Great Fun!
My daughter received this as a Christmas present and has been singing ever since.She absolutely loves this karaoke machine.She says it is so much "prettier" than other karaoke machines that she has seen.Her only problem so far, is that she is in 1st grade and she can't read fast enough to keep up with the words on the screen, so I'm hoping this will improve her reading skills.The reading thing doesn't bother her though, she just improvises.Two microphones make it alot of fun to share with friends.

I recieved ths as a present the other day and you kow whatgot two karaoke machine but their not the same I have to tell you this is a good thingbut I think it should come with the cds next time think about it

It was the only toy the kids played with at Christmas
This was a great buy.I have a 3yr old and a 5 1/2 yr old.When this gift was opened they went crazy for it. It took only about 3 minutes to set it up and they kids were playing with it.My husband and i had to peel them away to finish openeing the rest of the gifts under the tree.

We plugged it into the TV, that took 5 seconds to do all the cables are right with it and color coded so they just pop right in like the camcorder.Although the screen on the machine is black and white the music on the tv is bright colors with pictures (we bought the princess songs to go with it).

My husband has since taken over the machine and tells the kids it's his "turn".I think he liked it almost to much.

This machine is not ment to be a professional type of machine but if you have kids who just want to have fun this is it.Two microphones with very long cords.I would buy it again, no regrets at all.

Not the greatest quality
I bought this for my six year old daughter for Christmas.We played with it for about 3 hours total before the microphone broke.At first, I was sure it must be the batteries but changed those and it still didn't work.We unscrewed the mic cover and found that two little wires were not saudered where they were supposed to be.I am VERY disappointed and will be exchanging this in hopes that it was just a rare problem that won't happen again.

Lot of fun!!!

she loves to sing
I got this toy for my 3 1/2 year old daughter and she loves it!Especially the 'echo' effect!!I like the fact that she can sing along to the music (on cassette tape) or a cappella.

Fun for a while...
This toy was fun for while.My aunt got it for me when I was like 7 or so.I loved it when I got it but it broke after a while.I was so sad when it broke so my mom returned it and got another one to replace it.I played with it for about a year and almost all the tapes are lost now.Just to warn you the sound isn't very good and the headset does not fit me at all.But maybe it's because I am to big for because I'm 10 now.Overall it's still an ok toy.

Great idea, bad manufacturing!
My 7 and 8 year old loved this toy a lot last year, but it only lasted a couple months.Both microphones went out immediately and the headset didn't fit.We go them the Bratz karaoke machine to replace.More expensive, but it lasts.:) ... Read more

I paid $80 for this and have not been able to find cartridges.I have looked everywhere and I refuse to have to pay a high price over e-bay.The next time I buy any product from this manufacturer, I'll be sure to check and see if the accessories are available.My next step is to contact the manufacturer and do some complaining.

Where to find cartridges for e-kara
I bought e-kara for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it.I haven't been able to find cartridges in the stores, either on-line or in person.Whenever I can't find anything I ALWAYS try Ebay and sure enough there are quite a few auctions featuring NEW CARTRIDGES for e-kara.As an added bonus they are offered at a great price.

My niece adores this.
I am a musical theater performer and who has a niece who is really into what I do. I realized this when she would try to join me on my vocal warm ups I do regularly with these great singing lesson CDs called "Voice Lessons To Go" by Vaccarino. So, for her 10th birthday Ibought her a Karaoke machine with some CDs including Disneys- Princess, Lion King and Cheetah girls.She loves them!!!She is so proud to sing for everyone now when they come over and tells everyone that she is going to be a singer just like her cool aunt!

Buy this! Not the cheetah girls soundtrack!
This is a great product. It's really fun and gives you a lot of enegery and makes you want to dance and sing. My only complaint was that they have all the same songs as the cheetah girls soundtrack plus the karoke.The cheetah girls soundtrack though only had the vocal version of all of the songs. 11 year old oldies LOVER
Do you want a good CD? Then get it. sure I listen to NSYNC & brittney spears but my Mom & Dad (now thats a differnt story) so I've grown up with theese songs in my life, so for my birthday my sister's boyfriend got me this CD. I LOVE IT.....

Party Tyme uses fake music
This brand uses synthesizers and drum machines instead of real guitars, horns, etc.Pretty bad stuff.I am a singer, not affiliated with any Karaoke vendor.I'm always looking for unique songs, and I demand good quality.

