5-0 out of 5 stars Learn through Music really teaches!
My mother in law got this unit with Elmo's Scavenger Hunt cartridge for my son when he was 1 1/2.While one of the other reviewers says it's too loud it does have two volumes. My son had mastered this cartridge by his 2nd birthday. So for Christmas we got him Elmo's numbers and Blue's Clues colors....he has excelled with this toy.
He know's how to mix colors now at 2 1/2 and can tell you exactly how to do it.How many kids his age know that green and yellow make Chartruse? And with Elmo numbers he knows how to count in English and Spanish.
It's an excellent toy...annoying at first because there is something new to learn on each "page" and the songs are great for kids but hard on parents.
As for durability..the only problem we have encountered in 1 1/2 years of use is that anything that falls into the cartridge chamber can harm it...in our case cat hair. But it's worth paying the price....it's excellent and it's a learning tool that can be used for so many things.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!...worth the money
I bought this toy over a year ago for my now 2-1/2 year old daughter and she still plays with it.I now have a 19 month old daughter too, and she loves the toy just as much. The youngest bops to the music, and the oldest sings away in the microphone. I have not yet changed the batteries, the "pages" don't stick, the volume is a good volume since it can be adjusted with the "high/low" switch on back. I find the toy to be plenty durable since my youngest seems to stand on it quite a bit and has not damaged the screen or any part of it yet. I also plan to buy more cartridges this weekend for them since I just still have the one it came with. I'm hoping the others are just as fun for my kids as the Sesame Street one. I gave the toy only 4 stars because of the colors on the screen...it would be nice if they were a bit brighter and bolder for the kids.

1-0 out of 5 stars A whole lot of fun..... UNTIL IT STOPS WORKING!
My 18 month old daughter loved this toy soooo much in the store that I just had to buy it for her. I also picked up two extra cartridges for it. I thought the price was a little high, but for such a great toy I felt that it was worth it. Well, we got it home and she loved it! We played with it together (at all times, other times it was put up) and had so much fun with it... until 3 days after buying it when it stopped working. We didn't have any trouble with the microphone, but the pages would stick on every single cartridge. I changed the batteries, thinking that we probably just played with it too much, but that didn't help. I ended up taking it back to our Toys 'R' Us and exchanging everything for another. Okay, second toy worked really well for about 3 wks, then not only did the pages start sticking but the microphone started cutting out as well!! There was NO REASON for this! My daughter never threw it, stepped on it, hit it, etc. I took it back AGAIN (thank goodness for saving boxes and receipts!! The 3rd one worked a bit longer, almost 2 months, and then the same things started happening again. After putting new batteries in the 3rd toy and having the problems continue, I finally had my partner try to fix it himself! We ended up getting so fed up with this toy that we threw it, along with ALL THREE cartridges, in the trash. BIG, BIG, BIG waste of money!! I am extremely disappointed! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another FAVORITE in our house!
My 3 yr old has this game along with Care Bears, Alphabet Park, Winnie the Pooh and Spiderman - this one is one of his favorites! He has learned names of animals and counting, it's AMAZING to hear for the first times out of his mouth, "ostrich, baboon, antelope, rhino etc. I would definatly recommend this game very entertaining!

1-0 out of 5 stars The Worse
I have this Lion King V smile Smartridge my four year old Daughter it doesn't keep her interest at all. It's to slow and it has nothing to do but jump over logs there's no animals like in the movie, the harder level is just the same as the easy version I wish I could get my money back, future purchaser the game that comes with it is great that is the best one for your little ones to grow with.

Signed Take my advise Please

2-0 out of 5 stars The Lion King is too short of a game

5-0 out of 5 stars 12" Raised Relief Explorer Globe
It's amazing how much a child learns by having access. We are an American family living in Germany and felt my 5 year old would have a greater understanding of where we live and where our extended family lives.

5-0 out of 5 stars There should be one in every house!
What a great, inexpensive globe. It's fascinating to watch a child spin a globe - even if they don't seem like they are learning anything, at least they are getting a general idea of the immense size of our world!Since getting this globe, my 5 year old son has learned about the continents and the oceans, found Australia on his own and pointed out that Antarctica is bigger than the USA.It seems that the globe gets loose from it's stand somewhat easily, but it is easily tightened. All in all, a great buy with terrific educational value.

