1-0 out of 5 stars You Can Use A Portable DVD Player!!!
I have a 7" portable DVD player and I have it hooked up in my truck. The key to buying a portable DVD player is that you must buy one that has the option to accept video input. Then you goto Walmart or Radio Shack and buy three female-to-female RCA connectors. BANG... you have a portable DVD player and a Screen. You can now hook up anything that has RCA connectors: Sat., Cable, VCR, Gamecube, PS2, etc...

1-0 out of 5 stars lisen to everyone else
i wish they made stars of 0 cause this i verry poor. even with a car amplilifire it's worse than playing halo on cell phone.

sucks

1-0 out of 5 stars Just plain bad
Take a look at the reviews for this one. All of them.

Those that are good are most involve necessity, and a willingness to accept subpar quality.

This is not a good product -- maybe worth $50, but not more. The resolution is nothing short of horrible. The sound is fine, especially through the headphone jack, but i could not distinguish the walls from the floor when i tested this with Morrowind. I am not just talking about details here, i am talking about major graphical display haze and fuzz.

Really, you are betting off buying a small TV monitor. The sound may not be as good, but at least you can see the game.

Caveat emptor! (let the buyer beware, especially if you can't return it) ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I'd stay away from this one
OK, I played Metal Gear YEARS ago when it first came out on Nintendo. i played a few times with newer games, but I have not been a big game player since my early teen years. Now, at 27, Ithought this system looked great, so I bought it and Metal Gear at the same time, since I thought it would be like the older ones from years ago.Boy was I wrong.I like a game you can just start and go, but this is not that kind of game. This has a card system that you have to use to move and do everything with.Too confusing for an old school gamer like me!

1-0 out of 5 stars NO SIR!I DON'T LIKE IT
Metal Gear is not, i repeat NOT made to be a card game. What were they thinking.

The Don

3-0 out of 5 stars Just doesn't add up for me
I really think that a card-based strategy game just doesn't work out for Metal Gear. The cut scenes are long, and you're mostly just staring at the same image for fifteen minutes.
When it comes to gameplay, I was baffled. I first tried to sneak around everyone, like you should in a Metal Gear game, but that never worked out. Then, I'd try to just kill anyone that was too close to me, but that didn't work because I never got the cards I needed. Then, once I was finished with the missions, I'd always get a D or lower, because they mark you down if you kill someone, are seen, or take to long, which I always did.

Buy this game at your own risk, because it's frustrating and takes some patience. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Thanks id for another great game
Doom 3 is THE scariest game I've played yet. Im waiting to get resident evil 4 for my gamecube. But i dont know if it will compare to walking down a bloodstained corridor with , written in blood on the walls, words like DIE SUFFER BURN. Then all the lightbulbs shatter, leaving you with only a flickering bulb. But then you start to see the images of "things" with chainsaws flashing around you that arent really there. thats when id really amazed me. Thanks id, looking foward for quake4. peace out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Doom 3 Collector's Edition
First off, I love Doom. I have loved the franchise since the first time I played it. The series has aways been great, but not to scary. Not any more. Doom 3 is an enhancement on everything that Id Software has brought us before.

The moment I started the game, I was hooked. I was playing non-stop, and was terrified the entire time. Id Software has taken Doom to an unimaginable level of detail, fun, and terror. The game has a lot more story this time, but not enough to where you will be playing for twelve hours before you fire your weapon. Basically, you are a marine stationed at the Union Aerospace Corporation, (UAC) where teleportation is being extenisivley researched. Something goes wrong, and a gateway to hell is opened. After that, the game consists of shooting, dying, and screaming in terror.

A lot of people complain about not being able to use your flashlight and gun at the same time. This highly trained marine can wield guns of all types, take multiple hits before dying, and can hold off the entire populus of Hell by himself, but he just can't seem to figure out duct-tape. It seems really stupid, but it adds terror to the game. I for one, think that it was a good move on Id Software's part.

