Editorial Review

This is an activity toy that will get used, thanks to its multitude of entertaining, developmentally challenging functions; and it has a clean, happy design that'll please parents, too. The plastic tray has four shapes that can be removed from their respective holes and replaced. Each shape has an adorable, simple picture of a farm animal. When the shape is placed correctly, the animal can be pushed to sound a realistic "moo" or "oink." There's a musical function, too, where a song is played instead of an animal noise. The shapes themselves make cute rattles when they're removed. And if that weren't enough, when you flip the thing over, there's a selection of the old reliable baby-amusers: a rotary dial, a mirror, and a line of beads. The whole affair is topped off with a nice carrying handle. Highly recommended. --Claire Dederer ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL TOY!!!
My mom bought this toy for my 13 month old daughter. She absolutely LOVES it!She loves pushing the animals to hear the sounds they make, taking the shapes out and shaking them (they rattle), and turning it over to play with the items on the other side.It entertains her for a good 30 minutes, which is quite long for a 13 month old.I read that some people were not as impressed with it, but I have not had 1 problem.I would recommend this toy to everyone!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as great as the reviews would have you believe
I was surprised that this toy got such good reviews, because I am not at all impressed with it. I thought that both of my sons (12 mos. and almost 3 years) would enjoy it, but neither has spent much time with it, despite enjoying other shape sorters - plus, one loves music, the other loves animals/making animal sounds. The shapes are hard to get out, and this frustrates my 1-year-old son. And I was disappointed that the music doesn't play when the shape is inserted; you have to press the shape after putting it in to get the music to play (or bypass that, and push the little button to get the music without even doing the shapes).

5-0 out of 5 stars My toddler approves!
My son is 15 months now and has played with this toy for several months. It has helped teach him animal names and sounds, and he enjoys the music it plays. He also likes the shape sorting, as well as the activities on the other side (a clicking wheel, etc.). We take this toy with us on trips because it provides good entertainment value for its size. ... Designed for very young children, this is a charming piano withfour large, easy-to-depress square keys in green, blue, red, and orange. When the keys are played, the metal xylophone-style strips on top of thepiano produce sweet chiming sounds. This little piano will enchant yourchild, teach basic colors, and demonstrate a few fundamentals of music.Surprisingly, the notes are delightful even when played all at once--aunique quality in a toy piano. --Sandy Hirsch ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Its fun..
Shes loves it and still plays with it at 2 - she sings along

5-0 out of 5 stars favorite toy!
This was our daughter's favorite toy ever since she was about 3-4 months old. She is now 9 months and still enjoys it. She bangs on it all day long. Her entire little body would start to jump up and down when she would see it on the floor!

5-0 out of 5 stars Musical fun, builds motor skills
My kids really enjoy music, and both can play with this toy. Older babies and toddlers can sing along while Mom or Dad play songs that kids will recognize, and babies can bang away to their hearts' content. We often have music time in our house, and we now have two pianos so each of my daughters can play. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Jungle Jamboree Tapsy Turtle
I was disappointed with the product. From the description, I thought the beads would easily move and attract the eye. This does not happen like the reveiw from the manufacturer states. It is constructed well, and every child is different, but my four grandchildren quickly put this toy aside.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love at first sight
I bought this toy (the ladybug version) for my daughter when she was about 5 months old because she grabbed it off the shelf and began pounding on it like a madbaby.I was in a department store at the time, and I thought, "Great!something to keep her occupied."Well, it occupied her so much (for 2 hours) that I kind of had to buy it on my way out.I have no regrets.

The belly of the drum appears to be on a spring and is loaded with electrostatically charged beads that wiggle around with the slightest movement. The result is an impressively loud noise when struck (not too loud and not too annoying). The wiggling beads encourage more banging...as if banging by itself weren't enough fun!

My only complaint is that the strings attached to the mallots aren't too terribly long and greatly restrict a child's movement.I may end up clipping the strings in the future, but in the mean time, my daughter is quite happy tapping out rhythms on her drum. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Ours Broke Easily
My daughter got this for Christmas this year and almost immediately pulled off the top half of the Greg character on the keyboard. In their defense, none of the other characters have come off so we will try to return this in case it was an isolated incident.Other than that, she seems to like it.She also received the accordian and LOVES it so I would recommend that over the keyboard.

4-0 out of 5 stars Christmas Gift
My 23-month old son received this toy for Christmas and it was one of his favorites. He played with it off and on for hours. Woke up this morning and ran right to it. It isn't very educational but the fact that he recognizes the songs from the show makes it more fun. It's not too bulky so it's something we can take in the car. Overall, we love it and would recommend it to any Wiggles fan ;-)

4-0 out of 5 stars Not all that inspiring
I like the handle to carry this keyboard around, but it is kind of awkward for little ones to use unless it is sitting on a table or other flat object. The characters will set off when they are moved and you get a jumbled mass of sound coming out of it if it is resting against something that causes the characters to be pushed in all at once. I know my 2 year old does not like to be sitting still, so using this on a table is not really an option for her. And because of the height of the characters, it is not a good "bring along" toy since it doesn't fit in a bag well.

