Editorial Review

Just like its big brother, Monopoly Jr. is big-time fun for everyone! Spend a day at the amusement park. Ride the roller coaster, bumper cars, or Ferris wheel. How about a game of miniature golf or a visit to the haunted house? It's simple--set up ticket booths on as many boardwalk amusements as possible, then build your fortune collecting the entrance fees as other players land on your properties. If someone else already owns an amusement, you pay up. Watch out--if one player owns both amusements of the same color, you must pay them double! So have some fun. And don't forget--pass GO, collect $2. --Alison Golder ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We LOVE this game.
This is a wonderful game!!!My 6 year old loved to play Monopoly, but it was very hard for her and no fun for me.This version is WONDERFUL!!! My little girl can count out her own money and tell me what to pay when I land on her property.I like and want to play this game with my daughter. My 3 year old can also play this game with a little help.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ok for kids
I baby sit a lot, so I bought this for when the kids come over. It's not hard at all, there isn't much thinking involved and the kids actually enjoyed it. But I will say that they outgrew it really fast. Pretty soon they were wanting to play "real" Monopoly with the "big kids". And I must say, they won a lot!
Over-all though, it's a good starting point to a good "real" Monopoly player.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite game!
My son receive this as a gift when he was four. He loved playing this game on the computer and loves the board game version even more. We have lost a few of the "ticket booths" but when you're five that just doesn't matter. A great way to start the foundation of adding and subtraction. The money could be a little more durable but overall for the price you get great family fun! ... Read more

All of your favorite Disney characters are featured in classic Monopolystyle for a family game that everyone can enjoy. You already know how to play,so nothing has changed--except a few things that actually make this versioncollectible. Solid pewter moving pieces feature Snow White, a coupled Lady & TheTramp, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Alice, and Baboo. Property is representedas a cottage and the Prince's well-known castle. Scrooge McDuck, naturally, isfeatured on all Monopoly money in place of Rich Uncle Pennybags. --DianeBeall ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Disney makes the magic shine...
This is so much fun... but it is still as long as the original.I love this one better because I am a Disney freak!Everything about the game has a Disney theme now.But the rules are the same as the first one.If you are a fan of Monopoly then you will also love this version long as you like Disney.I find it great for the family to sit down and play!Just as long as they have patience as it can be a quite long game at times.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Game on Earth
It toally rocks. the durbleness is slitly not fondbecause the money will rip. The ed. is okay by having kids use their mind to count .

5-0 out of 5 stars A little visit to Disney without leaving home!
This is a wonderful game for the family to play - it's a mental visit to Disney World for all of us.The kids are learning about numbers and money while having fun!Landing on a particular spot, Space Mountain as an example, brings up memories and stories. Our entire family looks forward to playing this version of an all-time classic game! ... Editorial Review

Anyone can become a megamillionaire just like Mr. Burns with thiscollector's edition of Monopoly based on The Simpsons, the beloved,sometimes-controversial animated TV series. The rules of the game remain thesame, but the old Monopoly properties are now all Springfield landmarks, with anew monorail running across the game board. Players use tiny pewter game tokensof Bart, Homer, and other Springfield characters as they purchase stores, restaurants, and homes. Who wouldn't want to buy Krustylu Studios or theKwik-E-Mart? Instead of acquiring houses and hotels, players try to accumulate monorailstops and stations on their properties. Customized Chance and Community Chestcards offer additional sly references and cartoon drawings of the characters. The cultural references are up-to-the-minute, but the educational value ofplaying strategic board games remains constant. --Marcie Bovetz, mother andformer children's librarian ... • Special Offer inside the game allows you to collect additional tokens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simpsons monoply
This game kicks major @$$.
buy this over any other monoply game

4-0 out of 5 stars Exxxcellent!!!!
This is an extremely great version of what is the greatest board game ever created. The rules are of course exactly the same but the Simpsons properties, money, Chance and Community Chess cards and everything else make it a fresh experience. The fact that the game board and game tokens are monorail themed does date it a little reducing it to a four and a half star rating. I would have preferred it wasn't that way with just the four train stations monorail themed. It is still great though but I would also like to have seen more game tokens of the other family members especially Grandpa and Maggie, and also other characters like Mr Burns in addition or instead of the doughnut. They could have also put Snake in the jail cell on that corner of the board rather than the traditional Monopoly criminal icon and Chief Wigum on the Go to Jail Square but maybe I'm just being picky.

This is an excellent gift idea for anyone who even only occasionally enjoys the Simpsons and a must for anyone who is a fan. Also recommended to enjoy the game even more is Monopoly Companion The Players Guide by Philip Orbanes. This book will refresh the rules and save arguments and even teach you some, such as I never knew the number of houses was limited for a reason so that you could strategise and not buy hotels to stop someone else with a set from building.Just buy the game, you won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, Great Fun!!!!!!
This is by far the coolest monopoly edition to date; and i've seen them all. The attention to detail is amazing. You won't regret this buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Nice
As a collector of Monopoly sets I admit there is little variation on the rules or formula between them. But Scooby Doo Fright Fest (the second Scooby Doo Monopoly incarnation) offers a little more variation and feels `newer' than say Simpsons Monopoly.