Now, if this was all that Doom 3 had to offer, I could stop right now. But, there is online multiplayer, and online cooperation, which is exclusive to the Xbox version. Also, if you can afford to shell out the extra ten dollars to buy the Collector's Edition, do so. The Collector's Edition includes concept art, developer interviews, and an entire episode of ... Building a better system from the ground up sometimes involves digging into even the most mundane components. Take memory cards, for instance. To provide larger storage capacity and faster access rates--PlayStation2 cards transfer data 200 times faster than cards for the original PlayStation--PlayStation2 developers have upgraded the technology for the new memory card. The 8 MB Memory Card uses Flash Memory, the storage technology that's revolutionizing handheld computers, digital cameras, and MP3 players. In contrast, the 128 KB memory cards that were designed for the original PlayStation use memory blocks. While large files can spill over several blocks, you can't store more than one file per block in that design, no matter how small the file. The 8 MB Memory Card allieviates that problem by organizing and storing files much more like a computer hard disk. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Building another Terminator
Using the technology from this 8MB Memory Card (left over from the dead Terminator), you should be able to construct another Terminator robot and send it through time.

If you create a bad Terminator robot, you should definitely soup it up like the A-Team van, with some crazy special powers that will help it destroy mankind. If you create a good Terminator robot, just make it like normal (and P.S. thanks for saving mankind).

4-0 out of 5 stars good, not great
The official 8MB PS2 memory card is good if you have only a couple of games.otherwise you need to buy more than one.It is said that it runs 200 times faster, which isn't entirely accurate (usually about 185 times, but 200 is supposed to be the max).I bought this thing used for $17 dollars. That's expensive. If you have an oldr model of Playstation, it would be better to shell out $100 for Final Fantasy 11/hard drive bundle. The hard drive is 40 gigs, which is 5,120 times larger than this memory card.If you have a slim ps2, you can't use the hard drive. In that case, buy the 2 pack memory cards from Sony. It runs from $32 to $40, so get that package.Overall, a fast, reliable card, but Sony needs to produce larger cards.

After the smash success of the arcade version of Area-51, Midway Entertainment has answered the calls for a console version of the game. With a cool, sci-fi storyline that includes terrifying aliens and mutants, and the sickest arsenal of human and alien weaponry imaginable, Area-51 is a gory, first-person shooter loaded with action.

Area-51, also known as Groom Lake, is a secret military facility about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. The name refers to a large, six-by-ten mile block of land that contains a covert, U.S.-military air base. The government refuses to comment on the nature of this air base, and since the 1950s, Area-51 has been a hotbed of UFO conspiracies and rumors of governmental cover-up. Now, because of a catastrophic viral outbreak, all the secrets are about to be blown wide open and only you -- Ethan Cole, HAZMAT Specialist -- can control the chaos, contain the outbreak, and save planet earth.

The research facility at Area-51 has been shut down because of a viral outbreak. The distress signal received by the U.S. Army has activated the automatic quarantine procedures, locking all scientific and military personnel inside. It will be your mission to dive into five massive levels within the secret confines of the mysterious Area-51 to try to keep the virus contained.

Stacked with an arsenal of human and alien weapons, you will battle scientists and military personnel who have been infected by the outbreak, as well as an ancient colony of aliens buried deep beneath the facility. Along the way, you will also unearth chilling conspiracies, such as the infamous extraterrestrial crash at Roswell and the faked lunar landing.

Once you've mastered the weaponry and completed your mission, you can take your skills to the global level and compete with others HAZMAT Specialists on Xbox Live. With cool guns, fast-paced action, and fun gameplay modes, Area-51 delivers awesome single-player and multi-player action. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Three Stars.
Area 51 is standard FPS that plays decent .I beat the game in about 4 days .Its not too hard of a game. AREA 51 just doesnt come close to matching the quality of HALO2 . The graphics in area 51 are good but not great.Sometimes I noticed there was a haziness type effect to the game. The best part of the game is when you get to the alien ship & see the greys , the look of the game takes a turn for the better but its not until 3/4 into the game. If your a fan of the X-files you (might) like this game more for the investigative factor in this game ,because your supplied with a scanner type device that scans journals, people, experiments, etc. to give you clues & info on secrets in AREA 51.Also David Ducovny voices your player throughout the game. The storyline is pretty standard AREA 51,alien virus etc. & you eventualy can morph into a mutated human with certain abilities. You can transform at any time once your infected. The mutant/virus helps towards the end in the final stages. When you finaly see the GREYS alien (the ones with big eyes) its looks pretty kool and you can shoot/kill them. So people who are into x-files & anything related to that type of show might like this game more or less. But it realyjustplays like a standard FPS that you probably should rent because you will be done before the rental is due.I agree with some of the other reviewers that HALO2 just raised the bar too high for this game too compete. 3 stars for AREA 51 ,Rent First.