3-0 out of 5 stars poorly designed stand
The globe itself is ok and has a lot of educational value for kids starting out in geography, but the stand is so poorly designed that when you rotate the globe on its axis, the stand easily detaches from the globe. The whole point is to be able to rotate it, so in effect it's not very usable if you have to keep fixing the stand again and again.A heavier stand that would not move when rotating the globe would probably work better. The attaching mechanism needs redesign too -- right now it's just a screw in the base. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars I bought VSmile for my 4 yr. old
I bought this game for my son.He is so smart and loves to learn. It helps to show him what I have already tought him myself.

5-0 out of 5 stars great for 4-6 year olds
My four year old and six year old love this game. It's probably their favorite.Yes, it requires spelling, but it's not difficult.Scooby's little roller coaster jumps up and collects the letters to spell out the word. But it's not like any points are docked for collecting a wrong letter. It's lots of fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars So much fun.
I got this game for my daughter who just turned four in spite of all the other reviews. She absolutely loves Scooby Doo and loves this game. There are a few parts that have taken her a little while to master, but not to the point that she gets frustrated.I do not think that it is too hard at all for a four year old. ... I got this toy when is was little and it is GREAT!It tought me about the letters and numbers and more.If you are thinking about buying this you better think yes.It will teach them great inportant things.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS TOY STINKS
THIS IS THE MOST BORING TOY EVER! My daughter got sick of it in 5 minutes and she hasn't used it since last month! I asked her why she never uses it and she said that it is so boring because it is broken! It's a waste of money!

1-0 out of 5 stars It only worked for ONE WEEK!!!!
This was a great toy the whole one week it worked, my daughter loved it, very educational! Then the buttons started sticking, I could "pop" them out with my fingernail, but then they started really sticking andI couldn't get them unstuck.I had to take it back, nothing I did would get it working again, so then we got the "Leapster", much better for the money. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars IT'S AN ANT FARM
What the heck is the Amozon featured reviewer talking about. IT'S AN ANT FARM!We better keep an eye on her students.Anyway, it is a drag that there is no queen. My grandson was pretty disappointed. It is probably better to not order the ants at all, left up a rock in sandy loam and grap as many workers and eggs that you can.Chances are that you will not get a queen but if you get young enough eggs the workers will grow a new one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ants exemplify lifeskills!
I had this ant farm as a child and LOVED it. It was very educational and entertaining. The ants created their own little community, along with connecting "highways" (tunnels), a graveyard (they carried the dead ants to one little area of the farm and buried them), and even a food "cellar" (they stored all their extra food in one little area at the bottom of the farm). My ants lived for several months and only died when my mother was cleaning house and tried to move it. The tunnels all collapsed and the ants were killed. I am currently a 4th grade teacher and purchasing this for my classroom. I am going to use it to teach habitats and communitites, but most importantly lifeskills. Ants exemplify so many lifeskills...patience, cooperation, perseverance, endurance, caring, effort, problem solving, etc. WOW!! So much we can learn from one tiny creature.

2-0 out of 5 stars All ants dead in 2 weeks.
Took like 2 months to get the ants. Two weeks for them to die. We have 2 ants alive. After two weeks. I don't know....We followed the instructions... ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I Hate this toy!!!
This is the worst 23 dollars I've ever spent!! When I tried to set the date, it always said, May 33rd! I can't beleive they actually try to sell this. The company who made this thing probably will go out of business. Whatever you do, don't buy this toy. All you're going to do is return it. Just avoid it completely from the start!

1-0 out of 5 stars worst toy ever
This toy is a waste of money. I bought it for my 7 year old. The voice is with an english accent and you can't understand half of what she says. When we finnally managed to get the password to accept, after closing the journal we couldn't get back in because it didn't recognize the password. We are from South Carolina so it couldn't understand what we were telling it to do. Very frustrating! Forget about setting the time and date. What a rip off!

