Baby animals from foals to fish are the stars of this wooden pegpuzzle. Each baby animal can be lifted out of the natural wood frameusing a small red peg embedded in each puzzle piece. The same laminatedpictures that appear on the pieces are illustrated on the puzzle board, making it easy for younger preschoolers to match the animal pairs. Thepuzzle has rounded edges and the pieces are smoothly sanded. Becausethis high-quality toy is made to last, several generations of childrenwill enjoy playing with it. --Marcie Bovetz ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT puzzle!
This is a great puzzle and my son loves it!He got when he was 18 months and has been able to work it from day one but still enjoys putting all the pieces in their place. It's a great way to teach the different animal names.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves these!
My daughter got a few of these Melissa & Doug peg puzzles for Christmas, she is now 16 months old and has mastered all of them by now so I keep buying new ones, I love that she loves to sit down and do them, It is so wonderful to sit and help her and watch her learn! I think these are wonderful! She gets so excited to play with her puzzles!

You don’t have to be Michael Jordan to excel at basketball thanks to this fun and versatile hoops set from the educational-toy experts at LeapFrog. The adjustable backboard and hoop can be set near the ground for very young children or elevated up to 20 inches as kids grow and seek new challenges. Best of all, the backboard lights up and talks to offer encouragement and help teach numbers, letters, and simple spelling. The tray beneath the hoop can be set to catch the two included balls or roll them back to your pintsize Kobe Bryant. This is a great way for little ones to practice their motor skills, learn numbers and letters, and, most importantly, have fun. --John Moe ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great learning toy, taught my 20 month old his alphabet
My son wasn't interested in this toy at first. He received it for his 1st birthday. But a few months later he loved it.He didn't even use the balls, just pressed the button so it would say the letters and numbers. One day he dragged the basketball hoop into the kitchen and repeated every letter and number that was said. We were amazed. My son is now 20 months old and still loves this toy. But most importantly, he can identify and recite in order all of the letters and knows his numbers from 1-12.I highly recommend this and all Leap Frog products.

3-0 out of 5 stars Learning Hoop Basketball
I was dissapointed with the Learning Hoop Basketball. The music is so boring that my 11-month old baby walked away after 3 minutes throwing the ball in the basket. He once in a while passed by the toy, throw the boy and walked away again as the same music came up after his throw. It would be more interested if music has changed after a throw.
Besides, the CAT button doesn't do much good for the kid.Only 4 words are being spelled.

I still want to give a good compliment in the physical quality of the toy.It looks good, sturdy with a cute frog and very strong. I am not worried about my baby will break it if he was a little rough to the toy.

This toy could be better off with more variety of music instead of just one tone all the time. For a while, I feel like it is torturing me with that same music.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice learning toy.
My son received this toy at 7 months old and really liked it. He will still play with it from time to time and he is now 20 months old. He really perfected saying bye bye with this toy, because it tells the child bye at the end of playing. This toy is not ment to be used as a pull up toy, for those who thought it was unsturdy, they should try a learning table or something. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I have 7 or 8 of them
My daughter loves this doll. It is her constant companion and comfort. She sucks on the hair -- who knows why?But since it's in her mouth constantly, I wash them constantly. They wash and dry very, very well in Woolite in the washing machine. The fabric has had everything imaginable on it, and it always comes completely clean -- except the area around the hair. After a few months, it does start to show drool stains (as another reveiwer noted), but I can't imagine what fabric wouldn't.So you have to replace Dolly every once in awhile, or ignore the stains.Fortunately, they're not terribly expensive, and they're readily available at lots of on-line stores, esp. Amazon.I'm pregnant with my second child, and I can't find any other "lovie"/doll that is a perfect as this one.I wish Eden made this particular doll in a different color!None of their other dolls compare.