For the same price, go with the Wiggles Guitar. It has many more buttons and songs and they can carry it around and play it at the same time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaw!!
This was the best gift for his first birthday and my 3 year loves it too.Now six months later they still play with this daily. The oldest likes to act out farm stories and the youngest loves to play with the tractor, build with the blocks and dance to the tunes.Very versatile toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves this toy
I purchased this toy for my daughter when she was 9 months old.She is now a year old and has loved this toy from the first day she got it.When she first got the toy she would pull the animals off of their little stools. Now she pushes the buttons to make sounds. She has also started pushing the tractor around the house. She enjoys listening to the animal sounds and music.I don't think she will get tired of this toy for some time since she still needs to learn how to build the blocks and pretend play.It is still the first toy she grabs when she wakes up in the morning. This is a great toy and my husband and I enjoy it as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2 year old son LOVES this

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny Toddler's Delight
My daughter had been fascinated with this toy since she was 11 months old, so I would say this is very good toy for toddler's beginning with 12 months not 24.As a matter of fact Boohbah became one of her first words. Now 2 months later, she is still fascinated with it and this is one of the few toys she runs to first thing in the morning, even from the other room where she can't see it (the reason we know she runs to this one because she can say it!

The Boohbah itself didn't impress me that much when I first saw it at local KBToys, the only reason I bought it, I found it much cheaper on ebay, and my baby was already enjoying watching "boohbahs" on tv, so I gave it a try.So far, I am happy I did.
I agree there is little educational value in it, except learning to move as shown, but toys are for babies' fascination not just for education and also to be played with, and this toy fullfills it's purpose. Our little one can play with it up to 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day.I think it is enough to make it worth trying.
Also it is very durable, it was kicked, thrown and hit numerous times, and I was afraid that moving mechanims would break; they still work fine.Boohbah dances - my baby claps her hands and shakes her torso and head.
There is no explanation, but some adults in our family like this too :-)

It's just plain entertaining fun!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!
I wish I had read the reviews BEFORE purchasing this piece of junk! When my husband and I saw it in the store, it looked so cute, and we loved the demo.Well, once we bought it and got it home and out of the box, the real play was just as short as the demo! You literally have to keep squeezing his foot every 10 seconds to keep him going.I don't know about your kid, but mine refuses to do this. She'd rather just ignore the Boohbah and play with something more entertaining.Plus, even when you do press the button every 10 seconds, he basically does the same thing over and over. Not much variety at all!Buyer beware - RIP OFF!

3-0 out of 5 stars Booooooo-bah!
My daughter loves the show and I got them on sale for $10 otherwise would not have bought them, they are super cute and well made but the dancing and music is too short, there is a try me button on the hand but the real button is on the feet that plays longer and different songs and dances but she got so used to the try me button that that is all she uses. ... Editorial Review

Push Along Thomas is a hybrid: he looks like a train but moveslike a car. Based on the character from the book and television seriesThomas the Tank Engine, this plastic locomotive measures 9inches long. Toddlers can practice walking by pushing the extendedhandle to move Thomas along. Fortunately, the long handle isdetachable, so prewalkers can roll him across the floor by gripping thehandle attached to the roof. Turn on the power switch, give the train agentle push, and hear a short, upbeat song. It requires threebutton-cell batteries to hear the music, but Push Along Thomas can be enjoyedwith or without electricity. --Lauren Bernard ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars No Bubbles
My 2 year old son received this for a birthday gift and loved it at first, but there are very few bubbles that come out of it.After 10 minutes of pushing it around and only getting 5-10 bubbles every minute or so he got frustrated with it and has not played with it since.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute but Handle comes off too easily
This is a cute toy but the handle does come off too easily. My little boy walks but everytime he trys to push this toy the handle the handle comes off.He does like to just play with the thomas on the floor. You can proberbly find something better for the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lasts for a long time!
My son received this toy for his birthday a year ago when he turned one.He was already walking very well (we didn't use it as a "walker") and he loved it.He is about to turn two and he has played with the Push Along Thomas everyday since he got it (both indoors and outside). It is very durable and still looks brand new! The red handle does come off easily but my son quickly learned how to put it back on by himself. Also, we have only had to change the batteries once. This toy is one of the best we have had so far. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars My One-Year-Old Loves This
My son received this for Christmas just before he turned 1 and loves it.The musical instrument plugs are easy for him to insert and change around, and the buttons are easy to push.Though my one-year-old doesn't seem to understand that the instruments can be moved around to play different musical sections, my five-year-old loves to experiment. It's a great toy that is complex enough to entertain several age groups.

The only drawback is that you find the musical instrument plugs all over the house, as mentioned in the other reviews.

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughter Loves It...
I bought this for my daughter who was turning one for her birthday. She loves music, and loves "playing" on the piano. So I though I would give this a try.It is very durable. She has carried it around the house and dropped it a few times. The plugs even made it through the dog's water dish a few times.I have ordered the two expansion packs.I agree that the plugs need a storage system.I have put ours in a basket.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great idea but not as big a hit as I hoped
I bought this toy for my two and three year old.My two year old is nuts about music so I thought she would have a lot of fun changing the sounds and just playing around with it.

