5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game!!
My daughter got this game for her 3rd birthday. She and her 4-year-old sister love to play this game daily!!Now I am buying more to give as birthday gifts to friends/family.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Gift that Kids Love
I bought this game for my children several years ago on the advice of the owner of my favorite toy store.I love board games, and my children were 3 and 5 then, and just starting to enjoy them as well.Well, we couldn't get the kids to stop playing Zingo. They played quietly for more than 2 hours.Since you can play with up to 8 players, we have had lots of neighborhood kids playing the game out on the front steps.Since then, I have bought at least 10 Zingo games -- I have given them to all my children's friends and I always keep a few around to give out for birthday gifts.Everyone loves this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars great design, great fun
This preschooler variation of the old favorite Bingo is a real winner.

Zingo cards have a 3 by 3 grid that shows pictures and words.Cards have a yellow side (easier, for younger kids) and a red side for the odler ones. The plastic game piece dispenser is well-designed and fun to use.Players shout out to claim a piece, which is then placed over the appropriate square on the player's card. There are several play variations.

Excellent game for the younger set, and fun for older children and adults as well. ... Read more

Editorial Review

The classic carnival game of Whac-a-mole comes right into your house in this energetic and highly silly home version. The inherent cruelty of this game is tempered considerably by how much fun the moles appear to be having while receiving repeated blows to the head with big plastic mallets. It must help that each mole gets to wear a helmet, each a different color. One to four players can join in by whacking the critter in front of them during the "sign in" period at the beginning of the game. The object of the game, naturally, is to whack the moles as they pop up and players can choose to have them light up or not. Parents should be aware of course that they are giving big plastic mallets to very young children and the result will almost certainly be that one kid whacks another before too long. It’s just bound to happen. But if those energies can be re-directed toward the moles, this is a fun and silly way to play inside. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Stopped Working X2
We purchased this game for my son's birthday.Wish I would have read the reviews on here first. We all had quite a bit of fun with the game, but it stopped working after about 1/2 hour of play.I called the manufacturer the next day and they offered to send out a replacement. The person I spoke to on the phone said that I was the first one to call in with this problem. The second one arrived today... Well, my 4 year old was playing with it at the kitchen table while I was cooking supper. It stopped working!UNBELIEVABLE!!Well, my son is now very upset, asking if I still love him, etc.He thinks he broke this thing twice. He was hitting it with the mallet... but isn't that the whole idea?It did not get dropped, thrown or anything like that.I guess we will be returning it and getting a different toy.Too bad, it was pretty fun while it lasted.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitelya winner!
My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday and it has been her favorite toy since then. She loves to imitate the sounds and whac the moles. The solo or easy game is just right for her age.I'd definitely recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Didn't want to get it...but...
I was not excited about getting this toy, but after an hour of begging and pleading (from my HUSBAND), I was finally talked into it.We got it, took it out of the box, and OH MY GOD, it's a blast! My 4 year old has no problem concentrating on it and whacking the moles when they light up.He loves the sounds they make and even my 1 year old tries to play! She grabs the mallet and starts whacking...not necessarily the moles either LOL.The game is a blast! If you want a game everyone can play and enjoy, this is it! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent "intelligent" game for all ages !!
Games has a simple objective -- get the Red car out of traffice. And boy! it is difficult and changelling at higher level. Set up the *cars* as described in cards and figure out a way to get the Red Car out.The best thing is complexity raange from very easy to very hard. So it captures kids interests and provides the extra incentive to move to the next level !!

Simple rules -- once you have placed the cars on the Grid, you can only move them forward or backward.

A great addition to this game is "Rush Hour 2, 3 and 4 Gift Pack" for less than $12/-. Each set has 40 cards or in total 120 different combinations are possible. The highest level is really really difficult. Meant for the "Pros" only !!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Challenging and fun
This game is a real attention-grabber for my 5 year old. Keeps him busy and quiet--great for me, too! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Creative
I look for toys that inspire creative play and exploration of the world. I want toys that have more than a button to push. I also want toys that are fairly quiet and easy to play with for little kids.

This rug fits all of these requirements. The colors are bright. The rug is very sturdy. My one complaint is that it does not roll up into a very small cylinder thus making it take up some space when it's 'put up'. The small matchbox cars fit perfectly on this rug. However, even the toddler cars that are bigger work fine on the roads. IT is big enough that two kids can play with it at the same time without running into each other too often. IT is longer than it is wide. Young arms can reach across the whole rug while pushing a car.