5-0 out of 5 stars 3rd and going strong
we are on our third so soft baby girl doll for my daughter, the others got lost. We got the first one for my baby shower from my aunt and my daughter fell in love with it i then tried to get a spare just in case and couldn't find it anywhere and now that i found it i wish there was some kind of automatic shipper thatwould ship every 3-4 months :)

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughter's favorite "baby"
We bought this doll when we found out we were expecting a girl - my sister had one when she was a baby, so I bought it out of complete nostalgia. It is very soft and does not have a rattle inside like many soft dolls do.Because of this, we allowed my daughter to sleep with it at night - the ones with the rattles are so noisy once they learn to roll over, and would wake my daughter up.The only problem I have with this doll is that the material does not clean well --- it can be tossed in the washing machine, but if your baby totes the doll everywhere like my daughter, it can be very hard to get drool stains out.The doll does stay soft with washing though.Just do yourself a favor and buy two so that you can wash them often. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars My 18-mth-old son loves it!
He plays with it all the time, has learned to say the names, and can put the pieces in place. He loves to bring the puzzle to me and have me say the names.Very sturdy.I love that the pictures underneath match the pieces. Great puzzle!

1-0 out of 5 stars Teethers beware splinters.
My kid mostly played with the cars as though they were cars.He did some shape matching for a few minutes, but would get bored with that pretty quickly. My biggest problem was pulling the splinter out of his lip after he gnawed on one of the puzzle pieces.

I'm having the same splinter problem with the wooden ABC blocks.Funny -- I don't remember that being a problem when I was a kid. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome, fun truck
I bought this truck for the nursery I work in. It gets young kids attention and is fun to play with when it'sall put together. It's great for older kids to develop hand eye cordination, and it's fun for all ages to play with the younger kids because that's how younger kids learn.I wanted to buy this product for my grandsons second birthdays, but unfortunately it's out of stock everywhere.I hope it's not discontinued, that would be unfortunate for the children and parents that like to teach their kids how to play.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun toy for truck lovers
This truck allows for some great creativity, in that the pieces can fit together in crazy combinations. The sound effects work "like magic" to match the pieces that are on the base.My son got this as a gift when he was barely 2, and he enjoys it a lot.He still gets it out now and then two years later.Get a bin to keep all the pieces in, though. The truck's hats are easy to lose!

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I purchased this toy based on the excellent reviews it had here at Amazon, it looked also like a fun toy with educational value.I am very disappointed. For starters, my son finds it very frustrating that the front pieces for eyes, face & hat can only go on in one order. He also has trouble pulling the pieces apart once they are together, and he is very dextrous for his age. Also disappointing is the lack of container to store all the pieces in.Without this, the blocks are loose in my son's toybox and we can never find all the pieces. The packaging could easily be redesigned to hold the pieces. All in all, it is not a toy he can sit and play with without assistance, as I had thought it might be.When he does play with it he enjoys it for about 15 minutes and moves on to something else.We could have done without this toy under our Christmas tree. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Pound for Pound
My 17 month-old grandson immediately fell in love with the Pound A Ball when he opened the present and after a short lesson in holding the hammer went right to performing as the toy said he would. He had no trouble pounding the balls through and after some iterations, even put the colored balls in the right holes before incessantly pounding on them.Needless to say, it was his favorite toy much to the chagrin of my daughter and son-in-law.I would highly recommend this toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent toy for a 18 months old!
I bought this toy as a Christmas gift for my 18 months old boy based on the reviews posted by other parents. What a great toy this is! I had the Pound A Ball delivered to my work and immediately opened it. It was a lot of fun to play with (even my co-workers played). The balls are a little hard to pound through at first, but after trying a couple of times, the balls went through fine. Even my son was able to pound them with no problem. I only wish there were extra balls available to purchase (my son already lost two). Overall, this toy can sustain a lot of abuse, it's easy to clean and keeps kids entertained for hours.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Toy!
Our daughter received this toy as a gift, and her arm got stuck in one of the holes at the top while reaching for a ball as it went down. She nearly broke her arm trying to get it out (luckily we were supervising and stepped in). Also, the balls are hard to pound through the holes and since the base is not attached to the main piece, the two separate constantly. This toy was a huge disappointment! ... This abacus has been loads of fun for my two year old who is just learning the counting basics. She loves to just sit and play with the beads or to count with the help of mom and dad.The wood and metal construction is very safe and durable like all Melissa and Doug toys. This will be a useful and fun learning tool for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun math toy

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but you can easily live without this
Our son kind of likes this, but when we play pony he prefers to face towards the person bouncing them on their knee. He has no interest in the pony other than trying to to shove it in his mouth..

