5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Wonderful Toy!
The whole family enjoys this toy! It took us a few minutes to get the sensitivity just right, but once we did, we loved it.My 2-year-old loves to dance and run around to make it play music. My 9-month old laughs as it plays music when she crawls around it.It even makes music when the cat approaches it!This is a great toy.I would highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars We Love Musini
My 6yr & 15mo old both love the musini, as do my husband and I.The volume is loud enough and the machine has been tough enough to withstand being dropped by my 15mo old. There are a lot of different sounds and songs, especially with the extra cartridge. The only problem we have encountered is when it gets set at the highest sensitivity (10)it doesn't play but if I turn it down slightly it works perfectly. This has provided hours of entertainment for my family.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never worked very well.
Maybe we were using this incorrectly, but it never seemed to work very well. Music stopped and started sporadically. Kind of a disappointment for [$$].

My son got this drum set for his 7th birthday. He really loves it, it is small enough that it does not take up a lot of space in his room but it is durable enough for him to beat on it as hard as he wants to.It is very simple to set up.My son will go in his room and play the drums for long periods of time.

Editorial Review

This lacquered child's guitar is a great first instrument for young enthusiasts, or kids who just want to jam with an adult. It embodies every feature professional electric guitars do; all parents need to supply are lessons. At 30 inches, it's not intimidating but inviting. Its just the right size for elementary school amateurs, but its small, smooth body (including a solid maple neck and fingerboard), real steel strings, and "vintage" coil make it sound and feel as real as a grownup's guitar. A headphone jack can be used for speakers, and the output jack next to it can be used for the amplifier.--Diane Beall ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Put this item in perspective.
There are some real morons typing reviews for this guitar.
This is by no means a high quality professional guitar and don't expect it to be so. It's a beginners toy that comes complete with an amp for around $60! You can't get a real quality guitar with an amp at that price. There's no sense in paying more if you're not sure if the kid getting it is going to follow through with actually learning to play it.
I did have a string break while tuning it put replaced all of them for less than $6 and it actually improved the sound. I've been playing it daily for about a month and am still on the first battery.
Instructions aren't in the box but if they were the price would be higher. Go buy a quality "How to play" book at a music store and it will tell you everything from tuning to playing it. Online lessons are out there for free.
You can't beat this item for what it's meant to do, i.e. introduce a child/adult into playing an instrument.
Now, quit expecting wine on a beer budget and buy this model.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift
My son received this guitar as a gift and he thinks the world of it.He is always playing it and he thinks that it is the best gift ever.He is 8 years old and this is the perfect size for him to handle. The only problem we had which was easily fixed by a friend who plays guitar is that one of the strings became loose after playing around with it the first time.I would recommend this for any young wannabe guitar player.

1-0 out of 5 stars Agree with all the others - do not buy this toy
Wow, was I surprised when I got on-line to purchase a new mike stand, which broke almost immediatly, only to find everybody else had the exact same problem.

What a rip off.

Also, poor quality sound - too scratchy and loud.I really wish we'd read the reviews on this toy before buying (we saw it in the store and fell so in love with it we bought it before doing our homework).Mistake!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed in the Quality
My daughter received this toy for Christmas. It was great for 4 months -- she loved it.Then it just died. When I called for assistance I was told that the warranty was only for 90 days and I'd have to pay to have the toy shipped to them as well as any parts/labor etc.(approximately 10 - 15 dollars for the part alone)

I can't believe that they feel they (Kidstation -- not Toys r Us) can charge close to $40 for a toy they can only warrant for 90 days.Shouldn't we be getting better quality?

For as much as my daughter loves this toy, it's killing me to not get her another one but I refuse to buy anything else manufactured by Kidstation.

And on top of the poor quality of the toy -- the customer service rep was rude as well.

2-0 out of 5 stars Breaks too easily
I too have experienced almost all of the same problems as the other reviewers. Our microphone is useless on the stand, it creates horrible feedback and can only be used if not anywhere near keyboard.Which is good since the microphone stand broke off. Also the keyboard itself can be used attached to the legs as a piano or off as a keyboard.Mine keeps coming off the legs with even a little pressure from my 22 lb 2 year old. Also the supports at the bottom of the legs come out so easily that my daughters take them out all the time.So much that they have cracked the plastic around the holes they fit into. This piano also has a default volume that is way too loud. When first turned on you have to adjust the volume by pushing the down arrow several times to reach an "acceptible" volume.Overall, I think this toy is very unsatisfactory. For something that is meant to be for a preschooler, it is definately not sturdy enough.Even if your child has the softest of touch. My kids still enjoy playing with it, but I am definately not happy with it overall. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars It's just like Murray's guitar.
This musical red instrument looks just like Murray's guitar from Playhouse Disney and Wiggly movies.