3-0 out of 5 stars ehhh....
I agree with the reviewer that said this game is like a mix between Halo and Half-Life, but like that reviewer said it doesn't really come close to either of those.Even if it did, you might as well just play the originals.

The first type of enemy that you fight is very similar to the flood in Halo, i.e. big zombie like creatures that run straight at you and sometimes shoot at you along the way. With them are the little mutated spider things that look almost exactly like the ones in Half-Life.After that you fight against human (or human-like) soldiers that have about average AI, and they are also almost exactly like the soldiers that you encounter later on in Half-Life.

The controls, weapons, voices, etc, are average at best. The graphics are very good, but it seems like any game that is coming out now has outstanding graphics.

What annoys me the most about this game is that it is advertised as being a battle against aliens, but all you really see in the game are parasite infected zombies and human soldiers.Definitely a let down.

Overall:just another generic shooter. Not horrible, but definitely not great either.

2-0 out of 5 stars Original is better!!!
I have played the demo but not the real game and it stinks!
Worse than original(the original OWNS!!)
Guns are definitly ripped off from halo 2
and did I mention the original owns? Nothing can beat the original Area 51 (by the way, you can buy the original for ps1)!! ... Read more

The ProMedia 2.1 THX-Certified, three-piece computer audio system from Klipsch transforms your desktop into a high-performance audio entertainment center. Two 35-watt satellite speakers deliver full-bodied stereo sound, while a floor-thumping 130-watt subwoofer provides low-end slam from your favorite music, games, and movies, reaching down to an impressive 31 Hz.

The satellites' exclusive Klipsch MicroTractrix horn maximizes clarity and high-frequency dispersion from CDs, MP3s, streaming radio programs, and other audio. The high-output, digital-hybrid-amplifier-driven ProMedia 2.1 offers a convenient headphone jack and dual stereo analog inputs, one for a more or less hard-wired connection from your computer's line or headphone output jack, the second to accommodate a portable audio device such as an MP3 or minidisc player/recorder.

Klipsch operates with a philosophy that demands accuracy in every aspect of sound reproduction, which--in the case of the ProMedia 2.1--has resulted in THX Certification. THX is an exclusive set of standards established by the world-renowned film production company, Lucasfilm Ltd., and products undergo rigorous quality and performance tests in order to receive this certification.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing sound quality
I have had many different sets of Computer Speakers for many different computers. I am using these with my laptop, when I am at home. I am a serious audiophile, who like just about every kind of music you can imagine... needless to say I wanted a set of speakers that would sound great, not kill my pocketbook and be reasonable when it comes to space management. All I can say is that having never bought Klipsch before I didnt know what to expect, I had heard good things but I wasn't sure. If you are feeling like me, trust me they are AMAZING.

Right out of the box it took me less that 5 minutes to set them up get them plugged in and ready to go. I started out listening to some Alternatve (Smashing Pumpkins) and thought WOW these sound really good. I threw in some Rap and Hip Hop and I was even more blown away. I threw some Trance and just sad staring at my screen. For two satellite speakers and a sub, I was blown away with how clear the sound was, how loud it could get, and the fact that there was no distortion at higher volumes, while retaining the ability to distinguish different instruments/sounds.

After reading another review, I would agree that this system is not for those with very thin walls (at least if you want to be considerate). While you can play music at lower volumes and the quality is just as good as it will be at the higher volumes, the bass does tend to travel.

