2-0 out of 5 stars Not too much milage out of this one
My son liked this toy for a week or two, but now he is bored with it.It was good to show him a 3D model of the solar system, but I agree that it's wrong to have the planets all travelling at the same rate of speed.Since he wanted the toy to "do" something, he promptly took it apart. We are now missing Uranus! It does make a good decoration for his room, though, even though we are missing a planet. Also, the planetarium feature that is supposed to show the constellations on the ceiling was not too effective.

4-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this product.
Now, granted, my son is in Pre-Kindergarten, but we LOVE this model. It did exactly what we wanted it to. It gave a basic idea about planets rotation around the sun. Now, maybe for a high school student or college student it would be important to know the relative rotation speeds. It would also be great if each planet rotated on its own axis to show how day and night occur, but what the heck do you want for $40. We have books and videos to explain these things.Maybe the professor parents need to take their 9-year-old to one of their college-level classes to get a higher order learning of the solar system.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Accurate...
I was just looking at this in hopes of getting a realistic view of current planet alignments...I realize they can't be perfect, but the whole idea I had was to see when things like planetary alignments occured, or what planets are relaively (relatively being the key work) close to earth...

I essentially wanted to be able to power it up, set the current alignment, then let it sit running indeffinately...This does not do what I'm looking for... ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars It Says it's a CARTRIDGE, people!
It just amazes me when I see reviews like the one saying this item is "misleading" and "not what it seems".
It says that it's a cartridge for learn through music. Buying this without the actual system is like buying a DVD or Video Tape and saying "It looked like a great movie but it's misleading because it doesn't work without the DVD/VCR player"
I seriously think people do too much buying without thinking, and especially if it's folr a CHILD, you should research and actually KNOW what your giving them to play with!

As for the toy itself, my baby loves this but mostly because he has a few cartridges & can alternate which ones he plays with, so he doesn't get board.
I like this toy but it needs more cartridges.

3-0 out of 5 stars Oh the Monontony!
This is a cute cartridge in theme and idea, but ohhhhhhhh is it monontonous! The same song is played over and over again with each new screen.Fifteen screens to identify colors is just too much of a good thing. My daughter gets bored with it halfway through. It would take a strong Blues fan to tolerate the entire cartridge.
Even with my criticism, this cartridge does have merit in your collection. It's just not my favorite.Learn Through Music is an excellent toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great addition to the Learning Through Musictoy!!!
This "book" is a great addition to the Learning through Music toy from Fisher Price. My 2 year old loved this book, it's his favorite. He has learned several colors and songs from it.You do need to own the actual Learning through Music unit to operate any of these books, but it's definately worth the $$$ to purchase. We own three "books" and we have a great time singing along! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Stimulating Blocks
My 9 month old loves these blocks. We bought them for her when she was 5 months old. All she did then was put them in her mouth. I had to supervise her when she played with them as she could hurt herself. Now she looks intently at the pictures on the blocks, enjoys knocking them down when we stack them up and enjoys the wooden sound they make when she knocks two blocks. These blocks are her all time favorite. I anticipate further use of these blocks for educational purpose and I highly recommend them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Blocks for Building and Learning
My daughter is almost 2. She has had these blocks for several months, and enjoys playing with them, stacking them, throwing them, and trying to name the pictures. So far the dog isn't attracted to them.

These blocks have great pictures and clear letters. I agree, however, with another reviewer's comments regarding M/W and some of the word choices, but in general they are great. So, we'll just have to explain somehow what Ink is. I'll bet we can do it.

I particularly like that the block holding tray is durable, and that the dimensions of the box allow for extra room (2 blocks worth) to make re-packing easy.

The blocks are a nice size, and the size and shape remain consistent between the blocks for easy stacking.I have not found any rough edges or splinters. So far the pictures have held up well.

