3-0 out of 5 stars Pages stick
My 2 y/o daughter got this for her birthday in August. The first one worked for maybe two weeks then the pages started sticking & stopping in between pages. So, we took it back & the two extra tapes and got all new ones. They lasted for maybe 2 months and now the pages stick again. Also, she really doesn't like to play with it that much. She just pushes all the buttons but doesn't really listen to it much.I really feel this toy needs a lot of work. The pages are dark & hard to see and they stick.Don't waste your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have!!!
This one of the greatest toys ever!We bought this when my daughter was about 18 months old and I bought all the cartridges that go with it so she never gets tired of it.We play with it at home and in the car.It fits perfectly in my daughters lap in the car and it keeps her busy for hours as she scrolls through the screens and sings on the karaoke microphone. The only negative is the lights behind the screen are just too bright for the unlit screen and it takes away from the picture. My sister-in-law bought it for her daughter and called to ask me if hers was broken or something because the screen didn't light up-just those blinking lights behind it!!?!!!This is only a problem in a poorly lit room or in the dark.Overall a great toy when played with in enough light to see the screen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Toy
I spent lots of time researching and reading reviews on this toy and the Little Touch Leap.I finally took my daughter to the store and let her decide. After letting her try out the display, she picked up the Learn through Music and tried to put it in the cart.I decided to go ahead and try this one (although we love Leap Frog items, we already have the my first leap, leap pad plus writing and the leapster). This is a toy that she will sit and play with for 30 minutes. It does get a bit annoying listening to some of the songs, but she just loves it - and that is all that matters. We have had problems with the machine slowing down, and sometimes lights getting dim.. but that usually just means it is time to change the batteries. If it gets alot of play, you need to wipe off the screen too - lots of dirty fingerprints. We have Dora Animals and Barney - both are very loved. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Broke within 1 week
I bought this toy for my son.The toy broke within 1 week. The pond sticks and keeps saying the same thing over and over again, the blocks, when put into place, sing the same song, one short verse, over and over again.Unfortunately, the little birds get stuck saying the same things as well.It wasn't worth the money for us.My son does like the shapes though.Hope this is helpful as a lot of reviews have been for me.Thanks.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another toy my baby loves
My daughter received this when she was 7 and a half months old, and still plays with it every day at over a year old. She lves the bee that circles around- I hear "bzzzzzzz...bzzzzzz...bzzzzzzz" quite often! She also loves to "splash" and hear the numbers (you press the "water" and the toy counts up to ten, one number at a time, each time you press it)....she also loves pressing the birds and hearing the baby and mommy bird talk to each other- they each say 3 phrases. You can also switch from learning mode to music mode.

My baby plays with this toy a lot and the batteries seem to last a long time for all that she plays with it, I'm not replacing batteries all that often. She likes this toy better than some other ones that are bigger and do more amazing things.

It seems like at over a year old, she is going to continue to play with this toy for awhile, so that gets the Seal of Approval from me, like I always say, read my other reviews, I have a Big Thing about getting my money's worth out of toys, and skipping over toys that will lose baby's interest in a short period of time. I like that my baby has played with this toy every day for 5 months and still loving it. For example, she played with her Dancing Bandstand for about a week before she got bored with it, and never goes to it any more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Toy with lasting value!
I got this toy when my baby could sit up and boy, did she love it! She smacked that water so many times, she couldn't get enough it. She liked to pull out the "flowers" and bite them, bang them together, throw them, you name it.

She then learned to walk shortly after buying it and I thought the toy would get no more use. But now she has learned to put the shapes back into the holes and loves to dance to the music.

It is also so sturdy, she sometimes picks it up and walks with it. And we've only changed the batteries once in 5 months. LOVE IT! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy for Jewish children
My 2 1/2 year old daughter received this toy last night for the second night of Hanukkah. She had to fight with her 5 1/2 year old brother to play with it!It's a very sweet playset for any Jewish child. The details are fantastic, I especially love the latkes on the plates.Little People toys are always great and this toy lived up to the Little People reputation.I was going to order a few more for gifts for nieces and nephews but I was saddened to see Amazon is no longer stocking this item, hopefully they will get this toy again next year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great preschool toy!
Bought this for my 3 year old last year, and my 18 month old loves playing with the "peoples".Very unique, and great to see something aimed at Jewish children to counter all of the Christmas toys. Bought other sets for my son's preschool teachers and for Hanukkah gifts. The response was fantastic.Even my sons grandmother saw it and tracked it down through a fischer price customer service number!. A great toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't go wrong!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Every Princess needs one!
My little girl got this six month ago when she was a year and a half old and it is still her favorite toy!I have to admit I love her "pin-cess" mirror too!**Helpful Hint**I have found that rechargable batteries last much longer in this toy, I have to change the batteries much less often than I did.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great toy!
My two year old daughter really likes this mirror. She plays with it once or twice a week.Which is more than most of her toys. She really enjoys doing her hair while looking in the mirror.