Pros: Price (compared to the Bose system that runs $250, or other systems that run between $200-$500 this system is as good for less money. Headphone and Audio input on Left speaker great, dont have to swap out the speakers to throw on headphones and the abilty to use on MP3 players is great. THX Certification... really speaks for itself, these speakers are top quality and are endorsed by one of the most stringent testers out there.

Cons: No remote or controller. (Its not that bad because there are the controls for the Sub and Main speakers on one of the satellites (for me thats the left).Power off on the sub, mentioned before not that bad but its a little bit of a nuisance.

Overall, I would say that this is a great value and I highly recommend this speaker system to anyone who loves music and looks for high quality sound.

Cheers

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost Audiophile
I was able to pack away my stereo system after hooking up this set.The music is accurate. For example, I was able to clearly distinguish the bass drum from the stand up bass without any trouble (The CD I used was Apostolic Polyphony). That is pretty rare for a bass reflex system.Prepare to be surprised.

1-0 out of 5 stars Satellite DOA
Sounds like this system might have been alright, but it's hard to tell a good stereo when you only hear out of one of the channels. The other satellite speaker is completely dead, right out of the box. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good if you like gunning games.
This game is good but it just doesn't cut it following up in Halo's wake. Less intense than Halo but the levels are basicly repetetive after the first. Plus, being able to revive your soldiers makes it a lot less challenging. Still, it is pretty fun.

1-0 out of 5 stars Please wake me up... I fell asleep
This game was cool through the first level, but every level after that was almost identical. The weapons set seamed very weak, I felt like I was shooting a pea shooter the whole game. I also spent way too much time "Retrieving Bacta" (health for the squad) this game really seams two years behind in game play and definitely didn't live up to the hype. The squad control was OK but there is very little strategy when commanding them. The blue highlights around Snipe or Anti-Armor locations scream put a guy here, again eliminating any strategy. Buy the way "XBOX Live" game play is horrible, I will be trading this game in tomorrow.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not interesting to my 11 week old
It seems like most people's babies like this toy, but my 11 week old son isn'tinterested in them. He knocked them over once accidentally. I set them up again, but he ignored them.He has never shown much interest in them. I've shown them to him and put them near him several times. Oh well.

3-0 out of 5 stars A. Long
This is the toy that my son loves to hate.I was so excited about the blocks and so was he for the first couple of months, but now that he is 5 months and wants to put everything in his mouth, they frustrate the heck out of him.Unfortunately, we had to put them away for a while. He loved the quacking duck and rattling, but now he is more interested in chewing on them and since they are too large to get a good hold on with his mouth, they only cause him to have tantrums.

5-0 out of 5 stars We love it!
I have boy/girl twins and they both love this toy. They are six months old now and have been actively enjoying their blocks for about a month now.My son loves it when you stack them up for him and he knocks them down.My daughter gently touches each of the different textures and squeals in delight when she hears the yellow duck "quack"!There really is something for everyone.I highly recommend this product! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Some good, some bad.But fun overall.
I play dance games a lot.I own all the console games and think this is one of the better mixes for PS2.I'll go over the pros and cons catagorically...

Graphics:The graphics are nice for a PS2 DDR game. However, I have been playing DDR Extreme in the arcades for a couple years now and the graphics are not the same.If you go to Japan, this is the same overall graphics as DDR Festival.

Music:The music is top notch despite several cover songs that were used in Karaoke Revolution.

Scoring:The scoring is now back to the way 5th Mix in the arcades handled the points. This would be ok if this game didn't have the Extreme moniker on it.

Gameplay:Gameplay is excellent, but I have a gripe in the song selection menu...Non-stop and challenge modes are available, but are always selectable in the song selection menu.In other words, you can play everything up to your last stage and STILL choose to play a non-stop or challenge course. In the arcade, challenge and non-stop mode are available at the difficulty selection screen for good reason.

For the normal person who is just getting into the DDR craze, this is a good stepping stone. For those who are hardcore DDR players, this is still a good investment. You may be just a little let down however.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never Bored
I got this gift as a Christmas present. I play it just about every single day. There are so many different modes, characters, and songs that you can unlock. You have fun while playing, excercising, and dancing.