These are high quality blocks that should be a satisfying toy for several years to come.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, Safe Block Set
We bought these toys when our daughter was 10months old, for her first christmas. She just loves them. She also recieved some of the old-fashioned "carved" blocks with the letters cut into them.Unlike these, she quickly chewed the paint off of some of the old-fashoined blocks. She has chomped on these pretty hard and they seem to put up with it with little damage. She bangs them together, chews on them and occationally stacks them. Though they are recommended for older children, i think we made a nice choice as she will be able to play with these for years in many different ways as her skills develop. Also, they are bigger than the standard blocks, so i dont worry about anything and she should be able to manipulate them a little earlier. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My 3yr old love this puzzle
My 3 year old received this puzzle as a gift for his 3rd yr birthday. I wasn't so sure if he was ready for the puzzle at the age of 3, but four months after his birthday together with his cousins he started putting the pieces together. He is now 3.5 yrs. and knows how to complete it all by himself within less than 10min. I give ten stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best learning puzzle
I bought this puzzle for my 4 year old twin girls. They absolutely LOVE it. The pieces are cut along state lines, which makes this puzzle a great learning tool for geography. They currently know at least a dozen state names and where they are located within the continental US. After half a dozen times putting this puzzle together using the box as a guide, my daughters were able to put it together from memory. We have great conversations about each of the states and learn a little about each one. For example, the Washington state piece has a picture of an apple on it, so my kids now know that Washington is known for its apples. They also understand when I travel where I am going and how far I am going relative to where we live. I highly recommend this puzzle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Puzzle and Learning Tool!
I have to disagree with the review that says that this puzzle is not good for little kids.I have a daughter who just turned 4 a couple ofweeks ago and is also autistic. She loves this puzzle and has learned how to use the box cover to properly place the states.I am glad that they are in the individual shapes of the states. It's not a jigsaw puzzle. It teaches kids where the states are located and is terrific for little ones and older ones.Even I have a good time with this. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The toa didn't give me a lot
This thing is awesome! I got it a while ago and the weapons used to make the vehicle came in quite handy! I love the sword that looks like cloud's blade from FF7! The toa didn't give me much to work with, however. The best thing I got from the toa is the little black ball thingy thats supposed to go on his back. You can make some really awesome rotating turrets with those. That's all!

4-0 out of 5 stars toa of light!
takanuva is the coolest! buy this toy for yourself or for your kids

5-0 out of 5 stars Takanuva is really neat!
Takanuva is one of the coolest toa nuva. He comes with a lot of cool accessories like his 2 masks (1 is his standard and it also comes with a glitter gold mask in the same shape. He also comes with a grey kanohi hau mask to fit on his vehicle. Takanuva is easy to build like all the other toa nuvas. His vehicle, however is a different story. It is fairly complex and may take a little while but, it is critical that you read the instructions carefully. He also comes with a staff which can attach to his back when riding. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars great toy, but...........
i got this as a gift, and when i did i ripped it open and lovedit right away. unfortunatly, my little sister got to it, swollowed 12 beadS...... and............HOSPITAL RUN!!!!!!!

(NOT A PRETTY SIGHT, BELIVE ME)

5-0 out of 5 stars Love to bead!!!
My daughter LOVES to bead with this Bead Box!Granted, she's almost 5, and good with very small motor skills.Because of all of the tiny beads, you definitely don't want to give it to a child under about 4, some of the beads are practically microscopic! We've accidentally knocked the whole thing over twice now, and it was a pain to get cleaned up, but my daughter took the opportunity to organize it just the way she wanted, so she's even happier now with it.Definitely a good investment!

4-0 out of 5 stars So Fun!
My daughter (four year old) got this set of beads for Christmas last year, and we are STILL making bracelets and necklaces. All of her little friends enjoy coming over and making jewelry with their Strawberry Shortcake beads. The beads are large enough for little fingers to handle without too much trouble and the colors are bright and fun.One word of caution, however... the box doesn't stay latched very well. We've picked up hundreds of beads out of the floor more than once. ... This was a great product! I got it for my kids before we went on vacation, and it kept them entertained the whole car ride. The special Surprizeink maker makes hidden images appear, and they really got a kick out of that! My oldest liked to play the games while the yonger one just liked to color and watch things appear. my three year old who is still learning these things likes this book, but my 5 year old who already knows most of the information doesn't really like it (not challenging enough).I'd say it's great for learning/teaching but not the best for review/practice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great book!