4-0 out of 5 stars This toy is truly magical!
Our 3 year old adores this toy. It's incredibly magical and cool. The faces of the princesses light up on the mirror when she pushes the button. It's very neat. The only problem with this toy is that you have to replace the batteries in it, OFTEN.It might run out of juice fast because it takes a lot of battery power to run it in general. My other theory is that my daughter doesn't remember to turn it off every time and it runs out of battery power quickly because of that.Anyway, if your kid loves Disney Princesses, I highly recommend this for it's coolness factor. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun and Very Durable!!
My father bought this for my daughters first birthday. The age recommendation said it was for a little older of a child but she just kept pointing to it even when we tried to distract her attention to something else. There are no small pieces and the cartridges are large and durable so I don't think it is a safety concern for small children. She is 18 months now and does not understand the game concept or microphone just yet. However, she loves to push the arrows to advance the pages and dance to the music that it plays. We have had the toy for six months now and have had no problems. I have not even changed the batteries yet!! It continues to be one of her favorite toys and I know she has years before she will outgrow it making it well worth the cost.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality!
My daughter loves this machine. We have had ir for almosr a year now and it is great. She plays with it everyday, and loves both the Dora and the Blues Clues. My daughter is two and it has held up to her toddler behavior! She has dropped it down the stairs used to jump off of, and the darn thing still works great. The volume is a bit loud but you can adjust the volume to loud or not so loud. All in all a great toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Toy .... Better Than Little Touch Leappad
We purchased this toy after having no success or satisfaction with the Little Touch Leappad. My daughter will be two next month and she plays with this toy every day. It is easy for her to use and navigate between the screens. We leave it on the low setting and it isn't annoying but the louder setting we avoid at all costs. You navigate through the different screens by pushing the back or forward arrow buttons. It has a touch screen and on each screen asks your child different things and responds to watch they touch. When it reaches the last screen it automatically rewinds to the beginning. It plays when touched and will stop after your child stops interacting with it. It came on vacation with us and was a definite trip saver, however we didn't use it on the plane so as not to annoy anyone. It worked great in the hotel room and in the rental car especially when we drove 3 hours into Orlando. It has been dropped a few times and it is still going strong. I've changed the batteries once and we've had it for almost two months. We also purchased the Elmo cartridge but this is my daughters' favorite, even though she LOVES Elmo. The only thing I don't like is the microphone. You press the button and speak into it and it magnifies your voice alittle bit. It would've been nicer if you could record your voice and play it back. The only thing my daughter uses it for is to drag the machine around. The built in handle gets no use. You have to insert the cartridge into the slot on top and it locks in place. My daughter figured out how to take them out so she does switch them back and forth. When there is no cartridge in the machine it still plays music and lights up when touched. it also cleans easily. I wipe it down with a damp paper towel. This is an excellent toy for toddlers and you can get it with any of their favorite characters. My daughter will go back to it time and time again throughout the day and I think the only other toy that gets more use are her care bears which she carries around everywhere.

A soothing alternative to a wind-up nighttime musical toy, this softplush sleeping Pooh, accompanied by his best friend Piglet, can be placed in acorner of the crib and controlled by remote. Playing the music from a distancemeans no more sneaking in to rewind a toy and possibly disturb the baby. Pooh isdressed in a blue nightcap and snuggles on a small pillow, which is a plasticmusic unit covered with cotton. It has a soft flashing light inside and there isan on/off switch underneath. When pressed, Pooh's familiar voice sings alullaby. The blue plastic remote activates one of three choices--soft, tinklingclassical music, a Pooh song, or chirping birds and nature sounds. Parents willneed to decide if the hard plastic pillow unit is a safe choice for their child. The unit comes with three AA batteries, but three more are required for theremote. --Marianne Painter ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My 14 month old still enjoys it...
We bought this before our son was born and use it almost every day still, even at 14 months old.The remote doesn't work very well for us and sometimes it takes a while to manually turn the music off but overall, this is a great product. We even bring it with us when we travel as a family. We love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy and soother
We bought this for our daughter when she was 3 months old.She is 22 months, still loves Pooh, and it still helps her go to sleep.During this time, I have memorized "Pooh's Lullabee", which is featured in "The Tigger Movie".When I started singing this song to her the other night, she started looking for Pooh.Shortly after getting it I had to remove the music box because she was swinging Pooh around and I didn't want her to hurt herself, actually when I tried to put the box back in Pooh she cried. She loves to hold the music box and will not let it go any farther than the instrumental version of "Pooh's Lullabee".She pushes the button herself and when I hear the nature sounds I know she is asleep.I put this as educational because I let her play with the remote and she is starting to learn that Pooh causes him to sing, the bird is the nature sounds, and the music note is the other songs. She also has figured out that if she puts her hand over the speaker the volume decreases. She still cuddles up with Pooh and Piglet while listening to the music, and having the music box separate allows me to take it out of her crib without removing Pooh so she can't accidentally start him in her sleep. As far as the durability, I am very impressed and extremely pleased because she is not easy on toys.My biggest complaint would be my TV remote sets Pooh off only because when she hears him she has to have him.I am sad that Fisher-Price no longer manufactures this.