When I play I don't even seem to notice the time. The dance pad is excellent, and still is in the condition it was when I opened it. I've had no concerns with this product what so ever. It's very entertaining to have a couple of friends over and challenge eachother.

The songs are great, and there are so many different sorts to choose from. There are slow, fast, extremely fast, and medium song melodies. If you're stuck inside on a rainy day or something, and you still want to excercise, play this.

It even has a Workout mode where you can keep track of your weight, and what it seems you've moved to after each session of DDR.

Overall, this is one of the greatest games.

Editorial Review

It's still hard to get a triple word score, the tiles are still made of wood, there's only one "X" in the whole box, and family feuds are increasing exponentially. But after 50 years, Scrabble has had a face-lift: a swivel base allows the board to turn so players don't have to work upside down, a plastic grid helps keep tiles in line, and a handy bag stores the letters when they're not in use. The premise hasn't changed at all--two to four players battle it out to make high-scoring words from seven little letters--so choose a dictionary before play begins to avoid ugly confrontations. --Lynne Sampson ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Deluxe not like the old Deluxe
I purchased the new deluxe Scrabble game for my sister in January and was terribly disappointed in how it was made.We both love to challenge each other in Scrabble matches when we are together and her game really needed to be replaced.I was embarrassed at how cheaply the new game is.For the wonderful game that it is, I do believe they could have made a much better version of the turntable model for the price I had to pay for it.Hope they will improve it soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic fun for those who love words and word play...
This along with the official scrabble dictionary is the perfect gift for those who love scrabble. It has a TURNTABLE, that is all I need to say.The turntable makes this so much more enjoyable as it is so easy to manuever it to view it straight on in front of you. I wish the game were a bit more substantial but it is a vast improvement over a traditional set because of the turntable as you just store everything in the base.

3-0 out of 5 stars Before you buy this...
Check eBay for a complete older version. This one is poorly made,I remember the old deluxe was deluxe. For the new one the best price is here, that I found. And you can't live without this game ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The King Of Iron Tournament 5
When Hon-Maru is destroyed, Somebody starts The King Of Iron Tournament 5. We all really like games like Tekken 5, But some play GameCube, XBox... Tekken 5 is the latest game or tournament. The characters in Tekken 5 are Nina, Anna, Baek, Xiayou, King, Marduk, Lee, Julia, Ganryu, Christie, Kzuya, Heihachi, Jin, Devil Jin, Mokujin, Wang, Kuma, Panda, Roger Junior, Bruce, Raven, Feng, Asuka, Paul, Law....

The Story Battle is the most exciting game. It tells why these characters enter the Tournament 5. After you defeat, Jinpachi mishima, Heihachi's father, you unlock one of the character's movie. You also earn Fight Money to Cosdtumize your characters.

The Arcade Battle is where the Ranking Matches and Demotion Riskes occurs. All you need to do is fight, fight.... I already became a Tekken Lord by using Nina Williams. Before you will be a Tekken Lord, you have to be promoted to 9th kyu, 8th kyu, 7th kyu, 6th kyu, 5th kyu, 4th kyu, 3rd kyu, 2nd kyu, 1st kyu, 1st dan, 2nd dan, 3rd dan, 4th dan, 5th dan, Shihan, Expert, Master, Virtuoso, Champion, Legend, Sage, Warlord, Conqueror, Deity and Tekken Lord. Very long right?. By the way, You can make your player name.

The Practice Mode is where you do your moves, I always use Nina. They have 3 choices. Defense Training, Vs. CPU, Freestyle.

The game is so perfect. Please buy it.

4-0 out of 5 stars You should buy
This in every way can be better than the other four. The fighting is better and the character custimazaion is good but not as good as virtua fighter. The characters are all better. There are some strange ones but that dosent matter it's still fun. Also the story is much better. But the boss is extremely diffucult and he is very cheap. But that hust takes a little practise to gt by. Also it adds acade history which fetures the first 3 tekkens. It is a very cool feature. And than Devi wiithin which is sorta like the privious Tekken force modes but it is its own story.

