Editorial Review

A wonderful blend of deduction with a form of 20 Questions. Two players try to deduce the identity of their opponent's "Mystery Person." Using game boards with 48 frames apiece and an equal number of cards displaying character faces, players ask one another yes or no questions that help narrow the pool of possibilities. Through process of elimination, the identity of the Mystery Person slowly becomes evident. As kids' skill levels grow, their questions become more strategic, allowing them to solve the mystery faster and faster. The faces on the cards are cheerful and clever and designed to give subgroups among the 48 characters just enough similarities to challenge players. --Tom Keogh ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Newer isn't always better...look for the 1998 version.
I'm an educational therapist, and had borrowed another therapist's "Guess Who?" game to use with students.I found it to be great for students who need work on visual discrimination, and it builds categorizing skills and other thinking skills. The game I borrowed had a copyright date of 1998.I found this game so useful that I decided to buy it for myself, but, though Amazon.com pictures the 1998 version, I got a newer, but not improved, version. The only improvement is that it comes in a smaller box, so it's more portable. My main complaint is that the drawings of the faces are very simplistic, and lacking in any character, in contrast to the very detailed faces of the original game, which actually exude personality. In addition, though it looks as though Milton Bradley tried to show a little more cultural diversity than in the original game, they still aren't representing genders equally; still only one fourth of the characters are female. Finally, the "deck" of face cards is not a real deck this time, but small rectangles that you have to punch out from a card.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty fun
A couple teenagers were playing this when I was little and that's how I found out about this game. I've bought it since then and played it a lot with all ages. Usually when I'm playing with teens, I'll play the more complex version that includes having 2 face cards instead of just one. Most of the time, the 2 people have totally different features and you have to try to narrow it down without flipping down the wrong people!
So try the variations as well....you might discover something!

5-0 out of 5 stars Guess Who I am...
I have owned Guess Who since I was a little girl and still have my original game.I still enjoy playing it.As it is more of a game of guessing and remembering thana child's game.It challenges your memory.I just have a blast playing the game.I looked at the new one recently as mine is now getting a little battered and it seems the same although some of the characters look different. But, it is expected to change some over the years. If you are looking for a game you can play with a family member this is a great game! And it is enjoyable too! ... Just like its big brother, Monopoly Jr. is big-time fun for everyone! Spend a day at the amusement park. Ride the roller coaster, bumper cars, or Ferris wheel. How about a game of miniature golf or a visit to the haunted house? It's simple--set up ticket booths on as many boardwalk amusements as possible, then build your fortune collecting the entrance fees as other players land on your properties. If someone else already owns an amusement, you pay up. Watch out--if one player owns both amusements of the same color, you must pay them double! So have some fun. And don't forget--pass GO, collect $2. --Alison Golder ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars We LOVE this game.
This is a wonderful game!!!My 6 year old loved to play Monopoly, but it was very hard for her and no fun for me.This version is WONDERFUL!!! My little girl can count out her own money and tell me what to pay when I land on her property.I like and want to play this game with my daughter. My 3 year old can also play this game with a little help.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ok for kids
I baby sit a lot, so I bought this for when the kids come over. It's not hard at all, there isn't much thinking involved and the kids actually enjoyed it. But I will say that they outgrew it really fast. Pretty soon they were wanting to play "real" Monopoly with the "big kids". And I must say, they won a lot!
Over-all though, it's a good starting point to a good "real" Monopoly player.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite game!
My son receive this as a gift when he was four. He loved playing this game on the computer and loves the board game version even more. We have lost a few of the "ticket booths" but when you're five that just doesn't matter. A great way to start the foundation of adding and subtraction. The money could be a little more durable but overall for the price you get great family fun! ... Read more

All of your favorite Disney characters are featured in classic Monopolystyle for a family game that everyone can enjoy. You already know how to play,so nothing has changed--except a few things that actually make this versioncollectible. Solid pewter moving pieces feature Snow White, a coupled Lady & TheTramp, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Alice, and Baboo. Property is representedas a cottage and the Prince's well-known castle. Scrooge McDuck, naturally, isfeatured on all Monopoly money in place of Rich Uncle Pennybags. --DianeBeall ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Disney makes the magic shine...
This is so much fun... but it is still as long as the original.I love this one better because I am a Disney freak!Everything about the game has a Disney theme now.But the rules are the same as the first one.If you are a fan of Monopoly then you will also love this version long as you like Disney.I find it great for the family to sit down and play!Just as long as they have patience as it can be a quite long game at times.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Game on Earth
It toally rocks. the durbleness is slitly not fondbecause the money will rip. The ed. is okay by having kids use their mind to count .