1-0 out of 5 stars Knock Off
This is a "knock off" of a product shown on the Oprah show. She had a show entitled "how to make millions". This idea won, except the item was a first class prototype. You can buy the better version of this on QVC. It is a much larger pony and velcro attaches to your knee. They even have a "Seabisquit" horse.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wholesome fun for kids starting at age one!
I bought this puzzle when my firstborn was one year old and he has loved playing with it as has his little brother. There is something very appealing (and wholesome) about kids loving farm animals...even those living in the suburbs with no farm in sight.

As with all the wooden peg puzzles from this manufacturer, the quality is high and they are very durable. The key to this brand, unlike others in same price range, is that the photo is idential underneath as on the piece itself. This is key for one year olds and even two year olds to master using the puzzle. I have seen both my kids struggle when 1 or 2 with different puzzles that are blank underneath or worse, show a different scene under the piece than on the piece.

I think it is wise to start off right at age one with the wooden peg puzzles as a plaything. My kids also play with the pieces separately from just making the puzzle. After they've mastered matching the piece and fitting it in, usually when they are around 2 they can do the different puzzles that don't have the image underneath.

Doing matching exercises and fitting these pieces into their proper places aids with hand eye coordination and thinking skills. Every child should have several of these puzzles of their own to play with.

The puzzle holder by this manufacturer is very useful to store the puzzles when they are not being played with and I highly recommend that as well.

This is a great gift for any holiday!

5-0 out of 5 stars Never too young for this puzzle
The smallest piece is about 1 1/2"x2 1/2". The pegs are not removable even by hands of adults. The company guaranteed non-toxic and child-safe(age 2-4) on the back of this toy.
The board and puzzle pieces are thick and very durable.
The pictures are colorful and cute. Children show an interest in the farm animals in their early age. I think you can teach these animals to babies and show them how to fit the piece in the spot even they can't do it themselves. My son is 24 month old, and it's too easy for him. He still play but just to show me he can do it. I recommend to children, age 12 month and maybe younger with parent's supervision to prevent from choking just in case. The younger children will need your help to play with this toy anyway.... You might be able to find a bargain.

5-0 out of 5 stars High quality puzzle that lasts
I got this puzzle for my girl's first birthday. She loves it. It is a very high quality toy that should last forever. The animals pictures are very colorful and well painted. She still chews on everything, but has not been able to damage this puzzle in any way. The pegs really help her pick up the peices and set them down (not in the right place yet), and the pegs are not removeable like I was worried about, but are buried deep in the wood and are very safe. I highly recommend this puzzle for all children over a year old. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My son LOVES these puzzles!
These durable, well-constructed wooden puzzles are a big hit with the 18 months + crowd.I believe my son's love of trucks started with this educational puzzle. The pieces are easy for little hands to grasp with the attached pegs, the puzzle is easy yet developmentally sound for toddlers and definitely worth the money.Do yourself a favor though--get a puzzle holder if you plan on purchasing a few of these types of puzzles...

4-0 out of 5 stars This is a very nice learning toy
We purchased this for our sons, after finally finding it @ Toys'R'Us.

The toy is beautifully hand-made -- as well as perfectly put together, however, it does chip very easily...

Being that usually a child, as young as 1 1/2 will begin using puzzles, if interested; I think they should coat the puzzle a little better to avoid the various bumps and scraps it might encounter..

Other then the slight chipping after less than a month, it is a very nice puzzle, which is actually easier for our kids to play with then the regular flat puzzles...I think it was a very good idea for motor skill improvement...

4-0 out of 5 stars nice, smooth, durable puzzle
This is a nice puzzle, but I perfer the Jumbo Knob Puzzle Farm. The Jumbo Knob Puzzle has a knob instead of a peg and it is easier for little children to grasp.

