totally worth every penny, trust me!

3-0 out of 5 stars I'm confused!
This game is kind of fun, but was it the first Mario video game or was Donkey Kong the first Mario video game because I was just asking.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Classic Game of all time!
I think Super Mario Bros is one of the best games ever. Which Nintendo Has decide to Rerelease this game on the Game Boy Advance. I've Actually played the Super NES Version of this Game and The Super NES Version (...) I mean here are 2 things on my opinion on the Super NES Version.
1. Bad Graphics
2. Worst gameplay
This is just my actual Opinion on the Super NES Version and I think this Version is better than The Super NES Version so if you guys want to play this game buy it for the Game Boy Advance Not the Super NES! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars COOOOOOOOL GOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!
This game is the best. It gives you the feeling of playing soccer outside of stadiums or fields. Instead, you will play in parks on blacktops, and in the alleys. It gives you the authentic feeling of how peolpe in countries like Brazil, France, Spain, England, and many other countries play when they do not have alot of space. GO GET IT TODAY ANDSCORE A GOAL WITH FIFA STREET.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game EAbig has to offer!
This game is GREAT. I believe it is better than NFL Street and NBA Street. If you do not like soccer still try this game out and see how cool it is. I went to Vest Buy with my family and expected to buy some music and DVDs. But after trying this game out on the test systems, I could not get away it was so fun. So instead of buying DVDs and music I bought FIFA Street. It may seem confusing at first but I believe the fun of the game is trying things out, and learning how to win. SO GO BUY IT NOW!

2-0 out of 5 stars Soccer. ON THE STREETS! (...)
NBA Street. NFL Street. What could be next?
Somehting hardcore. Something underground. Something deadly. Isn't it obvious?
SOCCER!
Wait, what the (...) soccer? A game which can go on for hours at a time without a single score, were men in short shorts run around a king a ball while british hooligans call each other (...)Fine, whatever, street 'soccer'.
Fifa Street is a game focused around the underground battle that is soccer (seriously, im not kidding), and for the two people who bought this game, they and I both know that it's, well, crap. The gameplay has been dragged down severly from actual soccer to a dumbed down, too simple back and forth kickfest. It's boring, it's uninteresting, and even the multiplayers isn't so hot. TO be fair, this is EA BIG's first soccer game, and, well, better luck next time.
Another major problem of the game is it's graphics which aren't just muddy and disorientated, but dark and just plain damn ugly to look at. When you get down to it, even the most hardcore EA Fans will eventully have to admit that this is nothing but a desperate attempt to expand the 'Street' series and to slip some more green wads into their back part. It's selfish, it's lazy, and absoloutly unacceptable when it comes to EA. Good try EA, but let's face it, we narrow minded Americans don't give a damn about soccer. Go ahead and let those wacky and strange Europeans make em', just keep on riding with Basketball and Football. Until then, this is nothing but a mess shoved out of EA's ass, which doesn't even attempt to innovate the soccer genre in any way. Too bad. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of detail!
this games is a great game if you like to customize you car and every detail of it. I found no cons in the games.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Travesty of a Title
This game is quite a travesty. Thank goodness I purchased it used from a third party dealer on Amazon. I will be selling it at my local Gamestop tomorrow for hopefully an small loss.
I can't comprehend the hype over this game. Perhaps, the positive evaluations are emanating from folks who haven't played other quality race titles or any good game before for that matter.
There is no improvement in this title over the first one. In fact, I popped in the old one just to ensure I wasn't delusional. It turns out I wasn't. NFS 1's graphics are almost identical and I believe the gameplay may be better in the first game. It certainly had more redeeming qualities, easier functionality, and was actually fun (but nothing serious like PGR2).
Driving all over town to find "the next race" may be one of the most annoying tasks I ever had the displeasure to endure in any video game. I had enough of those kinds of non-sensical chores in "Grand Theft Auto"; It justs takes away from a game that already doesn't have much to offer as a baseline.
Even the cut-scenes are total crap. They are are actually non-animated comic book like graphics. This is completely unacceptable in 2004-2005 on the XBOX when animations from Halo 1 & 2 and Ninja Gaiden are far superior.
From a racing perspective Project Gotham 2 totally steps all over this game in every single aspect (See my review of that).
EA racing games pretty much blow.In the past, I rented Burnout 3, another EA game, and whoa, what another incredibly overrated waste of time and energy. I will never again invest time nor money in an EA title. They have proven recently that they are incapable of putting out a quality game for XBOX.

