5-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy a Leapster without one!
I was scanning through the Leapster games looking for something new for my daughter and noticed that this rechargable battery kit didn't have a perfect 5 stars.I was shocked! It has been *fabulous* for us!I got my daughter her Leapster last October (for her 3rd birthday) with this rechargable kit and she's been using it frequently ever since. It was a very easy install for me...just take off the old back and put the new setup on.It sets easily on the cradle, although I do wiggle it a bit after I set it down to make sure it has a good connection.I'm not sure if I need to do it, but I do it out of habit just in case.

I personally have not noticed any problems with the light going out before the unit has fully charged, but I don't watch it closely either. It must be working correctly though, because the charge lasts AMAZINGLY long, which I find incredible for this kind of a unit.I expected to have to charge it every few days, but it's been more like every MONTH OR TWO!My daughter gets daily use out of her Leapster, but it's only during car trips (maybe 30-45 minutes per day).Nonetheless, that's pretty incredible battery power in my opinion.

My son is quite jealous of his older sister's Leapster, and I can see now that I will be buying another one soon.I can assure you I will NOT be buying one without this recharging kit however!

4-0 out of 5 stars leapster recharging system
I love this product. We had no problems at all installing and using.I recently bought a second leapster for my younger son (the fighting was outrageous) and was pretty upset about not being able to buy battery packs and the recharger backs separately.I read the manual and it mentioned that after 300 charges or so the battery pack will lose power and need to be replaced.Folks, this means that we have to buy a whole new recharging system.I called the company and they told me that the market reasearch found that it wasn't "cost effective" to sell the batteries by themselves???That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. What are we to do with the extra dock and back?Throw them in the landfill???
I think that Leapfrog has done wonders to the toy industry. My children own just about everything that they have produced.I have been very happy with everything we've tried but, I do find this issue disturbing.Having to buy an entire new recharging system because you need new battries is neither cost effective or environmentaly friendly.I believe that we should all contact the company and get this isssue changed.Besides that, it is a fantastic accessory.A definate must have for any leapster owner.

1-0 out of 5 stars Burned Up Unit!!
This item we *thought* would be an awesome alternative to batteries but it wasn't! After a few weeks of using it, it actually burnt up my daughters Leapster, We were able to exchange the Leapster threw the company but still out the $25.00 we paid for the charger when we got it. I am not sure if I am going to purchase another one either. Company says there has been a handful of complaints about them...we will see if they actually upgrade them before I do actually buy a replacement. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This durable little unit packs in a lot of functions, all of them eminently kid-friendly. Most basically, it’s a tape player that can be easily operated with big, colorful buttons, but it’s also a kind of karaoke machine, letting kids use the included microphone to sing along with the music, or sing a cappella. As if that wasn’t enough, there are multiple settings to warp your voice to sound like a monster, robot, bunny, or Martian. You might have to use your imagination to hear how some of the settings sound like what they’re supposed to (and what does a bunny sound like anyway?), but once you start experimenting with Voice Warp, it’s addictive fun even if you’re a big person. Don’t worry though, you can turn the filter off to hear your normal voice. --David Stoesz ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars very durable
I have the older version of this player. My daughter got it for Christmas when she was 3 and she still plays with it. (she is now 10) Her brother has also used it and now my Granddaughter has started to play with it. It has been bounced up and down stairs and even banged against the wall a time or two. It still plays and sounds good. My kids have enjoyed it so much that my Granddaughter is getting one of her own for her birthday this month.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Voice Machine!
We bought this recorder for our son when he turned 3. I wanted him to have freedom to play his own tapes and also the fun of doing the cool voices. I didn't realize just how much he would actually like this. Not only does he carry it around and talk on it constantly- so does his 1 yr. sister (and his parents, too!). We have laughed so much playing with this as a family. I was hesitant about purchasing this at first but now I am so glad I did!

