5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun
We purchased this as 12 volt ride on and have had no problems. Our son is 3 and we live on 2 acres.I was concerned that it would have difficulty moving up some of our fairly steep inclines, esspecially after reading that the gator had a higher grading rate, but it performs better than I could have imagined!Actually, it performs better than the neighbors gator as far as going up some of the inclines. It has a little zippered pouch on the back for picking up any flowers or mulch or whatever else a 3 year old could think of.I do imagine he will outgrow it sooner than the larger peg four wheeler, but he enjoys it and fits great on it.I hope it will be around when our 1 year old is old enough for it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality!
I purchased this for my grandson's 2nd Birthday, we have been very disappointed, it will only run on concrete if the child doesn't weigh about 50lbs.I feel like I wasted my money. ... Read more

Unzip this 10-by-14-inch, bright turquoise, soft cloth book, and you'll find two animal-packedalphabet trains spanning both pages. Each train car is a pocket, and each pocket is embroidered with aletter of the alphabet. Inside the pockets you'll find friendly little pillow animals, each one marked with aletter of the alphabet: the pink elephant rides in the E car, and the green alligator rides in the A car.Your child will love taking the animals out of the pockets and stuffing them back in (a favorite toddleractivity). You'll have fun teaching your child the names of the animals and letters, such as N for newtand X for xenops. When playtime is over, your toddler can zip the whole gang safely inside, grab thesturdy handle, and tote the little animals to their next destination. --Elisabeth Fredrickson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Learning !!!!
I bought this for my daughter when she was 1 1/2 years old last christmas. She loves it, (and so do I).She still pulls it out to play with.Amazingly enough, we have never lost an animal for more than a few weeks.Since there is a space for each animal, it is a great storage too.You are able to see if you have everything when it is put away.Which leads to another great part about this toy, my daughter LOVES to put all the animals back in their "garages" (as my daughter calls it).Very soon after we bought this, she was memorizing her letters and telling me what each animal was.Since they all have matching letters on the animals and their "garages" it helps the younger ones find out where each goes.I can't say enough good things about this.I hate to buy toys that get put in the toy box and never get pulled out again. But this one has definately kept her attention. When you put that with the educational opportunity, how can you resist it?It is cute!Oh and you know how you get tired of playing the same toys with your children? This one is fun for the adults too. I forgot to mention one of the most important details. There is a form you get with the toy to order more animals if you lose any.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite toy for my kids!
This was a gift to my newborn boy, but my 2 1/2 year old adores it!
Pros:
1.helps teach letters (each animal has the letter that starts its name on its back)
2.compact, portable
3.cute!
4.animals good for other play (my daughter likes to pretend to "save" them when they are stuck in a tree, or have them ride in her "airplane" (shoe)... and much much more
5.OK for babies (although the animals are smallish, ~ 3inches tall, they never presented a choking hazard for my son -- who likes to chew them)
6.The animals machine wash well (see chewing note above :))
Cons:
1.Lots of pieces to lose -- we lost the lion for quite a while, but he showed up behind the entertainment center
2.Some of the animals are not so recognizable -- I think "N" is a newt, but it's hard to tell.

Despite the few cons, this is probably my favorite toy that my kids have. Thus, 5 stars all around!

Thomas the Tank is the signature bright-blue engine in the Thomas the Tank series. He does light yard work and pulls small passenger cars, such as Annie and Clarabel. Based on the award-winning television series Shining Time Station by the Reverend W. Awdry, the Thomas the Tank train system fulfills all of a child's choo-choo dreams. Each vehicle has a different name, character, and face. It is wooden and 2 inches high with black plastic wheels. The magnetic bumpers at the ends of each vehicle make linkup easy. Children will become friends with each one, developing not only imaginative play but social skills and new motor and cognitive skills as they mature. --Sandy Hirsch ... Read more

thomas the train is the first in thousands of dollars worth of great toys for a child.the only problem is if you buy this train...it starts a fascination not only with your children, but with you as well.my wife and I found ourselves searching out different thomas the train characters and have now spent about a thousand dollars on trains and accessories... it starts with this one blue little train and after a while you have invested a fortune... be warned don't start the addiction!

5-0 out of 5 stars Durable classic
Thomas the Tank Engine IS my young son's favorite toy. Actually Thomas is just the beginning. When you start adding on other vehicles and buildings, you'll soon have a little railroad empire going. The price is up there a bit, but when a kid loves it like mine does, in the long run it is worth it. We got Thomas for him when he was two. He is now four and still going strong. Thomas will be a keepsake for our child's heritage book long after he has outgrown it.

