Presto, change-o! Children can transform themselves intomagicians with this ultimate prestidigitator's prop. The velvety blacktop hat comes equipped with a secret interior compartment and a soft, plush white rabbit that hides easily inside. Aspiring magicians can showspectators a seemingly empty hat and then proudly pull the small rabbitout of the well-concealed pocket. Great looking and a cinch to maneuver, this hat will truly set the stage for a terrific magic act. --JaneSnyder ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars If your kid's into this stuff, this is the thing to get
My kid loves this hat. It's soft and fully collapsible and has a velcro compartment for the bunny. It looks like something the Artful Dodger would wear when it's worn.Goes great with a Darth Vader cape.My kid made the white bunny disappear into the hat and totally confused our scottish terrier. To my dog, my kid is the Master Sorcerer.

4-0 out of 5 stars It has to be said.
Magic is for losers. If you love your kids, redirect their energy to other hobbies. Some examples include: video games, sports, reading, arts and crafts, baking, or animal care.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
My daughter received this magician's hat for her birthday, and has truly enjoyed performing magic tricks for all her friends, classmates, and visitors. She's really learned some showmanship with it, and even adults are at first amazed that her items seem to vanish from the hat. The hat itself is soft and well made. The bunny is a cute stuffed animal, but the best thing about the hat is that is works equally well with all smallish items. A great toy! ... Read more

Abracadabra! Now kids can mystify an audience with MagicRainbows, Rabbit and Rings, Tricky String, Mystery Tube, MagnetizedWand, and more. My First Magic Set holds 12 fun tricks, complete propsand secrets for presenting them, and the carrying case to take the showon the road. All magicians need is the cape and top hat. Actually, the4-to-8-year-olds for whom this set is intended probably also need adulthelp in reading the well-written and illustrated, 16-page "SecretInstruction Booklet." Parents and kids get together doing the lightassembly necessary (such as separating the perforated sheet of cards, folding cardboard to form the magic box, applying a sticker) to four ofthe tricks. Then pore over the step-by-step pictures and instructionsbefore the little magician goes off to perfect the sleight of hand. Forextra help, every trick's instructions are accompanied by a "Secret"that summarizes and explains the key to the trick. (Example: "Thehidden finger hole allows you to secretly reach in and 'untie' thestring.") A sure-fire hit--better start sewing that cape and top hat.--Ava Natov ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
This is a kit with directions and equipment for ten magic tricks. Some of the items are made of paper and seem a bit flimsy. I agree with the previous reviewer who said the stacking boxes needed some reshaping. However, overall, this is a great kit.

My son worked hard practicing and practicing and showing off his magic tricks. We did one a day for a few days running. It taught him to work at practice and it helped him practice his speaking in public (since he performed for everyone!)He was able to complete most of the magic tricks with little help after one demonstration. Lots of fun.

Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars AbraCadabra!!
A first Magic set for my 5 year old, he loves it!!He and his friends have created magic acts for each other and have laughed all the way.The tricks are easy enough for their age to try, and remember how to do. The directions come with pictures, so they can figure them out if the wording is too comlplicated. The set itself is durable enough fot most tricks to be done over and over. The blocks take some reshaping and the rabbit ring trick does not really fit right, but overall, a good first set.It definately was the hit ofa rainy Sunday!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the beginner magician
This is an easy to understand and simple to set-up magic kit for the first time magician. If your child is a reader, then they are capable of presenting most of the tricks independently. A plus! My seven year old enjoys demonstrating his magic tricks for family. His four year old sister loves to watch, and if allowed, to be an assistant. A great buy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised!
My 7 year old daughter had requested Marvin's Magic for her birthday, and despite reading poor reviews on some of the other magic sets, I got this for her.Upon opening it, I was very pleasantly surprised. The case was fairly sturdy, and had compartments for everything to go back in when finished (I was worried I would be putting everything in a baggie after opening it.) We haven't gotten through all the tricks, but there have been several that have been very quick to learn and do.Several of us adults have had to read the magic book to figure out how some of the things were done!A very nice set overall. ... Cadaco has something cool up its sleeve. This nifty set furnishes young magicians with a bag of10 tricks, including the Crystal Box Illusion, the Block through the Wand, and the Stuffed Animal from theHat.The how-to booklet provides clear and detailed instructions on these deceptions and other tricks withcards, balls, boxes and tubes.Kids will love being in on the secrets behind these illusions, and theyprobably won't want to share the mysteries with either siblings or friends. Carrying the tricks offseamlessly will take lots of practice, but this set should get kids off to a good start in understanding andperforming magic acts. Pieces are made of cardboard or plastic. Some elements needed for the tricks(candy, a stuffed animal) are not included. --Wendy Slotboom ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A wand is NOT a sword
I guess I forgot that in today's society children tend to think of fighting instead of the wonders of magic.
I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. The first thing he did was put on the hat and grab the wand and start charging with his sword ... eeks ...I had to remind him that Harry Potter would never use his wand as a sword ... that it is only to be used for magic.I would have said David Copperfield to him but he would have said ... Who ??
I'm sure it won't last long as it is a bunch of cardboard. What do you expect from a 5 year old.Butttttttttt...It gave some quality time between father and son as he had to spend time with him to figure out the tricks. So what if the toy doesn't last forever, the memory of daddy doing magic tricks with him will.