5-0 out of 5 stars A little visit to Disney without leaving home!
This is a wonderful game for the family to play - it's a mental visit to Disney World for all of us.The kids are learning about numbers and money while having fun!Landing on a particular spot, Space Mountain as an example, brings up memories and stories. Our entire family looks forward to playing this version of an all-time classic game! ... Editorial Review

Anyone can become a megamillionaire just like Mr. Burns with thiscollector's edition of Monopoly based on The Simpsons, the beloved,sometimes-controversial animated TV series. The rules of the game remain thesame, but the old Monopoly properties are now all Springfield landmarks, with anew monorail running across the game board. Players use tiny pewter game tokensof Bart, Homer, and other Springfield characters as they purchase stores, restaurants, and homes. Who wouldn't want to buy Krustylu Studios or theKwik-E-Mart? Instead of acquiring houses and hotels, players try to accumulate monorailstops and stations on their properties. Customized Chance and Community Chestcards offer additional sly references and cartoon drawings of the characters. The cultural references are up-to-the-minute, but the educational value ofplaying strategic board games remains constant. --Marcie Bovetz, mother andformer children's librarian ... Features

  • The World of Springfield and the World of Monopoly collide.
  • All the rules of Monopoly and all the style of The Simpsons.
  • Includes 6 collectible pewter tokens - Homer as the monorail conductor, Kang, Bart, Blinky, Santa's Little Helper and Jebediah Springfield.
  • Special Offer inside the game allows you to collect additional tokens.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simpsons monoply
This game kicks major @$$.
buy this over any other monoply game

4-0 out of 5 stars Exxxcellent!!!!
This is an extremely great version of what is the greatest board game ever created. The rules are of course exactly the same but the Simpsons properties, money, Chance and Community Chess cards and everything else make it a fresh experience. The fact that the game board and game tokens are monorail themed does date it a little reducing it to a four and a half star rating. I would have preferred it wasn't that way with just the four train stations monorail themed. It is still great though but I would also like to have seen more game tokens of the other family members especially Grandpa and Maggie, and also other characters like Mr Burns in addition or instead of the doughnut. They could have also put Snake in the jail cell on that corner of the board rather than the traditional Monopoly criminal icon and Chief Wigum on the Go to Jail Square but maybe I'm just being picky.

This is an excellent gift idea for anyone who even only occasionally enjoys the Simpsons and a must for anyone who is a fan. Also recommended to enjoy the game even more is Monopoly Companion The Players Guide by Philip Orbanes. This book will refresh the rules and save arguments and even teach you some, such as I never knew the number of houses was limited for a reason so that you could strategise and not buy hotels to stop someone else with a set from building.Just buy the game, you won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, Great Fun!!!!!!
This is by far the coolest monopoly edition to date; and i've seen them all. The attention to detail is amazing. You won't regret this buy. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good game for the money
I think this game was worth the money, we play it a lot at my house and we are big board game players. It is NOTHING LIKE THE ORGINAL CLUE GAME, so if that's what you are looking for, look elsewhere.I would like to see more then 4 people be able to play. And you can p;ay with 2 people, but It's not very fun because you end up following each other around the board asking each other questions. That gets dull, the more people the better.

5-0 out of 5 stars The improved CLUE
This version is better than the first one! My first time playing was at my friend's house. I LOVED it! the only disadvantidge was if you're making a guess, and taking up too much time, it starts saying "Miss Peach, please move." Itget's annoying, but it's better not having to waste time rolling the dice. I think it's great!

3-0 out of 5 stars okay..............
Pretty fun to play and the sound effects are pretty cool, the only problem is that it sometimes takes a little while for the game board to recegnize the pieces.still pretty fun though

4-0 out of 5 stars Love this Game!
My daugther just received this game for her 4th birthday. She played it once at a friend's house and had been talking about it ever since. She was SO excited when she opened this present. The game is so much fun.It is a kids game that I actually like playing.(nice to get a break from Candyland and Chute and Ladders) It is easy to figure out how to play -- just a matter of reading the directions, which are simply written and easy to understand. The object of the game is to find out who ate the cake, what time they ate it and what they had to drink with it.The figures slide into the disc shaped stands and which ever figure has the picture of cake crumbs is the one who ate it.The stands slide off so the person who ate the cake is never the same.It is similar to the original clue game in that you go to the different rooms etc.It is just simplified. The game is designed for 5-8 year olds but my daugther just turned 4 and loves playing it!I do have to help her out a little but eventually she'll be able to play it with out my help. When we're not playing the game, she loves to play "house" with the figures.I'd recommend this for any young dectective or any parent who is looking for a break from other child games!