2-0 out of 5 stars Playback broke very quickly
As at least one other person noted, there is sometimes too much feedback when singing in to the mike. The unit seams built very strongly and is very heavy (too heavy to be carried and played with at the same time), but after very little use, the play button has stopped functioning on the tape player. ... Sally, Stevie, Stanley, Sophie, Stewie, and Sid are six colorful, lightweight bowling pins--each with their own personality--that talk to kids while they bowl. Taunts such as "C'mon!Roll the ball already!" get kids started, and phrases such as "Whew! That was close," keep them aiming for the pins. Bells, whistles, and cheers are heard if a spare or strike is bowled. The tan plastic base has six colored circles to hold the pins in place, but it is not required that colors match up for a game to begin. Silly 6 Pins only keeps score one frame (two balls) at a time, so keep a pad of paper nearby if you're playing as a family. Three AA batteries are required, but not included. --Pam Lauer ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for the whole family!
My little boy got to open this on Christmas Eve, his grandparents got it for him.My little boy was so shocked and excited when he saw the game!He had wanted this game for several months but I was'nt sure he'd like it as much as he wanted it but it was one of those games that I was wrong about- He loves it!I have to admit it is really a fun game.Thebowling pens shake and talk to you as you play and they say funny, cute phrases. My little boy who is almost 4 can set the game up him self and play it without anyone else or if he wants we can play with him.I like games that he can understand and be able to play without having a second player all the time.It makes this game even more a good purchase because being an only child there is'nt many games that are like this.He loves this game and still plays it a lot even 3 1/2 months later.I would reccommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars FUN FOR ALL AGES
I was reluctant to purchase this toy for my son's third birthday simply because he has never been bowling or knew anything about it.However, based on your reviews I decided to try it out.My son is not easy to keep busy and this was the trick! This toy is a blast! He loves to set the pins up just as much as he loves to knock them down.He plays it with his 12 year old sister and it seems to be the only time that they don't bug eachother. They have a ball!we all do, the voices are cute, but I wish it was louder.Easy to clean up, and just plain fun!I think we will get lots of milage out of this game.

The Pixter is like a personal digital assistant (PDA) for kids. But instead of storing boring appointments and phone numbers, they get to draw, do puzzles, and learn a little, too. The Pixter is about the size of a small book, and has a pretty solid weight to it. It's made out of brightly colored and durable plastic. The main action of this toy is drawing with an attached stylus. The Color Pixter offers much better graphics then the black and white version, which comes in handy with activities like Paint-by-Numbers and Connect-the-Dots. You can draw a picture free form, or you can use one of the starter backgrounds. There are tool buttons, like on a PDA, that give you access to fun stamps, special effects, and the eraser button. You can also save your creation in the Pixter's memory. There are some boppy tunes playing along with all this creative activity, but luckily for parents, there's also a jack for headphones and a volume adjuster. An expansion slot on top of the Pixter accepts ROM-based expansion cards that contain additional software and games. Requires 4 "AA" batteries. (Not included.) --Megan Sullivan ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy Pixter...Go for a Leapster
My 3-year-old loves her Leapster and plays with it in the car on long trips as well as in the house when I have to do things that leave her on her own. That's why, when I saw what looked like really fun and educational games for the Pixter, I put it on her wish list for her birthday. It'll be twice as much fun when there are more games from which to choose, I thought. But it's turned out to be a major disappointment. The screen is grainy, the interface is not intuitive, and one really has to press hard to get the screen to recognize the stylus. It's not easy even for an adult! The drawings skip and you can't drag items once they're placed: You never know where they're going to be centered before you place them. The games are not as educational as those on the Leapster, either. We bought Global Passport, Creative Genius, Barbie Fashion Show, Pet Shop, and Symphony Painter (that one is the worst!). She's using the Pet Shop a little, but that's it. Don't waste your money. Go for the Leapster...It's elegant and fun with a clear picture and sound. Now I wish I'd taken to heart the previous reviewer who bought the Leapster instead because I'm stuck with all this expensive useless nonsense. I had also bought the math, Barbie writing and Clifford cartridges, but I'm going to return those because they were bought in a brick and mortar store and haven'tyet been opened.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun!
How cool is this?! A color computer for little hands. It is a great set.The game cartridges that go along make it just as exciting as any gaming system. The basics to it are drawing and other artistic works such as stickers, shapes and fill-in colors. My son got one at the age of 4 and loved it.He broke the first one by falling on the screen, but we bought a new one because of the use of the first one. Now, nearly 2 years later, he is expanding his artistic talents by drawing with different styled lines, creating his own coloring themes and the like. Works great, day or night, as the screen is lit.We often take ours in the car because of the headphone option and volume control.

