3-0 out of 5 stars This is Zenobia?Looks like she belongs on a ship's prow
For the Conan Series II Figures, McFarlane Toys has put together characters from Robert E. Howard's only Conan novel "Hour of the Dragon" (a.k.a. "Conan the Conqueror" to those of us who read the Lancer paperbacks with the Frank Frazetta covers as our introduction to the character). The story is of Conan when he is the middle-aged king of the ancient kingdom of Aquilonia who has to fight a final battle against Xaltotun, a resurrected sorcerer. Armies are not going to win this one and Conan has to find the fabled Heart of Ahriman to defeat his enemy. Along the way he will meet a slave girl in Nemedia that he will make queen of Aquilonia.

Unfortunately this 6" figure of Zenobia looks like she is the figurehead on a ship that ended up chained to a wall instead of the one woman that Conan married (as opposed to the assorted royalty he impregnated as his days as a thief, mercenary, pirate, etc.).I suppose the figure it somewhat titilating given the way her bosom is drapped, but I look at the face and I am back to think of a ship's prow (specifically the ship H.M.S. "Surprise" in "Master and Commander").Beyond that she seemes to be exercising as opposed to actively trying to break free from her chains and it is a really small section of wall which makes the figure looking even strange. This is clearly the least impressive figure in the Conan series of figures to date.I expected BĂȘlit to look better than Xenobia, but Svadun the Aesir Warrior looks better too and that just cannot be right.

Series II includes the King Conan of Aquilonia on his throne that is pretty much the last shot we have of the character in the "Conan the Barbarian" film (admit it, this is the one you want the most) and Battle Conan (a.k.a. Conan the Warrior). The rest of Series II consists of Pallantides of the Black Dragon, Conan's field commander in full battle armor; Xaltotun the Undead, the skeletal sorcerer; and the Man-Eating Haunter of the Pits. This last one is important to know about because it explains why Battle Conan is suspended in the air on a really long support peg: the base of this figure connects with Haunter of the Pits to form an interactive diorama.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay, but is the worst figure so far
Honestly, I really dont care for the sculpting on the face. While this can be said to be a classic scene/scenario from the sword and sorcery genre (for which Robert E. Howard is oft seen as the father of), the distressed damsel looks like Chyna from WWE. Not very sexy. Could have been better.

4-0 out of 5 stars Hanging with Zenobia
Robert E. Howard peopled his stories with larger than life characters. We read them, and enjoy them, because they represent a world that never was, but should have been. Conan was his best creation. Conan loved scantily clad beauties. So do we, Howard's readers. This figure of Zenobia gives us an artist's representation of an imaginary being. She is beautiful. She is in bondage. She awaits rescue by Conan. In the meantime, cut her out of the plastic and put her on a shelf. Surround her with your other action figures, take a draught of beer, and toast Bob Howard and McFarlane for bringing to life an adolescent fantasy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Green Lantern is almost impossible to get!
Me and my dad went to four shopping malls in San Diego and were not able to find Green Lantern. On the internet we checked a lot of sites until we finnally order it. It is amazing how difficult it was to get!

5-0 out of 5 stars These are exactly what I've been waiting for!
I would like to express my gratitude to the people over at Mattel for putting out such great nice-looking and durable action figures.I was so fed up with the other "ugly" looking justice league action toys. What I like most is that the new large size figures have a great cartoony life-like feel to them and true to the cartoon network show.I currently own 5 of them (missing Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman and Aquaman).I have them display on top of my tv cabinet and they look spectacular. My little nephews go nuts over them.I had contacted Mattel regarding the missing incomplete 10" action figures and a representative told me that consumers will soon see the missing 10' action figures on store shelves.

1-0 out of 5 stars He's a poser, not an action figure
My 5 yr old son and I have him, and this size Flash. While they are excellent replicas, they barely move! He's very stiff, so unless your little one is going to run around the house just holding him (and watch out if this heavy guy falls on toes!), what's the point?Buy the smaller Armor Attack line instead - moves better, fits in hand nicely, has similar nice detail -- AND has a cool detachable green attack bubble case. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Pllantides, the command of Conan's Black Dragons
McFarlane Toys has put together characters from Robert E. Howard's only Conan novel "Hour of the Dragon" (a.k.a. "Conan the Conqueror" to those of us who read the Lancer paperbacks with the Frank Frazetta covers as our introduction to the character) for the second series of Conan action figures. The story is of Conan when he is the middle-aged king of the ancient kingdom of Aquilonia who has to fight a final battle against Xaltotun, a resurrected sorcerer. But while armies are clashing Conan has to find the fabled Heart of Ahriman to defeat his enemy. He also meets a slave girl in Nemedia that he will make queen of Aquilonia. But while Conan is going after the Heart he needs somebody to command his army in his absence.