1-0 out of 5 stars No Longer Made

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good toy.
over all this is a good toy. I only had one problem. the arms and legs can be difficult to move at times.

3-0 out of 5 stars Elmo's stuck
We really enjoyed him, but at times he is stuck in the same mode.or just repeats ELMO LOVES TO PRETEND, until your frustrated and give up. My daughter loved him when she was little she is 2 now, and not to interested in this Elmo anymore.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Toy
My oldest son received this Elmo when he was 1yr. - he is now 3.5 yrs.and he and his 9 mos. older brother play with it together. It does take some practice to get the doll in the proper position and if you repeatedly press his hand he can get stuck on a phrase, but we just give him a "rest" if that happens. The baby just cracks up at Elmo and loves to try to chew on his eyes and my older boy can now position Elmo without any help. Elmo has also held up well - we have (the adults) have walked on him, my son used to throw him (trying to help him fly), and he has had other assorted accidents - but has really held up well, and we haven't even had to change the batteries too often. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great shape learner!
This item was purchased for my daughter when she was one and she loved to make the music go, but did nothing for her educationally...until a few months later when we started going over and over her shaped and colors and now at 22 months she can pull out all the shapes and place them in the correct slots perfectly. She is really rough on toys and she has thrown this and dropped it and nothing has gone wrong.Defintely recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars Will become a favorite and STAY that way
I love this toy because it has stayed fun WAY longer than other toys he started playing with at the same time (at about 6 months). Those other toys are all now in the "Outgrown" box, but not this one! The shape sorter keeps getting MORE interesting - not less. It's been one of my son's favorites for over a year, if you can believe that! And, it has a switch to adjust the volume, a feature that most parents love. Here's why it stays fun for such a long time:
- At 6 months my son lovedmaking the music play by sticking his hand in the center hole. He also loved pushing the shapes through after we set them in their holes. (I have to agree with the other reviewers that the blue square is a bit hard to push through. It seems to have loosened up over the last year, though.)
- Soon, he figured out that pushing the button inside the shape gave him a "ta-da" sound. (Great fun!)
- At 12 months he got a big kick out of dropping the shapes in the center hole, then shaking them out.
- By 14 months, he was manipulating the simpler shapes (circle, star, etc.) into the right holes.
- At 20 months, he's now learning the colors, and has finally figured out how to rotate the toughest shape (the heart) just right to get it in.

All this out of a deceptively simple toy! It will keep your child HAPPY and learning for a long time. Totally worth your money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great shape sorter
I bought this toy when my daughter was 6 months old and she has learned over the past few months what this toy can do. We think this toy is great, she is now 8 months old and will sit and play with it for a long time. She loves, when I arrange the shapes in their slots, she then pushes them in one by one and looks to me for praise in between each one.I, too, however, must complain about the buttons inside hindering the pushing of the shapes in.The blue one in particular is hard to push, some of the time. This is a great learning toy for shapes, colors, music, lights, entertainment etc. This toy is worth every penny I paid for it.Great gift for a baby 6 months plus. ... Editorial Review