1-0 out of 5 stars Get a Leapster instead
I was very disapointed in the Pixter. We returned ours and got a Leapster. The graphics and controls are so much better on the Leapster and the games are much more fun and educational. Also the Leapster is much more intuitive, a child can pick up a Leapster and figure everything out - there is even a "hint" button if the child gets stuck. A child that gets stuck with the Pixter can only look at the grainy screen and wonder where they went wrong. This toy is not worth the money. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Well-designed with lots of terrific detail, Learning Resources' Calculator Cash Register completely satisfies a young child's hunger to play with bills, coins, cash drawers, and big numbers. The chiming cash register features a built-in solar calculator as its keypad, thus allowing kids to act as bankers, shopkeepers, and accountants all at once. A large cash drawer holds life-sized bills in four denominations (1, 5, 10, and 20), and four coin holders make room for embossed plastic pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. There is even a credit card slot that dings when you correctly slide the faux VISA card through it.A suggested-activities booklet is included. Requires a 1.5V button cell battery (included) to make the chiming noise. No assembly required. Winner of awards from Dr. Toy, FamilyFun Magazine, and Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid, Great Toy
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter last year and she has played with it all year.It works well and the voice is not too annoying or loud. When you are cleaning up the money you can open the cash drawer without the voice coming on which, believe me, is a huge plus.It is a real calculator and when she presses numbers it says them out loud which is educational. And when she presses the minus key really fast over and over again, it says "Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine" which cracks us all up :)

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the funniest toy ever
When I got this toy i played with it for such along time and still do. You only spend $29.99 on it and it is money well spent. You make the right choice if you get this toy. The age group i would say is probably 5-whenever. Let me tell you parents what when my mom and dad got this for me i lovedit and it made me happy for so long.Three words for this toy.
MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!!!!!! FUN
so you should get this toy. KNOW dont think twice get it...NOW

5-0 out of 5 stars A preschool favorite
I'm buying this toy for my son's 3rd birthday because he makes a beeline to it everytime we go to our parent-child preschool class. He usually sets up a toy phone nearby, too. I get to be the customer and bring a basket of toy food to him which he "scans" on the notepad area. It's nice when toys leave something to the imagination. He loves the play bills and coins and pretending to make change.I believe that this toy will grow with my child and still be fun for him in a few years.

I figure that if this toy has survived daily use by multiple 2-4 year olds, it will survive around our house. If it doesn't, then I will update this posting!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Toddlers
My brother bought my daughter an Elmo VideoNow disk for Christmas thinking it was a regular DVD. We waited until now to get her the player as she was just barely 2 in December (6 months can make a lot of difference at this age). We just got her the player and she loves it. She figured out how it works in no time flat. She knows colors and shapes so the colored, shaped buttons sort of reinforce what she already knows. It seems very durable but I suggest getting the carrying case to help protect against spills, etc. It also has a handle and a place to store a few extra disks. One reviewer was disappointed that it did not come with a disk but ours did. It came with some previews of Nick Jr shows and a full length episode of Dora. As for the batteries, it does drain them but like another reviewer said, get rechargables. I think this is a nice alternative to a DVD player for a child so small. Even though it's a bit expensive (I only paid $50 for ours at Walmart) it is still cheaper than a portable DVD and more durable too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great toy! But... make sure you buy the videos
My daughter has the video now, so my son 3, wanted one too!My parents bought it for him for potty training, but they did not know that it didn't come with any video's.He opened it, we put batteries in it and he could not use it.It didn't even come with a preview disc.He was very disappointed.
The toy is great, however it is quite expensive not to come with a disc for the kids to try.

5-0 out of 5 stars This thing is great!
My 2 yr old daughter thinks this is the greatest thing since cheerios! Very durable, easy for little ones to use, and safe to operate. All of her favorite shows from spongebob and the wiggles to Elmo. This item is great for road trips too. A little expensive, but worth the price when you see your childs face light up. Grab the disks when you can, they are very popular and hard to find! ... Read more

My 9 yr daughter got this for her birthday. She loves it.I love it.The cartridges are easy to remove and install. The unit itself is easy to handle. And the variety of software available makes it a fun, and educational game. The best of both worlds. Now that my daughter has one, my 3 yr old son wants one.I'm afraid his birthday will be a repeat of her's, gift wise, anyway.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment for toddlers!
My son got the Video Now Jr. for Christmas and it has been a big hit.

Some of the nice features of the Jr. include:
*Bigger Buttons for smaller fingers. (Play, Stop, FF, Rev)
*Double slide latches to open cover. This makes it more difficult for little ones to open the unit and mess with disk or damage the lens.
*Looks and feels durable.Ours has been dropped plenty of times and keeps working.

