4-0 out of 5 stars cars
roadsters is the best game but after you play it alot it gets boaring.but there are cool cars like ferraris, corvetts and more, but the bad thing about it is that they dont use the real cars names.

5-0 out of 5 stars Roadsters- Best Racing Game
I have been hoping for a racing game like this to come out. After playing such games as Cruisin' USA, Cruisin' World, San Francisco Rush, and California Speed, I believe that Roadsters is the champion of racing games. It's the closest you can get to driving a roadster without spending $85,000+ on a Porsche Carrera. The thing that really impressed me with Roadsters was the assortment of cars. There are 30 speed machines that you can choose from. However, they are put into three categories. Which means that in order to use the more expensive cars, you have to win with the cheaper ones. Not all of the cars are listed under their real names. But, if you look carefully you can easily recognize them. For example, the Equinox EX320 is the BMW Z3. Also the Skarla SK Roadster is the Audi TT. Other easily recognizable models include Mercedes Benz, Lamborghini, and Porsche. The 4 modes of play are: Roadsters Trophy, Quick Race, Multiplayer, and Time Trial. In trophy mode you must first select a driver. Then, you are given $45,000 to purchase a new car and pay the entry fee for the competition. At first, you can only purchase Category C Cars. In order to advance to Category B, you must get first place overall in the season of 6 races. Each course ranges in difficulty.Because Roadsters is a very realistic racing game, it is also a very hard game to master. If you take the sharp turns at a high speed you will end up hitting the wall or skidding off the track. This will slow you down greatly and could hurt your chances of winning. It took me awhile to recognize when to let up before a turn, but after a couple of laps I really got the hang of it.As you can see, I really like this game(If I didn't like it I probably wouldn't have written so much). If you ever get a chance to play it you won't be disappointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Fun Racing Game
Roadsters is one of those games that plays like an arcade racer but has real licensed cars. Both the graphics and theplay control are very good and the cars are definetly cool. My only complaint was that there wasnt enough tracks. There are only 6 of them and after a while you just want more. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Micro Machines 64 Turbo puts you in control of those crazy little cars known as Micro Machines. The racetracks are all to scale: zoom across a packed kitchen table, or zip over the back of a ruler connecting one desk to another.

With up to 32 Micro Machines to be mastered, the game has fairly high replay value. Moreover, the designers have taken full advantage of the Nintendo 64's graphics ability to create beautifully rendered race courses. However, one major drawback is the viewing angle, which is from a floating camera focused on the immediate area around you. The viewing angle can be a bit disorienting and never seems to allow you to anticipate the next turn.

Invest in an extra controller for the entertainment value of the multiplayer option. Those gamers with no passion for racing should consider a different investment option, because this game is all about getting to the finish line first. --Hugh Arnold

Pros:

  • Great graphics
  • Fun multiplayer option
  • Great for the gamer who enjoys different setups for racing
Cons:
  • Annoying viewing angle

4-0 out of 5 stars small racing galore
this game involves racing micro machines on built together tracks.an example would be a ruler which serves as a bridge gets your ride across a gap between tables.a huge jump from the table to a chalk drawn race course on the floor.these dagon things have no stick and will slide all over everwhere.there are boats, tanks, cars stuff like that.you win cars as you move along.

4-0 out of 5 stars Killer game!
I can definetely say that this game can sure provide one of the best multiplayer modes of all Nintendo 64 games. Unlike some people might have said, If you play this game with more than one friend, the race won't stop if another player disappears from the screen (that happens when a player gets behind you). One of the most challenging thing about this game is that, different from other general racing games, when your car is upside down on the screen, you'll have to drive it as if you were inside it. What the hell did I mean by that? If you want your car to go right on the screen, and it is upside down, you'll have to move the control stick right, right? Wrong. You'll have to move it left. That's what I meant by saying you'll have to drive as if you were reaaaally driving it. That is what makes this a though game and a very funny one too. I wouldn't rate this game 5 stars cuz it's really boring to play alone. It's like Mario Party. It's mostly a multiplayer game, so don't play this one if you live on a deserted island. Me and my friends spent hours playing this game and laughing a lot at each other. I really recoomend this one! Great fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but simple

This game has neat little characters and a fun storyline. The evolutionary cats stand on two legs, and run around bathrooms, backyards, livingrooms, etc. chasing crazy rats, zapping them away. The puzzle genre comes into play from time to time, though its not a board game or anything of the sort, but I like the game. Its a fun game for kids and teens.Enjoy! ... Editorial Review

It sounds like a great idea: take the common childhood activity of playing with radio-controlled cars, and make a video game out of it. Yes, the oddly titled Re-Volt is an RC car racing simulation. Buying a video game rather than the real thing eliminates the hassles of worn-out batteries, broken antennas, and damaged furniture, and Re-Volt adds the excitement of racing cars around diverse locales such as empty toy stores, gardens, and the deck of a ship. To spice things up, the Re-Volt creators planted various power-ups around the tracks so the cars can have weapons, such as guided bottle rockets, water balloons, and oil slicks.