This puzzle will do just fine though, .... The edges are smooth and the base of the puzzle is thick enough that it is not going to break. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars "dolly" is the best thing since sliced bread!
Atleast in my daughters opinion! I think its great for kids to have "lovey" toys, and my 2 sets of twins all have them. My younger b/b twins have matching puppies, and my older (3 y. o.) b/g twins have a teddy and DOLLY! I have 3 of these dolls. My daughter CAN tell the difference though. I have had this doll since she was born, in the car, stroller, and recently she moved to Maddy's big girl bed. This doll is so pretty, she is soft too so a sleeping child can hug and love their baby doll. She is VERY easily spot cleaned, (trust me). She is also washing machine safe! (Shouldnt all toys? :) ). This doll is deffinatly my daughters favorite, and i have had a few "first dolls". Get this for your child too, they will love her! (But get extras, you will need them!) All in all this is a beautiful, soft doll that will deffinatly last for years to come.

5-0 out of 5 stars BABY!!!
My little girl got the precious baby doll for her 1st birthday and has not put it down yet.She takes it everywhere and screams if it has to go in the wash.I recommend buying 2 of the dolls since my dau. is only 18 months old and her doll is faded and stained from all the love it has recieved. This is the best doll she has.She plays with other dolls all day but "Baby" is the special one.

One of the first steps in learning to read is being able torecognize and label symbols. While your baby may not be naming theentire alphabet by the time he's 1 year old, this interlocking setcertainly offers a firm foundation for future reading. Each12-by-12-inch piece contains an easy-to-grasp, pullout letter of thealphabet; there are 50 pieces in all. Parents may need to help youngtoddlers with assembling the floor mat, since it requires more detailedpuzzle-fitting skills. But children as young as 1 year old can learn tofit the letters into the slots by themselves. This also makes acomfortable tumbling mat or a nicely cushioned play area. I have a 21 month old son who loves this mat!It keeps him busy long enough for me to get things done around the house!I recommend this to anyone with a busy body child!

5-0 out of 5 stars All For Fun
I love this mat! I got this for my 9 month old daughter and she immediately took to it. She loved the vibrant colors and the fact that she can pull out the letters, within a couple of days she found out that she could pull the whole mat appart (a lot of work for the parent...but all comepletely worth it). Friends have pulled it appart and have used it as a hop-scotch board and built things out of it. The foam is a little flimsy though, so I would recomend watching children when they are teething and figuring out the capabilities of their teeth. But over all I love this and have recomended it to many people.

We have hardwood floors, which are nice, but when you have a baby who wants to be on the floor, it's hard on everyone. So, we went out and bought this. It's much better than the floor, but it's not carpeting. They're pretty durable - my son has taken all of the letters and the numbers out and put them back and they don't seem to be very worn yet!(He's 18 months and we've had it for at least 12 months.)For a long time, that was one of the things he enjoyed doing the most, taking the letters out, walking around with them, and chewing on them.He would also put them back in later, but not as often as he would take them out.I didn't really worry much about the small pieces - the small circles for the inside of the eight, six, zero, b's, etc - since we're with him when he plays with this. But if you are, you can simply take them out and put them away for later.Of course, that means that your child will be able to pull out the letters and numbers more easily, but that's part of the fun. (Little ones have a hard time getting much of a gripe on the letters and numbers when they're pushed flush with the blocks.)Also, I think that it's nice to have the alphabet out and some numbers. My one complaint is that the one we got, when it's put together has six vertical stripes through all the letters, but then the numbers don't continue it.I guess I wish ours was more random, which some are. ... Editorial Review