5-0 out of 5 stars The one and only Thomas the Tank Engine

5-0 out of 5 stars This toy is tops!
My son recieved it for his 2nd birthday and a year later still loves it. We keep it as an outside toy where he can dig and load dirt with it. Its nice and chunky for little hands and has a handle you push to make the loading part lift up. I imagine this toy will last forever.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of Fun
My two boys(5 and 6) have both the loader and dump truck and they have put about 1,000 miles on tires and they keep going. They enjoy playing in the dirt with these toys..They are kept outside and have lasted along time(3 yrs)..Even when left out in the rain, they have kept together with no problems.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but not durable
We used the trike for about 2 weeks before the handle broke. Our son is at the age right now that the handle is very important. We are looking to see how we can order just a handle.Once he gets a little older, I'm sure he will love peddling it!:) The bike itself is very sturdy...just bad handle!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Bike, but Won't last long
I got this bike in September for my 2 year old. We've had a great 6 weeks with it, but recently the handle started moving to one side and then yesterday it broke completely off leaving only a tricycle with no handle to push.

The weld holding the handle on to the bike was poorly done and it broke off after only 6 weeks of use. I was still able to return it to TRU , but the new one has a leaning handle so I expect to return this one in a month for a different product...IT was a GREAT Bike...While it lasted:( ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed
I purchased this for my 20 month old son, and he is not interested at all!In the Rock mode, the bottom does not curve very much so it really doesn't do much rocking. After about a month of him not playing with it, we moved up to the Ride mode.He played with it for about a day, but as soon as he saw me pushing him from behind with the parent's handle, he decided he wanted to do that.So now he hardly ever plays with it, and when he does, he pushes it around like a stroller.I guess soon I will just take the handle off, and see if he will ride it.However it seems to me that the handle is hard to turn side to side, so we might just have to go get a regular tricycle. We've only had it for a couple of months, so I hope as he gets older maybe he'll like it more.Overall, very disappointed and would never recommend this to anyone.

2-0 out of 5 stars Rock, Roll and Ride Delux
We bought the Fisher Price Rock, Roll and Ride Delux for my son shortly after his first birthday. He has only used the toy indoors in the rock mode, being that it was winter when we purchased it.We bought the Delux model because my son loves lights and sounds.Immediately when we bought it we noticed that the lights and sounds options did not function in the rock mode like they were intended to.The lights are supposed to go off when your child rocks it.I even got on it (I weigh 100 lbs) and rocked and couldnt get the lights to come on.There are little buttons in the steering column that seem to control lights and sound function that arent working properly. We are a bit disappointed seeing how we bought the delux version for the lights and sounds which dont function well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great ride on for indoors and outdoors !!!
My son got this present for his first birthday and it is his favorite toy.He is able to ride it inside the house, or he just climbs on it and rocks and presses all the buttons. He also rides it outdoors. He absolutely loves this trike. He has been climbing on it by himself before he could even walk. This is a great toy!!! ... Soup up the wagon and upgrade the ride to first class with this top-quality padding from the makers of America's original little red wagon. One-inch-thick pads smooth the wrinkles of the road and cushion and protect passengers from jolts and bumps. All cushions are covered in bright red, matte-finish vinyl, with edge binding sewn in heavy-duty thread. The bed pad measures 14 by 1 by 32.5 inches. The two end pads measure 15 by 1 by 5.625 inches, and the two side pads are 33 by 1 by 5.625 inches. The smaller pads fasten around the slats with Velcro webbing fasteners. The pads fit Radio Flyer wagons with stake sides (models #22, 24, 28, and 32). Ava Natov ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars BP#29 Wagon & #29 Pad Set
The wagon is perfect, however, the pads are too small and do not fit the wagon. This was very disappointing. Especially for a small child without any pads.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fit IS an issue...
Don't disregard the comments about this pad set not fitting the ATW model.Radio Flyer makes several wagons and pad sets. The large ATW requires Radio Flyer set #BP29 (which Amazon does not carry). The smaller ATW model uses set #BP24.

In short, I'd check the Radio Flyer site before finalizing your decision to buy.Otherwise you'll be returning product to Amazon.