Excellent choice.
Well worth the money.
Enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun play rug
We bought this rug for our 17-month old daughter, who is the recipient of many of the toys we wish *we* had. Right now, she's more enamored of having her own play space than she is interested in the neighborhood aspect. But, the rug is quite fun, with houses, a duck pond, zoo, park, school, etc.--all in slightly "off" perspective. The lanes on the streets are the perfect size for matchbox-sized cars, for when your little one is older, but toddler-sized cars work just as well.

All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. It seems a durable, colorful rug. It's long, providing lots of play space. Its no-slip backing should provide safety on tile or wood floors (though we have it on the carpeted floor of our living room). The best aspect? Our daughter keeps her blocks and cars on the rug--instead of everywhere else underfoot. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 5-12 my eye
I am an 18 year old college student. My girlfriend and I went to a coffee shop after a movie that had this game.We really liked it and played it until the place closed. We had lots of fun, she got it for me for christmas.I may be over the age limit but I DONT CARE!It is a fantastic game... I like it ok.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent game for the whole family
My 7 year old got this for his 6th birthday and both he and his 5 year old brother really enjoy this game.We do as suggested in the rules and roll the dice twice to speed the game up when our youngest is playing. My children have discovered that often times the dinosaur who appears to be the weakest actually wins, so there is no fighting over who gets to be what dinosaur. For those families who prefer board games and reading over the tv, this is the game is for you.Yes, it requires a longer attention span than most games, but so does the average school classroom.CHEERS for a game that doesn't "talk down" to kids!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A mother with two sons that LOVE dinosaurs!
Last year I bought this game for my son for Christmas. Since then we have played this game NUMEROUS times! I think this game has a wonderful educational value. You and your child can be learning and having a blast at the same time. My 6 year old knows all the dinosaurs on the cards and their habitats. This is a game that I would recommend to anyone with a dinosaur lover, but over the age of 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars Communicating without pressure
I was a teenager when my mother first learned about the Ungame and purchased it for us.Being a typical adolescent, I wasn't all that interested in communicating, but I loved to play games. From the day we bought it (it was just a small wallet with two stacks of cards then) it went everywhere with us: in the car, to restaurants, to the park, to my slumber parties... We laughed and joked and answered questions until we were too exhausted to keep our eyes open any longer. My friends adored it, my extended family loved it and I learned to answer my mother's questions.
Now that I am a mother myself, the Ungame will be a fixture in my own house.I can't imagine not having so much fun getting to know my son (and vice versa).

5-0 out of 5 stars Ungame Is wonderful
... Ungame has been wonderful in helping my child to express her feelings, and become a more verbal person.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a great tool
As an elementary school counselor, I've used the ungame for the past 11 years.I've never run across a student yet who hasn't enjoyed playing the game and many of them ask to play on return visits.I've read the other reviews and was surprised to see some of the critical comments. The game isn't intended to transform a family or someone's life.It is a tool to use in a variety of situations.Students new to school, students I'm speaking with for the first time, students who tend to be competitive, students who are shy...(I could go on)....the game gets people talking. If you're looking for something fast paced, then go for Hungry Hippos or Perfection. But if you want to open lines of communication in an easy, natural way, try the Ungame.Make sure you are purchasing the game for your intended audience as there are many versions! ... This is a strategy game with a twist--if you lose, you'relunch. You've taken your trusty Safari Rover deep into the bush; nowmaneuver it through the maze of hungry animals and get back to camp inone piece. An 8-by-7.25-inch plastic game tray forms a kind of grid foryour vehicle and the 3-D plastic animal pieces (including elephants, rhinos, and a termite mound). Draw one of 50 cards (10 of which areextra-easy, for younger players) to determine the initial board setup. Then move pieces, according to strict rules, to make your escapethrough the only exit. 3-0 out of 5 stars Fun but bulky
Our family truly enjoys the Rush Hour game and tried this one as well - it is bigger and bulkly and convenient for travel.I alos find the puzzles to be a bit easier. The pieces don't slide as well as Rush Hour.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good toy for everyone
I knew this game at a friend's house and love it even I was 30 already at that time.I bought several when I went back to visit my family and they all love it.When I told my mom that I would give my brother's 1st grad boy a set, she told me he won't like it since he doesn't like the brain games. But he loves it soon after my sister explain to him the rules and he enjoys to do it.My little one, almost 23 months old now, likes those animals and loves to put all of those animals to the board one by one and kind of learn the size and arrange the place. It's not only for 8 and up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Parents- get ready to find out how little you know!!
My 7 year old daughter is a geography buff, and her skills definately improved after playing this game! It improved mine too! I found out how little I remember about differnt states! She learned North, South, East and West, can name all the states and the capitols! She is leaps and bounds ahead of her classmates in this area, I attribute that to the fun learning she experienced playing this game! I plan to purchase one for all my nieces and nephews when they are 7.