This 6" figure is of Pallantides of the Black Dragon, Conan's field commander in the Aquilonian army.He is shown in full battle armor, including a shield, and is about to draw his sword (there is also a the ruins of a small column as the base). If you want to pass him off for a Roman or Greek warrior you will be able to get away with it.This figure actually makes the character look a lot stronger than he did in the novel, where Pallantides had a tendency to be a bit subservient (much was made of the fact that Pallantides was a civilized man and had trouble understanding Conan given the rather interesting route by which the Cimmerian came to the throne of Aquilonia).Howard may or may not have gotten the name from Greek mythology, where the Pallantides were the people that Theseus defeated right before the decided to go to Crete and stop the sacrifice of Athenian youths to the Minotaur.

Series II includes the King Conan of Aquilonia on his throne that is pretty much the last shot we have of the character in the "Conan the Barbarian" film (admit it, this is the one you want the most) and Battle Conan (a.k.a. Conan the Warrior). The rest of Series II consists of Zenobia, the dancing girl and Conan's future queen; Xaltotun the Undead, the skeletal sorcerer; and the Man-Eating Haunter of the Pits. This last one explains why Battle Conan is suspended in the air on a really long support peg, because the base of this figure connects with Haunter of the Pits to form an interactive diorama. You can have Pallantides going after Xaltotun, but it would not be an "official" diorama.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the Best
This action figure is superb in detail as well as quality. The figure really brings you face to face with the Conan legend and really stirs the imagination to visualize heroic battle scenes where the battle prowess of this warrior, along with that of Conan, will really make the difference. Hats off to McFarlane for a job well done! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool toy
This is pretty cool. There is a lot of detail, but the other reviewer was right. The paint job is a bit sloppy, and I had to use a nail file to pry my cockpit door open. But overall it's cool looking and pretty decent.

4-0 out of 5 stars Always wanted one... but
First off, the detail is great on this craft. Paint job is ok, very clean and neat. The plastic appears to be the same plastic as typical build it yourself models (as with such models, I would not recommend playing with it). Very nice that Joyride Studios did the assembly and paint work for you.

Here comes my disappointment... the model is seems glued together with super glue of sorts and the vapors coated one of the engines and captured a factory workers finger print which can be seen depending on angle and lighting.

The other point is the cockpit hatch on mine doesnt open, it seems to have been glued shut at the factory. So the two included tiny cylon figures included have no home. :(

Overall it was worth the price to have in my display collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Eagerly anticipated for 27 years
Finally! Fans of accurately molded and painted spaceship toys have had this Cylon Raider and the companion Viper on their wish lists forever. From the promo pics and photos of actual packages, this looks similar to the Star Wars Action Fleet toys, with even more detail paid to accuracy of scale. For example, the cockpit doesn't appear to have been oversized just to accommodate the tiny action figures.

It's the perfect size for play, with great play features like retractable gear and opening cockpit. If this thing is as durable as the sturdy Action Fleet, it's a no-brainer home run for fans of this toy genre.

Now, please bring us toys based on the new Battlestar Galactica. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Choking Hazard?
Received this for Christmas...very pleased.
However, I am trying to envision the monster child that would be able to choke on toys of this size.Sheesh!

4-0 out of 5 stars Action figures of our favorite foul-mouthed fourth graders
Here in all of their wide-eyed innocence are the boys from "South Park" as 5-inch tall action figures (if you define action as starring in wide-eyed amazement).Pictured left to right are Trey Parker and Matt Stone's foul-mouthed fourth graders: Stan Marsh, "the cute one," is just an average American totally mixed-up kid and who serves as the voice of sanity for the gang, unless he is talking to Wendy Testaburger (better not to talk about that); Kyle Broflovski is "the smart one" in the group, who has an adopted little brother that he likes to kick around; Eric Cartman is "the fat one" (a.k.a. "the big boned one") one in the group and ; andKenny McCormick is "the lucky one" (in the attendant ironic frame of reference for the Comedy Central show), a poor kid, who lives in a run-down shack and whose comments are unintelligible because he keeps the hood of his parka pulled tightly around his face.