2-0 out of 5 stars UMMMMMMMMMM.........................
OK when my dad bought this game for me I was excitied. Then my friend came over and TRIED to play it but how do you know if they ate the cake or not?! All they give you is, Miss Scarlett,Mr.Plum etc, some pieces of paper with different drinks and all that, futiture (I dont know why they gave me this)and a game board. So how are we supposed to find out? I have played adult clue. But they give you cards and a file. If someone know how to play Clue Jr please tell me!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Warm Up for the Older Child/Adult Version
I bought this game for my seven-year-old daughter who saw the stage version of "Clue" and I wasn't sure if she was quite ready for the regular version.

She enjoys the game thoroughly, especially the familiar characters (you know them, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, etc) though instead of murder and mayhem, they are eating cake.... Yes, it is scaled down AND in "bite sized pieces" (sorry for the pun that was `dying' to be written).

I could easily see my daughter playing this for a couple months and then graduating to the adult version. It is simple to follow, engaging and does necessitate some logical thinking for the younger set. My older daughter played along and wasn't bored like she is by some other "little kid" board games.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good as the Original
Our family loves guess who and are avid Disney fans!! this game is a great combo for us.My daughter loved the characters and that there were just as many females as males since in the original there is definately more males and makes for unfair play if you draw a female. The game takes a while to put together the first time, the cards are flimsy and difficult to get into the slots. It probably took my thirty minutes to put the thing together, but it is a great family game.If you kids do not know the characters, it may be difficult for them to play.Guess who is a great educational game that teaches process of eliminiation and proper phrasing of questions, her first grade teacher told me it is one of the best games to play for memory development, plus it's a quick game that doesn't take hours to play. ... For those of you who didn't grow up in the era when every kid had one, the Magic 8 Ball is a fortune-telling device shaped like an oversized billiard ball and filled with some unidentifiable dark liquid. You ask it a yes-or-no question, "Does Jenny in my English class think I'm cute?" Then you shake the ball and see what answer shows up in the window, written on the side of a plastic die. This is a SpongeBob-themed Magic 8 Ball, meaning that it's imprinted with a SpongeBob logo and gives some answers that sound nautical, such as "Aye Aye, Captain." Sure, it's nothing earth shattering, but it does provide the same harmless diversion as the original Magic 8 Ball. --David Stoesz ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I was excited at the prospect of my children playing with a toy that I had enjoyed.

However, you can hardly ever read the magic 8 ball because the liquid is to dark.I also wanted the traditional comments so I guess I should have stuck with the "original" magic 8 ball.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's ok
I'm a Spongebob fan, I got it for my collection. Initially, the first one was already busted open when I got it. Amazon usually packs well so I was surprised it was cracked and leaking when I got it. Sent it back, no issues.

Got the new one and was not too impressed other than it is a Spongebob toy. The little triangle that is inside with words on it is barely visible more than 50% of the time. It's as if it's not heavy enough. Most times it ends on the edge of the triangle and you're reduced to twisting and turning the thing so you can see what you can get. When it does show, you can barely read it because it's not up against the window enough to push all the blue away??

Not too thouroughly impressed. Barely any of the toys I've bought have been durable or reliable from Nickelodeon. I'm almost to the point of not buying their items anymore.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kids like it, but little value for the $
My kids are huge Scooby fans and love this.I think the game is too short (5 minutes tops) and too easy for them (ages 5 and 8).Based on that, I think it's too much money for what you get. There are better games out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprise!Great game and great value!
Not sure of why this game was so urgently requested by my third grader, I bought it only to find out that it really is fun!The name of the game speaks to avid Scooby and Shaggy fans of the appropriate age bracket but, the game moves quickly, play continues easily and one round leads quickly to another. For the price, its a perfect birthday gift with appeal to little sibs for recognition of the characters. No big challenge but great for kids learning the ins and outs of board game play. ...