5-0 out of 5 stars Learning FUN!
I highly recommend this game!Very fun while still being extremely educational. The best way to learn is while your having a good time doing it.My son (4 years) has this game and we have given the Jr. version as a gift. The Jr. version is appropriate for pre-readers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for all ages
My son started playing this when he was 3.At 4, he can name all the states, abbreviations, capitals and most of the state birds. He can tell you where the major points of interest are without looking at the map. It helps to teach the concept of distance, such as "which state is closest to Maine". It also teaches the concept of compass direction, such as "which state is north of Texas".The game can be played with or without a board for portability. All in all a great educational game for children as well as adults. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great game
we've had this game since my son was 18 months - and we're still playing with it at almost 3. it's basically a memory game, but you can play it competitively, or not, with colors, or with black and white. if you love the book, this is a nice addition. the only problem is the cards - with a toddler, it's kind of hard to keep them on the table together, much less in the right "spots". but if your kid is kind of orderly, this is a great game to play with them. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great first puzzle for 1-2 year-olds
This 9-piece puzzle was the most popular first puzzle with both my son and daughter, starting around 18 months. First, it's a high-quality puzzle. The art is detailed and realistic (while still being appealing to young children), and the construction is durable (i.e., children can step on it and not break or bend it). Second, the pegs make it accessible to younger children and allow them to practice their pincher skills. The pegs reduce frustration because it's easier to hold on to them and rotate them into the proper direction. Third, and most importantly, the puzzle has animal pictures behind each of the puzzle pieces. The animal pictures made the puzzle fun when the kids first used it; they would get excited to reveal the animal and quickly developed favorites. Later, the animals turned the puzzle into a memory game as we asked "where's the horse". Then, we increased the complexity by asking more indirect questions like "where's the animal that has puppies". I highly recommend this puzzle as a first puzzle for any child between the ages of 1 and 2.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Puzzle We Own
My son got this for his 1st birthday. He took right to it, seeing all the animals he was learning about. Now, he is 3 1/2 and loves it all the same, except he knows how to put the pieces in all by himself.Sometimes to keep it exciting we race puzzles to see who can finish their's first.Even through all the use, this puzzle looks brand new! It's Great!

my son does not yet understand the "choosing a color" and sticking to that same color throughout the game thing.this is a great game that teaches him to take turns without getting frustrated that he can't be the same color as momma. We love it!It is a great introduction to more sophisticated board games.

I love this game!!My son has been playing it for 2 years now. He's 4.5 yrs old right now. It's so easy to learn and great fun for up to 6 people!!We make it a little more challenging by taking two colored snails each and trying to remember which are ours when the colors are rolled. For our family of 3, that makes it lots of fun!I advise everyone to buy this game if there are young children in your house. You will NOT be disappointed.

I got this for my daughter several years ago. When a friend and I were recently discussing all the toys we had bought that the kids never play with, this came up as one of the few purchases that I felt I got my moneys worth and the kids have played with it over the years. It has held up great. It's perfect for cold, rainy days when the kids have energy to burn.It helps with coordination.I don't know if it still comes with the plastic carrying case, but the case is good for keeping it clean and taking it where ever you go.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun!
We received this game as a birthday present and my boys, ages 9,8 and 5, love it!The Event Cards kept things interesting and unpredictable. We did help my 5 year old with a little strategy in choosing the quickest ways to reach all his attractions, but by the end of the game he had the hang of it.The pieces are durable and very well packaged.Great game!