It does use batteries faster than other toys, but it hasn't been an issue since we keep recharables around.

Age two might be a little young for this toy.My son like to use the buttons like a video game (making elmo say the same 2 words over and over and over) . . . he also likes to tap it to make it skip. But these things are more annoying than harmful to the Video Now Jr.

Overall this is a great toy.My son loves it and takes it everywhere we go.The disks available are great (Wiggles, Sesame Stree, Dora, Blues Clues.)It also play regular Video Now Color disks. It is one of the most used toys in our house!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great toy!
This is so handy for short trips and Drs. appts. My 5 year old loves it. It doesn't suck the life out of batteries like I thought it would and it is so durable. It has been dropped plenty of times and still works perfectly. The volume controls make it so that you don't feel the need to throw it out the window. It really is a great item that will last!

3-0 out of 5 stars The fun doesn't last long
The life of the batteries in this toy is about 4 to 5 hours of playing time.Once the kids watch a few videos the batteries need to be replaced immediately.Make sure you stock up on batteries because this device requires several at a time and you will be replacing them several times a week.

Also after two months of using it... the screen completely went out on this device...it now only plays the sound with no video. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Deal Shopper Dad
I feel this is a very good product whick keeps my kids occupied, even during those long car trips. The color screen is a definite plus and a winner. Although the basic games that come with it are the same as the original pixter, color certainly adds to it.And with the adjuster cartridge connector, the kids are able to use even the old pixter cartridges.

I first had the Original Pixter, then got the color pixter for my 7 yr old and now I'm thinking of getting another one for my 3 yr old. The price is a little high and it would be nice if it came down or atleast,if they could add one or 2 cartridges with the starter pack.

But when the kids are sitting quietly playing with the color pixter and when u get the 'much needed quiet time after a long day', I would say its well worth it.

The batteries last a while too. And,there is a undo feature...Where u click for home, under the 'save to,open file' images, there is an undo arrow. Hope this helps.

Dinosaur devotees will be roaring over this radio-controlledTyrannosaurus Rex as he growls and roars, moves his head, thrashes histail, and even blinks his beady yellow eyes. He can also turnrealistically and walk forward a few steps on a hard surface, growlingand roaring at the same time, if you choose. T-Rex is 11 inches tall and21 inches from nose to tail, with textured, flexible brown rubber skinthat bends and moves. The controller is shaped like a stone with twobone-shaped joysticks to control the dinosaur's walking and turning.Buttons on the side of the controller make T-Rex move his head and frontfeet, snap his jaws, roar, and blink his eyes. The controller slidesopen in the middle for use, and you have to be careful not to pinch yourfingers when you snap it shut. T-Rex requires a total of six AAbatteries, two for the controller and four inside the dinosaur, and thebattery compartment inside the T-Rex is rather difficult to access.Despite these small drawbacks, this dino is one cool dude that willthrill any kid in the midst of the inevitable dinosaur phase. -- Marcie Bovetz ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed on Christmas
The only toy our 5 year old wanted was a t-rex with batteries. How disappointing when we turned it on and nothing happened. We sent "Roarie" back to the "North Pole" aka amazon, for replacement. when the new one arrived, Joy was immediately replaced by tears when the new one stopped functioning after less than 2 minutes! This toy is fragile to say the most.

CONSUMER BEWARE!My five-year old son received this for Christmas. It was great while it worked, a whole two days! What a huge upset!I didn't see any educational value to it, except the education of disappointment from a fragile toy. We didn't have any trouble putting batteries in.Although the feel and look of the dinosaur is real and unique, a stuffed animal would have been more educational and less disappointing!I guess it will become a figurine on a shelf!I'm late in writing this review, because I just wouldn't give up hope, until now!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantasticasaurus!
This was a Christmas gift for my just about 4yo son who is very much intrigued with dinosaurs, his favorite being T-Rex!I was very impressed, as was he, at it's "realness".Very life like when it gets "ROARING" and stomping around!Great gift for a dino lover..just keep batteries handy. There is a switch on the dinosaur that you must turn "off" and you must close up the hand held remote as well....try explaining that to a 4yo! ... Read more