1-0 out of 5 stars Trash it!
This item stinks! One of the hat tricks doesn't work right and most of the other tricks are so lame that both my four year old and six year old think it's stupid. There is always one Christmas toy that makes its way to the trash...and this is the one.Even if they used it I'm sure it would make it's way to the trash as the hat insert and some of the cardboard props dent and rip very easily.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Beginners
This is a great little starter set for anyone who wants to get started in Magic. This set has a variety of tricks to keep both you and your audience on their toe. Some of the tricks can be performed with just a littlepractice. But there are some that you need to work with for a while beforeyou present them to your audience.

This set includes: Trading Places; aCard trick, Square Circle, Crystal Box Illusion, X-Ray Color Vision Box,Stuffed Animal from Hat, Candy from Empty Hat, Monte Rabbit Cards, BlockThrough Wand, Color Changing Balls, Wand from Tube, and Wonder Balls.

AllProps are plastic or cardboard. The only drawback is that the cardboarditems will wear out quicker with a lot of use.Over all this is aWonderful way to get your introduction to Fun World of Magic. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Cheap and not very fun, my kid votes no.
I had a magic set when I was a kid, and remember having a lot of fun, but this set is no fun and not worth it.The booklet of 100 additional magic tricks is not very exciting and hard to understand. This set leaves you feeling very empty about magic in general, and I doubt if my kid will ever want to play around with magic toys again. The kit includes 20 other tricks. One is a paper cup with a very cheap plastic insert. You poke a hole with an unsupplied pencil through the cup and then pour water into the insert, the cup doesn't leak!Chances are, you'll poke a hole right through the insert. The hat itself is cheap plastic and has an insert to cover something that you supposedly can hide something. It will fool no one one.Don't buy this thing; and Toys R Us, when you do finally sell out, don't sell us any more, please. ... This is fantastic. Dumb me, I bought this at Harrods in London for 35 pounds ($70). Even though I later found it at Amazon for almost half that, I still have no regrets because it is that good of a kit.

4-0 out of 5 stars A high quality set
I recently got this kit, and it is very good quality, and for the most part easy to learn, and impressive tricks. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it only comes with about 5 tricks, unless you count the ability to do a bunch of different card tricks.Over all, a great product though. ... It's as cliché as it gets--trick cards, shuffling cups, knotting rope--but kids will feel as accomplished as David Copperfield after filling an entire show with masterful performances learned from this deluxe magic kit. Of course, the central item is an illustrious, albeit floppy, black top hat. Inside it is a secret pocket, from which to pull things--including a white rabbit--as if from thin air! A discreet slit in the hat's seam also accommodates a hidden hand, which can make the rabbit (which doubles as a hand puppet) perform between tricks. Most of the tricks require some analytical and fine motor skill, and some items are small and easy to swallow, so this toy is intended for Houdinis that are at least 5 years old. --Diane Beall ...