The packaging and artwork are beautiful, the `Funny Money' dollars are minted, the Community Chest and Chance cards are now called Zoinks and Jinkies, boring hotels and houses are now Snack Shacks and Burger Joints and the playing pieces are obviously the Mystery Inc. Gang and their Mystery machine.

Out of zillions of Monopolies to choose from Scooby Doo Fright Fest is one of the best. And it's an absolute MUST for Scooby Fans. Shame on you if you don't have it already. Plus, as this game is easy to identify with for the kids, it's probably appropriate for most kids aged 8+.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!! ^o^

Eager for a game of Monopoly, but don't have a few hours handy?Pick up the Monopoly Card Game and get your land-baron fix in under anhour. Game play is fast and fun. Try to build up a color set ofproperties and lay down your hand first with as many houses, hotels, and other beneficial cards as possible. You'll need to exchange cardswith other players to win, which adds new levels of strategy andrecalls the wheeling and dealing of the board game. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Monopoly Card Game Review
This game is a great game where kids can have fun and learn how to count, add, and subtract money all at the same time! This is great for kids of all ages!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best card game in a long time!
Way better than regular Monopoly, I even enjoy playing it just with my husband. It takes a bit for others to get the hang of it (after they get past the groans of Monopoly? I hate that game it takes forever) but by about round three they've got a handle on it and enjoy the game.Only downside is that they give you money to keep track of your points. A pencil and a notepad would have been better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Winning Moves is making some Winning Moves
I'm a huge gamer and love all sorts of games.Recently, at our game club, someone suggested playing this card game as a filler game while we waited for other players to arrive.I agreed, although reluctant. After all, how could anyone make a true card game out of Monopoly?Needless to say, I came away rather impressed. In fact, the next meeting, I asked to play it again while we waited.

The Monopoly themed rummy type game did not work well in a five player session, I don't recommend it for that.I can also see how a 2 player version would be quite boring, but 3-4 and you've got a game worth playing.

Players must discard (in front of them) one card per turn. These are done in order. On a turn, a player must draw a card from the deck, or trade cards to get one of the cards in front of another player. If a player wants the bottom discard of a three card discard pile, he must give the other player three cards.

When a player has collected monopolies and bonus cards as sets, he can then "go out."

We also did not use the provided money, but rather just kept score. However, I can see how kids would prefer to have the play money in front of them to keep track of the score.

4-0 out of 5 stars Monopoly 64
This game is quite fun but it got old pretty quick.I purchased mine through a pawn shop and had no directions and found it rather difficult to figure everything out.It is great to see different characters walk around the screen smiling or frowning. The game is very customizable: Free Parking, X2 if land on GO, Travel around board once before buying property, etc.You can even set the skill of your computer opponents!Great technology but Monopoly isn't the same without the old-fashioned counting.

4-0 out of 5 stars Monopoly for the Millenium
I think this game is great! You get all the joys of Monopoly without the hassle of counting the paper money.I play this at my cousins' house and we have a blast. The characters are adorable, the directions are very clear, and you can type your own name in so you always know who's turn it is.I think it is really a super game that the whole family can enjoy! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Only buy if you've got a lot of friends to play it with
If you have other real people to play this game with, this is a fun way to play Monopoly because all of the time you normally waste digging for pieces or cards and counting money is done away with.
However, playing the computer is no fun what so ever because it has been programmed to be such an abysmal player. It offers you cash for properties based only on their mortgage value. Thus it will buy a property for two hundred dollars one turn, and sell it to you the very next turn for $100- and this is only one example of how much of a dunce it is as an oponent. So if you were hoping that you could finally spend your nights playing Monopoly without having to invite a bunch of people over, I am sorry to say you will be sorely disapointed.

1-0 out of 5 stars No A.I. to be found
Well, the good points...
The game manages to include most of the Monopoly rules correctly, and allows some of the common home varients to be used as well. It may just be up to par for play against human opponents on a PSone with travel screen for rainy hollidays.
But... the computer A.I. is atrocious. I am sure no one actually game-tested this product to see if it could play the game with any skill. Most seven year olds will beat this at the hardest level without difficulty. The A.I. contains no concept of the value of property, or property sets...

1-0 out of 5 stars This game is NOT complete!!
Why would they release a game that Isn't fully complete? Hasbro should have the decency to work on this game even more and the manufacturers should test this game out before it can be sold in stores! They left out the computer AI knowledge on betting theproperties rather than just constantly trading opponents with small amounts of cash for yours; None of them have a different trading personality, The "Advance Token To The Nearest Utility" card is not included in the deck, and the purple properties are NOT highlighted when they get bought on the screen! It should be illegal to manufacture a game that isn't made completely! They should get there act together and either re-release this game so everything is complete or start releasing it on Playstation 2 with the entire game COMPLETELY MADE!! ... Read more