Editorial Review

This spy pen set will please young secret agent wannabes with its sleeksilver design and multiple functions that transform a working pen into alight-activated motion alarm, a flashlight, or a magnifying glass with bothlong-distance and close-up magnification lenses. The set includes a sturdy, silverplastic case to hold all the different components, including the large pen thatslides into the side of the case. The end of the pen unlocks the storage case, providing another secret function that kids will like. The pen's motion alarm isits best feature, with a nonthreatening beeping sound that won't be too loud forthe parents or younger siblings. A clearly written instruction sheet explainsall the secret spy functions, augmented with diagrams that will help even thenonmechanical parent outfitting a junior spy. Two AAA batteries are required(not included). --Marcie Bovetz, mother and former children's librarian ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad not great just fine
I got this toy last year for christmas and it was a lot of fun.that is until I lost the scope first then the flashlight then the pen now all I have left is the motion detector(wich does not wok without the pen):[.so it is a good toy as long as you dont louse evey thing:)

3-0 out of 5 stars Dont let this toy be in the hands ofyour younger sibbling!
This toy has lots of small parts so if you have any young brothers, sisters, or friends, keep the spy pen away from them. (The parts are bound to get lost if you do.)The motion sensor is super sensitive and also super loud.(If you dont want to alert the enemy that the sensor has been triped dont use it.)Also the batterries are very hard to get in.(It took me about 20 minutes to instal them!) Other than that the toy has a great flashlight, telescope, and has a spare ink cartridge.I'd say it would entertain you for about 2 years.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good not Great
This toy is nice and has lots of things... the flashlight is great it works perfectly and i scare my 3 yr old sister with the motion sensor but the telescope isnt as good... the magnifier works properly oh i forgot about this green, wiggly thing that you put on the flashlight to write in the dark... i gave it four stars because the case opens without unlocking it ... Editorial Review

This microcosm of Neopets is a portable world for your pocket. Meridell, the land of heroes and legends that was long hidden within Neopia has now been uncovered and is delightfully rendered here in miniature. The pocket Neopet world folds up into a small gold colored pod that you can take anywhere. Open up the case and you can play with your three Neopets: Lupe, Draik, and Lxi. Name them, choose their personalities and preferences, and then proceed to play with, feed, and generally care for them. The sensors in the electronic ports they sit in know which pet you're playing with. There are six games you can play on the small LCD screen with four toggle buttons--they aren't the most engaging games, but winning them scores you points you'll need to buy food and toys for your pet. If you don't give your pet everything it needs, it will run away. Of course, you can always reprogram it to come back to you. There are three little slots to tuck the pets neatly into when you close up the case and hit the road. --Megan Sullivan ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Mystery Island neopets
This review is supposed to be for Meridell:pocket neopet, but I have a Mystery Island pocket neopet. I like it a lot becuase I love kougras and Mystery island. I think you should buy this toy because it teaches kids responsibility. And it has four of the best neopets games. one of the four is a slots game. Anyway, I think that all of them would be a great toy.

sincerly,

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this toy! It's sooooo cool!
I have a Aisha and the kacheek, my Aisha is already 4 days old! and while playing in the Lost Desert, it found 2,000 NP on the ground! I now have at least 20,000 NP of hard work, I feed mine two times a day, and gave it a petpet, but somehow the petpet was gone the last time I checked :(, but at least my pet hasn't died! I love this toy, if you have a pet and love it and like to spoil it, but can't take it everywhere with you, get a pocket neopet! I'm in Middle school, I'm an 8th grader and I take my pet to school everyday, I'm 14 years old and have been playing neopets for about 2 years (almost) if other people say when you leave it on when you sleep and it runs away, that's so not true, I leave mine on all night and it turns off by itself but the clock keeps going, I my pet, it's one of the best pocket pet I could ever ask for! I love this pet, neopets rocks! [...] I stongly recommend this toy, it'll be fun! I'm working on keeping my pet alive for 365 days (1 year)! If you love neopets and you'd like to take care of them 24/7, then you can! Buy a pocket neopet today!