This musical toy, from the Fisher-Price Sparkling Symphonycollection, makes almost any parent feel as if there is a littleprodigy in the house. The collection of five colorful creatures, eachplaying an instrument, is so bright and engaging even you won't be ableto keep your hands off it. With the flip of the on-off switch (whichhas two volume levels--hurrah!), you are treated to the soothing, classical masterpieces of Beethoven, Mozart, and others. The fun andlearning come into play when your child picks up each of the animalsand the song changes a bit. Your child actually controls the melody byadding or taking away the various members of this five-piece symphony. The bright green hippo can do a solo, but the song sounds muchdifferently than when he "plays" with giraffe, elephant, or the wholecrew. There are three nodes of play--voice, instrument, or both--andbaby can switch among them by pressing one of the three big buttons onthe front piece. The animals themselves are large, easy-to-grasp piecesthat almost beg for you to pick them up and begin. The flashing lightsbeneath each animal add an element of surprise for growing babies.Requires three AA batteries, which are included. --MelissaWilson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I bought this for my 4 month old
She loved it lights. She could not keep her eyes off it and as she got older she played with constantly. The music is soothing, and the adjustable volume is great to.It is durable and easy for little fingers to get a hold of.There are so many combinations of music to make just by taking some of the parts off and putting some on.Needless to say she is 2 now and still plays with it.Great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cute toy...not so great durability...
My son got this for his second Christmas. I loved it....for about 2 months. After that it just shorted out. Slowly but surely it stopped lighting up and eventually even quit playing music. After reading the other reviews, I think we must have purchased a faulty item. It is a really cute toy and the music is much better and easier on the parents ears (as are all the Sparkling Symphonies toys) than most other toys.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a cool toy!
My 10 month old loves music. When this came out of the box, she just sat and danced. Then she figured how to take the characters out and whack on the toy. Still, very enjoyable. We have to constantly remind her nearly 7 year old sister who the toy belongs to. When we have to put the characters back in (not a good concept for the littlest ones), we usually spend a little extra time re-arranging things to see what happens.
All that and a great price, too.I highly recommend this toy. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars BORING!!!!! Don't waste the money!
I really thought this gym would be cool when a friend got it for the baby, and it was for about 30 seconds. It only plays one song and the toys are unamusing and difficult for baby to access. My son liked it for a little bit but soon he was bored and irritated with the same playing over and over. Now that I have heard how breakable the toy is, it will be taking a trip to the dump.

4-0 out of 5 stars good for the baby @ 3month old
my baby njoys this toy and dont cry when we keep him out of Lap. Tries to make hand and leg movements to catch and kick the hanging toys.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this
It is so disappointing!! It only has ONE song and it's kind of like a music box type sounding song...it chimes. And the song is less than 10 seconds long and then it just repeats OVER and OVER. There are only 3 lights that flash and they are just little squares blinking. It's not entertaining to my baby and it was a waste of 30.00.. maybe for 15 it might be worth it but I'm not even sure of that.

And the "play mat" is not a mat at all... it's an extreamly sheer peice of fabric.

We gave this to my son for his first birthday. It's his favourite toy.He has so many electronic toys we decided to go with the good old fashioned long lasting toys for his birthday. This one was his favourite. He carries it around baning the drum and blowing in both the whistles. He can't quite blow one end of the whistle, but that doesn't bother him at all.He loves the fact that he can do the other end of it.This was a good toy for him.As for educational, I think that there are many things to discover on it.For such a small toy it has a lot of intrinsic value. He can bang, shake, tilt, rattle, whistle, and wizz this one man band to his heart's content and it will always be interesting.even my four year old daughter likes to play with it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good in Theory, but...
the drum hardly makes any noise at all -- and the drumsticks (while safe) are attached, so my son had a hard time stretching them over to beat on the drum. The whistle is a little hard to blow, too.A great idea that kind of lost it when they made this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars My ten-month old loves this toy!
My son was given this toy for Christmas. He loves to sit and play with it. It has many different parts that make different sounds. The whistle has two different ends with two different sounds. One end is more difficult to make noise with, but he loves to hear his mom or dad blow the whistle. The belly of the one man band is a drum.My son loves to bang on things and this drum makes just the right amount of noise so that he loves it but I don't get a headache. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This is the worst toy ever!
I got this for my 6 month old son as a christmas gift. It's been 3 weeks and it already lost all tone.It sounds like a dying frog.I don't think my son has been any harder on it than any other toy, I just think this is an incredibly poorly made piano.

5-0 out of 5 stars MY SON LOVED THIS TOY
I got this toy when my son was 3mths old and he adored this toy. He still plays with it, and he's now 12mnths old. He loves the music and the keys are big enough to push on his own.It had many melodies and they had a lot of familiar songs. This is a great toy for a child.