It plays different songs whenever you press their button and sing along with the Wiggles' voices recorded. That's why I love it a lot.

You can "Play your Guitar with Murray" any time.

5-0 out of 5 stars My little musicians love this guitar...
This is a complete crowd pleaser. My boys are HUGE fans of the WIGGLES and they each receieved this guitar as a gift when they were about 3 years old and it's still on their Top 10 list of "favorite toys in the house"!It really has helped them (not that they really needed the help) to come out of their shells and take on a role of entertaining friends and family that come to visit. The guitars are very durable as I've seen them used in my household as a bat and weapon (yikes!) -- nothing has broken yet! There are quite a few of their favorite songs on it and the same buttons keep being used over and over again. If you can stand the repetition of the music and noise I suggest this for the little music lovers in your house.

5-0 out of 5 stars Gotta Get Another One
I bought this toy for my 20 month old son for Christmas, and he loves it!!!! The only problem that I have now is that I have to go out and buy another one for my four year old so that the "It's mine" "it's mine" fights will stop. This was the favorite gift under the tree and I thought my four year was too big for it.SHE LOVES IT, TOO!!It has good sound quality, it is durable (already taking a beating in the tug of war), it is just the right size, and all around a great toy.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! ... Editorial Review

Simply put the Move ‘n Groove Dance Mat on the floor and let your child dance the day away. The keyboard makes six different notes, the instrument icons play various tunes, and when the picture of Barney is stepped on, he will issue instructions to step on the blue footprint, step on the red footprint, etc., and even congratulate the child when she steps on the correct spot. The furry, inflatable Barney figure spins around when music plays, an effect that would be better if he didn't tilt weirdly to one side. Nonetheless, Barney is still a nice bonus with this mat since, being removable, he is a fun toy in his own right. True, the combinations of things you can do may be limited, but the physical and interactive qualities of this toy are a big plus. --David Stoesz ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars TRICIA LYNNE MAY
I LOVE BARNEY HE IS THE BEST EVER AND MAKES MY DAY EVERYDAY INCLUDING SUNDAY GUYS SERIOUSLY INCLUDING SUNDAY!

1-0 out of 5 stars How to stabilize barney....
ok - if you've made the mistake of adding this to your toy collection you can try stabilizing Barney by sliding a pair of chopsticks down the right side of his right leg (but not all the way down - just under his arm to about ankle length)and a little baby spoon (or something that size that won't puncture the inflatable plastic) down the inside of his right leg. You still have to keep him inflated to the max and he still tilts to one side slightly. We will see how long the interest level lasts with our one year old and our 3 year old and then we will toss it!
One other piece of advice - just accept the fact that there is nothing that "teaches" dancing here - there is no instructional foot stepping directions from Barney. He just asks to find things on the mat - not to any song or rythym or any pattern at all. So, this could have some "fun" value if your child loves jumping around on the mat with Barney to all the music and sounds the mat makes when danced on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for a range of ages!
I have 4 kids from 1 to 6 and they all loved this toy!We haven't had any problems with it falling over. The only problem I have noticed is that it seems to go through batteries if you don't turn it off when not is use.I think this is a great item especially for the price! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy but out of tune
After taking my 8 month old to a friends house where he loved their kids xylophone and especially the full sized piano we got this toy for our son.

Yes the strings are short and a little one doesn't know how to hold the mallet handles on their own, but I can position the mallets in his hands properly and he does just fine. They are just long enough to be able to strike all the surface of each bar with the end just fine.

It is very sturdy. My 8mo old likes to bang on it pretty hard and so far we've had no problems with it coming apart.

My big gripe with it, though, is that two of the bars are clearly out of tune (the 3rd and 8th from the lowest pitch). It looks like they just cut the bars using an evenly increasing size rather than properly sizing them to match a major diatonic scale.I know this probably isn't a big deal, but I'm really sensitive to things being in tune, and besides do you want your developing kid to get used to a musical scale that's out of tune?

1-0 out of 5 stars Xylophone frustrating
We bought the caterpillar version and while the piano part is cute, the xylophone the very, very frustrating for my 3 and 1 1/2 year olds.I realize the strings are short to prevent them from getting wrapped around their necks, but these are so short that even if I hold the mallet perfectly, I can barely reach the end bars. For a toddler, who doesn't always hold the mallet the correct way, this toy is very frustrating.
Even if you hold it just right to reach the furthest note, the head of the mallet is so huge that it hits the sides of the instrument and the note sounds dull and not pretty at all.
This toy causes more frustration than pleasure.