5-0 out of 5 stars A negative review???
I can't believe I just read a negative review of this game. This is one of the most fun and entertaining games my children and I have ever played. My kids are 11 and 7 and they both love it.It's a GREAT family game that teaches strategy and thinking ahead. The spaces are just fine in size. The only problem is seeing the spaces behind the castle. That's it.Otherwise, it's wonderful. We love to use this game to reminisce about our Disney trips as well!

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE WORST BOARD GAME EVER
I was really shocked to see ANY positive reviews of this game. It was the worst game I've ever played in my entire life. I played it with my 5 year old who loves everything and he hated it too. I'm not the kind of person to return something unless it is broken but I returned this after the first time playing it.
The rules are complicated.
The spaces are too small to count when you are moving.
There is little to no fun or imagination in playing the game.

This game takes the fun out of play. ... Read more

Editorial Review

How many times have you said, "Your face will stick that way"?If you've tried to discourage your kids from sticking out their tongues or pulling on their cheeks, try redirecting their face-making energies to the Colorforms Silly Faces Game. The object of the game is to assemble an indescribably silly Colorforms face on the blank character card. Give the spinner a whirl for the type of feature--eyes, nose, mouth, hat and hair, and ears. Pick the piece that's just right and then place the item on your character--it sticks like magic. The first person to complete a face wins the game. No reading is required, so once kids understand the rules they can play independently. --Lisa Whipple ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Another cute game for little kids.
I got this for my 3.5yo son for Christmas this year.He really enjoyed playing it with the family.Once someone finishes their face, we keep playing until everyone is done. Then we all hold up our silly faces for everyone to see and have a good laugh!I took all of the pieces off of the sheets, and put them on the game board near their spot on the spinner so they're easier to find. The only negative I have is the quality of the spinner. We often had trouble getting a "good" spin, and it seems to slip back down through the hole in the game board.Oh, and I wish there were more than 4 choices for hat/hair, and more than one "female" dressed card. There are tons of eyes, noses, and mouths, but not enough choices for hats/hair--I kept getting stuck with the hat with the flower in it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for children with special needs
I am the mother of a four year old autistic son, and this is one of his favorite games. It teaches body parts, emotions, and turn-taking, and also helps develop fine motor skills. This game is basic and easy to learn for young children.I highly reccommend this if you are looking for a fun and educational preschool game.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Children with a diagnosis of Autisim
I am a para educator who works with children who have a diagnosis of Autisim. This is a great tool to help familiarize childrem with basic Gesalt skills along with recognition of facial expression. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!
I truly enjoyed playing this game with my daughter (age 9).It's competative, promotes reading & math skills and a love for horses too!Highly recommend this game for family fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars Why not
I am nine years old and love playing Gallup Home! This is a great game, the only down side to this game is that all but one of the little horse head pieces broke! I swear that the pieces are like glass. The first time I played it with my mom I hit the table and one of the pieces fell and broke. After that they kept on breaking no matter how many times I super glued them. Other wise this is a great game!I would reccommend this game to horse lovers of all ages!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Board Game
My 5 year old loves this game. She plays 5 to 6 games a day with me and her grandmother and could play more if we would play with her. I think this game is a great game for horse loves and no horses lovers. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Pop Up Pirate! promises hours of amusement. After all, who doesn't like to see a pirate get shot out of a barrel? The game is simple. The unlucky pirate is pushed into the top of a brown plastic barrel, readying the spring mechanism for his eventual launch. Players then take turns pushing colorful plastic swords into holes on the side of the barrel, one by one until finally someone releases the spring and sends the poor little pirate on his way. Whoever makes the pirate pop loses, until the next round at any rate. The game includes a blue plastic base, the brown barrel (the sort that pirates would use for grog), and 24 plastic swords--six each of yellow, red, green, and blue. There's also lots of stickers of birds, smiling sharks, and even an ogling octopus, although they don't stay stuck very well. The pirate himself has a big black mustache and wears an eye patch and a purple plastic scarf over his head. Luckily, he doesn't seem to mind getting jounced around so much, since he also has a gigantic, if somewhat cautious, grin. --David Morel ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars 20 month old A+
Santa got this for our 5 year old and 20 month old for Christmas.I bought the toy based on the reviews.Inever realized how much the 20 month old would love this toy.She can do it by herself, she loves it.We don't play by the "rules" we just have fun putting the swords in until the pirate pops up, that person loses but we all giggle and laugh!