Eeee-ooo!Eeee-ooo!Eeee-ooo! Grownups may call it a buggy, but everytoddler will recognize this red, 21-inch-long, sit-astride-and-push vehicle as a fire truck. The yellow seat is 9 inches off the floor and lifts up to provide storage for 18 colorful, alphanumeric blocks, each 1.5 cubic inches. Up front there's a big white steering wheelthat turns the front wheels. The dashboard has lots of big, colorful buttons. Two gaugestickers and a screwed-down walkie-talkie are there just for looks, but everything elsegives a noisy response. Kids can toy with ABC buttons, 1-2-3 buttons, a Mommy face(Let's sing our ABCs), a Daddy face (Let's count to 10), and a special button forthe entire Alphabet song. The starter key offers a good approximation to a real startingengine. The gear lever makes a sound that suggests some maintenance is needed soon, but a 2-year-old will love it. --Richard Farr ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Durable and longlasting fun
My son received this ABC buggy when he was only 3 months old. It was a little to big for him at first of course, but as soon as he could stand he loved it. Now he is 31/2 and still enjoys it, but now also shares it with his 1 year old sister who enjoys learning to walk behind it. The "ABC" song can get a bit annoying because they love it so much they keep playing it over and over again. It is always a big hit with any little visitors to our house too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun...but how are the kids supposed to open the seat?
My daughter got this when she was 15 months old.She truly enjoys ride on toys so she really likes it.She enjoys hitting the button to repeatedly hear the ABC song. The only problem with it is the yellow cover on the seat.It should open and close easily to use the blocks inside. However, due to the orientation of the seat and the way the cover opens, it is difficult to do.It also does not open all of the way and it has to be held open.Imagine a 15 month old lifting the cover with one hand and holding it open while she bends over to pick up a block with the other hand. Not a pretty sight.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for toddlers
We purchased this car for our son for his 1st birhtday. He used it for a walker until he was able to walk on his own and then he raced around the yard or house with it.He loves all the buttons and knobs and nosies. He would push the ABC song button over and over and over and dance along the side of the car.He is now 2 1/2 and he still loves it.Rides around on it all the time and loves to put all his cars and things into the seat compartment. The blocks were great too.We would definately buy this one again. ... It's hard to think of a better first stuffed animal for a baby than thissoft and friendly little pooch from the plush experts at Gund. He's incrediblysoft already and will likely become more so by occasional trips through themachine-wash cycle and a healthy amount of snuggling. He sports an attachedfabric collar that says "My First Puppy," a brown nose, a white circle aroundhis left eye, and a light blue coat. We know that dogs generally don't come inlight blue, but we doubt kids will mind. --John Moe ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute puppy dog
My older 2 1/2 year old son has a little blankie that he loves, and I predict that "Wags" will be the same for my now almost 4 month old son. This toy is very nice and is made in a way that I feel safe keeping him in my sons crib. My son Rielly is so happy to have his doggy with him. He holds him all the time and he loves sucking on "Wags"'s tail. My other son Carter is in love with this dog too. He thinks Wags is just so cute. I cant see how anyone couldnt adore this puppy, and he comes in pink too! Wags is just the right size for babies hands and also washes GREAt. I have 2 so I never am in search for a Wags. Wags fits perfectly into any diaperbag and my son just wouldnt be the same kid without Wags. We even took pictures with Wags since he accents Rielly's pale blue eyes so well. I love wags and wish everyone had the oppertunity to have one too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Our twins loveys, both named "Blue"
Both of my 20 month old sons have "loveys" and this puppy is Nicks AND Jamies. They got him as a shower present (well I actually got two) and they have both loved them since about 2 months old. I felt that these puppies were both very safe and has "breathable" stuffing (it wouldnt sufficate them) that this was their crib toys. Nick and Jamie sleep with them and bring them everywhere we go. "Blue" fits great in my diaper bag and washes VERY well. Its one of the only things that will get Nick and Jamie to sleep at night (along with the pacifier... uhg). My boys like holding the ear(s) by their noses and sort of "smell" them with a pacifire in their mouths, thats how I can tell they are really tired. These dogs go into all sorts of places (playhouses, grandmas, outside, down the slide) and my sons always start off the mornings in their highchairs really drowzy with "blue" and a pacifire. when I say it goes everywhere, thats what i mean, EVERYWHERE. My boys insist on bringing these in the car and stroller, I dont know what I would do without these toys! I wouldnt really recomend this puppy for playing with, but for one of those lovey toys that kids get attatched to, this is great! I give these as shower gifts to all of my friends (this comes in pink too). Our "Blue"s doent look so hot anymore, but I am online looking for more "back-up"... I think they will have their "blue"s for years to come, they are the perfect size, adorable, no bead eyes or noeses that can come off and become a chocking hazard, and they are VERY very soft and small for little hands. I would recomend any expecting mother to get one, and if you dont know the sex of your baby, buy the pink and blue! They are just so precious and they are so portable, I'm glad my sons chose these for loveys