As I understand it, these are the same figures that were originally packaged individually for South Park Series 1 and 2, which means they do not have the sidekicks that came with them, just the figures.Still, there is a specific warning against this toy for children under 3 (and a less specific one against children under 18).Given that Cartman is always putting Kyle down for being Jewish while Kyle gives it right back to Cartman with regards to his weight problem, it seems strange that Kyle is sort of smiling while Cartman looks shocked.Stan is obviously surprised (noticed the presence of his eyebrows) and who know what deep thoughts Kenny is entertaining (at least the little fella is still alive).I am trying to figure out what episode or hypothetical situation would account for Kyle's expression being decidedly different from the rest of the gang, and I have not come up with anything yet.If I do, I will certainly edit this review, but if you think I am going to get into the educational value of "South Park" in print then you are sadly mistaken. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars There is a reason Battle Conan is suspended in mid-air
The story is of Conan when he is the middle-aged king of the ancient kingdom of Aquilonia who has to fight a final battle against Xaltotun, a resurrected sorcerer.Armies are not going to win this one and Conan has to find the fabled Heart of Ahriman to defeat his enemy.Along the way he will meet a slave girl in Nemedia that he will make queen of Aquilonia.

Series II includes the King Conan of Aquilonia on his throne that is pretty much the last shot we have of the character in the "Conan the Barbarian" film (admit it, this is the one you want the most). However, this is the other Conan figure, Battle Conan (a.k.a. Conan the Warrior). The rest of Series II consists of Pallantides of the Black Dragon, Conan's field commander in full battle armor; Zenobia, the beautiful harem girl; Xaltotun the Undead, the skeletal sorcerer; and the Man-Eating Haunter of the Pits. This last one is important to know about because it explains why Battle Conan is suspended in the air on a really long support peg: the base of this figure connects with Haunter of the Pits to form an interactive diorama.

Battle Conan is shown in mid-leap, his sword in his left hand and the axe by which he rule sin his right. For a warrior in battle he is remarkably free of armor, which is usually useful under such circumstances, but it does allow you to enjoy the figure's rippling muscles with all those impressive veins with all those pulsing Cimmerian blood rushing through them in the heat of battle. The axe looks like some ornate wall decoration from a castle, so hopefully it will be functional in the next ten seconds. The articulation with this 6-inch figure is limited to the bicep of the left arm, which allows you to position the sword as you desire. To date King Conan on this throne is my favorite of the four Conans produced in the first dozen figures of this series. After that where Battle Conan fits with Conan the Cimmerian and Conan the Indomitable is, to coin a phrase, up in the air. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars My Cylon is on the blink!
I was really excited when I got my Cylon figure. Even when it was still in the package I could see that the sculpt was right on. I thought this is a great figure... then I opened the package. One of his chrome shoulder gaurds fell off right out of the clam shell. For thirteen bucks you shouldn't have to deal with that. I fixed it easy enough though with a dab of crazy glue. Another problem came into view when I tried to put this guy on my bookshelf. You can't stand him up! No matter how you try to pose him, the Cylon falls down like frat boy on St. Patrick's Day. As I tried to pose him for display I found numerous ugly gaps in the joints, and an arm actually fell off. That was repaired easy enough but still. Anyhow after all that I still like this guy because I'm die hard Galactica fan, but I wouldn't advise anyone else to plunk down thier hard earned scratch for this figure.

4-0 out of 5 stars Glad they made one
Pros:
- they finally made one that was close to being accurate after 2+ decades.
- they didn't really make it as a toy but more like a poseable action figure- ie there are no stupid joints with screws in them.

Cons:
- quality seems to be a problem with this manufacturer. The eye on the cylon is a smudged semi-circular blob. In 2005 one would expect at least a small red LED. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! A great toy even if you've never seen Teen Titans!!!
SUPER-COOL "T-Sub" model with space for five 3 1/2" Teen Titans figures! Two harpoon-looking missiles fire about 12" and there are two tiny guns that can be detached. There's also a bay for two AAA batteries and a little button that makes a very cool electronic sound alternating with the voice of Robin saying something like "Titans! Let's go!"

Over all a VERY, VERY COOL TOY WITH A **LOT** OF PLAY VALUE!!! It also has a tricycle arrangement of tiny wheels on the bottom for kids to push it across the ground. You might have something of a search trying to track down all five Teen Titans figures, I got lucky when I went hunting for them. My six-year-old daughter received this as a reward for an excellent report card and she has been playing with it pretty much nonstop! This is an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT choice for kids who like the Teen Titans cartoon, but it's also EXTREMELY COOL even if they've never heard of the cartoon!! It looks like it's going fast even when it's standing still! The canopies open in two sections to allow access to the detailed little seats and dashboards. Really a great toy! Worth every penny! BUY IT NOW!!! ... Read more