So if you are like me and a huge fan of everything Tekken this will be a great piece to your collection it is worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Innovation and a slick combo system have me wanting more!
Now if only this game will be popular enough to produce a sequel. It should be, for how good it is.

This game is the most innovative game I have seen since Katamari Damacy for PS2, innovation including but not limited to the cool bongo controller. As for me I don't have the bongos, but even with a standard controller the controls feel fresh. The game only uses four buttons, and that includes directions. And it works. Its control is spot-on, and is just a joy to play.

To advance in this game you collect crests of multiple colors, and before long you will find that to advance you need to take advantage of one of this game's biggest assets - its beat system. The 'beats' you collect work as both your score and your life meter. The cool thing about them is the combo system. Combos multiply the beats you pick up by how many tricks you have done, and a combo doesn't end until DK lands his feet firmly on the ground. Many of the stages are designed so DK doesn't have to land for a long time, making for some thrilling combos. Just pick up a banana and you earn 1 beat, but pick it up along with other bananas as part of a combo, and you may earn much more.

Using combos to earn the most beats you can in each stage, and the crests you earn for doing so, are what give this game tons of replay value. And using the combo system is just so fun that it keeps you wanting to come back for more. Some of the stages (maybe all of them, I don't know) let an expert earn many, many more beats than you need for the best crest, while some stages are challenging enough that I, having played the game A LOT, still have not come close to the best crests.

I want to but I can't complain about the length; there are 32 platforming levels and 18 bosses. Actually those 18 bosses are 5 different bosses that repeat a lot, but that's alright; each time you meet one it has new moves to throw at you. The bosses are worth mentioning and were quite fun to learn, though only 1 of the 18 seemed difficult even at first. As for the length I want more, but this game's length is average or better; there is a lot to this game. But it is so good that I have played it tons, and now I want more. I beg Nintendo for a sequel. :)

The graphics are beautiful, and seamless as they switch modes and distances. The challenge isn't that great until you earn your way into the tougher stages, but the challenge of earning every crest has some very tough spots, and is still out of my reach (a good thing). I would say, with or without the bongos (your choice), buy this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game Ever!!!
This game is totally awesome. The bongos are the best thing to come along in a while. Buy this game and you will a happy person. 2-D action platformer you play with bongos, what could be better; answer: nothing.

5-0 out of 5 stars YOU DON'T NEED THE BONGOS TO PLAY BUT THEY MAKE THE GAME BET
THE KID'S REVIEW FROM MARCH 28 ENTITELD THEY,VE DONE IT AGAIN IS WRONG. YOU DON'T NEED BONGO'S TO PLAY, BUT IF YOU PLAY WITHOUT THE BONGOS THEY CHANGE THIS GAME TO 3 STARS. BUY IT WITH THE BONGOS, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM AND PICK UP DONKEY KONGA TOO. YOU'LL SAVE ABOUT 20 DOLLARS IF YOU BUY THE BONGOS AND DONKEY KONG JUNGLE BEAT SEPERATE IT WILL COME TO 80 DOLLARS. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition to the crib
I've had this mirror hanging in my son's crib since he was born.During his second month he started looking at his reflection and touching some of the toys which are attached to the sides of the mirror. The frame has fabric with many bright attractive colors, a spinnng rattle, a teething ring, a sqeaky sun toy, and soft creatures or twists to pull on.There is also a sleeve for a picture on the side opposite the mirror. My son is eight months old now and he enjoys sitting up in his crib and playing with all of the things around the mirror. He also enjoys looking at himself in the mirror or my reflection when I am behind him.

I have just two minor complaints. The ties that come with the mirror are not long enough to tie around the four-inch rail my crib has.I used some twine which I really hope is safe for my baby. Also, there are velcro closures to put the two sides together instead of letting them hang at an angel.I like the angel so that my baby can see his reflection while lying down.If he bats at the mirror, however, the velcro easily closes and the mirror is no longer at an angel.I stuck a washcloth over the velcro to prevent this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little toy
I bought this mirror for my 6-week old daughter 2 days ago and she loves it. I hung it in her crib and she stares at the colors and herself for and coos. Its definitely a hit!