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect size for little hands!
I gave this ultra-soft puppy to my grandson. He sleeps with his blue puppy every night.I have read that some other reviewers were disappointed that the puppy was smaller than they thought it was going to be.I wasn't disappointed in the least because it's the perfect size for little hands to grasp and cuddle.I'd say it's exactly the right size for a first plush toy.And it is extremely soft... just what you would want to cuddle yourself!I believe that this puppy is also available in pink, for anyone who might be looking for a gift for a baby girl. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Not a winner in our house
We were very displeased with this product. The pieces come off way too easy and the worst part about it is that when baby starts to tumble backwards the toy comes with!My daughter also cannot use the toy to pull up on either. We got a much better playskool one for $5 at a yard sale.Sorry I wasted my money on the other one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Doors come off!
My son loves this toy.He got it for Xmas, and is still playing with it even though he is an excellent walker. The problem is that the "doors" come off very easily, leaving a groove perfect for my little one to climb onto! The cart is also so lighweight that even before he could walk on his own, he was able to pick it up and fall when putting it down sideways.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I absolutley love this walker (and so does my son)!My son is now 10 months old and loves to walk.We received the FP Brilliant Basics Walker as a gift, but we soon found out that it wasn't for us.It was lightweight and flimsy.Everytime my son tried to use it, it would push ahead of him and he would end up on his knees or on his face...not exactly the right way to help a baby learn to walk.

My MIL bought our son this walker and he just loves it!The speed/traction control feature is a must!Gone are the days of him falling on his face or to his knees. He can actually walk across the room with this and it doesn't fly out from under him.

Yes, the mailbox doors come off very easily, but so what?!My son likes to take them off and play with them. When the doors are off, you can put a favorite toy there instead. My son loves to push around his stuffed animals.

Overall....great, sturdy walker for the price.Very pleased! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Made Puzzle
The quality of this puzzle is outstanding! The wood is thicker than most puzzles and the sturdy knobs and high-quality finish will make this last for many years. The farm theme appeals to my daughter and she enjoys playing with this.Pictures underneath the puzzle pieces make it easier for little ones to complete.I highly recommend this puzzle.

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves this puzzle
My son received this for his 1st birthday and loves it.It has been a great teaching tool too.I ask him where is the duck and he picks up the duck piece, he is even getting pretty good at putting the pieces back in place - in only a month.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heirloom Quality Puzzle
Lights, Camera, Interaction! makes beautiful products and this puzzle is no exception. The wood makes it durable and attractive, the pictures under the pieces make it appropriate for babies as young as 12 months, and the knobs are easy for small hands to manage. The pieces are cut to fit perfectly, so that they slide into place easily once the child has aligned it correctly.

My 12 month old baby is beginning to enjoy this, and my three year old still plays with it too.I can't recommend the toys and puzzles made by this company, also known as Melissa and Doug, highly enough. They are all excellent quality and provide fun learning opportunities for kids. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I wish I could say that my son liked this toy. He's had it for several months now and he doesn't do anything with it except throw it on the floor, so I guess it's durable since it hasn't shattered yet.He likes it when I spin it on the floor like a top, but is unable to do this himself and nothing else on the toy is interesting to him.I am starting to be convinced that the squiggly bars that arc over the toy that have little doo-hickeys to slide back and forth are eye candy for adults to make us think there's something going on here, but kids are not so easily fooled.

4-0 out of 5 stars entertaining
This toy came as part of a 3 piece kit, each piece for a different age stage. Even when it is supposed to be a toy for ages 12mo up, this was the toy that interested my 6 months old son. He loves to slide the pieces from side to side and to spin its little ball. A nice toy to have ... Read more