5-0 out of 5 stars Older brother can't open it

2-0 out of 5 stars Great IF it works!
Let's make this brief - my sons ages 3 & 5 love this robot. The first one we received as a gift lost its graphics in the first hour. The next one started cutting out with sound problems in three days. Did I try new bateries and troubleshooting in the manual, YES. Because my 3 yr old really loves it, I will try one LAST time before Kasey is in the dump. If you buy it, save the receipt.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kasey is #1 in our House
My son received Kasey for Christmas last year and absolutely loves his robot! He loves how the buttons light up and how Kasey dances. I am home schooling my son and have tried to get him to learn from books and similar sources but at age 4 he wasn't interested. He took to Kasey right away and has learned so much in a year of having the robot. This year he got the Science Wonderful World cartridge and just loves it. Also, he takes Kasey in the car when we travel and he is quiet the entire time. Kasey has been through a lot in the past year, some drops and bumps but he has endured! I would definitely buy Kasey again! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Dinosaur devotees will be roaring over this radio-controlledTyrannosaurus Rex as he growls and roars, moves his head, thrashes histail, and even blinks his beady yellow eyes. He can also turnrealistically and walk forward a few steps on a hard surface, growlingand roaring at the same time, if you choose. T-Rex is 11 inches tall and21 inches from nose to tail, with textured, flexible brown rubber skinthat bends and moves. The controller is shaped like a stone with twobone-shaped joysticks to control the dinosaur's walking and turning.Buttons on the side of the controller make T-Rex move his head and frontfeet, snap his jaws, roar, and blink his eyes. The controller slidesopen in the middle for use, and you have to be careful not to pinch yourfingers when you snap it shut. T-Rex requires a total of six AAbatteries, two for the controller and four inside the dinosaur, and thebattery compartment inside the T-Rex is rather difficult to access.Despite these small drawbacks, this dino is one cool dude that willthrill any kid in the midst of the inevitable dinosaur phase. -- Marcie Bovetz ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed on Christmas
The only toy our 5 year old wanted was a t-rex with batteries. How disappointing when we turned it on and nothing happened. We sent "Roarie" back to the "North Pole" aka amazon, for replacement. when the new one arrived, Joy was immediately replaced by tears when the new one stopped functioning after less than 2 minutes! This toy is fragile to say the most.

1-0 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE TOY!!!
CONSUMER BEWARE!My five-year old son received this for Christmas. It was great while it worked, a whole two days! What a huge upset!I didn't see any educational value to it, except the education of disappointment from a fragile toy. We didn't have any trouble putting batteries in.Although the feel and look of the dinosaur is real and unique, a stuffed animal would have been more educational and less disappointing!I guess it will become a figurine on a shelf!I'm late in writing this review, because I just wouldn't give up hope, until now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantasticasaurus!
This was a Christmas gift for my just about 4yo son who is very much intrigued with dinosaurs, his favorite being T-Rex!I was very impressed, as was he, at it's "realness".Very life like when it gets "ROARING" and stomping around!Great gift for a dino lover..just keep batteries handy. There is a switch on the dinosaur that you must turn "off" and you must close up the hand held remote as well....try explaining that to a 4yo! ... Read more

LeapFrog's arsenal of learning toys are all designed to boost children's skills at an early age and get them ahead of the curve. And what could offer a better head start than the LeapPad, which is essentially a lightweight child-sized laptop. Instead of a mouse, the LeapPad comes with a wide easy-to-grip pen that allows children to point to pictures to hear music or sound effects or point to words to hear them spoken. In addition, kids can use the pen to practice making letters and numbers. This set comes with two books focused on writing skills and children place them inside the LeapPad tablet and boot up to begin learning. This learning system pack come with a writing practice book geared to pre-kindergarteners to first graders to teach how to write letters, numbers, words, and equations. A second interactive book offers an assortment of stories and lessons in phonics, science, geography, music, and more. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars poor quality but great idea.
Just received one for my son's birthday. He loves it as he has a laptop like daddy. The quality is terrible, like another user's experience the right side of the device doesn't work properly and this is brand new. Apparently the sensors on the device don't line up properly with the go circles or volume icons on pages with them on the right side. I can't exchange it as I am not in the US so we can only play with half a book unless we experiment with finding where the right side sensors actually are. This of course is very frustrating to a 3 yr old as it really messes up alot of stuff.
Also the type of pencil seems rally sharp and brittle for a 4 yr old.PS the box says for 4-8 yr olds vs Amazons text of less than 4 by the manufacturer.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed daughter and pocketbook
I am extremely disappointed with this product.I purchased a LeapPad Plus Writing system for my daughter's birtday this past year (September). She was excited to get it and loved it at first. However, after a few months, only one side of the pad was working. We can go through the books and they have the green go circle on one side of the page - this works fine. However, the side without the circle does not respond properly, if at all. This was not my first LeapPad product, so I considered problems with the batteries and pencil.I have replaced the batteries in this product, but had no change in the problem.Since this one is the Writing unit, it appears to be able to use it with or without the pencil inserted. Also, since it is only one side of the pad which does not work properly, I would not think it is a problem with the pen.I had purchased this product as well as a number of other accessories (extra books, case to hold it in).I looked at this as something she would be able to use and grow with, not something we would be throwing out after a few months.