3-0 out of 5 stars Didn't hold daughter's attention
We first saw this piano at a playdate. My daughter (7 months at the time) loved it, so I went out and bought it.However, after two times of playing with it at home, she is no longer interested in it.It is a cute piano, but seems overpriced, and seems to get old fast. At 9 months now, she never even gives it a second glance. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Daughter Loves This
My daughter got this for Christmas last year (she was 15 months)!!She still loves playing with it.It isn't one of those musical toys that you dread because it gets on your nerves too.It took her a little bit to figure out the buttons and which ones to push, but once she did, she went wild!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Super-dee-duper!
My little guy got this toy for Christmas last year and now at two, he loves it even more. He loves to dance to the songs and Mommy plays the sound effects. There is a high/low volume switch in the back and it has survived a couple of ceramic tile drops. I would highly recommend this toy to any littly Barney lover out there. Well worth the price...(I would have paid more.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Really good!
I bought this toy in Argentina after thinking a lot if I had to or not, because for us it is REALLY expensive, and I have to say that it was a very good decision. The toy is cute, my 2 years old daughter loves it and I like the songs very much too. It works perfect since we bought it and she can be playing hours with it. She likes to ask me witch song I like her to play, and we have a lot of fun playing toguether with it! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Parents who responded to piano lessons by kicking the instrument mayappreciate this toy as much as a baby will. Two ties hang it from the side ofthe crib, five "keys" on the soft cover conceal five buttons, and colored shapesabove each "key" light up when they are hit or kicked. In one mode, the five"keys" play individually, like piano keys; in another, they play a medley of 10tunes; in a third, they sound out animal names, numbers, and other concepts thatare keyed to the pattern on the cover. The Kick 'n' Learn Piano includes anon/off switch, auto off, and high/low volume control. Requires three AAbatteries. --Richard Farr ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good
I think that this is a great toy because it gives babies a chance to have fun, hear interesting sounds, and learn piano!!!:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent toy that grows w/ your child
I read a great review about this product in Parents so I had to check it out for myself. My daughter who was 4 months at the time I purchased this, absolutely loves this toy. It has 3 different levels of interaction: music, animal noises, and counting/alphabet. She will wake up in the middle of the night and start kicking away, and if it's turned off - she'll actually get mad that the music doesn't come on! I initially thought the price was a bit high for a "crib toy" but it's worth every penny!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Too Loud!
This toy is cute and it has held up well but the music is so LOUD and very annoying.90% of our baby's toys play music and I usually love the cute music from my son's toys but this is almost unbearable...listen to it before you buy it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars gannon loves this little dog
My 19mo. old got this as a gift, and he loves it. He learned to say puppy, hum the bingo song and bark. Well worth the money

5-0 out of 5 stars a fun little "pal"
My daughters love this toy. They pull it all over the house. The dog got misplaced and we had to get another one.She treats it like a real dog. She feeds it and even plays on the ground with it. My two older kids just adore this toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars My two year old's constant companion
This is a great toy!My daughter got this dog a little over a year ago and it has been everywhere with her.She takes it on rides in the car and is always asking if we can take her "doggie" on a walk.He does have a slight tendency to tip over, but this hasn't been a problem for us, our daughter is just as happy pulling him down the hallway sideways as upright. Also, we are currently considering buying a new Snoopy (because our daughter is upset due to the fact that Snoopy has finally lost his ability to speak), but I can't really complain too much about the quality because this has occured after more than a year, during which Snoopy has been through many tramatic experiences, including being dropped, falling from our car on several occasions and even repeatedly being swung through the air by his leash. It is still a great toy even with out the voice and we just love it!! ... Editorial Review

One 3-month old baby has the power to rock the world of four bears on the Teddy Bear Carousel. Just one push of the bright red button sets these teddy bears spinning inside their plastic domes. Once babies get the hang of this, they'll delight in banging on the button repeatedly, making the bears spin faster and faster in a blur of motion. The bright colors (red, yellow, green, and blue), the movement, and the rattling noises will help focus babies' attention on the toy. Aiming for, and connecting with, the red button will aid in hand-eye coordination. Luckily, the sturdy plastic construction can take whatever babies dish out! --Wendy Slotboom ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My 6 month old loves this
My son gets physical therapy 2 times a week, and the therapist brings this toy with her every time. Whenever he gets tired or cranky, she taps the top of this toy, and my son is automatically entranced with it! He's still not bored with it, first was shown it when he was 2 months. Now he taps it himself ...it doesn't take much to activate it so its not a frustrating toy for a baby, and he gets so happy when he sees he did it himself.Sometimes the simpler toys are better than all the busier more complicated toys are ... I am very happy to find this toy, because now he can have one of his own. I highly recommend this toy. ... Read more