5-0 out of 5 stars WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?
It's a great toy! I got it for my 13th B-day... i know the graphics are not soo good but what could you expect for 20$? It has 6 great games including Turmac Roll, Kiss the mortog, Ultimate Bullsye, Turtle Racing and a new game Negg drop! As you rule each level you get more NP's and a trophy! It's perfect for loooong trips!!! Comes with 3 neopets, a bank account, 3 shops (including petpet shop) also i hear people are saying that its hard to get np but if try hard you will manage to get enought np's to buy things and make your neopets happy so they dont run away (happened to me only 2 times). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best software...if you're 8-13 years old
This software is great... but I agree the age range is off... WAY off. But I am in the 8-13 year old group so I find it very fun. Some of the games are battleship, mazes, pinball and the game where you bounce the ball on the stick and you move it back and forth to catch the ball when it falls.
Overall, I liked it allot.
If you have a smart kid that does not get fresturated easily by hard-to-move pieces when you're trying to move something.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of all color Pixter games
Challenging and fun for the whole family even my 4 year old daughter-that's who it was originally for.The Arcade games are clear and the sounds are cool. When you play the sunken ship pirate game against the "computer", my 4 year old thinks that there is actually a pirate inside the pixter, playing her. This game and the Barbie Fashion show are her favorite and keep her entertained for hours-at bedtime and in the car.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Age Group is off.

Kids won't be afraid of the dark with this heavy-duty flashlight by their beds. It looks just like the one you carry in your car, but it's made for kids. For one thing, it shines in white, green, or red light with the turn of a switch, and it has an automatic shutoff. If the bar underneath the handle isn't pressed down, the flashlight will shut off in 30 seconds. It also has a manual on/off switch, so kids can feel like they're in total control. Mom or Dad will need to help install the batteries with a screwdriver, but after that kids will be off to explore the darkest corners of the closets or on a jungle safari through the living room. --Lynne Sampson ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great portable and compact flashlight for 3-yr-old hands!
We bought this flashlight for our 3-yr-old grandson, after noticing that during visits he loved to play with our 'grown-up' one. While ours was too heavy and awkward for him to manage easily, this miniature version was perfect for him! We did buy the 'Three Color Fun Light' from OneStepAhead at the same time. He found the 'Fun Light' a little more, well, ...Fun! Its multi-functional capacity really fascinated him and kept him entertained. But the 'Color Glow Flashlight' however, is easier to bring on trips and takes up less room to pack, doesn't run low on batteries quite as fast... and is, of course, simpler to use!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for little flashlight theives!
my almost 2 year old recently discovered our flashlight. living in an area prone to blackouts, i didn't like the idea of her playing with it and flattening the batteries. so i came across this product, and its just perfect for her! it switches off after 30 seconds so the batteries will last. and its educational. she has learned about the colours red and green, and says 'red!' and 'geeen!' when the colour appears on her flashlight. a fabulous alternative to flat batteries in your grownup flashlight.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best money spent so far
We got this flashlight for my son when he was a little over 2 and he is now over 4 and uses it every night in bed.It has been camping, moved 4 times, dropped, lost and found and is as good as the day we bought it.I LOVE IT, and so does my son.It fades slowly, so not to waste batteries is bright enough for him to not be scared. The perfect gift for a toddler!! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
My step-son bought this for my daughter last year (she was five). She was so excited she couldn't wait to get it out of the box, and when I looked at all the activities I thought "wow, this is both a really great intro to a computer and a fun learning toy for her."She played with it for exactly one hour and then put it down and told me she had a headache.Since then she has tried on and off to use it, but she only gets frustrated.Reason:The screen is very tiny and the lighting of the screen is very dull which makes the child have to squint to see it.She was so disappointed she was practically in tears.I think in the year she's had it she's played with it a handful of times and always tells me she can't see it, and she gets very frustrated because the games are very interesting to her and she would really love to play them if only she could stare at the screen for longer than an hour at a time.

Come on, Mattel, I expect better than that both from you and the Barbie line.Barbie products are typically better made and more expensive than other toys, and parents buy them because their daughters are crazy for Barbie--as I was when I was a child.I don't mind being "locked-in" to buy a product line that is pricy if my daughter loves it and will use it, but this was a terrible waste of my step-son's money. With all the technology of today, and considering the size of this toy, couldn't you find some way to make the screen bigger so kids could enjoy it?

The only one who gets any use out of it is my 3 year old son who gets a kick out of Barbie's voice when he presses the buttons, but has no interest in the screen--and that's the only reason I haven't thrown it out yet. That's just sad for a Barbie product.

2-0 out of 5 stars couldn't return it fast enough
Yuck. We didn't like it at all. We got it for our 4 1/2 year old. It's cute looking before you turn it on but that's all it's got going for it, in my opinion. The sound is awful. The screen is hard to see. And the games are way too complicated and confusing for the age it's recommended for. The child definitely needs to be able to read to use it. It was such a poor toy that we decided to just return it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great learning fun!