The Lego Music Builder plays 4 nice sounding melodies that can be adjusted by switching the instrument peices or using a dial to increase or decrease the tempo. Each port is labelled with harmony, rhythm, etc although you have to look closely to see these. The instrument sounds can be easily changed around by little hands. There is also an add on pack you can buy that has some fun animal noises. But devise some kind of storage system because otherwise you will be discovering the little instrument peices all over the house.

Truthfully, I had more fun and spent more time playing with it than either of my kids.I am hopeful that as they get a little older they will become more interested in playing with it and identifying the sounds different types of instruments make.It proved to be a bit expensive for the amount of time and level of enjoyment it provided in my opinion. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Cute toy, but kind ofloud!
My 9 month old daughter just received this toy as a gift. Toy is very cute and small which is a plus for me, but it is kind of loud and anoying. My daughter loves to chew on the rubber feet when it vibrates. I guess if it entertains them, we can put up with a little sound!

4-0 out of 5 stars Skeeerd! Skeeeeerd!
I thought this toy was so cute, and would pick it up and play with it at the store, but my daughter never showed any interest. She received it for her first birthday, and decided almost immediately that it isn't cute and it isn't fun; instead it is the scariest toy ever! At first she's just run from it, or be sure to walk waaaaay around it if it was sitting out, but now that she's older, she will make a scared face, and run away while yelling "Skeeeered! Skeeeeered!"

I think my kid is probably the exception, though, and I can't give a perfectly cute toy a bad review just because my little one thinks it is is evil.

5-0 out of 5 stars my son's favorite
We bought this for my son when he was 4 months old and now he is one and he hasn't lost interest in this toy.He loves to press the button and make it bark and jiggle. This is the most durable toy I have ever seen, my son flings it at the tile cause he likes to hear it clank against the ground.I keep telling him he's going to break it one day, but it still hasn't broken and honestly I don't think it ever will.He will press the button over and over for an hour straight! He took it to day care one day and it was a big hit! Fisher Price know what kids love! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheap but don't expect too many hours of thrills for baby
I would say that this is a good toy to have around for your little one just as an occasional "giggle-getter". It can be a little frightening since it makes "meow" sounds and vibrates like it has been electrocuted but my infant seemed to like to watch it for a few minutes until about the time she turned 1 at which time she became totally bored and un-amused with it.

Since it's not too expensive -- maybe worth the buy.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's okay
I received this toy as a gift.My daughter is 6 months old and doesn't know how to press the button yet, so I have to be there to press the button for her.It is too heavy for her to pick up which really frustrates her.She wants to hold it up to her face and suck on the ribbons on top. When I do press the button for her, it bounces away from her putting it out of reach.

It's cute and its fun.She likes the noises it makes.I get bored of it quickly because it makes the same noises and doesn't change at all.It also ends really quickly. It's funny if you place it up-side down on the botton. It becomes possessed. This cracks me up more than her.My cat on the other hand really doesn't like this toy!

All of this said and done, it's OK.I don't think I'd have bought it myself.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just plain boring!
And a waste of money! My daughter got this as a gift at 6 months, and was not impressed by it at all, but did find my dogs reaction to the toy quite funny. This is a annoying repetive toy, one with little value as either a plaything or any educational value. I tossed it after it had collected dust for the last few months, my advice is, don't bother, get a set of the peek a blocks instead, your baby and you will have much more fun! ... Read more

This is our second Boohbah...another gift. I am glad we didn't pay the money for this one...but our daughter seems to like it. Myself I like the dancing one better...we didn't buy it either!!! As long as our daughter is pleased thats all that matters.
The sound effects could be better...not sure what the one sound is even suppose to be!!!
Very colorful!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Poopbah
Loud farts, the movement is common with constipation with the dancing Poopbahs and poop sounds definetly new age alright totally describes them.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Toddler
I like Boohbah. My kids like Boohbah. The TV show is/was great because it got them off the couch and MOVING. So when we saw the Boohbah toys my kids were excited.

I recommended that a grandparent buy one of the dancing Boohbah's for my two year old, but they bought this one instead.Let me repeat, the "Silly Sounds Boohbah" does NOT dance.

All that this toy does is make a couple of sounds, including the "Boohbah" phrase when you squeeze it's tummy.

When my two year old opened the present, she started squealing "Boohbah, Boohbah!" and wanted to get it out of the package to play with it. I obliged, and showed her how it worked, and after she squeezed it's tummy 6-8 times and had heard all of the songs 2-3 times, she looked up at me and said "Dance?" I told her it didn't, and that was it. She was done.

She comes across it every once in a while and will squeeze it's tummy a few times, maybe carry it around the house for 15 minutes or so, but that's about it.

On the plus side, it does seem to be durable, and mimics the characters on the TV show well.

If your child loves Boohbah, I strongly recommend buying the dancing Boohbah INSTEAD of this product, as it will promote more interaction with your child. ... Read more

If your child loves Boohbah, I strongly recommend buying the dancing Boohbah INSTEAD of this product, as it will promote more interaction with your child. ... Read more