We were already past the warranty period of 90 days, so I am looking to LeapPad currently for other suggestions.Otherwise, when puchasing this product, I would hold off on buying a lot of accessories until you make sure the product is in it for the long run also.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Leap Pad is a wonderful learning aid and toy!
I think this toy is great! It's perfect for my 4-year old who is just learning to write. She loves it! Her attention span is short, so she only plays with it for about 20 min before she gets tired or frustrated.

I need to sit with her and help her which gives us quality time together. She is learning from it, better than when I go over the material in a plain old workbook. She likes the colors and sounds that you just don't get from worksheets.

I also have the leap pad w/o writing and she loved that one too. I never had a problem keeping the books and tapes organized and together like others had complained about. The different books giver her choices and I just keep everuthing in a large tub. The same goes for the "My Firtst Leap Pad" as well.

First Act's Student Guitar is an excellent choice for children who are just beginning to play theguitar. It's areduced 30 inches long, rather than a full-size model adults would use. Made with lightweightwood and steel strings, the guitar features a steel-reinforced neck and a high-gloss protective finish thatwears well and looks good for the long haul. The low string action design of the fret board makes it easyfor small fingers to strike chords without discomfort. 1-0 out of 5 stars Yikes....
Guys...this is a TOY...if your child is seriously interested in learning to play guitar, you should actually search for a real instrument. Amazon.com offers 25" guitars with accessories for only about $50...and they're actually pretty good. Don't waste your time with this thing...it's pathetic. Search for starter guitars in "Musical Instruments"...not "Toys", you're asking for disappointment.

It won't stay tuned.
It doesn't come with anything that you need to start out with (picks, extra set of strings, books, strap, case...etc.).
It's not even put together like a guitar should.

Go for the real things. Don't waste your time with this...

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for very young Children 2-5
I am so glad we bought this. We bought this guitar so Our 1 and a half year old would have something to play with when we play guitar. The guitar doesn't keep in tune very well, so if you want to play music on it, It must be re-tuned every time. It has proven to be extremely durable, My son who is two and a half loves it, He has dragged it around with him allover the house and plays with it when others play instruments. I find it to be a phenomenal educational toy, One with wich to teach appreciation and care of musical instruments. We paid around 35 dollars so we felt that if it were to break we wouldn't be too upset. It is still going with my second child of one, he plays with it now. You must use adult supervision and not tighten the strings too much as they may snap just like a normal guitar. I think that this guitar has helped my son develop a love of music as we haven't restricted the use of it for fear of breakage or damage. Also this toy is a great way to determine if your child may stick with the guitar, We plan on buying another more high quality instrument when he gets older. Remember this is a musical toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Every kid should have these
My kids have both kinds of magnets, these and the plastic letters with the little magnets in them. They love to play with all of them, but they get frustrated when the plastic ones just slide down the fridge, or when the magnets fall off. The plastic ones end up under the fridge; their thicker profile and poor magnets are a bad combination. This kind is MUCH better; they'relightweight and completely covered with magnetic material on the back. They don't fall apart and they stay put! Less frustration for the kids, less hassle for me: It's all good!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best set of ABC magnets out there!
Like a lot of people, I grew up with those plastic alphabet letters on my fridge. So when my son was around 2 years old, I figured it was about time to get a set for our home. We were fortunate enough to get this set as a gift. I was truly impressed! This set is by far superior to any others I've seen on the market. They're large and colorful, and the entire back of the letter is a magnet. Not just one little square. They really stay put on the fridge! I also like that they're wood. Sure, bite marks would probably show up more on the wood than on plastic. But overall, I think the wood is far more sturdy and durable. All the letters come in a nice wood box with a sliding clear lid, making it easy to keep everything together. You really couldn't ask for more!

3-0 out of 5 stars not pleased
My son got these when he was about 2.Right out of the box, some letters were de-magnatized.He enjoyed playing with them on the fridge for a while, but some of the affected letters were in his name - the first things kids usually spell. He has learned some of his letters, but I wish we had the old fashioned plastic letters. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Finding Nemo #1
This is a really Neat leap pad book!My kids LOVED the movie! And were ecstatic, to get the leap pad book.It has some entertaining games, and my kids ask to play this book alot more than others. I highly recommend this book!It has alot of FUN stuff in it.I hope your children like it as much as my 7, 6, and 3 year olds do.. :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Like it pretty much
Pretty nice game. The illustrations do not look exactly like the characters in the movie. They are more like cartoon illustrated (see front cover-- the illustrations inside are similar). This was a little dissappointing at first. The voices are pretty good, it has some nice songs, and teaches some educational facts about the sea.My son's favorite part is the deep sea page.