2-0 out of 5 stars Worm Farm
This worm farm was interesting put together, but be warned it is extremely flimsy. It is made from styroam and plastic and is not very portable. The mail-in certificate for worms as advertised is misleading - you have to pay additional money to get a kit.It is cheaper to go to a bait store and buy nightcrawlers to put in the container. This lasted about a month at my house and I ended up tossing it in the garbage.Very cheaply made and not worth what you pay for it.You could make your own.

3-0 out of 5 stars WormVue Wonders
I purchased this for my 5yr. old grandson for Christmas last year and he was thrilled with it.By the end of the day he could label all parts of a worm and was studying the included booklet with great interest.

The worms were ordered and arrived alive and well. After 5 months, however, none of the worms had yet become visible.Thinking they were dead, his mother convinced him to empty the container. There were the worms, in perfect health! He released them to the backyard garden and goes to visit them daily.

I was very disappointed with this purchase.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worms Extra???
I purchased this item for my 5-year old nephew. I recently learned that his mother had to send [additional money] to the company in order to receive the worms and the dirt!!Very disappointing. Nothing like getting a birthday present and then being forced to pay for it! What could my sister-in-law say to her teary-eyed 5-year old who wanted his worms? I intend to write to the manufacuturer and share my story with them. Moral: Send a check when you send this gift to anyone! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not up to Disney standards
We received this toy as a gift for my 4 year old.It says 4-9 year old recommended but most of the functionality is for minimum 7 year old readers. The drawer did not open until I pried it open with a screwdriver (almost breaking it.)The paper money ripped as I tried to separate it from the package. The calculator function would not make sense to anyone under 9 years old. You need to press the buttons in a specific order to make the calculator work properly otherwise you just end up with a lot of ERROR messages on the display. We have another electronic cash register that I paid (...) for at a dollar store that makes a lot more sense for this age range.

2-0 out of 5 stars The quality is very disappointing.
My 3 1/2 year old daughter loves to play with this register, but often gets frustrated because the drawer doesn't work right and the screen only works sometimes.

This was an expensive toy and I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.I plan on writing the company and complaining.Hopefully other shoppers will avoid the problems I (and the other buyers) have encountered.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNK!
My daughter was so excited to buy this with her Christmas money and ended up disappointed and frustrated when we got it home and it wouldn't work right out of the box.The drawer won't open, there was very little money. The paper money ripped when we took it out of the box because it was stuck to the box w/rubber cement. It's heading back to the store tonight!Biggest piece of junk we've spent $22 on! ... I bought this for my daughters birthday and to our dismay there was no ant certificate to send in for our ants. I have tried and tried to contact Uncle Miltons and the line is constantly busy. I am going to return this and purchase another brand.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun for a few days but thats its
We got the ants, followed the instructions etc. The first few days my son enjoyed it.They really dug tunnels and worked very hard. But by day 4 they just started dying off.At the end of the first week all the ants were dead.If they could have just lasteda little longer I might recommend this product but its just a waste for a few short days.

4-0 out of 5 stars The best purchase I've made so far!
As an early childhood educator, I must say this product has the most for the money. There are at least 4 different educational uses.My son began using it around 13 months and continued until about 20 months. He loved discovering that the wooden dowels fit into the holes of the blocks and the table -early lacing skills! As he got older, he enjoyed the activities of stacking the blocks and the shape sorter. These strengthened fine motor development and eye-hand coordination.Cognitive skills can be worked on by counting, and matching the colors and shapes. It was also great that he found other toys, like plastic rings that fit on the dowels too. More than one child or adult can play so this encourages social skills. Clean up time was simple when the center is used for storage. The only thing that disappointed me was that the cover for the center starage area did not fit. As for the 4 star rating on fun - I'm not big on electronic toys but if you have them, you will understand that this may not be the first toy your child runs to. It also doesHowever, if you kneel on the floor next to him to encourage and provide positive feeback, he'll learn much more than what an electronic toy can teach. Thank you Small World Toys! ...