Yes, it does sound like fun. So why isn't it? After the novelty wears off, it all comes down to gameplay. The creators have reproduced the physics of driving cheap RC cars very accurately. Too accurately, in fact. All of the things that are annoying about RC cars in real life are also annoying in this game: the lack of variable steering, the way your car stops dead when it just brushes against a wall, the wide turning radius, and the slow speeds all combine for a singularly frustrating experience.

Most racing simulation games succeed when they reproduce the thrill of racing a real car. Unfortunately for Acclaim, reproducing the thrill of racing a 4-inch-high plastic toy running on AA batteries just isn't as much fun as it should be. --Eric Fredrickson

Pros:

  • Fun race track settings
  • Indestructible cars
  • Up to 4 players can play
  • No batteries required!
Cons:
  • Mercilessly accurate physics
  • Can't save after each race, only after each championship circuit (3-4 races)
  • Built-in track editor is very limited and difficult to use

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, yet a bore
I played this game on PC, and I liked it oh so much better on PC. When my brother got his N64, I got Re-Volt for him (and partially for myself lol) to play. First problem I encountered was getting it to save on the memory card, it may just be my memory card, but that was very annoying. Also, it is almost impossible to get in the lead.
Pros:
1) Good Selection of cars
2) Fun tracks
3) Multiplayer (I love multiplayer games)
Cons:
1) Hard to get or stay in 1st place
2) Memory card problem

I got this game used for ..., so it wasn't that bad. If you have a couple extra bucks lying around, this game is worth getting, and is fun. However, in my opinion this game is better for younger games, probably 5th grade and below.

5-0 out of 5 stars best racing game
This is the best racing game ever if you want a racing game then definently get this game

3-0 out of 5 stars poor port puts poop in party
I think the problem here is that I played the demo on my pc, which looks fantastic, before I bought it for the N64.Hmmmm.It is fun, really.Lots, I mean it.There's just too much going on.By that, I mean my poorlittle 64 (with the 4meg pac, for sure) just can't handle it.I reccomendonly using the hi-res option in practice mode, which is the most fun Ifound here, otherwise the freaky blink kicks in and I wake up drooling infront of the tube with my wife preventing a tongue swallowing using saladtongs.I mean, come on, remove some detail,(detail? where? ) and smoothout the frame rate. This is probably where the problem starts.See: Ifyou set the difficulty settings higher, it adds realism to the car'shandling. It will spin out if you clip a corner, or flip over if you hit acurb, etc. But! (!) You can set it to kiddie level, and haul booty.Itreally is fun when you get the hang of it, but it looks so much prettier onthe pc. And, i'd imagine, on the dreamcast (I wouldn't know). But, if allyou have is a 64, and the price is right, go for it.If you like thisgame, I bet you would like the first Vigilante8, as well. -moon. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Theres nothing amazing about this game
The graphics are nothing, there are much better baseball games with much better graphics than this title. The only thing I thought was cool and challenging about this game was scenario mode. Other than that everything about this is terrible, the batter control, pitching, anything you can think of. Has Konami ever made a good sports game? No I bet not, they better stick with action games or their reputation might be as good as dead, this was made a while ago but it is still pretty bad, if you are still playing N64 I suggest you get one of the All-Star Baseball games, they are pretty good, or should I say they were good for their time. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars What happend to the real NBA JAM style?
First of all, I am pretty disapointed that this version of NBA JAM does not inculde the classic 2 on 2 style from the original and best NBA JAM games. This version is much like the NBA LIVE games and it's all 5 on 5 regular basketball. If you want the NBA JAM classic 2 on 2 game, I recomend the SNES versions. Dont even bother with NBA Hangtime, that game was rejected out of the arena.

Coming to terms with the fact that this is 5 on 5, I gave it a go and overall, i'm not thrilled with it.

This game is basicly the typical basketball game. It has a season mode, with drafts, trades, ceate a player etc.. but thats on just about every BBall game anyway. Then there is Jam mode, which is just an exhibition mode. And then there is a useless skills game to choose, where you pick either a 3 point shoot-out, which there is no stratagy to, it's boring and there is no real challenge to it but to just work out the timing of when to release the button when shooting. And there is also a free throw option, which makes no sense to choose random players, 'cause you only get to shoot as one. Its just a free throw practice, but it does however have an interesting stratagy to make a free throw that I do like better then a lot of other games ways. You have to use the stick to position a picture of a ball, inside a pic of a hoop (not tht easy) and then hit the shoot button.

There is the typical options, of real play to turning whatever option you want on and off.

The gameplay itself is no fun. The intros are annoying, and tho you can skip them, it would be nice to have an option to skip them automaticly. the tip off seems to have no real way of winning it, just mash the buttons I guess. Dribbling sucks because you can't stnd still for 1 second without the computer stealing the ball or pushing you over, and most of the time the computer plays a full court press and gets the ball when you inbound it, making it so annoying. Shots just do not want to go in. If you try to dunk, you'll most likely get blocked if a computer player is near you. If you try to go for a break-a-way, the computer will shove you, even if it's 1000 feet away from you.