5-0 out of 5 stars grab shell dude!
Alex got this for Christmas and absolutely loves it! This is neck and neck w/Lion King as his favorite LeapPad book. The best part for the 'big people' in the house are the jellyfish game and the turtle game. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game is awesome. It has many different options in the Learning Adventure section that will keep the kids going for hours. They have also included secret areas on some of the games that make them more interesting. The learning games are fun and utilize the color coded buttons and get the kids to work on accuracy. Especially in the find the gopher game. This game is the best I have encountered for the V-Smile for my 3 and 5 year olds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Smartridge for 3-4 year olds!
This is an adorable game with nice graphics. It's easy to play and educational (for kids who need help learning their letters, colors, and shapes). The other games we've tried are just too hard. What 4 year old knows how to spell? Certainly not mine. The Scooby Doo is just way too difficult. This one is just right. And it's much more entertaining than the Care Bears smartridge.

5-0 out of 5 stars Winnie the Pooh a Winning Game
Of all the V~smile smartridges we have bought (Care Bear, Little Mermaid, etc.), the Winnie the Pooh remains to be one of the favorites for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. It teaches letters, shapes, and numbers and helps with hand-eye coordination on joystick manuevering.Object of the game is simple, yet never boring. There are many different levels to the game (Blustery Day, Winter Wonderland, etc.) and even mom and dad love playing it.Of all the different smartridges, this one holds her attention best and has the most variety.Pooh Bear's movements (slipping over the log, dangling from a tree limb) are cute and whimsical, as are his traditional phrases "Oh Bother!"This game is a winner.A++++ ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A must-have for every preschooler
My son received this video for his 4th birthday from his aunt. After watching it over and over for 2 days straight, not only did our son know the sound of every letter, but had also learned to create words. I only wish there was another video to continue after this one, however, it taught my son to start creating words on his own, and within a few short months, he was reading on a 1st grade level. He is not yet 5 and is reading 2nd grade books with little to no help. Definitely worth the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars works miracles
My son has been in speach therapy for 1 1/2 years. He did not start talking till he was 2 1/2.Now a 4 year old, he is as stubborn as I am and wouldn't sing the alphabet song with me, nothing I did could encourage him to learn his letters or his numbers.I stumbled onto this at our base exchange and he loved it.I would let him play with the sample one when we came into the store.I brought my husband to show him how interested he was in the system. So we made the investment.I am amazed. He got this system from Santa for Christmas with the letter factory cartridge and by the beginning of February, he knew all his letters of the alphabet and what sounds they make!He learned the proper way to make the L sound (hard for him)and when I correct him he starts singing the leapster song.He loves this game.I have since (March) purchased the Word factory and he is trying to READ!!He loves the "sticky letters" concept.I can't believe how well these games are made as to hold the attention of a very busy 4 year old! Who is no longer in speach therapy :)

5-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!!!
My 3 year old is starting to sound out words and spell them - all thanks to this cartridge.I take the lessons he's learned and use them in every day life - this is amazing, I believe my son will be an early reader, and this is giving him an amazing boost. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
My daughter got this game for her 3rd birthday. She and her 4-year-old sister love to play this game daily!!Now I am buying more to give as birthday gifts to friends/family.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Gift that Kids Love
I bought this game for my children several years ago on the advice of the owner of my favorite toy store.I love board games, and my children were 3 and 5 then, and just starting to enjoy them as well.Well, we couldn't get the kids to stop playing Zingo. They played quietly for more than 2 hours.Since you can play with up to 8 players, we have had lots of neighborhood kids playing the game out on the front steps.Since then, I have bought at least 10 Zingo games -- I have given them to all my children's friends and I always keep a few around to give out for birthday gifts.Everyone loves this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars great design, great fun
This preschooler variation of the old favorite Bingo is a real winner.

Zingo cards have a 3 by 3 grid that shows pictures and words.Cards have a yellow side (easier, for younger kids) and a red side for the odler ones. The plastic game piece dispenser is well-designed and fun to use.Players shout out to claim a piece, which is then placed over the appropriate square on the player's card. There are several play variations.