3-0 out of 5 stars No replayability no fun when u complete boooring
Need for Speed+Underground+2=????
i'm sorry EA this is going to be a bad review for ur game :(
Wow... the visuals, the performance upgrades, the cars.
It sounds great.
It sounded great when I bought it for ( oh i cant say what i bought it for)
It now sounds like a form of torture.
Now ive finished the game ive realized that the only good part of it is the soundtrack...and the idea
At first ithought that this game was soooo coool!!
Then I got to the last two levels...
It gets repetative!!! Really repetative!!! So repeatative its like chinese water torture. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor. In career mode you win about 20 races then you sign a new sponsor.
AND YOU DO THAT FOR ABOUT EVER
Then they seem to make you stop unlocking parts cars and visuals and the races become pointless...
all there is to do now is play free mode.
On the back of the case it says race or roam on 125 miles of open road.... HA
this is so UNtrue
yes the city is huuuge.. but it has about 5 other streetracing cars driving around and 30normal people cars...that come in 5diffrent varieties(hatchback, van, pickup, suv, and taxi)this may sound good.. but if you think about it , on 125 miles of road you encounter 3 cars every 5 minuites
the motorways(or for USA rreaderes highway or freeway)are absolutley emptty!!!(apart from one or two cars)
races are good. but you repeat the same one over and over again

the cars are amazing and the modding(or to the not knows CUSTOMIZING or CHANGING YOUR CARS STYLE AND APPEARANCE)is fantasatic with endlesss... etc...BUT no damage detail...
you see me going down the motaorway at 200 mph suddnley i crash into one of the few cars. it goes into slow motion for a second and then well...you emerge with no damage at all ( no wonder they had to put a saftey warning at the beggining...no wonder i always see people flying past my bedroom window at 200 mph and then killing themselves by crasing into so guys ride...expecting to emerge absolutley fine lol lol )

i reccomend not buying this but buying the first midtown madness.at least in that there is more traffic...which means more fun and crashes!"!!(with damage detail)
(just kifdding [lol] buy the game butdont expect much of it i also reccomend buying the first midtown madness.)

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute looking but hard to disassemble
This is a super cute bed.I loved it once I saw it.We had hoped to put our almost two year old into this bed and wean her off of the crib to make room for our next child.

Problem, we assembled it in our bedroom.Buyer beware!Once we assembled this bed, we had a hard time dissassembling it. The parts snap into place and are almost impossible to take a part. Not exactly a bad thing. But it won't fit through a normal door, no matter how you angle it.

Also, once the mattress is in the bed, the sides are not that high.If your child is still rolling in bed, they can definitely roll off if they have enough momentum.

My child just loves to play in the car bed but has yet to sleep in it.I'm still hopefull that our child will sleep in this bed.

Otherwise very cute and very sturdy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bed
This bed is so cozy and our son loves it.He thought it was great from the moment we got it and I think that helped him want to sleep in it more.

Easy assembly took us about 5 min. No screws or bolts.

If you can get it, I'd recommend it!

4-0 out of 5 stars stick and move!!!
The parry system is a problem but i can get by ok... My main gripe is the cpu throwing haymakers. The cpu will close in on you and swing until you fall which utterly crazy but other than that it's a great game! if you can get past the haymakers and find the right strategy against the parry you'll be able to school anybody and cpu like Winky Wright did to Felix Trinidad!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just play the game.
If you are like me, then you may be tired of people sharing their lists about the pros and cons of every game they play. Rather than giving you a play-by-play analysis of the game, I will ask you one simple question: Are you looking for a fun game with high replay value? If your answer is "yes," then you will definitely enjoy Fight Night Round 2.

The Bottom Line: This game has a great career mode, and the boxing action is fantastic!

3-0 out of 5 stars I agree with naz's review

4-0 out of 5 stars Lil' Quad charger
After many failed attempts to find the right charger for the lil' quad, I finally came across a website to get the right one.Go to 1-800-sunbeam.com. It is the type A for the toddler series.Hope this helps some of you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Powerhouse
My son recently received a Power Wheels jeep that had been in use for over 3 years before he got it.The batteries had not been charged as specified in the instructions, and they died shortly after he started using it.The jeep couldn't run on concrete, much less on grass.

I replaced both existing batteries with these, which incidentally are a different colour from the picture, and the jeep now runs fine on most surfaces.