The only way I was able to enjoy this game for a breif time was using these codes..then it made it a bit better.

Garenteed to make next shot (within offense half court)
Pause the game and press,L L (C^) L L (C^) L L (C^) Z

Dunk From Anywhere (individual player you use when entering code)
Pause the game and press, L L (Cv) L L (Cv) L L (cV) Z

Tie The Score
Pause the game and press, L L Down L L Down L L Down Z

Whole Team Is On Fire
Pase the game and press, L L Right L L Right L L Right Z

There are other codes at www.gamefaq.com

With those cheats the game became a bit better when shots would actualy go in for a change. The on fire code was badly needed. It was good to be able to use anybody and knock a 3 pointer in from anywhere within the offensive half court zone. Some shots would even go from the half court line. The dunk from anywhere code is OK, but there is an annoying dunk where the player bounces the ball first then takes off a second later, and that one is a garenteed steal for the computer if there defending you and close enough.

There is no Michael Jordan in the game, the PG for the bulls is Jordan, but it's player number 99, just like a lot of other games. I might be wrong about this, but there is no way to edit a created player once you've created them. The whole game needs a memory pak and uses the whole thing up.

Overall, I think this game is better then NBA Hangtime, but I do wish this one had an out-door court. It is almost the same as NBA LIVE, only there is the NBA JAM style of B.S dunks, and on fire etc... and it's a bit better then those Kobe Court Side games. But still, compared to the old SNES BBall games, these games might have better sound and graphics, but the game play and fun factor havent been found on the 64.

2-0 out of 5 stars Boo, stinky basketball game
This is a good game if there's a lot of people at your house, but the Season mode does't live up to its NBA Jam predecessors. It also uses every space on a normal memory card,so don't buy this game unless you need every basketball game on earth.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool game
i love this game. it's fun to play . but it takes practice to make the shots. when i first started to plai it i suckeed and i taught it was boring. but now i love the game and i play it everyday. i think who ever created thid game should think of making a new one. maybe nba jam 2002./ they should make it just like nba jam 99. not nba jam 2000... ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Just Left Me With A Headach
This game was the worst I'v ever played. The graphics were bad and the game play was impossible. It is true that the only way to score is to take it to the hoop. There are no real special parts about the game. I think youshould just ignore this game because no good or fun comes from it.

1-0 out of 5 stars destroyed game
If you take the Lakers against the Clippers and every Clipper shoots about 80% you know there is a problem. The only sure way to score is driving to the hoop.Outside shooting is unpredictable.Open shot - miss, doubleteam - good.this pattern was over and over again.Skip this game andavoid frustration.

1-0 out of 5 stars Have these people ever seen a basketball game?
A very weak and confused effort.

It appears that makers of this game hadn't decided what they were trying to build before they starting writing this confused title. What they ended up with is a failure on manylevels.

This game tries to be an arcade-type basketball game - and fails. If you want an arcade b-ball game, get NBA Showtime.

This game alsotries to be a basketball simulator - and fails. All those wonderfuloffensive sets to be run, but the only thing that works is to plow towardsthe basket with the turbo button pressed. If you want a simulator-game,break out your Sega Genesis and play Coach K's College Basketball.

If youdon't believe me, rent this game before you buy it.Fortunately, I did - -and it saved me some christmas cash. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars big hands

5-0 out of 5 stars This N64 controller ROCKS!!!! by Sanjay Schrapel
I have been a PSone lover for some time now, and I still am, with my trusty PSone sitting on the shelf above my jungle N64.I have only recently changed to N64 and the main reason was because of the darned original controller whith 3 HANDLES!!!
Why would a controller have 3 handles when most humans have only 2 hands??? You could'nt use the L button, needed in great games like FZERO (although Wipeout for PSone is better) while you were using the stick, and the left pad is never used!

Hail the unofficial controller makers. This controller only has one big stick in the middle with 2 stubs on either side, so I can easily move my hand up to the left stub to access the L and ^V<> buttons with ease.It also has a nice fat grip on it so the controller dosen't suddenly slip out of your hands when you have been perspiring using a rumble pak.It says EA sports on it, but for a third of the price (quarter here in Australia) of an original controller, it's a legendary buy.

this is just like every other hockey game youve ever played.the computer scores twice every time you do and always within the next minute or so.theres some basic fighting.no rules options are always nice.one of the coolest things is you can make a dream team by stealing other players from all over the world!it takes up a lot of space on your controler paks but its a pretty fun game.

4-0 out of 5 stars great game for nintendo 64!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's a good game but since it's from nintendo 64 the graphics aren't too good but good for nintendo 64. you can set traps for other players like a portable hole. I would highly reccomend this game for a person who likes Mario Cart or other non-lifelike racing games because it's pretty fun except for the not so great graphics but good for nintendo 64. The educational is bad but no video games have really good educational value (who cares if you learn from it it's all about the fun right?!!) the durabilities not good because it's for a "home entertainment system" ...