4-0 out of 5 stars Despite mixed reviews...
We bought this toy for my 19 month old son for Christmas and he loves it. I agree that the strings are a little short but I guess that's how life goes. He doesn't have any problems with the keys...toys are so individual as far as kids go. Some kids will love it and some kids won't look at it twice. He hasn't broken it yet and it seems pretty tough, so I guess we'll cross our fingers. I think that it was totally worth it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool toy
I picked this up for my 22 month old son on clearence for $7.50 at a KB toy store in our mall.He loves it.Plays with it everyday.Thank goodness for the 3 different volume settings because he takes it everywhere.I think it was the best $7.40 I ever spent. He has been a little slow on his talking but this has him singing the words all day.I have to admit that the on and off switch is a bit frustrating for him because of it's location. But he is learning to deal with it.

2-0 out of 5 stars on/off button is a turn off!!!
My 17 month old loves the Wiggles, so I thought the microphone would be perfect. But whoever designed this toy really wasn't thinking and I can't believe it made it to the assembly line this way.The ON/OFF botton is right where you hold it. My daughter is consently turning it off by accident and gets very frustrated. I will say it is durable, she has thrown it a million times and it has held up. I also bought her the guitar, I would give that 5 stars and suggest it instead of the microphone.

5-0 out of 5 stars fun, fun,fun!!!!!
We just got this toy for my son, who is 16 months old. It was on Clearance at Walmart, for only 7 bucks so I thought why not? I am SO happy I purchased it I would have paid full price in a heart beat. I agree with some other reviews that the "pattern" for the buttons can be a little tricky, but my son loves it. There are several songs in it and you can either sing along with it, not sing at all or sing without the songs. And for the parents sake, there is 3 volume controls!!! Love that one.
Overall is a great toy, and it stands on its own too. A great buy for lots of fun. ... Read more

Editorial Review

No one is likely to mistake this for a pro drum kit, but for some casual messing around, it provides a pretty good time. There are five pads to whack away at, each producing a different sound (high hat, snare, tom-tom, etc.),a foot pedal-activated bass drum, plus a number of canned rhythms (rock, funk, and so on) you can turn on and off with the keypad. The sound comes out of either the tinny but serviceable speaker or the included pair of headphones. The drum stand is easily snapped together, and connecting all the various cables is a color-coded, self-explanatory affair. There are, however a couple of egregious design flaws that detract from the drum kit: There is no power adapter, so the four C batteries will need to be replaced with some regularity, and some of the pads at times fail to produce any sound at all. --David Stoesz ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Difficult for kids to use and operate
Our kids found this toy to be very difficult to operate and understand all the buttons. The noises are very muffled and it often doesn't operate properly. We've been unhappy with this purchase.

1-0 out of 5 stars piece of crap (a blunt description but accurate)
Like the other reviewer, Santa brought this for one of my kids.It worked partially for the first hour.I say partially, because I had to turn the volume up the whole way to get any sound at all, and then it was a bit too loud.Turning the volume down any less than "all the way up" resulted in no sound at all. After the first hour it wigged out even more and my wife had to perform some kind of voodoo to get to work.Later it stopped altogether. It's not a battery problem. It's going back to the store (Toys R Us).It was a neat concept with all of the pre-programmed rhythms and tunes that kids could play along with, but unfortunately, this is one toy in which I think in trying to keep the cost of manufacturing as low as possible, the quality and durability fell below any practical minimum standard. My summary statement on this toy is that it's a piece of crap.I will say that the kid's electric guitar that Santa brought for one of my other kids seems to be pretty nice.I find myself playing with it too.Now as for the other reviewer trying to explain to his/her child about why Santa brought a broken toy, my advice is to explain that Santa "outsourced" some of the toy making to the Bangalore Toy Company and this is the result.Santa will take care of that toymaker! Okay, just kidding; nothing against outsourcing.Just thought I'd have some topical political fun...really.:-)
It was really poor design and quality control requirements provided by some idiotic American toy manufacturer at kgiproducts.com.I like Amazon, but you might want to avoid any toys from that KGI manufacturer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Santa delivers broken toys???
Yes, Santa delivered to my 4 year old son this toy. It worked for less than 5 minutes. Then no sound, no drumrolls, no fun.The speaker still works - he can hear himself out of the microphone, but the drums and other sound effects no longer work. Now two days after Christmas and Toys-R-Us does not have these in stock and my son is asking why Santa brought him broken toys.Explain that one! ... It's totally Barbie, but even a big girl would want this clock radio. Modern, stylish, and completely functional, it looks great on a nightstand or study desk. There's also atunable FM radio, so your child can awake to the Top 40 instead of a buzzer if she likes.Coolest features: glowing clock hands, and a clock face that lights up, so girls can see thetime, fiddle with the radio, or have the unit serve as a nightlight in the dark. 1-0 out of 5 stars I can't believe I bought this
Needless to say I ignored the rest of the reviews and took a chance in buying this product because my daughter needed something to wake her up in the morning and loved Barbie. Originally she wanted the bratz alarm clock and I should of got it. The clock can only wake you up by the hour so if you need to wake up at 6:30 you have to set it for 6:00. Sometimes it doesn't go off at all. So the other review is right on that. It only takes batteries which is a total put down as well. It's not worth the [money]they are asking for....sorry Barbie.