It requires 18 hours charging time before you can use the batteries, so be prepared for some impatience before the vehicle can actually be used. You have to charge them after each use, and also once a month if the vehicle is not in use, at 16 hours each time.

Tech support from Fisher Price is non-existent in my part of the world, where 800 numbers are not accessible, because their site doesn't have a customer service or tech support e-mail address listed.I needed important information, because I learned that the model I have was recalled for electrical problems, and I wanted to see exactly which parts needed to be fixed to solve the problem.

I'm sure that these batteries will last a long time with proper care, but wish the tech support was better

3-0 out of 5 stars as kiddy as it gets, but there's quite a bit to it
I have played many of Nintendo's franchise games, and I have never seen a game so completely presented for kids as this game.I'm not a kid, but if I remember right, even a kid doesn't need a little twinkly star telling them 'This game's absolutely packed with fun.'For the first half hour the game just presents you with super-colorful image after sickening colorful image as you prepare your 'passport', a prerequisite to playing the game.

But after that, and after you get over the presentation so kiddy that it will make young kids sick, this is a nice game.Don't expect a party like earlier Mario Party games; this game is almost all for one player.Basically, its main mode has you driving around town running simple errands with limited gasoline, and to keep your car gassed up you have to win frequent mini-games.And most of the mini-games are pretty fun, especially if you learn them and try to set new records in the 'free play' mode.

You will meet many characters from past Mario games as you play.I know this is kiddy too but this I don't mind; I'm a Mario fan.I especially liked meeting the big round slime that was a boss in Yoshi's Island; the characters will bring back memories for a Mario fan as you explore town.

This game is enjoyable; not that enjoyable but enough to keep you coming back. That is if the childish presentation doesn't make you vomit.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not a party.Just a long quest.
This game is not exactly a party game. All you do is drive on a mushroom car around shroom city. You do like 50 quests and earn gadgets. The only characters playable is Mario(of course),Luigi,Peach, and Yoshi. But it is still a cool game.It even includes a Party Board for Multiplayers with only four characters playable. It's just an addition if you want to party, with four people. And you use your gameboy in a cool, yet weird way.And yes i almost forgot to tell you that it does have mini-games,and micro-games.Just buy it and you might like it.Just dont expect you can unlock new characters. And you get to put your information, and secrets. So if you and a friendbattle in mini-games and beated you,he might get a chance to view your passport and secret! And yes there is a multi game(4-players)and it is a penguin race, which you dont control it, you just guess which one you think would win the race.....Very surprising!Yet there are a lot of missions and some are hard so it might get you busy if you want to complete the game.Enjoy getting those missing mini-games!

3-0 out of 5 stars okay but not what I expected
I really expected more from Mario Prty Advancce. The console games were so much fun as you went around the board to get the star. In this one, there is NO star but you have to fill quests. The mini-games aren't nearly as good (I LOVED dungeon duos and order up from mario party 4) but still okay. -overall okay ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Arcade Racer I've Played
The thing I love most about Burnout 3 is the variety. There are several different racing modes you can play:

1. Race - obviously, there has to be a mode where you just race, but it's pretty fun racing. You rack up points and earn boost for taking out, tailgating, and smashing into other opponents, drifting, and driving into oncoming traffic.
2. Road Rage - your goal is to take out as many opponent cars as possible before your car is completely totalled. You can also play against a friend, where it's first to get ten takeouts, or last man standing. This is perfect for those days when you come home all stressed out from sitting in gridlock all day.
3. Crash - My personal favorite, there are 100 crash junctions taken from sections of the different courses in the game. You have a specified period of time to cause as much damage as possible. This can also be played with a friend, either co-op or against each other.

If you've played previous Burnout games and were not impressed, I would still recommend this game because I've done the same. Probably the coolest new feature of Burnout 3 is the aftertouch feature, which allows you to control your car in slow motion after you crash, making it easier to take out opponents. This also comes in handy in Crash mode.

My only complaint, really, is that the massive amount of traffic in the game makes racing extremely difficult at times. It wouldn't be so bad if your car crashed every time you even bump a car that is not in the race. If you can get beyond that, though, this game is worth many hours of fun gameplay.

3-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I've been playing this game for more than 3 weeks now, and I have to say it is quite fun!! It is that type of game that you can just pick up and play. The crash mode is cool but the races needs more work. There are a lot of pop ups which can get frustrating, and I think it runs less than 60 frames per second. You can't really feel the cars hugging the road.
The crashes are very cool. I like causing a lot of damage!
If you want a game that's easy to get into, pick it up. But I have to say the NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT 2 is better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dream come true!
Wow this game is dope. The graphics is great, the music is heavy metal and rock, which fits the mood well. I usually listen to hip-hop and pop. The crash engine is awesome, its different everytime! The tracks are cool with good amount of details.