LASTED ABOUT TEN MINUTES!
AFTER WE GOT IT ALL SET UP WE REALIZED ONE OF THE TWO MICROPHONES DID NOT WORK. SO AFTER USING THE OTHER MICROPHONE FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES IT ALSO STOPPED WORKING. THIS WAS A GIFT THAT WAS VERY WANTED. WE ARE SO SAD THAT WE NOW HAVE TO RETURN IT. WHAT A LET DOWN. MY DAUGHTER IS VERY DISAPOINTED. ALSO THE PICTURE IS REALLY NOT THAT GREAT. ITS VERY LIGHT AND CLOUDY LOOKING. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. FOR THAT PRICE WE EXPECTED BETTER QUALITY.

ALOT OF FUN AT A GREAT PRICE
I bought this for my husband and 7 year old son for Christmas.After I had placed the order I read a very poor rating for this product.I was scared after that but luckily the Karaoke worked like a dream.We all had hours of fun on Christmas and everyday after without any problems at all.The quality of sound took abit of adjusting but once set it worked like a charm.The video camera worked well too.Kids and adults love watching themselves sing.I highly recommend this machine as a gift for either an adult or child.They should include earphones for thoughs of us that can't carry a tune though. (hee hee)Happy Singing.

very disappointed
I bought this for my daughters for Xmas because they love to sing and dance in front of a mirror; and this is one of the few karaoke machines with a video camera.It also supposedly has more wattage than some of the others.THANK GOD I tried it before Xmas after my daughters were in bed.What a dissapointment.The camera/video is unrecognizable -- fuzzy, dark and you can barely tell what you are looking at.Also you can BARELY hear anything through the microphone.Basically this is a not so cheap, poor quality CD player.I am returning it ASAP. ... Battery problem
I bought this for my son at Christmas.Although he loves the toy, it has a battery problem.At first I thought it was the batteries I was using so kept changing them out, but then realized that the batteries move just slightly off the connectors while in the toy which causes the toy not to work.Very annoying to have to keep making sure the battery is pushed in to get the toy to work.

Let Down
My problem/compalaint with this microphone is the static.I guess the speaker is too close to the microphone and causes feedback and static.My kids can't hear themselves sing over the noise and it is VERY annoying to anyone around them.

I didn't look up this microphone on Amazon.com before buying it.I REALLY wish I had.I love Amazon.com reviews--real people tell it how it is.

Do Not Waste Your Money
I would give this product negative stars if I could.This is NOT a microphone - it is a loud music maker with lights.My son wanted a microphone and has had more enjoyment pretending our turkey baster is a microphone than he has from this toy.Also, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the mesh started coming off of our microphone as well, and it is only a week old (and hardly used because it doesn't amplify my son's voice as he had hoped).I am very disappointed in Little Tikes! ... There is no sense picking up Duets or any of the Disney Karaoke series unless you, or whoever you are buying it for, has a karaoke machine, and Disney is forthright about letting potential buyers know it (the cover features a microphone prominently, and a TV screen below it alerts potential buddy-belters to its on-screen lyrics feature). The main consideration here, then, is not the music--which, for karaoke purposes, has to be kept fairly tepid--but the track selection. The producers picked wisely, going deep for half the songs and splitting the difference with a dose plucked from partner Pixar movies; thus, "Winnie the Pooh" butts up against "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story, etc. Vocal versions arrive on the heels of the instrumentals for anyone requiring a primer on inflection and phrasing, but the big fun, of course, is the side-by-side factor. Something about passing a mike back and forth, even when it's only in someone's basement, says "friends for life" as much as swapping diaries, only in a much cooler, if occasionally off-key, way. --Tammy La Gorce ... Interesting Concept... I Like it For a Different Reason
This CD, Disney Pixar Duets contains both instrumental and vocal versions of some favorite Disney and Pixar tunes. The idea is that you can get together with some friends or something and do karaoke. This doesn't really interest me, although what does interest me is the instrumental versions of the songs. I've always been a fan of enjoying just the music, without having the vocal tracks in it, although the vocal tracks are great too. Unfortunately, not all of the "instrumental" tracks are completely free of vocals, but it's still pretty neat.

Song selection includes two songs from The Lion King, two major songs from Disney Pixar movies (Toy Story and Monsters Inc.) and the hit from Hercules "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" among others.

The provided leaflet includes the lyrics for all the songs, for purposes of the sing-along.

One other important thing that I should note is that many of the vocal tracks don't have the original artists, but overall I'd say they're still pretty good. ... Read more

You Must Get A machine First
This microphone is great because you cant find many seperate microphones any where. The only way for the microphone to work is if you get the machine. The microphone is for just in case you lose,break,or want two microphones you must buy another one.