Peep-peep! Here comes Percy the little steam engine from the ever-popular Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends book series and television's Shining Time Station (based on The Railway Series by Reverend W. Awdry). With its rounded corners and larger features, this chunky-styled Percy is designed for little hands. Made of lightweight plastic and sporting rubber-trimmed tires, Percy, the youngest and most eager engine in the station, heads off down the tracks with his traditional three-dimensional smiling face. A rear coupling prong allows Percy to pull freight and passenger cars of his same chunky style. The 4.5-inch-by-2.5-inch engine has an axle width of 1.75 inches and fits plastic tracks designed for the My First Thomas train series. This toy does not fit the standard 1.5-inch wooden tracks. --Kathryn Gustafson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars No visible scratches had it for 2 years
Most of my trains are pretty old except for the new ones but Percy really hasn't had any scratches and i've had him for nine years. His magnet is still there and it's in working order. Percy is one of everyone's favorite engines and this one is a great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars My son loves it!!!
My son is a big fan of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. His favorite is Percy. He takes his Percy trains with him wherever he goes (to bed, in the car, around the house, etc.).We even bought an extra for him just in case he loses one of them.If your children love Thomas (and what toddler doesn't?), I do have a piece of advice--get duplicates of the trains. You never know if one will get lost, or forgotten!I got doubles of most of the trains, Percy included, and it can be a real lifesaver when one gets lost or left behind!

4-0 out of 5 stars Still great fun after a year & a half!
We received this for my son's first birthday. He legs were far too short to make use of it at one, and he's not a short kid.He used it effectively as a walk-behind for quite a while. He did like the phone right away, but it broke very early on.The under-seat storage has always been a big hit.And he discovered on his own that the front comes off for use as a tote (aka "my toolbox").At just 2-½ and 37", he is still using his fire truck, and loves it.For us, this is an inside toy and perfect on our hardwood floors.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
This is a great ride on toy for the money.I wanted something simple and fun and thats what we got!It doesn't have any fancy noisemakers or lights to get annoyed with. It's just good, old fashioned fun.My son loves to store his water cup in the secret compartment while he makes laps around the house. He's only had a it a few weeks, but I see lots of good make believe play in the future!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best "bike" for the little people
My little guy has had a blast with this bike for almost 2 years (he's short for his age). The handle on the back helped him learn to walk at age 1 and he's been chugging along on it since. He's even getting a little daredevil-ish down slopes these days. The boy can cruise quicker than you'd think on this thing, even on a level sidewalk with foot-power.

This "bike" is a great buy.The seat opens up and is large enough to put lots of rocks, hot wheels, etc in. The bike is lightweight, plastic is sturdy, price is cheap, all functions well.

The "toybox" on the front does come off but we've just left it on so that it doesn't get to where it is too loose to stay on (plastic clips will wear out).It looks better on anyway and the toybox is too small for any real use other than a simulated "engine replacement."Use the under-seat compartment for toys, etc.

As far as the review by "kt" about the bike being too low for use outside, at about 15 months I cut the little safety tabs (visible in picture - made to keep it from tipping over front or back) off with kitchen scissors and it is still VERY stable and has never flipped over in either direction - even under recent "advanced freestyle" use.

And for the review by "Dorothy Rosa "flyawayhome"" - some people just can't handle REAL life so they insist that everyone else join their make-believe world. There is a pink/white version of the bike for those who want to bring out the feminine/ist in their boys. ... Read more

A tinier version of the traditional Radio Flyer steel trike, this 10-inch classic couldn't get any cuter without an anxious toddler onboard. Wide handlebars with grips, matching red pedals, a step in back for piggybacking, and a wide two-color seat give it a distinctly retro look. 1-0 out of 5 stars For older kids
I bought this for my son's 2nd birthday. He is turning 3 in a few weeks and finally can touch the pedels. This toy should be for 3 and up. It has been basicly sitting on my porch for a year untouched. And the weather here is nice all year. Also a wheel felloff. He barely ever used the bike. now he can reach the pedels and he can't ride it because we have to go buy a cap to hold on the wheel.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best you can buy - needs to be heavier
We bought this tricycle for our three-year-old and had the same problem as everyone else here has - the steering on the handlebars just doesn't stay put. We've had to adjust ours numeous times too.It gets used, but it just isn't all that safe. You HAVE to use a helmet with this guy because it's VERY easy to tip over, which is a huge deal for the age group for which this is intended. It's nice that they kept the classic styling but there's one thing they shouldn't have kept - how dastardly easy it is to get your foot under that back bar and scrape the top of your foot!I did that a zillion times as a kid and now, I'm doing it again with my child's bike!I HATE that! And, I have the scars to prove it.

All-in-all, if you like nostalgia, then by all means, avail yourself of this product. But quite frankly, I'd buy something else more study.I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone letting their child use this product unsupervised. It just tips over way too much.I get the willies each time I see this guy go down the driveway.Good thing I've been there each time this thing has tipped over.