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!
When I went to return a Baby Einstein mirror with a defective music box, I spotted the "Me in the Mirror."I bought it because the mirror surface was larger. My son loved it.At first, he just liked to look at it.Then, he discovered the hanging rattle toy and started batting at it.When he started teething, he enjoyed chewing on the ring.He has gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this toy, and I would recommend it to other parents. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Most Replayable Games of Recent Years
Mario Kart Double Dash!! is one of the most phenomenal video games ever made; a game that makes me fondly remember what video games used to be.
Firstly, for Mario Kart veterans (who I am sure have already picked this game up), this is the most unique game in the series. Two racers now occupy each car.The racer in front steers while the character in back handles weapons and attacks (you can punch nearby players now and steal their weapons). If you play single-player, you control both characters, stearing and firing weapons, while a single tap of the 'Z' button will switch character positions. This comes in handy, since each character can carry a weapon, while only the character in back can use them. So, if the driver has a banana or a shell you want to fire, and the character in back has nothing, tap 'Z' and switch positions in an instant, without slowing down your car at all.
Because of the two-character mechanic, there are now two types of weapon boxes that you drive through to recieve your weapon: single boxes give only the character in the back of the car a weapon - so if the charcater in back is already carrying one, switch the charcater's positions when you drive through a single weapon box so that both your racers will now carry a weapon.Double weapon boxes give each racer on the kart a weapon, (if one charcater is already carrying one, the other racer will recieve a weapon regardless). In single-player, if both characters have a weapon, and the one in back fires theirs, the characters automatically switch positions on the car, so the character with the remaining weapon is instantly ready to fire.
In multi-player, you have a few options. Each player can control their own car and both characters on it, or you can each pick one character to race on the same car.If you choose the latter, both players will have to push 'Z' simultaneosly to switch positions on the car.So, if one player prefers driving, and the other prefers handling the weapons, you can stay that way the entire race, since the characters will not automatically switch positions (instead, the player in front can tap the fire button to toss his weapon to the player in back when they are empty-handed).Multiplayer is incredibly addicting; especially (surprise) in battle mode, which makes a welcome return. For players used to ballon battle from Mario Kart 64, the levels in Double Dash will seem small at first (though you can unlock a few more, one of which is bigger), but give balloon battle a chance. It is incredibly addictive, and nothing is more satisfying than hitting your opponent with an expertly timed shot of a green shell from across a level.(There are also two new battle modes this time around, but I found balloon battle to be the most enjoyable.)
One thing that surprised me was the game's difficulty. The learning curve is perfect, with three difficulty levels as usual, 50cc, 100 cc and 150cc racing modes. But for a Nintendo game, 150cc proved fairly difficult, which was a welcome challenge.Computer opponents are smart on 150cc mode, but make similar mistakes to the ones you'll find yourself making. They win races not by cheating (like in other games), but by firing weapons at strategic moments in the race, or using power slides around turns (do it correctly and you'll get a mini speedy boost at the end of the power slide). So, regardless of how far ahead you may be on 150cc mode, one simple error can prove devestating. On the flip side, if you are behind, one great, well timed shot can be all you need to take the lead. The gameplay is expertly balanced, and there is even strategy involved now in selecting your team and your car, since different players and cars have varying weights and pros and cons.Plus, each character has a unique special weapon.
In addition, the course design, as usual in the Mario Kart series, is flawless.Every course is unique, and you'll develop strategies for approaching each one. Moreover, the graphics are sharp, bright and colorful. Each course and each character has their own personality.
The replay value is infinite. There are plenty of unlockables in single-player, inlcuding new characters, courses (racing and battle), cars, and game modes.Once everything is unlocked, multiplayer alone will keep you coming back for more, not to mention besting your best course times in time trial mode.
This game is a great reminder of what used to make games great - gameplay and replayability, not graphics, physics or online modes. This is a brilliantly crafted game, a game that will appeal to all ages, both genders, gamers and non-gamers alike.
A true classic!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great bed
I have 20 month old twin boys who were really attatched to baby things (cribs, pacifires, diapers, bottles ect.) so we had advise to take them to Toys R Us to pick out a bed. At first my sons wanted the yellow car, but their rooms blue and red, and I didnt really like it. Well than my son saw this one, what a change! They both declared it was theirs (I think because of the match box track, they love it). So finnally we shelled out the money for two of these stock car beds, and I think it was worth it! We still have it with a todder matress, and put navy blue crib bumpers along the edges where theres plastic. They also have Nascar bedding. The cars are adorable and fit perfectly in their room, we also didnt need a bed rail because in the toddler way, its lower and those sides are a rail. We put on all the stickers and even personalized those stickers that you can take off and put anywhere, with their names. Our boys have been sleeping soundly and I can imagine these beds atleast lasting a good 5-7 years, atleast. They are very durable and much nicer than the other, cheaper car beds. My sons are forever jumping and rolling down these. I love them, and my boys love them, what more could a mother ask for?