The driving is fast in this game! You get that Wipeout and F-zero feeling. Then the best part is that you get to crash into other cars which gives you more nitro. The crash is more like a offensive weapon, kinda like missles and stuff from Wipeout but you do it with your car! Then you get to see the CARNAGE, then zip right back into the game without losing speed, very arcade like lol! I hope young kids who play this game dont drive like this in real life when they get their license!

Sometimes when I drive on the Freeways in Los Angeles, crazy drivers would cut me off, etc... I wish I had a Nitro equipped Semi Truck so I could ram everyone on the Freeway over! This game makes my dream come true! CREAM people without dying in real life and without going to jail!

Overall this game is a must buy. Its on-sale at Target for $(..). GO BUY IT! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Spider Rip Off
Where do I start? Then entire reason I got the PSP to begin with was for Spiderman 2.I played it on the PS2 and to this day I still pop it in just to swing around the city and kick the crap out of car jacker and bank robbers.I put in Spiderman 2 on PSP and "POW" I was upset 5 minutes into it.I should have listened to Evil Bob he warned us that this was just Spiderman 1 all over again.$49.95 I THINK NOT.My only hope is that I can take this game back and get a refund. Now dont get me wrong, the PSP is out of this world and I really hope BATMAN BEGINS is much better than Spiderman 2

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest
I was only able to play this game for a few minutes before getting bored. I'm not the hugest Spiderman fan, so maybe if I was I would have liked this game more.

Basically it's an adventure game where you play Spiderman and go around beating up the bad guys... supposedly it follows the movie spiderman 2 to a degree, but I didn't play the game long enough to know how closely it does follow the movie.

The graphics are good and it seems playable, but this game just wasn't as much fun as Untold Legends, Wipeout Pure, or Twisted Metal, which are all better games.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but gets boring over time. Not worth $50
Spiderman 2 is a big disapointment. I just bought a PSP and then got Spiderman 2. The game is defintly not worth 50 bucks. i beat the game in less thatn 2 hours on normal. The trainig is bad and the camera just sucks. The bosses are all the same. Break a shield or make him dizzy and then hit him. No big deal. The game had 19 levels but each level lasted like 5 minutes. Gets really boring . Don't buy it unless you really like spiderman. if u don't but still want the gaem rent. Not Worth 50 bucks. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars NBA Street V3
Soar above the rim and leave your mark as NBA Street V3 hits the pavement: 3-on-3, over-the-top, and larger than life. V3 builds on the game-proven, platinum-selling gameplay of the Street series with new tricks and high-flying dunks. All new Trick Stick and interactive Gamebreaker control elevates the game to new heights with unmistakable style and attitude. Featuring today's biggest NBA stars, a collection of the league's all-time greats, and a Hall of Fame cast of past Street characters, V3 is non-stop, fast-paced, action-packed, in-your-face fun. It's as simple as that. NBA Street V3 is packed with highly-detailed authentic street courts, deep player customization options, new Court Creator, and sick online play. Put your rep on the line in the ultimate proving ground: the street courts of NBA Street V3.

The best of the series by far, I would be surprised if there's a better arcade sports game released in 2005. From bouncing the ball off your opponent's noggin to draining a game-winning three, there is just so much opportunity to talk smack, to compete, and best of all, humiliate your friends by dunking on their heads, that I think this is a must-buy for gamers looking for a fun basketball game without having to worry about the differences between a Triangle and a Box formation. Throw in six controllers and go at it in a real three-on-three for even more laughs, more slams, and best of all, more smack.

EA doesn't need an exclusive license to be king of the NBA street court. Midway, you may be second-fiddle for the rest of eternity as NBA Street V3 is the best street game of this generation. The only weak point is the sound, but beyond that, every aspect of V3 crackles with energy and imagination. I am a little bummed that EA still hasn't done anything interesting with jump shots (give us a dozen different trick shots, please), making it all about the dunks. The new GameBreaker is a sick and sweet idea and after putting a few dozen games under my belt, I began coming up with my own custom GameBreaker dunks. The inclusion of the Beastie Boys is inspired, the ability to customize your own court and shoes well-executed, and every GameBreaker dunk a furious thunder of street attitude. It's great, go buy it.