2-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not safe
We have been very disappointed with this trike. Not only will the steering wheel not stay positioned properly, but it is very tippy and dangerous. My son has had this trike for a year, and now at 3 it is still a hazard.Children sit up so high and the broad turning radius causes the trike to tip over very easily causing a big fall.We are going to buy a Kettler instead and anticipate better results.Cute to look at, but best left at the store, at least for 3 year olds. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Get A Garden Cart Instead!
After looking at the decline in quality and increase in ridiculously high prices with regards to the Radio Flyer line of wagons, we ended up buying a lovely red garden cart from a local garden store for a fraction of the cost of the largest Radio Flyer wagon. It has real rubber tires, enough room for all three of our kids, deep sides that prevent falling out, and glides like dream! We just added a nice padded liner for comfort and away to the park we all go!There is also a 400lb weight capacity, so it can be used for plenty of yard projects as well!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
We bought this wagon a couple of years ago. I must agree with one of the reviewers, it rusts. We had to finally throw it away. It is uncomfortable for the kids and if they are too young they have a hard time staying in because the sides are not that high and there are no seat belts. I would recommend buying a different wagon especially if you have more than one child.

5-0 out of 5 stars The kidzzz loved it!
We found this brand new wagon beside our garbage dump...
It was just there with the cardboard shipping paper still in it!Well, to say the least...my husband took it and my 10 year old and 29 month old just had a ball!
they have gone to the patio and just played with it or walked around the complex with it.The 10 year old likes to be in it with her sister...

Made of sturdy wood and plastic, this set of three cars comes with five wooden animals: an elephant, a lion, a tiger, a zebra, and a giraffe. Like all cars and engines in the system, these link together via a sturdy and reliable system of magnets. Use them as components in a whole miniature world of train-car characters, wooden tracks, and scenery based on the popular Thomas the Tank Engine book, television, and video series. This product has a lifetime warranty. --Joan DeClaire ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but can't use the pieces
This is a fun set, except the animals do not fit through any of the tunnuls. We use the open box-cars for the barels that go with another set.If you are only going to use the animals without any tunnels, which is difficult with small children (they love tunnels), its a fun set.If you set up big train configs...get something else.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun... but size is a problem!
My son recently received the Circus Train for his 2nd birthday. He was really excited to see the animals, and loves to put them in the cage cars and drive them around the track. He has been very frustrated, however, because his train can't fit through any tunnels or bridges when the animals are on board - the animals are just too tall. I think the Circus Train would be a great addition to your Thomas Wooden Railway IF you don't have the bridges or tunnels to worry about. If you do have these items in your layout, I'd suggest the Ivo Hugh zoo set instead, as it is made to fit through those low clearance areas.

4-0 out of 5 stars 1st birthday present
My daughter received this for her 1st birthday. She loves the revving engine and beeping phone.Unlike ride-ons I've seen in the past this one has anti-tip bar which makes it much steadier. We've only had it 2 days but so far she loves it.Improvements I'd make would be a horn on the steering wheel, a phone that comes off the dashboard, and when the voices says "let's sing our abcs" or "let's count to 10" it should actually do what it's requesting. So, not terrifically educational, but in my opinion that's not the point of a ride-on.

5-0 out of 5 stars Baby in love
We have the old style of this toy, but as far as I can tell, it's the same, just different colors. It was given to my son when he was born, but we held off on giving it to him until he was 12 months. It was a little too big for him to sit on the seat and have his feet touch the ground all of the way, but he quickly grew into it.The first thing he did when we gave it to him for his birthday was to "rev" the engine! It was love at first sight. Now at 18 months, he's still completely in love with this toy! He'll push the button that plays the ABC song and dance along with the little kid singing! This toy is a real winner!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great for small kids
This wagon is an excellent wagon. The seats are low and the sides are high such that the kids don't fall out.Our two year old loves to ride around the block in this wagon. Our neighbors have the same one and the kids love going down the street together.I found it easy to assemble and I think the door is pretty easy to use.My daughter cannot open it, but I don't really want her to open it, especially when we are riding.I like the idea of the tag-a-long trailer for this as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most Useful Item We Have
My sister bought this for us for the baby shower.Thinking that we wouldn't use this till he was older we put it in the closet. When our son was born and we quickly found out that movement was the key to happiness. So we took his infant carseat, put it on the wagon and put him in it.That was a success story in itself. The baby could not be more content. When i was in the kitchen I could pull him in their with me.The days are over driving kids around to put them to sleep.I just pull mine around in the house. We have been using this since week one and we will probably use it until were are grandparents. We love this wagon