4-0 out of 5 stars tired of shipping costs?
I researched place to get this bed for over 2 days and called at least 35 places.Nobody stocked this bed, and most places could not get it.They almost force you to buy it online and pay outlandish shipping.I finally found a store 2 hours away that could order it for me at a price of 229 for the stock car and 249 for the lifestyle twin.If you live close to pittsburgh: Toy Heaven 814 371 2244.I even called the factory but they would not match their retailers price!!Good Luck

5-0 out of 5 stars Pleased with my purchase
I purchased this bed in a hurry after my husband insist that our 2 year old son be put into his own bed, before the month was up.He had been sleeping with us since he out grew his bassinet. I purchased the bed from Sears (a big mistake), and months later I discovered I could have purchased it directly from the Step 2 website for $100.00 less. However, my son enjoys his bed.He does not use many words in expressing that fact, but he enjoys lying at the foot of his bed and rolling his match boxcars around the track.I was worried about the transition to his own bed, so I camped out on the floor next to his bed for 2 weeks, after the 2 weeks, I started sitting in a rocker next to him until he went to sleep, it worked! He is out of our bed.Since I spent so much on the bed it was nice to be able to use his toddler mattress for a while.I put racecar pillows on the side of my son's bed so he would not fall in the empty space between the toddler mattress and the High center side rails (the space goes away with a twin mattress).I put the bed together myself in less than an hour while my husband was at work.I highly recommend the bed. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars You will be not be influential
In virtually every game I have ever played, from the Atari 2600 onward, the player was at the center of attention. In this game, that is by no means the case. You will be one of approximately 200 players on the battlefield (which is a chaotic mess) with no special abilities (beyond being a pilot or sharpshooter, etc...). Depending slightly upon the settings, you can very well win a specific battle without ever leaving the safety of your bases. That should tell you just how important you (the player) is. I bought the game based upon it's rating here at Amazon and with the "Star Wars" name, but it is not to be compared with other games of the the same genre. RENT IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Reveiw on Trampline
I think this toy is a fun one but if your are going to spend that much on it you are waisting your money. You could make on for even less money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for my family
We received this trampoline as a gift.Since we have never owned one before, this particular kind is perfect for my family. There is plenty of bounce for first timers. It was relatively easy for us to set up, though we did need a rubber mallet to bang together some of the frame pieces. We are planning to purchase enclosure for the added safety and also the cover to add to the longevity of the surface. My kids love it and will get a great deal of use out of it.I cannot comment on the durability over time as we just got the trampoline a few days ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warning!
Do not buy this trampoline. I got it for my 12th birthday. I thought that the bands would go just as high as the springs, but they did not come close. It was really fun at first, but then it started breaking down, and I only weigh 100 lbs. The welded metal that holds the legs to the trampoline breaks, and you have to buy replacements at Variflex.com for ridiculous prices. Also the parts take about two months to come. Do not buy this product. I recommend a Jumpking. ... Read more