Excellent game for the younger set, and fun for older children and adults as well. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Kids Guitar
This guitar seems to be a well built guitar for kids who are interested in learning, but who are too young to go out and spend a $100 or more on a guitar.I received the guitar today and played with the tuners. They seem to be tunning.I need to get it fully tuned to see how long it stays in tune. From what I understand it takes a while before the strings get worn in so that you don't have to tune it as much.I plan on tunning it several times before Christmas. My 6 year old son should like this guitar, and hopefully learn a few things from it too! This guitar has the feel of a grownup guitar without the grownup guitar price. My only negative so far is the guitar pick guard was alittle scratched, but it's probably going to get alot worst off when the kid get it!All in all, for the price.I feel this was a good purchase!

This toy help me learn how hard and entertaining a gutiar is.

4-0 out of 5 stars Review of Hohner Acoustic Guitar with Songbook
The Hohner Acoustic Guitar seems to be well crafted. The hardware seems to be of good quality and the sound is good for a "toy" guitar. The songbook, well......it has a lot to be desired. So don't buy it for the book.It has three songs in the "U.S.A." section and the directions for using the book and the 'dots' are too vague for me and my child to understand. Therefore, playing the three songs in the book is virtually impossible. ... Editorial Review

Classic and sturdy, this black, solid wood grand piano is an adorableaccessory for your child's playroom or bedroom. Toddlers will love feigningMozart alongside real pianists, or simply getting their fingers prepared forthose afterschool lessons. That said, this piano is not a real piano; the keysare arranged like the real thing, but it doesn't use tunable strings. And whileit gives the proper notes, the instrument sounds more like the toy that it is,rather than a tiny Steinway, as the elegant exterior implies.

The piano hasonly 15.5 inches of legroom underneath, and the matching bench is about 12 by8.5 inches, so kids older than 4 or perhaps 5 years would hardly be able to playcomfortably at it. To get your mini maestro started, a page of letter-codedsheet music featuring short familiar songs, such as "London Bridge" and "JingleBells," is included. A detachable sheet music stand rests conveniently on top ofthe piano. --Diane Beall ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good piano but the stool breaks easily
I bought this last Christmas for my three year old and five year old.Thesound of the piano is a little off, but all in all the piano is nice for the price. The leg of the stool breaks very easily.Don't buy unless you can fix.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good product for the price!
My wife and I knew we wanted to get a toy piano for our little girl, and struggled somewhat with what brand and price range to stick with.I'm glad to have come across this little jewel! Our girl, though only one year old now, plays with it frequently, and likes to hear other people play it.When she's hiding somewhere or getting into mischief, I'll just hit a few keys and she'll come crawling out of wherever she was hiding to join me.

Keep in mind this is a *TOY* piano--don't expect a grand piano sound out of a toy. This utilizes small metal rods of varying lengths in the interior of the instrument to produce the sound, which is a clear, pleasant tinkling; much like a windchime. One note was a bit sour, but I solved this by removing the top cover (4 screws), and adjusting the appropriate metal rod. These slide back and forth with gentle pressure, so it is possible to tune the instrument perfectly. The legs of the piano and stool can loosen over time, but you can easily solve this with a couple drops of loc-tite solution.

There are more well-known name brands and better workmanship out there, but I'm glad not to have spent more than was necessary for a decent quality instrument.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sound is not very good
My 2 year old son got this for Christmas last year and was initially very excited because he loves music. However the piano has a very tinny sound and doesn't even come close to a real piano sound. Also the stool and piano legs have to be tightened often and can come off quite easily. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars great idea, but...
The Get-Up Roaring Dinosaur looks like a pretty cool toy, and my 3 year old nephew fell in love with it when he first put it on; however, the fun was short lived. He immediately took on his adorable, little dinosaur persona and he loved the great sound effects, but the costume was simply too hot for him to wear for long, especially while tromping around. Also, the sound effects didn't always fit his imagined scenario. After just a few minutes, the whole thing ended up another discarded, temporary toy.Although he still likes to pretend he's a dinosaur, he does so sans costume.

This may work as a great halloween costume, but it will not be the source of hours of fun for energetic 3-6 year olds.On the other hand, I'd like to know when they come out with an adult-sized version!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the most inventive toys on the market
This toy is really one of the coolest I've seen. Unfortunately these Get-ups were not around when I was little but I get excited just watching my little brother and my little cousins play in their Get-ups for hours. Depending on which animal the child chooses they can slip into furry slippers and a stuffed-animal-like head piece that makes realistic noises in relation to the childs movement. Each tilt of the head makes a completely different kind of roar or snarle (the slippers make sound too!). But the animal sounds are extremely realistic which allows kids to really explore their imagination while wearing this interactive costume. ... Read more