Great toy for price!A 20 month old is capable of play!

3-0 out of 5 stars Easy to play
We gave this game to our five year old grandson for Christmas. He loved it the first couple of times we played it but soon figured out which sword to pull to pop up the pirate. He quickly became bored with it after that.It seems like a sturdy game and the pieces aren't too small. The five year old has a baby brother so I was a little concerned about the swords but they're larger than I expected.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pirate game
After we figured out that you really have to use some force to put the swords in, we had a great time playing this. It seems like the same hole pops him up every time, but we're not sure. The sticker on the barrell might help someone memorize where his pop point is. Perhaps leaving the sticker off the barrell would make it impossible to memorize. He jumps really high, which is way cool. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Railroad Rush Hour - new moves, new pieces, great fun!
Like Rush Hour, Railroad Rush Hour has you "escaping" the traffic jam... this time in the railroad yard, where the traffic can include rail cars and cargo.Rearrange the pieces to get the engine out.

40 challanges included; nylon bag stores pieces when not in use.Larger than Rush Hour pieces makes this puzzle easier to handle for eager young solvers. And with the new pieces, the challanges are all new and different, even for Rush Hour lovers!

5-0 out of 5 stars Teriffic fun, great value
This game really is great. My autistic 11-year-old gets
a good mental challenge and feeling of accomplishment out of it,
and I have fun as well.My only negative comment is regarding
travel. We've taken it on many plane trips, and it's great
because it fits in a small area to play as well as store, but
it has a lot of small parts (duh! :-), and they are easy to lose
track of when travelling. So be vigilant, and find all those
train cars when putting it away! :-)

5-0 out of 5 stars Railroad rush hour - a great game for all
This is a fabulous game for people of all ages.Even little kids can play the easy cards. The harder ones can be very engrossing for adults. My son started playing it when he was 4 years old. I have also given it to somebody as a present for their 40th birthday.I recommend it for anybody who wants a bit of a mental challenge. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Introduction To The United States Map
Our 5 year-old son plays this game with us and we all enjoy it. This game is a great way to teach children the names and locations of the states. It also teaches an interesting fact about each state. In this version of the game, the players don't have to know the names of the state capitals, but since that information is provided on the game board my son is picking up on it too.

There is a 60 second timer so you can help level the playing field by varying the amount of time older players have to read the card and give the answer. We give our son 45 seconds and my husband and I get 15 seconds. We all finish well ahead of the timer, but we find it easier to use the main intervals marked on the timer. You could use different intervals if you desired.

Durability: We buy a lot of board games and this one has held up better than the others. The cards are thick so they are not easily bent. Also each set of cards has a zip bag so they stay stacked and sorted when you put them away.

5-0 out of 5 stars We love it.
Our daughter loves this game. She got it when she was 4.5 years old and it became an instant hit. She learned a lot from this game since then. Now she is almost five years old and we are ready to get her the Great State game for older kids. (she calls it "Great State Senior.") And we are going to give the Great State Junior game to some of her best friends for their birthdays.

5-0 out of 5 stars We Love This Game!
One of my 4th graders gave me this game for Christmas to play with my 3-yr-old son. I was a bit apprehensive because I thought my son was too young to play this type of game.Boy, was I wrong! We play this every afternoon after school, and several times on the weekend. Some of the verb cards are more difficult, but he is learning as we go what things are and how to best "show" what they are.I highly recommend this game and plan on buying several for upcoming birthdays.

4-0 out of 5 stars Real fun for little ones
This is a great game for little kids.Unlike other "kid" charades games, you don't need to read to play this.

2-0 out of 5 stars Maybe for older kids.
I got this for my 4 and 5 1/2 year olds. It's a simple chase game, but after each move you act something out.The acting has nothing to do with the goal of the game. The acting would be fun, but my 4 year old wasn't interested in acting out the card.Instead, he always acted out a plane. My 5 1/2 year old didn't have the refinement in her movement for anyone to guess what she was doing. There are only 6 game pieces, and really no reason they had to be choking hazards.Since they truly are, I have to keep my 1 year old far away. The quality is poor. The cards are flimsy.Maybe 6 or 7 year olds would have the motor skills...but would they have the interest? ...