5-0 out of 5 stars the best wagon there is!!!!
We bought this wagon at the begging of the summer for my two kids, ages 1 and 3. I think it is so great and they love to get in and out useing the door.Plus there is a little storage spot under one of the seat and when I say little i do mean little! but thats okay it was enough room for their coats or for a small toy. Plus the kids love the 2 cup holders where they can put their juice. I would definatley reccomend buying this wagon! ... Read more

Radio Flyer's answer to the SUV, this standard red wagon (32 by13.5 inches internally) comes with a set of wooden extender rails thatattach to the metal body with 10 bolts, more than doubling theeffective capacity. (With the rail, it has a depth of over 9 inches.)Note, however, that the rails are .25-inch stock--too weak to withstandheavy loads like rocks or firewood. The wagon has the usual black metalhandle and white-hub solid rubber wheels. --Richard Farr ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice little wagon
This is a nice wagon but we have had the same trouble as others - the wood sides just don't hold up.They fall out all the time and it just gets aggravating.Wish I would have thought about an all-terrain wagon - that certainly would have lasted longer and I wouldn't be so aggravated. The assembly was okay, but I just think for the money, you could get something that was a little nicer and would hold up better.I'm thinking about replacing ours with something more sturdier. Our little one is quite rambunctious with things and this wagon really has trouble keeping up with our little one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Wagon
I bought this wagon for my son when he turned 2 yrs old.My son is 3 1/2 now and the wagon is still in great shape! We keep it in his room and he uses it to store all of his toys during the cold months. When it's nice outside, I take him out in the wagon and he has a ball.I don't see any signs of chipping and the wooden sides are still sturdy.I highly recommend the Radio Flyer Trav-ler Wagon!

2-0 out of 5 stars A Great Toy Except....
My daughter received this ride on for her second birthday and loved it! We had to take it right outside so that her grand mom could see her using her new toy. The problem with this toy is with the license plate part of it. It is longer than the wheels. So my daughter was scooting along and hit a crack in the sidewalk, the license plate got caught it and she went flying forward. She ended up with a bloody lip and two years later she still has a small scar. We didn't notice that the license plate area would cause a problem until then. My father in law then took it and sawed off the piece of the license plate that was longer then the rest of it and its been fine since then. I believe that you can see what I'm talking about from the pictures that are provided on the site.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jessica Loves It!!!
We bought this for my daughters 1st x mas.. 12/02 she was 10 months old. It took her a few months to be able to ride it good. It kept her busy with all the buttons to push. I remember the batteries died real fast. It is very durable, i WOULD NOT reccomend it for the age they do up to 3 years. I would say up to 18 months maybe 24 months at the most. I have kept it incase my last child is a girl. Jessica and I are happy with it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Frighteningly high above a deep ravine, Thomas the Tank Engine peers over the edge, wondering how he will get to the station on time. He's saved only by the immediate construction of a bridge that gets him clickity-clacking across in no time. The Reverend W. Awdry created the Island of Sodor as a place for childhood imagination to run free with his Thomas the Tank Engine series of books. The Sodor Bay Bridge expands opportunities for dreaming and connects to any of the tracks from the Thomas Wooden Railway System. Two train trestle bridges connect to span 25 inches. Manufactured by high-quality toy maker Learning Curve, the bridge is sturdily made of wood with blue plastic supports to endure years of adventurous play. --Lynne Sampson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bay bridge is a must
Starting around age 2 the "World of Thomas" and his train friends became the biggest part of my son's days of play. If you are as deep into Thomas as my family is then the Sodor Bay Bridge is a must have. Hours and hours are spend pushing the toy trains over and under the bridge. Your first three starter purchases should be the trains, the tracks and then this bridge.Good Luck it is an expensive "world" your getting into!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVED it ... and so did my nephew
I ordered the bridge and then read the review that said the bridge didn't come with the ascending tracks. My trip to a local independent toy store confirmed the review. After purchasing additional tracks ... and driving 4 hours so that the tracks would make it in time for his 3rd birthday, he opened the box and I shocked to see the tracks he needed to connect the bridge to the rest of his set.I guess the manufacturer has addressed this issue....

I played with it (the bridge, figure 8 set with battery powered engine, and additional tracks) for a good hour before realizing I was enjoying it more than him!The tracks are extremely durable. My nephew and his brother and sister all loved it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Love this, but . . .
I bought this accessory for my 2-year-old son Sam, and he loves everything about it except the fact that there is not quite enough top clearance for trains to pass underneath -- You have to set the spans on blocks for that. I also agree that the set should include the ascending track, or at least anotice that it's sold separately. ... Read more