With this mini refrigerator, kids can enjoy their favorite refrigerated snacks right in their own rooms or take them on long car trips without worrying about spoiling. The fridge fits six cans of soda and, with the top rack installed, fits four sodas, a sandwich and a few pieces of fruit. To open the fridge, kids must rotate the handle before pulling it, which ensures that the door won't spontaneously open while in transport. The fridge weighs a lightweight 8.2 pounds when empty and has a handy carrying handle on its top for easily moving it from room to car and back. A few sheets of removable decals are also included to personalize the fridge a little more. This mini refrigerator includes a 12-volt car adaptor and has an on/off switch in addition to a plug. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!
I bought this mini fridge ar TRU about a month ago. It suddenly stopped working completely. I tried to exchange it for a new one since my son really liked it, but TRU says it has been discontinued. They were unable to exchange it since they had no more, so if you decide to purchase one and get the good fortune of having it break like ours did, you're stuck with it. Also, if you call the company to return it under the manufacturer's warranty, they expect you to ship it to them at your expense AND pay them $18 to return it to you. Not worth the hassle. If you're looking for a mini fridge, just pay the extra money for a name-brand product.

5-0 out of 5 stars No more warm water!!!!
I am 10 years old and I LOVE this product. I didn't get this because of a neccesity, I just thought it would be nice to have for water in the middle of the night.
BUT, if you don't want a big ugly green stain on your refridgerator, then DO NOT put the sticker on the refridgerator that it comes with, the moment I got it, I put the sticker on, after a while I decided I didn't want it on. That sticker after 5 seconds had stuck on and would not come off! After I finally did, it left a big green ugly stain. But overall I love this product, I put water, and sometimes even chocolate candy in there, I trust it with a lot of stuff. Although, it is not the best idea to put it in a room, it makes the weirdest whirly sound, but after a while you get pretty used to it.
I would reccomend this highly to anyone in an office. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad of a deal
I recently got a juicebox from my parents for my b-day, and it is good. There are a few complaints.
1. It only supports a 128 and 44 kbps bit rate. Its easy to simply download the right one, but its a hassle to redownload all your songs.
2. Putting pictures on it is a pain. You cant just use windows explorer (which is what i like to do) like you can with the mp3s. I never thought that this was a big deal, but i know people might care.
3. The memory card it comes with is WAY to small. 32 megs will let you put about 8 songs on there. I bough a big card though, so it works.
Considering how cheap this is, it is definately a good deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Same Thing as an ipod but better and affordable for us kids
Juice Box is so much better than an ipod because it's almost the same thing but better and afforable. I saved my Christmas money on it and I loved it I also bought the mp3 starter kit which was really helpful. It has a backlight and it's nice for us kids 2 enjoy. It has a bigger screen than a ipod. You could buy small chips to listen and watch at an affordable price. My parents and I were really satisfied. Now I listen 2 it whenever I want at anytime I want. That's why I think that parents should buy this 4 whoever wants a nice affordable mp3.

5-0 out of 5 stars so much better than video now
why is juice box better than video now well the screen is a lot bigger. it has a mp3 player video now has no mp3 or music thing on it. you can look at pictures on it. it is so much smaller than video now. video now is huge and looks like a baby toy. juice box looks way cooler. there is so much more stuff that is better on juice box. get a juice box it is great. tack my word for it. ... Heads up, future spies of the world! Here is your first step on the road to super-spy status: the ultimate in high-tech secret communication. Two headset LCD displays and two mini keyboard transmitters (with adjustable wrist straps) allow users to send text messages up to 200 feet and through walls. Just put on the headset, aligning the eye piece so that you can see the tiny screen, type the message on the communicator keypad (up to 22 characters at once), send to your fellow agent, and wait for a reply. How will you know when a reply is coming? A red light will flash in the eyepiece and the message will scroll across your screen. Good-bye, walkie-talkies; hello, eye-link communicators! 4-0 out of 5 stars ok toy
this toy is only good if u love spy stuff. one problem i hav wit this is sometimes when u turn it on there is a black line across the screen. overal a great toy but some flaws.

4-0 out of 5 stars Its Alright
I think the idea of this toy is very cool, but it isnt all that great. The only reason i didnt give this 5 stars is becasue, when you are sending a message and the other person sends a message at the same time, you dont see either of the messages. I think it would be awesome if the keyboard- like thing was glow in the dark, so you can be in the dark and sending messages to a friend. I give this overall a 4 out of 5.