5-0 out of 5 stars cute, but accurate??
I bought this in an attempt to help my 8 yr. old become more responsible for getting herself up and ready for school in the morning. It's cute, and not overly "Barbie-ish" (many Barbie products just seem like blatant advertisements, imo). But when it comes to it's effectiveness as an alarm clock, I have my doubts!!The alarm time does not seem to be terribly accurate. We've used it 4 times and each day I reset it earlier because it didn't go off in time. This morning the alarm was set for 7am but still hadn't gone off by 7:25 when I finally came in and just turned the radio on to wake her up (I checked and the clock was set properly; batteries were brand new).It seems to me that a product that is obviously meant to be practical/ educational and not just a toy should be at least *somewhat* accurate!

My other concern is that there is no adapter or plug available -- only 4 AA batteries.I suspect we will have a few late mornings when the batteries start to die as well :P

The price is reasonable, but is comparable with an inexpensive electric alarm clock.I expected it to work like one.If you are purchasing this for practical reasons and not just as a cute toy, a kid's digital alarm clock might be a better alternative.

5-0 out of 5 stars very happy with choice
I was trying to find a clock radio for my daughter that would grow with her.She is now 5 and loves to listen to the radio. This is easy for her to turn on and off and change the volume etc.Although it turns off in about 30 min. It's alright for her age. (her attention span carries her around the house and it won't stay on forever then.)The sound quality is good, not scratchy or staticy. And it's not so bold with pics on it that it won't last her till age 12 or so when Barbie goes "out of style". ... Editorial Review

It's tempting to say that this tabletop toy piano can make your budding music enthusiast into the next Schroeder. But in fact, it does the Beethoven enthusiast from Peanuts one better. Whereas Schroeder's piano featured only painted-on black keys, the ebonies on this brown piano really play. The piano is non-electronic, creating a sound on its metal tone bars that is refreshingly non-synthetic. It's made of solid wood, adding to the authenticity. The piano features only twenty-five keys in two octaves and it's no substitute for actual musical training or an actual piano. But as an introduction to music and as an inspiration to spark creativity, it's a winner. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

The guitar looks great but when u turn it on u keep hearing a buzzing noise the volume doen not help either. You should buy a real guitar or get one without an internel amp i would have given it a zero if i could. This does not even deserve 1 star

3-0 out of 5 stars Jungle Jamboree Tapsy Turtle
I was disappointed with the product. From the description, I thought the beads would easily move and attract the eye. This does not happen like the reveiw from the manufacturer states. It is constructed well, and every child is different, but my four grandchildren quickly put this toy aside.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love at first sight
I bought this toy (the ladybug version) for my daughter when she was about 5 months old because she grabbed it off the shelf and began pounding on it like a madbaby.I was in a department store at the time, and I thought, "Great!something to keep her occupied."Well, it occupied her so much (for 2 hours) that I kind of had to buy it on my way out.I have no regrets.

The belly of the drum appears to be on a spring and is loaded with electrostatically charged beads that wiggle around with the slightest movement. The result is an impressively loud noise when struck (not too loud and not too annoying). The wiggling beads encourage more banging...as if banging by itself weren't enough fun!

My only complaint is that the strings attached to the mallots aren't too terribly long and greatly restrict a child's movement.I may end up clipping the strings in the future, but in the mean time, my daughter is quite happy tapping out rhythms on her drum. ... Read more

19. Barbie Bike FM Radio

Editorial Review

This pink FM radio, inspired by Barbie, easily attaches to the handlebar of any kids' bike and detaches if walking to the beat--instead of peddling to it--is preferable. Its features include an adjustable volume control, digital channel scanning, on/off dial, reset button, and one small speaker that's camouflaged as a flower. The sound is not stereo quality, of course, but it's more than adequate within 10 feet of the unit. Music can be distracting to a bike-riding kid, especially if she wants to change the channel, so grown-ups should go over safety precautions such as coming to a complete stop before making any adjustments. As well, because the radio is plastic and not waterproof, it's best to take it inside if the bike stays outside overnight. Two AAA batteries are required. --Diane Beall ... Read more

I purchased one for my son and he loves is!We take it everywhere.Lite-weight easy to use. I definately recomend.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy
We purchased this cd player for our child and the music quality was so apalling we had to return it - twice - thinking the first one was a fluke. That says a lot, as we didn't have high standards for the required sound quality (it's for a 21 month old). Our biggest issue was the static that played right along with the music.
